iPhone SE 4 — the fourth-generation smartphone tipped to succeed the iPhone SE (2022) — will be equipped with a USB Type-C port, according to a tipster. The Cupertino company is expected to switch the Lightning port on the purported iPhone 15 series of smartphones next month, and upcoming models are also likely to feature support for the modern USB connector. Meanwhile, the iPhone SE 4 is also tipped to feature support for Face ID and could be equipped with an Action button that is expected to make its debut on the iPhone 15 Pro this year. According to tipster Unknownz21 (@URedditor on X) the iPhone SE 4 will look similar to the iPhone 14, which was launched last year. This suggests that the rumoured handset will be the first in the SE series of smartphones to feature Apple's notch-based display. However, the leaker claims that just like its predecessor and every other SE model launched by the company, the fourth-generation smartphone from Apple will be equipped with a single rear camera. Apple has previously confirmed that it will switch future iPhone models to utilise a USB Type-C port instead of the company's proprietary Lightning port. The firm is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 series of smartphones — comprising the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max — at an event on September 12. The tipster claims that the iPhone SE 4 will also feature a USB Type-C port, which will make it the first SE-series smartphone with the modern USB port. Previous reports suggested that the iPhone SE 4 would be equipped with a Touch ID sensor, but Unknownz21 claims that the purported handset will feature support for Face ID. The first- and second-generation iPhone SE models featured a fingerprint sensor located on the front, which also doubled as a home button. However, it seems like Apple might equip the phone with facial recognition for biometric authentication. The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to debut with an "Action" button — similar to the one that was introduced on the Apple Watch Ultra last year — with the ability to program it to perform certain tasks or launch certain shortcuts, applications and accessibility features. According to the tipster, the iPhone SE 4 could also feature this Action button, which is expected to replace the iconic mute switch found on existing iPhone models.

Windows 10 is getting a new feature to backup and restore your system that was previously thought to be exclusive to Windows 11 – but there’s a twist in this tale. We’re talking about the Windows Backup app which Microsoft pushed out to test versions of Windows 11 earlier this year (in May). What this does is to back up pretty much everything for you – not just your files and folders, but apps, system settings, login details, the lot, so you can be up and running with a new PC in no time. These details are tied to your Microsoft account and backed up online to the cloud (OneDrive, or one of the other best cloud storage services). So, this application is coming to Windows 10, and as PhantomOfEarth on X (formerly Twitter) noticed, it’s present in the new Release Preview build for the OS (version 19045.3391, KB5029331). However, the mentioned catch here is that while this works to facilitate a full (and seamless) Windows 10 cloud backup, it doesn’t actually let you restore the system to a Windows 10 PC. Analysis: What’s this all about, then? Migration, in a word Huh, you might now be thinking – so, what’s the point? Well, while you can’t restore to a new Windows 10 installation as part of setting up a fresh OS, you can restore your backup to a Windows 11 installation. In other words, this is designed to be used to help those upgrading to Windows 11 bring across all their bits and pieces with a minimum of effort. This makes sense, as you may recall that earlier this year, Microsoft told us that it would no longer be adding any new features to Windows 10 – outside of very minor tweaking (and security fixes, of course). This does indeed count as a pretty big feature, but as it’s just to aid in migration to the newer OS, it’s not technically of much use to those sticking with Windows 10. This, then, is essentially a Windows 11 feature, or one to bridge the gap between the two operating systems in a seamless manner when upgrading – which is still a welcome ability. It’s just that it’d have been nice to see it introduced fully for Windows 10, too. Ahh well.

Lenovo has started selling its latest Yoga Slim 7 Gen 8 laptops in Europe and Yoga Air 14S in notebooks in China based on customized versions of AMD's Ryzen 7040-series accelerated processing units (APUs). According to IT Home, the new Zen 4-based processors come in FP8 packaging to enable better connectivity and performance while retaining their low power consumption. The new 14-inch Lenovo Yoga machines (which are called differently in China and Europe) use AMD's Ryzen 7840U processor in the FP8 packaging (instead of the FP7r2), which is why it is called the Ryzen 7 7840S but retains eight Zen 4 cores clocked at 3.30 – 5.10 GHz and Radeon 780M RDNA3-based GPU with 768 stream processors. At this point configurable thermal design power of the Ryzen 7 7840S is unclear, but it could be different from the original version. Meanwhile, VideoCardz reports that some of Lenovo's Yoga Slim and Yoga Air machines can also use AMD's custom Ryzen 5 7640S in the FP8 form factor. In fact, the website says that Lenovo will exclusively use the Ryzen 7 7840S and Ryzen 5 7640S, though we would expect this exclusivity to last for a few months only. AMD's Ryzen 7040-series processors come in three types of packages: compact FP7 (LPDDR5X) and FP7r2 (DDR5) optimized for thinner designs that need a high-performance APU as well as larger FP8 that is designed to deliver the highest functionality and performance. The FP8 package is notably larger than its FP7 counterparts. It is designed to support higher-performance interfaces, such as AMD's MIPI CSI, a high-speed interface to connect advanced cameras to host SoCs. Indeed, Lenovo's Yoga Slim 7 Gen 8 laptop is not the most compact and lightweight system around: they are 13.9 mm thick and weigh 1.35 kilograms, but it offers quite formidable performance and feature set. The machine comes with a 14.5-inch OLED display with a 2944x1840 resolution with up to 400 nits luminance, 16 GB of LPDDR4X-6400 memory, and a 512 GB M.2-2280 SSD with a PCIe 4.0 interface. The notebook has everything one expects from a high-end PC in 2023, including Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 and USB Type-C connectivity.

