  1. HP has revealed it has a new Envy 34-inch all-in-one PC on the way that can be kitted out with up to an RTX 3080 Super. It has since changed the reference to remove the Super prefix, but this being the internet, the original post has been saved forever—you can find a shot of the original on this Reddit post by the wonderfully named minty_hippo. As this is an all-in-one PC, it will use the cooler, mobile version of the GPU, not the full-fat desktop GPU. Still, it adds weight to the idea that we're going to get a Super refresh of Nvidia's 30-series GPUs, both on desktop and in mobile in the not-too-distant future. Of course, it could have just been an honest mistake—updating the text of a previous model and the Super slipped in. And indeed if this was a one-off it may just be put down to that, but the internet rumor mills are definitely in full effect at this stage, and the expectations for a complete line-up of 30-series Super cards have been gathering momentum for a while now.Let's make a summary. 3090S 10752 24GB G6X3080S 8960 12GB G6X3070S 5888 8G G6X3060S 5632 12G G6Although I doubt the specs of some of them and the name of 90S. 👀👀👀September 22, 2021 A tweet from the usually reliable kopite7kimi suggests a total of four new GPUs are on the way. We covered the rumors of a faster spin of the 3090 almost a month ago, and the 3090 Super does appear at the top of the list. Do we really need another expensive high-end card at this point? Probably not; the idea of a 3060 Super is a far more appealing idea.
  2. Last I checked in, The Long Dark was a game about trudging through the snow and digging tins of beans out of old shacks. So I'm surprised to discover than the next episodic expansion for the survival sim is a prison thriller that sees you not only frozen and starving, but stuck behind bars. Teased with a new trailer this week, Episode 4: Fury, Then Silence sees you bound and dragged and tossed into a cell in some abandoned penitentiary. A mysterious voice on the phone teases that you'll have to pick a side in a "stalemate" within the prison, while your fellow inmates suggest that they may be the one keeping you all alive at all. Your closest cellmate appears to be voiced by none other than Adam Jensen actor Elias Toufexis (whose character presumably never asked for this, hurr hurr), and appears to be the head of one of these prison factions. The Long Dark has been on this story-driven pivot for some time, and, as a lapsed survivor, it's impressive how much the animation and voice acting has exploded in quality over these updates.Episode 4: Fury, Then Silence launches on Monday, October 4. After that, developer Hinterland will prepare to bring The Long Dark's frosty thriller to a close with a final, as-yet-unannounced fifth chapter.

  4. iPhone 13 mini is the last “mini” iPhone as Apple will have no iPhone 14 mini next year, according to a tipster. Multiple reports in the past suggested that the Cupertino company did not receive a pleasing response from the sales of the iPhone 12 mini last year. It may, thus, have plans to have its new iPhone series in the works sans the iPhone 14 mini model. Apple introduced the iPhone 12 mini in its portfolio to offer the best of its flagship iPhone in a new, small form-factor that is easier to use over the default model. Tipster Jon Prosser has claimed that Apple will not launch the iPhone 14 mini next year and the iPhone 13 mini will be its last “mini” iPhone model. “So if you've been thinking about trying the mini, the 13 mini is your last chance,” he said in a tweet. When asked about how confident he is considering the fact that Apple introduced the mini form-factor in 2020, Prosser said that he was very sure about the development. In June, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also speculated that the 2022 iPhone family — which Apple would call the iPhone 14 series — would come with no iPhone mini model. It could be due to poor sales of the iPhone 12 mini, though the iPhone 13 mini is yet to show its market performance. Despite the absence of the iPhone 14 mini, Kuo predicted that Apple would bring four new iPhone models in 2022. Two of those models would be the high-end options and the remaining two options could be the low-end in the series. Both the high- and low-end versions are also expected to come in 6.1- and 6.7-inch design. In contrast, the iPhone 13 mini — just like the iPhone 12 mini — comes with a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDA display. The iPhone 13 mini also includes a smaller battery over the iPhone 13, though rest of its features are aligning with the regular model. These include the same dual rear camera setup as well as the same A15 Bionic chip.iPhone 13 mini price in India starts at Rs. 69,900 for the base 128GB storage variant. It also comes in 256GB and 512GB storage options that are priced at Rs. 79,900 and Rs. 99,900, respectively. This week on Orbital, the Gadgets 360 podcast, we discuss iPhone 13, new iPad and iPad mini, and Apple Watch Series 7 — and what they mean to the Indian market. Orbital is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts.
