  2. Rabat - Rabat's National Museum of Jewelry has attracted nearly 40,000 visitors in less than a week. The museum documents Morocco's cultural heritage while also protecting it from cultural appropriation. Morocco's Princess Lalla Hasnaa inaugurated the museum on January 7. “Morocco's national museum of jewelry makes a strong entry on the Moroccan museum scene,” reported Morocco’s news agency (MAP). The museum building had multiple renovations and now has a new design. “A renovation has restored the building to its former glory, while remaining true to the spirit of the place,” Morocco's National Foundation of Museums (FNM) said in its press release. The museum is located within the stunning Andalusian Gardens at Kasbah of the Oudayas. It features vibrant, colorful jewelry and caftans, both of which are important aspects of Moroccan cultural heritage. The museum also features King Mohammed VI’s personal collection of Amazigh jewelry. The foundation's description of the jewelry's design read: “Handcrafted with ancestral techniques, Moroccan jewelry is distinguished by its richness and diversity reflecting the regional and national cultural identity.” The museum is divided into five exhibition rooms; the first room is devoted to the history of jewelry and the manufacturing process. The second room is dedicated to the history of Moroccan attire, including the signature Moroccan caftan. The third room displays men’s jewelry while the fourth room is dedicated to Amazigh jewelry. The exhibition also put the spotlight on regional differences between the major urban jewelry production centers. To celebrate the museum’s reopening, Morocco's National Foundation of Museums allows free access to the museum, from January 9 to 23, 2023. The restoration project was carried out in collaboration with Rabat Amenagement, the Wilaya of Rabat, the Ministry of Youth and Culture, and Morocco's National Foundation of Museums. For The Jewelry And Caftans To Live, They Must Be Worn And Preserved’ In an interview with Morocco World News (MWN), Founder of the Oriental Fashion Show (OFS) Hind Joudar, emphasized the important role of museums in heritage preservation: “Museums are important institutions for displaying the material elements of Moroccan culture and its diversity,” she explained. Joudar stressed that caftans and jewelry have been and will always be a part of the Moroccan identity. “For the jewelry and the caftan to live on and remain a part of Moroccan heritage, they must be worn and, more importantly, preserved,” she said. The Moroccan fashion expert recalled the caftan exhibition held during the 17th session of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Rabat. She noted that the exhibition displayed the regional diversity of Moroccan caftans, including embroidery, weaving, ornamentation, and beadwork. During the event, Morocco and UNESCO signed an agreement to train experts from 12 African countries on how to protect world heritage sites and add new editions to the heritage list. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/01/353584/national-jewelry-museum-moroccos-cultural-heritage-lives-on

  3. Rabat - London-listed mining company Aterian announced on Monday that it had undertaken a review of the area under the Agdz license in Morocco’s Atlas Mountain regions. The survey identified a number of highly prospective zones for copper and silver mining. Following the positive results, Aterian announced that it had increased the current target area of exploration under the Agdz license. Commenting on the results of the geographical survey, Aterian Chairman Charles Bray said: “Agdz is an important asset in our portfolio of 15 copper-silver and base metal projects we recently acquired in Morocco which in turn is attracting good attention as a mining destination.” Bray added that Agdz is the “most advanced of the 15 projects” the company currently operates in the country. “We are doing the necessary work to progress our understanding of the site for drilling,” he said. “The geophysical survey data has generated several high-priority anomalies requiring additional fieldwork to further resolve these targets,” Bray added. Noting the potential of the area, Bray explained that the presence of multiple “historical copper workings at Agdz provides further encouragement,” describing the project as an “additional exciting exploration opportunity” for the company’s Moroccan portfolio. Aterian’s Chairman further announced that the fieldwork under the license has recently recommenced, adding that the “commencement of scout drilling based on these outcomes will provide further important geological and grade information shortly thereafter.” The company recently added Agdz to its portfolio comprising 15 prospective copper-silver and base metal projects in Morocco covering an area of 762 square kilometers. The company has a 100% interest in the project. Read Also: Alterian Announces Discovery of ‘High-Grade Copper, Silver’ in Morocco © Morocco World News. All Rights Reserved. 