Did you ever feel like you were a superhero just waiting for your true calling? Well, turns out you were right. There is a way you can donate your spare computer power to researchers and scientists that will use it to beat COVID19! Just follow the steps below and donate your processing power whenever you go to sleep so it can (literally) be used to save lives. Step 1. Download (click here for Windows) and install the Folding@Home client We would recommend installing it using custom settings and limiting the client to run only when you click it (manual mode). Otherwise, the client will start every time you boot the PC. Mac OS and Linux users may download the client from here. Step 2. Setup the client and join team# 237039 The first thing you want to do is run the client and then click on "create new identity" You can now enter your name, the team number (237039) and also get yourself a passkey to make sure no one else can use your name: You can also modify other settings such as power usage and whether you want the client to only use idle power or all available power. Step 3: Beat the Coronavirus! If you have successfully done all of the above, the Folding@Home client should kick in and should allocate a project to you. This team will get projects related to the coronavirus on priority. Both your CPU and GPU should be green and spinning if everything is going correctly. This initial wave of projects focuses on better understanding how these coronaviruses interact with the human ACE2 receptor required for viral entry into human host cells, and how researchers might be able to interfere with them through the design of new therapeutic antibodies or small molecules that might disrupt their interaction.

Jira Cloud is the latest solution to offer no-code capabilities to its users. Atlassian has announced no-code automation is now available natively in Jira Cloud. “Even the most inspiring initiatives can get bogged down in the monotony of everyday tasks, like manually assigning work or sending passive-aggressive reminders to update a status. It’s everyone’s fantasy to cast aside that busywork and focus on the meaningful challenges we signed up for,” Matt Ryall, head of product for Jira Software, wrote in a post. The capabilities come from the company’s acquisition of Automation for Jira last October. Automation for Jira is a no-code rules builder. “Imagine creating an issue and seeing its sub-tasks po[CENSORED]ted instantly. Or automatically linking two issues when one of them is mentioned inside the other. How about some automated onboarding and permissioning? These are just a tiny fraction of the possibilities,” Noah Wasmer, head of tech teams at Atlassian, wrote at the time of the acquisition. The new release features the ability to automate tedious and repetitive tasks; ability to organize teams, tools and process; ability to work across Jira Cloud products; integration with collaboration tools, and automates process spanning DevOps and IT operations teams. “And, perhaps most importantly, it’s easy to use. You’ll have more power, without the complexity. According to a survey of existing Automation for Jira customers, more than half of people who have automated their work with Jira say it saves them more than six hours per month, and 87 percent say it helps them scale the way their organizations work,” Ryall wrote. Additionally, users can drag and drop if-this-then-that rules together. Some use cases include keeping Jira up to date with rules like “if the last task for a bug fix changes to ‘done,’ close the parent issue and notify the support team,” and the ability to discover potential problems before they become an issue with rules like “if an urgent issue is raised by the CTO, send a Slack message to the support room and set SLA.” “We envision a world where developers spend less of their valuable time in Jira (yes, really), and more time building valuable assets. Automation is now available out of the box to every user across the entire Jira Cloud family,” Ryall added.

France has ordered the closure of all non-essential places used by the public from midnight (23:00 GMT Saturday) as the coronavirus outbreak spreads. PM Edouard Philippe said the number of people in intensive care was growing and earlier guidelines for the public were being ignored. Spain has confirmed a 15-day lockdown as part of emergency measures. With 191 deaths and 6,046 infections, Spain is the worst-hit country in Europe after Italy. Rome declared a nationwide lockdown on Monday. More than 1,440 people have died in Italy. Meanwhile the US is to extend its European coronavirus travel ban to include the UK and Republic of Ireland. The ban will begin at midnight EST on Monday (04:00 GMT Tuesday), Vice-President Mike Pence announced. On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Europe was now the "epicentre" of the pandemic. Its head Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged countries to use aggressive measures, community mobilisation and social distancing to save lives. What does the French shutdown entail? The measure applies to restaurants, cafes, cinemas and nightclubs as well as non-essential businesses. It would not, Mr Philippe said, affect essential businesses which he listed as food shops, chemists, banks, tobacco shops and petrol stations. Mr Philippe also asked people to reduce their travel, especially between towns. "The best way to slow down the epidemic", he said, was "social distancing". "I say this gravely - we must all together show greater discipline in the application of these measures," Mr Philippe added. However local elections due on Sunday would also still go ahead. he said. Religious buildings would remain open but gatherings and ceremonies should be postponed. France reported a sharp rise in cases on Saturday, from 3,661 to 4,499. It recorded 12 more deaths, bringing the toll to 79. The BBC's Paris correspondent Hugh Schofield says the measures amount to a dramatic ratcheting up of the French response reflecting growing alarm at the fast spread of the virus. What is happening in Spain? After a lengthy meeting of the country's government cabinet, Spanish Prime minister Pedro Sánchez said a partial lockdown would be in place across the country, with the armed forces on standby to assist with relief efforts. All shops will be forced to close, except for those selling food and other basic necessities. There will also be a reduction in medium-distance rail traffic to stem the spread of people around the country, and economic measures to support businesses and workers. Mr Sánchez said the state of emergency could be extended with congressional approval. Authorities recorded 1,800 more cases since Friday evening - many in the capital Madrid. This will be the second state of emergency in the country since the transition to democracy began in 1975, the first being a 2010 air traffic controllers' strike.

