  2. Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is expected to launch soon. It is said to succeed the Galaxy S21 FE, the last Fan Edition model released by the South Korean tech giant. Details about the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE have been doing the rounds of the rumour mill for a while. The US and non-US variants of the model have been tipped to carry different chipsets. The phone has now been spotted on the Google Play Console and other certification sites. According to a MySmartPrice report, the Galaxy S23 FE was spotted on the Google Play Console Database. It is reportedly seen with two chipset variants - Samsung r11q and Samsung r11s, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with Adreno 730 GPU and an in-house Exynos 2200 chipset, respectively. The Galaxy S23 FE was also reportedly spotted on Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) website with the model number SM-S711B/DS which confirmed that the phone will support 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, the handset has also been listed on Samsung India's support page (first spotted by 91Mobiles) as different variants of the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy S23 FE Special Edition, hinting at an imminent launch. Design renders of the phone were leaked recently, too. It is said to launch in Black Graphite, Pearl White, Purple Lavender, and Olive colour options. It has also been tipped to come with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The upcoming handset is expected to ship with Android 13, with four years of OS updates alongside five years of security patches. For optics, it is likely to get a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation), an 8-megapixel secondary camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera at the back and a 10-megapixel front camera sensor. It is expected to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging support.
  3. We’ve been hearing a lot about Wi-Fi 7, the next-gen wireless standard, of late, and one of the bits of chatter was worrying – namely that Windows 10 users may not get the benefit of these faster wireless speeds. Fortunately, we can now put paid to any notion that Windows 10 users will be left out in the cold. This episode started a month ago when a leaked Intel document appeared on X (formerly Twitter), courtesy of one of the regular hardware leakers on that platform, and it omitted any mention of Windows 10 support for Wi-Fi 7. It listed support for Windows 11, Linux, and ChromeOS, but that was it. Now, as we commented at the time, that didn’t necessarily mean that Windows 10 won’t support Wi-Fi 7, but it was certainly taken as a hint that the older OS may not, somehow. The good news is that this isn’t the case, and we’ve now had confirmation – albeit an indirect confirmation – from Intel that Windows 10 PCs will be just fine to benefit from Wi-Fi 7. Neowin reports that Intel has now listed a pair of Wi-Fi 7 modules on its official Ark product database – the Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200 and Wi-Fi 7 BE202 – both of which are marked down as having Windows 11 and Windows 10 support (along with Linux, though ChromeOS is omitted with these product listings, oddly – again, we wouldn’t read too much into that either). Analysis: Minor panic over, thankfully So, if there was any panic for Windows 10 users – and there was a bit, for sure – they can now rest easy that when Wi-Fi 7 comes fully into play, they will be able to enjoy those much, much faster wireless speeds (compared to Wi-Fi 6, it’s in the order of a fivefold speed increase). When will Wi-Fi 7 actually be usable? Well, it’s still relatively early days yet for the standard, and those first Intel modules won’t be in hardware for some time (and you’ll need not just client devices which support Wi-Fi 7, but of course one of the best wireless routers that does, as well). We’re looking at next year for the new wireless standard to be fully formed and certified, with supporting hardware to rollout following that in 2024. There’s plenty to look forward to then, no matter what version of Windows you’re running.