4. Rabat - The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has listed five players from Morocco’s national football team among its Men’s 2022 Team for the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Thanks to their outstanding skills and remarkable performance during the Qatar World Cup, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou, Achraf Hakimi, Romain Saiss, Azzedine Ounahi, and Sofyan Amrabat were featured in Africa’s “Best Eleven.” The mission of guarding the net of Africa’s 2022 team was given to none other than renowned Moroccan goalkeeper Bounou, who has caught the attention of football fans from across the world due to his iconic saves during the Qatar World Cup. With his stellar performance, Bounou has also ranked among IFFHS’ top ten goalkeepers for 2022, securing the third spot with a total of 55 points. Meanwhile, Africa’s typical team features Paris Saint Germain’s Hakimi and the Atlas Lions’ captain Saiss in the defense line. Both Atlas Lions were widely celebrated for their strong performance and defense skills at the global event. Read also: Fiorentina: Sofyan Amrabat Is Not For Sale Hakimi is notably remembered for the iconic panenka penalty kick he scored during Morocco’s round-of-16 game against Spain. Not only did Hakimi’s kick steal the show on the global stage, but it also secured Morocco its first-ever qualification to the quarter-finals. In addition, Moroccan midfielders Ounahi and Amrabat, who have been on the radars of several elite European clubs, have rightfully booked their spots among Africa’s men’s 2022 team. Amrabat has been a key part of Morocco’s fairytale run at the 2022 World Cup, as he asserted his dominance on the pitch and successfully mastered the task of assisting forwards to create scoring opportunities. 5. Ubisoft has been having a rough go of it lately. In addition to an ongoing company-wide toxic management reckoning, the publisher has spent the last year delaying and canceling multiple projects (seven in total have been canned, five of which hadn’t even been announced). What exactly is causing all this turmoil behind the scenes? Well, insider Tom Henderson, who has delivered accurate Ubisoft-related info multiple times in the past, has attempted to shine some light on the situation. Henderson spoke to five current and former Ubisoft employees, and according to them, the reason for the cancellations and delays was that the games simply weren’t measuring up when presented to playtesters. It seems one issue is Ubisoft’s fixation on the battle royale format, with one employee saying there were at least a dozen games in the genre in various states of development at one point. The publisher has also been struggling with post-COVID hybrid development and will likely return fully to in-office development within the next year. The dozen battle royale projects figure is a bit shocking, but it does make some sense. Ubisoft has specialized in open-world games and shooters, so of course they’d want to combine them. Still, the fact that so many BR projects were greenlit at the same time really speaks to a lack of focus and leadership at the company at the moment. That said, according to Henderson, the employees he talked to did have some optimism for the future. Apparently, Ubisoft has a lot of stuff in the pipeline, it’s just taking a long time to finish and polish everything. Ubisoft is slated to launch Skull and Bones, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora during fiscal year 2024 (which runs from April of this year, to the end of March 2024) and the latter two are expected to do well. Henderson also hints that a new entry in The Crew series is expected for FY2024. What do you think? Can Ubisoft right the ship? Of is a company that tries to make a dozen battle royales at once beyond hope? https://wccftech.com/ubisoft-dozen-battle-royale-games-in-development/

  6. NVIDIA is rumored to incorporate AI optimizations within its future graphics drivers which will release this year for enhanced GPU utilization amongst a list of things. NVIDIA Incorporating AI-Optimizations Within Its Graphics Drivers For Tensor Core 'RTX' GPUs Artificial intelligence, or AI, has become the popular buzzword for technological advancements, especially in discovering new scientific discoveries and medicines to software and PC components. It is very little surprising that PC components could lay the groundwork for more involvement in graphics, namely with NVIDIA's Game Ready Drivers. Please remember that this article is strictly a rumor and that no claims have been confirmed through NVIDIA. The NVIDIA Game Ready Drivers library has helped enhance performance and quality in hundreds of next-gen games and even some older titles (Quake RTX and Portal RTX), which has shown that NVIDIA is backing its claims made last year about their direction with artificial intelligence. In this aspect, AI could help with performance and other related instructions and tasks, allowing games to run more smoothly with less graphical interference, take some if not all of the load off the CPU, and process that information better or more. CapFrameX tweeted this morning about