  1. Your PC will have integrated graphics and may be defaulting to them even if you have a powerful graphics card installed. We show you how to set your graphics card as default, and make sure that your PC is using the correct graphics processor for the correct situation. Inside, your laptop or PC will be a processor (or CPU) and this will probably have its own graphics capabilities – commonly known as integrated graphics because it's baked onto the chip. It means your computer can run a display without any help but for more demanding tasking like gaming a dedicated graphics card is more appropriate. Most PCs and some laptops will have a dedicated graphics card and means that there's a choice of which to use. By default your computer should pick the integrated graphics for lighter tasks to save power and automatically switch to the full-blown GPU when needed. Whether you don't agree with the automatic switching or think it's malfunctioning, you can take control of what happens by setting a default graphics card. Follow our guide to setting a default graphics card and you can manually choose which to use for individual program How to set a default graphics card Step One Open the Nvidia Control Panel. You can do this by right-clicking on the desktop or you can find the option within the notification area of the Taskbar. Step Two Select Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings. Step Three Click on the Program Settings tab and select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop down list * Step Four Now select the 'preferred graphics processor' in the drop down list (you can see what the automatic option is listed as global setting). If you want to use the dedicated graphics card, select High-performance Nvidia processor. Note: For ATI/AMD graphics cards the process varies. Open the control center in the same way as above. You may need to open graphics then PowerPlay and set plugged in and/or battery to maximize performance. You can also try going to graphics then 3D and move the slider to performance. Your computer may also have a switchable graphics tab where you can change the settings for individual programs.

  6. ''Aston’s hypercar goes track-only, offers F1-esque speed'' Earlier this year, Aston Martin unveiled the Valkyrie, an insane hybrid hypercar rocking four-digit output figures and the combined go-faster know-how of Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing, among several others. Designed to take on the best of the best in the world of superlative road-going performance, the Valkyrie hasn’t even hit production yet and Aston is already gearing up for a newer, faster version. Dubbed the Valkyrie AMR Pro, it’s a track-only variant of the Valkyrie that eliminates any remaining conciliations for street duty, pumping up the speed potential to ever-greater heights. Created as a collaborative effort between Aston and Red Bull, the Valkyrie AMR Pro once again takes direction from English Formula 1 mastermind Adrian Newey, offering more extreme aero, an all-business interior, more power, and less weight. The result is one serious speed machine, with Aston bragging it’ll have what it takes to challenge modern F1 and LMP1 racers in terms of lap times. That’s a mighty impressive boast, especially for a platform that traces its roots to something you can drive on the road. Indeed, this is Aston’s idea of “ultimate,” the top of the mountain in the land of fast. This is what you get when you give Aston Martin and Red Bull an extreme performance car plus a blank check for track use.
  7. There will be 18.1 million new cases of cancer and 9.6 million people will die with the disease this year worldwide, a report predicts. The rise, from 14.1 million cases and 8.2 million deaths in 2012, is partly due to a growing and ageing po[CENSORED]tion. The figures suggest one in five men and one in six women will develop the disease in their lifetime. And as countries become wealthier, more people get cancers related to lifestyle rather than those linked to poverty. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) provides regular snapshots of the scale of cancer around the world, looking closely at 36 different cancers in 185 countries. Researchers say while ways of measuring and collecting cancer data have improved over the years, the overall trend is that cancer rates and deaths have risen year on year. The latest report suggests lung cancer, female breast cancer, and bowel cancer are responsible for a third of all cancer cases and deaths worldwide. 