Click here to read full Written by Acharya Kaushal No age is inappropriate to begin yoga as everybody is a born yogi. While children need to be gradually eased into the practice, taking advantage of their natural fluidities, even the old can begin some easy postures to counter the side effects of ageing. ASANAS FOR FIVE-YEAR OLDS: Since muscles and bones are in the development stage, they can avoid extreme stretches. These simple postures aid their growth and development. TADASANA, also known as the Mountain Pose, is a basic yoga pose that helps children focus. Just stand with your feet close together and your hands alongside your body. Inhale deeply and slowly, raise your arms upward, interlocking your fingers, raising your heels, and standing on your toes to feel the stretch. Children must try to remain still in order to improve concentration. Hold this pose for a few moments, exhale and return to the starting position.VRIKSHASANA, also known as tree pose. Stand tall and straight with your arms by your side. Bend your right knee and place your right foot on your left thigh, high up. The sole of the foot should be placed flat and firmly near the thigh. Check that your left leg is straight and that you have found your balance. Take a deep breath in, then slowly raise your arms over your head from the side and bring your palms together in a Namaste pose. Children should not move much and should try to remain still, which will improve their balance. Repeat with the other leg. SURYA NAMASKAR is a basic Yoga practice that is a great warm-up for kids because it stretches the entire body and helps move every joint and major muscle group present while also working to develop their glands, bones and muscles and trying to improve blood circulation. Suryanamaskar is a collection of 12 poses. In the prayer pose, place your feet close together and evenly distribute your weight on your feet. As you inhale, expand your chest and lift your arms up from both sides, helping to bring them together in front of your chest in the prayer position as you exhale. Then move to Hastauttanasana. Breathing in, lift the arms up and back, keeping the biceps close to the ears. In this pose, the effort is to stretch the whole body up from the heels to the tips of the fingers., In Hastapadasana, hand to foot pose, bend forward with the spine erect as you exhale, and bring your hands down to the floor beside the feet. Try to keep the palms in place and not move them while in this position. Then in Ashwa sanchalanasana, horse pose, breathe in, push your right leg back as far back as possible. Bring the right knee to the floor and look up. In the Dandasna, stick pose, take the left leg back while inhaling and come to the plank position with your body in a straight line and your arms perpendicular to the floor. In Ashtanga namaskar, gently, exhale and lie down with your knees touching the floor first. Raise your posterior slightly— eight points of the body (two hands, two feet, two knees, chest, and chin) must be the only points of contact between your body and the floor. For Bhujangasana or the cobra pose, slide forward and raise the chest up. You may keep your elbows bent in this pose with the shoulders away from the ears while looking up at the ceiling. For Adhomukhsasana, the mountain pose, lift your hips and tailbone up, keeping your palms on the floor, to form an inverted shape. Make sure your heels are touching the ground to keep your body stretched. In Ashwasanchalanasana or the equestrian pose, move the right leg backward and push the chin up in one fluid movement from the inverted V. Extend your muscles as much as possible. In Hastapadasana, or the hand-to-foot pose, breathe out and bring the left foot forward. Keep the palms on the floor. You may bend the knees, if necessary. For Hastauttanasana, raise your arms, breathe in, roll the spine up. Raise the hands up and bend backward a little bit, pushing the hips slightly outward. Finally, come back to Tadasana, exhale while you bring your hands down by your side and relax. ASANAS FOR 80-YEAR-OLDS Since people over the age of 80 have stiff joints and are unable to do many asanas due to other ailments, the asanas to be practised must be very simple. PAWANMUKTASANA: Lie flat on your back on a smooth surface, keeping your feet together and your arms beside your body. Take a long, deep breath. Exhale by bringing your knees to your chest and pressing your thighs against your abdomen. Wrap your hands around your legs as if hugging your knees. Maintain the asana while breathing normally. When you exhale, make sure to tighten your grip on your upper shins and increase the pressure on your chest. Make sure to relax your grip every time you inhale. After three to five times of rocking and rolling from side to side, exhale and release the pose. MARKATASANA, also called the monkey pose, is most beneficial in constipation and problems related to the stomach. It also increases the flexibility of the spine. Lie down in Savasana and sleep on your back. Raise both hands to shoulder height. Palms pointing upwards from the knees, fold both your legs. Both legs, knees and toes will be joined together. You must turn your legs to the right while inhaling, right knee on the floor, left one on top of the right. Turn your neck to the left, or the opposite side of your legs. Return to the same posture as you breathe out. While inhaling, turn both legs to the left, with the left leg touching the ground and the right leg crossing over the left. SETUBANDHASANA, also known as bridge pose, helps in stretching the chest, neck, spine, and hips, It manages anxiety and stress besides increasing memory power. Lie down on your back and maintain a shoulder-length distance between your feet, with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands by your side, palms down, on the floor, inhale and raise your hips. Maintain a flat posture with your head, neck, and shoulders on the floor. Place your hands on your back, fingers pointing toward your lower back, and thumbs on your sides. Take a deep breath. Try walking your feet out further while