It’s official – Microsoft has made the move to scrap Cortana in Windows 11, as promised a while back. If you recall, back in June, Microsoft let us know that Cortana was going to be killed off later in 2023. We then heard a firm date for that to happen, namely August, and the first sightings of some folks seeing Cortana dumped were reported just over a week ago. And now it seems Microsoft is fully pulling support for the digital assistant. Windows Central reports that the deprecation of Cortana is fully underway, and you’ll be notified the assistant is no longer available if you try to access it in Windows 11. Along with that notification, a link is provided to a support page where you can learn more about what’s going on here. The change seems to be rolling out for everyone on Windows 11 now, though some folks may still have access to Cortana – but not for much longer. Cortana will also be getting the elbow from Microsoft Teams later this year, we’re told, and will only remain in Outlook mobile by the time the end of 2023 rolls around. Analysis: Curtains for Cortana across the board Waving goodbye to Cortana won’t be a difficult task for most users. After all, certainly for the general computing po[CENSORED]tion using Windows 11, Cortana wasn’t used much anyway. Microsoft had already angled the digital assistant more towards business use because of this – but Cortana will also be dumped from Microsoft Teams, as well, soon enough. The reason for getting rid of Cortana pretty much everywhere (except Outlook mobile, for some reason) is obvious, and that’s the incoming Windows Copilot AI, a much more ambitious desktop assistant. This will basically be the Bing AI integrated into a side panel in Windows 11, but with a lot of extra abilities to customize Windows settings in various ways, to save you the trouble of having to hunt for these (options that might be buried deep in submenus somewhere). Microsoft’s Copilot is already in test builds of Windows 11 , but right now, it’s still a barebones incarnation of what the software giant has promised. Meaning it’s pretty much just a built-in Bing chatbot with a few very limited powers to mani[CENSORED]te the Windows 11 environment, though Microsoft is going to build out the latter facets considerably going forward. Rumor has it Copilot could debut in Windows 11 23H2, and clearing out Cortana before then would make sense in that light. We still have our doubts that Copilot will be impressive enough to launch in just a few short months though (mind you, Bing AI itself not being ready didn’t stop Microsoft launching the chatbot, either).

Nvidia's codenamed Blackwell family of graphics processors will contain five different GPUs and will lack a direct successor to Nvidia's highly-successful AD104 chip, according to leaks by Chiphell and kopite7kimi (via VideoCardz). The information is unofficial and may be inaccurate, but if true, Nvidia will have to address market segments currently addressed by AD104 with two different GPUs. Apparently, Nvidia's Blackwell family of graphics processors contains five chips codenamed GB202, GB203, GB205, GB206, and GB207. Nvidia's Ada Lovelace family released to date also contains five processors (AD102, AD103, AD104, AD106, AD107), just like the company's Ampere lineup of GPUs (GA102, GA103, GA104, GA106, GA107) that still powers some of the best graphics cards. Meanwhile, Nvidia's Turing family comprised of three members, whereas the Pascal lineup contained five GPUs. It is unclear why Nvidia's Blackwell family is said to feature GB200-series GPUs, but not GB100-series graphics processors. Typically, 200-series represents re-spinned GPUs. Historically, Nvidia's XXX04 served performance-mainstream segment of the market and contained 50% - 66% transistors of the top-of-the-range part. The gap between the high-end and the performance mainstream part was quite noticeable. To fill the gap between its GA102 and GA104 GPUs in the Ampere era, Nvidia introduced GA103 part and did the same with the Ada Lovelace family: there is the AD103 sitting between the AD102 and AD104. While the now Nvidia's lineup no longer has wide gaps, a cut-down AD103 would overlap with the full AD104, which means that Nvidia has to either throw away AD103 GPUs that have one or more defective streaming multiprocessors or even CUDA cores so as not to compete against AD104, or keep them and then use them quietly to substitute AD104, which means cutting them down substantially and not using the whole potential of AD103. Apparently, the company wants to avoid such a situation in the future. As a result, its GB202 will keep addressing the highest-end of the market (e.g., GeForce RTX 5090, GeForce RTX 5090 Ti), its GB203 will address high-end and performance-mainstream segments (e.g., GeForce RTX 5080, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, and GeForce RTX 5070), while GB105 will address mainstream part of the market (GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, GeForce RTX 5060). This will enable Nvidia to use all GB203 silicon that it has even with some defective SMs. Of course, we are speculating here. Nvidia's next-generation Blackwell GPUs are expected to hit the market in late 2024 or early 2025, so the company's plans may change a lot between now and then. Therefore, take this information with a grain of salt for now.

