  2. Mercedes EQC SUV Is The Latest Attack On Tesla's EV Technology And Sales Lead When Tesla first launched the Roadster, it proved that it could build a world-class electric vehicle (EV) with a realistic driving range and titillating performance. When the Model S was released, it showed just how far ahead the company was in the EV game compared to just about every other auto manufacturer on the planet. In the years since, we've seen the release of both the Model X crossover SUV and the Model 3 entry-level compact sedan. However, traditional luxury automakers are finally hip to the idea of producing dedicated EVs of their own. Take for instance Mercedes-Benz, which has been teasing the release of its upcoming EQC all-electric crossover SUV. The EQC will be will be similar in size to the company's GLC crossover. When it comes to styling, the EQC is expected to stick very close to the Generation EQ concept that was first revealed two years ago. However, Mercedes has been relatively generous with teaser shots of various aspects of the production design. In the past few weeks, the German luxury car maker has revealed renders of the front, rear and interior of the EQC. Today, however, the company went one step further by posting a video that shows the vehicle's profile along with more bits of the interior. There are numerous quick cuts in the video, so you'll probably want to slow it down a little to get a longer look at the various angles highlighted. With that being said, the production EQC is expected to feature two electric motors -- one for each axle. Total output from the motors is expected to ring in at around 400 horsepower, while the vehicle should race from a standstill to 60 mph in under five seconds. As for driving range, we're expecting around 250 miles per charge. The EQC isn't the only EV from an established automaker to take aim at Tesla. Jaguar recently released its I-Pace electric crossover, while Audi will soon be starting production of its e-tron Quattro crossover. Even Porsche is getting in on the action with its own electric performance sedan. What these entries show is that while Tesla had a seemingly insurmountable lead with regards to EVs just a few short years ago, luxury marques are quickly closing the gap on many fronts with the exception of outright acceleration numbers and the unmatched global Supercharger network.

When you launch the game you will see a console on the main screen. In that console you can write "name <yourname>". With a console command, you can change your name slightly faster in the middle of a game without covering much of the action on the screen. Press "~" to open the console. Type "name" without quotes, followed by a space and your new name. For names longer than one word, enclose the entire name inside quotes. Press "Enter" and then "~" to close the console. The change takes effect as soon as you close the console -- press "Tab" to check the scoreboard and see your updated name. please nest time take a scren this will help you more. if you don't know fallow this : Hold down Alt and press PrtScn = Windows captures only the currently active window and copies it to the clipboard. 8. At least 10 people have been killed by Typhoon Jebi, the worst storm to hit Japan in 25 years. Jebi left a trail of destruction across the west of the country, hitting major cities like Kyoto and Osaka. Flights, trains and ferries were cancelled but thousands of passengers stranded at Osaka's international airport have since been evacuated. As the winds slow down and move north, people are being urged to stay alert for landslides and floods. Images showing how Jebi wreaked havoc At least 300 people have been injured as a result of the typhoon, according to government spokesman Yoshihide Suga. As of Wednesday morning, evacuation advisories had been issued for more than 1.2 million people. More than 30,000 people were given stronger but still not mandatory evacuation orders, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency said. Footage on social media showed the 100-metre (328-foot) tall ferris wheel in Osaka spinning rapidly in the storm despite being switched off. More than two million households experienced blackouts during the storm and schools and companies in the affected area remained shut. Nearly 800 flights were cancelled, including international flights at Nagoya and Osaka The airport had seen its runways and basements flooded and will remain closed all Wednesday.

