Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Getting Another Update This November Another content update is coming for the Switch life sim in late November, and it will add Thanksgiving and Christmas events to the game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons' 1.5 fall update is now live, adding the Halloween event and other new content to the game, but there's still more on the way this season. Nintendo has confirmed that another Animal Crossing update is slated to arrive in late November, and it looks like it'll add two more big seasonal events. While Nintendo hasn't shared any further details about the November update just yet, the announcement was accompanied by images of Franklin the turkey and Jingle the reindeer. The former hosts the series' Harvest Festival (Thanksgiving) event, while the latter appears during Toy Day (Christmas), so it looks like both holidays are coming as part of the November update. Nintendo hasn't yet explained how the Harvest Festival or Toy Day events will work in New Horizons, but in the series' previous installment, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Franklin would send you around to other villagers to gather ingredients for dishes he's preparing. Toy Day was even more involved. All December, you would need to speak to villagers and make note of what they're hoping to receive on Toy Day. Then, on December 24, you would need to dress as Santa and deliver the right presents to each villager. In the meantime, this week's update adds Halloween, along with related DIY recipes, furniture, and other items. All October long, you'll be able to purchase candy at Nook's Cranny, as well as pumpkin starts that you can plant and grow. These pumpkins can then be used to craft Halloween-themed decorations and other items from the new DIY recipes. Beyond that, this week's update also makes it much easier to revisit dreams. Dream islands that you've previously visited will appear as part of a list, so you'll no longer need to re-enter their Dream Address each time you want to return. Nintendo will also roll out an update for the NookLink function in early October that will let you use reactions right from the smartphone app. In addition to the next update, Animal Crossing Amiibo cards are also returning this November. Series 1 through 4 of the Amiibo cards will be available again at retailers. Each pack will cost $6 USD and includes six cards. You can use these cards to invite villagers to live on your island or take photos of them in the game's Photopia mode. The long sold-out Animal Crossing-edition Switch console is also returning to select stores.

Hotspot Shield VPN client software has a serious security vulnerability Hotspot Shield users should update their VPN software ASAP A new vulnerability has been discovered in Hotspot Shield's Windows VPN client that could allow for privilege escalation if exploited by an attacker. The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2020-17365, is the result of improper directory permissions in versions 10.3.0 and earlier of the company's VPN client for Windows. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to corrupt system files by creating a specially crafted symbolic link to a critical file on a user's system and overwrite it with privileges of the application. We've put together a list of the best antivirus software around Secure your entire network with one of the best VPN routers We've also highlighted the best Windows 10 VPN Privilege escalation vulnerability In a security update page on its site, Hotspot Shield's parent company Pango explained that a vulnerability was initially reported in the VPN company's 10.0.1 Windows client. The Hotspot Shield Service has system level privileges and writes log files into the folder with local user permissions. As a result of this, removing the folder and abusing NTFS junctions can allow an unprivileged user to write to any file on the file system with SYSTEM privileges. TechRadar Pro has reached out to both Hotspot Shield and Pango regarding this vulnerability but we've yet to hear back at the time of writing. In the meantime though, all Hotspot Shield users using the VPN service on Windows should update their software to the latest version to avoid falling victim to any potential attacks. Version 10.6.0 of Hotspot Shield's Windows client is currently available to download on the company's site and based on the security advisory, this and any other versions above 10.3.0 are not affected by this vulnerability.