  4. Earlier this week, we learned that Panos Panay, who long led Microsoft's Surface hardware division, will depart the company. The news took us by surprise for several reasons. For starters, Panay has been the face of the Surface brand since its inception and is always on hand to announce new products and talks passionately about the work that goes into each product's development. Secondly, Panay was scheduled to be on stage today at Microsoft's event announcing the next generation of Surface hardware. We later learned that Panay accepted a position at Amazon to lead the team responsible for Echo, Kindle, and Fire hardware, replacing Dave Limp. Today, we're finally learning the impetus for Panay's decision to leave Microsoft courtesy of Business Insider. While the announcement was sudden to those in the tech world, sources close to Panay say he has been plotting a move to Amazon for some time. According to these same sources, Microsoft made "significant cuts" to the budget allotted to the Surface division and canceled next-generation Surface Headphones (the headphones are currently in their second generation). Microsoft is instead shifting some of the funds previously earmarked for Surface to its artificial intelligence endeavors. Panay's extreme attention to detail for the end-to-end process also reportedly ruffled some feathers. While some labeled him a "diva," Panay's overall reputation at the company during his two-decade tenure has been generally well-received. "Thank you, Panos, for your impact on our products, culture, company, and industry over the past two decades," said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in a statement regarding Panay's decision to leave the company. "I'm grateful for your leadership, support, and all you've done for Microsoft and our customers and partners." As the head of the Windows and Surface business at Microsoft, his role will be transferred to Yusuf Mehdi, who served as Corporate VP and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer. Mehdi will be joined by Mikhail Parakhin, Shilpa Ranganathan, and Pavan Davuluri in pushing forward a new era of Windows, hardware, and AI products. It will be interesting to see how Panay's dedication to producing premium customer experiences will translate to his new role as SVP of Devices and Services at Amazon. Amazon's Echo, Fire and Kindle devices are known for providing a lot of bang for the buck, but we doubt many people would call them premium devices.

  6. Musician Name:Larissa Mendes dos Santos Nary Birthday / Location: June 7, 1984 (39 years old) São Paulo, SP Brazilian Brazil Main instrument: Pop country music country music anime songs Musician Picture: Musician Awards & Nominations:- Best Performance: - Other Information: Larissa began her career as a cover girl for Xuxa, doing TV commercials and photos for magazines when she was just three years old as a model. At the age of six, Larissa began her career as a singer, performing the great country music hits of that time, such as Zezé di Camargo and Luciano, Chitãozinho and Xororó, Leandro and Leonardo. At the beginning of 1995, at the age of 10, she, together with Will Kawamura, passed a test at the record company Sony Music to sing songs from the soundtrack of the anime "Os Cavaleiros do Zodiaco", broadcast by the now extinct Rede Manchete. Thus, the duo Larissa & William was formed, who performed several songs from the album that sold more than 1 million copies, earning them Gold, Platinum and Double Platinum Records. With this success, the duo traveled Brazil and participated in TV programs such as Angel Mix, Bom Dia & Cia, Xuxa Hits, Programa Hebe and Programa Livre, where they received the gold record live alongside the duo Sandy and Junior, who also participated in the program. The following year, they recorded the theme CD for Parque Beto Carrero World for Sony, and without the duo - but still as Larissa -, the opening theme for Guerreiras Mágicas de Rayearth. Three years later, Larissa decided to pursue a solo career and released the CD Tudo vai change (1999), all set to an axé rhythm (at a time of great repercussion for the genre in Brazil). His first album, however, was not widely received. In the middle of the last decade (2005/2006), Larissa continued her search for a space in the music scene and, thus, recorded a demo CD in order to promote her work. This demo is today, in a way, considered by fans as a possible second solo album for the singer. Unlike the first album, this album features songs in a romantic pop style, which included a Portuguese version of the song "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" (by singer Shania Twain). This CD was “leaked” on the internet at the time and today fans can enjoy this work. In 2001 Larissa began to be part of Banda On The Rock's, which years later changed its name to Banda Montana, focused on the country segment, remaining for 10 years, having been elected the best country singer on the circuit three times. The band, at first, did covers of international artists of the genre, but, with the public's increasing support, the need for work with a more national color was felt and the band decided to invest in Brazilian versions of the songs and even own compositions. With the po[CENSORED]rity of the university country music rhythm, she left Banda Montana and formed a duo "Larissa & Rafael", which conquered São Paulo and regions with their charisma and musicality. The duo released their first album in 2010 – Vem Voo, and worked on new songs before disbanding. Larissa is currently pursuing a solo career, making her new country CD available for download on her official website. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the release of Knights of the Zodiac in Brazil, together with Edu Falaschi, Ricardo Cruz and Rodrigo Rossi, Larissa participated in the "Knights of the Zodiac - In Concert" tour in 2014 and 2015. In 2017 she is joining a new musical project. She teamed up with 2 Brazilian anime singers Ricardo Cruz and Rodrigo Rossi to form the Brazilian anime song band called Danger3. Together with Danger3 she released the EP Neo Tokyo which has 3 songs in Portuguese inspired by the Japanese manga Akira composed by her and Danger3 which was released this year 2017 on July 13th by the Arte Entretenimento record label by musician and music producer Renato Tribuzy . In 2018, in honor of Jaspion's 30 years in Brazil, she recorded with Ricardo Cruz, Akira Kushida and arranger Lucas Araújo, a medley with songs from the series' soundtrack.

