  3. iPhone 15 Pro Max — Apple's latest premium smartphone that features a new titanium frame and curved edges went on open sale on September 22. As more people are finally getting their hands on the new flagship, fresh sets of durability tests have started to come in. Most recently, the PhoneBuff team has posted a drop test video comparing the iPhone 15 Pro Max against the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The test compares the durability of the devices to help you pick the strongest between the two. In the video, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is seen surviving much of the drop tests without cracking. Also read: iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and More to Be Available With Massive Discounts During Amazon and Flipkart Sales The video starts with a backdrop test that involves dropping the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra to a concrete surface on their backside. The former gets scratches and cracks on its glass rear panel after the first round, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra suffered some cracks to the corner. It is important to note that Apple has provided a grade 5 titanium build for the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max with Ceramic Shield protection. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection against drops. In the second corner drop test, the Galaxy S23 Ultra with sharp edges suffered noticeable splinters, while the rounded corners of the iPhone 15 Pro Max protected it from further damage, but the first drop test already inflicted the device, and the rear glass started to fall apart. In the third round, known as the face drop test, both the Galaxy S23 Ultra's and iPhone 15 Pro Max's displays get cracked. Samsung's flagship comes out relatively less damaged with minor cracks. However, both the devices remain functional. In the final round, they were dropped onto a steel plate to measure their shock resistance. The Galaxy S23 Ultra looked more or less the same after the fourth round of fall, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max's rear glass continued to shatter and fall apart. Although both phones took a toll, the video concludes that Galaxy S23 Ultra just edged out the iPhone 15 Pro Max as it appears to have survived most of it. The Samsung offering got a final score of 39 points versus the iPhone's 37 points.
  4. Some Windows 11 users are reporting problems with the update that provided the Copilot AI when it arrived last week (among a good deal of other features). That’s the KB5030310 update, which we should note is a preview update for those using Windows 11 22H2. (Folks can get the upgrade, and Copilot plus other goodies, by ensuring that they have chosen the option to ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available’ in Windows Update). As Windows Latest reports, some users who have installed KB5030310 (with the mentioned option to get the latest features activated) have run into some fairly nasty gremlins. That includes reports of File Explorer – the central part of the Windows 11 interface that lets you work with folders and files on the desktop – becoming more prone to buggy behavior, and running noticeably slower in general. (Including sluggishness rendering the actual interface which sounds jarring indeed, as mentioned on Reddit). Other folks are complaining about weirdness with the search box in the taskbar, with it failing to work, or the magnifying glass icon not rendering properly (in fact it’s shown as a letter ‘C’, oddly). More worryingly, Windows Latest brings our attention to system crashes post-update, and black screens (the latter aren’t complete lock-ups, at least in some reported cases, and can be escaped from by bringing up the Task Manager). Another bigger glitch here affects those who are using AMD graphics cards, and running the latest driver – apparently, KB5030310 doesn’t play nice with the Adrenalin driver 23.9.3. Every time the PC is restarted, those AMD GPU owners are telling us that their settings are being reset, which is going to get pretty old, pretty fast. Analysis: The perils of previews That’s a fair old raft of problems, then, some of which are going to be unpleasant to be visited on your PC. However, this is a preview update, and Microsoft is still working on the functionality therein – so it’s hardly unexpected to see flaws popping up. In fact, it’s very much expected, and of course, we get glitches on finished updates for Windows 11, not just those still officially in testing. Unfortunately, if you want to get the latest features like Copilot straight away – as per the aforementioned toggle – via a preview release, then you have to be aware that you’re running some level of additional risk for encountering bugs. What’s a bit more baffling is despite the reports coming in via Reddit and Microsoft’s Feedback Hub that Windows Latest has highlighted here, Microsoft still doesn’t see anything wrong. In the support document for KB5030310, the company states: “Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update.” There may, however, be investigations underway regarding the reports of the various glitches covered above, so we might hear soon enough from Microsoft as to what’s going on with these apparent issues (and how widespread they might be, perhaps).
