Zulema Riquelme, a 42-year-old nursing technician from the Sótero del Río Hospital in the Chilean capital, became the first health official who works with COVID-19 patients to be vaccinated with one of 10,000 doses of Pfizer's antiviral. who arrived very early in Chile. She was followed by a doctor, a nurse, a kinesiologist and a service assistant from three hospitals in the city. Later, employees of two other large public health centers were vaccinated. The vaccinations were carried out at the Metropolitan Hospital which, at the worst time of the pandemic in the middle of the year, was reconverted to treat only critical COVID patients. The vaccinations were observed by President Sebastián Piñera and by the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris. "I am calm, happy, very excited," Riquelme commented to the president, who told him that "many people worked hard to have this moment." On Friday, thousands of officials from the southern regions of La Araucanía, Biobío and Magallanes will be inoculated, which, together with the capital, have the highest rates of infected per 100,000 inhabitants. It is expected that another 10,000 doses will arrive next week to apply, within three weeks, the second vaccine essential for the antiviral to be effective. It is estimated that there are about 45,000 professionals working on the "front line" of the fight against the new coronavirus, who will be inoculated as a priority. By the end of the first quarter of 2021, it is planned to inoculate some five million people, including all health personnel, the elderly, chronically ill and uniformed people. By the end of the first semester, 15 of the 19 million Chileans are expected to be vaccinated. “When it is due to me, yes I am going to get vaccinated,” said Piñera, 71, who should be inoculated during the first quarter of 2021. The first 10,000 doses of the antiviral arrived at the international airport of Santiago from Belgium and from there they were taken in a police helicopter to the vicinity of the private facilities that have three super freezers that will keep them at minus 70 degrees Celsius necessary to maintain their effectiveness. The drug arrived in two 40x40-centimeter boxes that weighed 36 kilos, of which 23 kilos were dry ice. Chile bought 10 million vaccines from Pfizer / BioNTech, which will continue to arrive during 2021, which has the approval of the US regulator and its local counterpart. In addition, it committed another 10 million from the Chinese Sinovac vaccine, which has not yet been approved, and has negotiated with AstraZeneca / Oxford, with Jenssen and with the global initiative Covax. "Today Chile has enough vaccines to inoculate (a) 19.9 million people, which is equivalent to 133% of the adult po[CENSORED]tion of the country," he said in a press release from the Chilean Presidential office. Mexico, Chile and Argentina are the first three countries in the region to receive vaccines. Chile, which in the middle of the year was one of the countries with the most infected in the region, maintained a plateau of daily infected for several months, but in recent weeks it has shown a slow but sustained increase per day that is around 2,000 new cases. The South American country registers 590,000 infected and 16,000 deaths.

The electric offensive at Mercedes-Benz has no turning back. Daimler AG wants to be at the forefront in the premium segment and this implies agility in the development and launch of products. It is for this reason that in its "Ambition 2039" plan it makes it very clear that it will offer a "CO2 neutral" fleet in less than 20 years. This ambitious goal will only be possible by incorporating hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric versions to its extensive portfolio. They took the first step to do so long ago by establishing the new Mercedes EQ sub-brand. Behind her are products such as the EQC (manufactured in Bremen and Beijing) and the EQV (assembled in Vitoria - Spain). Well, this new division will host six new launches which, by 2022, will make its range consist of eight EQ versions. And it is not the only thing that they have announced, because we already know when the first one will be presented. Mercedes-Benz will present the new EQA on January 20, 2021 As announced by Mercedes-Benz on January 20 we will meet the new EQA. This electric SUV, which is technically related to the GLA, will be manufactured in the Rastatt center. Later, units will also leave the factory that the German firm has in Beijing (Beijing Benz Automotive Co). The second novelty comes from the hand of the new EQB, which in its case will be manufactured in the Kecskemét (Hungary) and Beijing centers. In third place will come the Mercedes EQE. The battery-powered version of the E-Class is scheduled for the second half of 2021 and will be manufactured in Bremen and Beijing. At a technical level, it will be supported by the EVA platform, which will also give life to the EQS. Precisely this model will be official in the first half of 2021. It will leave the «Factory 56» in Sindelfingen (Germany) and is called to compete against the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan. Returning to the fashion segment we have the EQE SUV and EQS SUV. Both derive from their respective versions of the saloon body, although with a more muscular image. Its arrival will take place from 2022 although its production will be located in America. This is because this continent will be their main market and for this, they will carry out the adaptation of the assembly line that they have located in Tuscaloosa (USA). Considering the offensive that Mercedes-Benz is preparing, it seems that its rivals are lagging somewhat behind. We will have to see the response of Audi and BMW, although the latter is already shaping its launch calendar. But be careful, we cannot lose sight of Lexus or Jaguar with their new proposals.

