Have you ever wondered what a modern Supra built entirely by Toyota would look like? Well to answer your question designer Georgi Bozhkov created the Toyota Supra rendering of your dreams using the Lexus LC as the starting point. The resulting car is the homegrown Supra of your dreams without the controversial involvement of BMW. Car designer Georgi Bozhkov worked to reimagine the beautiful Lexus LC into an aggressive Toyota Supra successor of our dreams. His design retains similar proportions to the normal LC and still has the same long hood and short rear trunk area. Now instead of the massive Lexus grille upfront, there’s a rounded front end that’s more aggressive and is reminiscent of an A80 Supra. The tall rear wing and rear taillights are a perfect mix of A80 throwback while standing out as modern additions to an aggressive sports car. Gallery: Fan Renders Attractive Toyota Supra Tribute Out Of A Lexus LC The current A90 Toyota Supra is an impressive sports car built using help from BMW. With the huge amount of cost required to develop a sports car platform and drivetrain, Toyota turned to BMW to split development costs with their new Z4. Although this strategy allowed Toyota to build the new Supra affordably it created a great deal of controversy among the Supra faithful. Many customers wanted Toyota to build the Supra without outside interference resulting in a true Toyota product. Unfortunately, with current economic pressures, it is quite difficult to justify the cost of developing a low volume sports car like the Supra. Many critics of this strategy looked to platforms like the Lexus LC that Toyota could have used as the basis of the new Supra. Thanks to this rendering we now know what an LC-based Toyota Supra could have looked like.

We don’t yet have a concrete Halo Infinite release date, but one of the main mo-cap actors is confident the FPS game is locked for a spring 2021 release. As far as Bruce Thomas, the mo-cap performer for Master Chief, knows, the sequel will hit shelves in the first quarter of 2021. Speaking to Dan Allen Gaming (via Reddit) about his work on Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War, Thomas was asked about his time as Master Chief. Thomas has played Halo’s stalwart galactic hero from Halo 4 through to now, and at the end delivers an offhand status update that performances in Halo Infinite are done, and the game’s heading for an early 2021 release window. “We have wrapped up Infinite, I believe, unless we’re going to try and do some more as the COVID comes to a halt,” Thomas says. “But as far as I know it’s in the can, and ready to go for next spring.” His comments aren’t a full commitment, and he leaves the window open for developer 343 Industries to call him back in, but it sounds like everything that was scripted has been performed, meaning there’s probably not any drastic changes on the drawing board. Halo Infinite was revealed during the summer to a mixed reception. A delay was announced in August, and we haven’t had a huge amount of updates since. 343 is trying to remedy that, promising to be more communicative, though don’t expect anything at this year’s Game Awards. Google said Thursday it will be rolling out end-to-end encryption for Android users, making it harder for anyone—including law enforcement—to read the content of messages. "End-to-end encryption ensures that no one, including Google and third parties, can read the content of your messages as they travel between your phone and the phone of the person you're messaging," said Google product lead Drew Rowny in announcing the rollout. Google's move is part of an upgrade from SMS to the Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard with additional features for images and videos. It will be available for people communicating using Android-powered devices. The move brings additional privacy and security to Google's messaging application, but comes amid rising complaints from law enforcement agencies around the world that strong encryption may enable criminals to hide their tracks. Digital rights activists have long supported strong encryption to allow users to avoid snooping by governments and cybercriminals. But some governments have warned the technology could hinder criminal investigations. End-to-end encryption is already available on some services such as Facebook-owned WhatsApp, but the company has been facing resistance over its plan to bring full encryption to its Messenger app. Last year, US Attorney General William Barr joined with British and Australian counterparts in urging Facebook to abandon its encryption, claiming the plan court hurt investigations into child exploitation. Civil liberties groups countered that a lack of encryption or privileged access for law enforcement could hurt privacy and security for all internet users, creating holes that could be exploited by bad actors.

This IPS display from Hewlett Packard is definitely worth a look for anyone looking to upgrade on a budget. The HP VH240a spans 24-inches across and features a 23.8-inch IPS panel for just $99 at Amazon. Some of the best gaming monitors of 2020 use IPS technology. We also have plenty of computer monitor deals that feature IPS panels. Finding an IPS monitor this size for under $100 isn't as common, and definitely worth noting in our book. The screen has an FHD resolution, which measures in at 1920 x 1080p. The refresh rate is modest compared to some gaming displays at just 60Hz, but the size, price, and IPS panel more than make up for it. According to the specs, it has a 5ms response time. This edition comes with built-in speakers, ideal for users who may want to save desk space and reduce the number of external peripherals. Users can mount the screen to a wall or arm using a compatible VESA mount. This is part of our effort to share the best deals on tech we can find this holiday. Visit the HP VH240a product page at Amazon for more details and checkout options. VIEW DEAL

