Many may not know it, but the Honda Civic is just half a century away. The first unit of this iconic compact rolled off the assembly line back in 1972 and up until today. Throughout all this time, ten generations have followed one another and the eleventh is very close to coming into our lives. In fact, we have just met the prototype that will give rise to this installment, although it does not show all its cards. We mean that the Honda Civic Prototype that you can see in the images corresponds to the sedan version. This bodywork, which in the current generation is marketed in Europe, is one of the ones with the lowest demand on our continent. However, it is the one with the largest number of orders in the United States and for this reason those responsible for the model have started here. If you like it, keep an eye on it, because it promises more ... The image of the Honda Civic Prototype is more conservative and serious The first thing that strikes the new Civic is its image. Unlike the current installment, and the previous ones, its imprint is less futuristic. It is true that the saloon bodywork is not so risky, but in this case the team of designers has chosen to satisfy the tastes of its priority market: the US. In fact, Honda announces that although we are looking at a prototype, it is a faithful approximation of the model that will hit the market. On the front it stands out for offering a more pronounced and narrow grill. This element is flanked by Full LED optical groups with simpler lines. Thanks to this configuration, the height of the body appears lower while the width of the whole seems to grow. The bumper offers really simple lines although it does not forget its sportiness. To do this, it provides a generous lower air intake. If we go to the side view, we appreciate fluid and simple lines. There are only two design elements that add a spicy touch. First we have the rear custody window with a wavy bottom line. As a complement, there are 19-inch alloy wheels finished in black. As a curiosity, it should be noted that the descending line of the roof flees from the prevailing coupe trend in the market. Finally we have the rear. Its design is simpler than that seen in the current generation and this can be seen in the format and configuration of its optical groups. The integration of the third volume is perfect and the small spoiler on the boot lid gives it a sporty touch. The changes in this area are completed by a sporty design bumper that, at its ends, integrates racing-style tailpipes. If you liked its interior, say goodbye to the futuristic lines Inside, information regarding the new Honda Civic is still limited. The only graphic document we have, to illustrate our imagination, is this sketch. As you can see, the design configuration is much simpler than the current one, leaving behind the futuristic inspiration. However, although this new identity seems a step backwards, we cannot consider it that way, since it follows in the wake of the little e. First, the new Civic will bet on offering a dashboard with horizontal lines. Second, note that the number of physical buttons is reduced to a minimum. However, we must highlight three elements. First, after the e, it will be the pioneer in including a configurable digital instrument cluster. Second: the touch screen grows to 9 inches and is located in the upper center position in the style of an iPad. Third: the central area of the dashboard offers the appearance of a continuous ventilation grille. We have seen this aesthetic resource in models like the Passat or some Audi. Under this element, we have the controls for the climate control that, unlike other rivals, remain traditional. Finally, in the central tunnel we find a wide space to store objects, two cup holders and the gear lever. Regarding the equipment possibilities, Honda has announced an important piece of information. The next Civic will feature the latest evolution of the Honda Sensing security system. To this must be added new airbags or a new version of the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. To know the rest of the details, we will still have to wait some time, although it should offer a very generous habitability. Of its possible mechanics, for now, we better not talk ... Another aspect that, for now, is unknown is the mechanical offer that will give life to the new Honda Civic. We know that the hatchback body will host the Type R version so sportiness is guaranteed. The question is in the level of electrification that its range will offer. In any case, the platform on which it will be based is an evolution of the current one, so we do not believe that it offers one hundred percent electric versions. We will have to be very attentive to the news that Honda can publish. It remains to be seen if this sedan version will reach Europe or will be limited to the United States. In addition, they also have to show what the final design of the hatchback version will be like, which will be the only one that will probably be sold on our continent.

Acquiring good eating habits and distrusting fast diets are fundamental precepts. The process takes time. If necessary nutrients for the body are eliminated to lose weight, it can lead to health problems. The most common are hair loss, nail weakness, and dizziness. "Weight loss has to occur in a framework of learning habits and lifestyle", indicates Viviana Viviant (M.N. 1680), nutritionist and personal trainer. "In general, a lot of food education is lacking," he says. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics of the United States states that if the goal is to lose weight, a minimum of 14 meetings with an expert are necessary over a period of at least six months. Studies by the World Health Organization (WHO) go along the same lines. This means that you have to pay attention and be wary of those diets that promise miraculous weight loss of more than one kilo a week. If the proposal is to “change the chip”, the first thing is to have a healthy relationship with food. You cannot think of a diet as a punishment. This vision, championed by psychologists and nutritionists, is the foundation of all healthy physical change. "The fact of consuming healthy and varied foods, and carrying out a physical activity that is enjoyed, are habits that can be underpinned by a nutritionist, according to the needs of the patient, evaluating their lifestyle", proposes the nutritionist Nadia Hrycyk (MN 5.430 ), also an expert in anthropometry, a discipline that allows knowing the composition and distribution of body mass, fat and bone through a set of measurements such as height, folds, perimeters and diameters. Some guidelines suggested by professionals are: Seek a caloric deficit. There are no miracle supplements or products. The real way to lose weight is to cut calories from your diet (300-500 calories) and increase your caloric expenditure with exercise. Sport can help, but the key is in the diet and the calories we eat from healthy foods. Change the lifestyle. It's not about looking for celebrity diets. To avoid rebound effects, you have to generate lasting changes, which consist of learning to eat in a balanced way forever. Some "good habits" can be: eat slowly, avoid snacking on food that is linked to emotions, and plan meals. Negative emotions and boredom lead to eating more and making worse food choices, opting for high-calorie and high-fat foods. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables. They should be the basis of any healthy diet. As much to lose weight as if, simply, it is necessary to maintain. They are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, essential nutrients for the proper functioning of the body. Cook in a healthier way. The iron and the oven can be great allies. When cooking a food in a container that contains a fatty element such as oil or margarine, the caloric value is greatly increased and, of course, its fat value Drink water as the main drink. Water exerts a physical effect by occupying a space in the stomach so it contributes to feeling full. It's easy to pack on liquid calories by drinking sodas and juices.

