Motorola is said to be working on a new smartphone as part of the company's E-series lineup, and a smartphone tipped to be the Moto E32 that was recently spotted on various certification websites, including the US FCC, the EEC, Wi-Fi Alliance, and the NBTC. The smartphone listings tip various details of the rumoured smartphone that could be an upcoming addition to the affordable E-series portfolio. Motorola is yet to officially reveal any details related to the Moto E32 smartphone. A smartphone with the model number XT2227-1 has been added to the Wi-Fi Alliance website, according to a report by MySmartPrice. The website also lists four other models — XT2227-2, XT2227-3, and XT2227-4, that could be variants of the same smartphone. While the listing does not specify the model number of the smartphone, the NBTC certification website lists the handset with the model number XT2227-3 as the Moto E32. Gadgets 360 was able to verify the listing of the smartphone on both websites. On the US FCC website, the Motorola smartphone is listed to support dual-SIM 4G LTE connectivty, and come with support for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks, according to the report. The smartphone is also listed to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging support. The FCC listing also lists country codes for Australia, Chile, EU, India, UK, and the US for the charging accesories, according to the report. Meanwhile, the smartphone was also spotted on the EEC certification website. A smartphone with the model number XT222-4 is listed under parent company Lenovo, while model numbers XT2227-1 and XT2227-3 are listed under Motorola, according to the report. Gadgets 360 was able to verify the listing for these smartphones on the certification website. As previously mentioned, Motorola is yet to announce any details of the rumoured Moto E32 smartphone, but the appearance on multiple websites suggests the smartphone could make its debut in the future.

Microsoft has poured a lot of energy into making Windows 11 one of its cleanest-looking operating systems to date, but one Reddit user has pointed out that it could have gone further – and we completely agree. U/hyperactiverobot created a concept video in which the Recycle Bin can be moved to the taskbar, allowing Windows 11 users to drag unwanted files down onto it if they still want to preserve its functionality. It also allows quick access to mass-deleted unwanted data for good without hogging any of your precious desktop space. Right now, your options are to either leave it fixed onto your desktop as highlighting the application and pressing delete won't remove it alone. Or you can choose to unpin the recycling bin from the desktop by right-clicking the Windows 11 desktop, selecting “Personalization,” and then heading into “Themes”. After that, select “Desktop Icon Settings” and a window will appear that allows you to uncheck “Recycle Bin” from the list of applications that are fixed to your desktop. The icon for the Recycle Bin has been a fixed part of the desktop ever since Windows 95 was released 26 years ago (known as 'Trash' back then), but the way that people like to use their computers and laptops is changing. For some, a desktop space with no visible icons is preferred, especially if you like to use features like live wallpapers on Wallpaper Engine, or set your favorite photographs as your background. Opinion: is this a feature anyone still uses? When I saw the concept I had two immediate thoughts wash over me: firstly that this was preferable to the Recycle Bin being on the desktop space or absent entirely (which I'll touch on in a moment), but this was closely followed by "does anyone still drag/drop files into it?". I'm assuming that some folks do, out of habit if nothing else, but it's much quicker to simply click or highlight your unwanted files en masse and... press the 'Delete' key on your keyboard. It all goes to the same place after all. The nuisance isn't how you get your files into the bin though; it's remembering to clear it out. If you're like me, you can be forgetful and emptying the files from the Recycle Bin isn't set to a schedule on the off chance that I need to restore a file in an emergency (unless you're a very well-planned person. If so, hats off to you). In fact, I only just cleared my bin for the first time in months because I saw this concept feature. Removing it from your eyeline entirely if you're as susceptible as I am to forgetting to empty it manually shouldn't cause issues, but it's nice to have it easily accessible in case you need to rummage through and find files you've accidentally deleted. If you do want to set your Recycle Bin to self-empty on a schedule then you can head into "System", scroll down and click “Storage.” From there, click into the “Storage Management” section, click “Storage Sense” where you'll find an option called “Automatic User Content Cleanup.” Enable this and then you'll have an option to run not just Storage Sense on a schedule (a feature that automatically cleans up unused files and downloaded data to free up disk space), but also set a timeframe for how often the Recycle Bin should self-empty.

