  1. Strategy & Simulation Games tend to cycle. We've had several strong years recently, with 2020 being a recent highlight. None of the recent years lacked; this will be my seventh consecutive list for the two genres, so I should know. This list can include no game in early access and no reboots, remakes, or re-imaginings (sorry, Tactics Ogre: Reborn). Also in Wccftech's Best Games of 2022 lists: Shooters, Fighting, Platformer, Adventure, Indie, Action, Horror, and Multiplayer. As an interesting aside, this sort of feels like the end of a circle. 2016 was my first time writing best-of lists for Strategy and Simulation (separate at that time), and some familiar entries here bring back some fond memories. The best example is the very first game on my list: Genre: Strategy (Grand Strategy). Platform: PC. No year is complete without what has become a tradition; a SEGA-published strategy game being worthy of any game of the year list, never mind just the strategy & simulation list. Acting as the end of Creative Assembly's run in the Warhammer world, this marked a perfect end to the trilogy, particularly if you want the pure Total War experience with the Immortal Empires campaign. As the culmination of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy, the story-focused approach combined with massive multiple-part battles feels like the right thing to do. While aspects can make you feel rushed, this is undeniably intentional as you're in a race against all other factions on the map, and the more I play it, the more I like it. The battles feel genuinely epic, with even regular ones seeing significant improvement thanks to excellent design. AI improvements on the campaign map, combined with the unique features of factions, also add another layer to the game. There are a few niggles here and there; the AI has issues during battles. Corruption on the campaign map also feels imbalanced, but while these can be irritating (corruption mainly), they are minor issues in the grand scheme. All in all, Total War: Warhammer III is an excellent game.Genre: Simulation. Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series S/X, Nintendo Switch. SEGA appears again, making me repeat something yet again: SEGA is one of the best publishers in gaming today, particularly if you're of a strategic (with a dash of simulation) mindset. Two Point Campus, the follow-up to Two Point Hospital, carries on from the original. The developers seem to be setting up a Two Point Universe, giving us a collection of slapstick management simulations for anything and everything. Police or Fire services next? Thanks to solid gameplay and a good sense of humour, as well as Two Point Studios strengthening the management aspects, I'm looking forward to the next outing. Two Point Campus follows the track laid by Two Point Hospital, keeping the same comedic look and tone, the same humour in its courses and curses. Like their first title, this combines strong simulation and management mechanics with accessibility that works well with the aforementioned tone and aesthetic. Two Point Studios know their work, and they're no doubt leading the class in more ways than one. Genre: Strategy (Turn-Based Tactics). Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series S/X, Nintendo Switch. Following on from Total War, Marvel's Midnight Suns also represents the circle I mentioned initially. Firaxis, developers of XCOM2, return and appear on this list. I, being the cynical arse that I am, assumed Marvel's Midnight Suns was going to be a run-of-the-mill game, essentially XCOM but Marvel. How wrong I was. Yes, this is a turn-based tactics title like XCOM, but that's where the similarities end. Integrating deck-based mechanics almost perfectly, it also integrates chance due to you never being sure if you will draw a helpful card. In addition to engaging combat, Firaxis has also included strong RPG mechanics, branching out from their usual style and performing admirably. Marvel's Midnight Suns is a strong tactical RPG that feels like something that wouldn't be amiss in the MCU. Some elements can feel a little bloated, but it's a very strong game. The characterisation is top-notch, with some excellent scriptwriting and voice-acting to support it. Outside of the RPG aspects, combat is fun, engaging, and challenging - particularly at higher difficulty levels. I've had a lot of fun with the game, and I'm still having fun with it, and I can't help but think that fans of the genre - and Marvel - would enjoy it as much as me. https://wccftech.com/wccftechs-best-strategy-simulation-games-of-2022/
  2. WhatsApp is one of the most popular internet messaging apps on smartphones. The platform is available on a wide range of iPhone and Android smartphones that you can download and use for free. WhatsApp is gradually introducing new features to the mix to enhance the user experience, including the Stories feature in the Status tab. However, the platform drops support for older smartphones from time to time. According to the latest, WhatsApp will soon drop support for Apple's older iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. WhatsApp to soon drop support for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c by December 31, 2022 According to GizChina, WhatsApp will soon drop support for iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c, along with almost 50 other devices, by December 31. Besides these iPhone models, the list includes Samsung's Galaxy S3, HTC Desire 500, and much more. Take note that WhatsApp is no longer available for devices running iOS 10 or iOS 11. This means that WhatsApp was already discontinued on iPhone 5c and iPhone 5. Apple launched the iPhone 5 back in 2012 with an A6 chip that ran iOS 6. The iPhone 5c was launched in 2013 with the same chip and both devices have been updated until 2019 with iOS 10.3.4. If you happen to own an iPhone 5s, you will still be able to use WhatsApp. However, be sure to update to the