Samsung unveiled the premium Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This year's clamshell foldable phone comes with some software improvements and it has a new hinge that allows for zero gap when folded. Besides the design, the durability of the latest Flex hinge was a big concern for Samsung fans. However, it appears that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is more durable than advertised. A YouTuber has put the flip handset to the test and it managed to last over 4,00,000 folds before seeing any damage on the hinge and display. Samsung's flip phone was compared to Motorola's Razr 40 Ultra, but the latter only lasted 126,266 fold cycles. Polish YouTuber Mrkeybrd and his team ran a livestream durability test of Galaxy Z Flip 5 on their YouTube channel from August 2 to August 9. The "Great Folding Test Vol II" pit the Galaxy Z Flip 5 against the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra to evaluate which handset breaks first. It involved people folding and unfolding each phone as many times as it takes to break one. During the test, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 survived 4,01,146 folds before it failed to stay open or closed. However, despite the damage to the hinge, the display functioned and performance seemed unaffected. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 surpassed 2,67,000 manual folds with ease. The hinge started to show damage after about 2,23,000 folds. The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, on the other hand, started showing problems as early as 43,000 folds and its hinge survived only 1,26,367 folds. Samsung claimed that the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 can withstand 2,00,000 folds. However, the current test surpassed the company's own estimates. The Youtuber also tested the water resistance level of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. He submerged the handset in water and covered it in dust and mud. The foldable has an IPX8 rating for water resistance and that offered protection against water immersion, but it didn't perform well against dust. The live stream is no longer available on YouTube. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 costs Rs. 99,999 for the 256GB storage model in India. It will go on sale in the country on August 11. Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5 features Armor Aluminum frames and sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,640 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex inner display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED folder-shaped cover display as well. The foldable is equipped with a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, coupled with 8GB of onboard memory. A dual rear camera unit, comprising two 12-megapixel sensors, a 10-megapixel selfie camera, and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging support are the other key specifications of the handset.

The wonder of the right-click function never ceases to amaze me. Though it feels like a basic part of the Windows 11 experience and something that everyone knows how to do, it’s so integral at this point that we’d likely feel partially incapacitated if it were taken away. It has countless applications, far beyond copy-and-pasting, sorting files, and personalizing your display settings. You’re also able to customize some right-click menus, making it a very versatile tool – but that’s an article for another time. For now, let’s talk about the secret start menu that gives you quick access to important settings and features that power users often utilize. However, that doesn’t mean that it won’t come in handy to general users as well. In fact, some of the shortcuts in the menu, like Device Manager and File Explorer, will be very useful. So even if you’re really only using your computer or laptop for browsing the internet, streaming your favorite shows, or sending out emails, this secret start menu in Windows 11 is something you should know (and use). What’s this secret menu for? The secret start menu in Windows 11 is geared more towards power users, allowing them quick access to things they regularly use like the Computer Management window, Disk Management, and the Terminal app. Instead of going through the Start Menu and accessing Settings or doing a search on the Search Bar, they can simply access them with just a click (or rather, a right click). However, it’s not really just for power users. Whether you’re just a general user or someone who uses Windows 11 regularly for your work, this secret menu is a great way to do things like open File Explorer, uninstall apps (via Installed apps), access Settings, update and restart your PC, and even put it to sleep. You want to access your desktop with just a click instead of closing or minimizing all your open windows? There’s an option for that as well. How to access this secret menu? It may be a hidden feature that’s not known to casual users, but it’s fairly easy to find. All you need to do is hover your pointer over the Start button (for those who don’t know what that is, it’s the Windows 11 icon on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen) but instead of clicking on it, right-click instead. Doing so will give you the options I’ve talked about above and more. Easy-peasy!

