  3. iPhone SE (2022) was finally launched at the virtual Apple event on Tuesday (March 😎 as the company's latest budget iPhone model, after being a part of the rumour mill for months. The new iPhone SE is an upgrade to the iPhone SE (2020) that was introduced in April 2020. In terms of an upgraded experience, the iPhone SE (2022) offers 5G connectivity and is powered by the A15 Bionic chip that was introduced last year. The previous model, in contrast, came with 4G support and an A13 Bionic chip. The iPhone SE (2022) also features an improved rear camera. Alongside the three major hardware-level upgrades, the new iPhone SE shares the same design language that was introduced almost two years back. iPhone SE (2022) price in India, availability iPhone SE (2022) price in India starts at Rs. 43,900 for the base 64GB model. The new iPhone also comes in 128GB and 256GB variants that are priced at Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 58,900, respectively. In the US, the iPhone SE (2022) starts at $429 (roughly Rs. 33,000). The new iPhone SE comes in Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT) RED colours and will go on pre-orders in markets including India starting this Friday, with its availability starting from March 18. The iPhone SE (2020) was launched at a starting price of Rs. 42,500 for the 64GB storage model. It also came in the 128GB option at Rs. 47,800 and the 256GB storage variant at Rs. 58,300. The last model also debuted in the US with a starting price of $399 (roughly Rs. 30,700). Along with the new iPhone SE (2022), Apple also introduced a new green colour option for the iPhone 13 and Alpine Green for the iPhone 13 Pro families. iPhone SE (2022) specifications The iPhone SE (2022) runs on iOS 15. It features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a 750x1,334 pixels resolution that brings 326ppi of pixel density and has up to 625 nits of peak brightness. Overall, the display on the iPhone SE (2022) seems identical to the one featured on the previous iPhone SE model. The company has, though, claimed that the new iPhone SE carries the "toughest glass in a smartphone" on the front and back. The glass protection is the same as on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. The new model also comes with an IP67-certified build. Under the hood, the iPhone SE (2022) carries the A15 Bionic chip that is also available on the iPhone 13 series. The presence of the A15 Bionic chip on the new iPhone SE is claimed to deliver up to 1.8 times faster CPU performance over the iPhone 8. It also brings features including Live Text. The new iPhone also comes with a single 12-megapixel camera sensor on the back with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens — just like the previous iPhone SE. However, the rear camera sensor includes improvements — including an improved visual processing. The rear camera on the iPhone SE (2022) supports features including Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, and Photographic Styles. It also supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps. The camera is also protected by a sapphire crystal lens cover. For selfies and video chats, the iPhone SE (2022) offers a 7-megapixel camera sensor at the front, along with an f/2.2 lens. The selfie camera supports Portrait Lighting with six effects — Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono, and High-Key Mono. It also includes Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4 for photos, and Photographic Styles. Apple has enabled 1080p video recording from the selfie camera of the new iPhone SE. There is also support for time-lapse video and night mode time-lapse. The iPhone SE (2022) comes with connectivity options including 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a Lightning port. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, three-axis gyroscope, and proximity sensor. Similar to the last model, the iPhone SE (2022) comes with a Touch ID button that includes a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The new iPhone SE is touted to deliver an "all-day battery life". Apple also claimed that the built-in battery on the iPhone SE (2022) delivers up to 15 hours of video playback or up to 50 hours of audio playback on a single charge. In contrast, the iPhone SE (2020) was rated to deliver up to 13 hours of video playback time and 40 hours of audio playback time. The new iPhone SE comes with Qi standard-based wireless charging support. It also includes fast 20W wired charging. Supported charger has, however, not included in the retail box.
  4. Mozilla has updated its Firefox web browser across all available platforms to version 98, with a refreshed look for iOS and Android, and an easier way to download files. Since its refreshed look in 2021 called Proton, Firefox has been busy working on smaller refinements to improve the overall experience of its web browser across desktop and mobile devices. But this also applies to Firefox on iOS and Android, where its appearance has been inspired by Apple's efforts to refine its Safari browser. That's right, the Firefox mobile browser address bar is now at the bottom of the interface, alongside being able to set a wallpaper to the main page. Version 98 is available for everyone on the web, while you can download or update the web browser from the App Store or Google Play Store. How are Downloads improved in Firefox 98? Clearly, this is a release focused on how and where you download files. It's something many of us do almost every time we use a web browser. Back in the days of Internet Explorer, you could only download one file at a time, with a window that displayed the progress on a dial-up modem. Thankfully the web has moved on since then, but Mozilla has improved download management further with Firefox 98: Go To Download Page: Locates the download reference page even after leaving the site or closing the tab. Copy Download Link: Copies the download link to let you share it or save it. Show In Folder: Opens the folder that contains your downloaded files. Remove From History: Removes a file from your list of downloaded files. Clear Preview Panel: Clears the list of downloaded items in the preview panel that opens when you start a download. Always Open Similar Files: Makes Firefox automatically open downloaded files of the same type with the system default application. As we approach version 100 in the coming months, we may see more refinements to Mozilla's web browser to mark the big number. But even if we don't, better management of your downloaded files is still a big win for your workflow.
