The number of people who have fled Nagorno-Karabakh for Armenia has risen to nearly 30,000. A quarter of the 120,000 ethnic Armenians living in the region have left since the Azerbaijan military swept in and took control last week. Azerbaijan assured residents they would be safe, but Armenia's prime minister said "ethnic cleansing" was under way in the area. On Monday, a massive fuel blast killed at least 68 people attempting to flee. Nearly 300 more were injured and 105 are missing. It is not yet clear what caused the explosion on Monday evening near the main city of Khankendi, known as Stepanakert by Armenians, but many were refilling their cars. As they crossed the border, thousands of Ethnic Armenians were subject to rigorous checks from Azerbaijani border control. Azerbaijani authorities claimed to be looking for "war crimes" suspects, and one government source told Agence France Presse news agency that the country intended to apply an "amnesty to Armenian fighters who laid down their arms in Karabakh". "But those who committed war crimes during the Karabakh wars must be handed over to us," they said. The only road connecting Armenia to the enclave remains backed up with hundreds of cars and buses, filled with ethnic Armenians trying to reach the town of Goris across the border. A BBC team saw families crammed into cars, boots overflowing and roof-racks piled high with belongings. Convinced they are leaving their homes for good, people are squeezing as much of their lives as possible into their vehicles. Inside Goris, a small town that is the same dusty brown as the jagged mountains that surround it, the narrow streets are filled with more cars and more families. One has arrived in a car held together with little more than sticking tape, its side badly dented and dotted with shrapnel holes, and windows smashed. The owner tells the BBC it was hit by mortar fire when Azerbaijan launched a lightning assault to take control of the region last week. "But it still got us here," he smiles, surrounded by small children. On the main town square, people mill around, unsure what to do next. Volunteers hand out some basic food and blankets. Evacuees are registered and there is the occasional bus to move people on to another town or village. But few seem to have a plan, beyond getting this far. For two days last week, Malina and her family all huddled in their cellar as their village was under fire. After the Karabakh forces surrendered, Malina says the local authorities told everyone to leave for Armenia, for safety. Their village in the Martakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh is now empty. Malina says her family left because - whatever the assurances - they would not feel safe under Azerbaijani rule. That sentiment is echoed by many others watching the situation unfold. On Tuesday, US Secretary of state Antony Blinken urged Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev to provide "unconditional protections and freedom of movement for civilians", and called for "unhindered humanitarian access to Nagorno-Karabakh". UN-Secretary General Antonio Guterres also called for both sides to respect human rights. So far, only one aid delivery of 70 tonnes of food has been allowed through since separatists accepted a ceasefire and agreed to disarm. Azerbaijan announced that another aid convoy, with 40 tonnes of flour and badly-needed hygiene products, was on its way to the enclave. Ethnic Armenian leaders say thousands are without food or shelter and sleeping in basements, school buildings or outside. The Armenian health ministry said it was sending helicopters to evacuate patients from the region's strained hospitals. Azerbaijan also said it had sent medical supplies. Explained: Conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh Panic in Karabakh as people fear ethnic cleansing Spoils of Karabakh war paraded as aid trickles in On Tuesday, envoys from Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Brussels for European Union-backed talks. It was the first time diplomatic negotiations have been held between the two countries since Azerbaijan seized the enclave last week. Azerbaijan has also started separate negotiations with Karabakh's ethnic Armenian authorities about the region's future. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66931178

With the onset of Patch 1.7.48 Update in Mobile Legends, Minsitthar will undergo a number of changes, and his skills will be altered and revamped in a new way. Optimizations have been studied and made, which keeps his role as a roamer clear while creating new opportunities for him on the battlefield. Along with the Minisitthar revamp, there have been other Hero adjustments and Battlefield adjustments, which we will break down more in this Patch 1.7.48 Update in the Mobile Legends Advanced Server. Revamped Hero: Minsitthar. With Minsitthar’s revamp, the developers have aimed to keep Spear of Glory and King’s Calling as his core skills and therefore have retained their functionality, while doing some optimizations. In addition, the developers have redesigned his Skill 2 and Passive to keep his roaming