  11. Dell XPS 15 (9570): Now With More Powerful CPU And GPU The Dell XPS 15 should look familiar if you're a regular HotHardware reader. We’ve seen various iterations of this power-users’ mobile PC over the past few years, usually with an Editors’ Choice logo pegged at the end of the review. The latest version keeps that winning streak alive, thanks to new, more powerful six-core Coffee Lake-based Intel Core processor options and robust NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics. As in previous generations, this new model is all about the upgrades, and the big news this time around is a selection of Coffee Lake 8Th Gen Intel Core i5, i7, and yes, i9 processors. In addition to the new CPUs though, the machine's maximum RAM config has been upped to 32GB of DDR4-2666MHz memory, which is sure to be a hit with video and content creation professionals. Storage choices include a 1TB hybrid drive, and NVMe SSDs in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities. The XPS 15 (9570) is available with Intel's Core i5-8300H quad-core processor, the Core i7-8750H, or the Core i9-8950HK hexa-core processors. These all have HyperThreading support, but the i5 is clocked at 2.3GHz to 4.0GHz with 8MB of L3 cache, the i7 at 2.2GHz to 4.1GHz with 9MB of L3 cache, and the i9 tops the charts at 2.9GHz to 4.8GHz with 12MB of L3 cache. The base $999 model comes with Intel HD Graphics 630, but upgraded models like our test unit come with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Graphics with 4GB of GDDR5 memory. That's comparable to the AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics with 4GB of HBM2 memory found in the convertible Dell XPS 15 2-in-1. All-in-all, this is a decent upgrade from the GTX 1050 and GTX 960M graphics we've seen in previous iterations of Dell's flagship 15" laptop In addition to the CPU and graphics speed bumps, Dell offers the XPS 15 (9570) with 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB of dual-channel DDR4-2666 RAM and 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB of fast PCIe solid-state storage. All of this drives a 15.6-inch InfinityEdge touch display, either in Full HD 1080p (1920x1080) or 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160), the latter serving up 100 percent coverage of the AdobeRGB color space for accurate color reproduction, while the 1080p version covers 100% sRGB. We'll take a closer look at the XPS 15 in a moment, but first let's have a peek at its full spec sheet... Dell sent us a well-equipped model, with a 4K resolution touch display, Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The standard operating system for the XPS 15 is Windows 10 Home 64-bit. These specs will keep a power user like a digital photographer or graphic designer happy for quite a few years, but it's not the top configuration we could find on Dell's website. We surmise they did this to keep the pricing below $2,100 rather than the $3,200+ price tag you'd be presented with if you chose the Intel Core i9-8950HK processor, 2TB SSD, 32GB RAM, and Windows 10 Pro options. We'd recommend the latter configuration for multi-tasking video editors and folks shooting in 4K. The main reason to consider the XPS 15 over the Dell XPS 13 is, of course, the larger screen. As before, the XPS 15 (9570) looks like a larger version of the XPS 13, though its relatively tiny bezels let it fit in the same chassis as a traditionally sized 14-inch laptop. The smaller bezels are less distracting, and really make a difference when you're watching a movie in 4K or 1080p HD. Windows 10 scales the icons intelligently, so the user interface looks similar whether you've chosen the 1080p or 4K screens, but the difference becomes immediately apparent when you look at RAW camera images or 4K videos. Details pop, especially in backgrounds and angular geometric designs in foregrounds. Even though it's not marketed that way by Dell, NVIDIA's drivers identify the GTX 1050 Ti as a Max-Q design. Max-Q GPUs have more conservative clocking so the same silicon can fit in thinner laptop bodies. While that might mean more fan noise when things get really heavy, we were happy with the 3D performance and acoustics compared to other ultraportables. Dell outfitted the XPS 15 with a 97 Whr 6-cell battery. This should give the XPS 15 similar battery life to the latest XPS 13, but in a more powerful package. The extended battery adds about a half-pound of weight compared to the 56 WHr base battery, but you'll welcome the extra capacity if you opt for the GTX 1050 Ti graphics, the 4K screen, or both.
