When you use your real email address while shopping for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals online, hundreds if not thousands of third parties will then have access to it which is why Mozilla has launched a new free service to provide users with email aliases instead. Firefox Relay (formerly known as Firefox Private Relay) is a privacy-first and free product that hides your real email address to help further protect your identity online. By pointing your browser to relay.firefox.com and configuring the service, you'll get five email aliases that you can use whenever you sign-up for an online account. Mozilla has designed Firefox Relay to send and forward incoming emails from your alias email addresses to your primary email address and the company doesn't' read or keep any of the content in your messages. All email messages are also deleted from its servers after they've been sent and delivered to users. In addition to providing users with five free email aliases and up to 150kb attachments, Mozilla has even added labels to Firefox Relay that can be used to add information like an account name or a description so users know which sites they are using a particular alias for. These labels can also be synced across devices so you can keep track of your alias email address on your smartphone as well as on your computer. Firefox Relay Premium To get started using Firefox Relay, you'll first have to head to relay.firefox.com and sign in with your Firefox Account or create one if you don't have one yet. From here, you can generate up to five free random email aliases to use when signing up for new online accounts. Those that want even more email aliases can sign up for Firefox Relay Premium which Mozilla decided to offer after receiving feedback from users during the service's beta testing phase. The premium version of the service provides users with one subdomain from which they can create unlimited email aliases. Firefox Relay Premium also includes other features such as a summary dashboard of a user's email aliases, the option to use their email aliases to reply to emails directly and customer support though a convenient contact form. To commemorate the official launch of Firefox Relay, Mozilla is running a promotion where users in Canada, the US, the UK, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland can get Firefox Relay Premium for the low introductory price of just $0.99 a month. Nvidia made a bevy of announcements this morning, including the new Nvidia ICAT tool for comparing image quality. Nvidia also introduced version 2.3 of its DLSS upscaling technology. The updated DLSS 2.3 is already being integrated into more than 15 released games, with Cyberpunk 2077 and Rise of the Tomb Raider being the first titles to receive a patch update today. According to a press release from Nvidia, DLSS 2.3 “makes even smarter use of motion vectors to improve object detail in motion, particle reconstruction, ghosting, and temporal stability.” Titles that will support the new version of DLSS include: Baldur’s Gate 3, Bright Memory: Infinite, Crysis 2 Remastered, Crysis 3 Remastered, Deathloop, DOOM Eternal, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Sword & Fairy 7, and Farming Simulator 22, which is slated to launch November 22. Nvidia also announced a few titles that will now support its DLSS upscaling this November, thanks to its easy-to-implement plugins for Unreal Engine and native support in Unity. Assetto Corsa Competizione, Battlefield 2042, Myth of Empires, Bright Memory: Infinite, Elder Scrolls Online, Hot Wheels Unleashed, and Jurassic World Evolution 2 will all adopt DLSS. Titles like AWAY: The Survival and Myth of Empires, releasing on November 17 and 18, respectively, will also support DLSS upon release. Although not all of these games will officially support the new version of DLSS, it is possible to swap between different versions of DLSS, including the newest version, if a title already supports the feature. Results may not always work when doing a "manual upgrade" of DLSS, but so far we've had good luck. These newly announced titles are now part of Nvidia’s growing library of 130-plus games that support its DLSS technology. This is an edge the company’s DLSS has had over AMD’s FSR upscaling offering since the beginning of its battle for supremacy within the gaming space. The latest version of DLSS comes alongside a new Game Ready Driver and the aforementioned ICAT, which provides users a simple way to compare the quality between two images. All of these updates are publicly available starting today.

