  7. Honor Pad 8 tablet was launched at an event in China on Friday. The event also saw Honor unveiling a new Magicbook 14 laptop with 6000H chips, Earbuds X3 with active noise cancellation and a less expensive X3i model without ANC, five TVs, and an intelligent neck massager. The 14-inch screen on the Honor Magicbook 14 features a 3:2 aspect ratio and a QHD+ resolution. It boasts 185 ppi, 170 degrees of view, and 300 nits of brightness. A Ryzen 5 6600H or a Ryzen 7 6800H APU can be used as the APU; however, discrete GPU choices are not available. Windows 11, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 75Wh battery are included in the device. Prices for the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 versions are CNY 5,199 (roughly Rs. 61,492) and CNY 5,699 (roughly Rs. 67,400), respectively. The Earbuds X3 and Earbuds X3i are the names of the new TWS audio wearables, with the former having active noise cancellation (ANC). Honor does not provide many details regarding these gadgets. However, the Earbud X3 are a somewhat less expensive version of the Earbuds 3 Pro that we previously evaluated, and the X3i, which costs CNY 129 (roughly Rs. 1,500), is simply a low-end audio accessory. The latest Honor TVs had the model number X3 as well. There are two Honor Smart TV models: the X3 (55" and 65") and the X3i (55", 65", and 75"), the latter of which has fewer intelligent features. Prices start at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 20,000). Priced at CNY 179 (roughly Rs. 2,000), the Honor Smart Neck Massager has pre-set modes that can be changed via Honor's AI app. All smartphones are already available via partner shops like JD.com, Tmall.com, and Suning as well as on the Honor website. https://gadgets360.com/laptops/news/honor-magicbook-14-ryzen-edition-earbuds-x3-x3i-price-cny-5199-129-launched-china-3187090
  8. Honor rather quietly introduced the Honor X8 5G smartphone, which is supposed to be the 5G version of the already released Honor X8 from March this year. However, there's more to it than just added support for 5G connectivity. For starters, the new X8 5G has a smaller 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with 720 x 1600px resolution. The Snapdragon 680 SoC has been swapped out for a Snapdragon 480+, which strangely is a more powerful alternative, despite its older manufacturing process and lower clock speeds. Memory options are limited to just one - 6GB/128GB. Honor had to cut some corners to retain the price, though, so the main 64MP camera has been replaced with a 48MP f/1.8 and gone is the 5MP ultrawide shooter. Now the X8 5G has just a 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie has also been downgraded to 8MP f/2.0. A 5,000 mAh battery keeps the lights on, supporting up to 22.5W fast charging, while available colors are Ocean Blue and Midnight Black. Sadly, there's no info on pricing and availability at the moment. https://www.gsmarena.com/honor_x8_5g_announced_with_sd_480_and_48mp_main_camera-news-55167.php
  9. The PS5 price, preorder date, and release date are the three details hardcore PlayStation fans want to know most, but Sony isn’t ready to share them anytime soon. One of France’s biggest retailers has mistakenly posted pricing details for both PlayStation 5 models and all the PS5 accessories that Sony has unveiled so far. The prices indicate the PS5 Digital Edition will be €100 cheaper than the regular model, but it’s not clear if the leaked prices are accurate or merely placeholders. How much will the PS5 and Xbox Series X cost? These are the most important details for gamers going into this year’s holiday season. The price will make or break the new consoles, especially during the novel coronavirus pandemic while money is tight for many people. The health crisis may hurt Sony in Microsoft in two different ways. First of all, manufacturing could always be delayed by COVID-19 outbreaks. Secondly, the economic crisis that the pandemic caused will obviously impact PlayStation and Xbox sales to some degree. The PS5 and Xbox Series X will both offer massive performance gains compared to their predecessors, so it’s only logical to assume they’d cost more than the previous consoles. The new gaming rigs feature custom processors and storage solutions that will unleash faster data speeds and better graphics than ever before. Those parts do not come cheap, and gamers can’t expect the PS5 and Xbox Series to be as affordable as the previous generations are