  1. At the end of last September we learned that Samsung was working on a new activity bracelet. The Korean manufacturer is already putting the finishing touches on its next Samsung Galaxy Fit 3, and now we know more details about it.All thanks to a leak from Windowsreport , where we can see the incredible design that Samsung's new smartband will have. And be careful, there are some very notable surprises. Especially its screen. As you will see in the different images that accompany these lines, Samsung has opted for an activity bracelet with a noticeably larger screen , as well as features beyond any doubt. Design and features of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 Let us remember that the Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 had a 1.1-inch AMOLED screen . But seeing that its successor will have a noticeably larger panel, everything indicates that the manufacturer will make a very big leap, with an AMOLED screen that could reach 2 inches. It is not clear from the images, but surely the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 allows the straps to be exchanged, as was the case with its predecessor, to give a personal touch to this gadget. Continuing with the design of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3, we see that different sensors are located on the back, including a heart rate monitor. Something common in this type of device, so the next Samsung activity bracelet will be your best companion when doing all kinds of sports. And what do we know about the technical characteristics it will have? Well, the truth is that it is a complete mystery. But we can speculate, taking into account the data of its predecessor. For example, the Galaxy Fit 2 offered up to 15 days of autonomy, so the new model surely has a similar battery And taking into account that three years have passed, we can find two situations: that Samsung launches a new model with GPS at a price of 99 euros, or that the Samsung Galaxy Fit dispenses with this element in exchange for coming out at a price that can compete. one to one with the Xiaomi SmartBand 8. Without a doubt, both options sound very appealing. Furthermore, its launch seems to be just around the corner. Everything indicates that Samsung could present it in January 2024 , even at the end of the year to take advantage of Christmas sales. But, until the manufacturer confirms it, we cannot confirm anything. .. https://cincodias.elpais.com/cincodias/2023/11/10/gadgets/1699618903_706913.html
  2. .Microsoft will allow of its operating system to eliminate applications that are installed by default with Windows 11, such as Camera, Cortana or Remote Desktop. The technology company has provided the developers of the Insider program with pre-build 23585 for Windows 11 , which corrects the problems that affected explorer.exe, the file explorer and the taskbar. The pre-build also includes the crop tool update, which improves compatibility with displays with high dynamic range (HDR) technology, and a change that affects the system in general: the ability to remove pre-installed 'apps', such as reports on the Windows Insider blog .Windows 11, when installed for the first time on a computer, arrives with a series of Microsoft's own applications that the user cannot uninstall. This is the case of the Camera, Cortana, Photos, People and Remote Desktop 'apps'. Specifically, Microsoft has announced that it will be possible to uninstall the clients of these applications with the future Windows 11 update.. https://www.europapress.es/portaltic/software/noticia-microsoft-permitira-eliminar-apps-preinstaladas-windows-11-20231110125456.html
  3. Owners of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs are still prone to "12VHPWR" connector issues which include melting and burns, reports NorthridgeFix. Famous Repairing Channel Discloses Large Volumes NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs Still A Victim To "12VHPWR" Connector Issues The history of the GeForce RTX 4090 and its troublesome 12VHPWR connector began as soon as the card was launched. We saw our first report which followed up with more cases which ultimately led to PCI-SIG issuing a design-change notification and NVIDIA stating that the problem is nothing more than a "User-Error".Despite a year of being in global markets, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs are still susceptible to "troublesome" 12VHPWR connector melting/burning issues, and NorthridgeFix has disclosed that they still get "20 to 25 graphics cards per week" which is a shocking amount. Moreover, the repairman also revealed that he had bought a "dedicated respirator mask" when he does the repairing, to avoid potential health risks due to the burning smell and exposure since he has to deal with many similar cases and soldering them all day can lead to toxic hazard in his shop. We get them in so much that I bought myself this Hiroshima mask, so I do not have to smell the burn on those conductors. It smells like fireworks times