role, while opening up new possibilities for the EXP Lane. They have also been meticulously working on his visual design. There will be a completely new design on the Advanced Server which the developers have created, based on its new model and portrait. Hero Feature: A courageous warrior that strikes with a spear and shield. Passive: Mark of the King Minsitthar’s Basic attacks and skills apply a stack of Mark of the King, up to 5 stacks. Upon reaching the maximum number of stacks, the next attack detonates all Marks to deal a large amount of damage and stun the enemy. Skill 1: Spear of Glory When pulling back his spear, Minsitthar will pull all enemy heroes in its path towards him. Skill 2: Shield Assault Minsitthar holds up his shield, reducing incoming damage from the front for a period of time. While in this stance, Minsitthar’s Basic attacks thrust his spear at an area in front of him and increased Attack Speed. Ultimate: King’s Calling His cast range has been slightly increased. The Royal Guards’ attack range has been slightly increased. Mobile Legends Patch 1.7.48 Update: Hero Adjustments Arlott (Buffed) The combat performance has been improved in all aspects. If you're wondering why I'm posting this so late, it's because I stayed up last night to watch The Game Awards 2022 live. For the second year in a row, I represented the Zone as part of the official jury of the event, and I felt very happy. So between sips of coffee, I sorted through my notes from last night and I'm going to give you a brief rundown of what happened at the event. I put them in chronological order (until I lost track) and I really hope I didn't miss anything. The Game Awards kicked off with a half-hour introductory segment, during which the winners of several categories were revealed and we saw some very interesting trailers. I'll start with the games, because that's what we're all interested in, and the evening started off strong with the news that Returnal is coming to PC. Soon we saw images from the new game Hellboy: Web of Wyrd and the warm-up party continued with a new title from the Horizon universe. Call of the Mountain is being developed for PSVR2 and looks set to be a launch title for PlayStation's new virtual reality headset. A title I've been following for some time is Atomic Heart. At The Game Awards 2022 I got to see him in all his Wolfenstein student glory and I can say that I'm very pleased with what I saw. Next came Among Us Hide'n'Seek which sent the room into a frenzy and I was introduced to After Us - a game that sent me thinking straight to the Legend of Zelda series. And if it's going to be like that, I'm glad that a similar game will make its way to platforms other than the Nintendo Switch. This entrance ended with the trailer of Street Fighter 6 which looks very good and has a rather fresh air. After that the transition to the main event was made and we will do it too, but not before taking a look at the winners of the first scoring categories: Best Mobile Game – Marvel Snap; Best Fighting Game – Multiversus; Best Family Game – Kirby and the Forgotten Land; eSports Awards: Best Game (Valorant), Best Athlete (YAY), Best Team (Loud), Best Coach (BZKA) and Best Event (2022 League of Legends World Championship). The Game Awards 2022 main event was crazy! The main event didn't even get off to a good start and we could already see Al Pacino walking on stage. It featured the winner of the Best Actor title and was just one of the big names that made an appearance at the gala. Along with the legendary actor we could see Hozier and Daniel Craig, but also important faces from the video game industry such as Phil Spencer (Xbox CEO), Reggie Fils-Aime (former Nintendo president) and many others. But the stars of the show were all the games, so I'll make two lists. First we talk about the games that won various awards at The Game Awards 2022, then we talk about the future and take a look at the hottest announcements. Elden Ring has been crowned the best game of 2022, and it's a well-deserved title. Even if I would have chosen God of War Ragnarok, I cannot deny the correct victory of the souls-like game. Especially since it won several awards, so I'm going to list them all here: Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction and Best Role Playing. But just as impressive was the collection of titles grabbed by the God of War sequel which went home as the winner of the following categories: Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance (Christopher Judge as Kratos), Innovation in Accessibility and Best Action / Adventure. And lo and behold, 10 out of 31 awards were shared between this year's giants. The other titles to win in more than one category are Final Fantasy XIV and cat indie sensation Stray. The game developed by Annapurna Interactive took home the Best Indie and Best Debut Indie titles after impressing gamers with its release in July this year. Final Fantasy XIV on the other hand isn't a new title, but that's what makes it special, so it's still holding on heroically 12 years after its initial release and won Best Ongoing and Best Community Support. We