upcoming drivers that would launch this year, possibly sooner than expected, that would optimize the NVIDIA Game Ready Drivers with AI enhancements. Note that the Twitter leaker has posted this as a rumor and should be handled as a future possibility. Whether these enhancements will come through a separate suite or be added within the current RTX technologies such as DLSS which rely heavily on AI Tensor cores remains to be seen. NVIDIA did promise that they will be adding a range of improvements and deliver a major update to DLSS by the end of this quarter. AMD is also working to begin taking assistance from AI in its upcoming FSR 3 technology while their recent Ryzen 7040 'Phoenix' APUs leverage Xilinx-based AI technology for faster ML and DNN capabilities. This new driver advancement would utilize the AMD Radeon Super Resolution, which enhances specific latency enhancements and upscaling through the entire system, not just having the overhead specified to one section of the computer. NVIDIA has been at the forefront of AI innovation with the advent of its tensor core design and these cores are likely to play a crucial role if this news is indeed true. Again, since this is highly speculative, it is unknown how any of this would work and what hardware is needed. 7. Jan Hubicka, a SUSE compiler engineer, added more AMD Zen 4 code, specifically "znver4" CPU target tuning, to continue to prepare the upcoming GNU Compiler Collection (GCC 13) for release. GCC 13 sees additional and improved AMD Zen 4 CPU target tuning in the recent compiler update patch This continues with numerous patches added in 2022 for the new version release. It is anticipated that it will be better for AMD Zen 4's architecture compared to the support shown for Zen 3, which was mediocre at best. We will also see new processor ISA extensions used for the latest architecture, reports Michael Larabel, analyst, and Editor of the Linux hardware website Phoronix. Yesterday, Hubicka added the newest updates for GCC 13, which we have supplied the patch notes below that were posted to GNU Compiler Collection's Git page: new tunes for avx512 scater instructions. In micro-benchmarks, these seem consistent losses compared to open-coded come disable the use of gather for zen4 While these are a win for micro benchmarks (based on TSVC), an enabling gather is a loss for parest. So, for now, it seems safe to keep it off. disable pass to avoid FMA chains for znver4 since fmadd was optimized and does not seem to cause regressions. Larabel notes that GCC 13 and AMD's proprietary AOCC 4.0 compiler will be needed to test to see which is better "as a downstream of LLVM/Clang." AMD recently added the beginning enablement of the Zen 4 architecture into LLVM/Clang early last month, but it has not been touched since. The hope is that we will see more in the coming weeks. The Phoronix editor also mentions that "-march=znver4 can be used if wanting to cater the compiler's instructions and optimizations to the AMD Ryzen 7000 series and AMD EPYC 9004 series processors". At the same time, we are waiting for more updates to happen. Lately, AMD appears to have focused heavily on the AMDGPU work for DRM-Next, as was reported yesterday. Several targets were initially not supported, and it is pleasant to see that work is now added to upcoming patches within the various open-source projects to prepare for Q1 releases. https://wccftech.com/gnu-compiler-collection-version-13-receives-amd-zen-4-cpu-tuning-before-release/

  8. Rabat - Rabat's national zoo hosted today an exhibition featuring the 110,000-year-old Atlas Lion fossil recently discovered in Essaouira. Titled “Atlas Lion: Echoes of a Roar that Spans Thousands of Years,” the exhibition featured archaeological sites where lion fossils were discovered. The exhibition also put the spotlight on archaeological documents and historical resources about Atlas Lions’ skulls, as well as details on the lions' hunting strategies. Speaking with Morocco World News on the sidelines of the event, Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco's Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, said, “The most recent discovery of the Atlas Lion fossil in Essaouira and the scientific work carried out by the international researchers along with the national institute will help make Morocco's history known.” Bensaid also lauded the researchers' remarkable efforts over the years that led to this scientific breakthrough. “The significance of this discovery lies in its ability to help us understand Morocco in the past,” he said, adding that “anyone wishing to build their future must first understand their past.” Commenting on Alegria’s latest cultural appropriation of the Atlas Lions’ nickname, Bensaid stressed, “ The Atlas Lions have been present in Morocco for at least two million years; this establishes their historical connection to the country.” He concluded: “This is a scientific approach that must not be politicized.” The event also marked the signing of a geological heritage protection agreement between the Ministers of Youth, Culture, and Communication and Energy Transition and Sustainable Development. On December 18, Morocco's National Institute of Archeology and Heritage (INSAP) announced the discovery of a 110,000-year-old Atlas Lion fossil in Essaouira. The discovery was made by an international team of experts affiliated with the institute, including archaeologists from the University of Arizona in the US, and from France’s Aix-Marseille University. The traces of the Atlas Lion were discovered “for the first time in the history of archaeological research,” the institute said in a statement. The Atlas lion, also known as the Barbary lion, used to be found in North Africa, in the region stretching from Morocco in the west to Egypt in the east. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/01/353522/culture-minister-history-supports-atlas-lions-centuries-old-presence-in-morocco

  9. Rabat - The value of Turkiye’s exports to Morocco slightly increased in 2022, rising from $2.98 billion in 2021 to $3 billion, Turkish news agency Andolu Agency (AA) reported. A notable increase in Turkish exports to African countries, including Morocco, came as Turkiye was looking for alternatives to the Russian and Ukrainian markets amid the war in Ukraine. The ongoing war has caused major hurdles to Turkiye’s export sector due to the continuous cancellations and postponements of orders from the two East European nations, AA explained. Turkiye’s exports to African countries hit a record of $21 billion in 2022, an increase of 12.3% compared to the year prior. In addition, African countries represented 8.6% of Turkiye’s total exports in 2022. With an export value of $3.9 billion in 2022, Egypt is Turkiye’s top export destination in the African continent, followed by Morocco in second place. Read also: Turkey’s Exports to Morocco Increase Despite Imposed Tariffs Meanwhile, Libya came in third place with $2.4 billion, ahead of Algeria ($1.9 billion) and South Africa ($1.6 billion), respectively. The Turkish news agency indicated that the chemicals sector contributed the most to Turkiye’s exports to African countries, with a total of $4.02 billion, nearly a third of Turkish exports to the continent. Besides Africa, Turkish exports to Europe reached $93.6 billion in 2022, while accounting for $32.8 billion for countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region during the same period. © Morocco World News. 10. Rabat - Following long legal back and forth between France and Belgium, Belgian authorities have deported Moroccan Imam Hassan Iquioussen from the European country towards Morocco, French news outlet Le Figaro quoted AFP as reporting. After Morocco gave a consular pass for Iquioussen’s deportation, the Moroccan imam was placed on a flight going from Brussels to the Moroccan city of Casablanca on Friday afternoon, the imam’s lawyer Me Lucie Simon told AFP. Nicole de Moor, the Belgian Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, has welcomed Belgium and France’s “good cooperation” on Iquioussen’s case. “We cannot allow an extremist to roam our territory. Anyone who does not have the right to be here must be deported,” Le Figaro quoted Moor as saying. The Moroccan Imam, who was arrested in Belgium in September last year, had been facing a European arrest warrant issued by France. Read also: France Uses Controversial Law To Expel Moroccan Imam Iquioussen France’s Council of State gave the green light for Iquioussen’s deportation in 2022 after the French Ministry of Interior accused the Moroccan Imam of “proselytizing speech interspersed with inciting hatred and discrimination.” According to converging reports, Brussels attempted to deport the imam back to France last November, but was met with silence from the French side. Belgium then decided to deport Iquioussen to Morocco instead of keeping him “unreasonably” detained. “In order to not prolong the detention of Hassan Iquioussen unreasonably, the person concerned will be returned to the Moroccan border,” news outlet BFMTV quoted Belgian authorities as saying. The news comes after Moroccan authorities in September 2022 canceled a consular pass they had issued to have the 58-year-old imam deported to his home country. Iquioussen was born in France and is the father of five French-born children and the grandfather of 15. However, the imam is not a French citizen and his request to renew his 10-year residency in the European country was last year in the wake of controversy surrounding his potential deportation © Morocco World News. 11. Genshin Impact update 3.4 will launch next week, but as usual, leakers are already looking toward the future. In this case, we’re already getting details about Genshin’s next major update, version 4.0, which promises to add the new region Fontaine and numerous additional characters. So, what’s the deal with Fontaine anyways? While the new area’s map is yet to leak, a number of details about Fontaine are already known from in-game lore and leaks. The nation is associated with the Hydro element and is said to be a hub of culture and art and have a complex legal system. Much like the regions