  1. Cyberpunk 2077 On Xbox Series X Gameplay Showcased In New Video CD Projekt Red showed off Xbox Series X vs. Xbox One X in a new Night City Wire gameplay livestream. The new generation is upon us, and with Cyberpunk 2077 right around the corner, CD Projekt Red is taking the opportunity to show off its new game running on the new hardware. A surprise Night City Wire Special presentation has premiered that showcases console footage of Cyberpunk 2077 running on both Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. The short video was broadcast on Twitch, but you can now rewatch the entire thing below. It showcases edited gameplay footage running on the two consoles, including Microsoft's new high-end next-gen system. The video cuts back and forth between the two versions, allowing you to compare how portions of the game look on one console versus the other. Notably, neither older Xbox hardware nor the Xbox Series S versions were shown. We also didn't get to see the PS4, PS4 Pro, or PS5 versions of the game. Although the frame rate and overall visuals do appear improved on Xbox Series X (the One X version seems to have some performance issues), a proper next-gen-enhanced version of the game won't be available right at Cyberpunk 2077's launch on December 10. While you can buy the current-gen versions and play them on next-gen hardware, a free next-gen upgrade will be released "sometime next year," as previously announced. The gameplay offered a brief appearance by Keanu Reeves' character, Johnny Silverhand. We also got to see a mixture of combat and traversal through the city, including in a vehicle. At one point, the player unlocks an Achievement, Right Back at Ya, which is earned by killing or incapacitating an enemy who throws a grenade at you. Another Night City Wire is scheduled for Thursday, November 19. That one will focus on Johnny Silverhand.
  2. This supercomputer wants to make sure you never get stuck in traffic again System is able to process data from over 11,000 sensors Researchers from the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) in the U.S. have tasked their supercomputers to crunch traffic data and predict any upcoming congestion. After collating nearly a year’s worth of data from over 11,000 sensors along the California highway system, the researchers worked with mathematicians from ANL to feed the data to the supercomputers. Thanks to machine learning (ML) all the data helped the researchers train a model on the supercomputer that can now forecast traffic fairly accurately. Here are the best Infrastructure-as-a-Service providers We’ve also curated a list of the best cloud computing services Here’s our pick of the best colocation providers Highway blacktop The researchers have recently published the results in predicting traffic along with their methodology in the Transportation Research Record journal. As per reports, the model can look at the past hour of data and predict the next hour of traffic with great accuracy, within milliseconds. This isn’t the first time ML models have been used to predict traffic. However, the previous models could handle data from only about 200-300 sensors. By using a graph-partitioning-based method, which the researchers have described in detail in the journal, the team managed to successfully get the supercomputer to process data from over 11,000 sensors. Writing in the journal the researchers report that their model can not only predict traffic patterns, but can also forecast the speed and flow of the traffic. It is reported that the new system can accurately predict the speed of traffic within 6mph of the observed speed at any location across the network. The research was conducted as part of a larger project to design and plan more efficient mobility systems that might potentially redirect traffic in case of anticipated congestion, but there’s no word on whether the new model will be pushed into active duty.
  3. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB SSD Drops to New Low of $249 One of our favorite SSDs hits a new low price. Black Friday might be days away, but we're already busy finding you the best deals on tech we can. If you're looking for something a little more specific, like the best deals on SSDs, look no further! Today we're highlighting the biggest discount ever on the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB internal SSD. It carries an MSRP of $499 but is listed on numerous retailers, including Amazon, today at just $249. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB: was $499, now $249 @Amazon If you're an Amazon Prime member, you can snag this drive through Amazon but there is a shipping delay. Vendors like Newegg do not mention a shipping delay, as of writing. You can also find it on both B&H Photo and Best Buy. This drive has an M.2 2280 form factor and uses a PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 interface to connect. The combination of great performance and an excellent software package has landed the Samsung 970 EVO Plus on our list of best SSDs. Under optimal conditions, the Samsung 970 EVO Plus has read/write speeds as high as 3500/3300 MBps. This drive is available in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities, as well. However, this discount is specifically for the 2TB edition. When we published our Samsung 970 EVO Plus review, we noted that the 2TB capacity had the fastest transfer rate in DiskBench, hitting an impressive rate of 933 MBps and it finished just behind the much-more-expensive Samsung 970 Pro and Intel SSD 905P in SPECworkstation 3 testing. Check out the Samsung 970 EVO Plus product page at Amazon or a vendor of your choice (listed above) for more details and checkout options.