According to PAHO, these changes can lead to better health for people. One of the most common New Year's resolutions has to do with adopting better eating habits in order to achieve health benefits. With this in mind, the Pan American Health Organization gave five recommendations so that having a healthy diet this year is just beginning. "What we eat and drink can affect our body's ability to fight infections, as well as the likelihood that we will develop health problems in the future, such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes and different types of cancer," says the organization, and adds that “the exact ingredients of a healthy diet will depend on different factors, such as our age and activity, as well as the types of food available in the communities where we live. But in different cultures, there are some common eating tips to help us live longer and healthier lives. Eat a variety of foods Our bodies are incredibly complex, and with the exception of baby breast milk, no food contains all the nutrients we need to function at its best. Therefore, our diets must contain a wide variety of fresh and nutritious foods to keep us strong. Some tips to ensure a balanced diet In your daily diet, try to eat a mix of staples like wheat, corn, rice, and potatoes with legumes like lentils and beans, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, and animal foods (like meat, fish, eggs, and milk). Choose whole grain foods like unprocessed corn, millet, oats, wheat, and brown rice when you can; They are rich in valuable fiber and can help you feel full longer. Choose lean meats when possible or trim visible fat. Try steaming or boiling instead of frying food. For snacks, choose raw vegetables, unsalted nuts, and fresh fruits, rather than foods that are high in sugar, fat, or salt. Reduce salt Too much salt can increase blood pressure, which is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Most people around the world consume too much salt: on average, we consume twice the WHO recommended limit of 5 grams (equivalent to one teaspoon) per day. Even if we do not add additional salt to our food, we must be aware that it is commonly placed in processed foods or drinks, and often in high amounts. Some tips to reduce your salt intake: When cooking and preparing food, use salt sparingly and reduce the use of salty sauces and condiments (such as soy sauce, broth, or fish sauce). Avoid snacks that are high in salt, and try to choose fresh, healthy snacks over processed foods. When using canned or dried vegetables, nuts, and fruits, choose varieties without added salt and sugar. Remove salt and salty seasonings from the table and try to avoid adding them out of habit; our taste buds can adjust quickly, and once they do, you're likely to enjoy foods with less salt, but more flavor! Check food labels and look for products that are lower in sodium. Reduce the use of certain fats and oils We all need some fat in our diet, but eating too much, especially the wrong kinds, increases our risks for obesity, heart disease, and stroke. Industrially produced trans fats are the most dangerous to health. A diet high in this type of fat has been found to increase the risk of heart disease by almost 30%. Some tips to reduce fat intake: Replace butter, shortening, and ghee with healthier oils like soy, canola, corn, safflower, and sunflower. Choose white meats like chicken and fish, which are generally lower in fat than red meats, and limit your consumption of processed meats. Check the labels and always avoid all processed, fast and fried foods that contain industrially produced trans fats. It's often found in margarine and ghee, as well as prepackaged sandwiches and fast, baked, and fried foods. Limit sugar intake Not only is too much sugar bad for our teeth, but it increases the risk of unhealthy weight gain and obesity, which can lead to chronic and serious health problems. As with salt, it is important to take note of the amount of "hidden" sugars that can be found in processed foods and beverages. For example, a single can of soda can contain up to 10 teaspoons of added sugar! Some tips to reduce your sugar intake: Limit consumption of sweets and sugary drinks, such as sodas, fruit juices and juices, liquid and powdered concentrates, flavored water, energy and sports drinks, ready-to-drink tea and coffee, and flavored milk drinks. Choose healthy fresh snacks over processed foods. Avoid giving sugary foods to children. Salt and sugars should not be added to complementary foods given to children under 2 years of age, and should be limited beyond that age. Avoid dangerous and harmful alcohol consumption Alcohol is not part of a healthy diet, but in many cultures, New Year's celebrations are associated with excessive alcohol consumption. In general, drinking too much, or too often, increases your immediate risk of injury, as well as causing long-term effects like liver damage, cancer, heart disease, and mental illness. WHO advises that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption; And for many people, even low levels of alcohol consumption can be associated with significant health risks. Remember, less alcohol is always better for your health, and it's perfectly okay not to drink. You should not drink alcohol at all if you are: pregnant or breastfeeding; driving, operating machinery or undertaking other activities that involve related risks; have health problems that can be made worse by alcohol; are taking medications that directly interact with alcohol; or have difficulty controlling drinking. If you think that someone close to you may have a problem with alcohol or other psychoactive substances, don't be afraid to ask a health worker or a specialized drug and alcohol service for help. The WHO has also developed a self-help guide to provide guidance to people seeking to reduce or stop using alcohol.