  5. The new iOS 15 update is going down a treat with Apple iPhone owners, who are shouting their love for everything from scroll wheel clocks to 3D map affects. A quick glance through Twitter shows a number of glowing reviews from on-the-ground iPhone users, exploring the myriad of tweaks, changes and features that have landed with the latest iOS update. Alongside the kind of updates we press pundits tend to concern ourselves with – security features and the like – are a host of small, attentive changes that are already winning users over and reminding them why they fell in love with Apple's iOS platform in the first place. One of the most prominent additions is the ability to play background sounds alongside music – with multiple users taking to Twitter to shout about the excellent vibes that come with mixing rain sounds with their saddest Apple Music artists. So now you can play rain sounds while playing any song in the background? Nah this feature wins!! #iOS15 pic.twitter.com/f0FIBk6En8September 21, 2021 Other users are relieved at the return of the scroll wheel for selecting alarm times, which in iOS 14 had been replaced with a much-less-liked virtual keyboard. It's now back as default, as you can see below: iOS 15 brought back the scroll wheel thank the lord pic.twitter.com/3XiQPjCRuwSeptember 21, 2021Keyboard enthusiast @JonPorty isn't mourning the change, though, as he's too busy complimenting the ease of swiping between tabs and accessing the tweaked location of the address bar in Safari. (As others point out, there are now wallpapers to choose for Safari, too.) I have to say, I love Safari’s changes in iOS 15. Swiping between tabs? An address bar that actually sits where my thumbs are? All great changes, if a little disorientating at first.September 21, 2021Apple's built-in map app has also got a majorly 3D overhaul, with a full-bodied perspective that feels straight out of Pokémon Go. Anyone else go exploring in the new Apple Maps yet? Or are you normal? #iOS15 pic.twitter.com/UJgiUrcOLbSeptember 21, 2021Others are finding respite in the patter of rain in the Apple weather app, which now lands and bounces off sections of the UI, like the roof of a building or canopy – giving an additional sense of depth (we can't wait to see what it looks like with snow, either).Analysis: a refinement of the Apple formula While these small and largely cosmetic features may not be enough to swing a smartphone purchase either way, they do add up – and the amount of love shown on social media could well help Apple push its new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 Max models to a wider audience. Daryl Baxter, TechRadar's Software & Downloads Writer, tells us that "This year Apple has focused on refining features rather than introducing revolutionary ones, such as Focus and LiveText. "iOS 15 is a release that requires users to scratch beneath the surface to discover the refinements, but once they do, they’ll wonder how they managed without them, as I’m discovering with Focus and even the new Weather app." If that's enough to entice you to update from an older iOS build, here's how to get iOS 15 on your phone now.