ten. It cannot be healthy to keep smelling burnt connectors. - Northridge Fix The rest of the video involves him describing bits of the repairing process, but nothing worthwhile to mention except the huge "volumes" of GPUs being a victim of the 12VHPWR power connector. Furthermore, the problem isn't limited to a certain vendor/model, since he revealed that models from ASUS, MSI, ZOTAC, and Gigabyte were all affected by the problem. Hence, you shouldn't be worried about a particular model, rather we advise you to adhere to certain precautions. We have a handy guide on how to make sure that you have connected the 12VHPWR cable connector over here. A common reason why consumers are facing the problem in the first place is that the power connectors are not fully plugged into the graphics card, which results in a poor contact force resulting in disruptions within the power delivery process. While the adoption of the 12VHPWR standard was huge with the release of Ada GPUs, it looks like firms have developed more "reliable" alternatives, with the prominent one being the 12V-2x6 power connector. This connector is already being used with the latest production batch and on the newer cards such as the RTX 4070. Even a few RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 GPUs have been seen with these plugs. However, the vast majority of GeForce RTX 4090 cards still use the older design so it requires extra precaution and handling. We have seen adapters and angled connectors also being prone to burn and melting issues though companies such as Cablemod have issued a fix which seems to be doing well for now. As for the reports, we already had insight from the Asian market where you would see burnt or melted connectors on the RTX 4090 on a daily basis. It looks like users with a burned NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card have no other way than to get their cards fixed from a reputed hardware repair shop otherwise they'll end up with a very expensive paperweight . https://wccftech.com/hundreds-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-gpus-still-prone-to-12vhpwr-connector-issues/
  4. The PlayStation 5 Slim detachable disc drive could become unusable in the future once the online services used to register the drive will no longer be available in the event of a console reset. As reported by Does It Play? on X/Twitter, resetting the console will also unregister the drive, meaning that the user will have to register it again online to use it. While this is expected from a full reset, given how online services aren't eternal, if things will remain the same, the detachable disc drive will eventually become unusable. According to other unverified reports, the internal disc drive also seems to suffer from the same issue. This is definitely bad news for preservation, so hopefully, Sony will address the matter in the future, considering the PlayStation 5 Slim will eventually replace the original model released in late 2020. Alongside supporting the detachable disc drive, the new console revision has some improvements over the original modes, such as a 1 TB SSD, providing slightly more storage space, and two USB Type-C ports. The PlayStation 5 Slim started rolling out worldwide this month. A few bundles, such as a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 bundle, will also become available this month. https://wccftech.com/playstation-5-slim-detachable-drive-unusable/

  6. The Day Before, the open-world survival MMO developed by FNTASTIC, is launching in early access next month, and the PC system requirements were finally revealed today. Surprisingly enough, for a game powered by Unreal Engine 5, the MMO doesn't seem to require an extremely powerful system to run properly, as an Intel i5-8400 CPU and NVIDIA GTX 1060 will be enough to run the game at minimum settings. What's somewhat curious is how the system requirements feel almost incomplete, as they make no mention of any specific minimum and recommended AMD CPUs and GPUs, essentially asking users to research for themselves the equivalents for the Intel and NVIDIA requirements.MINIMUM: OS: 64-bit Windows 10 Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD equivalent Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent DirectX: Version 12 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 55 GB available space Additional Notes: SSD (Preferred), HDD (Supported), Low Quality Settings RECOMMENDED: OS: 64-bit Windows 10 Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2Ghz) or AMD equivalent Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti or AMD equivalent DirectX: Version 12 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 55 GB available space Additional Notes: SSD, High Quality Settings The Day Before launches on Steam as an Early Access title next month, on December 7th... https://wccftech.com/the-day-before-system-requirements-amd/