Asus ZenBook Flip S UX371 Review: Premium Look and Feel In search of… a headphone jack Intel’s 11th Gen “Tiger Lake” processors are here, and with them a series of new laptop designs. The first crossing through our labs is the Asus ZenBook Flip S UX371 ($1,449), a sleek, attention-grabbing convertible with the new Core i7-1165G7. It packs a 13.3-inch, 4K OLED touchscreen and offers solid battery life in spite of it. Thunderbolt 4 shows up too, but Asus made the strange choice to eliminate a headphone jack, instead bundling a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box. If you’re one to use Bluetooth headphones, the big question will be this: Does the ZenBook Flip S squeeze enough performance out of the i7-1165G7 to make it the best ultrabook for you? Design of the Asus ZenBook Flip S UX371 I really can’t get over just how pretty the ZenBook Flip S is. It’s not a drastic change to the ZenBook aesthetic, but it’s sleek and honestly, I can’t stop looking at it. The lid is black with Asus’s signature concentric circles, which attract light just so. Asus’ logo is in a copper accent, and there’s more of that around the edges of the device. The 13.3-inch display is surrounded by a bezel thicker than that on the Dell XPS 13, and I wish Asus would trim it down on the bottom. But the attention to detail continues on the keyboard deck, which is black and built solid, with white backlighting shinking through the keyboard keys. The touchpad is nice and wide, though it definitely breaks the aesthetic when you turn on the backlit touch-based number pad built into it. There’s a big, copper-colored stripe under the display, but you only truly see it when you pull back the display on the 360-degree hinges. It’s a striking contrast, though how often will you be looking at the keyboard in tablet or tent mode? My only true quibble with the design is the port selection. At first glance, it seems fine. There’s an HDMI port and a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left side, with a full USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port on the right side. But there’s no headphone jack. And while Bluetooth headphones are becoming more commonplace, there’s definitely room for one here. Instead, Asus includes a USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone dongle in the box. Even laptops, now, are part of living the #donglelife. At just 12 x 8.3 x 0.6 inches and 2.7 pounds, the ZenBook Flip S is petite. The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is even smaller at 11.7 x 8.2 x 0.5 inches, but a heavier 2.9 pounds. The HP Spectre x360 is 12.1 x 7.7 x 0.7 inches at 2.7 pounds, and the Acer Swift 3, a standard clamshell, is 2.7 pounds and 1.7 x 8.6 x 0.6 inches.

Pokemon Sword And Shield: Everything We Know About The Crown Tundra DLC Pokemon Sword and Shield's second DLC expansion arrives next month; here are all the major details we know about The Crown Tundra. Pokemon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor DLC arrived back in June, but there's still one more expansion on the way for the Switch Pokemon games this year. The Crown Tundra, the second part of Sword and Shield's Expansion Pass, is coming in October, and it introduces another area to explore, new and returning Pokemon to catch, and more. Like Isle of Armor, The Crown Tundra is a sizable chunk of add-on content featuring its own storyline, cast of characters, and Pokedex to complete, as well as new gameplay modes, items, and other additions. To help get you up to speed on the DLC, we've rounded up everything you need to know about Sword and Shield's Crown Tundra expansion below. Expansion Pass Price The Crown Tundra is included in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass alongside the games' previous DLC, The Isle of Armor. The Expansion Pass costs $30 USD / £27. The expansions cannot be purchased individually, and each version of the game requires its own corresponding Expansion Pass to access the DLC. If you've yet to pick up the base games or the DLC, Nintendo is releasing new editions of Pokemon Sword and Shield on November 6 that bundle in their respective Expansion Pass. Purchase BonusPlayers who purchase a Sword Expansion Pass or Shield Expansion Pass will receive a couple of bonus clothing items for their in-game character: an exclusive Pikachu uniform and an Eevee uniform. Those who pick up one of the newly announced Expansion Pass bundles will get an additional 100 Poke Balls as bonus on top of that. Confirmed Returning Pokemon Much like The Isle of Armor, The Crown Tundra is introducing a variety of old Pokemon to the Gen 8 Pokedex. These monsters are being added as free updates, so you don't need to own the Expansion Pass to get them; you'll be able to receive the Pokemon through trades or import them via Pokemon Home even if you don't pick up the DLC. However, the returning Pokemon can only be encountered in the wild if you own the Expansion Pass.