  5. ComputerBase reports that Windows 11's new RGB control software is now available for all Windows 11 users to try with the latest Windows updates. To try it for yourself, all you have to do is activate the "Receive the latest updates as soon as they are available" toggle in the Windows Update settings menu and grab the latest Windows 11 update. Microsoft announced native RGB controls for Windows 11 back in May during its annual developer conference. Since then, Microsoft's RGB software has been in beta testing with Microsoft Insiders, but apparently, it is now in a mature enough state for everyone to use. Microsoft's new RGB control software aims to revolutionize the RGB software industry, potentially killing off dozens of 3rd party RGB software variants. With a proper RGB control solution now integrated into Windows 11, we could be on the verge of a completely unified RGB software experience, across multiple RGB manufacturers, which is something we've never seen before. Currently, if you want to control all RGB devices from one control panel, you need to buy all of your RGB devices from a single manufacturer or invest in third party RGB software like SignalRGB that can control devices from multiple manufacturers. The problem with 3rd part manufacturers is that they don't get official support like native RGB control software does, which can lead to bugs and issues. With Windows 11's control software, that could change. Now manufacturers will be incentivized to focus on supporting Microsoft's new RGB software. We've already seen glimpses of Microsoft's new RGB control software in action. The app will be integrated directly into the settings app, under the personalization menu. The new software will show a list of all your RGB-compatible devices, and enable you to click each one to customize RGB effects, brightness, and color profiles. For now, there doesn't appear to be a way to synchronize RGB behavior across multiple devices, but we suspect that will come in a future update later down the road. The good news is that the new RGB control software is finally out of beta, and can be used by everyone on Windows 11. Microsoft's compatibility list is pretty short at this time, amounting to just 19 supported Razer peripherals, but hopefully this list expands rapidly once it is automatically integrated into all Windows 11 systems in the future.

  11. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G powered by an octa-core Exynos 1330 SoC was launched in India in January. Now, Samsung seems to be on track to release another A-series handset named Galaxy A15. Ahead of any official announcement, a render of the Galaxy A15 has surfaced on the Web, giving us a glimpse at the phone and suggesting that it is indeed on route for an official release. The early render suggests a triple rear camera unit on the Galaxy A15 5G. Known tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted an alleged render of the Galaxy A15 on X (formerly Twitter). The render shows the handset from the back and it suggests a triple-camera unit at the rear. The camera setup is arranged at the top left corner of the panel. The sensors are housed in circular modules and they are seen placed vertically with a small LED flash unit beside them. Further, the Samsung branding appears to be inked at the bottom. As is evident, the phone looks very similar to the Galaxy A14 5G. The Galaxy A15 is speculated to come with a 6.4-inch display with a waterdrop-style notch on the display. It could measure 160.2 x 76.8 x 8.4mm. Samsung Galaxy A15 is expected to debut as a successor to the Galaxy A14 5G. The Galaxy A14 5G was launched in January with a starting price tag of Rs. 16,499, while the 4G variant debuted in May with an initial price tag of Rs. 13,999. The Galaxy A14 5G features a 6.6-inch full-HD+(1,080x2,408 pixels) PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It runs on an octa-core Exynos 1330 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. For selfies and video chats, it has a 13-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. Samsung has packed 64GB of inbuilt storage on the Galaxy A14 5G that is expandable via a microSD storage slot (up to 1TB). It houses a 5,000mAh battery.
  12. Following updates to iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, it’s now iCloud’s turn as Apple is redesigning the website as well as introducing a variety of new features. It’s not a complete overhaul for iCloud mind you, as the quick-glance widgets from last year’s update are still here. The difference this time is users will be able to do more with them. You can now “customize what you see in Tiles”, from choosing a specific folder from the Notes app on your iPhone to picking out your favorite photographs. It’s even possible to have multiple layouts of the same tile displayed on the front page. Quality-of-life changes Next, Quick Actions are being added, allowing you mark reminders as complete or flag a particular email among other things. You can perform these by hovering over your files on iCloud then selecting the three dots that appear to reveal the menu. Apple states “on a touch device” just swipe left. Also, if you’re a PC user, you’re now able to receive Mail and Calendar notifications for incoming emails or event invitations. Most of the changes are nice quality-of-life upgrades that make your life a bit easier. For iCloud Mail, you’re now able to attach files to messages directly from your storage and you can unsend recently sent emails before they reach the recipient’s inbox. The Calendar isn’t changing much, but it is getting Identity Control for hiding the email addresses “others see in event invitations”. Additionally, Apple is letting people use their Custom Email Domain to combine their “Calendar and Mail identities” into one. New image tools For Photos, you get two new ways to enjoy your pictures. There’s the Memories tool that’ll go through your images in a full-screen view, similar to what Google Photos has on its platform. And you have Slideshow, which, as the name suggests, lets you view a selection of images in a slideshow format. Finally, Notes is receiving several changes. The more notable two are Shared Folder for collaborating with others on a specific file of notes and Enhanced Search. The latter lets you narrow search results “against categories like shared notes” or tags. That’s pretty much it for the major upgrades. The update is currently live. All you have to do is sign in, and iCloud will then take you through a brief tour of the revamped layout. If you’re looking for another service to save important files, we recommend checking out TechRadar’s list of the best cloud storage for 2023.