latest firmware in order to keep using the messaging platform. WhatsApp states that it drops support for older phones to improve the experience for users on modern smartphones. Currently, WhatsApp is available on the App Store and Play Store for free and requires iOS 12 or newer versions. It would be best if you keep a backup of your chats and data if you are using the listed smartphones. We will keep you guys updated on the latest, so be sure to stick around. Share your thoughts with us in the comments. To choose what to stop supporting, every year we, like other technology companies, look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the fewest number of people still using them. These devices also might not have the latest security updates, or might lack the functionality required to run WhatsApp. https://wccftech.com/you-will-no-longer-be-able-to-use-whatsapp-on-iphone-5-iphone-5c-and-other-phones/
  3. AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XTX reference graphics card appears to have a major defect in its cooler design as pointed out by Der8auer. AMD's Reference Radeon RX 7900 XTX Cards May Have A Faulty Vapor Chamber That Causes Overheating & Leads To Thermal Throttling Over the past week, users started reporting a serious issue with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX 'MBA' reference graphics cards that caused overheating and resulted in thermal throttling. This made reference designs perform worse since they were running at lower clock speeds and while the initial response from AMD was that everything was 'Normal' and declined an RMA to a customer, the company has now softened its position and asked affected users to contact the support team. Now in the second video published by Der8auer on the overheating issue, the tech expert states that he has so far received 48 such confirmed cases and a few users even sent him their cards for further evaluation. While it was previously thought that removing and reinstalling the cooler and applying proper pressure might fix the issue, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore and it is actually far worse. Der8auer tested the cards with a horizontal mounting, and a cooler mount to increase the pressure and even tried replacing the spacer bolts and washers which is something that Igor's Lab had proposed a day ago in his own findings. But it looks like neither of these fixed the overheating issue and the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX reference graphics cards still hit 110C Junction temperature. The flip method didn't even work either. All of this makes Der8auer conclude that the problem on the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card isn't a simple mounting mistake but a fault within the cooler, more specifically, the heatsink that utilizes a vapor chamber. Der8auer theorizes that the vapor chamber could either have a design or a material issue that is preventing the liquid within it from correctly flowing around the card. Der8auer seems quite confident that the vapor chamber is the issue and that he will have a follow-up video where he dissects the block to see how the vapor flow is handled by it. Now if it really turns out to be a design flaw within the cooler itself, then AMD might potentially have to recall all Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards since they definitely aren't designed within spec and also aren't operating under 'Normal' spec. AMD made quite a buzz around its Radeon 7900 coolers being small and easy to upgrade to but it seems like they overlooked a major flaw within the heatsink itself. https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-reference-models-might-have-a-faulty-vapor-chamber-that-causes-overheating/

  6. Rabat - Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Al-Tawfiq has announced that 6,048 mosques in Morocco are equipped with energy-efficient devices, noting that the development is in line with an energy rehabilitation framework his ministry worked on in 2014. The energy rehabilitation program was originally set up by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Energy Transition, with a budget of MAD 97 million. The minister said he hopes there will be another 1,980 mosques included in the project before the end of 2023. Al-Tawfiq announced the latest update on the Green Mosque project during a session at the House of Councillors, the upper house of the Moroccan parliament. Mosques that follow the framework will have the opportunity to be awarded under five different categories that recognize this green mosque initiative. To be classified as a Green Mosque there must be evidence that they are utilizing equipment such as low-consumption lamps, solar water heaters, and photovoltaic panels. Currently, there are 1,000 mosques functioning on energy-efficient equipment, that have been classified as Green Mosques. Under the same framework, the ministry also emphasized the need to raise awareness of energy-efficient techniques, which involves training staff and administration. The move aims to prioritize measures that reduce energy consumption, as the “population is being sensitized to the issues of energy efficiency and renewable energy,” Green Mosques' official website stated. The work has been possible thanks to the individuals working in the buildings such as imams, women preachers, and the employees at the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE), the same source explained. This is not the first time that mosques in Morocco have implemented a green strategy. In 2016, 600 mosques made the change to use renewable energy. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/12/353161/6-048-moroccan-mosques-equipped-with-energy-efficient-tools