  12. It's hard to believe, but Google Chrome is now 10 years old. Google first launched the web browser on September 2nd, 2008 and over the past decade it has grown to become the world's most used web browser, conquering both desktop and mobile markets. Google Chrome has expanded its feature set over the years (as well as its penchant for consuming large amounts of memory), and now it's time for another visual overhaul. The latest version of Chrome adheres to Google's Material Design 2 philosophy, which gives the browser a more modern design complete with rounded tabs and a brighter overall look. Icons have been redesigned and animations have been updated as well. While Chrome 69 is still immediately recognizable, there are some new features being added including an enhanced Omnibox that can preview more information as you type so that you can more quickly find what you're searching for. Chrome can now suggest strong passwords for your online accounts and save them in your keychain. Autofill intelligence has been updated as well to enhance your online shopping experience. oogle is also using its artificial intelligence (AI) prowess to make browsing more productive and safer. "AI is already working for you in features like Google Translate in Chrome, which uses a state-of-the-art AI-based translation engine to bring all the world’s information to you in a language you can understand, right in your browser," writes Rahul Roy-Chowdhury, VP for Chrome and Chrome OS. "We've also integrated machine learning to detect phishing and malware sites, and most recently began applying it to detect malicious extensions." But what about the future? Chowdhury has some thoughts on that as well: Already, we're working on integrating augmented reality (AR) into Chrome to bring information that you interact with across the web and put directly into your physical environment. Say you’re shopping for a couch online and want to see how it would look in your living room. With the power of AR and Chrome, you’d be able to place a virtual rendition of a couch in your living room, right from your smartphone. This is just one example of how more immersive experiences on Chrome could help you get things done faster. Chrome 69 is now available for download for Windows, macOS and Linux (where it should auto-update) and will soon be pushing out to Android and iOS.

  14. The Detroit Auto Show is just a few months away, which means that the next-generation C8 Chevrolet Corvette is starting to shed more and more of its heavy camouflage. Back in early October, we got a nice look at the track-oriented C8.R racing around Road America wearing final bodywork. This time around, the regular production C8 Corvette has been spotted tooling around at the Nürburging in Germany. General Motors is looking to take on all challengers from Porsche to Ferrari, and has built the C8 on an all-new mid-engine platform. As you can see from the accompanying photos, there is a massive air intake behind the front doors to channel air back to the mid-mounted engine along with some interesting surfacing details along the doors and flanks of the vehicle. Up front, there's a relatively pointy nose that leads into a very short (for a Corvette) hood... err, “frunk”. A large glass panel sits above the engine, and there are quad pipes out back. The vehicle is still covered in digital camouflage and the front and rear lighting obviously aren't production grade, but this is probably our best look yet at what General Motors will be unveiling in early January. There will be at least three engine choices for the new C8 Corvette, with one of them being a massaged version of the 6.2-liter V8 that powers the current base Corvette Stingray. Power will swell from 455 horsepower to an even 500. The next step up will be a 4.2-liter turbocharged V8 that will generate an estimated 650 horsepower. However, the engine to watch will be a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 beast that will lay waste to anything that challenges it with over 800 horsepower. Both of the turbocharged engines are all-new and feature a DOHC layout instead of the OHV arrangement that has been used for much of the Corvette's existence (save for the late 80's ZR-1). Stay tuned in the coming months, because given the high-profile nature of new Corvette launches, we're sure to be seeing quite a few leaks in the lead-up to the Detroit Auto Show.

  17. The first step to using Gmail is creating a Google Account. This will allow you to access and use all of Google’s different services without having to log into each one of them separately. And, of course, one of the services that you can log into with a Google Account is Gmail! Here’s how to do it. 1.Open your Internet browser, click the address bar, and type in www.gmail.com. It will redirect you to a page that looks like the one below. Click Create Account to get started. 2.You’ll want to pay attention to the box on the right-hand side here. Click in the boxes and type in the information requested on your keyboard, or select it by clicking on it. You’ll need to provide your first and last name, a user name (between 6 and 30 characters), a password, a copy of the password, your birthday (month, day, and year) and your gender. You can also supply your phone number and previous email address, if applicable. Next, pass the security check by clicking in the box marked “Type the Text” and type in the numbers and/or letters you see in the image above the box. Then click the drop-down menu marked “Location” and choose the country you live in. Finally, click the check box below that to say that you agree to use your Gmail account in accordance with Google’s rules. When you’re done all of that, click Next Step. 3.The next screen will show you what your profile picture will look like, and ask you if you want to set up your account profile in detail. If you want to skip this and just go right to Gmail, click No Thanks. The new screen will confirm your account creation by showing you your new Gmail email address. Just click Continue to Gmail to proceed. After this, you will be taken to your main “Inbox” screen. Congratulations! You now have your very own Gmail account! Be sure to check out our other tutorials to see all of the neat stuff that you can do with Gmail! Better yet, use what you now know to help your friends or family set up their own accounts, if they don’t have one already.