Subaru is slow to the electric revolution. The Japanese automaker offers hybrids, but a fully electric model has yet to arrive. That will be changing soon in a big way, as Subaru plans to ditch its famous boxer engines and go all-electric by 2035. The vehicle featured here could be the first step in that shift to electric power. To be clear, this is an unofficial rendering that's purely speculative, but it is based in reality. Subaru is expected to launch its first electric vehicle next year, and our colleagues at InsideEvs report it should be called Evoltis. The Subaru-Toyota relationship will expand beyond small sports cars, as Toyota will have a hand in the development of this new vehicle. Details on power and range aren't known as of yet, but all indications have it arriving sometime next year as a 2022 model. Gallery: Subaru Electric Crossover Concept : As for the rendering, it's based heavily on the chiseled concept vehicle Subaru unveiled way back in January. We're tempted to call this a love child between the Tesla Cybertruck and Toyota RAV4 Prime, with perhaps just a kiss of old-school Subaru SVX tossed in for good measure. The Toyota connection certainly isn't an accident, as the RAV4 Prime is comparable in size and it's a plug-in hybrid, so the platform is already configured for some measure of electrification. Subaru has done an admirable job of keeping its electric crossover a secret. We've not seen a prototype in public, but reports suggest the concept is surprisingly close to how the production version will look. It's a bold step for Subaru, but with competition still increasing in the crossover world and electric power on the cusp of mainstream, taking a bold direction could be the key to reaching buyers. Whether those buyers respond to an edgy Evoltis remains to be seen.

In addition to several other interesting insights, the annual Octoverse report for 2020 from GitHub reveals that JavaScript continues to be the preferred programming language for developers, at least on GitHub. With over 56 million developers, GitHub is the largest platform for collaborative development. It uses the Octoverse reports to help get a pulse of its community of developers. Last year, Python passed Java as the second-most po[CENSORED]r language on GitHub by repository contributors and it continued to maintain its runners-up position this year as well. Java held on to the last spot on the podium. Language soup : The surprise move was exhibited by Microsoft-supported open source TypeScript language. Often referred to as a superset of JavaScript, the language moved from seventh place in the last two years to the fourth spot in 2020. Another Microsoft-developed language, C# retained its fifth spot, which it regained last year. One of the two big losers was PHP at the sixth spot (down from fourth in 2019). It was followed by C++ at the seventh spot, which continues its downward momentum following a high of fifth in 2018. C and Shell swapped places from last year and clock in at eighth and ninth spot respectively. Ruby continues to bring up the rear of the top ten. The language has been on a steady decline since 2015, losing two places every year, before settling at the tenth spot a couple of years back in 2018. According to the report, not all developers engage on the platform, equally. The new ones who’ve been on the platform for less than a month usually get a taste for the collaborative style of development by creating and commenting on issues. On the other hand, veterans who’ve been on GitHib for over two years help shape code by reviewing and creating pull requests. The Octoverse is a collection of three reports that break down the interactions among the developers in terms of security, developer productivity, and how collaboration and development patterns have shaped in light of the global pandemic.

AMD's RDNA2 flagship, the RX 6900 XT, is set to launch by the 8th of December this year, but that hasn't stopped someone from benching the card before launch: APAISK on Twitter has shared the first RX 6900 XT gaming benchmark we've seen on the internet so far. And yes, again, it's an Ashes of the Singularity benchmark run. Disclaimer: Ashes can be very much CPU limited and isn't going to show a top-tier GPU in the best light. With that out of the way: Unfortunately, the results aren't amazing, but again: Ashes. The RX 6900 XT scored a single fps lower than its theoretically less-powerful brother, the RX 6800 XT, with 102 FPS and 10100 points. Nvidia's top dog, the RTX 3090, scored 10400 points and 105FPS at the same resolution of 1080P and with the same CPU, which is an Intel Core i7-8700K. So is the RX 6900 XT is a rip-off compared to the RX 6800 XT? Not necessarily, and early benchmarks like this need to be taken with a grain of salt, whether the card performs crazy well or crazily lower than expectations. The 6900 XT needs to be used in games that are GPU limited rather than CPU limited if it's going to have any chance of shining. Plus, even on paper it's not massively different from the 6800 XT: It has 10 percent more shader cores ... and that's pretty much it. Same memory, same clocks, same TDP. Nvidia's RTX 3090 and 3080 have the same relationship as the RX 6900 XT and 6800 XT. The RTX 3090 trades blows with the RTX 3080 and is usually one fps higher in Ashes benchmark. It's not just a Radeon problem, then, it's a game engine limitation. That makes perfect sense, actually, and the Core i7-8700K is clearly the bottleneck at 1080p.