also have Bayonetta 3 which won Best Action Game and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope which went home crowned Best Sim / Strategy. The rest of the winners are as follows: Games for Impact – As Dusk Falls; Best VR / AR – Moss: Book II; Best Sports / Racing – Gran Turismo 7; Best Multiplayer – Splatoon 3; Content Creator of the Year – Ludwig; Best Adaptation – Arcane: League of Legends; Most Anticipated Game – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Last night's hottest announcements The Game Awards 2022 didn't just serve as an award show, it brought together the entire video game industry. In addition to the releases that excited us in the year that is about to end, we also got to know some of the titles that we will be able to play in 2023. Here we have made a selection of the games or DLCs that caught my eye attention, so we're going to do a group exercise and I want you to tell me in the comments which of last night's presentations particularly stood out to you. I start! Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the first major expansion for CD Projekt Red's game. If I found Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand impressive, the introduction of Idris Elba as Solomon Reed left me speechless. The actor known for his appearances in Marvel Cinematic Universe films and series like Luther comes to Night City as part of a DLC that introduces new mechanics, new combat modes, a different story and characters and bizarrely, is only available on the platforms current, so no PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. Also in the DLCs category we could also see the next expansion for Horizon Forbidden West. It's about Burning Shores that takes place in a dystopian Los Angeles and takes the game's story forward. And to finish with the expansions, the Dead Cells universe has become more interesting now, after the collaboration with Castlevania. But let's move on to the big news and talk about the most exciting games we saw at The Game Awards 2022. We start with Hades 2, the sequel to one of the best games of 2018 that took both critics and fans by surprise. and gamers at the time. Also in the category of sequels we are also talking about Death Stranding 2, and here is an interesting story. Hideo Kojima had already started work on the second game in the series, but his plans were overturned by the pandemic so he complied and rewrote everything to adapt it to the times. In this way, I think this will be the first big game to tackle the theme of COVID-19. en Levine is a household name in the industry as the brilliant mind behind BioShock. It should come as no surprise that Judas, his next game, was received with open arms by the public. The game appears to be a narrative-driven survival FPS and has strong BioShock vibes. I can't complain and I can't wait to learn more about him. We also have a new game from the Star Wars universe, so Respawn Entertainment presented us with Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. As you might have guessed from the name, this is a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, and if it's at least as good, we'll be talking about it a lot more. Diablo 4 is coming in 2023 alongside Street Fighter 6 and games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Other titles worth mentioning are The Last of Us Part I coming to PC in Spring 2023 and a prequel to this year's best action game, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. That was The Game Awards 2022, an edition where Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok flexed their muscles and went home with a total of ten awards. We got to know a lot of new and exciting games, saw what I'll be wasting hundreds of hours on in 2023, and celebrated with this year's favorite games that managed to get their hands on well-deserved trophies. I would have liked to see games like A Plague Tale: Requiem or Horizon: Forbidden West on the list of winners, but with such strong competition 2022 was not their year. https://zonait.ro/the-game-awards-2022-jocul-anului-lansari/

WhatsApp is one of the most po[CENSORED]r internet messaging apps on smartphones. The platform is available on a wide range of iPhone and Android smartphones that you can download and use for free. WhatsApp is gradually introducing new features to the mix to enhance the user experience, including the Stories feature in the Status tab. However, the platform drops support for older smartphones from time to time. According to the latest, WhatsApp will soon drop support for Apple's older iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. WhatsApp to soon drop support for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c by December 31, 2022 According to GizChina, WhatsApp will soon drop support for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c, along with almost 50 other devices, by December 31. Besides these iPhone models, the list includes Samsung's Galaxy S3, HTC Desire 500, and much more. Take note that WhatsApp is no longer available for devices running iOS 10 or iOS 11. This means that WhatsApp was already