right now. Neither Sony nor Microsoft seems willing to be the first company to announce pricing details, but a new leak from France lists may have just spoiled things for the PS5. Carrefour is one of the biggest retail chains in France, and the company has stores all over the European Union. Carrefour will take preorders for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X soon, according to a preorder page on its website. But Carrefour also briefly listed all the PS5 products Sony unveiled a few weeks ago, complete with pricing details. French blog PhonAndroid captured the screenshot below, complete with pricing details, before the page was taken down. The haste with which these listings were removed could be a sign that they’re actual retail prices and not just placeholders. The PS5 Digital Edition is priced at €399 while the regular PS5 model costs €499, according to this leak. These prices are in line with what some of the PS5 pricing rumors have said. The regular PS5 would cost $100 or €100 more than the disc-less model, depending on the region. If these prices are real and not placeholders, we’ll remind you they include VAT, so a direct conversion to dollars isn’t relevant. Sony’s PS4 pricing structure would be more helpful at pointing us in the right direction when it comes to US pricing. The PlayStation 4’s launch prices were $399 (US), €399 (EU), and £349 (UK). If Carrefour’s data is accurate, then the PS5 digital edition could cost $399 at launch, and the regular model would have an initial price of $499. What’s confusing is the pricing structure for the PS5 accessories. All of them are listed at €49.90, which seems highly unlikely. While that seems to be a reasonable price for the new DualSense controller, some of the other accessories should be cheaper than that. Carrefour removed all the prices from its site once users found the information. The Series X pricing structure hasn’t leaked, although the French retailer will offer both consoles for preorder “soon.” https://bgr.com/tech/ps5-price-leak-french-retailer-5861308/
  10. After decades of bordering on extinction, a new IUCN count says tiger po[CENSORED]tions are gaining stability and could recover. Until the 21st century, the world's tiger po[CENSORED]tion had fallen by as much as a dramatic 93%. Reports from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) held out little hope for these big cats, which had been illegally hunted almost to extinction for their fur and organs. THE COUNTRIES OF MOST CONCERN WERE INDIA, NEPAL, BHUTAN, RUSSIA AND CHINA. HOWEVER, THE COUNT REVEALED THAT THERE ARE 40% MORE SPECIES IN THESE TERRITORIES THAN PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT. In 2015, the organization conducted the last census of tigers in the world. At that time, it was estimated that just over 3,700 individuals were left alive in the wild. More than five years after the IUCN calculated this figure, a new count ensures that there are around 5,578 wild tigers. We suggest: The plan of Australian scientists to return the Tasmanian tiger from extinction looking for stability As one of the largest cats on the planet, tigers "are found in incredibly diverse habitats: rainforests, grasslands, savannas, and even mangroves," according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Yet despite this versatility of ecosystems, po[CENSORED]tions have fallen to dangerous limits due to human activity. Whether due to the invasion of their natural environment, or due to the excessive hunting of the species, the po[CENSORED]tion of tigers in the world has declined by up to 93%, according to IUCN figures. This year, however, the picture looks much more favourable. The organization's most recent new measurements suggest there are about 2,000 more specimens than originally thought. ALTHOUGH THE SPECIES IS STILL LISTED AS ENDANGERED, THE IUCN PO[CENSORED]TION TREND INDICATED THAT TIGERS "ARE SUCCESSFUL AND RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE AS CONSERVATION EFFORTS CONTINUE," THE ORGANIZATION SAID. This is not only good news for tigers, but for their entire natural environment. As the main predators of their ecosystems, they are a key species for the health of the environment in which they live, details the IUCN. Indirectly, the conservation of tigers contributes to the stability of other species of herbivores, carnivores, and the persistence of the entire ecosystem in a functional way. https://www.ngenespanol.com/animales/uicn-asegura-que-los-tigres-en-el-mundo-pueden-recuperarse/