The company is readying both DDR4 and DDR5 memory kits to compete with the best RAM that's on the market. The memory market is highly competitive, with many players, and profit margins are very low. So it won't be easy for even a company like Philips to establish its memory brand. However, the rumor claims that Philips will compete in the desktop and notebook memory segments, and we may see an official announcement from the company as soon as next week. The photographs revealed Philips' DDR5-4800 32GB and DDR4-2666 8GB memory modules, although the latter has the wrong label. For the time being, it appears that Philips will play it safe and stick to JEDEC memory, similar to how Lexar started in the memory market. However, Lexar eventually started producing enthusiast-class memory, so it's plausible that Philips will try its hand at gaming memory further down the road. We all know Philips as the multinational conglomerate giant that deals in everything from personal health to consumer electronics. Although not a household name in enthusiast circles, Philips commercializes many computer-related pieces of equipment, including gaming monitors, SSDs, and peripherals. Memory pricing spiked during the pandemic due to the global semiconductor shortage. However, it has improved over the last couple of months, although DDR5 is still expensive. Philips' jump into the memory fray won't likely impact pricing, but if it indeed happens, it will provide consumers with another option to choose from when in the market for a DDR4 or DDR5 memory kit.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite alleged renders have been leaked, and they suggest that the smartphone will come with a triple rear camera setup. The camera module on the OnePlus smartphone looks quite similar to the one carried by various Realme smartphones launched in multiple markets. The smartphone is also tipped to get a display with a hole-punch cutout on the top-left corner for selfie camera, run Android 12 out-of-the-box, and is expected to pack a high-resolution primary camera sensor. Citing people familiar with the matter, a report by 91Mobiles says that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will get a glossy plastic rear panel with curved sides, and sport a rectangular camera module. The module is said to get two large camera sensors, a small third camera, and an LED flash. When seen from the front, the phone is suggested to get a display with a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is claimed to get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the right spine, and volume controls as well as a hybrid SIM slot on the left. There will be a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, the report says, adding that the OnePlus phone will not come with an Alert Slider. 91Mobiles report also says that this will be the first Nord phone with Android 12 out-of-the-box, and it will get a high-resolution primary sensor along with two 2-megapixel cameras. A new add-on has introduced real-time translation functionality to video meetings on Microsoft Teams, closing the gap on rival vendor Zoom. The service is supplied by a company called Interprefy, which was invited to integrate its cloud-based translation offering into Microsoft Teams. The integration gives Microsoft customers access to Interprefy’s network of professional interpreters, who dial into meetings on request. Once a session has begun, users can switch between the original audio feed and the interpreter’s translation via a drop-down menu. Live translation for video meetings Back in June 2021, Zoom announced the acquisition of live translation startup Kites GmbH, which was brought on to help develop machine translation (MT) solutions that would allow users to communicate in real-time with colleagues from across the world. “We are continuously looking for new ways to deliver happiness to our users and improve meeting productivity, and MT solutions will be key in enhancing our platform for Zoom customers across the globe,” said Velchamy Sankarlingam, President of Product and Engineering at Zoom, at the time. Although this vision hasn’t come to fruition just yet, Zoom has also long offered the ability for human interpreters to dial into meetings via a feature called Simultaneous Interpretations. Until now, Microsoft has been able to offer neither machine-based nor human translation, but the integration of Interprefy into the Teams platform will fill this gap in lieu of a first-party offering. Separately, but in a similar vein, Microsoft announced earlier this week that it would open up its live captions feature to a wider pool of users in an effort to improve accessibility standards. Introduced soon after the shift to remote working as a result of the pandemic, the Microsoft Teams live captions feature is designed to ensure all video meeting participants can follow the thread of conversation effectively. Until now, the live captions feature has been gated behind a registration wall. In other words, if someone was joining a meeting as a guest via a link provided by the host, they would have to make do without the accessibility feature. But this will no longer be the case, courtesy of an update expected to land by the end of April

Recently, we have reported on PC tech titans like AMD, Intel, and Nvidia halting Russia-based business activity. However, some of the biggest names in PCs and components haven't clarified their intentions yet. This unwillingness, or simple inertia, about the Russia issue could weaken the actions taken by the aforementioned trio. With this in mind, it isn't surprising to see Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, make a personal appeal to Asus. Asus is one of the world's biggest pre-built PC and laptop OEMs, as well as being a major supplier of components for PC builders and peripherals. As Fedorov highlights in his personal note to Asus's affable Chairman, Jonney Shih, the IT industry is generally highly supportive of peace and democracy. The Ukraine politician thus pleads that the Russian invaders "have no moral right to use your brilliant technology." Fedorov, who is also the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, reminds Asus it will be in good company if it stops its hardware and electronics supplies and ceases tech support within the Russian Federation. It highlighted that these firms seemed cautious to act and were still considering options and how to make sure their actions would fit in with the Taiwanese government’s trade policy. Interestingly the report indicates that MSI has actually fallen in line with the big US tech companies already in withdrawing sales in Russia but has done so in a quiet manner. MSI is said to be the biggest gaming PC brand in Russia. Gigabyte's stance is quite simple, too. It says its actions concerning doing business in Russia will fall in line with chip vendors like AMD, Intel, and Nvidia. A spokesperson added that Gigabyte's business wouldn't be significantly impacted by this move as it has limited exposure in the market, which accounts for less than 5% of its worldwide sales. Probably the biggest hit with regard to Russia's IT business, courtesy of Taiwan, was TSMC's decision to participate in the US lead sanctions. This move will seriously reduce Russia's hope to become more reliant on homegrown chips.