  6. The company responsible for almost the entirety of AMD's processors and graphics cards, and both next-gen consoles, TSMC, has outlined a plan to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It's no secret that manufacturing semiconductors uses a lot of energy and resources. You'd think power, for one, but water too is required in huge amounts during the chipmaking process. That's why it's especially important, as we all try and cut our carbon footprint, that major manufacturers are following suit. And we're starting to see that now, such as TSMC's latest sustainability promise: "TSMC is deeply aware that climate change has a severe impact on the environment and humanity. As a world-leading semiconductor company, TSMC must shoulder its corporate responsibility to face the challenge of climate change," Dr. Mark Liu, chairman of TSMC, says. "In addition to becoming the world’s first semiconductor company to join RE100, this year we have answered the call to action on net zero and published our TCFD report, aiming to broaden our green influence and drive the industry towards low-carbon sustainability."TSMC says it will aim to cut its emissions growth by 2025, reduce emissions to 2020 levels by 2030, and then hit net zero by 2050. There's a long way to go before the actual chipmaking process can be considered eco-friendly, so we're likely to see a mix of tactics used by the silicon spinning giant to live up to its promise. It says these include mitigation measures, more green innovations, and more renewable energy usage. Energy consumption accounts for 62% of TSMC's emissions, The Guardian reports, so a big part of this promise will be diving into more renewable energy sources. It also says TSMC recently purchased unfettered access to a new Ørsted wind farm in the Taiwan Strait, near to where most of the companies' major operations are located. But will TSMC's 2050 promise be enough or come quick enough? Those are good questions to ask not only for Earth's sake but even TSMC's long list of clients. Large tech companies are beginning to ramp up their own sustainability pledges, and, as 9-to-5 Mac cleverly points out, TSMC is actually caught up in one of them. Apple, one of TSMC's largest clients today, aims to have a net zero emissions supply chain by 2030, which is some 20 years ahead of TSMC's pledge. So those two will be discussing what their options are at some point in the near-future. Of course, it's not just TSMC or Apple with the burden of the responsibility here. Every tech company has a large part to play in reducing C02 emissions worldwide, and at least TSMC's pledge goes to show there's really no excuse for not taking sustainability seriously. If semiconductor manufacturers can cut emissions, so can just about anyone. Speaking of being more eco-friendly with your electronics, let's talk about e-waste and what to do with it.
  7. Call of Duty Warzone's new limited-time Numbers event, which harkens back to the story of the original Black Ops with new points of interest and rewards, is live starting today until October 6. Players can progress in the event by playing either Warzone or Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War. Nine listening stations have been added to Warzone's Verdansk map. Players can activate these listening stations, which are big trucks with huge antennas that broadcast strings of creepy numbers Manchurian Candidate-style, by walking near them and experiencing hallucinations of numbers flashing in your vision. Activating each listening station will earn you in-game cash and various rewards; mostly charms, calling cards, and a new watch. Check out the clip below for a look at the listening stations in action. The Numbers event is an obvious callback to the story of Call of Duty: Black Ops, wherein Mason (the protagonist) is brainwashed by fellow prisoner of war Viktor Reznov with one of these numbered codes. Reznov died in the ensuing escape from a gulag, but his mani[CENSORED]tion ensured that Mason would carry out his vengeance against traitors who used nerve gas on Reznov's men. The Numbers event has also added a new sai melee weapon as an ultimate reward for completing all nine challenges within Warzone or Cold War. There's also a new reactive skin, which paints Adler's outfit with red flashing numbers matching the event. The event ends on October 5 at 9 PM PT in Cold War and 9 PM PT on October 6 in Warzone. You can read the full patch notes here. In the meantime, check out everything we know about Warzone's new map.

  9. After two years of relative early access obscurity, Halo-with-portals arena FPS Splitgate became wildly po[CENSORED]r over the summer—enough that investors are willing to spend $100 million to see where developer 1047 Games can take it next. Splitgate's sudden po[CENSORED]rity might have briefly overloaded the game's servers, but it's also blown open the potential scope for the shooter. Speaking to TechCrunch, 1047 co-founder and CEO Ian Proulx now reckons Splitgate could be the studio's own League of Legends. "There’s so much we couldn’t think about because we were a tiny team with a tiny budget, but now everything is on the table," said Proulx. "We’re focusing on the long term—I look at the game as being 25% done. We don’t need to be Fortnite tomorrow, but now it really is about building the next Riot Games, the next big games business."While set to launch in 1.0 over the summer, 1047 chose to keep the game in open beta indefinitely following the recent surge. That new-found fame coincided somewhat with the game's console release, but Proulx also reckons that in a space dominated by battle royale and hardcore options, there's sizeable demand for a good old fashioned arena shooter that sites somewhere in the middle. "People grew up playing these games, and the reason [the market] is dead is not because they stopped loving them,” he said. “No one has moved the needle because there hasn’t been a lot of innovation, and there hasn’t been something that’s accessible to the masses. Quake Arena is great, but it’s extremely difficult. No 12-year-old Fortnite kid is gonna play it. We really do fill this void." Apparently, Splitgate is now eyeing up a Halo-style in-game map editor, after a pointed jab at Halo Infinite's lack of Forge at launch.