  13. Intel has started shipments of its Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KF 'Raptor Lake Refresh' to reviewers and retailers, so it is not surprising that images of these of the packaging have leaked. Hardware leakers @9550pro and I_Leak_VN have published and re-published images of both CPU boxes (one of which was leaked by @LepherAndrey), which indicates that the CPUs are indeed arriving at various addressees. Intel apparently decided not to bother with inventing an all-new new fancy package for its flagship Raptor Lake Refresh offerings like it did in the past with Core i9-13900K/KS, Core i9-12900K/KS, Core i9-11900K, and Core i9-9900K, but it is using a similar box to the one it offered with the 13th Gen flagships. The new top-of-the-range Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KF CPUs are beoshipped in dark blue box containing a silicon-wafer inspired plastic case and marked as 'i9 14th Gen' and 'Intel Core Unlocked.' The CPU — which will likely be among the best CPUs for gaming — can be seen in a window on a side of the package and it can be observed that the company is shipping SRN48 S-Spec of the CPU. One thing that is notably missing from images of the Core i9-14900K/KF boxes published so far are specifications for the CPUs. Howe, we already know that these CPUs pack eight high-performance Raptor Lake cores with a maximum single-core turbo boost frequency of 6.0 GHz as well as 16 energy-efficient Gracemont cores running at clocks beyond 4.30 GHz. All Intel's 14th Generation Core 'Raptor Lake Refresh' processors will be drop-in compatible with existing LGA1700 motherboards based on Intel 600 and Intel 700-series chipsets equipped with an appropriate BIOS and featuring a voltage regulating module that can handle these CPUs. Intel is expected to formally launch its enthusiast-oriented Core i9-14900K/KF, Core i7-14700K/KF, and Core i5-14600K/KF processors with unlocked multiplier on October 17, 2023.

After moving across states to pursue a music career, Max signed with Atlantic Records in 2016, and released his first original music single "Sweet but Psycho" on August 17, 2018. The song reached the top of the charts in 26 countries around the world, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and New Zealand, while also reaching number two in Australia, and number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Amanda Ava Koci was born on February 16, 1994, in the city of Milwaukee, in the state of Wisconsin in the United States. Her parents (Andrea Nato Koci), Albanians, fled their home country to France in 1990, where they lived for a year, and soon after obtained passports to the USA, where they moved and currently live. Despite being born in Wisconsin, Amanda grew up in Virginia. In 2004, when she was just 10 years old, she started writing her own songs, with her first musical performance being at a place called The NorVa, in Virginia, where she grew up. The singer began her career as a teenager, composing lyrics and doing covers, singing at small events, promoting her work on the Internet. One of her biggest and most notable influences is the American singer Lady Gaga, who Ava refers to as a "legend", as well as Mariah Carey (who she spent hours listening to), Madonna, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston and Gwen Stefani, who are certainly other great musical influences on the young singer. In 2008, at the age of 14, after winning several local singing competitions, Ava realized her potential and how she could become great. Her mother, a former opera singer, said, "There's nothing here for you." So, her family soon moved to the city of Los Angeles, California, with the aim of realizing Max's dream of building a musical career. In 2008, she released her first EP entitled "Amanda Kay", it contained a total of 6 tracks, which is currently deleted. There were difficulties and her stay in Los Angeles lasted only a year. Ava moved to South Carolina and in 2011, at just 17 years old, she returned to the city of Los Angeles, moving there permanently. At first, for a few years, Max didn't achieve much, and things didn't turn out as she and her family had previously imagined. Only when seen singing at a birthday party by producer Cirkut did the girl receive due attention. The two soon became friends, began a romantic relationship and began releasing demos on SoundCloud, which caught the attention of her current record label, Atlantic Records, with which she signed a contract in 2017.