  5. Nvidia will likely continue making and selling its RTX 30-series graphics cards even after it launches its next-generation "Ada" GPUs. The company's CFO, Colette Kress, suggested as much at Morgan Stanley's Technology, Media and Telecom Conference. PCMag first reported on Kress' comments. The Covid-19 pandemic and the supply chain issues it exacerbated gave Nvidia an "opportunity" for the gaming side of the business to sell both RTX 30-series and Turing-architecture based RTX 20-series graphics cards, Kress said. "So we’ve been doing that to provide more and more supply to our gamers," Kress said. "And we may see something like that continue in the future. It was successful with Ampere and we'll see as we move forward.” Nvidia has continued to produce the RTX 2060 alongside RTX 3000 cards and even made a new version with 12GB of memory in December to make more GPUs available during the component shortage, though even that stock was scarce. There's also still the upcoming RTX 2050 mobile solution, which will arrive in the coming months. Nvidia's next-gen graphics cards, which will presumably be the RTX 40-series, are likely to launch in phases. Typically, Nvidia has launched with its top-end cards and followed up with lower tier variants, sometimes launching 12 months or more later. It wouldn't be surprising to see an RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and perhaps RTX 4070 launch first, with the RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 sticking around as entry and mid-level cards. That pattern happened as the Turing-based GTX 1650 and GTX 1660 cards stuck around with the new, Ampere-based RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 leading the charge. In that way, Nvidia has been selling cards from different generations side by side for a long time. It isn't uncommon for any chipmaker to continue to produce older silicon. On the CPU side, for instance, Intel and AMD typically produce older chips for several generations. In this case, though, the cards are being kept around in order to continue to satisfy the needs of gamers who haven't been able to upgrade to the best graphics cards due to the shortages. "We believe the supply will improve each quarter of this year," Kress said. "And we feel like we'll be in a solid position when we look at the second half of this year." Still, Kress is suggesting, if not confirming, this strategy will continue, and that keeping old GPUs around may be necessary to keep enough GPUs in the channel so Nvidia can meet demand. Kress stressed Nvidia was not ready to announce any new products at the investor event, though we "may hear more" about upcoming plans at GTC. The recent Nvidia hack has resulted in a wealth of information about Nvidia's upcoming GPU plans, and all indications are that we'll see Ada and RTX 40-series graphics cards this fall.
  6. Musician Name: Mariah Carey Birthday / Location: Mariah Carey March 27, 1969 (age 52) Huntington; New York Main instrument: R&B · hip hop · pop · soul Musician Picture: Musician Awards & Nominations:- Best Performance: - Other Information: Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1969) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. Renowned for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style and unique use of the whistle register, she is referred to as the "Supreme Bird" and "Queen of Christmas". Throughout her career, Carey has been considered one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in recorded music history. She is credited with influencing the vocal construction of many artists of diverse musical genres and as one of the first artists to po[CENSORED]rize hip hop and the practice of remixes in po[CENSORED]r music. Under the guidance of her ex-husband, executive Tommy Mottola, Carey rose to fame in the early 1990s after signing to Sony Music and releasing her eponymous debut album, which topped the Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks. The work made her the only artist in history to have her first five songs from work reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions". The artist's po[CENSORED]rity continued to grow with her subsequent albums Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Merry Christmas (1994), the latter being the most purchased Christmas album of all time. In addition to producing several other number one hits, including "Dreamlover", "Hero", "Without You" and "All I Want for Christmas Is You". With Daydream (1995), Carey made history when her second single, "One Sweet Day", a duet with Boyz II Men, scored sixteen consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, a record held for 23 years. After parting ways with Mottola, she adopted a new image and incorporated more hip hop elements into her works, which was evident with the release of Butterfly (1997) and Rainbow (1999). After eleven consecutive years of charting number one singles in the US, she left Sony in 2000 and signed a $100 million record deal with Virgin Records. However, after having a highly publicized physical and emotional breakdown, as well as the critical and commercial failure of her film Glitter (2001) and its corresponding soundtrack, Virgin terminated her contract for 50 million and she signed with Island the following year. . After a relatively unsuccessful period, her follow-up albums The Emancipation of Mimi (2005) and E=MC² (2008) brought her back to the top of the charts and had the songs "We Belong Together" and "Touch My Body" at the top of the charts. Billboard Hot 100. However, since Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009), she has again experienced relative success with her releases. His work has earned him three Book of Records entries, five Grammys, 21 American Music Awards, 21 World Music Awards, and several others, in addition to the titles of "Icon of the Industry" and "Artist of the 1990s" and 19 singles. at number one in the United States — more than any other female artist of the Billboard Hot 100 era. Carey became the first artist to debut three songs at the top of that chart, the most of any other musician. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the most certified woman in the United States, based on her 68.5 million units accounted for. Worldwide it has distributed 200 million recordings, which makes it a record holder in sales. VH1 ranked her second on their list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music, while music magazine Rolling Stone recognized her as one of the 100 Greatest Vocalists of All Time. In 2019, Billboard magazine named her the fifth best-performing musician of all time on its charts.

  11. Samsung Galaxy S22 series and previous Galaxy S-series phones have been delisted by cross-platform benchmarking app Geekbench over a performance throttling issue that came to last last week. The phones include Samsung's preloaded Game Optimizing Service app that appeared to slow down the performance of thousands of apps, including a list of non-gaming apps. Shortly after the throttling was reported by some users on the Web last week, Samsung acknowledged its existence and promised to address user concerns through an update. Geekbench said in a thread posted on Twitter that it has decided to delist the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra — alongside all models in the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and the Galaxy S10 series. The decision came as a result of extensive internal testing, the benchmark app said. It also noted that the performance throttling by Samsung is considered as a “form of benchmark mani[CENSORED]tion” as major benchmark apps including Geekbench are not throttled by the preloaded Game Optimizing Service. Samsung promised to address user reports on throttling through a software update. However, Geekbench developer John Poole told Gadgets 360 that the delisting was permanent. “This is the fifth time we've had to delist phones so we've started increasing the severity of the measures we're taking. My hope is this is the last time we see this issue,” Poole said. Last year, OnePlus was spotted using a similar mechanism to throttle the performance of apps on the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. Geekbench as a result delisted the phones from its benchmark app. OnePlus also later clarified that the system-level slowdown was aimed to “provide a smooth experience while reducing power consumption.” Delisting means that the recent Samsung Galaxy S-series phones are no longer available on the Geekbench app for performance comparisons with other phones. An email sent to Samsung on the update did not elicit a comment at the time of filing this article.
  12. There could soon be no escape from a quick Microsoft Teams catch-up after the company released a new update that makes setting up a call easier than ever. The video conferencing service will soon let users cast directly from their desktop to Microsoft Teams Rooms hardware, meaning there's no need for a formal meeting any more. Instead, users can employ the new Teams casting feature to wirelessly connect to a Teams Room, no matter where in the world they are. Microsoft Teams casting In its entry in the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the company says it sees the upgrade as ideal for quick ad-hoc sessions that don't require setting up a formal meeting. The feature will work across Windows and Mac versions of the Teams desktop client, with users able to broadcast their screen and cast content stored locally on their computer or accessible via Office 365. The feature is still listed as "in development", but Microsoft has listed a general availability