According to General Gustave Perna, of the Warp Speed (speed of light) vaccination program, set up by the US government to have a coronavirus vaccine faster than usual, there are about 40 million doses ready to distribute quickly if the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) grants emergency authorization to market it. Perna told ABC that states will decide, with guidance from the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who will be the first to receive the vaccine. Pfizer has already asked the FDA to grant emergency authorization for its vaccine, initiating a process that would allow the first inoculations in early December. Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech presented preliminary data that their vaccine would be 95% effective. Perna said that the "states will tell us exactly where they want it to be ... and as soon as they draw up distribution plans in the states, we will guarantee that the vaccine arrives in a timely manner." The first to receive the vaccine will predictably be healthcare workers and the most vulnerable people, such as residents of nursing homes. Experts say distribution to the general public will not begin before April or May.

More than two decades separate us since Cup Racing, which we all know as Cupra, launched its first preparation. It did so on the basis of the Seat Ibiza mk2, an Ibiza Cupra that paid homage to the Rally Champion of that same year and that reached up to 150 hp, remarkable power for a car in its segment. More than two decades have passed since it appeared on the market in 1996, 24 years in which it has been transformed as much as our main car reflects. To test the Cupra Formentor 2.0 TSI 310 CV, an exclusive and exclusively Cupra car. Let's start by explaining the "exclusive" and the "exclusively". Before, of course, thank the Gedauto Group for giving us this unit, the first to arrive at its Seat and Cupra dealership in Mérida. The Cupra Formentor 2.0 TSI 310 CV is an exclusive car due to its configuration, although we will delve into that topic later, and it is created exclusively by and for Cupra. No, there will not be a Formentor in Seat. It is the first car created by the brand and here it will stay, only in the Cupra range and in no other. And with that let's review the current Cupra range. If we do not fall into confusion, they currently have the Cupra Ateca, the first model that the company sold as an independent brand and an SUV that has been updated. They also sell the Cupra Formentor and the Cupra León, the latter still in full disembarkation. They presented an electric SUV concept, the Tavascan, but it's still just that, a prototype. The main idea that we can get from all this is that, from having a single model in practically two years of the brand's launch, to having two more on the bill and a prototype in just months. Cupra Formentor: SUV? CUV? High tourism? But let's go back to Formentor. In 2019 it debuted at the Geneva Motor Show as a preview to the final production model. Little by nothing changed with respect to this prototype that a year later would become a reality. It is not at all easy to fit it into the segment. SUV? CUV? High tourism? It does not matter. Now, in some cases, it is more difficult to catalog cars than to win the EuroMillions. And this one, like others, is not easy to position. What is easy to fit are its measurements, since we are talking about numbers and not interpretations. It measures 4.45 meters in length, about eight centimeters more than the Seat León, 1.84 m in width, about four centimeters more, and 1.51 m in height, five more than the compact but about eight less than the Ateca. With this it is lower than the Ateca SUV and also longer, with a similar width, somewhat smaller. Where he nails the Lion is in battle, exact measurements that make us think of his platform. They share the same, the MQB-EVO, the evolution of the well-known MQB used by other models of the group such as the Volkswagen Golf 8 or the Audi A3 8Y. We are talking about 2.68 m., A battle that combines with a 450-liter boot. Despite this, the Cupra Formentor seems more spacious than the León, although if we analyze its design and the path taken by its rear window, doubts emerge like flowers in spring. Of the most attractive «SUVs» sold And speaking of design, what can we say about the first product that only Cupra will sell? In general, congratulations, it's that simple. They have completed a car of measures and aesthetics quite appealing. And, I like it more than the Cupra Ateca and infinitely more than the Cupra León. Perhaps, the new grill is better in this volume, although we also have to emphasize that the sharpened optical group is more attractive in this and the resource of the position of the fog lamps very successful. If we put everyone in line, the Cupra Formentor would look like the "thug of the family", it would be him who would be blamed for the mischief. Its hood, with ribs included, accentuates a character that is still highlighted in its wheel arches, especially in the rear. The air intakes, the rising beltline and the wide C-pillar further qualify the whole on the sporting level. And its rear, with attached headlight, beefy bumpers and quad exhaust on this version, emphasize the idea. The rear and profile are the areas that highlight the sporty SUV approach. They stand out for the position taken by the rear window, very horizontal. Although, equally, its optical group adds making them a small spoiler that accompanies the first one that shows above. I do not like the fashion of joining the rear lights and I will be one of the few, but in this case ... ok yes, I like it. Modern, this is the interior that he shares with his cousins With this it is necessary to analyze its interior, an area that it shares almost completely with the Cupra León. To begin with, the dashboard shows right in the middle a 12-inch touch screen, the largest we find in the new generation of models mounted on the MQB-EVO platform. I haven't been able to “fiddle” too much with it, but at first glance, I can tell that it has a suitable size and easy handling. Of course, I think it needs prior learning so that you can