in the bridge pose for a more advanced option. Maintain the pose for 30 seconds and then come back to the starting position. A South Korean engineer who built a grave for Internet Explorer—photos of which quickly went viral—told AFP Friday that the now-defunct web browser had made his life a misery. South Korea, which has some of the world's fastest average internet speeds, remained bizarrely wedded to Microsoft's Internet Explorer, which was retired by the company earlier this week after 27 years. In honour of the browser's "death", a gravestone marked with its signature "e" logo was set up on the rooftop of a cafe in South Korea's southern city of Gyeongju by engineer Kiyoung Jung, 38. "He was a good tool to use to download other browsers," the gravestone's inscription reads. Images of Jung's joke tombstone quickly spread online, with users of social media site Reddit upvoting it tens of thousands of times. Once dominant globally, Internet Explorer was widely reviled in recent years due to its slowness and glitches. But in South Korea, it was mandatory for online banking and shopping until about 2014, as all such online activities required sites to use ActiveX—a plugin created by Microsoft. It remained the default browser for many Seoul government sites until very recently, local reports said. The websites of the Korea Water Resources Corporation and the Korea Expressway Corporation only functioned properly in IE until at least June 10, according to a report by the Maeil Economic Daily. 'Suffering' for IE As a software engineer and web developer, Jung told AFP he constantly "suffered" at work because of compatibility issues involving the now-defunct browser. "In South Korea, when you are doing web development work, the expectation was always that it should look good in Internet Explorer, rather than Chrome," he said. Websites that look good in other browsers, such as Safari or Chrome, can look very wrong in IE, which often forced him to spend many extra hours working to ensure compatibility. Jung said that he was "overjoyed" by IE's retirement. But he also said he felt genuinely nostalgic and emotional about the browser's demise, as he remembers its heyday—one of the reasons he was inspired to erect the grave stone. He quoted Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki: "People are often relieved that machines don't have souls, but we as human beings actually give our hearts to them," Jung told AFP, explaining his feelings for IE. He said he was pleased by the response to his joke grave and that he and his brother—who owns the cafe—plan to leave the monument on the rooftop in Gyeongju indefinitely. "It's been very exciting to make others laugh," he said.

Click here To read Full Over the last few weeks, there has been much talk on domestic violence or intimate partner violence and its resultant trauma courtesy the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard case. A single exposure to any kind of abuse or violence can have a significant impact on our physical and mental well-being. So when such abuse takes place in one’s own home environment, and in an ongoing manner, its effects are bound to be a lot more severe. Remember that it is not about anger but about power and control between two people over a relationship. Every abusive relationship involves an unequal power dynamic, leading the victim to feel helpless. Low mood, anxiety, self-doubt, and a reduced sense of self-worth are commonly experienced. That’s why many of the affected do not report abuse; they fear a hitback. Sometimes they fall prey to their abusers who can woo them back with momentary repentance and then resume the aggressor cycle. Survivors have to rebuild self-esteem and develop self-love for that first step. 1) Identifying an abusive pattern is the first step – Domestic abuse may not always involve physical assault. It may include other ways to harm, control or scare an individual. Added to that, it often begins insidiously, such that the victims involved may not always be able to recognise such a relational pattern. Recognising the cycle of abuse is in itself the first step. 2) Re-establish connections – It’s not uncommon for a victim of domestic violence to be isolated from friends and family. Building back trust after such experiences can also be a challenge for many. Work towards reconnecting with loved ones. A strong social support system is key to recovery. 3) Reclaim control – While grappling with low self-worth, take small steps to bring back a sense of agency. To get back a sense of control, start by taking decisions in your day-to-day life. Find your sense of purpose and make efforts to work towards your goals. Taking steps that help you feel stronger, more independent and more in control may also be helpful. 4) Seek help – Repeated exposure to abuse or violence can lead individuals to experience complex post-traumatic stress disorder. Patients may feel like they’re reliving the same experiences over and over, by way of having nightmares or flashbacks of violent incidents, feel always on guard or get startled easily. Such conditions impact every aspect of an individual’s life – including their thoughts, mood, sleep, health, day to day activities, work and relationships. In addition, victims may experience overwhelming feelings of shame and difficulties controlling their emotions. When dealing with the impacts of an abusive relationship, remember that help is available. Reach out to a mental health professional to guide you through the process of recovery. Lakhs of people, women and children in particular, continue to suffer from violence within the confines of their own homes. We, as a society, need to come together to take steps that can support individuals who are still living in such conditions. As we talk about dealing with the effects of domestic violence, providing access to crisis helplines, creating awareness about the signs of abuse, training professionals working in this area and creating the right support structures that can support victims is our collective responsibility. Above all, we have to be non-judgmental.