Microsoft has changed Windows 11 in a recently unleashed preview build, blocking a workaround that was ensuring that some links which were being opened in Edge were presented in the user’s default browser instead (as they should be, really). As you’re likely aware, there are instances in Microsoft’s desktop OS where even if you’re running with Chrome, Firefox or another alternative as your default app for browsing, links will still be opened in Edge now and then, when clicking them in certain Microsoft apps. This is due to the use of a proprietary Microsoft Edge protocol heading up the links, namely ‘microsoft-edge://’ (which forces opening in Edge) rather than the usual ‘https://’. An obvious example that springs to mind is the ‘News and interests’ widget on the taskbar, which presents various news, sports, weather and other articles, all of which will open in Edge no matter what your default setting is for the web browser in Windows. This is where third-party apps like EdgeDeflector from Daniel Aleksandersen come in, because at the moment, they can take these ‘microsoft-edge://’ links and automatically switch them to normal ones (‘https://’) that will open in your specified default browser. However, as Aleksandersen points out in a post on his Ctrl.Blog, with Windows 11 preview build 22494 (released at the start of November) Microsoft has changed things so that it’s impossible for anything but Microsoft Edge to be set as the protocol handler for ‘microsoft-edge://’ links. In short, these links cannot be redirected at all as of this build. This also means that browsers like Firefox or Brave, which were implementing their own versions of this kind of protocol redirection, will be unable to do so, leaving Edge as the only route for opening these links from Microsoft’s own apps and services. Analysis: On the Edge of annoyance (once again)? Clearly, this is Microsoft throwing its weight around to ensure that Edge keeps on popping up for those using its own apps or features like News and interests – and a less than subtle way of reminding people that Edge exists, and that they should consider switching (various popups do that regularly for Windows users, as we’ve seen in the past – this kind of behavior is nothing new). There’s no reason to make this change aside from furthering the reach of Edge, of course. And it also leads to the bizarre situation where even if you banish Edge from your system completely, these links will still try to open in a non-existent browser. Aleksandersen points out: “Windows will insist you use Microsoft Edge to a fault even if you brutalize your Windows installation and purge all traces of Microsoft Edge. Windows will open an empty UWP window and show an error message instead of letting you use your preferred web browser.” Hopefully, this new draconian measure is something Microsoft will reconsider, but given past history, we wouldn’t bank on it. Perhaps what’s the real shame is that Edge actually stands perfectly well on its own as a good product, and should be left to make a name for itself over time on those grounds. These kind of measures – and various popups or increased use of ads – are only likely to interfere negatively with the browser’s potential adoption in the end. Microsoft knows full well the danger of pushing too hard with its products – just remember the debacle around encouraging users to take up the offer of a free upgrade to Windows 10 – so let’s hope for the best in terms of browser freedom in Windows. Bear in mind at this point, this is just a change which is in testing (so Windows Insiders, make your feelings known if they’re strong ones).

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have received a fix for a ghost calling bug that came into notice earlier this month. The issue was causing Google Assistant to make random phone calls on the new Pixel phones. Google has fixed the bug on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro by issuing an update to the preloaded Google app. The new update comes just days after Google added heart-rate tracking to the Pixel 6 series through the Google Fit app. A Pixel Community Manager has confirmed the fix for the ghost calling bug. It has been rolled out through the latest Google app (version 12.43.18 and later) that is available for download through Google Play. You can also get the updated Google app by sideloading its APK file that is available through APKMirror. The ghost calling bug started to impact some Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users shortly after the launch of the new phones. Some users reported incidents of random calls to their contacts even when their Pixel phones weren't in use. Google Assistant was found to be the reason for making ghost calls — due to mishearing sounds that trigger the hotword ‘Hey Google' followed by the command to make calls to phone contacts. Some of the affected users noted that the issue could be manually fixed by disabling the ‘Assistant responses on lock screen' feature. That, though, makes Google Assistant unresponsive unless the phone is unlocked. Last week, Google started rolling out heart rate and respiratory tracking features through the Google Fit app. Both these features are already available on the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a. Is JioPhone Next the 4G phone for everyone that Reliance promises? We discuss this on Orbital, the Gadgets 360 podcast. Orbital is available on Spotify, Gaana, JioSaavn, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts.