deal with it intuitively and take advantage of its interface This infotainment team brings together, in touch control with its screen, the vast majority of the functions that we can perform. And yes, the design of the cars is oriented towards this point, few buttons and large screens. But no, I still don't see it safe to let everything be controlled through a screen that forces you to lose your eyes on the road and focus your vision to point at the exact place. With a button, on the other hand, the action is carried out with more intuition. I'm not looking to find the interior of a Porsche from the past decade, but neither do I find that of a Tesla Model S. Following the view down the center console and reaching the transmission tunnel, another detail that does not convince me is the design of its gear selector. It is true that this type of joystick helps to give a feeling of spaciousness and even provides a certain interesting approach to design, but as I said when I got into the Volvo XC40 I prefer a "traditional lever", more if it fits in a sports car. If I have to stick with this way of making gear selectors, I prefer the Jaguar and Land Rover ones. Posts to give space ... Looking towards the instrument panel we find the second interior screen from which we will also receive a lot of information relevant to driving and the car and that we can customize, giving priority to certain information or making the traditional speed and rpm spheres disappear. Closer to our eyes we have the steering wheel, with the Cupra signature, flattened and with two very interesting buttons that do invite us to think that we are dealing with a “real sports car”. Start button on the right side and driving mode selector on the left. Another curious detail that this model mounts is the light band that runs along the dashboard in its rearmost area and that reaches the pillars. Its function is not only decorative. In case of encountering traffic approaching us on the appropriate flank, it will light up and warn the driver to proceed with caution. An interesting resource that broadens the feeling of quality of the whole and that we are in a last generation car. Separate mention are the seats, seats that could practically go through a few buckets and that have the logo of the firm on the headrest. They, which grip the body quite well, leave you in a more sporty position than in the driving position of a Cupra Ateca, with a more horizontal view of the road and not as vertical, as we would have in an SUV. As for the space, being usual, in the front area we will not have problems and in the rear, if we do not occupy the central square, either. My 1.86 m. He entered the back row with relative ease, I was not afraid of cutting my throat on the roof when I entered and sitting down my head was far from hitting the roof and my knees from doing the same with the front seat. It is surprising for the fact of being a sporty focus SUV, although it is true that the tested unit did not mount a panoramic roof. 2.0 TSI 310 hp engine, the most powerful Before we talk about driving sensations, we have to re-immerse ourselves in the context in which we find ourselves. The Cupra Formentor that we have tested has the most powerful block served in the model, a 2.0 TSI with 310 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It is not the only engine available in the range, and here we find to date the decision, let's put quotes, more "controversial" of the brand. Its range will finally be articulated, and I quote in strict order of descending power, a PHEV version of 245, another of the same configuration with 204 and two of 150 CV, one with a 1.5 TSI engine and another with a 2.0 TDI engine. The range being crowned, as we have mentioned in the previous lines, by the 310 hp engine that concerns us. The "controversy", of course, does not refer to the brand having perpetrated an unforgivable attack on sportsmanship, values that have been pursued with nobility in these more than twenty years. Although, it refers to the fact that it has been and continues to be a topic of debate among journalists, as fans or anyone who follows the current market. Much of it, and I include myself, we think that these versions would go to the Seat Formentor range. But since there will be no Seat Formentor, Cupra has taken them. And I must admit that the Formentor will keep its essence in part if it is only sold by Cupra, and I also recognize that if you want to make a competitive brand, you have to expand the range offered in your models. But with a Leon Cupra with engines from 245 hp, an Ateca of only 300 and a past so close to sportsmanship, having in your range a 150 hp gasoline SUV that does 0-100 km / h in almost nine seconds ... it follows me without square. Likewise, and being another advantage, is that of the 46,920 euros that the Formentor costs that I have climbed to, we go to 31,670 euros of the access model car with manual transmission without discounts. And all this contained in a bottle that you like, that is attractive and that will surely appeal to the clientele who are looking with copious desire for an SUV in which the design is a differential weapon. Out of controversy, and focusing on the unit that brings us to this point, we find the most powerful version of the range. Both this version and the PHEV of 245 will receive the surname VZ, thus differentiating themselves from the rest. The 310 horsepower declares a 0-100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds, 0.1 seconds slower than a 300 hp Audi SQ2 and faster than a Leon Cupra 290, and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km / h. Mounts seven-speed DSG gearbox and all-wheel drive. You find what you are looking for Although, I have to say that the ride with the Cupra Formentor was not so long as to draw valuable conclusions. In the same way, I can conclude that the sensations were pleasant. And they were because I found what I was looking for, a dynamic SUV, with a sporty feel thanks to its block of more than 300 hp and a truly extraordinary chassis. To tell the truth, I did not expect less from them, they know how to make sports cars and I hope they continue to do so for a