of Liyue and Inazuma were inspired by China and Japan respectively, it seems like Fontaine is based on 19th/early 20th century France and continental Europe, and may have a bit of a steampunk aesthetic based on leaked character designs. Speaking of those characters, reliable Genshin Impact leaker Mero recently posted a lineup of 10 characters, most of which are said to originate from Fontaine. The names of some of these characters have already been identified – the first from the left is apparently named Lynette, the second is Neuvillette (the Chief Justice of Fontaine), and the third is Fontaine’s unnamed Hydro Archon. Interestingly, Mero has identified two of the characters in the lineup – the 5th and 8th from the left – as not being from Fontaine. Instead, they'll be a part of some sort of Mondstadt update. The very first area players were able to explore when Genshin Impact released, Mondstadt now feels a bit quaint and dated compared to some of the game’s newer, larger regions. Rumors of a Mondstadt update have been circulating for a while, so perhaps it’s finally happening. Of course, take all this with a grain of salt for now. Most Genshin Impact leaks end up being on the money, but, of course, plans can change. Genshin Impact can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. Update 3.4 arrives on January 18. No word on when version 4.0 might arrive – there will probably be at least a couple more 3-series updates, at which point HoYoVerse will likely jump directly to 4.0, so expect Fontaine to arrive sometime in spring. https://wccftech.com/genshin-impact-4-0-fontaine-region-details-characters-mondstadt-update/

  12. Today we will show you how you can enable end-to-end encryption for your WhatsApp backup on both iPhone and Android for extra security. Keep your WhatsApp texts, Photos, video, and voice messages safe by enabling backup encryption on iPhone and Android WhatsApp lets you create a complete backup of your chats to either iCloud or Google Drive, depending on which platform you are using - iOS or Android. This backup includes your texts, photos, videos, audio messages, locations, and whatnot. Needless to say that it is extremely important and private at the same time. Unfortunately, that backup is not exactly safe until you turn on encryption for your backups. Thankfully, there is a way to turn that feature on and keep everything safe from those with ill intentions. This feature was rolled out a while back and is not enabled by default - kinda strange, actually. Today, we will show you how you can enable backup encryption, and all it takes is a few simple taps. Tutorial Note: WhatsApp backups require a fair amount of storage in the cloud. You might need to buy extra storage in order to keep everything stored in either iCloud or Google Drive. Step 1. Launch WhatsApp. Step 2. Tap on the Settings tab and then tap on Chats. Step 3. Now tap on Chat Backup. Step 4. Right at the bottom, you'll see an option called 'End-to-end Encrypted Backup.' Tap on it to open.Step 6. You will be required to create a password for this backup. Create one by tapping on Create Password, which is extremely secure, and one which you can remember later on. Step 7. Tap on Next at the top right-hand corner and follow the on-screen instructions until the backup is complete. This may take a while if you have a slow internet connection. Be warned, if you lose or forget the password you created for the encrypted backup, you'll lose all your data. Meta or WhatsApp won't help you recover your data or password at all - if it's gone, it's gone for good. You should keep this in mind before enabling this feature. I will highly recommend turning on this feature if you love nothing more than a layer of security over your personal stuff. It's way better than not having it at all. 13. Last Friday, Scott Herkelman, AMD Senior VP & GM of Radeon Graphics at AMD, sat down with Gordon Mah Ung, Executive Editor at PCWorld, to discuss the current cooler malfunctions within the AMD RX 7900 XTX graphics cards during CES 2023. During the discussion, the AMD Senior stated that the issues with the new graphics cards are in a minute number of cases, but the number of reported RMA cases speaks otherwise. AMD Believes the RX 7900 XTX graphics card vapor gate failure is minimal, but more users are fighting about quality control In Herkleman's interview with PC World, the AMD Senior ensured that AMD wants you to feel confident in your purchasing decisions and that AMD recognizes the issues: It all comes down to a small batch of vapor chambers actually have an issue, not enough water and it is a very small percentage and we said that's the root cause. We have identified this, you spent a lot of money if you bought this XTX made by AMD, we want to fix it for you, we have the fix, we are ready to fix it for you, just call tech support if you bought it from AMD.com or bought it from an AMD AIB Partner. They have units, we know how to identify that they are good the units and make sure that we ship it to you. We want you to have a great product and we want you to be