  3. Windows 10 has a new optional update which delivers some valuable fixes, most notably one that will be a huge relief to the minority of gamers who have been affected by crashing issues. Microsoft has just pushed out patch KB4598291 for Windows 10 May 2020 Update and October 2020 Update, which is a ‘C’ release preview currently, meaning it’s optional – so you’ll have to search for it (in Windows Update) to grab the fixes. Check out the best PC games How to speed up Windows 10 How to uninstall a Windows 10 update That glitch affecting gamers is a nasty gremlin indeed, in that it causes your PC to crash or lock up when gaming full-screen (or in tablet mode for that matter). This is seemingly not a bug affecting many users, as Windows Latest, which spotted the patch, points out, but obviously if you are among those hit by the problem, it will doubtless be seriously frustrating.

  5. Intel's Z590 platform is finally official and so are the 11th Gen Rocket Lake Desktop CPUs. All major board makers unveiled their full 500-series lineup today with MSI being one of them. Well, MSI has sent us their MPG Z590 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi motherboard to give you an early preview of what to expect from the upcoming motherboard compared to the Z490 series. MSI MPG Z590 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi Motherboard Previewed, Designed For Intel 11th Gen Rocket Lake CPUs & Improves Upon Z490 In All Possible Ways The MSI Z590 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi motherboard is part of the MPG or Massive Performance Gaming lineup. This motherboard is the mid-point in MSI's Gaming motherboard lineup. As with every other Z590 motherboard, the Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi rocks the LGA 1200 CPU socket that supports both 10th Gen and 11th Gen Intel Core Desktop CPUs. Surrounding the CPU socket is an 18 phase power delivery with Titanium chokes and solid caps that can sustain heavy power draw. The CPU socket itself is powered by dual 8-pin connectors & the motherboard receives power through the 24-pin ATX connector. The VRM features a high-density thermal pad to dissipate heat off the power delivery system effectively. In addition to it, both heatsinks are interconnected by a heat pipe which ensures proper thermal load balancing for the VRMs. The larger set of the heatsink is mostly hidden beneath the rear panel I/O plate which have the large MSI Dragon logo and also a silver emblem plate with the MSI branding. There are 4 DDR4 DIMM slots on the motherboard which are designed to support up to 128 GB memory capacities and speeds nearing up to 5000 MHz (OC+). Expansion slots on the motherboard include three full-length PCIe x16 slots of which the topmost is Gen 4 compliant while the rest are Gen 3.0. They also run at x16/x8/x4 link speeds. The top two PCIe x16 slots are shielded by a metal cover and have added retention points which add durability and avoid unnecessary tearing of the PCIe slot. The motherboard also comes with triple M.2 slots of which one is a Lightning Gen 4 slot that offers Gen 4x4 speeds while the remaining two offer 3x4 speeds. All M.2 slots are covered by M.2 Shield Frozr heatsinks. The Z590 PCH on the MSI MPG Z590 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi sits beneath a large heatsink which is a solid aluminum plate. The PCH cover has the carbon fiber texturing and the 'Carbon' monogram. The motherboard comes with 6 SATA III ports, a single USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.0 & dual USB 3.0 front panel headers. There's an additional 6-pin auxiliary power connector for the PCIe lanes. The board also comes with an LED on and off switch and 4 RGB headers, 8 fan headers. The rear panel I/O on the motherboard includes 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 (1 Type-C), 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type-A), 2 USB 3.0, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a 2.5 GbE LAN, WiFi 6E support with 2 antenna bars, a Flash BIOS button and a 7.1 channel HD audio jack. Compared to the Z490 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi, the Z590 version offers a better power system, more cooling in the form of beefier heatsinks for the VRMs and M.2 slots, enhanced Gen 4.0 support, and far better I/O. The motherboard is expected to cost around $200-$300 US.