  10. Oppo A54 and Oppo F19 prices in India have been increased by Rs. 1,000. 11. Amazon has finally brought its Android App Store to the redesigned Microsoft Store in Windows 11, but don’t get too excited, as it’s not accessible just yet. Microsoft made sure to showcase the redesigned store when Windows 11 was announced in June, however, Amazon’s App Store has been noticeably absent from the test builds of Windows 11, with Microsoft confirming that it wouldn’t see an appearance until 2022. But there are signs that it could be coming to the Insider Channels soon, allowing some users to test it out. When could Amazon’s App Store be live? From Windows 11 Build 22000, you’ll be able to see Amazon’s App Store displayed in the new Microsoft Store, but selecting it will bring you to a dead link. However, Amazon is also planning on launching a separate app for the Store once Windows 11 launches on October 5, so it could give users two different ways to access Android apps in Windows 11. While this partnership was confirmed back in June, the subsequent Insider Builds have been showcasing the redesigned Microsoft Store with fixes and new features, but Amazon’s App Store had been missing in action. While Microsoft confirmed that this would be appearing in 2022, it looks as though the next major update for Windows 11 will indeed include apps from Amazon. Analysis: the desktop App Store wars are just beginning Since 2012, Apple has had an App Store just for the Mac, allowing users to buy and update apps for their Mac desktops and laptops. But with the change to Apple Silicon from Intel chips, you can now use iOS apps on macOS. In comparison, Microsoft has had it rough with the Windows Store, with subpar search features and an app library that was mostly junk, resulting in users downloading and updating their apps through the web or the apps themselves, and bypassing the store. But the redesigned Microsoft Store in Windows 11 is the first sign that the company is going all in with making sure that it’s a storefront that looks good, but also works well for both users and developers.Having Amazon apps available and ready to be used on laptops, desktops and Surface Pro devices could help entice more customers to upgrade to Windows 11, while being able to use Android apps from Amazon that they’ve been using on their smartphones for years. While we spoke of this move being something of a masterstroke, time will tell whether the combined efforts of the new Microsoft Store and Amazon’s App Store will be a tempting feature for users.
  12. If you're looking to spend as little as possible on a gaming laptop with a discrete GPU, it does not get much cheaper than this Evoo configuration that's on clearance at Walmart. It sports an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 and is on sale for $549, which is a $250 discount over its regular $799 price. How does that compare to other laptops with similar specs? To find out, I sorted Best Buy's laptop section by models that have the same GPU, and the cheapest one that is stock is a Lenovo IdeaPad for $779.99. Even the out-of-stock models go for more, the cheapest being an Acer Nitro with the same specs that was recently on clearance for $611.99 (down from $719.99).The GTX 1650 is based on Nvidia's previous generation Turing GPU architecture. It lacks RTX amenities (dedicated RT cores for real-time ray tracing and Tensor cores for DLSS), so obviously the experience is not going to be the same compared to an RTX 3000 series mobile GPU. But in this case, it's also only $549. As to how it performs, I'll point you to Notebookcheck's vast assortment of benchmarks to get an idea. There are actually instances where a GTX 1650 can crack triple-digit framerates at 1080p (this laptop's native resolution), such as F1 2021, Monster Hunter 2, and some others. In a game like Deathloop, you're generally looking at under 60 fps, though it's still playable. Evoo pairs the GTX 1650 with an Intel Core i5 10300H Comet Lake CPU (4C/8T, 2.5GHz to 4.5GHz, 8MB of L3 cache), 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. None of the specs are anything to salivate over, but they're definitely serviceable for a cheap gaming laptop. And they're upgradeable (it's not too difficult to add more RAM and/or storage). Other specs include an HD webcam, RGB backlit keyboard, THX audio, and a decent assortment of ports (2x USB 3.1, 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB Type-C, 1x Kensington Lock, 1x microSD, 1x LAN, 1x HDMI, 2x mini DisplayPort).