Crucial P5 M.2 NVMe SSD Review: Premium Design Runs Hot (Updated) With robust hardware and security, Crucial’s P5 is engineered for gamers and professional workflows. While we have been awaiting the arrival of a high-end NVMe SSD from Crucial for a few years, the company only teased us with the entry-level P1 last year. It isn’t until halfway through 2020 that Crucial’s first high-end NVMe SSD, the P5, hit the market. But now that the P5 is out, it’s about time we put it through its paces. With a very robust design, it can dish out impressive performance numbers on paper, but it isn’t quite the best SSD going for the price. Crucial’s P5 has been a long time coming and check’s almost all the boxes for a high-end enthusiast-class PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD today. With Micron’s third-generation, 96L TLC NAND flash and brand new proprietary six-core NVMe controller, Crucial’s P5 comes with some serious hardware that not only helps it hit some great performance numbers, but it also protects the stored data with full hardware-based encryption. Not only does it perform well, but it also has the looks to match. Crucial designed the P5 with a blacked-out aesthetics so that it will blend into any build for gamers and professionals alike. Crucial’s P5 comes in capacities of 250GB up to 2TB, and current street prices range from $0.15-$0.22 per GB. Crucial says the P5 delivers sequential performance of up to 3.4 /3 GBps read/write as well as up to 430,000 / 500,000 random read/write IOPS when hammered to the max. All capacities can hit the read spec, but write performance degrades as capacity decreases. At the 500GB capacity point, write performance is rated for up to 1.4 GBps. The P5 comes backed by a five-year limited warranty, or up to the rated write endurance per capacity. Endurance shouldn’t be much of a concern because the P5 has a half-dozen layers of adaptation, retry, and correction in its multistep data integrity algorithms, as well as LDPC Error Correction Code (ECC). Similar to WD’s approach, the stronger and less efficient correction capabilities are typically used for high bit-error pages as the SSD reaches its end of life, thus optimizing for performance and efficiency during its full lifespan. For those needing assurance on write life, these algorithms ensure that the Crucial P5 sustains up to 150TB of writes per 250GB of capacity, which is a solid 1.2 PB of writes for the 2TB model. Additionally, Crucial also overprovisioned the P5, setting aside 9% of the overall NAND capacity for controller use, including RAIN (Redundant Array of Independent NAND), which dedicates some of the NAND strictly to parity rather than user addressable space. The parity ratio at 2TB is 128:1, and this ratio halves as capacity halves. The drive also features Integrated Power Loss Immunity, but the SLC caching helps in many cases, too. The Dynamic Write Acceleration (SLC cache) works a little bit differently than most SLC caches we have come across in the past – Crucial built some new tech into the P5. Most Phison-based SSDs recover their SLC cache quickly, so it acts more like a buffer. Micron’s P5, on the other hand, retains parts of both OS and user data in portions of the cache for read requests. It also adjusts in size not only based on the amount of capacity used, but also based on the workload so it can optimize write amplification and performance. Additionally, during testing, we saw that it can simply remap its cache on the fly to ensure fairly consistent performance after hammering it time and time again, which is quite clever. We couldn’t get the P5 to complete a secure erase with both our motherboard’s UEFI or the 2018 version of Parted Magic’s secure erase tool, at least at first. However, after downloading the latest 2020 version of Parted Magic, we successfully secure erase the P5 without fail. Trim and S.M.A.R.T. data reporting functioned as expected, too. Crucial’s P5 comes with AES 256-bit hardware encryption supporting the TCG Opal 2.0 and IEEE 1667 feature set and is also configurable with Windows BitLocker since it is eDrive-compliant. Furthermore, Crucial’s P5 features NVMe Autonomous Power State Transition (APST) like most competing solutions for better efficiency and there is Adaptive Thermal Protection that is linked to the temperature sensors in the NAND components themselves rather than the controller. Adaptive Thermal Protection will throttle performance when the NAND exceeds 70 degrees Celsius. The drive will not shut down until it hits roughly 85 degrees.

Best blogging platforms of 2020 Great choices to publish your thoughts to the world The po[CENSORED]rity of blogging (which originally derives from ‘personal web log’) continues, whether for profit, or just to have a voice on the web, since over a decade ago when it first captured the internet as the ‘next big thing’. Some blogs are standalone sites, but others are a more personal section that fits into a larger, corporate web site. In order to blog, a blogging platform is required, which takes care of formatting the content in the form of text and images, and provides a framework for getting it onto a website. The blogging platform also makes it easier for a search engine to categorize the blog entries, and to be able to take advantage of marketing and advertising opportunities. So before you start cranking out posts, and welcoming your virtual visitors from around the world, you need to choose the best blogging platform to suit your needs. Check out these great options. 1. Blogger Ask any old-time blogger about what platform they started their blog with, and chances are they'll answer that it was Blogger. To this day, Google’s offering in the blogging space still retains several advantages, including that your existing Google account already means you have a Blogger account. A broke startup blog will appreciate that it is free to use, and it will even provide the blogspot.com domain name, as well as the option for a custom domain name. It is also one of the easier platforms to use, and provides a choice of templates that can be flexibly modified. As it is a Google offering, it easily integrates with other Google products, including Google Analytics that can provide information about your website’s visitors that should be used to help grow traffic. Also, your blog can be integrated with Google’s Adsense, that will analyze your content, and display relevant ads to monetize your blog, so you can pay for the coffee as you sit in Starbucks and blog into the night. With all that going for it, is there any reason not to use Blogger? Well, the problem is that as your blog grows, its simplicity means that you may outgrow Blogger at some point. In addition, it can be difficult to transition from Blogger to another platform. 