  8. Rabat - The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has lauded Morocco's World Cup performances and called on other African countries to learn from the North African kingdom. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday in Johannesburg, Motsepe argued that Morocco's historic run at the Qatar World Cup was a logical result of the colossal investments the country has injected in advancing its football. He added that other African countries could achieve the same success when “governments and their football associations work hand-in-hand to develop the game.” Morocco has “opened the door and made us proud,” the CAF president said, urging the rest of the continent to get inspiration from Moroccan football. Morocco’s success in Qatar was “not by coincidence,” he said, adding: “Many African countries should learn from Morocco and be inspired by their investments.” With Morocco having lifted the curse of the quarter-finals that had long hovered over African teams at the World Cup, Motsepe said he is now confident that an African team can do as well as Morocco in 2026 or even win the global tournament. The CAF chief's comments come after Morocco's Atlas Lions defied all odds at the Qatar World Cup, knocking out several high-ranked teams and becoming the first African and Arab team to reach the semi-finals. The Moroccan Lions received a hero homecoming celebration when they came back from Qatar on Tuesday. Upon the team's arrival in Rabat, thousands of fans lined the capital's streets to welcome their national heroes. King Mohamed VI also hosted the national team and decorated them with royal wissams. The King also decorated head coach Walid Regragui and the head of Morocco’s Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa. © Morocco World News. All Rights Reserved. 9. World of Warcraft: Dragonflight launched in November, but that’s not the end of the line for scaly new content. Blizzard has detailed their 2023 plans for Dragonflight, which will include two major seasonal updates that will offer new zones, raids, professions, and more. In between those seasons, will be smaller content updates, with the first one delivering the Trading Post mechanic in early 2023. You can check out the full Dragonflight 2023 calendar, below. Here's a bit more detail about what Blizzard is planning for 2023… “In total, we are planning to deliver six content patches, fairly evenly spaced, over the course of 2023. This will include two major updates, the traditional pillars of our expansions—with new zones, raids, and seasonal rewards—but in between those, we want to keep expanding and evolving our world with new world events, updates to systems, and evergreen holidays, new dungeon experiences, new narrative chapters and cinematics that can serve as epilogues or as prologues to the next major step in the adventure, and, most importantly of all, more opportunities for us to respond to feedback and change or add elements based on what we're hearing is most needed by our players. We recently announced the upcoming 10.0.5 content update, which should go live early next year, bringing with it the Trading Post system which allows players of all playstyles to earn a wide range of fun cosmetic rewards of their choice, as well as (finally!) allowing Poor-quality and Common-quality items to be acquired as transmog appearances— for those who prefer a somewhat humbler look—and a bit of new world content in the Primalist Tomorrow area. Shortly after that is in your hands, we'll release the 10.0.7 content update onto our Public Test Realm. 10.0.7 will contain a new quest campaign and repeatable world content set in the Forbidden Reach, as the dracthyr return to their place of confinement (along with some unexpected guests) to learn more about their origins and their destiny. This content will set up the next major chapter of Dragonflight, and by its conclusion, it should be obvious what our next destination must be. Alongside this new content, we also plan to add questlines for Human and Orc cosmetic Heritage Armor, update some of our recurring holidays, and more. There will also be a 10.1.5 and 10.1.7 content update coming in the second half of the year, bridging the period between our second and third major updates. We don't want there to be any specific formula for the size or shape of these updates, but the goal is simply more Warcraft: more story, more content, more rewards, more events, more tech improvements, with less downtime between them. I don't want to spoil everything, and I'm confident that there are at least a couple of surprises coming along the way that no one is expecting. And some of the details simply aren't decided yet, because your feedback will help shape exactly what we prioritize in these updates.” Activision Blizzard has faced a series of lawsuits and other legal action on the heels of a suit filed by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) alleging widespread gender-based discrimination and sexual harassment at the Call of Duty publisher. You can get more details on that unfolding story here. https://wccftech.com/world-of-warcraft-dragonflight-2023-roadmap-content/

  11. GALAX is preparing to launch brand new HOF products at CES 2023 which will include its next-gen DDR5 memory & PCIe Gen 5.0 SSDs. From machine translation, it promises heavy performance, and the image offers a sneak peek at the RGBs on the module. It is expected to launch on Friday, right before Christmas. GALAX Teases Next-Gen HOF Products Including DDR5-8000 Memory & PCIe Gen 5.0 NVMe SSD The new HOF memory module is a change from the previous GALAX designs. IT Home notes that the HOF logo is outlined by part of the RGB on the module, which confirms that the memory will be part of a higher-performing set. The anticipated speed of the new memory module from GALAX is expected to feature DDR5 speeds of up to 8000 Mbps which will make it one of the fastest DRAM modules on the planet for enthusiast PCs. GALAX is also releasing its new HOF PCIe 5.0 SSD that includes a central fan to dissipate heat more adequately. The new SSD will also be part of the HOF family and will have a read speed of 12 GB/s. Both products will be