long time to come. In tight turns and changes of support it is stable. You are not afraid of hard braking and decisive steering wheel bumps. Its bodywork does not follow paths not expected by the driver, turning very flat at all times of the test. The all-wheel drive is to blame for you shooting out of every corner without demands on grip, a well-known 4Drive traction that always accompanies the model. There are different driving modes. In my test I have not been able to test them with time, taking most of the time the Cupra mode activated. We have the Comfort, Sport, Cupra, Off Road and Eco modes. The latter we will have to look for in a different button than the one we find the rest. Depending on the brand, these driving modes affect damping stiffness by regulating dynamic chassis control, all-wheel drive, steering, engine response and engine sound. It will also make changes to the active cruise control and climate control system, as in other models. If you are looking for an exhilarating sound, like that of a Hyundai i30 N, for example, I am sorry to disappoint you. Although, it is true that activating the most dynamic driving modes and driving in a sporty way you will have that melody that we look for in cars with this character. Of course, the sound floods the cabin largely thanks to the speakers, being a resource used by a large part of the modern cars of this approach. On the other hand, the steering has a mechanical progressive reduction, so it will not change from one mode to another. The Cupra model is offered in 9 different body colors: White, Urban Silver, Midnight Black, Magnetic Gray, Desire Red, Graphene Gray, Dark Campouflage, Matte Magnetic Gray and Matte Petrol Blue. The special launch edition ‘Launch Edition’ features Petrol Blue leather bucket seats, Brembo brakes, panoramic roof, exclusive 19-inch Copper alloy wheels, or Beats Audio. The equipment catalog also has a three-zone climate control or electric tailgate with Virtual Pedal, among others, and a Full Link connectivity system, in which we have Android Auto via cable and Apple Car Play with wireless connection.

The immune system is one of the hottest talking points. In the middle of the second wave of the Covid-19 coronavirus, doctors and health workers are studying the important role it plays Healthy habits such as sleeping well, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy and balanced diet, tune up and fit our immune system. This very efficient system is able to learn to defend against external attacks if it finds balance. “Since the beginning of time there has been a constant struggle between humans and pathogens that is the engine of both our evolution and that of the pathogens that confront us. On both sides of the host-pathogen interaction we evolve to try to take advantage of our enemy. The goal of pathogens is to benefit from us to reproduce and survive. Our goal: to eliminate the invader to survive and reproduce. The greatest defense weapon we have against these invaders is our immune system ”, explains Jorge Domínguez, researcher at the Department of Internal Medicine at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen (The Netherlands). What does our immune system need to be ready? By adapting our habits and lifestyle we can train and fine-tune our defenses. The main objective to promote a trained immunity is to provide our immune system with the energy and nutrients it needs to be efficient, in addition to leading a healthy life and diet. Including vitamins such as vitamins A, C, D and B12 in our diet and minerals such as iron, selenium or zinc are essential today. Vitamin D and Zinc, present in supplements such as the well-known IMMUNOFERON, contribute to this normal functioning of the immune system. Dr. Melchor Álvarez de Mon, director of the Department of Medicine and Medical Specialties at the University of Alcalá de Henares and head of the Immune System Diseases and Oncology service at the Prince of Asturias University Hospital in Madrid, explains that the keys to an immune system to point they consist of a healthy diet and life with physical exercise (10,000 daily steps) and the taking of food supplements, such as IMMUNOFERON. IMMUNOFERON, composed of AM3® Technology, in combination with other ingredients such as zinc or vitamin D, has been around for more than 30 years and is part of the habits of those who seek to take care of themselves and have their defenses fit and ready. “I can't risk missing my sports training for the Tokyo Olympics. Taking care of my defenses is an exercise that I have in my daily routine, ”says Sara Andrés, a Paralympic athlete who will participate representing Spain next summer in the long jump, 100-meter dash and universal relay. There are many situations that can alter the proper functioning of the immune system such as chronic diseases, infections or certain medications. Even, many factors in our day to day can weaken it. The importance of healthy habits in the immunity of our body Jorge Domínguez explains that “a good diet, exercise, healthy habits such as not smoking or not drinking excessively, sleeping an adequate number of hours… has an impact on our immune system. Having it ready is in our power ”. The society we live in unfortunately leads us to have a stressful lifestyle. In this context, it becomes essential to take care of ourselves both inside and out. Currently, one in three Spaniards suffers from a sleep disorder, but only a third of them go to a specialist to treat it. Another example is stress. One third of the world's po[CENSORED]tion between 18 and 44 years of age suffers from stress very frequently, affecting more women than men. Despite this, we are becoming increasingly aware of how important it is to take care of yourself. In this sense, it should be noted that 65% of Spaniards are concerned about leading a healthier lifestyle. IMMUNOFERON, taking care of the immune system of adults and children If we add IMMUNOFERON from Cantabria Labs to a healthy lifestyle, we will contribute to having a well-trained immune system, ready and fit, to face any situation. It is available in pharmacies both in capsules and sachets, as a syrup for the little ones.