Touted as the upcoming Ryzen 5 5600X killer, Intel's Core i5-12400F (via momomo_us) is available for puchase on eBay for $322.88. If you rather have the integrated graphics, the Core i5-12400 is also up for sale at $364.77. With Alder Lake, Intel decided to push the K-series processors first, saving the more pocket-friendly SKUs for a later date. During the announcement, the chipmaker confirmed that it was shipping up to 28 more Alder Lake SKUs to OEMs for prebuilt systems that are slated to debut early 2022. Intel didn't commit to a specific date, but many believe that the non-K processors could arrive as early as January. It would seem that a few of the unreleased Alder Lake chips may have gotten lost in the process. Affari Temporanei, an Italian retailer and also the eBay seller, has put the Core i5-12400 and Core i5-12400F processors up on eBay. The merchant marked the hybrid parts as OEM chips, but didn't confirm whether they're engineering samples (ES) or not. Affari Temporanei also listed the Core i5-12400 and Core i5-12400F on its online shop with similar pricing to the eBay listings. Apparently, there's only one unit each. Interested consumers from the U.S. would probably want to purchase through eBay since that's the only plaform where Affari Temporanei offers worldwide shipping. Obviously, it's a big risk since these are alleged OEM chips so they don't come with standard warranties. Since the Core i5-12600K retails for $299.99, you are definitely paying a huge markup just to get the chips before everyone else. Core i5-12400F, Core i5-12400 Specifications* The Core i5-12400F and Core i5-12400 made their first appearance at a Canadian retailer a few days ago. If the information is accurate, these are hexa-core chips without the small Gracemont cores. That means they sport six Golden Cove cores with Hyper-Threading. The processors could feature a boost clock up to 4.4 GHz. Affari Temporanei stated a 2.5 GHz clock speed, which is likely the base frequency. There are two specifications that we can be certain of. Intel has already revealed the inner workings of Alder Lake so we know the Core i5 models come equipped with 18MB of L3 cache. The model names tell us that the Core i5-12400F and Core i5-12400 have a 65W PBP (Processor Base Power). However, the MTP (Maximum Turbo Power) rating is unknown. For comparison, the Core i5-12600K sports a 150W MTP so we can state with certainty that the Core i5-12400F and Core i5-12400 will have lower MTP values. Both the Core i5-12400F and Core i5-12400 have boasted strong performance in preliminary benchmarks. We'll have to put them through their paces, but from what we've seen so far, they are poised to be the new budget gaming kings.

Google is reportedly bringing heart rate tracking and respiratory tracking features on the Pixel 6 via the Google Fit app. These features were available on Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a for a while, and now Pixel 6 owners can reportedly take advantage of them too. It is said to be out of “early access” phase, meaning a broad rollout is underway. Separately, few Pixel 6 users are reporting the removal of the Magic Eraser tool after the latest Google Photos update. Again, this seems to have affected only a few users as the update rollout has been stopped. 9to5Google reports that Google Pixel 6 units are now getting heart rate and respiratory tracking features via the Google Fit app. The app uses the phone's camera to measure heart rate and respiratory rate. Google reportedly warns that this feature is “not for medical use” and that it is “being fine-tuned and may be removed.” The report adds that while testing the heart rate tracking feature, its results were accurate and matched that of a Fitbit tracker and a Pixel 5 in a “well-lit area.” However, the reading was roughly off by 30 beats per minute in a darker room. On Google Fit, Pixel 6 users can check if they've received the feature by going to Browse > Vitals. The two cards will appear at the bottom of the Home tab. In addition, Some Pixel 6 users are reporting that the Magic Eraser tool was removed after the latest Google Photos app update. This feature lets users remove unwanted objects from photos. However, according to Android Central, the Google Photos app version 5.67 has removed the useful feature for several Pixel 6 users. The rollout of this update has reportedly been stopped and those who haven't updated their Google Photos app can still use the Magic Eraser tool on their Pixel 6. Google spokesperson Alex Moriconi told The Verge that the company has “identified an issue early in the rollout of [its] latest Photos update and are providing a fix shortly.”