at next year's CES 2023, but it will be exciting to see these on Friday when both launch. GALAX is not the only company to release or soon to release DDR5-8000 memory modules. NETAC, G.Skill, TeamGroup, and Zhiqi, have all hinted at or revealed new memory modules for next-gen PCs. Currently, overclocking enthusiasts are seeing great use in pushing systems to their limits with more unique DDR5-8000 memory kits. The demand for increased memory speeds is needed, with processors and graphics cards requiring more memory speeds to deliver high-performance levels, whether workloads or next-level graphics. Maintaining temperatures on newer DDR5-8000 memory modules has required leaps in finding just the right combination of cooling techniques. Larger heatsinks are more present on the DDR5-8000 modules we have seen so far, and by the looks of the teaser for GALAX's new memory, the same seems to follow their design. CES 2023 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the number of exhibitors has reached 2,400 (an increase from last week), and over 100,000 attendees are anticipated to walk the floor. Several companies will participate in "Media Days" (January 3-4, 2023), where many presentations will be held online and in person. On January 5 & 6, 2023, attendees will be able to meet with several representatives, witnessing products to be released in the year and into the future. https://wccftech.com/galax-readies-ddr5-8000-hof-memory-hof-pcie-gen5-nvme-ssds-for-ces-unveil/

  12. Rabat - Arabic is a language rich in culture and history. Delving deeper into this fascinating language uncovers some surprising facts. Here is a selection of five of the most surprising facts about Arabic. One of the most difficult languages There are around 313 million Arabic speakers across 25 countries according to Babel, who also wrote that Arabic is the second most difficult language to learn for English speakers. One aspect of the language that non-natives struggle with is pronunciation, as Arabic has many phonetic sounds that Latin-based languages simply do not have. Mastering sounds such as the “ghain,” and “ain” is difficult, as they are glottal sounds that do not exist in English. Nevertheless, the popular language learning app Duolingo stated that nearly four million of its users chose to study Arabic last year landing it 10th place among the most learned languages on the application. Choosing Arabic can come down to a variety of reasons. Some dedicate their learning to religious reasons with the aim of understanding and reciting the Quran. Others may choose the language for career reasons, as there are approximately 375 million Arabic speakers in the world, which means that understanding the language could open up new job opportunities. Arabic words in English At first glance, it is easy to assume there are no connections between the English and Arabic languages. However, there are many English words that originate from Arabic, one of which is the word alcohol, as the term in fact originates from the Arabic word ‘Al- Kuhool’. The word alcohol comes from ‘kohl’ which was used to describe the chemical powder mixture used as makeup in the Egyptian era, which was later found to cause lead poisoning. Yet the term was not used to describe alcohol as we know it, that only came into practice in the 18th century. Other common words that come from Arabic include hazard, giraffe, jar, and algebra. The term algebra stands as an example of how the Arabic language has long been forming fundamental concepts that we have today. Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi wrote the famous “Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing around the year 820. Featured prominently in the book, the Arabic word “al-Jabr” was adopted into English as Algebra. The history of Arabic Arabic remains largely unchanged in the last 1400 years, unlike other languages that have seen drastic alterations over time such as English. The most notable change in the classical form of Arabic is that in the past it did not have symbols or dots marking the letters, which is now a feature used to distinguish between many similar letters in the Arabic alphabet, such as the letters baa, taa, and thaa. Why is Arabic written from right to left? The direction of writing from right to left is called dextrosinistral. Languages that follow this direction of writing are based on a different alphabet known as Aramaic, which both Hebrew and Arabic share a connection with. The Aramaic alphabet was prevalent throughout the Middle East in the ninth and tenth centuries. The language of the first-ever university Arabic was the language taught at the first-ever university in the world. Al Qaraouiyine University in Fez was founded by Fatima bint Muhammad Al-Fihriya. The classes focused on classical Arabic and grammar. The university, which dates back to the year 859, was also home to the oldest library in the world. The institution is still open to this day. Read Also: Fatima Al-Fihri: The Mother of Moroccan Intellectuals Arabic and its dialects Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) or Fousha is only the linguistically binding formation that many Arabic dialects are formed from. The most spoken Arabic dialects are Egyptian (Masri), Gulf (Khaliji), Maghrebi (Darija), and Levantine (Shami) among others. Within each country, there is an even more diverse breakdown of dialects and accents. In Morocco, for example, the dialect of Darija spoken in the north of the country can differ wildly from the one spoken by inhabitants in the south. Darija is made up of Arabic, French, Spanish and Amazigh influences, the influence of which differs from region to region. Many refer to the dialect as a “spoken language” because it has evolved over the years and does not have official codified rules that you find with Standard Arabic. Despite this, the dialect has conventions and rules that are widely understood by its speakers, despite the lack of officialization. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/12/353098/the-arabic-language-five-surprising-facts-you-need-to-know

