Turns out, there are a lot of AirPods users out there that do not have an Apple phone, tablet or computer. What happens to those users whenever Apple releases a new firmware update for AirPods? Nothing at all, they're stuck on the firmware they got their AirPods with. But everything changes today. Just take your AirPods to Apple and they will update your earphones to the latest firmware version. Basically, if you don't have an iPhone, iPad or Mac, your AirPods will forever stay on the firmware they shipped with. If you've been experiencing bugs and issues, you can get rid of them by simply taking your AirPods to the Apple Store and have the firmware updated to the latest one. While this is great news, we really wish there was an official app for Android at least that would let you update the firmware over the air. Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.62 is now available for download which adds support for Path Tracing through the NVIDIA RT Overdrive mode. CD Prokjekt Red & NVIDIA Deliver Path Tracing To Cyberpunk 2077 In Patch 1.62's RT Overdrive Mode The new Cyberpunk 2077 1.62 Patch makes the world of Night City more beautiful and believable with accurate global illumination and shadows achieved through the use of Path Tracing. NVIDIA and CD Projekt Red developers have already stated that the game will become very demanding when RT Overdrive mode is enabled and you will require the best of the best hardware to run it at a stable frame rate. That's one reason this is only a "Technical Preview" for now & standardization of Path Tracing will require further optimizations down the road. According to Jakub, Ray Tracing in games has more importance in the development process than just looking good. For example, he states that Ray tracing is helping solve some major problems encountered in game development. While ray tracing addresses certain individual elements of the rendering pipeline such as fixing the shadows, the reflections, or the ambient occlusion. All those element layers are stuck up on top of each other while Path Tracing goes a different route & rather than having to do all those layers individually, it does them all at once in a single proper unified rendering pipeline. Compared to standard ray tracing implementations, the path-traced image is way more balanced, it's way more accurate and also more beautiful. The rendering is said to be similar to the rendering techniques used by animated films in the past which would take the game (Cyberpunk 2077) one step closer to photo-realism. Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive Mode PC Requirements As per CD Projekt Red, the NVIDIA RT Overdrive Mode for Cyberpunk 2077 is only supported by the following graphics cards: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series (RTX 4090/4080/4070 Ti) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series (RTX 3090Ti/3090 Only at 1080P/30FPS) If you don't have any of the said GPUs, the feature will be turned off by default as it requires a very high-end GPU due to its demanding nature. CD Projekt Red has also stated previously that the RT Overdrive mode is going to be hardware-agnostic which means that it won't require proprietary technology to run and gamers will be able to enjoy it on any graphics card out there, given that it has the processing and compute prowess to run Path Tracing at a stable frame rate. But it looks like the rest of the cards with at least 8 GB VRAM will only have the option to take screenshots with the path tracing renderer rather than playing the game in real time. The rationale given for this move is that it means rendering just one frame, as opposed to rendering several frames every second (i.e. FPS), which would happen when playing the game. The path weighs in at 19.6 GB for PC players. Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive Mode PC Performance Analysis In the brief time that we had benchmarking through the NVIDIA RT Overdrive mode, we noticed a big visual performance difference between the standard Ray Traced & the Path Traced renderer & as expected, the performance difference is just as big. You are not going to get a framerate above 30 FPS without using DLSS. Even a card such as the RTX 4090 can not run the game at 4K native res but at 1440P, 40-50 FPS is doable. DLSS 3 is more of a necessity when running RT Overdrive mode but it is been told that CD Projekt Red will continue working with NVIDIA to further optimize the performance of the RT Overdrive mode. Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive Mode Native 4K (RTX 4090): Cyberpunk 2077 Path 1.62 PC Path Notes Path Tracing: Technology Preview Added a Ray Tracing: Overdrive preset which includes the Path Tracing technology. You can enable the Ray Tracing: Overdrive preset in Settings > Graphics > Quick Preset, or just Path Tracing separately in Settings > Graphics in the Ray Tracing section. Additionally, we included an option to render path-traced screenshots in Photo Mode for other Ray-Tracing-capable graphics cards with at least 8GB VRAM. If your graphics card has more than 8GB VRAM and this option is still greyed out, it means you need to lower your in-game resolution. Note that the higher the resolution and the less powerful the GPU is, the longer it will take to take a screenshot (between a few seconds to several minutes). A new update for Hi-Fi Rush has now become available. This new update, dubbed Update 3, will let players deck out their characters with new costumes