  19. It looks as though camera guru Canon is readying a full-frame mirrorless shooter for photographers who prefer to go that route as opposed to a digital SLR (DSLR). Called the EOS R, the upcoming mirrorless camera features a 30.3-megapixel full size CMOS sensor with dual pixel CMOS autofocus and a bunch of other goodies. Nothing is yet official, mind you, and all of the specs and photos are coming from a Japanese-language website that has leaked the details. We always caution to take these things with a grain of salt. That said, the information at least appears legitimate, and falls in line with other rumors that are out there. What's also interesting here is Canon's timing. Less than two weeks ago, rival Nikon announced a pair of new mirrorless digital cameras, the Z7 and Z6. Both are decidedly high-end shooters, the former with a 45.6MP lens with standard ISO 64-25600 (and ISO 32-102400 expanded), and the latter with a 24.5MP sensor with standard ISO range of 100-51200 (and ISO 50-204800 extended). here's no mention of the ISO range(s) on Canon's EOS R. However, the leaked specs do indicate it sports a touch panel LCD, EV-6 low brightness autofocus, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, the ability to record 4K video, and a dustproof magnesium body. Canon is also prepping a bunch of kit lenses for the EOS R, including a 35mm f/1.8, a 50mm f/1.2, a 28-70mm f/2, and a 24-105mm f/4. It's not clear yet how much any of this will cost or when the new camera and lenses will launch.
  20. Last summer Skype announced with some fanfare that it had overhauled its design. The design was very similar to Snapchat, and many Skype users didn’t like the change. Skype has now announced that after more than a year on the new design, it is changing back to a much simpler interface. Skype is also ditching its interpretation of Snapchat stories called Highlights. Highlights allowed users on a mobile device to swipe up to open the smartphone camera where they could take a photo or record video to share. They were then able to decorate the media with text or stickers and shared with Skype users, groups, or posted to the app's Highlights section. Skype has faced the harsh reality that no one wanted many of the features that it had added in its update. Microsoft admitted that Highlights didn’t "resonate" with Skype users and that it decided to simplify. The simplification was needed says Microsoft because features that users wanted to use like placing calls was harder to execute. The new simplified navigation will focus on Skype fundamentals like making calls with or without video and sending messages. Microsoft notes that the new navigation model will remove redundant and underused features that create clutter on the interface. The mobile interface will have three buttons at the bottom of the app: Calls, Chats, and Contacts. If you happen to have Highlights that you want to keep Microsoft will allow you to download them until September 30, 2018. Desktop users will see a navigation menu that will be familiar to mobile users with buttons for Chats, Calls, Contacts, and Notifications on the top left of the Skype Window. Microsoft says that layout will be easy for long-time Skype users to understand. Microsoft also notes that its data shows that Contacts isn’t a frequently used entry point for most Skype users, but some find that feature to be critical and updates for simplicity in the new design make it easier to use. A modern look and feel give users the option to choose colors. Anyone who uses Skype in a dark room (and their retinas) will appreciate color options other than white. Skype is rolling out a "Classic" blue theme adjusted for contrast and readability along with dark themes. Some decorative elements not core to the Skype user experience, such as notifications with a squiggle shape cutout, are gone in the redesign. Microsoft ends by noting that it worked closely with Skype customers to develop the new design and that it will be listening to feedback in the future.