date of March 2022, so you shouldn't have to wait too long. The tool will be made generally available to desktop users everywhere upon release. The news is the latest example of Microsoft Teams working in harmony with other services and products in a bid for improved efficiency. Recently, Microsoft revealed that users will soon be able to add apps built for Microsoft Teams across Office.com and the Office app for Windows, meaning there's now no need to switch between platforms in order to use specific apps. The company is also working on a new feature that will let users run apps built for Microsoft Teams within its Outlook email service. The move should make online collaboration and communication a much more seamless and smoother experience, meaning users shouldn't need to constantly switch between Teams and Outlook to stay on top of their work. Microsoft Teams continues to go from strength to strength, with the latest figures from the company showing that the service now boasts over 270 million monthly active users. Here's our pick of the best online collaboration tools around
  13. Asus has decided to add wireless connectivity options to its ROG Strix Scope keyboard line. These po[CENSORED]r mechanical gaming keyboards are typically solidly built and attractive, so adding a both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz RF (requires USB dongle) options looks certain to broaden their appeal and convenience in use. Plus it makes them eligible for a spot on our best wireless keyboards list. The first two members of the Asus ROG Strix mechanical gaming keyboard family to get an Asus' Tri-Mode connectivity upgrade are the ROG Strix Scope NX Wireless Deluxe, and ROG Strix Scope RX TKL Wireless Deluxe. Yes, they are basically the same keyboard with the same specs (barring the obvious size, weight, and number of keys) in full and ten key less (TKL) sized choices. As the wireless feature is the headlining change here, let's look more closely at it first. As mentioned above, adding both the Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz RF connection options to a device with a wired option results in a tri-mode connectivity device. Asus has provided similar connectivity options with its gaming mice previously, however its gaming keyboards are mostly wired. Just two keyboards currently offer dual-mode connectivity options: the ROG Falchion and ROG Claymore II both offer wired connections and 2.4 GHz RF. While the wired and 2.4 GHz modes should probably be your first choice for any fast paced gaming, Bluetooth opens up a lot of flexibility for the user. For example, you might leave the cable or 2.4GHz dongle in your desktop PC and use the Bluetooth mode for controlling your home theatre PC or even a phone or tablet. Bluetooth is also a good option for keyboard input with smart TVs. One unhappy aspect of going wireless is that batteries add cost and eventually wear out. Asus says the battery lasts about 215 hours in either Bluetooth or RF mode with lighting off. However, the default RGB backlighting scheme knocks that down significantly to 78 hours with Bluetooth, or 60 hours with RF. Asus has implemented an ROG logo light battery level indicator, changing from green to blue to red, as your battery level reduces. The provided USB cable will charge your keyboard battery, as well as being useful for connectivity. Other attractive shared features of the ROG Strix Scope NX (RX TKL) Wireless Deluxe keyboards are the ROG RX Optical Mechanical Switches, a wide Ctrl key for FPS players, PBT keycaps for durability, Aura Sync RGB lighting, a matching magnetic wrist rest with leatherette finish, and sandblasted texture alloy top plate. With regard to the optical switches installed, buyers have a choice of three key actuation feel options. These in-house designed key switches with "superfast 1 ms response and 100-million-keystroke lifespan," can be had with red (linear), brown (tactile), or blue (tactile, click) switch characteristics. Additionally, the keys boast 100% anti-ghosting and N-key rollover. Keyboard settings and lighting is managed via the Asus Armoury Crate software. Aside from lighting changes, you can managing macros, profiles, custom key binds and more. If you subsequently use a PC without this software, your keyboard will still be quickly adjustable thanks to the onboard memory with room for up to six profiles. Asus tells us that the ROG Strix Scope NX (RX TKL) Wireless Deluxe keyboards are being readied for "late Q2 availability for North America." Pricing is still up in the air. However, as a guide to what to expect, the Asus ROG Strix Scope RX Optical Gaming Keyboard which we reviewed a year ago is now priced at just over $100, though it launched at $129. You should expect to pay a premium for the tri-mode connectivity, probably an RGB-infused ROG-sized premium.