The Nissan Kicks arrived on US shores in 2018, replacing the quirky-styled Juke as the subcompact crossover in the automaker's lineup. It's garnered praise from the Motor1.com crew for its space, features, value, and tossable nature despite being saddled with a CVT turning just the front wheels. A facelift is coming for 2021, and Nissan is teasing the new model that will debut on December 8. There's just one thing – we've already seen it. The 2021 Kicks debuted in May 2020 for Thailand, where it launched as a hybrid with a small gasoline engine used exclusively to charge batteries for the electric motor driving the wheels. Whether or not that powertrain option comes to the US is unknown, and for now, Nissan isn't offering up any details. But the styling refresh adopts Nissan's larger V-Motion grille, which is easily the most notable difference compared to the outgoing model. Gallery: 2021 Nissan Kicks e-Power: A big grille requires a new front fascia, and the update adds thinner headlights that connect to prominent sculpting on either side of the grille. The result is a decidedly bolder look at the front, but that's where nearly all the changes take place. Updated taillights and minor tweaks to rear fascia are also in store, while inside, the Kicks sees minor changes to the existing greenhouse. The center console is updated with a smaller shift stalk, and the in-dash infotainment screen is a bit larger. That is, these should be the changes revealed on December 8. There's no guarantee that the Kicks for Thailand will look the same as the one for the US, but such a thing seems highly unlikely. Furthermore, looking closely at Nissan's teaser photo atop this article, we see the outline of the same face we saw back in May. So at this point, all that remains is learning the details about updated features, equipment, what's under the hood, and whether the Kicks will remain a pricing champion in the subcompact crossover segment.

Sea of Thieves has been getting (mostly) monthly updates for the better part of the past two years, but that’s changing as we head into 2021. The devs at Rare have teased that 2021 will be the game’s biggest year ever, and that starts with a new seasonal content plan and progression system kicking off next month. Sea of Thieves: Season One begins in January. Each season will be about three months long, and will commence by introducing a major new piece of content, alongside regular live events and new rewards to unlock. Season One will introduce a new type of Merchant Alliance voyage, where you do pirate detective work to uncover a lost shipment in the world. A new seasonal progression system will have you building your experience through 100 levels of pirate renown, through all your normal activities. The renown levels will let you unlock additional cosmetics, including clothing and ship looks. There will also be specific challenges that will direct you toward old content, or ask you to play in unique ways. While that’s all free, you’ll also be able to pay for access to a premium battle pass for additional rewards as you progress through the renown levels. As you’d expect, the Plunder Pass will give you access to unique rewards, including items from the real-money store. Every month, Sea of Thieves will host a featured live event, similar in scope to something like Fate of the Damned. That’s in addition to the usual, more regular rotation of live events. The devs also say Adventure mode is going to be the big focus going forward. While Arena will continue to be supported, don’t expect the PvP mode to get a ton of focus in near future.

There’s a new certification that’ll help prove your credentials as you start your IT career. Designed by the Linux Foundation, the certification will help prove your proficiency in IT and can be used to join the workforce at an associate level or as a stepping stone to more advanced courses. The Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate (LFCA) will test your knowledge of fundamental but critical IT concepts, especially for prevalent modern technologies such as cloud computing. The certificate follows the Linux Foundation's 2020 Open Source Jobs report finding that 52% of hiring managers are more likely to hire someone with a certification. Self study The certificate will test your expertise over six broad domains, including Linux fundamentals, security fundamentals, DevOps fundamentals, and more. The exam doesn’t supply any course material as there are several free courses across multiple online learning platforms that’ll help you prepare for the exam. The exam handbook mentions that the duration of the LFCA exam is 90 minutes. In that time you’ll have to field 60 multiple choice questions and must score more than 75% to pass. The exam is taken remotely and will be monitored by a live proctor. After clearing the exam, the certificate remains valid for the next three years. LFCA costs $300 though there’s a 40% discount till December 8, 2020 as part of Linux Foundation’s Cyber Monday sale. You can take advantage of the discount to enroll for the course now and then schedule the exam once the scheduling calendar opens on January 14, 2021.

Renowned US electronics manufacturer and distributor Adafruit announced that it is working on its own USB Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) powered by a TPS62827 Coral accelerator chip. This chip could increase the processing power of your next Raspberry Pi-powered Machine Learning project. Adafruit's Coral TPU board will come as a USB device. When inserted into a Raspberry Pi 4, Adafruit says that Coral will improve the performance of TensorFlow Lite inferences by up to ten times in certain circumstances. It should offer similar performance to Google's Coral USB accelerator, which uses the same chip, and costs $59, but is not in a stick form factor. We recently reviewed Adafruit's BrainCraft HAT, designed as a single module to aid Raspberry Pi 4-powered Machine Learning projects. While the BrainCraft HAT had no TPU and was unable to help process the data, it provided the means to operate a device that could collect and output data. Processing was handled via the Raspberry Pi 4's CPU, which manages around 4-5fps. With this new Adafruit TPU, we can expect the fps to jump to over 20fps! We asked Limor Fried, CEO Adafruit for more information. "The goal is for this new chip to be used with Pi 4 computers specifically to greatly speed up vision recognition projects - we found that Mobilenet SSDlite type demos ran at maybe 1~2 fps and with this add on we could get to a real-time friendly 20fps which would allow many more edge AI projects to use the common Pi 4." There's no firm word yet on pricing or availability as Fried is still working on the price of materials needed to manufacture the stick. However, she said that she's hoping to offer it for somewhere around the price of a Raspberry Pi 4 (though she didn't say which Raspberry Pi 4) and would have more news in a few weeks. It is still early days, so we have no details on price, but it is hoped that Adafruit's Coral will retail for less than Google's Coral TPU, possibly around the same price as a Raspberry Pi 4.