  7. https://i.postimg.cc/0N6PrP1v/1699435292-623493-1699435402-noticia-normal.jpg In a recent update to a support document, Apple revealed that the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M3 chips can fast charge at 140W via a 240W USB Type-C cable . This news represents an advance in the charging capacity of these powerful devices and gives owners of the Cupertino company's laptops more options when it comes to charging their equipment. The 2021 and 2022 16-inch MacBook Pros with M-series chips were limited in everything to do with charging using the direct to MagSafe 3 cable that Apple provided. This is due to the limitations of the ports of the firm's equipment, which could only offer up to 100W. However, the 2023 16-inch MacBook Pro can charge at the full speed of 140W directly from the USB Type-C port when using a 140W or higher power adapter paired with a 240W cable (such as , which Apple started selling in September). A speed in MacBook Pro exclusive to 16 inches It is important to note that this update only applies to the 16-inch models, since the fourteen-inch models can carry out processes with a maximum 96W charger (that is, what the older models already used). Therefore, the profit is not present in the entire product range. The ability to quickly charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chip at 140W via USB Type-C gives laptop owners more options when it comes to topping up the battery, which is especially useful for those who require a Fast charging in times of trouble - or to keep your productivity uninterrupted. However, it is important to note that 240W cables are limited to USB 2.0 data transfer speeds , meaning their data transfer capacity is lower compared to higher speed cables. This may not be a problem for those looking for fast charging, but it is important to consider for those who also want faster data transfer.Good news from Apple This update demonstrates Apple 's commitment to constantly improving its products and services to provide users with a smoother and more convenient experience. The 140W fast charging capability offers an efficient solution for users who require fast and reliable charging for their 16-inch MacBook ProIn short, owners of the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M3 chips can now enjoy 140W fast charging via USB Type-C - not exclusively with MagSafe‌ - when using a power adapter of the same power or top and a cable that allows reaching 240W... https://cincodias.elpais.com/cincodias/2023/11/08/gadgets/1699435292_623493.html

  9. NVIDIA doesn't seem to be giving up on its huge AI market potential in the Chinese market as the company is reportedly making even more Hopper GPUs that bypass the US restrictions. NVIDIA H20, L20 & L2 Are The New AI GPUs On The Block For Chinese Markets According to the latest report by Dylan Patel of Semianalysis, it looks like NVIDIA has plans to launch at least three new AI GPUs for the Chinese market which include the H20 SXM, PCIe L20, and the PCIe L2. All of these chips are based on the Hopper GPU architecture and will feature a maximum theoretical performance of 296 TFLOPs.The exact specifications of these GPU configurations of these chips aren't known yet but the Hopper H20 SMX features 96 GB memory capacities operating at up to 4.0 Tb/s, 296 TFLOPs Compute power, and using the GH100 die with a performance density of 2.9 TFLOPs/die versus H100's 19.4. The H100 SXM is 6.68x faster than the H20 SXM as per the listed table but those are FP16 Tensor Core FLOPs (with Sparsity) and not the INT8 or FP8 FLOPs. The GPU has a 400W TDP and features 8-Way configurations in an HGX solution. It retains the 900 GB/s NVLINK connection & also offers 7-Way MIG (Multi-Instance GPU) functionality. The NVIDIA L20 comes with 48 GB of memory and a peak of 239 TFLOPs of compute performance while the L2 is configured with 24 GB of memory and a peak of 193 TFLOPs of compute power. The GPUs come in PCIe form factors making them a viable solution for office-based workstations and servers. These are much more cut-down configurations than what the Chinese customers were getting before in the form of the H800 and A800 but it looks like the NVIDIA software stack for AI and HPC is just too valuable to give up for some of these customers and they will be willing to take the reduced specs in order to get access to these modern Hopper architectures. NVIDIA H100 SXM TF16 (Sparsity) FLOPS = 1979 NVIDIA H20 SXM TF16 (Sparsity) FLOPS = 296L40 TF16 (Sparsity) FLOPs = 362 L20 TF16 (Sparsity) FLOPs = 239 L4 TF16 (Sparsity) FLOPs = 242 L2 TF16 (Sparsity) FLOPs = 193 Also, while they are cut down from a traditional compute point of view, the report states that in LLM inferencing, the H20 SXM will actually be faster than the H100 since it shares similarities to next year's H200. This would suggest that at least one part of the GPU isn't that cut down versus the rest of the chip. The NVIDIA HGX H20 SXM chip and the L20 PCIe GPU are expected to launch by December 2023 while the L2 PCIe accelerator will be available in January 2024. Product sampling is going to commence one month