  14. Musician Name: Marshall Bruce Mathers III Birthday / Location: October 17, 1972 (age 49) St. Joseph, Missouri U.S Main instrument: Rapper Music Producer Composer Film Producer Actor Musician Picture: Musician Awards & Nominations:- Best Performance: - Other Information: Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known by his stage name Eminem (October 17, 1972), is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer and actor. He gained rapid po[CENSORED]rity in 1999 with the release of The Slim Shady LP, which won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album of the Year. His next work, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the best-selling solo album in US history. This fact made him known all over the world, and helped to promote his label, Shady Records, and his group, D12. The Marshall Mathers LP and his third album, The Eminem Show, also won Grammy Awards, making him the first artist to win Best Rap Album of the Year three times in a row. In 2003, he won the Oscar for best original song with "Lose Yourself", which was featured in his semi-biographical film, 8 Mile. "Lose Yourself" would go on to become the longest-running No. 1 single on the hip hop charts. In 2004, rumors about the end of his career were announced after the release of the Encore album, which ended with the announcement of Relapse, officially released on May 15, 2009. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Eminem is the artist who most sold in the decade in the United States and is currently in the 30th position of record sales in the history of the country according to the RIAA ranking, and in the world has about 115 million albums sold, making him one of the record-selling artists of disks. In 2010, he released Recovery, which featured the single "Love the Way You Lie", which was a huge commercial success. Recovery became Eminem's sixth consecutive album to debut at number one on the US charts. At first, the album spent five consecutive weeks at the top, later returning for another two, and adding seven weeks at number one in total. Eminem was chosen 79th on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" list. In a similar list, he was ranked 82nd by Rolling Stone magazine. Including the work with D12, Eminem accumulates 9 albums at the top of the Billboard Top 200, being 7 solo (6 studio, 1 compilation) and 2 with D12. He has 13 number one singles worldwide. Such success saw Eminem be recognized by Billboard as the Artist of the Decade.[13] According to the same Billboard, the rapper had two of the five best-selling albums between 2000 and 2009. Eminem has also sold over 17 million downloads of his songs in the United States alone. In 2010, MTV ranked Eminem the seventh greatest icon in pop music history. In 2009, Eminem was elected, by po[CENSORED]r vote, the best rapper of all time by Vibe magazine, beating Tupac in the final. Eminem's songwriting was controversial; some critics considered his lyrics to be misogynistic and homophobic, with characteristics of hate speech. In 2006, ABC News named him the "Most Controversial Musician of the New Millennium".

  19. The latest Windows Insider preview is testing a feature that could make future upgrades to Windows 11 more sustainable. While this is currently still in the testing stages, Insider build 22567 includes the ability to schedule system updates for specific periods of time when your local energy grid is pulling more energy from renewable energy sources than traditionally harmful ones. To do this, Microsoft will take regional data on carbon intensity from sites like electricityMap and WattTime, and you’ll only be able to enable it if your laptop or PC is plugged into an outlet. If preferred, you can still choose to install updates immediately by navigating to Settings > Windows Update and choosing “Check for Updates” On the Insider Blog, Microsoft states that “Most electrical grids are powered by multiple sources, including renewables and fossil fuels. Whenever possible, Windows 11 will now prioritize installing updates in the background at times when greater amounts of clean energy sources (like wind, solar, and hydro) are available” You'll see a small message in the Windows Update section of your settings that reads "Windows Update is committed to reducing carbon emissions", but this doesn't think to anywhere just yet. Interestingly, the blog also mentions "We’re still working on the content that the text links to – stay tuned for future updates" so we have reached out to Microsft to see if we can get some clarification. Sadly, If the carbon data isn’t available, it doesn’t look like this feature will be available to you and the blog also notes that not all Insider members will have access to this feature just yet, but it certainly feels like a step in the right direction, even if it’s a small one. Technology is unavoidable, so we must do better Modern technology uses a lot of power. It’s sometimes a hard pill to swallow for people who love the latest gadgets and hardware, especially if you’re as eco-conscious as I am, but our drive to constantly improve and build upon previous technology now means that we consume more electricity and energy than ever. I want to see more companies pushing developments like this. It often feels as though in this new world where every aspect of our lives can be dominated by technology - from video gaming hobbies, daily mobile phone usage and now even smart home technology running 24/7 in our houses and apartments - the only alternative for a clear conscious is to simply avoid it all and live in the woods somewhere off-grid. As appealing as that can sound at times when you just want to escape, it's not a healthy or practical way of approaching the situation for everyone. Technology is here to stay, and without building in environmentally-conscious policies and features into things as they develop, things could quickly get out of hand. It feels slightly ridiculous that an operating system needs to make adjustments towards sustainability, but I’m grateful that something this small (in the grand scheme of things) is also making an effort. Microsoft is a huge company, and its actions not only set a good example to other smaller brands, but the number of people across the wider market that will use Windows 11 is only going to grow as older operating systems start getting phased out. We obviously need to be making changes to our daily habits as individuals, but most of these are facilitated by what we have access to - you can’t be expected to buy an electric car with sufficient charging infrastructure for example, and in many regards, we’re entering a future in which anyone who doesn’t have access to devices like laptops or tablets will be at a huge disadvantage within the workplace and education. Not everything is 'greenwashing' Microsoft already makes many notable pledges towards sustainability and ethical