2. WordPress WordPress is a po[CENSORED]r blogging platform which is used on a claimed 30% of web sites, that offers an excellent balance between ease of use, and more powerful options. They can handle all the details, and take care of the domain name, the security and the hosting for a one stop shopping option. WordPress offers hundreds of themes, with flexibility in fonts and options for a custom look. They also offer expert support, and credit card payments can be accepted via an available plugin. Pricing starts at the Personal plan for $4 (€3.6, £3.1) monthly billed annually, which removes all WordPress advertising. There is also a free tier available, which is suitable for a noncommercial blog as there is WordPress advertising and no way you can monetize it. 3. Jekyll The latest version of Jekyll (4.1) is a “simple, blog-aware, static site generator.” Content gets created in TXT files, which get placed into folders. Then you build your site via Liquid language templates. Jekyll then merges the content and the template together, and voila, a website is generated that can be uploaded to a server. For those that need a host, there is integration with Jekyll to host the website for free on GitHub. While there is a comprehensive ‘quick-start guide’ on the Jekyll website, it hardly offers the simplicity of some competing blogging platforms that can do this all from a web interface. However, the benefits that Jekyll offers are the advanced features, which include options for paginating posts, available plugins, excerpt rendering, templates, and community maintained themes. It also supports blog migration from other platforms. The plus here is that there is no cost to the platform, but the downside is that there is only community support, and the work takes place in the Ruby development environment, so many newbies will be put off. 4. Tumblr While some blogs are well developed, and blur the line between a blog, and a full fledged website, at the other end of things we have Tumblr. It seems to be doing something right as it claims a staggering 450+ million different blogs. It focuses on the more concise end of the spectrum, with an emphasis on shorter content, like just an image, or link, that can appear as more of an alternate social media platform. Content is definitely more short-form, with posts consisting of a variety of material, for example, pics, jokes, quips, Spotify tracks, and video (just remember that adult content is no longer welcome). Like a social media platform, you can also follow other blogs, and republish posts you like to your own blog. The pro is that Tumblr is quite simple to use, costs nothing, and is ideal for use on a mobile device. However, this is not ideal for a more developed blog, as the content remains in the Tumblr ecosystem, and there is no way to monetize it. 5. Typepad Typepad is a fully developed blogging platform, designed for the professional blogger. It offers a ton of flexibility, including the ability to publish from email, a web browser, or mobile. It also easily integrates with Google Analytics, and has its own affiliate plan. Typepad supports design customization with a Theme Builder for a custom look, and the option for creating your own custom template or modifying a theme with custom CSS. Typepad is also fully hosted, and has support available. After the initial 14-day trial, plans start at $8.95 (£8) per month for up to four blogs with unlimited storage.

2021 Yenko/SC Camaro now serves up 1050 hp SVE Specialty Vehicle Engineering, Inc. (SVE), the New-Jersey-based company formerly known as Street Legal Performance (SLP), has for 2021 managed to squeeze an additional 50 horsepower from the custom-built V-8 in its Yenko Stage II Camaro. SVE’s previous models put out a paltry 1000 horsepower, so if you want to keep up with some of the meanest pony cars on the market, the limited-edition 2021 model may just be the ultimate statement. Adding 50 more horses to your pony car is a big deal when making the move from, let’s say, 450-500 hp. With Yenko Camaros already in four-digit territory, is the 50 horsepower that noticeable? Maybe not, but why settle for good enough? When we asked SVE about the changes for 2021, its reasoning was simple (and convincing) enough, “We’re always on the lookout for more power,” said SVE Vice President David Hamburger. The team at SVE had customers that always want more, so they didn’t stop at the 1000-hp mark. Over the past year, they’ve developed an improved CNC cylinder head program and fortified the car’s fuel system to deliver enough high-test gasoline to feed its unique engine. The rest of the custom engine, from the camshaft to the crank, carries over from 2020. Each of the 50 limited-production Yenko/SC Stage II Camaros starts as a new 1SS or 2SS 1LE. That means it comes with Magnetic Ride Control, an electronic limited-slip differential, Recaro performance seats, and all of the built-in track cooling that’s standard on the 1LE. From there, SVE pulls the 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 and strips it down to the bare block. A forged rotating assembly ups the stroke to bring displacement to 416 cubic inches or 6.8 liters. Then the short-block is topped by CNC-ported LT4 heads that are built for the increased cylinder pressure of supercharging. Stainless-steel long-tube headers and high-flow catalytic converters replace the factory manifold to keep up with the increased exhaust volume. Finally, a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger tops the engine and is on display when the hood is popped, no engine cover necessary. In addition to the improved engine package, 2021 Yenko Camaros also receive a new wheel design and new badging inside and out to advertise their 1050 hp output. SVE is only building 50 Stage II Yenkos for 2021, and they’ve sold out each year since the Yenko package returned in 2016. If you’d like to get in on the action or feel that your 1000-hp 2020 model just isn’t doing it for you anymore, you can order one from your Chevrolet dealer. Deposits are $10,000 and pricing for the Yenko Stage II starts at $69,995 on top of a 1SS or 2SS Camaro 1LE.