'Tobacco control' And the authors say lung cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death in women in 28 countries. The worst hit countries include the USA, Hungary, Denmark, China and New Zealand. George Butterworth, from the charity Cancer Research UK, said: "Tobacco is the single biggest reason why more women across the world are getting lung cancer than ever before. "In the UK smoking among women became more prolific later than it did for men, so it's not surprising that we're seeing increasing lung cancer rates now. "Similarly, cigarettes are now increasingly po[CENSORED]r among women in low and middle income countries and the tobacco industry's aggressive marketing to them is influencing this." Meanwhile, Dr Freddie Bray, of the IARC, said: "The results highlight the need to continue to put in place targeted and effective tobacco control policies in every country in the world." 'Extraordinary diversity' Overall, the report estimates, nearly half of all cases and most cancer deaths in the world this year will occur in Asia, partly because of the large numbers of people living in the continent and partly because some cancers with higher death rates are more common in this region. This includes, for example, high rates of liver cancer, which generally has a poor prognosis, in China. Beyond this, the authors say, there is "extraordinary diversity" in the types of cancer and patterns of illness around the world. They say because of this countries need to consider tailoring how they try to prevent and treat cancer
  8. We've come a long way with 4G LTE over the past few years, but it's time for a new wireless standard to take its place. That means that technology companies are gearing up for 5G wireless, and the first networks are scheduled to become operational late this year and early next year. Verizon, T-Mobile and Intel are all making announcements today surrounding 5G with the former two touting their ability to deliver the high-speed wireless standard to the masses. For its part, Verizon is claiming that its position as the United States' largest wireless carrier positions it to become the leader in 5G wireless as well. Verizon claims that it has leadership in three key areas, 1) a large amount of spectrum holdings, especially with regards to millimeter wave bands, 2) end-to-end "deep fiber" resources, and 3) the capacity to deploy an incredible number of small cells. The company says that it will claim leadership in 5G thanks to 28GHz and 39GHz licenses that it purchased last year along with millimeter wave spectrum licenses. Its purchase of XO Communications also means that it has brought on another 1.2 million miles of fiber routes to its already massive network, and it has a $1.1 billion agreement in place with Corning to further expand its fiber footprint. Verizon also says that it is working with state, city, and local governments to blanket major markets with "fiber-fed" small cells. For its part, T-Mobile says that it has invested another $3.5 billion into 5G thanks to an agreement with Ericsson. Ericsson will be providing T-Mobile with 5G New Radio (NR) hardware and 3GPP-compatible software. This is in addition to the $3.5 billion 5G agreement that T-Mobile inked with Nokia back in July. “While the other guys just make promises, we’re putting our money where our mouth is. With this new Ericsson agreement we’re laying the groundwork for 5G – and with Sprint we can supercharge the 5G revolution," said Neville Ray, T-Mobile's Chief Technology Officer. As for Intel, the company will be talking up its efforts in 5G starting at 2PM EST with a "5G Progress Report" livestream. Intel's Sandra Rivera, SVP of the Network Platforms Group will host guests from AT&T, Ericsson, Fox Innovation Lab, Nokia, Fox Sports and Warner Bros to discuss the future of 5G and it will affect consumers, business, and content providers. 5G is expected to leapfrog 4G LTE in terms of overall speed and will offer lower latency, better reliability and higher capacity to handle the growing numbers of connected devices being added to the nation's wireless networks. By Verizon's estimation, we'll see 5G networks offering peak download speeds of 5Gbps with uploads hovering in the 500Mbps rang
