  3. Musician Name: Niall James Horan Birthday / Location: September 13, 1993 (age 29) Mullingar, Westmeath Ireland Main instrument: Pop Pop rock folk-pop Musician Picture: Musician Awards & Nominations:- Best Performance: - Other Information: Niall James Horan (Mullingar, September 13, 1993), better known as Niall Horan is an Irish singer and songwriter. He became known as a member of the boy band One Direction. In 2010, Horan auditioned as a solo contestant on British competition The X Factor. After being phased out as solo artists, Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson were reunited in a band. After the band's hiatus in 2016, Horan signed a deal as a solo artist with Capitol Records. Her singles "This Town" and "Slow Hands" from her debut studio album, Flicker (2017) reached the top 20 in several countries. The album debuted at number one in Ireland and the US, as well as charting in the top three in Australia and the UK. He embarked on the Flicker Sessions Tour (2017) and the Flicker World Tour (2018) in support of the album. Niall was born on September 13, 1993 in Mullingar in Ireland. He is the son of Maura Gallagher and Bobby Horan, and has an older brother named Greg, his parents separated when he was a child. Horan studied at Coláiste Mhuiri and Congrenation of Christian Brothers, at this time he participated in the choir. Horan tried to play the guitar that his brother played for Christmas, but he wasn't able to play it. Horan, then 11 years old, learned to play the guitar by following YouTube tutorials. Her aunt discovered her talent one day when she was in the car with Niall when he started singing. She originally thought the radio was on. As a teenager, he performed at the Mullingar Arts Center during a fundraiser for the local football team, the Shamrocks. He was also landing a support spot with former X Factor contestant Lloyd Daniels at the Academy club in Dublin. As a child, he showed an interest in music after his family gave him a guitar for Christmas. He also aspired to be "a big name", like Beyoncé and Justin Bieber, and cites Michael Bublé as one of his biggest influences.

  7. The Vivo X90s is launching next week and ahead of its debut, a third-party retailer has leaked the storage options for the upcoming phone. The VivoX90s will reportedly be launched in three RAM and storage configurations. It is tipped to come with UFS 4.0 storage. Along with the memory details, the leak has also revealed the colour variants among other aspects of the Vivo handset. The smartphone may launch in four different colour options. However, the pricing and availability for the Vivo X90s are yet to be revealed. According to a report by The Tech Outlook, the upcoming Vivo X90s has been spotted on Chinese third-party retail website JD.com, revealing its storage variants and a few other details. The phone will reportedly come in three RAM and storage configurations — 8GB RAM+256GB storage, 12GB RAM+256GB storage and the top-end variant with 12GB RAM+512GB storage. The listing suggests that Vivo has dropped the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration for the upcoming Vivo X90s. This also means that all Vivo X90s variants will come with UFS 4.0 storage. As for the colour variants, the Vivo X90s will be available in four colours – black, red, white and a refreshed green shade. Previous leaks and rumours have suggested that the Vivo X90s could come with a more powerful processor than the Vivo X90. The smartphone is likely to ship with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Vivo has also shared a glimpse of the smartphone, revealing a white colour variant and Zeiss-branded triple rear cameras along with an LED flash module. Earlier, the Vivo X90s was also spotted on a TENAA listing, hinting a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels. Additionally, the primary rear camera on Vivo X90s is rumoured to be a 50-megapixel sensor while the other two cameras could be a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom.