  15. The pandemic has changed so many things about how we all live, perhaps most immediately what we wear: on our feet, around our waists, on our faces and especially on our lips, which after a brief hiatus this summer are once again often covered by masks. I am a longtime lipstick lover. In my medicine cabinet there are no fewer than 25 lipsticks of various shades of red. Some people find their color and stick to it. I think of lipsticks the way others think of shoes: There are different colors for different occasions and different times of day.My lipsticks are all lined up neatly according to brand (Pat McGrath, Nars, Chanel, Mac) and subdivided into colors. True Red. Blue Red. Coral. I can tell you the difference between Mac Ruby Woo and Russian Red. I invest. During the early months of the pandemic, which I spent mostly in my sweats, I would sometimes open the cabinet and look at those glossy tubes and whisper, “One day you will ride again.” (I was the only person in my apartment.) In other words, I would ride again. As the months wore on, though, I began to wonder if this would be the case. Life seemed very far away. You could either have a mask or you could have a lip. Because I am a responsible citizen, I chose the former. Many others did too, it seems. During the economic downturn after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, Leonard Lauder coined the term “lipstick index.” His belief was that the worse the economy is, the more lipstick women are purchasing; we buy the small things when the big things are out of reach. The pandemic upended this. As the economy struggled in 2020, lipstick sales also plummeted. And then, a vaccine! Followed by updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in April that masks were no longer mandatory outdoors. Hello again, lips? Lips aside, there was another question a lot of us were asking ourselves this past spring as we emerged: Who am I now? We were boldly pulling our masks down, ready to once again exist in the world — or at least try to figure out how to exist. What parts of our old style had remained and, of those, which had we only been putting on out of a sense of obligation, which perhaps the pandemic had now freed us from? Were we people who had let all the gray come in? Had a year of staring at our faces up close resulted in reassessing the advantages of fillers? Was anyone actually contemplating shoving their feet back into heels? During the early months of the pandemic, which I spent mostly in my sweats, I would sometimes open the cabinet and look at those glossy tubes and whisper, “One day you will ride again.” (Samuel Bristow/The New York Times) And finally: Lip or no lip? On that first day, when I was able to leave with a mask on my upper arm instead of my face, I automatically reached for my tried-and-true Nars Jungle Red, almost without thinking. For the first time in over a year I felt like myself again. I felt happy. The pandemic had stripped me of many things (touch, first and foremost) but not, it turned out, my devotion to lipstick. Again I was part of a trend. According to numbers released in May, the second the masks came off, lipstick sales shot right back up, to the tune of 80% from the year before, according to CNN Business. “Our beauty regimens are one of the easiest ways to access self-care,” said makeup artist Molly Stern, “and lipstick in particular is a hole-in-one. It takes just a few minutes to apply, and it has instant power to remind us we matter.”This happy reunion was to be temporary. Even before the highly contagious delta variant of the virus revived stricter mask mandates, I was still required to wear one for here and there; subway rides, for instance. And while my Chanel Gabrielle has stood loyally by me for endless activities, it was not made for mask life. I would apply, put on my mask and a short time later look like I’d been in a teenage makeout session, lipstick everywhere but my lips. Some rethinking was going to be necessary. I was going to have to commit. Enter the long-lasting lipstick, many of which, after numerous trips down makeup aisles, I learned the hard way are not mask-lasting. There are, however, a few lipsticks that live up to, or rather, stand up to, our times. At best, all we get to do now is make small decisions about what we can take with us and how to make it fit into this messy uncertain new world. The lipstick remains (literally in this case). (Samuel Bristow/The New York Times) If you are a red lipstick person, the first will not come as a shock. Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day in Beso ($22) has been around for more than a decade and has a devoted following that includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It is an intense red. When you put this on, you really have to mean it. The second is Fenty’s Stunna Lip Pain Longwear Fluid Lip Color ($25). I have it in Uncensored. The key with this one is to blot it immediately after applying: The thinner the layer, the longer it will last (fortunately, a little goes a long way). The third is Maybelline’s Super Stay Matte Ink. I have it in Dancer. If there is a lipstick for our masked times, this is it. (It also sells for about $10.) Here’s what Super Stay means in this context: Once you put it on, it might never come off, certainly not with soap and water, let alone on a mask. (Pro tip: You will need to use an oil-based makeup remover; coconut oil will do.) ALSO READ |Ms Great Britain contestant Elle Seline will not wear makeup to ’empower young women’ After applying it for the first time in 2019, I was still wearing it the next morning. It promptly went into the corner of the medicine cabinet and stayed there. There was such a thing as too much lipstick. But it came back out this summer and has since been the only one that’s stayed out. We now know there is no swift, seamless returning to our old lives. At best, all we get to do now is make small decisions about what we can take with us and how to make it fit into this messy uncertain new world. The lipstick remains (literally in this case). These days mask removal feels like a scene from some sort of secret identity superhero film. Here is me, the 2021 version, dutifully complying with mandates. And now here is me, and my lips, thriving as best we can.