earlier than release. Furthermore, one of the China specific GPUs is over 20% faster than the H100 in LLM inference, and is more similar to the new GPU that Nvidia is launching early next year than to the H100!NVIDIA knows the potential that some of these competing companies hold and will try to support its Chinese customer base as much as possible while conforming to US regulations. The company also has a massive demand for AI across the globe and despite a recent cancellation of $5 Billion US worth of orders, the green team will just reallocate its supply elsewhere so that customers who previously had to wait more than a year to get hands-on GPUs can now get their hands on NVIDIA's AI gold early... https://wccftech.com/nvidia-preps-more-hopper-ai-gpus-for-chinese-market-to-bypass-us-restrictions/
  10. NVIDIA's crypto-oriented CMP 50HX GPU just got converted into a gaming card but the performance ain't that great. Limited PCIe Lanes & Lack of Driver Support Makes NVIDIA's CMP "Crypto" GPUs Unfit For Gaming The NVIDIA CMP lineup was unveiled in 2021 when crypto-mining was at its height. NVIDIA saw an opportunity to offer a crippled variant, which was targeted at consumers who didn't want much out of their GPU except for its mining performance. So while the lineup did offer decent results for its desired application, converting it for gaming is a totally different situation.YouTuber, Sfdx Show made the conversion, and the variant used here was MSI's NVIDIA CMP 50HX. Speaking of specifications, the GPU employs 3,584 CUDA cores and 10 GB of GDDR6 memory. The memory operates at a speed of 14 Gbps with a 320-bit memory interface, which puts its specs on a similar level to NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, the Turing flagship.Using the CMP 50HX for gaming might sound easy, but it is a difficult job to do mainly because the GPU features a unique BIOS along with no presence of a display connector. If you manage to somehow run it, the next big hurdle is the GPU's driver.Since the NVIDIA CMP GPUs weren't gaming-oriented, there were no sort of drivers available for them to run games. The only way anyone can integrate it is by utilizing an older version of a particular driver, along with using a Windows that doesn't perform driver validation, and with this, you can use "unofficial" drivers for the GPU. However, it is important to note that such workarounds do result in significantly downgraded performance, hence in any case, we advise not to opt for such methods, since ultimately it would result in an inferior output. When NVIDIA introduced its CMP lineup, the company was so busy with the "crypto hype" that it didn't even try to explore any other use cases of the GPUs. Moreover, the limitations placed in terms of PCIe lanes and driver support make things more difficult, since in no way the GPU can be tuned for any application other than mining. But since the crypto hype ended, NVIDIA shifted its focus towards AI and now we see consumer-level GPUs being used by data centers, AI, and also workstations. Will we get to see AI-specific GPUs such as the PCIe H100/H800 or A100/A800 running games too? Only time will tell.. https://wccftech.com/youtuber-shows-why-gaming-on-a-nvidia-crypto-mining-cmp-gpu-is-a-bad-idea/
  11. Google is working on a new feature for Gboard that will allow users to scan text and copy it into an editing document or another application without having to type it again; a feature already existing in Google Lens.Specifically, the company has begun to implement a button with the indication 'Scan text', which is located next to the 'Translate' and 'Review' options on the keyboard, as 9to5Google has warned in the latest Gboard APK . To use this new functionality, however, the portal clarifies that the corresponding permission must be granted so that Gboard can access the camera. Once it has been enabled, the main interface of the application - on this website they say, for example, the Notes 'app' - will be divided into two halves, with the lower one acting as a scanner to direct the camera towards the text entry that you want to scan. After scanning that writing, it will be displayed at the bottom of the Gboard interface and, if you want to copy it to a document or another application, you must click on the 'Insert' button, according to the screenshots you have shared, which show a similar operation to the 'Text' function of Lens. From 9to5Google they have clarified that this feature can be enabled with the latest beta version (13.6) of Gboard for devices with Android operating system and that it has not yet been implemented to all users. https://www.europapress.es/portaltic/software/noticia-google-gboard-contara-funcion-similar-lens-escanear-texto-copiarlo-documentos-aplicaciones-20231103161054.html