  11. Windows 11’s latest cumulative update has been triggering a whole heap of problems going by a bunch of online reports, including causing havoc for PC gamers in some cases. This is KB5030219, the compulsory update for September that was released last week and piped to Windows 11 22H2 systems. Windows Latest spotted a catalog of reported gremlins in the works with KB5030219, and that includes the update causing Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) crashes. On top of that, readers have reported instances of system slowdown to Windows Latest following the installation of KB5030219, and network connection problems, with internet access apparently failing for some post-installation. There are also reports of PCs failing to start entirely after the update, which is very worrying of course – there’s nothing worse than your system failing to boot after applying an ‘upgrade.’ Another report on Reddit, on the official thread introducing KB5030219, complains about a problem where the Start menu (and search functionality) fails to work for some folks. That Reddit thread contains quite a number of other issues, including various performance problems (like a very slow right-click menu) and tabs in File Explorer disappearing due to KB5030219, as well as some weird audio glitches. Oh, and installation failures, with the update failing to complete in some cases (a continued problem with Windows 11 cumulative updates for some folks). And on top of that, as mentioned, PC gamers have been hit here. Windows Latest highlights some apparent performance glitches with Starfield, and a post on Microsoft’s own Feedback Hub claims the Game Pass version of Starfield is experiencing TDR (timeout detection and recovery) errors and crashes. However, Windows Latest further notes that it’s not sure if these Starfield performance issues could be related to Nvidia’s most recent GeForce driver, or to this Windows 11 cumulative update. One Redditor certainly lays the blame at Microsoft’s door, saying: “It’s definitely a Windows update issue for me because I didn’t update my GeForce driver (I use the studio driver that is still at v536.99) but stupid me did the Windows update and now my PC is exhibiting all kinds of intermittent internet connection problems, lags, slow application startups, etc.” Another Redditor claims: “Yes! I thought it was the new Nvidia driver I had installed at first, but then rolled it back and [the] issue [performance problem in Starfield] was still present. I then uninstalled update KB5030219 and issue was completely gone. Reinstalled the latest Nvidia driver again and it was fine. Not sure what they broke with that Windows update, but I won’t be reinstalling it until it has been addressed.” Other reports from PC gamers include Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart misfiring with crashes and freezes. Analysis: Return of the timeouts (sadly) This is a surprisingly lengthy laundry list of serious issues across the board, really. We expect some rockiness to be experienced with any new patch, true, but this kind of level of apparent chaos is a poor show from Microsoft. The range of the glitches, and the performance hits in many cases – for gaming, and operation within the Windows 11 environment in general – make for a truly worrying state of affairs. What doesn’t help is there’s no admission from Microsoft that there’s anything amiss here, at least not yet. In the supporting bumph for KB5030219, Microsoft simply states that it is “not currently aware of any issues with this update” and leaves it at that. What’s extra disappointing for us here is that TDR errors were resolved in July, with the cumulative update for that month – so to see them apparently making a return already is a bit of a blow, to say the least. Hopefully, Microsoft will be investigating the many outlined issues here, because clearly, something has gone awry with KB5030219 – to see this much disgruntled chatter around an update, and such a wide-ranging set of apparent problems, is definitely concerning.