discontinued on iPhone 5c and iPhone 5. Apple launched the iPhone 5 back in 2012 with an A6 chip that ran iOS 6. The iPhone 5c was launched in 2013 with the same chip and both devices have been updated until 2019 with iOS 10.3.4. If you happen to own an iPhone 5s, you will still be able to use WhatsApp. However, be sure to update to the latest firmware in order to keep using the messaging platform. WhatsApp states that it drops support for older phones to improve the experience for users on modern smartphones. Currently, WhatsApp is available on the App Store and Play Store for free and requires iOS 12 or newer versions. It would be best if you keep a backup of your chats and data if you are using the listed smartphones. We will keep you guys updated on the latest, so be sure to stick around. Share your thoughts with us in the comments. To choose what to stop supporting, every year we, like other technology companies, look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the fewest number of people still using them. These devices also might not have the latest security updates, or might lack the functionality required to run WhatsApp. https://wccftech.com/you-will-no-longer-be-able-to-use-whatsapp-on-iphone-5-iphone-5c-and-other-phones/

After spending big over the holidays the last thing you want to do is drop any more money than you have to on things like peripherals. Whether you're complimenting your new holiday setup or simply need a replacement or an upgrade, having to dish out hundreds of dollars isn't exactly ideal. Especially if you've just spent your holiday paycheck on things like presents and some very festive eggnog. That's why we're still at work, scanning the internet for deals, including this very nice price for a Razer Ornata Chroma mecha-membrane keyboard.(opens in new tab) BestBuy is offering the Razer Ornata Chroma wired mecha-membrane keyboard for only $25.99 USD over at BestBuy(opens in new tab). That's $74 off the listed RRP, but to be fair we rarely see these boards going for that $99.99 ticket price. Instead, these often come down to around $70 or even close to the $50 mark(opens in new tab) which is still a good deal. At half that, there's not exactly much to lose. Membrane keyboards may not be the tool of choice for many gamers, but this one does a fairly good job of mimicking that mechanical feel. It's not quite there, but that mecha-membrane solution feels a little bit like Cherry's MX Blue switches. At its current price, Razer's Ornata is easily a very nice compromise from a name brand peripheral maker. The model up for sale is the classic black, but that can be spruced up easily with the RGB effects Razer is known for. That means if you're looking for a subtle office board or a blazing gaming setup the Ornata should do the job. It also comes with a fairly nice little wrist wrest for that extra touch of comfort. Razer Ornata Chroma| Mecha-Membrane Keyboard | RGB Lighting and wrist wrest| only $25.99 at BestBuy It's basically impossible to say no to something this cheap, at least for me. If I walked past this in the store I'd probably be compelled to pick it up for no good reason at all. That being said it's a very decent non-mechanical board at a good price. You probably wouldn't regret it. When the Ornata first released with its mecha-membrane keys, it was priced at point that had it competing with pure-bred mechanical boards. It was a tough one to recommend at that price when you could get one featuring top-notch mechanical switches(opens in new tab). At $25.99 USD that number one complaint has melted away. Now it's a pretty great keyboard at a very nice price. Though it is a little older than some might like. And that's not to say you can't get some excellent gaming keyboards to suit your budget(opens in new tab). Even some very nice mechanical ones, but you'll find plenty of membrane based models in that list too. With 2023 just around the corner and CES soon to follow in early Jan, we're bound to see some new hot tech, and that may even include keyboards. Maybe we'll see something beautiful and pricey like this interactive screen keyboard complete with GPU and CPU to run graphics. What I don't think we'll find, is a keyboard quite matching up to this combination of cheap and good, so I think this one is a fairly safe bet. https://www.pcgamer.com/this-razer-keyboard-is-only-dollar2599-at-bestbuy/