  12. ASRock has been updating its Z790 motherboard lineup with a range of fresh new options. We recently covered the Z790 Taichi LITE which offers the same Taichi specs at a lower price point, along with all the goodies you'd expect from a top-end motherboard and now the company has launched its brand new Phantom Gaming flagship, the Z790 PG Nova, which aims to excel as a high-end motherboard with a good price proposition. The Phantom Gaming NOVA is equipped with all the latest features that you'd expect from a 2023 motherboard such as WIFI 7, 14th Gen CPU support, and the gaming aesthetics that the PG brand is known for. So without further ado, let's see what the Nova can do and what it has to offer for the gaming masses. The LGA 1700 (V0) socket not only has an asymmetrical design but also comes with a lower Z-stack height. This means that proper mounting pressure is needed to make full contact with the Intel Alder Lake IHS. Certain cooler manufacturers have already been using larger cold plates for Ryzen and Threadripper CPUs to make proper contact with the IHS but these are mostly higher-end and new cooling designs. Those who are still running older AIOs with round cold plates could have trouble maintaining the required pressure distribution which could lead to inadequate cooling performance... https://wccftech.com/review/asrock-z790-phantom-gaming-nova-motherboard-review-a-well-priced-high-end-board/

Yes, it is true that it is excellent news that Apple is going to launch a version of its most premium headphones with a USB Type C port. But that they are not going to add any type of improvement is quite disappointing. Let us remember that the AirPods Max boast a 40 mm dynamic diaphragm, with a large diameter voice coil, in addition to active noise cancellation, ambient mode, spatial audio, sweat resistance through an IPX4 certificate, along with an autonomy of Up to 20 hours with noise cancellation activated. Not to mention its premium design, since the AirPods Max are made of high-quality materials, such as anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and synthetic leather. We highly doubt it. https://cincodias.elpais.com/cincodias/2023/10/30/gadgets/1698670440_830646.html
  14. Samsung has presented the new ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace technology for its 200MP lens , with which, together with Qualcomm's Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine, it allows users to carry out automatic tracking recording of a subject , even in motion , as well as a simultaneous recording with 4K resolution of the entire scene and a specific area of said space. The Korean technology company has shared its intention to take the videographic experience with its 200MP image sensor "to the next level." Specifically, in relation to video recording, offering users a better experience to record in detail and, at the same time, continue enjoying the scene in person . To do this, it has developed a system that is based on the Qualcomm AI engine , which the American company has implemented in its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor , presented last week. Thus, as Samsung has explained on its website, together with Qualcomm, ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace technology is capable of quickly tracking a main subject during video recording and, even if it moves quickly, automatically follow it to center the scene. in said subject. In this way, Samsung aims to make it easier for users to record on the move, since, until now, they had to focus on a subject when recording a video and follow it manually causing a lot of movement on the screen. Now, this technology does it automatically and allows the user to focus on viewing the moment they are recording. Additionally, the ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace system also includes a dual recording function. This mode allows you to record the entire scene and, in turn, a specific area of that space at the same time. That is, it allows you to zoom in on a specific surface in the video "without compromising the rest of the frame." "ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace is capable of simultaneously recording not only an enlarged area, but an entire frame," Samsung explained. Likewise, both recordings are carried out in high resolution up to 4K and allow users to enhance their creativity, providing multiple options when recording. In fact, this technology supports zooming in or out in any direction . For example, if a subject is at the edge of the screen, you can zoom in to record it up close "without changing the shooting angle" of the entire space being recorded. As for the zoom integrated into the Tetra-pixel sensor , the company has detailed that the area selected to record more closely is chosen from all the space that is being recorded and "re-adjusted." In this way, it manages to maintain the original resolution of 12.5MP and allows higher quality images to be displayed. Specifically, the 200MP wide-angle sensor allows the user to zoom X2 and X4 "without loss of quality or angle changes." With all this, Samsung claims to offer "a realistic filming experience."On the other hand, Samsung has also highlighted that, with its End-to-End (E2E) AI Remosaic technology , image processing time is reduced and video display quality is improved . With this format in question, the company has changed the video data output process from sequential to parallel... https://www.europapress.es/portaltic/software/noticia-samsung-presenta-tecnologia-isocell-zoom-anyplace-grabacion-seguimiento-automatico-sujeto-20231030155532.html