  9. In early August, at its Unpacked 2018 event in NYC where the Galaxy Note 9 was officially unveiled, Samsung took the opportunity to showcase its latest high-end wearable device as well, the new Galaxy Watch. Although the wearables market as a whole hasn’t quite lived up to initial predictions, Samsung has persevered and steadily iterated and improved upon its initial designs. As a result, the company now has a relatively extensive line-up of wearable products, targeting a wide array of lifestyles. The new Galaxy Watch is the polished, jack-of-all-trades of the family. It has the aesthetics and styling of a high-end sports watch, with all of the sensors and capabilities of a specialized sports / fitness targeted wearable, in addition to a number of features that reduce the need to be constantly reaching for your smartphone. And thanks to Samsung’s tenure in the wearable space, the Galaxy Watch also benefits from a comprehensive selections of apps, utilities, games, and watch-faces that are available in Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app store Processor / SoCExynos 9110 Dual core 1.15GHz Operating SystemTizen Based Wearable OS 4.0 MemoryLTE: 1.5GB RAM + 4GB Internal Memory, Bluetooth: 768MB RAM + 4GB Internal Memory Battery472 mAh / 270 mAh Connectivity3G/LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, A-GPS/Glonass SensorsAccelerometer, Gyro, Barometer, HRM, Ambient Light ChargeWPC based wireless charging Durability5 ATM + IP68 / MIL-STD-810G CompatibilitySamsung, other Android: Android 5.0 or higher & RAM 1.5GB above, iPhone: iPhone 5 and above, iOS 9.0 or above Dimensions & WeightGalaxy Watch (46 mm), 46 x 49 x 13 mm, 63 g (without strap) / Galaxy Watch (42 mm), 41.9 x 45.7 x 12.7 mm, 49 g (without strap) Display1.3” (33 mm), Circular Super AMOLED (360 x 360), Full Color Always On Display, Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ 1.2” (30 mm), Circular Super AMOLED (360 x 360) Strap22 mm (Interchangeable) / 20 mm (Interchangeable) Find The Samsung Galaxy Watch @ Amazon.com There are multiple versions of the Galaxy Watch already available or coming down the pipeline. What we’ll be showing you here today is the 46mm Bluetooth / WiFi variant, but there is also a smaller 42mm model available, and they’ll be offered in three colors as well. In addition to the Bluetooth / WiFi models, however, LTE connected versions are also in the works, but save for T-Mobile they haven’t begun shipping just yet. When the LTE enabled models do ship later this year, Samsung tells us they will be available in over 15 countries and be offered by over 30 carriers. All of the Samsung Galaxy Watch models share many similarities. They are all powered by an Exynos9110 dual-core processor, clocked at up to 1.15GHz, that’s paired to 768MB (Bluetooth / WiFi) or 1.5GB (LTE) of memory, and 4GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Watch, which runs Tizen OS 4.0, also has an accelerometer, gyro, barometer, heart rate monitor, and ambient light sensor on board, along with support for WPC-based wireless charging. A built-in microphone and speaker also allow the Galaxy Watch to makes calls, Dick Tracy style, though the Bluetooth / WiFi model will need to be paired to a phone to do so. However, the LTE model will be able to function as a standalone device and doesn’t need pairing to make calls. Where the 46mm and 42mm models differ is in regard to screen size and battery capacity. The 46mm Galaxy Watch is packing a 472mAh battery that Samsung claims can last up to 4 days on a single charge and 1.3” screen, whereas the smaller 42mm model has a 270mAh battery and 1.2” screen – both screens employ Samsung's Super AMOLED display technology and have the same 360x360 resolution, however. Before we dig in a little deeper, we should probably mention what comes included with Galaxy Watch. Along with the device itself, Samsung throws in a charger and micro-USB cable (which connects to the wireless charging base), along with a simple lit-pack. It’s kind of strange to see a brand new device shipping with micro-USB in late 2018, but since the cable will remain attached to the wireless charging base and not the Watch at all times, the connector doesn’t really matter.

  15. From design to performance, here are all the juicy details surrounding Porsche's first-ever electric sedan. Porsche is on a mission; that mission is to bring to market an electric vehicle that is both better looking and more advanced than some of its closest competitors, particularly Tesla. For the first time in the German automaker's long and storied history, which dates back more than 86 years, Porsche will offer an electric vehicle building on the bones of the Mission E concept dubbed... the Taycan. Questionable name aside, it promises to be a pretty big deal. Previewed initially at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche is finally putting the finishing touches on the production version more than two years later. Spy photos have given us our best look yet at the upcoming EV – most recently putting its performance credentials to the test on the Nurburgring – and in preparation, Porsche has invested more money and even more manpower into its facilities. Admittedly, we're still more than a year away from an official debut, but until then, here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Porsche Taycan.