More than a million people have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine in the United States, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Robert Redfield, said on Wednesday. "The United States today achieved an early but important milestone: jurisdictions have reported that more than one million people have received their first dose of the covid-19 vaccine since administration began 10 days ago," he said. Moncef Slaoui, senior adviser to the government's immunization program, said the goal of immunizing 20 million people by the end of the year "will probably not be reached." The United States still aims to immunize 100 million people before the end of the first quarter of 2021, and another 100 million before the end of the second quarter, Slaoui said. Redfield called on Americans to continue to respect social distancing and wearing masks until all citizens of the country are vaccinated. Two vaccines, those from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, have so far been approved for distribution by the US health authorities, which began their vaccination campaign on December 14. The Pentagon announced on Wednesday the order for an additional 100 million doses from Pfizer-BioNTech, bringing the total orders to 400 million doses, half from Pfizer and half from Moderna. These two vaccines will immunize 200 million people in the United States, since both require two injections. Anthony Fauci, a highly respected figure in the United States in the fight against covid-19, said on Wednesday that if the operation to vaccinate the United States po[CENSORED]tion goes smoothly, the country could reach a level of 70-85% of immunity for next summer.

The evolution of mobility in the great cities of the world is causing the arrival of new companies. In addition, we must bear in mind that the technology has supposed an improvement in aspects such as driving in autonomous mode. Therefore, it is not surprising that technology and e-commerce companies are considering whether to take a step and get into this race. Thus, they could monopolize shared mobility and urban distribution services. Amazon is one of those that is interested in this business. Not surprisingly, it is collaborating with Rivian to provide it with a fleet of electric vans for delivery. In addition, it has not had any qualms about expanding its portfolio of subsidiaries when it announced that it was taking control of the technology manufacturer Zoox Inc. Well, the next step was to present the fruits of its work, an autonomous electric taxi with a peculiar design and interesting concept . Zoox's autonomous taxi can run for up to 16 hours straight As stated by Zoox Inc., this vehicle is designed for dense, urban environments. That is, it could provide its services without any problem in congested areas of cities such as New York, Paris or Madrid. For their development, they have used a combination of artificial intelligence, robotics, car design and sustainable energy (electricity). And you can see the result in the images that accompany the text. Zoox's taxi image is that of a cart with four wheels on its corners. This concept, in itself, is not new, as we have seen it in other proposals. However, the lines are simple and cubic, as it must offer a cabin with generous space. Of course, the maximum number of occupants is four, arranged in two rows and seated face to face. When adding autonomous driving technology, it does not have a steering wheel to control it. As for its technique, we know that it is powered by an electric powertrain. The battery is large, with an energy capacity of 133 kWh. Thanks to it, the Zoox taxi can run continuously for up to 16 hours. This is because its capacity is one of the most generous of those on the market. Regarding safety, those responsible have announced that it includes an enveloping airbag for the seats. One of the advantages of the Zoox taxi is in the technology it equips. It features a combination of cameras, radar and LIDAR to have a 270-degree field of view at all four corners of the vehicle. In this way, they virtually eliminate all blind spots, increasing safety on the move. For now this vehicle is being tested in Las Vegas, San Francisco and Foster City, although it is not known when it will hit the market.