Valve held its Steam Deck Development Live Stream today where it revealed the inner workings of the Steam Deck. The company also shared more information on the custom SoC that AMD has cooked up to power the handheld gaming PC. It should be common knowledge by now that AMD's Van Gogh APUs would combine the chipmaker's Zen 2 cores with RDNA 2 graphics. While some have hoped for an APU with Zen 3, that combination won't happen until next year when Rembrandt comes out. While we've always referred to the 7nm chips as Van Gogh, the specific SKU that Valve's putting inside the Steam Deck carries the "Aerith" codename. It's an SoC that AMD has built from the ground up to offer a steady performance during prolonged sessions, whether the Steam Deck is plugged in or not. Aerith wields four cores and eight threads with clock speeds between 2.4 GHz and 3.5 GHz. We learned from the live stream that instead of shooting for high boost clocks, Valve focused more on offering consistent clocks. Even with its low clock speeds, Aerith shouldn't be frowned upon. The Zen 2 SoC delivers a peak FP32 (single-precision) performance up to 448 GFLOPs. It's not the most meaningful way to measure a processor's performance, but it was the only data that Valve provided. If you're looking for a comparison, Aerith should perform slightly slower than a Ryzen 3 Pro 4450U (473.6 GFLOPs), which is also a quad-core, eight-thread Zen 2 chip at 15W. Aerith has a TDP that spans between 4W and 15W. However, Valve confirmed that there isn't a hard thermal limit on Aerith, and the company urges game developers to implement framerate limiters. Valve plans to enforce a framerate limiter in the near future in case developers don't put one inside their titles. The reason for not crippling Aerith from a thermal standpoint is that Valve's intentions were to have Aerith offer the same level of performance regardless of whether the device is in handheld or docked mode. In certain scenarios, such as when gaming outside on a hot day, the Steam Deck may cap the device's charge rates, download speeds, or SSD bandwidth to maintain the GPU performance. On the graphics side, there are eight RDNA 2 compute units (CUs) that accompany the four Zen 2 cores. The CUs clock in between 1 GHz to 1.6 GHz. This is the same RDNA 2 engine that's found on AMD's latest Radeon graphics cards and comes with support for the same featureset, such as FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and DirectX 12 Ultimate. On paper, the RDNA 2 unit pumps out up to 1.6 TFLOPs of FP32 performance. The performance is comparable to that of a GeForce MX450 (1.67 TFLOPs). Don't let the reference fool you, however, as early benchmarks have shown the Steam Deck hitting 60 FPS in many modern games with sensible graphics settings. Valve paired Aerith with 16GB of LPDDR5 memory with 1GB of VRAM. Aerith is the first AMD mobile processor to leverage LPDDR5 memory. According to Valve, modern games are fine with 8GB or 12GB of memory, so the choice to go up to 16GB allows a bit of future-proofing on the Steam Deck. Furthermore, LPDDR5 memory is a great choice since AMD's APUs simply love bandwidth. That won't be an issue on the Steam Deck as LPDDR5 arrives bearing higher bandwidth, up to 88 GBps on Valve's upcoming handheld gaming PC. The Steam Deck was originally scheduled to debut in December. However, the global supply chain issues have forced Valve to push it to a February 2022 release.

Musician Name: Ashley Nicolette Frangipane Birthday / Location: September 29, 1994 (age 27) Edison, New Jersey,Los Angeles, California Main instrument: Pop Electro Pop Musician Picture: Musician Awards & Nominations:- Best Performance: - Other Information: Ashley Nicolette Frangipane (Edison, September 29, 1994), better known artistically as Halsey ( /ˈhɔːl.zi/),[2] is an American singer-songwriter. In early 2014, she signed her first contract, with the record label Astralwerks, and at the end of the same year Halsey released her debut EP, entitled Room 93. In August 2015, she released her first album, Badlands, which included two tracks from Room 93: "Ghost" and "Hurricane". The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Four singles were released from the album, all of which achieved moderate commercial success. Also in 2015, Halsey featured on the track ''The Feeling'' from Justin Bieber's Purpose album. Justin Bieber and singer Halsey, both 26, performed together during The Today Show, on NBC, on Wednesday afternoon (18), in New York. While singing the hit The Feeling, which features the artist, they exchanged affection and even starred in a near kiss in front of the audience and on camera. It was the duo's first performance with the song, which is on Bieber's fourth album Purpose. In July 2016, the American duo The Chainsmokers, together with Halsey, released the single "Closer", which turned out to be a huge success worldwide. In June 2017, Halsey released her second studio album, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. The album consists of more "radio friendly" songs, different from their previous album. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album was preceded by the release of "Now or Never", which became Halsey's first entry as a lead artist in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. In August 2017, it was Hopeless Fountain Kingdom's second single released "Bad at Love", which turned out to be Halsey's first song as a lead artist to break into the top 10 of the same hit chart. In September 2017, she boarded the Hopeless Fountain Kingdom World Tour to promote the album. In October 2018, Halsey released her most successful lead single to date, "Without Me", which by January 2019 had already entered the top 10 in several countries, having reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 United States, and number 2 in Canada and Australia, as well as number 3 in the United Kingdom and Ireland. "Without Me" marked the second time Halsey has reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after "Closer" and the first time she has achieved such a feat other than as a guest artist. Halsey engages in activism, in areas such as suicide prevention awareness and advocacy for victims of sexual assault. In January 2021, Halsey announced that she was pregnant with her first child with her boyfriend, screenwriter Alev Aydin. On the 19th of July, Halsey confirmed that her son Ender had been born 5 days earlier, on the 14th of July.