  8. After years of speculation, Apple finally unveiled the Apple Vision Pro VR headset at WWDC 2023, and initial reactions to the upcoming hardware have ranged from “I need this yesterday” to “Why does this exist?” On the one hand, this standalone VR hardware is likely to be more capable than any of the current best VR headsets. On the other, it costs significantly more than the competition and doesn’t yet have any must-have software to justify its impressive specs. However, VR app creators could help to change this, now that the first visionOS beta has launched. Since the software will be key to the Vision Pro’s success, I spoke with the people behind some of the best VR games out there – studios such as Purple Yonder, Mighty Coconut, and Schell Games – to get their thoughts on the Apple VR headset and the sorts of projects they might want to create for it. And it turns out that Apple’s innovative hardware is both a blessing and a curse. Validation Every developer I spoke to about the Vision Pro began by expressing the same view as Charlie Amis from Schell Games, the team behind titles such as Among Us VR and I Expect You To Die. “I'm excited by the validation this device brings to all of our efforts.” These developers and the players who love their games have been championing VR for years; but despite all the great things they and hardware makers such as Meta, Sony, and HTC have achieved, there remain those on the outside who continue to dismiss VR as a fad. Now that Apple – one of the most recognizable, if not the most recognizable tech companies – is entering the VR game, all of the haters are eating their words. Sure, Apple has a few flops to its name (Newton and the HomePod, to name a couple), but its successful innovations have undeniably sculpted the consumer tech landscape into what it is today. As such, if Apple is making moves in VR then everyone needs to pay attention – and it doesn’t appear to be only entering the space, it’s going all-out, diving head-first into the deep end. The uber-powerful Vision Pro will arrive in 2024 to show folks exactly what VR is capable of. Two follow-up gadgets (which include a more budget-friendly option) are reportedly set to follow soon after, around late 2024 or 2025. The people I spoke to felt Apple clearly wants the Vision Pro and its successors to become part of its core lineup, and they’re optimistic about how this dedication will impact the VR space. One benefit they predict is that the Vision Pro could help to get more people into VR, but not in the way you think. The developers I interviewed acknowledged that the $3,499 (around £2,800 / AU$5,300) price makes the device inaccessible to a large number of people, although many could still get the opportunity to try it out and fall in love with immersive experiences. As was noted by a few developers, a huge advantage for Apple is its in-person stores in many major cities across the globe. They’d be surprised if the company didn’t use some space within to set up dedicated VR testing areas. Even if people might not be willing to splash out on a $3,500 headset having given it a try, they might instead decide to spend $300 / £300 / AU$509.99 on an Oculus Quest 2, or pick up one of another of the headsets out there – albeit without some of the Vision Pro’s innovations. Is the juice worth the squeeze? That being said, while the Apple Pro’s innovative features and design have developers intrigued, they do come as something of a double-edged sword. A big departure for the Vision Pro next to its rivals is that it will only use hand-tracking; there are no controllers included in the box as far as we know. What’s more, it will be an all-new version of hand-tracking that relies on eye-tracking to create a more accurate and intuitive system, which is different from the method used by other VR systems. This means that despite developers having existing VR software that would be a great fit for the Apple Vision Pro, porting it over won't be a simple task. Mighty Coconut’s Lucas Martell and Don Carson, two of the people behind the must-play Walkabout Mini Golf, are already trying to come up with solutions. One approach they floated during our chat was to perhaps start with the upcoming iOS release of Walkabout rather than the VR one – with the first visionOS beta showing it’s fairly easy to port a basic version of an iOS app to Apple’s VR operating system. The app’s touch-control menus could be adapted to support the Vision Pro’s hand-tracking, and as for the virtual golf club, Martell joked that the headset might be able to track a wooden spoon held by the players and translate its movement into VR. At the same time, there’s the question among some creators of if the juice is going to be worth the squeeze. When PlayStation VR 2 launched, it made sense for developers to port their games to it – the previous iteration of Sony's headset proved po[CENSORED]r, so the follow-up would likely be too. In addition, its controller layout is pretty much identical to what’s used by the Quest 2, Pico 4, and other VR headsets. Porting titles to Apple’s headset will likely require more effort because it has a different setup, yet it isn’t yet clear if it will have a large enough user base to justify the developers putting in the work. It’s also unclear if VR gaming will click with the Vision Pro’s audience. Purple Yonder (the crew behind Little Cities and Synapse) noted that the Vision Pro is being billed as a spatial computing platform. Apple’s Vision Pro introduction video compares the headset to a PC and a traditional home entertainment setup, which will enable you to be productive, watch films and play games on a large virtual screen. Immersive experiences were mentioned, but more as a way to enhance these AR apps rather than a dedicated VR experience like what’s offered by these developers’ games. As such, rather than porting existing software over to Vision Pro, developers might want to create new apps that take advantage of its increased processing power and mixed-reality focus. The Apple Vision Pro is for 3D artists Even if the Vision Pro doesn’t turn out to be a fan favorite, and its focus doesn’t quite fit the games these developers want to produce, they seem keen to pick up a few to at least use it to work on games for other platforms. Creative industries are a key focus for Apple’s tech – just look at gadgets such as the upcoming Apple Mac Studio M2 (2023), and the recent arrival of Apple’s video and audio editing software on iPad. But working on flat 2D screens isn’t always the best idea if you’re trying to create an immersive 3D environment that players can explore. This is the reason I was told that many of these creatives’ projects start with VR sketches, which the game designers can easily explore from a first-person perspective. Assuming the visionOS platform gets the relevant software support, the developers said that the Vision Pro’s powerful specs could entice them to shift more of their production into VR. Rather than only drawing simple VR sketches before moving over to a PC, they could design, create, test, and launch a whole game without ever taking off the headset. The jury is still out over whether the Vision Pro will be a major commercial success, but in developers' eyes, it’s already a winner – and for them, the 2024 release date couldn’t come soon enough.