confident in that product. Scott Herkleman (AMD SVP of GPU Buisness) via PCWorld While this sounds promising, Igorslab uncovered nine to eleven percent of reported RMA cases between consumers, AMD, and their partners. Wallossek is one of the 11% working on getting the replacement. The first response, which was translated from Wallossek from the German AMD support center, reads: We understand that you want a replacement for your RX 7900 XTX. It is important to know that at the moment we are not able to replace your card as we do not have stock available in our warehouses. We can start the process as soon as the inventory is replenished, but right now we don’t have an estimated date for replenishment. If you prefer a refund instead, we can process that refund immediately, and we will provide you with a return label so you can send the card back to our warehouse. The problem lies within the acceptable quality level, or AQL, which goes through standards set by the ISO or International Organization for Standardization. Acceptable quality level is considered "the quality level that is the worst tolerable." section ISO 2859-1:1999, published in November 1999 and updated in 2020, offers the quantitative measurement of the acceptable quality of a product. AQL defects are then separated into three sections — minor, major, and critical faults. Minor flaws have an AQL of four percent, major defects are at 2.5%, and critical defects have an AQL of zero percent. AQL Standards, however, do vary depending on the industry. Because of this, certain products can be sent out into the world with some defects because of the standards met on a production level to allow for that product to see retail. Hypothetically, out of 1,000 graphics cards sold, a total of ten are capable of being defective before a company would need to step in and remove the line from the shelves, offering 100% RMAs, and more due to what is called a "rejectable quality level," or RQL. AMD stating that a small amount of graphics cards sold are defective could be based on the initial numbers that were reported by the company as manufactured. Before AMD's launch of the RX 7900 XTX, the company was said to have manufactured 200,000 units. Using the AQL standard and the industry standard for defects is one percent, two thousand units would have to be shown as defective before the company would step in and initiate a recall. Igor Wallossek, who has been in the industry for much longer than this writer, states that the AVC's (Asia Vital Components Co, Ltd.) quality assurance number is "10,000 units," which is five times what this writer calculated. Again, I am not an industry professional but a reporter that writes about malfunctions and more for this news organization. Igor Wallossek goes into greater detail about this subject, and you should read his analysis of the issue on his website. The underlying message that is being placed by several sources is that the quality of the products shipping out to consumers is a problem. We all want products to work as intended when they are sold off the shelf, and we don't want to jump through several hoops because the product never worked correctly before shipment. https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-failure-rates-reportedly-at-11-rmas-piling-up-but-users-not-receiving-cards/

  15. Rabat - Peru’s government is negotiating with the Moroccan embassy to obtain a donation of 150,000 tonnes of fertilizer, according to reports from Peruvian media. "The minister has coordinated with the embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco to see this matter resolved and soon there will be a joint meeting with the Agrarian Commission and the Minister of Foreign Affairs,” Deputy Minister of Family Agriculture Development and Agrarian Infrastructure and Irrigation Christian Barrantes Bravo said. Speaking to the Peruvian Congress, Bravo said that the fertilizer issue is a priority for the ministry. The attempt to obtain fertilizer from Morocco comes after the country’s government failed to obtain fertilizer following four purchase attempts that did not go through. Before the end of 2022, Peru’s government had announced the cancellation of another attempt to obtain fertilizer, citing the presence of “more efficient mechanisms” to meet the demand among farmers. Morocco had canceled fertilizer shipments to the Latin American country in October after then-President Pedro Castillo re-established relations with the separatist Polisario Front. The move was a controversial one in Peru, leading to Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Rodriguez Mackay’s resignation over a disagreement with the president over the decision. Peruvian Congressman Jose Cueto also voiced his disagreement with the decision, saying in an interview: “Not even the UN endorses them and we are, unfortunately, endorsing the foreign policy with this phantom Republic, which has absolutely no benefit for our country.” The congressman had also said that Morocco and Peru had a “goodwill agreement” to support the Latin American country after its “failed purchases of fertilizers.” In December, Castillo was impeached and detained for “rebellion” after he attempted to dissolve the country’s congress. Dina Boluarte was appointed as his successor, and will be in charge until the end of his term in 2026. © Morocco World News. All Rights Reserved. 