Washington - Pfizer announced Friday that it has asked regulators in the United States to authorize emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine, kicking off a process that could lead to limited initial application next month and help finally finish with the pandemic, but not before a long and harsh winter has passed. This action comes days after Pfizer Inc. and its German partner BioNTech announced that their vaccine appears to be 95% effective in preventing mild and severe cases of COVID-19 in a large study under development. The companies said protection and a good safety record should allow for emergency clearance, something the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can grant before final testing. In addition to the application on Friday, applications have already started in Europe and the United Kingdom and their intention is to present similar information soon. "Our task to introduce a safe and effective vaccine has never been more urgent," said Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla in a statement. Given the peaks reached by the coronavirus in the United States and around the world, pressure is on regulators to make a decision quickly. "Help is on the way," said Dr. Anthony Fauci, America's leading infectious disease expert, on the eve of the Pfizer announcement. He added that masks and other protective measures should not yet be abandoned. "We must actually multiply public health measures while we wait for that help to arrive." Friday's filing sets off a series of events as the FDA and its independent advisers debate whether the vaccine is ready. In such a case, another government body will have to decide how initial doses are rationed in a country that is anxiously awaiting them. Initial doses will be scarce and rationed. There will be about 25 million doses available in December, 30 million in January and 35 million more in February and March, according to information presented this week to the National Academy of Medicine. Recipients should receive two doses three weeks apart. The COVID-19 vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Moderna Inc. is also on the way. Initial data indicates that it is as effective as Pfizer's. Moderna plans to apply for its own emergency clearance in the coming weeks. People will get their first chance to learn of the evidence for vaccines in early December at a public meeting of FDA scientific advisers.

BMW's newly introduced iX electric SUV already looks pretty much like it will when it hits production. A launch that the German brand has accompanied by a large amount of technical data and specifications. As described by those responsible, it will be BMW's "technology flagship" when it goes on sale at the end of 2021. It is a five-seater SUV that will deliver up to 500 hp of combined power, thanks to its two engines electrical Therefore, like the Tesla Model X, it will have four-wheel drive. IX acceleration and autonomy According to BMW R&D chief Frank Weber, it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 5 seconds and reach 600 km of autonomy. Some very striking data, even more so considering that it will be the second 100% electric production model from BMW. They had only made the i3 before, with much more modest capabilities. Weber said the iX logo was chosen to make it clear that it will occupy one of the highest rungs in BMW's electric range. In addition, it will serve as a display of the technology they are capable of offering. This model will carry the latest update to BMW's electric powertrain (5th generation) and will also offer high levels of autonomous driving technology and connectivity. The iX will face models such as the Audi e-tron quattro and the Mercedes-Benz EQC, as well as the models of brands specialized in electric cars such as the Tesla Model X and the Nio ES8. Bigger inside than it seems Weber stated that although it is generally similar in size to the BMW X5, the interior of the iX "offers roominess and cargo space comparable to the X7". Something that it achieves thanks to its electric platform, which leaves more spaces available for the cabin and the trunk. In addition, it is a new platform that uses carbon fiber to a large extent, so it will be light within its category of 100% electric large SUV. Which will place it close to 2.5 tons. Its chassis is made of aluminum with double wishbone suspension at the front and multi-link at the rear, with active steering on the rear wheels. BMW's change of course The iX has the internal codename i20 (not to be confused with the Hyundai i20). It is a change of plans within BMW, which had announced that its future electric models would be mounted on the same platforms as its current gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid cars. It uses a new aluminum frame that supports an internal carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) frame. Plus a body made from a combination of aluminum, composite plastic, and carbon fiber. This platform is described by Weber as a "totally new development", although it indicates that it is "highly compatible" with the CLAR platform used for the Series 3 and X5. Something that could suggest that key elements of its engineering will be used by other new BMW i sub-brand models in the future. This would allow BMW to produce the iX alongside the Series 5, 6, 7 and 8 at its factory in Dingolfing, Germany. So its production would not involve the creation of new specialized plants. The iX adopts the controversial design of the 2018 iNext concept. That is, a large 'double kidney' mock grille, almost no trim sides, frameless doors and fixed B-pillars. Not needing a front radiator, this grille is only maintained to maintain BMW's brand identity and to house the cameras, radar and sensors necessary for autonomous driving systems. Look no further, the hood cannot be opened ... For the first time on a modern BMW model, the iX will feature a fixed clamshell-style hood. As described by the brand: "Without a traditional engine or a front trunk, customers do not need to open the hood." For maintenance issues such as the windshield washer tank, it is accessed via the BMW emblem on the grille. The traditional BMW light design has been replaced by a quartet of light bands on top of very slim headlamps. The lights are full LED type and will be included as standard, although buyers may also specify laser