  12. Rumors emanating from purported Taiwanese supply chain sources are stoking fears that TSMC’s 2nm mass production schedule might be delayed from 2025 to 2026. TechNews.tw reports (h/t TrendForce) that construction at the pivotal Hsinchu Baoshan Fab 20 has “begun to slow down.” It implies the slowdown is due to management seeing “sluggish” demand. Take the rumors with a healthy dose of salt for now. We wrote about TSMC’s 2nm development and implementation plans in mid-August. To recap, the contract semiconductor manufacturing giant is building three new fabs in Taiwan to deliver 2nm output: one in Hsinchu Baoshan, (Taiwan’s Silicon Valley, in the North of the island), one in Taichung Zhongke (Central), and one in Kaohsiung Nanzi (South). The original plans were to run pilot production in 2024, with mass production of 2nm (TSMC N2) products in H2 2025. As highlighted above, TSMC’s Hsinchu plans would seem to be pivotal as this is the heart of its operations, and next to its R&D Center. We mentioned that sluggish demand from TSMC customers might be making the semiconductor manufacturer cautious at continuing apace. The source publication says that TSMC customers appear to be reticent to put in firm orders at this time. This, according to the rumors, might prompt TSMC to slow things down a little and push its first 2nm mass production plans to 2026. Another nagging doubt regarding TSMC’s shift from 3nm class production to 2nm is that it will also transition from FinFET to Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture. Samsung has already leapt this hurdle for its current 3nm output. Naturally, talk of delays to TSMC 2nm plans have got analysts buzzing over the potential impact in this highly competitive industry. TrendForce made the chart above, and there is also chatter over the potential of a TSMC 2nm schedule change being an opportunity for Samsung. We can’t be sure if the old proverb about smoke and fire rings true here. For a start, it is currently difficult to grasp that there may be “sluggish” demand for an advanced TSMC node with the momentum behind AI technology and so on. Perhaps, it is just a little early for customers to firm up orders for H2 2025. Moreover, TrendForce says that TSMC has responded to the rumors by stating “factory construction is currently progressing according to the planned schedule.”

  21. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were launched by the company at its 'Wonderlust' launch event earlier this week, and the handsets are currently the most powerful smartphones to be released by the Cupertino company. Pre-orders for the smartphones will begin on Friday and the phones are set to go on sale on September 22, but details of the smartphones' performance have already surfaced online. Thanks to new listings for both smartphones on a benchmarking website, we can understand the improvement in performance compared to last year's models. Geekbench listings for two smartphones, titled "iPhone16,1" and "iPhone 16,2" have surfaced on the website — these names refer to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, respectively. The oldest entry shows for the iPhone 15 Pro shows the smartphone achieved a score of 2,908 in the single-core test and 7,238 in the multi-core test. Meanwhile, the most recent entry for the iPhone 14 Pro on Geekbench shows the phone scored 2,608 in the single-core test and 6,673 in the multi-core test. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max scored 2,846 and 7,024 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. In comparison, a recent iPhone 14 Pro Max listing shows the phone scored 2,641 points in the single-core test and 6,989 points in the multi-core benchmark test. The listings for both phones show they are running on iOS 17, which will roll out to users on September 18. If we compare the performance scores of the iPhone 15 Pro with its predecessor, it is evident that there is an increase of roughly 11 percent and 8 percent in the single-core test and multi-core tests, respectively. In the case of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, these figures are slightly lower at 7 percent and 1 percent. Both the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max benchmark entries show the phones are equipped with a chipset that has six cores and a peak clock speed of 3.78GHz — the A17 Pro. The A16 Bionic chip powering the iPhone 14 Pro models has a clock speed of 3.46GHz. The smartphones are also listed to feature "7.50GB" — or 8GB of RAM. The details of the handset's RAM configuration provided in the listings are in line with a recent report that claimed that Apple has equipped its new iPhone Pro models with 8GB of RAM — the company doesn't typically disclose the amount of RAM in its smartphones. The benchmark scores suggest the handsets offer a modest jump in performance over last year's Pro models, despite Apple's move to the next-generation A17 Pro chip that is based on a 3nm process. However, it is worth taking these benchmarks with a pinch of salt as the company is yet to offer the smartphones to consumers and we should see more benchmarks with the smartphones appear over the coming weeks.