  9. Whether or not you grew up in the 90s, you’re bound to recognize the po[CENSORED]r pocket-sized virtual pet platform Tamagotchi. These battery-powered devices put a digital creature at the mercy of your care, expecting you to play with it, feed it and clean up after it. You can still find Tamagotchis on the market today and their Digimon counterparts. However, robotics fanatic Kevin McAleer has gone one step further and made his own from scratch using our favorite microcontroller, the Raspberry Pi Pico. His custom creation has been officially dubbed the Picotamachibi. According to Kevin, the name is derived from a few words. Pico comes from the Raspberry Pi Pico controlling the operation. ‘Tama’ is taken from Tamagotchi, while ‘chibi’ is taken from the Japanese term ‘chibi kyara’ (ちびキャラ) or ‘tiny character.’ Kevin explains that this custom Pico pet was programmed using MicroPython. The device is very similar in design to an original Tamagotchi. It has an OLED display with graphics depicting a tiny virtual creature. A menu bar has various icons that you can use to interact with and care for your virtual pet. The sprites aren’t static either; you can expect subtle movements and animations while in use. Kevin designed the housing for the Picotamachibi from scratch and 3D printed it. You can use either a Raspberry Pi Pico or a Raspberry Pi Pico W for the project, as wireless connectivity isn’t a necessary component. He’s using three tact switches for the input buttons and an SSD1306 OLED display which has a resolution of 128 x 64px. The three buttons are A, B, and X. The A button is used for rotating through the menu options in the top bar. The B button selects an item while the X button cancels it. A little skull icon will appear when your virtual pet’s health is compromised. Kevin has a video breaking down the code used in this project on his official YouTube channel. If you want to recreate this Raspberry Pi project and make your virtual pet, check out the full blog post on his website. Be sure to follow Kevin for future updates and more cool robotic creations.

  15. Redmi is reportedly working on Note 13 series smartphones. The Chinese mobile manufacturing company unveiled the Redmi Note 12 series this year. The series includes both 4G and 5G models. All the Note 12 series handsets carry high-quality AMOLED displays. After the 5G models were released in January, the lineup has also seen the addition of models like the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition and the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. Now, a report suggests that the company is looking to release the another series as the successor to the Redmi Note 12 lineup. According to an ITHome report, a new Redmi model was spotted on the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) website. It is therefore being speculated that the model could be one from the purported Redmi Note 13 series, which is likely to succeed the Redmi Note 12 series. However, there is no additional information available officially, or even through industry leaks. It is advisable to take this bit of news with a pinch of salt. Xiaomi, Redmi's parent company, launches smartphones under different monikers. In India, many Redmi phones released first in China have been rebranded and launched as Poco smartphones, which is also a Xiaomi subsidiary. It is also unlikely that the company will launch the Redmi Note 13 models in the market anytime soon. The Note 12 series models and all its variants are still relatively new in the space. As is the trend with most phone manufacturing companies, two successive series usually get a gap of at least a year in between their releases. It can be assumed that Redmi Note 13 series will most probably be available towards the beginning of 2024. Launched in January, the Redmi Note 12 5G smartphones included the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G models. The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the base model is priced in India at Rs. 17,999. The mid-range Pro model is marked at Rs. 24,999 for its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, while the high-end Pro+ starts at Rs. 29,999 for its 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option. In March, Redmi introduced the Note 12 4G which is listed at EUR 229 (roughly Rs. 20,400) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G was unveiled in April and was marked at IDR 4,599,000 (roughly Rs. 25,000) for its base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option.