lights as an option. The aerodynamics of the BMW iX have been optimized to reduce air resistance with the air ducts in the front bumper, flat panels under the body, integrated door handles and a lowering roof. Thanks to this, the brand announces a drag coefficient (Cx) of only 0.25. Buyers will be able to order the iX in its standard version or with a so-called M Sport. The latter has a more aggressive front bumper, which is what you can see in the main image of this article. The wheels on the BMW iX will be similar to those on the X7, but with aerodynamically optimized rims. Its measurements, therefore, will be large with 22 inches and 275/40 tires. BMW iX engine and battery BMW has yet to reveal details of the variants it has planned beyond the top-of-the-range version with twin-engine, four-wheel drive and 500 hp. The individual powers of the two electric motors remain secret for now, although Weber indicated that the rear will be the most capable: "We have designed the powertrain to support between 121 hp and 402 hp per axle, front and rear." With which its maximum speed will be greater than 200 km / h. The iX will be offered with different battery options with a “100 kWh plus” unit installed in the top-end model. So with a declared average energy consumption of 21 kWh / 100 km, it will reach more than 600 km according to the mark. The new charging system employed by the iX allows optional DC fast charging of up to 200 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in less than 40 minutes. Its standard charger runs at 11 kW, which provides the same amount of charge in 11 hours. BMW is preparing a wide range of connectivity and sensor functions. "The iX has a more capable processing unit than the latest models in our current lineup," said Weber. Wireless functionality is included via 5G and Level 3 autonomous driving technology.

Food has a direct relationship with health and more and more professionals are in charge of stressing the importance of acquiring good habits. Every day people of all kinds pass through the consultation of Raquel Ramírez, dietician and nutritionist at the head of Metabolic Zen. Weight issues, health problems or specific needs find in her, and in many other professionals, a shared solution: learning correct eating habits, beyond the diets adapted to each case or situation. "In general, a lot of food education is lacking," says the expert, who points out that health problems derived from bad habits are "quite important." Although each body has individual needs, the basic principles for healthy eating are common. The World Health Organization (WHO) has an impact on this, which publishes a series of data every year and lays down the lines to follow to improve an aggravated problem, as they themselves indicate, due to the increase in the production of processed foods, the rapid urbanization and the change in the lifestyles of the po[CENSORED]tion. Ramírez also focuses on this last point, who sees the lack of time to cook as one of the main conditioning factors. "The abuse of convenience foods is having serious consequences on our health," he explains, something to which stress and low-calorie diets or "miracle diets" are added. The WHO recommends reducing the consumption of free sugars and that fats do not add up to more than 30% of the daily intake The basic theory is well known: the consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and whole grains should be preferred in a healthy diet, which in turn has to reduce the consumption of free sugars (WHO establishes the healthy limit at 50 grams per day, 10% of total caloric intake). It is at this point where the clarifications to take into account begin. The amount recommended by the WHO translates to approximately 12 level teaspoons per day, but includes the sugar present in processed foods or prepared dishes, as well as that found naturally in honey or juices. Sometimes that amount is exceeded in a single product, as the SinAzucar.org initiative denounces. Founded by the consultant Antonio Rodríguez Estrada, it aims to visually raise awareness about the amount of sugar contained in products of daily consumption in many families. Regarding fats, the indications of the World Health Organization are also clear: they should add less than 30% of the daily caloric intake, and it is recommended that unsaturated ones prevail, which include foods such as fish, avocado and oils. In addition, the institution suggests avoiding industrially produced trans fats. Boiling foods instead of frying them or opting for low-fat dairy will make the diet healthier To reduce your intake, the first step would be to move towards a healthier kitchen, which involves boiling food instead of frying it. It is also effective to opt for skim dairy and lean meats such as chicken or turkey, as well as to eliminate the consumption of snacks and other packaged foods that contain unsaturated fatty acids. A social issue Factors such as socioeconomic characteristics or supply in each country influence the daily diet. However, one of the most important aspects is education, where the WHO has a special impact on its Strategy on diet, physical activity and health, promoted since 2004. In the latest report in this regard, entitled Healthy Eating and published in 2018, the institution points out that inadequate nutrition is one of the main risk factors for health. Being responsible in this regard reduces the chances of suffering from different non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer or stroke. For his part, Ramírez adds to the list hormonal problems, lack of energy derived from glucose levels and some autoimmune diseases. "It is not about one food or another, but about disorganization when it comes to eating, which leads to very slow metabolisms," he explains. He also points out that "the body is simple: it needs a healthy and balanced diet", and concludes: "Nutrients are much more important than calories. These only exist if you burn them or not." Four questions to ... Eating a healthy diet is not always easy, but with enthusiasm and will we learn a series of beneficial habits for our body and mind. This is how Emilia Gómez Pardo, PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a master's degree in Nutrition and Health, tells it. 1. Is there a lack of food education among the po[CENSORED]tion? There is a lack of education for health and, of course, food. Nutrition is a science and new knowledge is constantly being generated. The channels for this education to reach society are not properly established; There are many people who feel legitimate to speak, most of the time without knowledge or scientific basis, which is why contradictory and lacking quality information abounds. 