The government held its first public consultation meeting with various industry and policy stakeholders related to the proposed Digital India Act (DIA). The government intends to replace the IT Act 2000, which was created in the early days of the internet, with the newly proposed Digital India Act. Internet and information technology have empowered citizens but they have also created challenges in the form of user harm; security; women and child safety; organised information wars, radicalisation and circulation of hate speech; misinformation and fake news; unfair trade practices. The current Act according to a government presentation, has limitations such as a lack of comprehensive provisions on user rights, trust, and safety; limited recognition of new forms of cybercrimes; lack of regulatory approaches for harmful and illegal content; lack of adequate principles for data/privacy protection, among others. In his presentation made in Bengaluru, Union minister of state for information and technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the new law should evolve through rules that can be updated, and address the tenets of Digital India -- Open Internet, Online Safety, and Trust, Accountability, and Quality of Service, Adjudicatory mechanism, and New Technologies. "1st time in the history of India - public consultant for a new law starts with a dialogue on goals&design principles of #DigitalIndiaAct," Chandrasekhar tweeted. The minister explained all the tenets of Digital India to stakeholders through the presentation. An Open Internet, as per the presentation, should have a choice; competition; online diversity, fair market access, Ease of Doing Business, and Ease of Compliance for Startups. Privacy-invasive devices such as spy camera glasses and wearable tech may be mandated under stringent regulation before market entry with strict KYC requirements for retail sales with appropriate criminal law sanctions. Content Monetisation Rules for platform-generated and user-generated content also found mentioned in the presentation. Going ahead, the government will conduct a comparative study of all relevant global laws pertaining to the internet and technology in other countries, before coming up with the draft bill. https://www.gadgets360.com/internet/news/digital-india-act-government-public-consultation-meeting-held-rajeev-chandrasekhar-3850229

football at 41 years old this summer due to an injury. Paradoxes of life, the forward who had never had a muscle injury in his more than 20-year career, had to retire after breaking his cruciate on March 12 against Ponferradina. He was four games away from renewing, but fate wanted it that way. His life has changed but he is still linked to football as part of Paco López's coaching staff at Granada. "Now I work from 8 to 8." In this interview in MARCA he reviews his career and sends a message to the fans of Alcoyano, Gandía, Benidorm, Poli Ejido, Elche, Betis, Getafe and Granada who enjoyed his almost 800 games and more than 300 goals since he debuted in his Alcoy born at the age of 17 on May 7, 1999. Q. And what is your relationship with your former teammates like? For example, is it easier with someone like Bryan who you already met as a player than with someone new like Boyé? A. It's a bit strange because you go from being with them as teammates in the locker room to having another role. From naturalness because I know the majority and they know me, because day to day they get along well. In the end, the new ones who have come also see the relationship I have with the others and perhaps it is a little closer than with other members of the coaching staff because of what I have lived with them. Tips? That goes a little more with the character of the player. For example, Torrente, who is a boy who is very receptive, who always wants to improve, learn, restless, who is always asking questions. You try to help young people especially from experience. https://www.marca.com/futbol/granada/2023/10/15/65290db722601dec118b45b1.html

Two men have been sentenced after admitting using dogs to hunt wild hares in Angus. Alexander Stewart, 35, from Aberdeen, was given a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work, and Jackie Stewart, 42, from Fife, was fined £1,000. They previously pled guilty at Forfar Sheriff Court to wildlife offences near Kirriemuir carried out in 2020. The Crown Office welcomed the convictions for "cruel" crimes. The men were also banned from keeping dogs for six months. The court heard a local farmer spotted a blue Subaru vehicle belonging to Alexander Stewart pulling out of a junction at the crossroads of Powmyre and Kinalty. Police were called in due to suspicions about hare coursing, and both men were detained. Incriminating mobile phone exchanges were found. Fiona Caldwell, head of the Crown's Wildlife and Environmental Crime Unit, said: "I welcome the conviction and sentence of Alexander and Jackie Stewart. Hare coursing is a cruel and wholly illegal act. "The Crown will continue to work to ensure that anyone who hunts hares with dogs is brought to justice. We would encourage anyone who may have information on hare coursing to contact the police." https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-63745055