  16. Windows 11’s feature update known as Moment 3 arrived last month, didn’t it? Well technically, yes, but the update hasn’t been piped to everyone, only some users; it’ll fully roll out next month. So, what exactly is going on here? As Windows Latest points out, the folks who have already got Moment 3 features as part of June’s cumulative update (released 10 days ago) are those who have turned on the ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available’ option (under Windows Update settings). What seems to be happening, going by other reports and user feedback we’ve seen online (on top of Windows Latest’s findings), is that this is a gradual (phased) rollout, with those who have flicked that particular setting on being prioritized. Others are getting the June update but without Moment 3 features enabled. However, come next month, everyone is going to get Moment 3 features fully enabled on their Windows 11 PC, with the July cumulative update (due on July 11, ‘Patch Tuesday’). Windows Latest observes: “We have also spotted references to Patch Tuesday of July 2023 having the Moment 3 improvements turned on by default.” Indeed, the same is true for the optional update for June, which is about to turn up. That’s the July patch in test (preview) form, so it’s the same content, but with the proviso that it might come with some bugs (as with any early release). Analysis: many Moments so far… If you’ve been reading about Moment 3 and its raft of new features – and some of them are pretty cool, including our five favorites we picked out here – you might also be wondering why you hadn’t got these yet. Well, now you know, and it’s not long before this phased rollout will be opened up to everyone running Windows 11. You’ll have Moment 3 features by mid-July at the latest. Since Microsoft introduced the idea of Moments – which are feature updates outside of the big annual feature drop, and are necessary since the two major feature updates per year cadence (H1, H2) was reduced to one (H2) – the company has been pushing them out at some pace. We only had Moment 2 in February, so it was just four months afterwards that the Moment 3 rollout kicked off. Of course, all attention will now be turning towards 23H2 – the major annual update for this year – which should bring in all sorts of goodies. Including, we hope, ‘never combine’ for the taskbar, and maybe Microsoft’s Copilot AI, which is certainly rumored for inclusion (though we have our doubts – that’ll likely depend on how well testing goes, which should start later this month).
  17. Intel has shared a new poster on Bilibili that officially confirms the existence of a Raptor Lake refresh. The new CPU lineup will take on Intel’s existing Intel Core i series nomenclature and arrive as 14th Generation products. The new refresh will consist of two CPU platforms, one for desktop and one for mobile, including S series and HX/U series parts for high performance and ultrabook laptops. We first heard about Raptor Lake Refresh all the way back in 2022 when an Intel roadmap was leaked online. The leaked roadmap revealed consumer and workstation desktop CPU lineups with 35W - 125W TDPs, however the roadmap was leaked so there was a chance it was faced. However, several months later the leak was compounded by motherboard BIOS updates featuring support for “next generation” Intel CPUs, which effectively confirmed its existence. The BIOS updates proved this because Intel’s next generation CPU architecture, Meteor Lake, will use a brand new socket, making current motherboard compatibility impossible. The one thing leaks and rumors did not account for was a Raptor Lake refresh for mobile CPUs as well as desktop. Intel’s new poster now confirms that the new refresh will be arriving to both platforms, specifically featuring high performance HX-series mobile parts and low-power U-series parts. But strangely, the U-series parts will come with an entirely different nomenclature and be named “Intel Core 1st generation processor” instead of 14th gen. According to a Q&A answer, Intel is doing this because the U-series parts will be coming out at a later date, it doesn’t explain why Intel is not switching to its newly announced Core Ultra nomenclature instead. Intel still has not published performance benchmarks or CPU specs for its Raptor Lake refreshed parts, but if it's like any traditional Intel refresh, we can expect these CPUs to feature modest bumps in clock speed and some additional changes that will boost speed, and functionality. For example, Intel might boost clock speeds on all the parts, and change around the core count for some models to make them stand out from previous generation Raptor Lake (vanilla) and Alder Lake chips. We still don’t have a official release date, but previous leaks estimate that the first wave of K series chips will arrive as early as 2023. Intel has not confirm this, but we can expect these chips to launch this soon since BIOS updates are already going live to current 700 series motherboards supporting Intel’s new processors.