  13. Rabat - It is hardly surprising to learn that tech titans are racing to develop artificial intelligence (AI) systems to help with facial recognition on smartphones, voice assistants, self-driving cars, and robots. The goal of a Moroccan artificial intelligence engineer is to create software that can think like a human and provide solutions to challenging problems. Most of the time, AI research is slow and laborious, and it takes tremendous skills and knowledge to work in the field. As an AI professor, one question frequently posed to me is, "Do you think there is a future for an artificial intelligence engineer in Morocco?" An engineer's responses often entail comprehending and analyzing how the human brain functions concerning a particular issue to provide the best feasible solution using computer programs. To answer the question of prospective AI engineers in Morocco, a few topics need to be discussed. Requirements Technical skills and knowledge, as well as teamwork, are essential for managing projects effectively and consulting outside specialists, making them must-have skills for future AI engineers. The nature of the job demands high-level goals and constant self-evaluation of one's performance, the person must also be extremely meticulous and tenacious. The engineer must have strong interpersonal skills because to construct an expert system they must gather expert information and formalize their knowledge. Thus, having human and communication skills will be very helpful in an AI engineer’s career. To develop a highly effective system, an AI engineer must first make a list of comprehensive requirement specifications that the AI system must perform. The engineer needs to be highly skilled in terms of technical knowledge, including command of automated systems, management of programming languages, and the ability to solve complex artificial intelligence problems (such as file deletion, text analysis tools, and understanding of natural language), and participation in projects involving information applications in particular. As a result, the importance of research is to increase knowledge in digital sciences, data sciences, and automatic language processing and implement and validate artificial intelligence methods and algorithms, which calls for a particular level of mathematical rigor. AI engineer roles are sought-after, this is because the technology is new and there is hesitation from public and private institutions to offer high-quality training in this area. Necessary training and qualifications To become an AI engineer, you must have a minor level BAC+5 degree (equivalent to a master’s degree). Some engineering schools and institutions like the University of Mohammed VI Polytechnique, the ENSIAS (Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Informatique et d'Analyse des Systemes), EMI (Ecole Mohammadia d'Ingenieurs, etc.) provide degrees in computer science and system management that integrate into the AI field. There are also academic programs that provide entry into this field (a doctorate, for instance, following an engineering degree, or even a master's in artificial intelligence in the Faculty of Science at Moroccan universities or the Hassania School of Public Works, etc.). More importantly, private schools are open and provide highly technical and specialized courses directly related to artificial intelligence, thanks to these institutions' ability to quickly adjust their educational offerings to meet the market demands for such professionals. Like EDVANTIS Higher Education Group with the engineering school (ISGA: the higher institute of business and engineering). Cauchy and promotion Moroccan artificial intelligence engineers frequently start with technical jobs before evolving into encroachment-related roles. They are typically integrated into research cells. After gaining some experience, they might advance to project manager, however, artificial intelligence projects are now relatively uncommon. Depending on the project, the artificial intelligence engineer collaborates with statisticians, automatic programmers, psychologists, designers, and ergonomists. The salary of an artificial intelligence engineer varies depending on the company's industry, the project they are working on, and their level of experience in the AI field. Finally, artificial intelligence is an evolving industry and has many years ahead of it. The field continues to captivate people and generate excitement around the world. With the skills and strategies established, students and prospective AI engineers need ideas regarding their career direction. They can decide on their choice, which also answers the first half of their question. 14. Rabat - King Mohammed VI sent on Sunday a message to Argentina’s President Alberto Fernandez to congratulate him and his country on the World Cup win. Argentina defeated France on penalties to clinch the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This is the third time that Argentina has triumphed and lifted the World Cup trophy. Commenting on the win, King Mohammed VI congratulated all of the members of the Argentinian football team, “who showed a sporting spirit, a very high competitiveness, and high technical performances,” throughout the World Cup. The monarch also wished Argentina more achievements in football and other sports. King Mohammed VI also sent a message to French President Emmanuel Macron, congratulating him on the French team’s second place during the World Cup. “The French team has shown a high degree of professionalism and credibility,” the King said, stressing that the second place in the world is “very honorable for France.” France’s football star Kylian Mbappe won the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot after scoring the most goals during the tournament. Argentina’s star Lionel Messi, meanwhile, won the Golden Ball, while his teammate Emiliano Martinez won the Golden Glove after his penalty heroics during the match against France. The World Cup journey ended on Sunday but marked several memorable events, including Morocco’s qualification for the semi-finals. Morocco also secured fourth place during the World Cup following eye-catching and brilliant performances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/12/353105/king-mohammed-vi-congratulates-argentina-on-world-cup-win