2. Where is this education to be obtained? It is a pending issue in our country, and the specialty of preventive medicine is not the strongest in our system. The only way to access information that does not compromise your health is to contact registered dietitians and nutritionists and other health professionals. 3. Is awareness growing? Definitely. We are increasingly aware that our habits have a very important impact on health. 4. Any simple but effective dietary changes? Add a salad plate to each of your meals. The benefit you will have is beyond doubt. Less easy but just as effective: stop eating superfluous foods that do not give you anything from a nutritional point of view.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to cause great damage in the United States, which has already exceeded 250,000 deaths from COVID-19. The country is the most affected in the world with more than 11.5 million registered cases and 250,180 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. However, world accountants already increase those figures to 11.8 million infected and 256,311 deaths. New York is no longer the state with the most infections, but it is still the hardest hit in terms of deaths in the United States with 34,187. Other states with the worst death figures are: Texas (20,147), California (18,406), Florida (17,731) and New Jersey (16,655). In terms of infections, Texas has 1,078,875, followed by California with 1,059,336, third is Florida with 905,248, Illinois is fourth with 606,771 and New York fifth with 574,072. The provisional death toll -250,180 - far exceeds the lower limit of the initial estimates of the White House, which in the best of cases projected between 100,000 and 240,000 deaths from the pandemic. It is even estimated that by the end of the year the United States will reach 320,000 deaths and by March 1 to 440,000, according to projections made by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluations (IHME) of the University of Washington, in whose models for predicting the evolution of the pandemic are often set by the White House.

The new Mazda MX-30 electric SUV has earned a five-star rating in Euro NCAP safety tests. A rating it achieved comfortably, as indicated by the organization's praise for its impressive front-end safety structure and resistance to side impacts. Thanks to this, it has achieved a score of 91% for the protection of adult occupants and 87% for the protection of child occupants. That is, the most important sections in the event of a collision. The MX-30 with 5 stars, but ... Despite this, the electric company obtained 73% in the safety assistance systems. To which must be added a meager 68% for the collision avoidance capabilities of vulnerable road users. For example, cyclists. Euro NCAP described the latter score as a 'poor test result'. In addition to noting that the car lacks the "more advanced functionalities, such as intervention in the steering." Michael van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP, said that the latest five-star ratings “demonstrate that the new 2020 protocols adopted by Euro NCAP are having a tangible impact on the safety equipment and crash protection of models. of European cars, including the latest electrified vehicles. ' The other side of the coin in Euro NCAP The Honda Jazz is an opposite example of how to achieve five stars in this safety program. It is a compact that has obtained the worst results in its category, in sections such as the protection of adult occupants (87%) and protection of child occupants (83%). However, by reaching higher scores in collision avoidance systems for vulnerable road users (80%) and in safety assistance systems (76%), it has managed to equal the highest score with the Mazda. The accolades for this car, therefore, have centered on "more up-to-date safety equipment", including new autonomous emergency braking systems. Although it also managed to attract the attention of the organization with its new centrally mounted airbag.

People with diabetes must pay special attention to their diet, since the intake of certain foods can cause a rapid rise in blood glucose with serious consequences for them. The Scalpel offers tips for acquiring essential eating habits for the treatment and control of diabetes Exhibition of vegetables, among them, cabbage, cauliflower and red cabbage. EFE / Marshal The Alphabet of Nutrition focuses on diabetes on the occasion of its World Day, November 14. Diet in diabetic people is a very important part of their treatment. "According to numerous clinical studies, a proper diet has the value of a real treatment," says Laura González, Nestlé's Head of Nutrition and Health. It is also essential to achieve and maintain optimal metabolic balance, reduce cardiovascular risk, and prevent and treat potential complications. The main scientific societies recommend, in addition to controlling blood sugar, maintaining normal levels of cholesterol, triglycerides in the blood and blood pressure. "This will help prevent the onset of cardiovascular diseases related to diabetes," explains González. The glycemic index is a theoretical value that guides the ability of a food to increase blood glucose. To establish it, the index of each food is compared with that produced by the same amount of glucose, which is given the value of 100. Foods with an index greater than 70 are considered to have a high glycemic index and would cause a rapid rise in blood glucose. On the contrary, foods with an index below 55 would cause a lower and gradual increase. Diet and diabetes: some guidelines For better disease control, people with diabetes should promote low / medium glycemic index foods such as legumes, vegetables, and whole grains. In addition, you must ensure protein intake and control fat intake. “It is important to drink around two liters of water, that is, between eight and ten glasses a day. This serves to preserve kidney function, hydrate the skin and reduce the risk of constipation ”, indicates the nutritionist. A proper diet has the value of an