  24. Windows 11 has a new preview build, this time in the Release Preview channel, which introduces a whole bunch of changes – both good and bad. Most of this stuff has already been seen in earlier test builds (Canary, Dev, or Beta channels), and Windows 11 build 22621.1926 (KB5027303) represents all these features progressing towards release. Now that they’re in Release Preview, this is the final step before these various features turn up in the full version of Windows 11 at some point in the near(ish) future. So, let’s get the bad news out of the way first, namely that Microsoft has announced in the blog post for this preview build that adverts (which the company calls ‘badging’ – we’ll come back to that) on the Start menu are moving towards a broader rollout. Microsoft explains: “This update expands the roll out of notification badging for Microsoft accounts on the Start menu. A Microsoft account is what connects Windows to your Microsoft apps. The account backs up all your data and helps you to manage your subscriptions.” The company adds: “This feature gives you quick access to important account-related notifications.” With that out of the way, the better news that caught our eye for gamers is that improved mouse performance is on the way. Microsoft tells us that when using a mouse with a high polling rate – so any of the contenders for best gaming mouse in other words, designed for accurate and precise mousing – you’ll now get better performance. This is thanks to any stuttering being reduced for these kinds of mice, so that’s a big thumbs-up there. Another interesting point to note with this preview build is a broad assertion that: “This update affects the reliability of Windows. It improves after you update the OS.” Anything that ushers in better stability must be a good thing too, naturally. Analysis: an ominous sign It’s great to see the improvement for high polling rate gaming mice, which will help not just for shooters – where you might typically think accuracy is crucial, and of course, it is – but also for, say, real-time strategy games. The ability to smoothly mouse around and quickly and precisely select units, for example, can’t be underestimated. Whatever game you play, smoother and more accurate mouse movement is a major plus point. What’s bugging us here is the continued push with badging in the Start menu. Badging is a term Microsoft employs which basically translates to light-touch advertising. Yes, the company might argue these are simply nudges to help you sort out various elements of your computing life related to Windows, but really, they’re thinly veiled ads to use Microsoft products and services. In this case, the cajoling is to push you towards signing up for a Microsoft Account, with Windows 11 telling you about the security (and other) benefits of doing so in these notifications which appear in the Start menu. The expanded rollout of this badging previously happened in the Dev channel, but the fact that it has carried forward to the final preview stage before the release version of Windows 11 is rather ominous. This further progression of the rollout in testing suggests that this is something Microsoft is determined to forge ahead with. If that does indeed play out, we can only hope that Microsoft gives users an option to disable this kind of ‘help’ feature (but we aren’t holding our breath on that score).
  25. Intel today announced it has agreed to sell an approximately 20% stake in IMS Nanofabrication to Bain Capital, a private equity firm, valuing IMS at approximately $4.3 billion. Intel first invested in IMS in 2019 and acquired the Vienna, Austria-based business in 2015. IMS makes important chip-making tools, and works specifically on multi-beam mask writing, which has been helpful for leading-edge semiconductor nodes using extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV). IMS will continue to be led by chief executive officer Dr. Elmar Platzgummer and will operate as a standalone subsidiary. "The advancement of lithography is critical to driving continued progress in the semiconductor industry, and mask writing plays a central role in the industry’s transition to new patterning technologies, such as high-NA EUV," said Matt Poirier, senior vice president of corporate development at Intel in a press release. "Bain Capital’s investment and partnership will provide IMS with increased independence and bring strategic perspective to help accelerate the next phase of lithography technology innovation, ultimately benefitting the ecosystem as a whole." Intel suggests that the "increased independence" will help fast-track more innovation in lithography and that it will ultimately help the "ecosystem as a whole" by fostering collaboration across the industry. Intel's sale of the minority stake is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023. This year, IMS is expected to launch MBMW-301, a fourth-generation multi-beam mask writer. Later today, Intel is expected to provide updates on its internal foundry plans. It's unclear if this announcement was dropped because it will have an effect on this news. Intel's stock was down slightly in morning trading.