  15. The second Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta is winding down today, with players across Steam, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live coming together and fighting each other. Sign-ups were earlier this month and brought the same roster of eight characters from back in October. One specific note is that players could reduce the game’s native input delay through various methods. As luck would have it, people have compiled the data in a thread on ResetEra, which we’ll break down now. The following numbers were captured on a PlayStation 5 console running the game with a 120hz monitor capable of 4K. The results can be shown in the graph from kimagre gaming below. The lowest level of input delay, at least, according to this data, comes from playing the game at 1080p resolution with a 120hz refresh rate. It should be noted that the Input Delay Reduction mode is disabled with the compiled data. On the other side of the spectrum, running Street Fighter 6 at 4K with 60hz refresh causes a 1.75 frame delay increase compared to 1080p60hz (the middle metric in this scenario). Realistically, you’d want to have the lowest amount of input delay available, and those small delay changes can really matter at a high level. Meanwhile, kimagre gaming also linked a tweet that compiled data for the Xbox Series X|S version in the last beta as a point of reference, which you can see below.Overall, a pretty decent improvement from the last beta about two months ago. In a perfect world, the 4K resolutions wouldn’t cause such a significant jump in input delay, but there are still several months between this second beta and the game’s official release, so there’s very obviously time for Capcom to do more fine-tuning and reductions. We’ll continue to update as more information on Street Fighter 6 is released. Street Fighter 6 is slated to release on June 2nd, 2023, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. https://wccftech.com/street-fighter-6-closed-beta-test-on-ps5-has-2fr-input-lag-at-4k-resolution-vs-1080p/

  16. ASUS has teased that the company is working on a brand new 18-inch ROG gaming laptop to compete against Alienware & Razer. ASUS ROG teases 18-inch gaming laptop in the wake of announcements from Razer & Alienware ASUS is responding to Razer & Alienware's upcoming 18-inch gaming laptops. ROG "Big guy," as the Weibo account "Lonely City-Hardware" showcased on their page, is slated to be officially revealed by ROG during next year's CES 2023 Launch event, scheduled for January 3, 2023, at 10:00 am PST. The following video is the trailer for the new 18-inch gaming laptop from ROG: The video showcases edge RGB lighting and a strikingly colorful and clear picture coming from the new gaming laptop. Not much is known, but it is anticipated that the new ASUS ROG 18-inch gaming laptop will offer the Intel 13th Gen Core Raptor Lake HX processor and is speculated to have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series mobile chip. As this new ASUS ROG 18-inch gaming laptop hint follows both Alienware & Razer announcements, 2023 could be the year of larger and higher-performing laptops for gamers and enthusiasts that would rival a full-decked PC system. Razer's next-gen Blade 18 laptop has already leaked out while Alienware also teased that they were looking into the 18-inch gaming laptop segment and have also started to hint at their own "monstrous" design: IT Home notes that the last time Alienware offered an 18.4-inch gaming laptop was in the previous decade, including models M18X, M18X R2, M18X R3, and several others. The last Alienware 18-inch gaming laptop offered an Intel Gen Core i-4910MQ quad-core CPU, a 512 GB and 1 TB hard drive, the NVIDIA GTX 980M series GPU, and offered 32 GB of dual-channel DDR3L-1600 memory so we're talking almost a decade ago. 17. There are 1.9 million vehicles on the road today with incorrect numbers on their odometers, according to Carfax. That is up 7 percent from a year ago. While California has the most of these kinds of vehicles on the road today, the rate of increase was especially high in Texas, Florida, and Arizona. Digital odometers can make it easier to falsify a dashboard reading but also harder to get away with it if someone takes the time to investigate. Used-car prices continue to decline in the U.S., but that doesn't mean everything on the secondhand market is running perfectly. One unfortunate, old-fashioned trend that's making a bit of a comeback is odometer fraud. The digital age has, in some instances, made it easier than ever to roll back time. Almost 2 million vehicles on the road today have an odometer number that's been reduced in some way, according to a new report from Carfax. The 1.9 million incorrect readings represent a 7 percent increase from last year, Carfax said. As the largest car market in the U.S., it's not a surprise that California has the most affected vehicles—more than 437,000, Carfax said—but that number is only 2 percent higher than last year. There were three states in the top 10 with the most affected cars that saw double-digit growth in odometer fraud in the past 12 months: Texas (up 15 percent), Florida and Arizona (both up 12 percent). These rollbacks can have a real impact, causing buyers to lose an average of $4000 in value with their purchase, not counting any unexpected maintenance costs, Carfax said. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been tracking odometer fraud for decades. In 2002, it said there were around 450,000 cases of odometer fraud reported each year and that these misreported numbers ended up costing used-car buyers over a billion dollars a year. NHTSA said there is about a 3.5 percent chance that a car will have its odometer messed with in the first 11 years of its life. As we wrote in 2018, the digitization of vehicle odometers introduces a host of other factors to an odometer rollback, as so many other parts of the car use that number. This, plus increased data capture by auto repair shops and other sources, mean that even if the odometer is messed with, there are now more ways to confirm any changes. In 2021, NHTSA changed its rules for required ongoing odometer reporting so that any vehicle built in or after the 2011 model year now needs to be tracked for 20 years instead of just 10, as it was before. NHTSA said it made this change because the average age of the car on the road was increasing, and a change in the rules was required "to address an increase in odometer fraud involving older vehicles." How to Protect Yourself If you are looking to purchase an older vehicle with a mechanical odometer, there are some key things to look out for, NHTSA said. Ask for the title to see what the officially reported odometer reading is, and make sure that that detail is not difficult to read. If the car includes maintenance records, especially oil changes, they can be a good start to estimating accurate mileage. For relatively new vehicles (with under 20,000 miles), the tires should be original. NHTSA also recommends getting a vehicle history report, which Carfax (unsurprisingly) offers as an organization interested in selling information about used cars to buyers. The group's Odometer Fraud Check compares your Vehicle Information Number (VIN) to information in state DMV databases of vehicles that have been reported as having their odometers falsely changed. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a42271880/odometer-tampering-on-used-cars/

  18. Rabat - As climate change threatens to erode Morocco’s unique oasis ecosystem, the country's agriculture ministry announced today a new series of measures to mitigate the effect of climate change on oases, and develop resilient agriculture. Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests Minister Mohammed Sadiki chaired today in Errachidia the signing ceremony of 61 agreements to support projects and local initiatives to adapt oasis agriculture to climate change. Under a budget of MAD 23.6 million ($2.2 million), the initiative aims to fund sustainability projects related to boosting agricultural activities in oases. Selection criteria for accessing funding include employability, environmental impact, and contribution to women and rural youth empowerment, the ministry said in a statement reported by Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP). According to the statement, the conventions further aim to “secure, develop and make Morocco’s agriculture more resilient to climate change agricultural activities on a perimeter of 5000 ha in the oases downstream from the Kaddoussa dam.” The initiative is part of the Program for the Development of Irrigation and Adaptation of Agriculture to Climate Change (PDIAA-CC) downstream from the Kaddoussa dam, co-financed by the French Development Agency (AFD), the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Moroccan government. It is also part of Morocco's new Generation Green strategy which aims to establish resilient and eco-efficient agriculture, improve living conditions in rural areas, and create jobs. Speaking during the signing of the conventions, Sadiki detailed that the 61 projects selected will be carried out by 30 agricultural cooperatives, 18 associations, seven service cooperatives, three foundations, two associations of agricultural water users (AUEA), and an economic interest grouping (EIG). “These projects of local initiatives target 1700 people including 21% of women,” the minister said, adding that they will create more than 460 permanent and seasonal jobs. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/12/353086/morocco-adopts-61-conventions-to-save-oasis-agriculture-from-climate-change

  19. Rabat - Croatia defeated Morocco 2-1 on Saturday to claim the 2022 World Cup’s bronze medal at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. Scoring began very early on, with Croatia’s Josko Gvardiol placing a header into the back of Yassine Bounou’s net at the seventh minute. The Croats’ lead did not last long, as Moroccan defender Achraf Dari came back two minutes later to score another header from close range and put Morocco back in the game. Mislav Orsic put Croatia back in the lead at the 42nd minute after a shot that Bounou’s stretched hand could not quite reach. The second half saw both teams pushing into their oppositions’ halves, but solid defensive performances on both ends prevented another goal. Despite its elimination from the semi-final stage, Morocco’s national team entered history and will be leaving Qatar with heads held high for honorably representing Africa and the Arab world. Morocco defeated some global heavy-hitters, such as Belgium, Spain, and Portugal on their way to the top four. Despite an admirable performance against defending champions France, injuries and exhaustion combined with France’s attacking prowess to knock the Atlas Lions out. Read also: Thank You Atlas Lions: The Big Win We Already Won The game was also subject to officiating controversy, as Morocco’s football federation accused Mexican referee Cesar Ramos of robbing the team of two penalty opportunities. France will play Argentina at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday at 16:00 Moroccan time, with Les Blues hoping to become the first team to win consecutive World Cups since Brazil did so in 1962. Meanwhile, as the career of superstar Lionel Messi winds down, Argentina is searching for its first World Cup trophy since 1986 and its third overall. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/12/353085/morocco-finishes-fourth-in-world-cup-after-loss-to-croatia