Currently, a significant number of people have had to adapt to new routines, some work and others school. In this way, they spend most of their time at home fulfilling their different obligations. These changes can cause anxiety, affecting balanced eating habits; In addition, small spaces can favor little physical activity. For these reasons, it is important to pay attention to daily dynamics to try to maintain the normal functioning of the body. Carlos Alberto Ulloa, sports physician and member of the Herbalife Nutrition Nutrition Advisory Council, agrees that sometimes the body can be used to sitting all day, which lowers energy levels leading to a less active lifestyle. According to the World Health Organization, for adults a minimum of 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity exercises, or 75 minutes per week with high intensity activities is recommended. In the case of children and adolescents, they should practice physical activity of moderate or high intensity for a minimum of 60 minutes a day, at least three days a week, this should include activities that strengthen muscles and bones. Ulloa also advises lifting weights and combining this physical activity with a high-protein diet that will ensure the development of lean muscle mass, which is favorable for metabolism and can help people feel better. It is therefore important to implement good eating habits and take into account the types of food that are bought and kept at home, understanding the nutritional needs of people. According to Clara Lucía Valderrama, a member of the Herbalife Nutrition Dietitian Advisory Council, the most recommended types of foods are those that contain vitamins, minerals and fiber, essential for the normal functioning of the immune system. Valderrama also recommends reducing carbohydrate portions, including one per meal, since physical activity is less at home. As a snack between meals, people can eat raw vegetables, fresh fruit, or unsalted nuts. You must have good hydration, since drinking water instead of sugary drinks is an easy way to limit excess calories.

The Government of Peru "preventively" suspended flights from Europe for two weeks due to the appearance in the United Kingdom of a new variant of COVID-19, reported the Peruvian president, Francisco Sagasti. The president pointed out, in a message offered this Monday on television, that "the alarm in Europe and other regions" also affects Peru and stressed that the WHO has asked the member states to "reinforce their control and prevention procedures." For this reason, he indicated, Peru has decided to suspend the entry of flights from Europe for the next two weeks and "to prohibit the entry of non-resident foreigners who have been in the United Kingdom in the last two weeks." As reported on Sunday by the Ministries of Transport and Communications (MTC) and of Health (Minsa), Sagasti reiterated that "for the tranquility of all" Peruvians who to their country "have not entered any direct flight from the United Kingdom since the country's air borders reopened ", on October 15. He added that passengers who have arrived on connecting flights in the UK "are being monitored by the Ministry of Health" The ruler also recalled that "no passenger coming from abroad can enter Peru if he does not present the negative result of a molecular test, in strict compliance with the established health protocols." Sagasti said that, despite this, measures "aimed at preventing the appearance of the new variant" of covid-19 in the country have been adopted, which also include Peruvian citizens or resident foreigners who are already in Peru and have visited the UK in the last two weeks "they will have to quarantine for 14 days". In addition, the Epidemiological Surveillance System has been declared "in a state of maximum alert." Peru reached 997,517 total cases and 37,103 deaths from COVID-19 this Sunday, after adding another 500 infected and 69 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest Minsa report.

The arrival of the Nissan Kicks on the market was a surprise for fans of the Japanese firm. Adding a new SUV to its already large portfolio seemed crazy. However, time and sales have shown him that they were right, especially in certain regions of the world. We can see this mainly in India, as its development was directed towards this complex market. But it is not the only place where its success has been resounding. The US has become another of its strongholds. We already announced it long ago, when the Japanese firm confirmed that it would take over from the first generation Juke. Now an update is landing in this country that places it at the head of the segment, although not at all levels. And this is where the key that separates one version from another is, because depending on the market it will offer one or the other qualities. Do you know who wins ...? The evolution of the Yankee Nissan Kicks MY21 improves its image and interior In effect, the American country prevails over the Asian country. Yes, because aesthetically its lines are better worked although yes, the differences are of nuance. The reason for this is simple because its managers have limited themselves to introducing subtle adornments with which to improve their imprint. We can see this in some new rear-view mirrors, exclusive alloy wheels, the central junction of the rear optics or the body tones. Inside the Nissan Kicks MY21 presents a different configuration. This is because in India the driving position is on the right side and in the US it is on the left. But the position of the steering wheel is not the only thing that changes as the quality of the materials and the execution of finishes are also more careful. That, not to mention safety, as it includes the latest evolution of the ProPILOT system. No sign of the "ecological" e-POWER versions All these changes and improvements are sure to encourage customers to keep their eyes on it. However, those responsible for it for the American market should have been more ambitious. True, America is reluctant to believe that climate change is real, but introducing the hybrid e-POWER version would have been a complete success. However, those who notice it will have to settle for a restrained performance engine. Specifically, it makes use of the 1.6-liter atmospheric gasoline unit and 122 HP of power and 154 Nm of maximum torque. All this managed through an Xtronic automatic cutting transmission that sends the force of the block to the front end. Regarding its technique, the improvements it introduces for North America focus on the necessary brake discs for the rear axle in SV and SR finishes. However, the Nissan Kicks MY21 for the US will make up its range around three finishes: S, SV and SR. In addition, for the latter you will have a Premium package as an option. It is not yet known what its official prices will be, although it will reach the brand's dealers in a matter of days. A pity that we cannot enjoy him in Europe.