Christmas is fast approaching, but you could be forgiven for wanting to slow down your purchases. With the rise of the mindful, minimal-waste consumer, many are looking for gift-giving options that don’t cost the earth. Enter, the pre-Christmas stuff swap. At a stuff swap, one person’s trash is another’s stocking stuffer. Pre-loved clothes, toys and books are fair game, provided they’re in good, regiftable condition. The Clothing Exchange, which runs swap events across Australia, has seen a surge in demand this year. “It’s absolutely exploded,” says national coordinator Kirsten Fredericks. Before the pandemic, it was a bumper year if they hosted 10 swap events; in 2022, they’ve run more than double that amount. And swappers aren’t just browsing for themselves – they’re seeking gifts for friends and family. Sign up for the fun stuff with our rundown of must-reads, pop culture and tips for the weekend, every Saturday morning As with many social situations, there are unwritten rules, guidelines and etiquette that go with a stuff-swap. Last year, I hosted my own stuff swap in the lead-up to Christmas and so, based on that event and with some expert advice, here are the golden rules to making your stuff-swap a success. Make a date Compare calendars with your keenest friends to ensure you have a core group of swappers. Aim for November, or early December, as people are less busy, and less likely to have started shopping. If you have children, make sure you hold it after their bedtime (or at least away from their watchful gazes). When it comes to the invitation list, don’t worry if your guests don’t know each other. I ended up with about 20 friends from different social circles, but their mutual swapping enthusiasm meant they got along wonderfully. Different types of glasses require different washing methods – or just opt for easy, universal glassware ‘Leave it until the morning after’: how to properly wash wine glasses Read more Prepare (or pre-buy) some light refreshments, or you can ask guests to contribute. On the day, make sure you clear your tables of your incidental household items (in case your favourite coasters are mistaken as swap-fodder). Then let the fun begin. My friend Amy remembers the joy and conviviality of my swap. “The house turned into an op shop, it was amazing!” She also recalls an “atmosphere of generosity” – there was no snatching. In fact, guests took to offering around items before claiming them. Make the rules fair There are two goals: to purge unwanted gift-worthy items, and to acquire gift-worthy items. It’s about quality, not quantity. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2022/nov/22/the-house-turned-into-an-op-shop-how-to-host-a-pre-christmas-stuff-swap

"If you believe in competition, you should believe in this deal." Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has spoken up to defend his company's blockbuster proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard, saying it will help generate even more competition in the gaming space, not lessen it. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Nadella said Microsoft is trying to buy Activision Blizzard to compete better against bigger players in the market like Sony and Tencent. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has spoken up to defend his company's blockbuster proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard, saying it will help generate even more competition in the gaming space, not lessen it. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Nadella said Microsoft is trying to buy Activision Blizzard to compete better against bigger players in the market like Sony and Tencent "Being a No. 4 player trying to add some content and create more opportunity for more publishers, more gamers to be able to enjoy--I mean if you believe in competition, you should believe in this deal," he said, according to The Wall Street Journal. "I hope the competition authorities get focused more on competition and that would be a good day." In the US, Microsoft is facing a lawsuit from the Federal Trade Commission, which is trying to block the deal. Microsoft said it tried to give peace a chance and is now prepared to defend itself in court. The European Union, meanwhile, is reportedly gearing up to present an antitrust warning over the proposed sale. Microsoft has said if its deal for Activision Blizzard goes through, it would not remove Call of Duty from PlayStation consoles. Making Call of Duty exclusive to Xbox would be a "disastrous" business decision, Microsoft has said. The mobile gaming market is one of the biggest and fastest-growing sectors of gaming, and Microsoft does not currently have much of a foothold in the space, which is another reason why Microsoft is pursuing its deal for Activision Blizzard so aggressively. Also at the World Economic Forum, Nadella said Microsoft will try to incorporate AI systems into all of its products in the future, and this would presumably include Xbox. "Every product of Microsoft will have some of the same AI capabilities to completely transform the product," Nadella said. Microsoft is reportedly set to announce a $10 billion investment into the startup OpenAI, which has generated a lot of discussion and buzz around its ChatGPT product. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/microsoft-ceo-defends-proposed-activision-blizzard-buyout/1100-6510631/