Well, I'm very bipolar with names, I can see a better name and I can try to create a new one with originality, but now I've got a name that I like, it didn't come out of my head, but because of a type of dark music that I listen to , and I made a promise to myself that I would not change it anymore, I will only edit it

Europe is now the "epicentre" of the global coronavirus pandemic, the head of the World Health Organization says. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged countries to use aggressive measures, community mobilisation and social distancing to save lives. "Do not just let this fire burn," he said. His comments came as several European countries reported steep rises in infections and deaths. Italy has recorded its highest daily toll yet. There were 250 deaths recorded over the past 24 hours, taking the total to 1,266, with 17,660 infections overall. Spain, the worst-affected European country after Italy, reported a 50% jump in fatalities to 120 on Friday. Infections increased to 4,231. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez says a state of alert will come into effect there on Saturday for two weeks. Controls are also being introduced at an increasing number of borders in Europe, in response to rapid spread of the virus. Why is Europe the 'epicentre'? More than 132,500 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in 123 countries around the world, according to the WHO. The total number of deaths has reached about 5,000 - a figure Dr Tedros described as "a tragic milestone". "Europe has now become the epicentre of the pandemic, with more reported cases and deaths than the rest of the world combined, apart from China," he said. "More cases are now being reported every day than were reported in China at the height of its epidemic." As well as the increases in Spain and Italy, France has now confirmed 2,876 cases and 79 deaths, up from a total of 61 deaths on Thursday. Germany has seen 3,062 cases and five deaths. There have been 798 confirmed infections in the UK and 11 deaths. What are European countries doing about it? Announcing the state of alert in Spain, Mr Sanchez said the government would "mobilise all the resources of state to better protect the health of all of its citizens". It will be able to limit movement, order evacuations, prohibit access to certain places and intervene in industry for up to 15 days. "Victory depends on every single one of us," Mr Sanchez said. "Heroism is also about washing your hands and staying at home." All but "essential travel" to parts of Spain should be avoided, says the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Italy has imposed a nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, at least 10 other countries in Europe are enforcing border closures, including: Denmark: Closes borders to non-citizens from Saturday Czech Republic: Bans all foreigners from entering the country, except those with residence permits. Bans most of its own nationals from leaving Slovakia: Closes borders to all foreigners except those with a residence permit. Austria: Closes three land border crossings with Italy to all foreigners, except those with a medical certificate issued within four days. No restriction on Austrian nationals Ukraine: Closes border crossings to foreigners (except diplomats) for two weeks Hungary: Closes land borders with Austria and Slovenia Poland: From Sunday will close borders to foreign visitors Belgium, France, Switzerland and parts of Germany are among the latest countries to close schools. There are also widespread curbs on large gatherings and measures to close theatres, restaurants and bars. Germany's Bundesliga, the only one of the big five European football leagues still being played, is to suspend games in the top two divisions from Tuesday. Paris's Louvre - the largest art museum in the world - announced it would close from Friday, as will the Eiffel Tower.