16. Rabat - A bipartisan group from the US senate arrived in Morocco as part of its tour to the four Abraham Accords countries. American news outlet Axios quoted Senator Jacky Rosen and James Lankford who are leading the Abraham Accords Caucus. “My colleagues and I look forward to meeting with senior government officials, business leaders, and civil society organizations to discuss how we can strengthen the relationships fostered by the Accords and expand them to new countries,” Axios reported Rosen as saying. The US Congress formed the bipartisan Abraham Accords Caucus to promote cooperation and relations between the US, Israel, and Arab states. Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita is set to hold talks with the delegation today in Rabat. The delegation, which is set to visit Israel, the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco, aims to strengthen ties throughout the “region through reconciliation and common pals,” senator Lankford said. The visit announcement came just a few days following talks between high-ranking officials from Negev countries in Abu Dhabi. During the talks, the officials stressed the importance of the Negev summit held in Israel in 2022 and vowed that the new summit meeting in 2023 will represent “another critical step in the advancement” of the forum process. The summit seeks to further strengthen ties and cooperation between Israel and the Arab state signatories of the Abraham Accords. Morocco is part of the countries that re-established diplomatic ties with Israel as part of the US-brokered Abraham Accords. The two countries re-established relations in December 2020, vowing to strengthen cooperation at all levels, particularly trade, education, security, and technology. Despite the re-establishment of relations, Morocco’s government has renewed its constant support for a two-state solution to end the Palestine-Israeli conflict. The North African country also reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate right of Palestinians to enjoy an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. A recent report from Arab Barometer showed that 64% of Moroccans oppose the re-establishment of ties between Morocco and Israel. Around 34% of surveyed Moroccans in the report said they “strongly” oppose relations between the two countries, while 30% others said they “oppose” it. Another 23% of Moroccans reported that they are in favor of the re-establishment of ties between the two countries, while as little as 8% of them said they “strongly” favor the Moroccan decision to re-establish ties with Tel Aviv. © Morocco World News. 18. Android, at the time of writing, occupies over 43.23% market share, the largest compared to all mobile platforms, and it totally dwarves its competitor, iOS, which stands at 17.67%. However, the latest information suggests that Android is on the brink of facing massive damage in one of its largest markets, where it occupies over 97% market share. Android's position in India could dwindle in the next few months Android is currently facing a lot of trouble in India, where the growth could come to a halt, and all of this is because of antitrust order that will change how Google is marketing the platform. In October 2022, the Competition Commission of India CCI fined Google $161 million. Google was fined for exploiting its dominant market share in India and was asked to change the restrictions it forces smartphone makers to follow regarding systems or pre-installed apps. According to Google's reasoning, giving in to CCI's decision will result in the company changing an age-old business model. The search giant will need to make modifications to the existing contracts, there will also be a need for new license agreements, and the existing arrangements with over 1,100 device manufacturers and over 1,000 app developers will also have to be altered. This is what Google has said in its Supreme Court filing (via Reuters) "Tremendous advancement in growth of an ecosystem of device manufacturers, app developers and users is at the verge of coming to a halt because of the remedial directions." If this does go through, Google and Android, in general, will be facing trouble as the company will have to make changes to the mobile platform; these mechanisms have been in place for almost 15 years. The CCI has issues with Google prohibiting uninstalling system apps such as Google Maps or YouTube; these apps, for the longest time, have been a staple of Google's ecosystem. Although Google has not commented on the situation, it has asked the Supreme Court to put the new order on hold. Are you happy with how apps come preloaded on Google, or should there be another way? Let us know in the comments below. https://wccftech.com/android-faces-a-huge-trouble-in-one-of-its-largest-markets-in-the-world/