Chinese tech giants Baidu, TikTok owner ByteDance, and e-commerce giant Alibaba are seemingly orchestrating a run on Nvidia's professional AI GPUs. Following June reports detailing how ByteDance had already locked-in $1 billion worth of Nvidia GPUs (to be delivered throughout 2023), word on the wire (courtesy of The Financial Times) now adds four times that amount for GPU deliveries entering well into 2024. If $5 billion is what it takes for Chinese companies to mitigate the impacts of Western restrictions (led by the U.S.), then $5 billion (and more) is what they're willing to spend. According to FT, the GPU purchases are for Nvidia's A800 chips - a custom-designed piece of hardware developed exclusively for the Chinese market. Because these have lower performance, they skirt the October-imposed US restrictions on selling high-tech chips that China could use for military or AI training purposes. And it's hardly the only chip designed with the sole intention of complying with trade restrictions - the company's H100 accelerator too has been tweaked in order for Nvidia to be able to sell it (resulting in the H800). Nvidia, for its part, didn't have much to add to the reports of its custom Chinese GPUs being akin to Midas' touch: a spokesperson merely said that this is business as usual, and that it's customary for these transactions to occur months in advance. Semiconductor manufacturers such as TSMC alocate production wafers among clients sometimes years before their latest process technologies are even ready to produce the high-tech cookies. The news confirms China's intention to insulate itself from increasingly limiting import restrictions imposed by (mostly) western powers. While the actual impact of the restrictions is subject to debate, there's no denying the increasing investment in High Performance Computing (HPC) accelerators. As Chinese companies unwind their own AI-based products to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude (as well as the rabbit-like replication of Software as a Service solutions that leverage API connections to these AI chatbots), there's only one way their computing needs to go: up. And while $4 billion is definitely higher than $1 billion, it's unlikely China's Big Tech stops there: there's a healthy chunk of the projected $3.3 trillion AI market waiting to be monetized within its shores.

Musician Name:Simony Benelli Galasso Birthday / Location: July 1, 1976 (47 years old) São Paulo, SP Brazilian Main instrument: Pop Musician Picture: Musician Awards & Nominations:- Best Performance: - Other Information: Simony Benelli Galasso (São Paulo, July 1, 1976), better known as Simony, is a Brazilian singer and presenter. She is notorious for being a former member of Turma do Balão Mágico, an attraction presented by her and other members during the mornings of TV Globo between 1983 and 1986, selling more than 10 million records. Simony was born in São Paulo, in a po[CENSORED]r housing project by Cohab. From a poor family, at the age of 3, he accompanied the family of singers, as he lived in his grandfather's circus. That's when she insisted that her mother, Maricleuza Benelli, take her to the Raul Gil program, where she made several appearances after a successful first performance. Finally, in 1983, she was invited alongside Fofão (Orival Pessini), Cascatinha (Castrinho), Tob, Michael Biggs (Mike) and, years later, Jairzinho, to present the program Balão Mágico, on TV Globo. , which would consecrate her. It debuted on March 7, 1983 on the mornings of Rede Globo, the children's A Turma do Balão Mágico or simply Balão Mágico, when it led the audience for 3 years in a row. Simony soon became the little princess of Globo and aroused the love of several short people at that time. Between concerts and interviews, the group managed to sell more than 10 million copies, in just 5 LP's released. She was also part of the cast of the program Fofão. Fofão is a fictional character played by Orival Pessini, who became very po[CENSORED]r among Brazilian children in the 1980s. In the program Balão Mágico, Fofão made his first appearance in 1983. Initially, he did not speak, he only made sounds that were interpreted by Simony. With the success of the character, who increasingly gained space on the show, Orival Pessini created the doll Fofinho, which reached many sales. It was absolute success. Simony joined the band at age 6, partnering with Tob until 1984, when Tob recorded his last LP. Despite the age difference (5 years), she and Tob formed a beautiful duo, scoring hits such as "Se enamora", "PR Você", "Mãe dam um dinheirinho", "Você e eu" etc. Thus, Simony got to know the fame and affection from all over Brazil. With 3 years of Magic Balloon, his companion Tob started to show signs of entering adolescence, going through voice changes and becoming noticeably taller than the other children. CBS, the group's record label, thought this could be a problem and made an important decision: It dropped Tob from the group. Leaving the band the following year, he recorded a solo LP, without success. After that, the Magic Balloon began to decay, as it lost one of its original members. Jairzinho was left with the task of forming a pair with Simony, but this duet lasted only 2 Balão's LPS's (since, in the 1985, there is almost no singular presence of the members, and yes, appeal to the choir), and when the band ended , in 1986, CBS made a new plan for the two.