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced on Monday that it approved the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine against the coronavirus and further stated that "there is no evidence" that this antidote is ineffective against the new strain of coronavirus detected in the United Kingdom. "I am pleased to announce that the EMA scientific committee met today and was in favor of a conditional marketing authorization in the European Union (EU) for the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech," stated EMA CEO Emer Cooke, at an online press conference. The EMA's decision opens the way for vaccination campaigns in the EU in the coming days. The EMA's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP), based in Amsterdam, brought forward the meeting initially scheduled for December 29 by one week, under pressure from Germany and other countries, who wanted to see make a decision quickly. "It is an important step in the fight against this pandemic, which is causing so much suffering and hardship," Cooke said. "This is really a historic scientific achievement, in less than a year a vaccine against this disease has been developed and licensed," she said. In addition, Cooke added that so far there is no evidence that the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine is ineffective against the new strain of coronavirus detected in the United Kingdom and that, according to the British government, it could be up to 70% more contagious. "At the moment, there is no evidence to indicate that this vaccine will not work against the new strain" of coronavirus, said the official. Countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Singapore and Switzerland are part of the fifteen states that have already authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, giving the starting signal to the campaigns vaccination. According to the European Commission, the EU Member States plan to start the vaccination campaign on December 27. 95% efficient The EMA originally planned to make a decision on Moderna's competitor vaccine on January 12, but has also brought it forward a week, as it has done with Pfizer-BioNTech's. The vaccine developed by the American giant Pfizer and the German company BioNTech has shown an efficacy of 95% in international clinical trials in which two doses have been administered three weeks apart. The regulator conducted a "continuous review" of the data from laboratory analysis and clinical trials as they arrived. In normal time, the agency only examines the data once it has been fully collected. Pfizer-BioNTech submitted a request for authorization on December 1, and the EMA responded that it would make its decision on December 29 during an expert meeting. But the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada gave their green light in an emergency procedure, which has allowed the vaccination campaigns to start earlier. Several States had complained about the slowness in making a decision. The leaders of Poland and Hungary urged acceleration during the last European summit last week, seconded by Berlin. The European regulator also suffered a cyber attack in which data on Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna was stolen, although it has not had any impact on the calendar, according to the EMA. Following the green light from the EMA, the European Commission is expected to quickly approve the decision to start vaccination throughout the European Union, where some 450 million inhabitants live. The EU ensures that it has established a coordinated vaccination program in the 27 member countries to allow fair access to the doses of the vaccine.

Little by little, very slowly, the Chinese manufacturer Xpeng is achieving its objectives. First, it launched one of the most attractive and technological sedans on the market to the world. With the P7 sedan they have been able to catch up with and even surpass Tesla and Porsche. However, a single model will not help them to grow and more when it is located in an unattractive market plot. That is why they have created another that surely is more to the liking of the public. We refer to the Xpeng G3 EV-SUV, an all-road electric with a very attractive design. Its commercial life started a few months ago in China and it seems that it is being a success. That is why those responsible for the firm want to enter other markets to make themselves known. Europe is vital, but the image of these manufacturers is not yet highly respected. Therefore, they have started a pilot experience to sell the G3 EV-SUV. Do you know in which country? Norway is the first country in Europe where the Xpeng G3 will be sold The first country in Europe to host the Xpeng G3 EV-SUV will be Norway. This market is prone to electric and the proof is in its high market share. The reason for them to turn to them is simple, the government offers high incentives to buy and an extensive cargo network. Therefore, it is not a bad idea to access the European continent crossing a barrier that seems looser than Germany, France or Spain. According to statements by Brian Gu, President of Xpeng Inc ... "In the long term, if you want to be a successful EV company, you have to be global" [...] "We are beginning the effort to build our presence, doing limited trials in certain markets and treating this as a very long term strategy" The Guangzhou-based company has started this journey with 100 units of the G3 EV-SUV. To distribute these units the firm has partnered with a local distributor. According to Gu, they are still in the first installments of their European strategy but hope to increase them. Depending on its evolution, they will study its expansion to other European countries in the next twelve months. The starting price of the Xpeng G3 EV-SUV stands at 358,000 Norwegian crowns, about 34,000 euros. Therefore, it is in an intermediate position with respect to the few rivals with which it has to compete. We will have to wait for the results they achieve in Norway, since it will depend on him that we can see them in our country. Would you buy a model like the G3 EV-SUV? It looks good…