COVID-19 vaccines for the youngest Americans will be available starting Tuesday. Though some parents can't wait to vaccinate their young children, others remain hesitant or adamantly opposed. In polling data from April, 18% of parents said they would vaccinate their young child right away, and 27% said they definitely wouldn't and 38% said they'd wait and see. The coronavirus has been less dangerous for children, especially small ones, than for older adults. That doesn't mean it's harmless. More than 200 children ages 1-4 have died from COVID-19, and 20,000 have been hospitalized with the disease. As many as 68% of American preschoolers have been infected over the past two and a half years, missing out on social and learning opportunities and passing the virus on to parents, grandparents and caregivers. Last week, two expert advisory panels, one for the Food and Drug Administration and the other for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, reviewed safety and effectiveness data on the shots. Both panels unanimously found that the benefits of vaccination for children 6 months to 5-6 years outweigh the risks. Members of the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) were adamant Saturday that parents should take the opportunity to protect their children against COVID-19. "I am fully confident that vaccines should be recommended," said ACIP chair Grace Lee, a pediatrician at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine, both in California. "We can clearly prevent hospitalizations and deaths, and I believe we have the opportunity to prevent long-term complications of infections." Parents will be able to choose between vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech.

Salesforce has unveiled a major simplification of some of its most useful CRM tools with the launch of a new “unlimited” offering. Revealed at its Salesforce World Tour event in London(opens in new tab), the company says its upgraded Sales Cloud Platform offering will provide sales teams with everything they need to transform leads into customers. In all, eight tools and services are included in the new unified platform, which will work alongside other Salesforce offerings such as Slack and Tableau to give users a truly one-stop shop. Salesforce Unlimited Among the new additions are Conversation Insights, which utilizes natural language processing to analyze audio and video recordings, providing not just transcriptions, but also insights into keywords such as competitor mentions. There’s also Sales Engagement, which gives users clearer reports, and allows managers to set customized workflows and task lists, and Salesforce Inbox, which the company says together offer a "unified selling experience" that should cut out confusion and improve customer touchpoints. The other new AI services, all powered by Sales Cloud Einstein, included in the new offering are Automated Contacts, Lead Scoring, Forecasting, Opportunity Scoring, Recommended Connections, Email Insights, Pipeline Inspection, and Einstein Conversation Insights. “We are in a new era of selling where every sales organization needs to transform from intuition-based to data-driven decision making to be successful,” said Ketan Karkhanis, GM, EVP, Sales Cloud. “Companies need technology that unites workflow, automation, and intelligence to drive productivity and efficient growth across every channel, and now with Sales Cloud Unlimited, our customers can have all three.” The news comes shortly after Microsoft announced its own Sales Cloud competitor. Microsoft Viva Sales will work with any CRM platform, and plugs straight into the Microsoft 365 suite to sync with tools such as Excel, Outlook or even Microsoft Teams, drawing data directly and cutting out large periods of “busy work” caused by manual data entry.

AMD's Ryzen 7000 'Phoenix Point' CPUs which will be bringing the brand new Zen 4 architecture to thin and light laptops have been spotted in the MilkyWay@Home database. AMD Ryzen 7000 'Phoenix Point' 8-Core CPU Shows Up, Features 8 Zen 4 Cores For Laptops The AMD Ryzen 7000 'Phoenix Point' APU was spotted by Benchleaks and TUM_APISAK. Both leaks come from the same database, which is MilkyWay@Home. The same database was the first to list down AMD's Zen 4 Desktop CPUs in 8 and 16-core flavors. While there's no specific information in the listing that states that this is a Phoenix Point chip, the OPN code '100-000000709-23_N' points out that it is indeed a Phoenix Point SKU. As mentioned by Patrick Shur a while back, the AMD Ryzen 7000 'Phoenix Point' APUs fall under the A70F00 family name while the Ryzen 7000 'Raphael' CPUs fall under the A60F00 family name. Milky Way@Home also lists down the number of processors for this particular engineering sample which is 16. This number is related to the thread count, as such, we will see 8 cores and 16 threads on the particular SKU. The AMD Phoenix Point APUs are expected to max out at 8 cores & 16 threads while Ryzen 7000 'Dragon Range' CPUs will be pushing core counts to 16 on the laptop segment. As for the previous AMD Ryzen 7000 ES CPU entries at MilkyWay@Home, we have the following SKUs: AMD Eng Sample: 100-000000665-21_N (16 Core / 32 Thread Raphael) AMD Eng Sample: 100-000000666-21_N (8 Core / 16 Thread) Raphael AMD Eng Sample: 100-000000514-03_N (8-Core / 16 Thread Raphael) AMD Zen 4 & RDNA 3 Powered Phoenix Point 4nm APUs For Thin & Light Gaming Laptops in 2023 AMD confirmed its Phoenix Point APU lineup which will utilize both Zen 4 and RDNA 3 cores. The new Phoenix APUs will carry LPDDR5 and PCIe 5 support and come in SKUs ranging from 35W to 45W. The lineup is also expected to launch in 2023 and most possibly at CES 2023. AMD has also pointed out that the laptop parts may include memory technologies aside from LPDDR5 and DDR5. Based on earlier specs, it looks like the Phoenix Ryzen 7000 APUs might still carry up to 8 cores and 16 threads with higher core counts exclusive to Dragon Range chips. However, Phoenix APUs will carry a higher CU count for the RDNA 3 graphics core, uplifting the performance by a huge margin over anything that the competition might have to offer.