as well as have a more accessible experience in multiple fronts for players running through Vandalay on Easy and Normal modes. The update is now available for download across Xbox Series consoles and PC. That's why we came up with a system called ‘Characters in Gameplay,’ and it's featured in the trailer. It's really about experiencing how Cal and his companions — like Bode Akuna, like Merrin — fight side by side together, how they solve puzzles, and negotiate the different planets that they're traveling to. A lot of what we've shown so far, there's these cinematic flourishes, like take downs, that you see in regards to combat. The reference model which is known as the Founders Edition will utilize a more compact design in a dual-slot form factor with the same dual-fan flow-through design. While the reference models get a standard 16-pin power input, AIBs will be free to choose either a 16-pin or 8-pin connector on their non-reference cards. As for the design itself, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition looks like any other recent FE card that we have seen. The card will come with a very small PCB allowing the second fan at the front to blow air out of the die-cast aluminum heatsink. Users of the RTX 30 Founders Edition cards will recognize this design immediately. As for the display outputs, the card will get triple DP 1.4 and a single HDMI 2.1 port. It has been a debate since yesterday if the iPhone X will be compatible with iOS 17. While the final word rests with Apple, a new leak claims that iOS 17 Control Center will feature major changes on iPhone. EVO Japan is upon us, and Bandai Namco’s development team has been working hard developing new content for the upcoming Tekken 8. Earlier in the week, the team released a trailer for returning character Ling Xiaoyu, and there are not one but TWO character trailers today. Let’s break this news down as it's still fresh off the press. First off, and probably the more controversial of the two, is Leroy Smith, Tekken 7’s 10th DLC character, who makes his return as a base game character this time around. Something particularly notable is that he made it as a returning character before any of the base game newcomers last time around (Claudio Serafino, Shaheen, Gigas, to name a few). Leroy comes with a gameplay trailer, which you can view below. Leroy Smith maintains many of the Wing Chun attacks he sported in Tekken 7 and got a couple of newer tricks up his sleeve here. First off, he has more than one attack with his cane (though, it’s unclear if they’ll retain the once-per-match properties it had in 7), and several of his older attacks have more cinematic follow-ups. Leroy’s Rage Art, as well as his various Heat System attacks, were also on display here. Hopefully, Bandai Namco learns from the last time Leroy released and doesn’t absurdly outclass everyone on the roster immediately. Secondly, Tekken 8 sees Asuka Kazama added as a returning fighter. She’s been here since Tekken 5 and, except for the live-action movie appearances, has been in Tekken media ever since. Originally shown as a cousin to series regular Jin Kazama, she fights using Mishima Style traditional karate. Bandai Namco revealed her at EVO Japan earlier today, and you can watch her gameplay trailer below. Visual redesign aside, Asuka Kazama appears to have a follow-up system to several of her attacks in this game (a trait Claudio had in Tekken 7). Here, it either extends some moves or alters the properties of others. Asuka also retains a few of her defensive traits, including redirecting her opponent’s attacks. Her Rage Art and Heat System attacks were also put on display here, too. Leroy and Asuka bring the current roster to 12 characters, and Leroy’s presence alone makes it possible that characters from Tekken 7 may not be one-offs that disappear after a single game. However, it’s very possible that other DLC characters may make a return, but we’ll update once we know for sure. Tekken 8’s release date is currently not known, but it’s scheduled to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Rabat - A Moroccan citizen has been identified among the survivors of the tragic bus crash that claimed the lives of at least 21 pilgrims in Saudi Arabia on Monday. State-affiliated television channel in Saudi Arabia Al Ekhbariya reported the news, explaining that the Moroccan citizen was admitted to a hospital in the province of Asir, where the tragedy took place. “The Moroccan {citizen] expressed his gratitude to the Saudi authorities and the Emir of the province of Asir for the aid and assistance given to the injured in this accident,” the television channel reported. The Moroccan citizen will be discharged from the hospital today to return to Morocco on Thursday. The bus which was carrying pilgrims hit a bridge and overturned it then burst into flames killing at least 21 people. The tragedy comes amid Ramadan when Muslims from across the world travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah pilgrimage. Unlike Hajj pilgrimage, Umrah can be performed at any time of the year. Millions of Muslims prefer to perform the Islamic rituals of Umrah during Ramadan. Last week, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah urged pilgrims to limit the number of times they perform Umrah at once during Ramadan to avoid challenges, including crowds, and reduce the pushing of others. Last year, over four million performed Umrah in the first 20 days of Ramadan, according to Saudi Gazette.