OnePlus 10 Pro has surfaced on benchmark site Geekbench and camera app Camera FV-5 ahead of its debut in India and markets around the globe. The new OnePlus flagship has also reportedly been listed on Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Council Committee (NBTC). The OnePlus 10 Pro was initially launched in China in January as the successor to last year's OnePlus 9 Pro and the company's latest top-end model. The smartphone comes with features including a 120Hz AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. As spotted by MySmartPrice, Geekbench has listed OnePlus 10 Pro with the model number NE2213. The listing shows that the phone has 12GB of RAM and is powered by an octa-core SoC. Geekbench also shows that the OnePlus phone has received a single-core score of 1,209 and a multi-core score of 3,351. The actual performance of the phone may vary as the listed scores could just be of a prototype. The Camera FV-5 database also has included the same OnePlus phone that is speculated as the OnePlus 10 Pro. Similarly, MySmartPrice reports that the NBTC site has listed model number NE2213 along with the actual OnePlus 10 Pro 5G title. This is not the first time we're seeing the OnePlus 10 Pro in online listings. Shortly after its launch in China, the OnePlus flagship was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Bluetooth Special Interest Group (Bluetooth SIG) certification sites. It also reportedly entered the private testing stage in India and Europe in January itself. Last week, OnePlus confirmed that it is launching the OnePlus 10 Pro in India and other global markets in March. The launch could take place in the second last week of this month. OnePlus 10 Pro specifications As per the details available from China, the OnePlus 10 Pro runs on Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 and features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (1,440x3,216 pixels) curved AMOLED display. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It also includes up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For photos and videos, the OnePlus 10 Pro offers a triple rear camera setup that houses a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter. There is also a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front.

Bitdefender has announced the launch of its new password manager which aims to simplify the creation and management of secure passwords across all of a user's online accounts on both desktop and mobile. While the company is known for its antivirus software, its new Bitdefender Password Manager offering also includes a password generator to create and save unique, highly complex passwords for each online account. These passwords can then be accessed by using a single master password. Bitdefender Password Manager is also backed by strong end-to-end encryption along with simple set-up, easy installation and an intuitive user interface designed to be accessible to all. If you are one of the Sandy Bridge stalwarts, Ivy Bridge ironclads, Haswell holdouts, or Broadwell braves, we have some slightly unsettling news; market researchers at TrendForce have noted a "rapidly shrinking supply" of consumer DDR3 RAM in the channel. That sounds precipitous, but its expectations are that we will see DDR3 price rises by as much as 5% in the coming quarter. The impending price rises are result of a pincer movement of sorts, according to the semiconductor industry researchers. On one side of the market, we see some suppliers speeding to withdraw from DDR3 production and rebalance their memory portfolio in favor of DDR5. The other serrated jaw of the pincer is industrial buyers stockpiling for the fear of shortages around the corner. South Korean DDR3 EOL on the Horizon TrendForce has some other interesting information nuggets concerning DRAM makers' plans for DDR3. Most interestingly, it says that both Samsung and SK Hynix are scaling back with a view to declaring EOL (end of life) for their DDR3 offerings. Micron has no such plans though, and the source understands this significant DRAM maker will be producing DDR3 past 2026. Smaller DDR3 players in Taiwan and China aren't expected to have any capacity to add over the next couple of years, and some have spoken about DDR5 aspirations recently. Industrial buyers, rather than consumers, may be instrumental to assure continued DDR3 output (and therefore availability to consumers). This older, slower memory standard is still a common choice in high-volume products like set-top box electronics (now often integrated into the TV) and networking devices. What Are DDR3 Stalwarts to Do? If you have say 4GB of DDR3 RAM installed in your Sandy Bridge PC, then it might be time to double up to 8GB, ponder thoughtfully over 12GB or take the plunge and upgrade to a 16GB system. Scanning online shopping sites today, you can get an 8GB DDR3 DIMM for comfortably less than $30. However, even if TrendForce's worst prediction of a 5% price increase comes to pass, that means a price increase from $30 to $31.50 reaching consumers by June. Some might be able to rely on the used market for DDR3 modules, if the worst happens. It is unlikely there will be a significant amount of other DDR3 stalwarts at that time, causing an uneven balance between available lower-capacity and higher capacity memory modules. Today, DDR4 users pay approximately the same for an 8GB module, as DDR3 users, depending on the retailer. At the time of writing DDR5 8GB module pricing starts at $80 to $90, with fewer brand/rating options. This is one of the reasons that Intel Alder Lake motherboards with DDR4 slots seem to be po[CENSORED]r, even through the platform can support DDR5.