Healthy habits can help to avoid the predisposition to suffer from disorders related to moods In recent years, the trend has grown to carry out studies whose objective is to know how diet influences certain diseases. Among the most studied are those that are related to mental health, such as depression. Not surprisingly, data from the Spanish Society of Psychiatry reveal that between 10 and 15% of the po[CENSORED]tion will have a depressive picture at some point in their life. Depression affects one in 5 women and one in 10 men, so it is estimated that in Spain alone there are between 1.2 and 1.5 million people with this disorder. It is a disease with many unknowns as to its causes. In fact, it is believed that the cause is not found in a single factor, but in the combination of several risk factors. Among them are diet, sleep, or exercise. "The answer to how diet can influence our mood to the extreme of being a reason to develop depression or anxiety, we find in what is known as the enteric nervous system (ENS)", according to the specialists of mediQuo. The SNE is the part of the nervous system that is responsible for regulating our digestive system and is found in the layers that line our digestive organs. Hence the close relationship of mood with diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome or with symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation or the accumulation of gases. So ... can a diet cure depression or other mood illnesses? The answer of the mediQuo specialists is no. There is no evidence that a certain diet can cure depression, although it must be taken into account that an inadequate diet (like a sedentary life or a bad sleep habit) can be a risk factor for developing it. Thus, the consumption of trans fatty acids ("junk" food or industrial pastries), the low consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids, maintaining a Western diet pattern with high consumption of saturated fat and red and processed meats can be factors that they influence the predisposition to suffer depression. The diet to prevent depression MediQuo specialists recommend the following practices to prevent mood-related illnesses: • Follow traditional diet patterns, such as the Mediterranean diet. • Use olive oil to cook and dress salads. • Reduce total meat consumption, recommending white meat instead of red or processed meat. • Prepare homemade tomato, garlic, onion and spice sauce with olive oil to dress vegetables, pasta, rice and other dishes. • Avoid the consumption of butter, cream, fast food, sweets, cakes and drinks sweetened with sugar. • Increase the consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds. • Eat foods rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids with Omega-3. These fatty acids are found mainly in oily fish, shellfish, nuts such as almonds and walnuts, tofu, and some vegetable oils. • Avoid processed and fast food, as well as excess simple sugars. In summary, it can be said that there is no diet that cures pathologies related to mental health such as depression or anxiety. But it is true that a healthy, varied diet, based on fresh and seasonal products, accompanied by physical activity and a correct sleep pattern (in short, maintaining healthy lifestyle habits) is beneficial to avoid these disorders .

The new variant of the coronavirus detected in the United Kingdom could be infecting citizens of several European countries for a few weeks, as declared this Sunday by the professor of pharmaco-epidemiology at the British University of Oxford, Daniel Prieto Alhambra. Some twenty million people have been confined since Sunday in London and its metropolitan area due to the increase in COVID-19 infections, apparently due to the mutation of the virus, which the United Kingdom has communicated to the World Health Organization (WHO) . On a Spanish radio, Prieto Alhambra explained that for a month there was already talk in the scientific field of a possible mutation of the virus, which would now be more contagious, a change that would have been detected in several European countries. He clarified that it is still too early to indicate whether this mutation is the cause of the sudden increase in cases in London, Germany, Italy or Spain, although he specified that it is almost certain that it is already present in several European countries. Pérez Alhambra, also a member of the expert council that advises the European Medicines Agency on vaccines against the virus, explained that the first indications suggest that the change has occurred in the protein S of the virus, which allows it to engage better and, consequently, be more contagious. If confirmed, one of the consequences, according to Pérez Alhambra, is that it would be necessary to vaccinate more people than expected now to achieve the so-called "herd immunity." On the contrary, if there are already more infected people, although asymptomatic than what the studies now indicate, "vaccines would be being wasted" with people already infected. He also predicted that, in any case, it will not be possible to speak of the pandemic beginning to be controlled for half a year and called for all people to be vaccinated. "It's safer to get immunity by getting vaccinated than by getting infected," he argued.