NVIDIA's GTC 2020 keynote received another blow. Originally scheduled to be delivered (for the 11th consecutive year) on March 22-26 at the San Jose Convention Center, with a crowd of up to ten thousand participants, the GTC 2020 keynote was moved to an online-only event earlier this month as coronavirus concerns started to mount even in the United States. Yesterday, though, NVIDIA announced that 'continuing public health uncertainties would challenge its ability to produce and deliver a digital keynote'. As such, the company will stick to news releases expected to hit on Tuesday, March 24th, and followed by an investor call with NVIDIA founder and Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang. This call will begin at 8 AM Pacific time and will be accessible at investor.nvidia.com. Other components of GTC Digital will still take place, including live webinars, recorded talks and panels, research posters, trainings, and Connect with Experts sessions available starting Wednesday, March 25. More details will be provided in the coming days. We don't know yet what kind of announcements were in the cards from NVIDIA at GTC 2020. Usually, it's not where new graphics cards for consumers are revealed, as GTC is rather focused on deep learning and other AI-related news. However, recent rumors pointed to an imminent reveal of NVIDIA's next-generation architecture, Ampere. Usual leaker _Rogame spotted two unknown NVIDIA GPUs featuring up to 40% higher performance when compared to the RTX Titan, thanks to the high core counts (7552 CUDA cores and 6912 CUDA cores, respectively). The performance of these two cards was estimated to be 16.7 and 13.9 TFLOPS, respectively. These may not even be the gaming variants, which will likely be clocked higher. Ampere is expected to be NVIDIA's first architecture to use the 7nm manufacturing process (by Samsung), leading to reports of 50% higher performance and doubled efficiency compared to the Turing architecture. To learn if that's indeed what NVIDIA had in store for the now-canceled GTC 2020 keynote, tune in on Wccftech come Tuesday, March 24th to learn everything about the announcements.

Google launched the beta of Cloud AI Platform Pipelines, which combines repeatable machine learning pipelines along with monitoring, auditing, version tracking, and reproducibility. It aims to deliver an enterprise-ready, easy to install, secure execution environment for ML workflows. AI Platform Pipelines were created because machine learning workflows can involve many steps with dependencies on each other, making it difficult to compose and track the processes in an ad-hoc manner, according to Google. Cloud AI Platform pipelines support two SDKs to create ML pipelines: the Kubeflow Pipelines SDK—part of the Kubeflow OSS project, enabling direct Kubernetes resource control and simple sharing of containerized components; and the TensorFlow (TFX) SDK, which provides higher-level abstraction with prescriptive, but customizable components with predefined ML types. The Kubeflow Pipelines SDK is a lower-level SDK and ML-framework-neutral. It enables fully custom pipelines or prebuilt pipelines with KFP components. In the TFX SDK, the automatic metadata tracking logs the artifacts used in each pipeline step, pipeline parameters, and the linkage across the input/output artifacts, as well as the pipeline steps that created and consumed them. “ML workflows typically involve creating and tracking multiple types of artifacts—things like models, data statistics, model evaluation metrics, and many more. With AI Platform Pipelines UI, it’s easy to keep track of artifacts for an ML pipeline,” Anush Ramesh, product manager and Amy Unruh, staff developer advocate at Google, wrote in a blog post. To make it easier for developers to get started with ML pipeline code, the TFX SDK provides templates, or scaffolds, with step-by-step guidance on building a production ML pipeline. Developers can then incrementally add different components to the pipeline and iterate on them, the team explained. According to Google, AI Platform Pipelines offers: Push-button installation via the Google Cloud Console Enterprise features for running ML workloads, including pipeline versioning, automatic metadata tracking of artifacts and executions, Cloud Logging, visualization tools, and more Seamless integration with Google Cloud managed services like BigQuery, Dataflow, AI Platform Training and Serving, Cloud Functions, and many others Many prebuilt pipeline components (pipeline steps) for ML workflows, with easy construction of your own custom components The beta launch of AI Platform Pipelines also includes a number of new features, including support for template-based pipeline construction, versioning, and automatic artifact and lineage tracking.