  21. Carcases of nearly 90 elephants have been found near a famous wildlife sanctuary in Botswana, conservationists say. Elephants Without Borders, which is conducting an aerial survey, said the scale of poaching deaths is the largest seen in Africa. The spike coincides with Botswana's anti-poaching unit being disarmed. Botswana has the world's largest elephant po[CENSORED]tion, but poachers have been breaching its border. Some readers may find the image below distressing The scientist carrying out the extensive wildlife survey said many of the 87 dead elephants were killed for their tusks just weeks ago - and that five white rhinos have been poached in three months. "I'm shocked, I'm completely astounded. The scale of elephant poaching is by far the largest I've seen or read about anywhere in Africa to date," said Dr Mike Chase from Elephants Without Borders. "When I compare this to figures and data from the Great Elephant Census, which I conducted in 2015, we are recording double the number of fresh poached elephants than anywhere else in Africa." That census estimated a third of Africa's elephants had been killed in the last decade and 60% of Tanzania's elephants had been lost in five years. Botswana has had a reputation for an unforgiving approach to poachers and had largely escaped the elephant losses seen elsewhere. Despite a lack of fences on the international border, data from tracking collars showed elephants retreating from Angola, Namibia and Zambia and deciding to stay within the boundaries of Botswana where it was thought to be safe. Incidents of poaching in the country were rare because of armed and well-managed anti-poaching units. With 130,000 elephants, Botswana has been described as their last sanctuary in Africa as poaching for ivory continues to wipe out herds across the rest of the continent. The first sign that was changing came two years ago when the BBC flew with Mr Chase close to the Namibian border and he discovered a string of elephant carcasses with their tusks removed for the first time. Watch: Findings from the last Elephant census But these latest killings have been found deep in Botswana - close to the protected Okavango Delta wildlife sanctuary, which attracts tourists from around the world. "People did warn us of an impending poaching problem and we thought we were prepared for it," said Mr Chase, who pointed to the disarmament of the country's anti-poaching unit as a cause. "The poachers are now turning their guns to Botswana. We have the world's largest elephant po[CENSORED]tion and it's open season for poachers. "Clearly we need to be doing more to stop the scale of what we are recording on our survey." The government disarmed its anti-poaching units in May - a month after President Mokgweetsi Masisi was sworn into office. The units have focussed much of their effort on the border regions, which have historically been more vulnerable. A senior official in the president's office, Carter Morupisi, told journalists in Botswana at the time that the "government has decided to withdraw military weapons and equipment from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks", but he did not explain why. Botswana's 2018 Wildlife Aerial Survey is only half-way through and conservationists fear the final figure of poached elephants will be a lot higher. The survey area is split into sections, or transepts, and the plane flies back and forth like a lawnmower cutting the grass - turning at each end to ensure nothing is missed. "Fresh carcasses" are those lost within the last three months, but many of those recorded had been killed within the last few weeks. Conservationists fear the scale of this new poaching problem is being ignored as it is bad for the country's reputation. "This requires urgent and immediate action by the Botswana government," said Mr Chase. "Botswana has always been at the forefront of conservation and it will require political will. "Our new president must uphold Botswana's legacy and tackle this problem quickly. Tourism is vitally important for our economy, jobs, as well as our international reputation, which is at stake here as being a safe stronghold for elephants."

  23. The new Ford GT is again paying homage to past GT40 Le Mans winners. The newest heritage edition for the 2019 Ford GT celebrates the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans-winning GT40 with a Gulf Oil livery in classic pale blue-and-orange colors. This is arguably the most famous color scheme in all of racing, making it a common theme on many classic and modern performance cars. Ford’s use of the Gulf Oil livery, including referencing “Gulf Oil” in naming this Ford GT Heritage Edition, was made possible through a licensing agreement between Ford and Gulf Oil Lubricants. Ford will offer this color scheme to a limited number of Ford GT buyers for the 2019 and 2020 model year. The previous version of the Ford GT painted in this color scheme has proven valuable on the used car market, making it a desirable edition of the new Ford GT. Also: Get your first look at the new and redesigned cars of 2019 Beyond its blue-and-orange paint scheme the 2019 Heritage Edition will feature silver mirror caps, exposed carbon fiber A-pillars, unique 20-inch forged aluminum wheels and orange brake calipers. An optional Heritage Edition rondel package will add exposed carbon fiber rondels with the number 9 on the doors and hood for the 2019 model year. For the 2020 Ford GT Heritage Editions the rondel will feature number 6 to reflect the 1969 Le Mans-winning GT40. Unique interior features, including contrasting blue-and-orange stitching, polished (as opposed to black) paddle shifters, new seat embossment patterns and “ghosted” door panels (with the number 9 or 6 on them) will set this heritage edition’s cabin apart from standard Ford GTs. Expect the first customer deliveries of the Gulf Oil Heritage Edition 2019 Ford GT to occur early next year.