working, using recycled marine plastics to create peripherals like mice. It also works towards creating a more equal space across both work and play, creating adaptive controllers for the Xbox console series and implementing inclusive features across its entire hardware and software range to help the disabled community. There's a lot to cover in that bracket, but if you feel disadvantaged using mainstream technology because of things like mental illness and neurodivergent, or physical disabilities that affect your hearing, vision and mobility then you can read more on the accessibility section of the Microsoft website. That said, there’s always more to be done, and I fear that a recent trend of ‘greenwashing’ has only thrown additional spanners in the works. For those unaware, greenwashing refers to a marketing tactic where brands will use sustainability or otherwise ecologically virtuous features to sell their products. Think 'bio-degradable' bags that actually take decades to break down into dangerous microplastics. I’ve spoken to companies like Dell and Razer about its own sustainability pledges in the past, and who were keen to prove that its efforts come from a place of genuine care and concern for our planet and its people, but there will always be those that are happy to label any work towards a more sustainable future as greenwashing to appease the public. I also like to take things with a healthy dose of skepticism, but I fear that condemning any and all efforts to improve on current policies will demotivate privately-owned companies from making any additional improvements in the future. Let’s not settle for just the bare minimum, but let's also use our common sense and not sabotage genuine efforts towards improving our planet for the generations that will inherit it. Can Microsoft be doing more? Absolutely, and as one of the driving forces in computing alongside Apple, I demand additional features and policies to reduce carbon emissions, as well as proof of ethical material sourcing and manufacturing, and a promise that the desire for profits won’t come at the detriment of our planet’s health. My expectations are kept low, but I remain hopeful that our pursuit of fresh technology won’t be a driving force behind ecological collapse. 20. By now, even most casual tech industry observers are aware that Nvidia was hacked last week. Nvidia confirmed the attack, stating that it was "aware of a cybersecurity incident which impacted IT resources." The company went on to add that "we are aware that the threat actor took employee credentials and some NVIDIA proprietary information from our systems and has begun leaking it online." South America-based hacking group Lapsus$ claimed responsibility for the cyberattack and now apparently has leaked the credentials of Nvidia employees online. As confirmed by the Have I Been Pwned monitoring website, credentials for 71,355 employees are accessible. According to the site, the available data includes "over 70k employee email addresses and NTLM password hashes, many of which were subsequently cracked and circulated within the hacking community." The first thing that caught our attention is the sheer number of employee accounts allegedly affected. Given that this number seemed out of the ordinary based on publicly-accessible information, we reached out to Nvidia for clarification. The company confirmed that it has over 20,000 employees worldwide, but could not give us a more specific number. So those leaked credentials could include former employees, employees with multiple accounts to access internal (and external) services, etc. In addition, we verified that several of our Nvidia contacts were identified in the February 2022 breach according to Have I Been Pwned. As if accessing employees' credentials wasn't bad enough, Lapsus$ also acquired two code signing certifications, although both are expired. Despite the expiration status, researcher Bill Demirkapi says, "Windows still allows them to be used for driver signing purposes." Earlier this week, Lapsus$ reportedly leaked the source code for Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), a competitor for AMD's open-source FidelityFX Super Resolution technology. The hacker group is also asking for $1 million for access to Nvidia's Light Hash Rate (LHR) cryptocurrency mining limiter found on more recent GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. The LHR limiter reduced Ethereum mining performance by roughly 50 percent on these graphics cards, so removing the cap would make them more profitable for miners -- at least until "The Merge" takes place later this year.

  23. Google Pixel 7 Pro renders have surfaced online and has revealed changes for the camera bar design. YouTuber Technizo Concept has created a concept video for the smartphone based on the leaked renders. The renders pointed to changes for camera bar design on the back panel. The next generation flagship smartphones from Google are said to use the second-generation Google Tensor SoC along with a new Samsung Exynos modem. Not much is known about the Google Pixel 7 series yet. Based on the renders that has surfaced online, the periscope telephoto lens on the camera bar on the phone's back panel is now separated from the other two lenses. Google had updated the design of its Pixel series flagship smartphones last year with the launch of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. For its successor, it now looks like the company will only be making minor changes. Google Pixel 7 Pro specifications (rumoured) Google Pixel 7 Pro is said to feature a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch curved OLED display. The upcoming flagship phone from Google is said to carry QHD+ screen resolution (1440p) along with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to continue offering an under-display fingerprint sensor despite the current-generation models facing issues. A report which came out in February had suggested that Pixel 7 Pro is expected to use the second-generation Google Tensor SoC along with a new Samsung Exynos modem. The report also mentioned the internal model designations for Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, the second-gen Google Tensor SoC, and the Samsung Exynos modem. The upcoming Pixel 7 series could launch somewhere around October this year, going by the history of when Google has launched the previous Pixel flagship smartphones. All Nexus and Pixel smartphones that launched before the Google Pixel 6 series were named after fish or other forms of life found in the sea. Last year's flagship smartphones — Pixel 6 series — were given the codenames Oriole and Raven. This year, Google is apparently going to use feline-based codenames for its smartphones. The upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are said to have Cheetah and Panther as their internal model designations, respectively.