Intel’s ongoing rampage of security vulnerabilities continues as yet another vulnerability has been discovered, this time in Intel's CSME device. Since January of 2018, the list of these vulnerabilities continues to grow, and quite frankly, this is unacceptable, and this one is no different. It’s been over two years since the initial Meltdown and Spectre discovery, yet researchers continue to find more. There is one primary aspect of the new flaw that has differed from the others, though; this being that it cannot be fixed. What is Intel’s Converged Security & Management Engine (CSME)? Intel’s Converged Security & Management Engine has been implemented in virtually all Intel chipsets since 2008 and is built into Intel’s PCH, and since then, has raised quite a bit of speculation as to what it actually does. CSME runs on what was supposed to be an isolated x86 microprocessor-based upon the i486. This 32-bit microprocessor contains its own SRAM and firmware ROM and as of Version 11, is known to run the MINIX 3 operating system. The CSME microprocessor continues to run when the system is off, as long as a source of power is available. Little documentation is available for CSME, and because of that, the idea of having a second microprocessor onboard modern Intel motherboards that have total control over the system’s hardware, even when the system is off, is somewhat controversial. Intel has gone to the extent of using Huffman tables, a type of encoding that no individual can understand without official documentation, and with the mystery of what CSME does, multiple users over the last few years have attempted to disable CSME. Various methods have been found to ‘disable’ CSME, but none of these methods completely do so. These methods essentially put the CSME microprocessor into a low power state, specifically where the chip no longer executed any code but continues to run suspended. Intel Converged Security & Management Engine (CSME) Vulnerability - CPUs & Chipsets Affected Due to the design of Intel's CSME, during the boot process, CSME becomes vulnerable to exploitation. The primary issue with CSME is that this is purely a hardware level issue, or, more specifically, is completely irreparable without a total hardware replacement, therefore compromising the entire platform's integrity. Since attacks may be launched on a local, hardware basis, malicious code completely bypasses all OS-level protection and may instantly target data stored on the system. Essentially, the possible result of an attack could lead to complete decryption of storage devices, falsified hardware identification, and data protected by DRM. CSME has been patched before, though, this time, it looks as if the measures required to secure a system are in a different league than before. This is bad news for Intel users across the board as the only method of securing their systems is to upgrade to 10th Generation Intel CPUs and motherboards as those products are immune to the CSME flaw, go back nearly ten years to a legacy Intel platform before CSME's integration, or switch to AMD.

President Xi Jinping has visited the city of Wuhan, the centre of the coronavirus outbreak, sending a message that Beijing has the situation under control. His visit comes as China recorded its lowest number of infections, just 19 on Tuesday, all in Wuhan apart from two who had arrived from overseas. China has seen 80,754 confirmed cases, 3,136 of whom have died. The visit was Mr Xi's first trip to the city since the outbreak began. According to state media, Mr Xi arrived in Wuhan on Tuesday to inspect epidemic prevention and control work in the province. Wuhan and its province, Hubei, have been locked down in order to prevent the spread of the disease. The president visited a community in the city currently in self-quarantine. During his visit, Mr Xi declared that the spread of the disease had been "basically curbed" in Hubei province and Wuhan. "Initial success has been made in stabilising the situation and turning the tide in Hubei and Wuhan," he said. Chinese state media quoted analysts as saying Mr Xi's visit had sent a "strong signal to the entire country and the world that China is ascending out of the darkest moment amid the outbreak". The president also visited Huoshenshan hospital, a temporary facility that was completed in 10 days. Images from his visit show the president speaking to staff and patients via video link. Shortly after his visit, state media confirmed that all 14 of the temporary hospitals in China had now been closed. It is unclear how long Mr Xi will stay in the city. Zhang Ming, a professor at Renmin University, told Reuters news agency: "He is there now to reap the harvest. His being there means the Communist Party of China (CCP) may declare victory against the virus soon." Images of Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping visiting Wuhan will be seen as more than just reassuring to the people of China that the coronavirus emergency is now pretty much under control. It is also like a nationwide green light. It is a way of sending out a signal that the return to "normality" should carry on apace. After all, if the most important person in the country now feels that it is safe enough to enter the belly of the monster then surely others can return to work in their own cities, most of which have seen zero new infections recently. True, when Xi Jinping "visited" patients at the newly built Huoshenshan quarantine ward this was done via video link. However, you would hardly expect the country's leader to go up and give them a hug. To see him just being in the city probably means that parts of Hubei will be opened up very soon with a resumption of transport links at least within the province, along with more shops opening their doors. Elsewhere in China, things are going to start moving much more quickly. Mr Xi has been notably absent from Chinese state media coverage of the virus. However, CGTN said on Tuesday that Mr Xi had been "personally directing the disease prevention and control work". His deputy, Vice President Li Keqiang, visited Wuhan in January. Last week, Vice Premier Sun Chunlan visited a Wuhan housing community where she received a hostile reception from residents who claimed the area had been cleaned up for her visit. As the number of infections rapidly decreases, there are signs that life in China is slowly returning to normal. In Qinghai province, the first batch of 144 senior schools and secondary vocational schools reopened on Monday. On Monday, state media said Tianhe Airport in Wuhan was preparing to reopen but no official date had been set. Disneyland Shanghai says it has partially reopened. The main theme park is still closed but the shops and restaurants have reopened.