The thinner laptop, as the name suggests, was just 15mm thick while the 80W variant had a thickness of 16.8mm.The performance of both chips was evaluated in various benchmarks such as Cinebench 2024, Geekbench 6, 3DMark Wildlife Extreme, Aztec Ruins, and UL Procyon AI. Both 28W and 80W CPU variants of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite series were tested against a range of chips from Apple, Intel, and AMD. The competitor results are at their maximum achievable performance using unconstrained power limits. The platforms included: Intel - Core i7-13800H (14-Core CPU @115W) Razer Blade 15 2023 AMD - Ryzen 9 7940HS (8-Core APU @80W) ROG Zephtrus G14 2023 Apple - M2 (8/10C) MacBook Pro 13" 2022 The benchmarks can be seen below: CPU Benchmarks (Cinebench 2024 ST)In Cinebench 2024, the Snapdragon X Elite CPU with its Oryon core architecture is said to offer up to 20% higher single-core and twice the multi-threaded performance of the competition. Doing a breakdown, the 80W chip is 9% faster than the Apple M2, 15% faster than the i7-13800H, and 21% faster than the Ryzen 9 7940HS chip while the 28W X Elite CPU is 1%, 6%, and 12% faster than the same chips, respectively. Looking at multi-threaded scores, the X Elite 80W laptop is 22% faster than Intel, 25% faster than AMD, 28% faster than the 28W chip, and over 2x faster than the Apple M2 CPU. Similarly, the 28W configuration is neck to neck with the much higher wattage Apple and Intel counterparts and 66% faster than the Apple M2.Lastly, we have the UL Procyon AI benchmark which evaluates the inference performance of CPU, GPU, and dedicated neural engines. Apple is left out of this benchmark while the X Elite CPUs are shown to be over 10x faster than the competition. AMD Ryzen CPUs feature a dedicated AI engine known as Ryzen AI and should prove to be a challenger to the neural AI capabilities on X Elite chips though the proper real-world application needs to be used. The Qualcomm X Elite CPUs with Oryon cores are planned for launch by the middle of 2024 and the company will also be sharing more details in the future. By the time these chips do launch, Intel will have its Meteor Lake (1st Gen Core Ultra) and AMD will have its Strix Point (Ryzen 8000) CPUs out in the market so the competition is going to be really heated in the consumer space. . https://wccftech.com/qualcomm-unveils-more-snapdragon-x-elite-pc-cpu-benchmarks-23w-80w-reference-laptops-tested/
  16. Apple plans to announce new versions of its po[CENSORED]r Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories for Mac at its Scary Fast event on October 30 , according to a report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman . The most notable novelty will be that these accessories will come equipped with USB Type C ports instead of Lightning for charging. These accessories will likely be introduced alongside an update to the 24-inch iMac with an M3 chip, also expected at the event. Although it's not yet clear if these accessories will have any significant changes to their design, as their appearance has largely remained the same since their last major update in October 2015. Still, over the years, there have been some Minor revisions, such as the use of braided cables and additional color options that are only available with the 24-inch iMac. Possible changes to the Apple Magic Mouse One of the least liked aspects of the Magic Mouse to date has been the location of the Lightning port on the bottom of the mouse - it has even been a source of ridicule in the Apple community for years, since it prevents the use of the mouse while charging. With the migration to USB ports in the new version, hopefully this is something that will change so that the functionality of the accessory is the best possible at all times. It is important to mention that the four new iPhone 15 models come equipped with USB Type C ports instead of Lightning. In addition, the latest Siri Remote for Apple TV also has this connection interface - and Apple discontinued the MagSafe Battery Pack and the MagSafe Duo Charger with Lightning ports. Therefore, it is completely logical that we want to standardize the use of these ports. A more loaded event than expected This event could bring many surprises beyond Magic accessories, and Mac users and Apple fans will be eager to see what innovations the company has in store. The adoption of the USB type C interface as a standard will be one of the predominant notes, and this is something that can make life easier for users who use multiple devices with different types of port, since we are talking about a connection that is practically universal .The Apple event scheduled for October 30 will begin at the unusual 5 pm Pacific time (which means in Spain it will be one in the morning ), so make sure to mark your calendar correctly so you don't miss the news . https://cincodias.elpais.com/cincodias/2023/10/27/gadgets/1698420207_334942.html