  10. Sapphire Rapids has been rumored for some time, but the closer we get to the expected 2023 launch, the more leaks we are getting. The latest development of the 4th generation Intel's Xeon processors has been the first leaked images of the CPU. Leaker YuuKi-AnS published the first picture of the alleged Sapphire Rapids-SP CPU based on Intel's 10nm process. The chip goes by the codename QVV5 and will be used on the Eagle Stream platform. The big-ticket features are the PCIe 5.0 support as well as DDR5 memory that goes up to 8-channel. Intel's Sapphire Rapids Processors Looks To Be Supported The First Of Many Technologies Including PCIe 5.0 Support And DDR5 8-Channel Memory The current specifications of the next-gen Sapphire Rapids chips are quite impressive with the star being the PCI Express 5.0 support. This would be the first server chip to support PCI Express 5.0. Along with that, it also comes equipped with onboard HBM memory and Compute Express Link 1.1. It is also expected that it will be the first architecture to support DDR5 memory, but a rumor that has developed is that it will support up to 8-channel memory. Intel looks to be shifting entirely to DDR5 on all platforms by the end of 2021 starting with the Alder Lake platform.
  11. In the world of tactical card games, is there any man more revered than Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering? Maybe whoever actually invented cards, but since they're not coming forward to take credit, Garfield holds the top spot. Roguebook is a roguelike deckbuilder (like Slay The Spire, Dicey Dungeons, and Hand of Fate) that counts Garfield as one of its designers, working alongside the developers of Faeria, Abrakam Entertainment, to create a game set in the world of Faeria itself. Roguebook currently has a demo on the Steam Game Festival, available until February 9th, if you want to check it out. The full game has a 24th of June release date on PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming "later". Have you been craving another roguelike deckbuilder? Do you hate having to say "roguelike deckbuilder"? Let us know in the comments.
  12. Viva will help customers reimagine the employee experience Microsoft has launched a new platform to help businesses manage remote work, in a clear signal that the company believes workplace shifts brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic are here to stay. Microsoft Viva will integrate with Teams and operate as a kind of intranet that brings together knowledge, learning, and communication tools. “Today we’re introducing Microsoft Viva, the first [Employee Experience Platform] built for the digital era,” explained Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365. “Microsoft Viva brings together communications, knowledge, learning, resources, and insights into an integrated experience that empowers people and teams to be their best, from anywhere. Powered by the full breadth and depth of Microsoft 365, it is experienced through Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft 365 apps that people use every day.” Here's our list of the best video conferencing services around We've also built a list of the best business webcams And we've ranked the best headsets for conference calls The new normal Microsoft is clearly betting big that flexible work policies will remain in place even once the pandemic is over. The company has worked to add new features to its Teams platform throughout the COVID-19 crisis and has seen user figures rise continuously as a result. Viva will be split into four sections: Connections, Insights, Topics, and Learning. Viva Connections aims to provide a gateway into the employee experience, serving as a branded news portal and a home for company resources. Insights, meanwhile, helps companies to better manage employee wellbeing by supplying data and insights for individuals, managers, and leaders regarding work patterns and trends. Viva Learning, unsurprisingly, is geared towards employee development and allows members of staff to share, assign, and learn from an organization’s training material. It should also help speed up the onboarding process. Finally, Topics uses artificial intelligence to help employees find existing information, organizing content across systems and teams more efficiently. Viva is launching today, with Topics available immediately and previews launching for the other sections. If Microsoft is right, and remote working does persist beyond the pandemic, you might be hearing a lot more about Viva in the future.
  13. Gigabyte just like every other major manufacturer is getting ready for the launch of AMD's Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card. The manufacturer has submitted a whole slew of custom and reference designs at EEC which confirm 12 GB GDDR6 memory and the several variants that we can expect at launch. Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Custom Graphics Cards Spotted, Come in AORUS, Gaming, Eagle & Reference Flavors A total of six variants were listed of which five are custom designs and one is the reference model that we have already seen in previous leaks. The Gigabyte lineup consists of the Radeon RX 6700 XT AORUS which is going to be the top model and that's followed by the Gaming (OC) & the Eagle (OC) series. Given the more recent launches, we have seen that the AORUS variants were launched a bit late compared to the standard Gigabyte offerings so that could be the case with the RX 6700 XT too and the top variant might launch later