  22. Microsoft Edge could drastically change the way we interact with written content on the web with a new AI writing feature that copies existing content and regurgitates the information in a more ‘personal’ tone at the click of a button. According to Windows Latest, the GPT-4-powered feature allows users to select text on a webpage and have it rewritten in a tone and length of their choice. Microsoft Edge’s AI offers customizable tones like professional, casual, enthusiastic and informational, as well as format options that include a simple paragraph, email or blog post layout. The feature is integrated into the browser itself, allowing more users to access it much quicker. This is helpful if you want to generate ideas or make a quick change to the tone. So far Microsoft has been testing the feature with a small group of users in the Canary version of Chromium Edge, so we’ll have to wait and see if the feature ends up making its way officially to Microsoft Edge. It’s not all bad is it? I don’t mean to harp on about the doom and gloom aspect of a feature like this, but we do have to think about the negatives of AI before the positives because once the technology is out there, it can’t be taken back. Microsoft Edge’s AI could allow more people to break into blog writing who may feel a little nervous about getting their work out there without any mistakes in the copy. It would be useful while you’re researching and looking for a springboard for ideas and would help write boring but important emails without too much effort. However, because the tool is web-integrated and uses text on the web, it’ll become virtually impossible to detect whether or not a person's blog email or pitch has been plagiarized and AI-generated. Anyone could feed the tool a site’s copy, alter it slightly super quickly and pass it off as their own without any of the skill or hard work that goes into actually writing their own work. Microsoft’s efforts to cram artificial intelligence into its own products as quickly as possible, particularly after the success of Bing AI could have some unforeseen repercussions if it’s not careful. We can only hope that if Edge AI writer does make its debut, it proves me wrong and stays a writing tool, not a crutch.
  23. Asus has announced a new RTX 4070 graphics card and a couple of B760 motherboards featuring hidden power connectors that will launch on Sept. 15, according to IT Home. The new products include the Tianxuan TX Gaming RTX 4070 graphics card, the first cable-less GPU to hit the market, and two new B760 motherboards. These new components will most likely be limited to the Asian market, at least for now. We first learned the new GPUs were in production a few months ago. The new products take inspiration from Asus' new "Back-to-Future" (BTF) product stack that is designed to improve the aesthetic appeal of PC components by hiding or replacing all visible power connectors that might be present in a system. For motherboards, this includes redirecting the 24-pin and EPS power connectors to the rear of the PCB, allowing all power supply cables to be managed from the rear of the case alone. For graphics cards, PCIe supplemental power connectors have been removed entirely in favor of a custom HPCE power connector that draws power straight from the motherboard itself. By extension, this also means that BTF-branded motherboards are equipped with the same connector, but not all boards will apparently support the HPCE connector specifically. For instance, Asus' TUF Gaming Z790 concept motherboard features the connector, but its B760M-BTF WIFI board does not. Cases are also mixed into the BTF series, due to the fact that extra space behind the motherboard tray is required to exist so that power supply cables have enough room to be plugged into the rear power connectors on a BTF motherboard. For now, Asus has two BTF cases on its product page: the Asus A21 and the TUF Gaming GT502 Concept Case. The Tianxuan TX Gaming B760-BTF WiFi motherboard and the Tianxuan RTX 4070 graphics card are anime-themed. The TUF Gaming B760M-BTF WiFi Shadowraider board features a black design, while the Tianxuan TX Gaming B760-BTF WiFi board comes in a white theme featuring cyan accents. Both boards offer 12+1 power delivery systems, and PCIe Gen 5 support. The Tianxuan RTX 4070 takes on the same appearance as the TX board, featuring a white triple-fan cooling solution with cyan accents. Both B760 boards and the 4070 feature an HPCE power connector, allowing the RTX 4070 to draw power directly from the motherboard without a physical PCIe supplementary power cable. Asus also announced RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 variants with the same triple-fan cooling solution, but these lower-end cards do not feature the HPCE power connector. Since none of these Tianxuan-themed components are visible from Asus's US website, it appears these components will be exclusive to the Asian market. Pricing for the B760 motherboards is currently unknown, but the graphics cards will cost 5289 Yuan (~$728 USD) for the RTX 4070, 3789 Yuan (~$522 USD) for the RTX 4060 Ti, and 2789 Yuan (~$384 USD) for the RTX 4060.