  16. More than 100 migrants died in a shipwreck off the Libyan coastline earlier this month, an aid agency says. Two rubber boats set off on 1 September but one of the vessels deflated and sank, Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) says. The 276 survivors were eventually taken to the Libyan port city of Khoms, around 100 km (62 miles) to the south-east of the capital Tripoli. MSF says the group is now being held in "arbitrary detention". The survivors, including pregnant women, children and infants, have been treated by MSF for pneumonia or burns from leaked fuel. It appears to be the largest migrant death toll in the Mediterranean in several months. In early June, 112 people reportedly drowned after a boat sank off the Tunisian coast. Later the same month, the UNHCR said that 220 people had died in three separate incidents over the course of two days. Over 1,500 migrants have died while attempting to cross the Mediterranean so far this year, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Many more have been rescued, although Italy, a primary destination for migrants travelling from Libya, has recently started to refuse entry to migrant ships. The numbers of those crossing the Mediterranean has fallen from the peak of over one million in 2015, but the journey is becoming deadlier: while fewer deaths have been reported, more people are dying as a proportion of those who reach Europe. Although these numbers do not include the increasing numbers who are now being returned to Libya, the rise can be explained by the shift from the shorter sea route between Turkey and Greece in 2014-15 to the much longer and more dangerous route between Italy and Libya. Meanwhile, concerns remain for migrants who remain in Libya, with reports emerging late last year of sub-Saharan African migrants being kidnapped for ransom or sold as slaves in the northern African country. Libya remains unstable since the overthrow of long-term leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. Hundreds of migrants held in detention had to be moved after deadly clashes broke out in the Tripoli in late August, while gunmen also attacked the National Oil Corporation on 10 September.

  22. If you’re just not getting what you want to out of Skype, and/or want to see what a different program like Skype has to offer, you may want to delete your account. Unfortunately, they don’t exactly make getting rid of your account an easy affair. There are two things that you should do if you want to cancel your account: delete your personal information on Skype (which is optional, but useful), and contact Skype’s customer service department (which is mandatory). ''To delete your Skype information:'' 1.Log into your Skype program. 2.Click the Skype menu, and then click My Account. 3.Under “Settings and Preferences”, click Edit Profile. 4.Beside “Personal Information”, click Edit. 5.Delete your information from the form, or replace it with gibberish and random selections. 6.Click Save. To delete your Skype account: Go to https://support.skype.com/support_selection Log into your account. Choose Deleting an Account as your help topic, and Deleting an Account as your related problem. Then click Next. Click Text Chat Support Click Start Chat. Tell Skype’s technical support team that you want to delete your account. Simple, right? Or perhaps a bit too simple? Okay, we hear you. We’ve outlined both processes in more depth below, including screenshots that will give you an idea of where everything you need to click is. ''Detailed instructions on how to remove your personal information from Skype'' You don’t necessarily have to remove your personal information on Skype in order to cancel your account, but it does make you more difficult to find while you’re waiting for its customer service department to close your account. Open your Skype desktop program and log in. Click the Skype menu at the top of the screen, and then select My Account. You will be taken to your account page on Skype’s website. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and under “Account Details (Settings and Preferences)”, click Edit Profile. In the top-right corner of the window that says “Personal Information”, click Edit. There are certain information fields that Skype won’t save if they’re blank, so just click in the text boxes and write gibberish, and click the drop-down menus and select random options. Then click Save ''Detailed instructions on how to get Skype customer service to delete your account'' Go to Skype’s support request page at https://support.skype.com/support_selection You may be asked to log in again. Click in the boxes highlighted in the screenshot below and type in your Skype name and password, respectively. Then click Sign Me In Click the drop-down menu labelled “Choose a Help Topic” and select Deleting an Account. Then, click the drop-down menu labelled “Choose a Related Problem”, and select Deleting an Account again. Then click Next. When asked for a contact method, click Text Chat Support. When you’re ready to chat with a representative, click Start Chat. Now, all you have to do is tell the representative that you want to permanently close your account and have your Skype name removed from its directory. They will probably ask you some questions in order to walk you through the process, so answer them as honestly as you can. ''Notes about closing your account'' It can take up to about a month for Skype to close your account. During that time, people can still find and contact you on Skype (though this will be more difficult if you followed the steps above to delete your personal information). Though deleting your account will remove your Skype name from the directory, it will not remove it from the contact lists of people who have added you as a contact, unless they choose to remove it themselves. However, those people will still be unable to contact you through Skype. All Skype Credit and subscriptions you currently have will be lost when your account is closed, so be sure to use as much of them as you can before that happens ! Hopefully, all will go well, and your Skype account will be permanently gone! Just make sure to use up as many of your credits and subscriptions as you can before deleting your account, because you can’t get them back!. Good luck guys with all respect ;Black