  11. The small Renault Kwid is the new citycar of the diamond brand. It offers a robust look, a good clearance of 180 mm, a trunk of 290 liters and a wheelbase of 2.42 meters. All versions are powered by a 66 Hp and 91 Nm 1.0 12v engine, which can achieve up to 21.6 km/l on the highway thanks to its 5MT gearbox. Renault will offer three levels of equipment, starting with the most austere Life version, which has air conditioning at best. The Intens model is already equipped with front electric windows, central locking, on-board computer, tachometer, fog lights, handles and body-color mirrors. Finally, the Outsider version offers a look much closer to that of an SUV and adds a 7" multimedia system, roof bars, backup camera and orange decorations. All versions have four airbags, ABS and ISOFIX as standard. https://www.autocosmos.cl/autos/mi-primer-auto
  12. YIV, Ukraine—Russia launched a missile attack on Ukraine’s key grain-exporting port of Odessa, officials said, hours after signing an international agreement to ease its blockade of the Black Sea coastline and allow for the safe transport of grain and other foodstuffs necessary to alleviate a looming global food crisis. The attack on Odessa appeared to violate the terms of the United Nations-brokered agreement signed by Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul on Friday, which sti[CENSORED]ted that both countries would refrain from attacking port facilities or civilian ships used for grain transport, according to a copy of the agreement reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the strike, saying in a statement that all parties had committed to ensuring the safe movement of Ukrainian grain shipments. At least two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles hit Odessa, the only major Ukrainian port resisting Russian occupation, damaging infrastructure at the site, Ukraine officials said. Another two of the missiles, which Russia has been launching from warships and submarines, were shot down by aerial defenses, officials said. A railcar discharging point and a warehouse used for loading grain were destroyed in the attack, according to international grain traders. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/russia-strikes-odessa-port-after-deal-to-unblock-ukrainian-grain-exports/ar-AAZSXXE?li=BBnb7Kz

  17. Realme Pad X will be launched in India on July 26 and ahead of its launch, the Chinese company has teased the tablet's Limelight function. The feature works with a few third-party apps and Realme says the support will be expanded to other apps as well. The Realme tablet was launched in China in May and comes equipped with a 105-degree wide-angle front camera. It sports a 11-inch display with a 2K resolution, features a Snapdragon 695 SoC under the hood, and packs an 8,340mAh battery with 33W fast charging technology. The Realme Pad X will come with a Limelight function that keeps the subject of the video in the centre of the frame by “intelligently following their movements.” The function includes Camera Auto Framing, which is claimed to replicate the effect of a real camera's rotating gimbal and changing focal length. This feature is facilitated by a 105-degree wide-angle front camera and stimulates a moving effect using a self-developed algorithm, as per Realme. The Realme Pad X's Limelight function supports up to five persons simultaneously in the call. The feature will be available on Zoom, Google Meet as well as Google Duo and soon on other apps as well. Realme Pad X specifications As mentioned, Realme Pad X was launched in China earlier this year. It sports a 11-inch display with a 2K resolution. The company has already teased that the smartphone scheduled to launch in India will come with a Snapdragon SoC. Meanwhile, the variant launched in China featured a Snapdragon 695 SoC, which is paired with up to 6GB of RAM. The tablet can borrow up to 5GB of storage (effective 11GB) and use it as RAM for smoother performance, the company says. For pictures and videos, Realme Pad X gets a 13-megapixel main camera and an ultra-wide front camera with 105-degree field-of-view for video calling. It packs up to 128GB inbuilt storage expandable via SD card (up to 512GB). The tablet comes with four speakers with Dolby Atmos. It also packs an 8,340mAh battery with 33W fast charging technology. https://gadgets360.com/tablets/news/realme-pad-x-launch-in-india-july-26-limelight-function-camera-auto-framing-feature-specifications-3184226#pfrom=topstory