authentic treatment / EFE / Carlos de Sáa González also recommends a diet rich in vegetable fiber with a double objective: to improve glycemic control and reduce cholesterol. Fiber can also help reduce cardiovascular risk and achieve an appropriate body weight. "You have to try to promote foods rich in fiber such as vegetables, legumes and nuts," he advises. Another recommendation has to do with controlling the consumption of table salt. Pay attention to salty foods such as cold cuts, snacks or aged cheeses. What should be avoided? It is not recommended in the diet of people with diabetes the habitual intake of alcohol, since it hinders the release of glucose by the liver. To this must be added that it can cause severe hypoglycemia. In the case of diet products, the nutritionist affirms that "it is a mistake to think that people with diabetes can freely consume products labeled as tolerated by diabetics." People with diabetes must especially control the total carbohydrates that make up their diet throughout the day. "These statements are not a guarantee that they can be freely consumed in uncontrolled quantities," he says. Many of these foods are made with fructose, which being sweeter than common sugar is used in less quantity, but it is still a sugar. There would be no problem in including them in the diet if their composition is known and the corresponding calculation is made. The diabetic patient can eat practically everything in the prescribed amounts, but you have to pay attention to certain foods. Some fruits, like mangoes, have high levels of sugar. The recommended ration for a diabetic is half a mango / Photo: Research & Development, Mexico "Some foods should be avoided or limited due to their high content of rapidly absorbed sugars, cholesterol or saturated fats," recommends the nutrition expert. Fruits, like vegetables, contain a lot of fiber, although not all contain the same amount of sugars. “We must be especially careful with the portions. A small apple will be a portion, while for a banana or mango the portion will be medium ”, he warns. In addition to a proper diet and drug treatment, moderate physical exercise also plays an important role in people with diabetes.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) is already notifying citizens that they have been elected to be members of the Vote Receiving Boards (JRV) for the presidential and legislative elections to be held in Ecuador on February 7, 2021. What is the penalty for not attending the trainings? Diana Atamaint, president of the CNE, said that those chosen as members of the Vote Receiving Boards must attend the training (face-to-face or virtual) to which they will be summoned. Failure to attend the trainings, in accordance with the sanctions provided in the Democracy Code, will be a penalty of 10% of the Unified Basic Salary (SBU); that is $ 40. How much is the fine for JRV members who do not go to the polling station? If you do not attend the JRV on election day, the fine will be 15% of salary: $ 60. Those who fail to comply with both (not going to training and not presenting as a member of the JRV) must cancel both fines : $ 100. What if I don't vote either? The fine for those who do not vote, without justification, is also 40% of the SBU, that is, $ 40. The CNE recalls that, as in past electoral processes, who, being a member of the JRV, does not receive training, does not attend to fulfill his duty and does not vote, he must pay fines for each breach. In summary, if you have been designated a member of the JRV and - without justification - you do not attend the trainings, do not attend the polling station and do not vote, the accumulated fine will be $ 140. The members of the JRV will not only verify the correct development of the vote, but will also scrutinize the ballots. The $ 10 payment to JRV members is included in the electoral budget The members of a polling station, holders and alternates, must be present at the JRV facility before 7:00 to sign their attendance and the installation act. If the holders of a table are full, they assume the leadership; if they are not, the substitutes will replace them in the order established by the draw. From this electoral process, in addition, the members of the JRV will not be able to abandon their functions without justification until the counting is finished and the electoral documents are signed. If this fault is proven, considered a serious electoral infraction, the sanction ranges from 11 to 20 basic salaries, dismissal or suspension of political rights for up to two years. How do I know if I am a member of a polling station? Notifications, the CNE reported, are made in various ways. As in previous processes, elected citizens will be able to inform themselves as follows: *Via email *By text messages *For the electric power worksheet *By mass circulation print media *And through the CNE website. Follow these steps to see if you are a member of the Vote Receiving Board In the following form, enter the requested data: *ID number. *Surname and full names. *Enter the security code displayed on the screen. *Press the "Consult" button. When making the query, the province, constituency to which it belongs, Canton, Parish, Area and also the electoral precinct with the respective address and the number of the table where you must vote are detailed. If a person has been designated by the CNE as a member of the Vote Receiving Board, at the time of entering the data the system will notify them, informing them if they are a main or alternate member. The abundant request for information can take a while for the system to give you an answer. Last November 9, 272,853 citizens were selected by lottery for 38,979 JRVs in Ecuador and 4,410 people for 936 JRVs in three districts abroad. Biosafety Measures against COVID-19 As part of the biosecurity measures due to the pandemic in the next elections, the citizen who comes to vote will no longer deliver the identity card to the members of the Vote Receiving Board (JRV) but will only show it and must remove the mask to verify that it is the same person. In this way, an attempt is made to reduce the possible contagion of COVID-19 on the day of the electoral process, which will be Sunday, February 7, 2021 and in which 13'099,150 citizens are enabled. Within the electoral packages, the CNE offers to include a biosecurity kit for the members of the JRVs.