  22. The latest Intel Core i9-13900KS 6 GHz Raptor Lake CPU benchmarks have leaked out & showcase up to a 15% improvement over the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X. Intel Core i9-13900KS, World's First 6 GHz Desktop CPU, Sits 15% Ahead of The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, Launches 12th January The Intel Core i9-13900KS will be the flagship Raptor Lake CPU, featuring 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core and 16 E-Core configuration. The 13900KS CPU features a 'Thermal Velocity Boost' frequency of up to 6 GHz, making it the first chip to hit that frequency out of the box. The CPU features a 'Turbo Boost Max' frequency of up to 5.8 GHz while the P-Cores run at a standard turbo frequency of up to 5.4 GHz while the E-Cores run at up to 4.3 GHz. Core i9-13900KS 8+16 (24/32) - 3.2 / 6.0 GHz - 66 MB Cache, 150W (PL1) / 253W (PL2)+ Core i9-12900KS 8+8 (16/24) - 3.4 / 5.5 GHz - 30 MB Cache, 125W (PL1) / 241W (PL2) The CPU will be featuring 68 MB of combined cache and a 150W PL1 rating that goes up to 253W & even beyond that using the extreme power profile modes. In terms of single-threaded performance, the Intel Core i9-13900KS CPU offers a 15% improvement over the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and a 5% improvement over the Core i9-13900K. In multi-threaded tests, the CPU offers an 8% improvement over the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and a 3% improvement over the Core i9-13900K. This is not that much of a significant gain over the Core i9-13900K but the gold silicon will make it a very enticing CPU for extreme overclockers and enthusiasts. Now the Core i9-13900KS won't come cheap and will definitely cost a premium of $100 to $200 US over the Core i9-13900K while also consuming much higher power. But that's why the chip will mostly be a limited production run and quantities won't be the same as the standard Core i9-13900K CPUs. The CPU is slated to launch on the 12th of January next year. https://wccftech.com/intel-core-i9-13900ks-6-ghz-raptor-lake-cpu-benchmarks-leak-up-to-15-perecent-faster-than-amd-ryzen-9-7950x/

  23. Rabat - Three Canadian parents are taking legal action against Epic Games, the gaming giant behind popular video game Fortnite, alleging the game is deliberately designed to make children addicted. According to converging reports, a Canadian judge has allowed a class-action lawsuit against Epic Games. In the court filings, the parents say that their children are addicted to the game to the point where they would give up on sleeping, eating, and showering to continue playing, according to a report from BB. The filing further cites the World Health Organization’s recognition of video game addiction in 2018. Responding to the allegations, Epic Games said that it provides parents with “industry-leading parental controls that empower parents to supervise their child's digital experience.” In a statement quoted in converging reports, the gaming company added that “Parents can receive playtime reports that track the amount of time their child plays each week, and require parental permission before purchases are made.” Read also: Study: Video Games May Enhance Cognitive Performance for Children The lawsuit argues that the game is developed to be addictive, and draws a comparison between video games and tobacco addiction. One of the plaintiffs’ children spent over 7,700 hours playing the game in less than two years. According to the BBC report, the judge overseeing the case said that other parents in Quebec can join the lawsuit against the company. Fortnite is an open-source game, meaning users can download and play it for free. However, the game includes in-game purchases. The company reportedly made over $5.8 billion through in-game purchases in 2021 alone. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/12/353020/candian-parents-suing-fortnite-makers-over-child-addictive-content

  24. Rabat - While already underfunded, companies in Morocco have had a harder time having access to bank loans in 2021 compared to the previous year. Excluding the financial sector, other Moroccan companies have locked MAD 1.2 billion ($114 million) in loans in 2021, down from MAD 7.4 billion (702 million) in 2020, according to data from Morocco’s Higher Commission of Planning (HCP), the country’s state-owned economic intelligence center. Having access to financing is crucial for companies to overcome operational hurdles, and fund expansion operations that would unlock growth potential. The drop in financing allocated for non-financial businesses pre-dates the recent tightening in macroeconomics and presents a major regression amid Morocco’s continuous efforts to boost financing for companies. Companies operating in finance escaped this trend. HCP data indicated that finance companies had access to MAD 34.2 billion ($3.2 billion) in loans in 2021, against MAD 38.2 billion ($3.6 billion) the previous year. Read also: European Bank Loans Morocco's Nador Port €100 million For Construction Constrained access to financing is a major challenge facing the growth of Morocco’s Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (SMEs), which constitute the bulk of businesses in the country; 90% of Moroccan companies are currently Small sized, and 9% are medium-sized. When attempting to file for financing from banks and other financing institutions, Moroccan businesses often face the need to present “extensive guarantees” that fall beyond their capacity, Morocco’s Central Bank Governer Abdellatif Jouahri said back in February. Largely considered sub-prime consumers, SMEs in Morocco are also slammed with higher fees for banking services even at the height of the COVID-induced crisis. © Morocco World News.