  18. Capcom has revealed that its developers working on the current and next-gen RE Engine are using high-end PCs equipped with NVIDIA's RTX 4090 GPUs and AMD Threadripper PRO CPUs. RE Engine Devs Are Harnessing The Power of AMD's Threadripper PRO CPUs & NVIDIA's RTX 4090 GPUs To Deliver The Next-Gen Capcom ExperiencesIn an overview of the RE Engine, the Capcom developers have shared the systems that are helping them create next-gen gaming experiences. In 2023, the company is introducing new high-end PCs for engine developers which feature some really high-end specifications. The systems feature top-tier NVIDIA and AMD hardware which has led to a significant reduction in engine build time. It is said that prior to these upgrades, distributed builds took 15 minutes to complete but now you can complete a build locally in less than 5 minutes. The system specifications include an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX CPU which offers 32 cores and 64 threads with large pools of cache, 146 MB to be exact. The chip runs at up to 4.5 GHz and while it may not be the newest Threadripper 7000 chip, it still packs a whole lot of multi-thread performance which is vital for building engine and game assets. For the GPU, Capcom's developers have chosen NVIDIA's top GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs which offer 24 GB of GDDR6X memory and the power of Ada Lovelace which is currently the fastest GPU on the market. There's also 256 GB of DDR4 memory and 10 TB of SSD for each system. The SSD has some major benefits as it provides speedy access across all project assets since they can be retained on such a high-capacity drive. These resources will work in tandem with the development of Capcom's next-gen REX engine which has now been teased and is going to leverage various technologies including mesh shaders. Follow our coverage of REX Engine in detail over here. Mesh Shaders have been a point of discussion for the past few days as it was a requirement for running Remendy's recently released Alan Wake 2 & also meant that older GPUs such as GTX 10 & RX 5000 series might have a hard time running the game however they aren't entirely blocked from running the game. You can still run the game on the older cards that don't support mesh shaders, the only issue is that the performance won't be optimal. So it looks like Capcom's next-gen REX engine will also run better on newer hardware that supports Mesh Shaders. Capcom's recent titles have been very well optimized on the PC platform so we can expect the company to retain the polished nature of its game throughout all platforms including PC. https://wccftech.com/capcom-re-engine-devs-use-high-end-pcs-with-nvidia-rtx-4090-gpus-amd-threadripper-cpus/
  19. A High Court judge has ruled doctors can lawfully limit life-support treatment for Indi Gregory, who has mitochondrial disease By Dan Martin & PA Media BBC News European judges have rejected a bid by the parents of a critically ill baby to have her life-support treatment continued. Earlier this month, a High Court judge ruled doctors could withdraw support for Indi Gregory, who has mitochondrial disease, against her parents' wishes. They challenged the ruling but their case was dismissed by Court of Appeal judges on Monday. Now an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has failed. Indi's parents Dean Gregory and Claire Staniforth - from Ilkeston in Derbyshire - are being supported by the Christian Legal Centre (CLC), which said they had asked a European judge to "prohibit" the withdrawal of "life-sustaining treatment" until the ECHR had considered the case. However, in a document seen by the BBC, the ECHR said it would not prohibit the withdrawal of life support and its decision could not be appealed against. After Monday's hearing, father Dean Gregory said "we will continue to fight for Indi" In a statement issued by the CLC, Mr Gregory said: "As a father and parent, I was willing to do everything I could to save my daughter's life from inhumane decisions and people trying to play god. "To us she is everything and we will do everything we can to help until the end as it is our duty as parents to protect her." Mitochondrial disease prevents cells in the body producing energy and the NHS says the condition is incurable. Medics at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre have said they can do no more for Indi. Barrister Emma Sutton KC, who led Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust's legal team, previously said the treatment Indi received caused pain and was futile... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-derbyshire-67225123