  16. Chinese EV maker Nio has confirmed its new ET7 saloon will arrive on the German market in late 2022, following the imminent arrival of the ES8 SUV, and has hinted at the potential for production in Europe. The ES8 is now on sale in Norway and will soon be available in Germany, where Nio has deemed EV demand sufficient to make a market launch viable, but the brand has yet to confirm a date for its UK launch, which it has previously suggested is highly likely. The ET7 is a Tesla Model S rival with a claimed maximum range of 620 miles (on the Chinese NEDC cycle) from its largest, 150kWh battery and a twin-motor powertrain pumping out 644bhp and 627lb ft for a 0-62mph time of 3.9sec. It also features a raft of advanced driver assistance features that, the company says, enable autonomous driving. The car has already entered trial production at Nio's Hefei plant ahead of Chinese deliveries starting in early 2022, but speaking to German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung recently, chairman William Li said "very high" interest from German customers has prompted the firm to commit to a European roll-out next year. Not only that, but comments from Li in the same interview suggest the firm could cement its market position in Europe by building cars in the region. He said: "I believe if we have a lot of sales in the European market, we can also explore the other possibilities to work with other supply chain partners. "I understand that in Europe, there is manufacturing capacity. We can also explore the possibility to work together with other OEMs and to discuss joint manufacturing with them." The company has not named any potential production partners but this announcement, notably, follows Li's recent investment into Lotus Technology. Lotus said its new partnership with Nio could pave the way for both companies to "explore opportunities for mutually beneficial industrial co-operation". However, given Lotus's European production operations are centred in Norfolk and Nio has yet to launch its cars in the UK, it remains unclear how Lotus could assist in this regard.
  17. Apple AirPods 3 have entered production and the units have also started to ship from suppliers to Apple, says a new report. It adds that the initial production of the rumoured true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones from Apple has been low and could be the reason why we didn't see them along with the iPhone 13 series at Apple's California Streaming event on September 14. It is reported that Apple may launch the second-generation AirPods Pro along with the AirPods 3 at a launch event next month. DigiTimes reports that AirPods 3 TWS earphones have entered production. As mentioned, the report also states that Apple has started receiving the units that have been produced and these may come to market soon. The rumoured AirPods (3rd generation) are said to come with a new chipset and support Apple Music Lossless Audio. The report also speculates a gain in battery life over AirPods (2nd generation). Apple has received enough units of the AirPods 3 and it may launch the TWS earphones later this year, says the report. It adds that these may be launched during an event in October along with the second generation of the AirPods Pro. The launch event next month is also said to unveil new M1X chipset-powered Mac devices. An earlier report suggested that Apple may launch the AirPods 3 during the 'California Streaming' event earlier this week. Market Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has twice predicted that the upcoming TWS earphones will either be priced higher than the AirPods 2 or will have the same price as its predecessor. In both scenarios, Kuo states that Apple will continue selling both earphones simultaneously, as the design of the AirPods 3 is speculated to be similar to the AirPods Pro — as predicted by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in August. Can Nothing Ear 1 — the first product from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei's new outfit — be an AirPods killer? We discussed this and more on Orbital, the Gadgets 360 podcast. Orbital is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts.