Anime vs Cartoon Japanese anime is different from cartoons. While both are caricatures that may be animated, anime usually has visually distinct features for characters, and a more "limited animation" style for depicting movement. Comparison chart Anime versus Cartoon comparison chart Anim Cartoon current rating is 4.49/5 1 2 3 4 5 (2619 ratings) current rating is 3.66/5 1 2 3 4 5 (2452 ratings) Introduction (from Wikipedia) Anime (Japanese: アニメ?, [a.ni.me] are Japanese animated productions, and come in all formats, such as television series (such as Dragon Ball and Inuyasha, animated short films, and full-length feature films.) Abu Dhabi's Mubadala in advanced talks to invest up to $1 bn in Reliance Retail: Report NEW DELHI/DUBAI: Abu Dhabi state fund Mubadala Investment Co is in advanced talks to invest up to $1 billion in the retail division of India's Reliance Industries Ltd, two sources told Reuters, as investor interest in the Indian company surges. Reliance Retail is on a fund raising spree and has secured around $1.8 billion in the past few weeks from KKR & Co and Silver Lake Partners. Reliance, controlled by Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani, has approached investors, who collectively pumped more than $20 billion into its Jio Platforms digital business this year, to take stakes in its retail business, which has nearly 12,000 stores and sells everything from groceries and electronics to fashion and shoes. Mubadala invested around $1.2 billion in Jio Platforms and its executives have held extensive talks in recent weeks with Reliance for investing in its retail venture, several sources familiar with the talks said. While one source said Mubadala "is ready with" $1 billion for Reliance Retail and doing due diligence, a second source said the talks were at an advanced stage and said the investment could be anywhere between $500 million and $1 billion. A Reliance spokesman said the company cannot confirm or deny any transaction, adding: the “company evaluates various opportunities on an ongoing basis." Mubadala declined to comment. It is the second-biggest state investor in Abu Dhabi after Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, managing about $240 billion in assets. For Mubadala, any further investment into Reliance will come months after it said it was under-invested in Asia and planned to expand its portfolio in the region. STRONG INVESTOR INTEREST Reliance is likely to soon announce a few investments into its retail unit, and those will be from investors who recently invested in its digital arm, one of the sources aware of the matter said. While talks are ongoing with several investors, Reliance believes Facebook and Google, both of which invested in Reliance's digital business, are unlikely to put funds in its retail division due to lack of synergies, another source said. "Reliance wants the same set of investors ... but some new investors could come in," the source said. Japan's SoftBank Group had also expressed interest in investing in Reliance Retail, but the talks have not moved forward as the company was prioritising other investors with which it has struck recent deals, the source said. SoftBank did not respond to a request for comment. Ambani's push to seek investments in its retail business come as the oil-to-telecoms Indian conglomerate has been looking to expand its e-commerce operations to compete against Walmart's Flipkart and Amazon.com's Indian business. A separate source said Amazon and Reliance have also been in talks, but there was no certainty of a deal on an investment in Reliance Retail. "For Amazon, the issue is whether their own ambitions in India will collide with Reliance's," the source added. An Amazon spokeswoman said the company has no comment on speculation about what it may or may not do in the future. This story has been published from a wire agency feed without modifications to the text. Only the headline has been changed.