  20. Snowy got her nickname because of a white patch on her dorsal fin A minke whale nicknamed Snowy has set a European record for the number of years she has been seen. The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) said the whale has been visiting the Hebrides, islands off Scotland's west coast, for 27 years. HWDT said this meant Snowy, named because of a white patch on her dorsal fin, had the longest-known history of sightings for the species in Europe. Minke are a medium-sized whale that feed on small fish. The whales can grow to 9m (29ft) and live for up to 50 years.Minke whale feed on small fish and most UK sights are made from Scotland Minke whale IMAGE SOURCE,HWDT Image caption, Minke whale can live for up to 50 years HWDT monitors whales, dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks off the Scottish west coast. It has published a new digital catalogue of minke whale sightings, including photographs, from over the last 30 years. HWDT said the record showed that more than 300 individual minke whales have been identified in the Hebrides since 1990. It added that a third, 33%, have been seen more than once - some over many years and others numerous times. HWDT said a whale nicknamed Knobble held the title for the most frequently recorded minke in the Hebrides, having been spotted more than 60 times since 2002, mostly in waters around Mull. The charity said Knobble's nickname was due to a "knobbly nubbin" on top of his dorsal fin... https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-67217959
  21. Some 1.4 million people have fled their homes across the Gaza Strip, with 600,000 sheltering in UN facilities By David Gritten BBC News UN aid agencies say they have begun to significantly reduce their operations in the Gaza Strip because they have almost exhausted their fuel reserves. Small quantities of fuel retrieved from existing reserves are being used to maintain the water supply in the south, where hundreds of thousands of people are sheltering from Israeli strikes. However, they will run out on Thursday. The agencies say they have reduced their support for overwhelmed hospitals and bakeries feeding the displaced. "What we are seeing in the Gaza Strip is unprecedented," Juliette Touma of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, told the BBC. "Two million people are being strangled. Gaza is being choked with very, very little assistance that is coming from outside." Israel began its bombing campaign in Gaza, cut off electricity and most water, and stopped imports of food, fuel and other goods in retaliation for a cross-border attack by Hamas on 7 October, in which at least 1,400 people were killed and 224 taken hostage. Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry says 7,000 people have been killed in the territory since then and that its health system is facing total collapse, with a third of hospitals not functioning and the rest only treating emergency cases.Watch: Fergal Keane reports on the 'carnage' emergency services are facing in Gaza At least 74 lorries carrying food, water and medical supplies have crossed from Egypt via the Rafah border crossing since Saturday, which Ms Touma called "a drop in the ocean of overwhelming needs". About 500 lorries were allowed into Gaza every day before the start of the war. Israel refuses to allow deliveries of fuel because it says it could be used for military purposes by Hamas, which it classes as a terrorist organisation - as do the UK, US and other powers. But Ms Touma said Unrwa urgently needed fuel if it was to continue to serve as a lifeline for the 629,000 displaced people taking refuge inside its facilities. Most fled homes in the north of Gaza after being told by the Israeli military to leave for their own safety. "We're the largest humanitarian organisation and we are on the verge of stopping operations. We are being banned from undertaking the mandate that was entrusted to us by the UN General Assembly. All we're asking to do is to be able to do our work," she added. Dr Abdelkader Hammad, a surgeon at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in the UK who arrived in Gaza to carry out transplants the day before the war began, is sheltering at a UN facility in the southern city of Rafah. "The situation on the ground is deteriorating day by day," he told the BBC. "People are fighting for the water, for the food, because of the shortages. Whatever they have in the stores is running out now. People are queuing for hours and hours to get some bread from the bakeries which are still working." He also expressed alarm about the conditions at the hospitals where he usually performs operations, saying that his colleagues working at them were describing a "medical disaster". "Theatres are full of wounded people. They have to make very difficult decisions about who they treat because they cannot cope with the sheer number of [wounded] people coming," he said. "They are running out of medical equipment. The fuel is running out.".. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67227534