  18. WhatsApp is set to introduce a new update that will let users find and search for shops and other e-commerce businesses within the app itself. It’s a first for the Facebook-owned messaging service and forms part of an evolving strategy by the social media giant to boost e-commerce revenues. The search option is currently undergoing testing in Brazil ahead of a planned global rollout, looking to give WhatsApp users quick and easy access to shops and services via a directory contained within the app.Business owners will doubtless warm to the new initiative as it will allow them to become more visible, directly from inside WhatsApp. Unlike Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp has never run ads in its software. Up until now, businesses have been forced to put their WhatsApp number in other places, such as promotional packaging or their e-commerce websites.Business search More recently though, WhatsApp has developed and introduced more tools to help businesses sell their products and services through the hugely po[CENSORED]r social media outlet. There’s now a specialized app for small businesses along with an API that allows larger companies to tailor WhatsApp integration into their own business systems. Adding the component parts together could help businesses improve their turnover and also generate revenue for Facebook. With demand for e-commerce retail proving to be stronger than ever it comes as no surprise to see Facebook continuing to develop its online selling tools. In-app shopping possibilities have grown across the social media platform’s apps with, as an example, Facebook Shops being rolled out to more countries recently. WhatsApp now also features shopping tools including product catalogs and shopping cart options for businesses to use. The current level of testing remains limited to the Sao Paulo area, with several neighborhoods there validating the business potential across a range of categories including food, retail and local services. India and Indonesia are penciled in as the next countries on the list, where WhatsApp will continue to test the new feature. However, having previously faced criticism for confusion over privacy updates, WhatsApp has been keen to stress that it will not know or store the location of search results carried out by consumers.
  19. This is for anyone with a gaming PC and a desire to turn even the most mundane tasks into a light show worthy of Coachella's main stage. OperaGX, the gaming version of the po[CENSORED]r browser, can now be hooked up to your Corsair components through iCUE, allowing you to rig your peripherals, components, and light strips to erupt into colour every time you open a new tab. The iCUE integration will work with a whole heap of mundane browser tasks: browser startup, opening a new tab, closing a tab, turning the browser's CPU/RAM/network limiter on and off, or even when a download finishes. There are more goodies arriving with iCUE support, though. And some of them could be of actual use beyond mere style points. Through its integration with iCUE, Opera can now display a gif on your keyboard when you receive a notification from either Discord, Twitch, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or Instagram.Of course, you will be stuck to Corsair gadgets with the integration of iCUE. That said, Razer peripheral owners have been able to do much of the same for a little while now, as Opera GX previously integrated Razer Chroma support. So frivolous feature? Perhaps, but hey you can't knock more options for user customisation. And there is something appealing about the idea of celebrating every new tab with a ritual rave.
  20. The Steam Deck user interface will serve as a replacement for Steam Big Picture mode, but we've yet to see how it looks on a big screen. Well, now we've caught a glimpse of it, and it looks exactly like what you'd expect: the Steam Deck UI, on a big screen. That's according to screenshots released by Pavel Djundik, creator of SteamDB. According to Djundik, SteamOS 3 has leaked, and some users have started installing the operating system on other portable PCs (things like the GPD Win 3, or the Aya Neo—all existing Steam Deck alternatives, basically). The shots posted by Djundik were taken in Windows, though. Steam Deck UI, it's basically the desktop library just reformatted a bit. There is no way to access the store at the moment. pic.twitter.com/mI2dgAPpckSeptember 15, 2021As Djundik points out, the UI is still a work-in-progress—this has its origins in a dev kit, after all—so you shouldn't take these shots as an indication of the final product. Still, it pretty much looks like what we've already seen on the Steam Deck itself, so it's probably not far from what we'll get come December. Valve confirmed earlier this week that Steam Deck dev kits are being distributed, so expect to see a lot more leaks in the coming weeks and months. Wes went hands on with the Steam Deck last month and you can read his impressions here. Given the reservation situation, the vast majority of users probably won't get their hands on the handheld PC gaming device until well into 2022.