  18. Introduction The Nothing phone has been in the rumor mill for months, but the wait is finally over. Carl Pei, the company's CEO, has introduced the world to the Nothing Phone (1) over a simple, straight-to-the-point presentation, which was unexpected for such a hyped product, yet one that felt right. So, here it is, meet the Nothing Phone (1). The company's first smartphone seems to have been built abiding by one simple rule - everything you need, nothing you don't. And a pinch of innovation, of course. And looking through the Nothing Phone (1) specs, we can clearly see this applied through and through. The Nothing Phone (1) utilizes a 6.55-inch OLED of 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh. And because of this rather mainstream display, the phone doesn't really need the latest Snapdragon chipset. That's why Nothing has opted for the competent, albeit not top-tier, Snapdragon 778G+ 5G chipset, which has already proven itself. The camera department seems quite down to earth, too, but enough, nevertheless. There is a 50MP dual camera over at the back - a primary with a wide-angle OIS lens and an ultrawide-angle secondary with AF. A 16MP selfie camera is on the other side, sitting within a tiny display punch hole. Then, you'd also find a 4,500mAh battery with 33W wired and 15W wireless charging support. Reverse wireless charging is also available. The strength of the Nothing Phone (1) lies elsewhere, though. First, it's the splash-resistant unique transparent design, second - the incredibly snappy Android 12 with Nothing interface, and finally, the unique Glyph illumination interface on the back. These make the Nothing Phone (1) stand out among any crowd. So color us intrigued! Not offering cutting-edge technology is surely a risky move, but you can't make a €450 flagship in 2022. Not like it was with the first OnePlus phones eight years ago. And that's why we think it was a smart move to get a phone with the most useful features and not overpay for extras you will rarely (if ever) use, like a LiDAR, a 4K screen, an overpowered chip that ruins battery life. See, we managed to avoid nothing jokes up to this part, and for that, we are already proud of ourselves. So, before we give in to the temptation, let's go through the detailed specs sheet. Nothing Phone (1) specs at a glance: Body: 159.2x75.8x8.3mm, 194g; Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), glass back (Gorilla Glass 5), aluminum frame; Multiple LED lights on the back (notifications, charging progress, camera fill light), Blinking red light on the back (video recording indicator), IP53 - splash, water and dust resistant. Display: 6.55" OLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, HDR10+, 500 nits (typ), 1200 nits (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 402ppi. Chipset: Qualcomm SM7325-AE Snapdragon 778G+ 5G (6 nm): Octa-core (1x2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 & 3x2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55); Adreno 642L. Memory: 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM; UFS 3.1. OS/Software: Android 12, Nothing OS. Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.9, 24mm, 1/1.56", 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 50 MP, f/2.2, 114˚, 1/2.76", 0.64µm, PDAF. Front camera: 16 MP, f/2.5, (wide), 1/3.1", 1.0µm. Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps, gyro-EIS, live HDR; Front camera: 1080p@30fps. Battery: 4500mAh; Fast charging 33W, 50% in 30 min, 100% in 70 min (advertised), Wireless charging 15W, Reverse wireless charging 5W, Power Delivery 3.0, Quick Charge 4.0. Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); NFC; stereo speakers. The only major omission we can spot right out of the bat is the lack of complete ingress protection. Sure, splash resistance is still something, but for a phone of such hype level, we expected at least IP67. The Nothing Phone (1) is available in two color options - black and white - and three memory variants - 8/128, 8/256, and 12/256. The base model starts at €469, which is quite a reasonable price given, well, everything. Everything boils down to one question - is the Nothing Phone (1) a breath of fresh air, a new hope if you will, or a glorified and overpriced mid-ranger? Let's find out! Unboxing the Nothing Phone (1) Nothing Phone (1) ships in an eco-friendly box made from recycled fiber. It gets destroyed upon opening, and unless you tape it back, it will never look the same. So, once you rip that paper box open, inside, you will find the Nothing Phone (1), a USB-C cable, and the coolest SIM ejection tool we've seen to date! There is no charger inside the box. The phone supports USB-PD 3.0, so you can use any PD charger you have at your home. One more thing, the Nothing Phone (1) comes with a thin screen protector that was applied in the factory. It is of a higher than usual quality and doesn't get as smudged as the ones coming on multiple Xiaomi phones. https://www.gsmarena.com/nothing_phone_1-review-2453.php