  20. During Microsoft’s Surface Event, the tech giant revealed a ton of new features and updates. One of the most interesting and possibly biggest was the Copilot all-in-one AI assistant, which is coming to Windows 11 on September 26, 2023. Microsoft Copilot is a more general version of 365 Copilot that uses AI to help users with any Windows 11 programs including po[CENSORED]r programs like Paint, Snipping Tool, Photos, and more. And now we have even more information about the standalone app, which just might be the most important update to Windows OS yet. A new blog post from Yusuf Mehdi, CVP & Consumer Chief Marketing Officer, explains how Copilot works with a multitude of Windows programs. For instance, the Paint Cocreator app (which will be available to Windows Insiders starting September 26) allows users to input a text prompt, select a style, and generate a unique image, which can then be further modified by using the new layers feature for Paint, or by simply drawing on top of the generated image. Microsoft Clipchamp, meanwhile, is a new companion AI tool for video editing with the use of enhanced AI tools like Auto Compose. By answering a few questions on the type of video you're developing, Clipchamp will provide recommended scenes, edits, and a narrative for you based on your input and creative assets. Then you can upload the video to, for instance, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or LinkedIn as well as to OneDrive or Google Drive. Snipping Tool also received several new upgrades. You can now capture sound using audio and mic support along with visuals, by simply pressing Win + Shift + R or Print Screen to activate. Two new text actions, text extraction and redaction, were also added. Text extraction is used to scan content from an online article, a video call, or any other source and then copy it text directly into other documents like Word or PowerPoint. Text redaction is a safety feature that completely blacks out any text you don’t want to show, like an email address within your screenshots or a category of information. Photos app has been upgraded as well with a new feature called Background blur that offers a way to enhance image resolution and apply blur effects. Enhanced search capabilities make it easier to find photos saved in OneDrive by typing in keywords related to objects, locations, or dates. There’s also a new slideshow feature that organizes photos into a presentation to share with family and friends. Voice also has gotten a boost and now works in more places including during the log-in process. You can now dictate complex and nonstandard words through the new spelling experience, and the corrections functionality will fix words that were recognized incorrectly. Narrator supports even more languages including Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and English (UK, India). The Passkeys tool creates a unique, unguessable credential and allows you to sign in using your face, fingerprint, or device PIN. It will now be integrated into Windows OS and will work on multiple browsers including Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and more. Adaptive Dimming is another new feature that allows users to conserve energy. If your PC presence sensor detects you are no longer paying attention, it will slowly dim your screen and save energy. It can also serve as an alert to refocus if your attention has been wandering. John Cable, Microsoft’s, VP, Program Management, Windows Servicing & Delivery, released his own blog post which outlines how to access all these new features and updates. Windows 11 devices will gradually get access to these updates over the next few weeks. Anyone with Windows 11, version 22H2 running on their device can get access to these tools as soon as they're ready by going to Settings > Windows Update and turning on ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available.’ All of these Copilot updates are expected to be broadly available in the November 2023 security update release. The Windows 11 23H2 update, meanwhile will not be dropping next week but in Q4 2023, which is October at the earliest.
  21. MSI has quietly introduced its new Ventus Essential series of graphics cards that will complement the company's regular Ventus family of boards (as noticed by @momomo_us). The new Ventus Essential cards will offer almost exactly the same specifications as normal Ventus add-in-boards, but will likely have a different bill-of-materials (BOM), which will make MSI's costs slightly lower. MSI's Ventus Essential lineup currently consists of the GeForce RTX 4070, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, and GeForce RTX 4090, which rank among the best graphics cards. All boards have the same clocks and cooling systems as standard Ventus cards, but Ventus Essential features two DisplayPort and two HDMI outputs, whereas regular Ventus boards have three DisplayPort and one HDMI output. Essential obviously points to something basic, but this may not be the case. "It has slight structural improvements over Ventus but mostly the same design/specs," wrote Hassan Mujtaba of WccfTech. Note that MSI does not officially disclose any differences between its Ventus and Ventus Essential graphics boards, so let us try to speculate a little. The display outputs are an interesting change. Right now, DisplayPort on RTX 40-series cards remains on the DP1.4a spec, which has a maximum data rate of 25.92 Gbps using 8b/10b encoding. HDMI 2.1 meanwhile offers up to 42 Gbps data rates using 16b/18b encoding. That's 62% more bandwidth, which means HDMI 2.1 can output up to 8K 120 Hz using DSC (Display Stream Compression), while DP1.4a tops out at around 8K 72 Hz using DSC. But HDMI typically costs more for licensing than DisplayPort, which makes this particular change a bit odd. Besides the video ports, modern graphics cards are highly complex devices that use hundreds of components. Custom graphics cards, such as MSI's Ventus series, tend to slightly change the bill-of-materials over their lifetimes because some components may get cheaper and others may disappear from the market. But it looks like MSI wants to concurrently offer Ventus and Ventus Essential parts, possibly with slightly different bundles and slightly different BOMs. Such an approach allows MSI to be flexible with its costs and offer its GeForce RTX 40-series products at more competitive prices. Of course, it remains to be seen whether these Ventus Essential boards will be significantly cheaper than non-Essential Ventus cardsbut the key point is that with more SKUs the company will be able to pick the right series and produce it if it finds it more suitable.