  24. Boosting your PC performance could get a welcome hand from Microsoft Edge, which is getting a new tool to help spot issues that could slow down your machine. The new Performance Detector feature will help browser users debug performance issues caused by common problems such as running multiple windows or tabs. These activities can lead to your device running slower, affecting battery life and user experience, but Microsoft says its new tool could spell an end to such worries. Microsoft Edge Performance Detector Performance Detector will be able to see any issues caused by unnecessary tabs or the use of extensions that may be hogging bandwidth. When switched on, the tool will be able to monitor how Edge is running, and if it detects any issues, can recommend actions or fixes. This will most likely be through pop-up alerts or notifications, but Microsoft has yet to confirm the exact details. The feature is currently available to testers in the Microsoft Edge Canary scheme, meaning it should receive a wider public launch soon - although there's no concrete information on this just yet. The tool will run alongside the existing Microsoft Edge efficiency mode, which looks to help users extend their battery life by minimizing how much power and system resources the browser uses. This is done through a number of features, including setting background tabs into sleep mode after five minutes of inactivity, and also fade sleeping tabs in order to save memory and CPU usage. Microsoft says that engaging efficiency mode will help not only improve battery life on your device, but also allow whatever version of Windows you may be using to perform more effectively - although this will depend on exactly what device you are using. Efficiency mode has also emerged in Windows Task Manager, where users can employ it to push the application in question down the priority list when it comes to system resource allocation, helping boost performance and battery life. 25. Raspberry Pi has released a video detailing the making of the Astro Pi units recently deployed to the International Space Station, and which also gives us a glimpse of the new Sense HAT Version 2 add-on board that features new and improved sensors for scientific experiments on the International Space Station. Recently two Astro Pi units were flown to the International Space Station for a series of experiments and projects, created by children in European Space Agency members states. The Astro Pi units consist of a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB in a specially commissioned and flight approved case, a high-quality camera, and a new version of the Sense HAT with color and luminosity sensors plus passive infra-red (PIR) sensor. The new Sense HAT Version 2 also contains a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer, plus humidity, temperature and pressure sensors, and we can assume they are the same as those used in the original 2014 model. Something new for these new Astro Pi units is a separate machine-learning dongle based on Google Coral TPU. The TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) gives the Raspberry Pi 4 an extra processing boost for machine learning and AI. When used with the HQ camera, the TPU can be used to create computer vision projects of our planet. The Astro Pi units are controlled by a custom OS based upon Raspberry Pi OS but with tweaks made for use with the limited controls present on the units and to meet ESA safety guidelines. The new Astro Pi machines arrived on the International Space Station back in December, to replace two original Raspberry Pi machines that were taken to the ISS in 2015. The Astro Pi project aims to enable young people from across the ESA member states the opportunity to run an experiment on the ISS. To this end, the new sensors enable proximity detection via the PIR, and take pictures of Earth using the camera module, pictures which can be used with machine learning models to monitor environmental conditions and conduct "Citizen Science" experiments. Some of the most interesting insight in the video comes from industrial designer Jon Wells, who had the job of designing the aluminum case that houses the Pi 4 board, camera, and Sense HAT. He needed to incorporate the new features into a case that not only fitted into the same space as the original, but maintained a family resemblance to it. The team also had to make sure the new Astro Pi modules hit the targets required of them by the European Space Agency to make sure they would function properly in the ISS environment. “Sending hardware and software to space sounds really exciting, but there's a lot of steps that you need to go through,” says George Boukeas, Astro Pi devops engineer. The new Sense HAT, which in its Astro Pi configuration has a dark filter over its LED array to prevent them becoming too bright for the astronauts’ eyes, should be available to buy eventually, though no firm date has been set for its availability. Until then, the video (and this one of astronaut Matthias Maurer unpacking them onboard the ISS) give us a look at their capabilities and function.