  19. The Galaxy S22 series is one of the best Android phones you can buy right now. It represents Samsung’s best response to the iPhone 13, although benchmark tests have already shown the new phones can’t match their biggest rivals. But it appears that the Galaxy S22 might be suffering from a big issue, as Samsung is throttling performance for some 10,000 apps. An app called Game Optimizing Service (GOS) that users can’t uninstall or disable might be responsible for the problem. Samsung is apparently investigating it. The Galaxy S22 app performance problem The GOS service should improve the performance of names, as the name suggests. But it appears that Samsung is using it to limit the performance of as many as 10,000 Android apps, including apps that you might routinely use. The list includes Netflix, Instagram, TikTok, and some Google apps. Even Samsung apps are throttled on phons with GOS enabled, including Samsung Pay or Secure Folder. This list includes all the apps that GOS throttled. Per 9to5Google, GOS is preinstalled on their Galaxy S22 Plus, and they can’t remove it. On the other hand, Android Authority reports that the GOS app isn’t installed on its Galaxy S22 units. Similarly, it doesn’t appear on the Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S10e. But they found GOS On the Galaxy S21 Plus, and the app can’t be disabled. Aside from reducing the performance of regular apps, GOS seems to ignore benchmark apps. That means apps supposed to measure the performance of the Galaxy S22 and other phones would have access to the full power of the handset. However, regular apps wouldn’t. A YouTuber changed the name of a benchmark app to prove the behavior of Samsung’s GOS service, according to xda-developers. The original benchmark app scored 2618 points in the Wild Life Extreme test on the Galaxy S22. But the score went down considerably (1141) once GOS throttled the app of the renamed variant. You can see the experiment in the following video. Why is Samsung throttling apps? Before Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S22 series, we saw the first signs that the new handsets can’t outperform the iPhone 13 models. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip cant outscore the A15 Bionic. Then, Samsung delayed the Exynos 2200. And when it unveiled its own Galaxy S22 processor, it didn’t even advertise any performance gains compared to its predecessor. This prompted speculation that the new chip could have performance issues. Pundits wondered whether the phones will be able to deliver sustained performance and whether users will experience overheating issues. In turn, such Galaxy S22 performance issues will tax the battery life. Given the findings that GOS throttles app performance on Samsung phones like the Galaxy S22, the conclusion seems to be that Samsung might be throttling app performance intentionally. This ensures the phone doesn’t overheat and improves battery life. However, GOS doesn’t throttle benchmark apps, as shown in the video above. All of that translates to Samsung misleading buyers. The Galaxy S22 might feature the newest chips, but that means nothing if GOS throttles app performance. It’s also a problem that you can’t disable the feature. Samsung’s intentions aren’t necessarily bad, but throttling should be up to the user. And again, not throttling benchmark apps amounts to lying to customers. Samsung wouldn’t be the first company to pull this sort of trick. OnePlus was caught throttling the OnePlus 9 last year in a similar fashion. The good news is that Samsung is investigating the Galaxy S22 app performance problem. That’s according to Korean blog Naver. The investigation is significant, apparently, in line with similar actions that Samsung has taken with the Galaxy Note 7 recall or the Galaxy Fold’s early durability issues. https://bgr.com/tech/galaxy-s22-might-throttle-performance-for-10000-apps/