Todd Howard has given a wide-ranging interview on the Lex Fridman podcast, during which he talked a little more about Bethesda's upcoming Starfield(opens in new tab), which following a delay(opens in new tab) is set for release early next year. I'm still just expecting this to be Skyrim in space, and I'll play the hell out of it, but Howard gives a little more detail on how the star systems will be structured and some of the things that were "dialled back" for being too hardcore. On the game's number of 1000 planets(opens in new tab), Howard says that's all about having "a set we can validate and know about." With Bethesda's technology they could have generated as many as they wanted: "a hundred planets or a thousand or a million, you just change the number, press the button." But Howard says this means you can't know what the experience will be like for anyone landing on those planets, which may well be taken by some as a not-so-coded reference to No Man's Sky. As for the feel of piloting in space, the game's intended to communicate that this is a hard thing to do without constantly killing the player. "We've dialled it back," said Howard. "You used to run out of fuel, jump out, you get stranded: on paper it's a great moment." When this happened players had to call a beacon and wait to see who'd turn up. But what Bethesda designers found when playing the game was that every so often you'd accidentally run out of fuel… and then you'd just end up exploring nearby planets, and mining to try and find fuel. "It's a fun killer." Howard does note that Bethesda may return to some of these ideas post-launch with some sort of more hardcore survival mode. As for the systems themselves, they'll be structured in the same way that a lot of RPGs traditionally approach world-arranging. "We do level the systems, when you enter you'll see like this is a level 40 system," said Howard. "Like when you look at a map in a game it says 'this is the area for low level' basis, so we do that on a system basis." Other tidbits: different space suits will have different tolerances for atmospheric conditions like toxicity and temperature, so some will be more useful than others. There are enemy robots out in space! Though most robots are utility robots. Other ships will come and go from starports, and can make contact with you. Howard also refers to Starfield as a "platform seller" in which context, of course, delaying the game was "tough" but also "the right thing to do". There's also a part where Howard says he personally prefers gaming on console in his leisure time, purely because he works in front of a PC all day. We'll skip that one over shall we. Et tu, Toddy? Finally, Howard claims that Starfield's planets have their own orbits and move around the sky: which I will say is cool as hell, and let's wait to see what it means in practice. Bethesda's marketing for this has all been a bit fuzzy so far, but there's still a lot of solid details about what will hopefully be one of next year's biggest hitters: here's everything we know about Starfield(opens in new tab). https://www.pcgamer.com/todd-howard-says-youll-never-run-out-of-fuel-in-starfield-because-its-a-fun-killer/

FTX founder Bankman-Fried, 30, has been under house arrest at his parents' California home after pleading not guilty. A US judge on Wednesday temporarily barred FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried from contacting current or former employees of the cryptocurrency exchange or his Alameda Research hedge fund, and from using encrypted messaging tools including Signal. The ruling by US District Judge Lewis Kaplan came after federal prosecutors in Manhattan said Bankman-Fried might tamper with witnesses or destroy evidence in his criminal fraud case. He was arrested in December on charges of looting billions of FTX customer funds, and lying to investors and lenders. Prosecutors last week cited a Signal message Bankman-Fried sent on January 15 to the general counsel of the FTX US affiliate, referred to in court papers as "Witness-1." Bankman-Fried proposed the two speak on the phone to try to "have a constructive relationship" or "vet things with each other." Bankman-Fried, 30, has been under house arrest at his parents' California home after pleading not guilty. His lawyers said last week that his efforts to contact the general counsel the company's current chief executive, John Ray, were attempts to offer "assistance" and not to interfere. Kaplan appeared skeptical of that argument, writing that Bankman-Fried's January 15 message "appears to have been an effort to have both the defendant and Witness-1 sing out of the same hymn book." "While defendant's counsel seeks to have the Court interpret that message in a benign way, that does not appear, at least on a preliminary basis, to be a persuasive reading," Kaplan wrote. A spokesperson for Bankman-Fried declined to comment. Kaplan wrote that the new restrictions on Bankman-Fried's conduct would be in place until at least February 7, when he would hold a hearing to consider both sides' arguments. The order does not apply to Bankman-Fried's immediate family members, and he may communicate with FTX or Alameda employees if lawyers are present. At next week's hearing, Kaplan will also consider a request by Bankman-Fried's lawyers to allow him to access and transfer cryptocurrency. https://www.gadgets360.com/cryptocurrency/news/ftx-founder-sam-bankman-fried-barred-from-contacting-employees-using-signal-encrypted-messages-3745014
