Decorated dog sculptures have turned Canary Wharf into Canary Woof with the opening of a canine public art trail. Paws on the Wharf, organised by Guide Dogs and Wild in Art, showcases the work of 25 artists and aims to raise awareness about sight loss. Sixteen of the sculptures are in Canary Wharf itself and nine in the wider Tower Hamlets borough. The pieces will be auctioned after the exhibition closes with the proceeds going to the charity. The decorated dogs include Bark to the Future, based around old science fiction tin toys from the 1950s; Dog Stars - a tribute to service dogs of the past; and Jurassic Bark - a scaly horned dino-dog. Thirteen activists were arrested Tuesday morning outside the Supreme Court, ahead of oral arguments in a case that could dramatically limit access to mifepristone, a widely used abortion pill. At approximately 8:45 a.m. EDT, U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) arrested 13 people who, a police spokesperson said in a statement, were “illegally blocking roads and then a walkway.” The spokesperson added that USCP officers warned the group to stop “blocking the walkway or they would be arrested.” “They refused, so our officers arrested them,” they said, citing crowding, obstructing, or incommoding as possible offenses. The momentous Supreme Court case drew fierce demonstrations from both sides of the debate, as the nation’s highest court returned to the issue of reproductive rights nearly two years after its landmark decision to overturn Roe v. Pero quizá lo más interesante es que ya tenemos la oportunidad de ocultar determinados juegos de forma individual a nuestros amigos. Precisamente esto es lo que os vamos a enseñar a hacer a continuación. Lo único que necesitamos es descargar e instalar el cliente de la tienda online en nuestro PC y lo loguearnos para poder acceder a nuestra cuenta. Si no has visto nada de Unicorn Overlord y te digo que se le nota la influencia de juegos como Ogre Battle o Final Fantasy Tactics es muy probable que te hagas una idea equivocada del juego. Es casi seguro que después de leer esto lo primero que venga a tu mente sea un juego de estrategia que gira en una cuadrícula donde tu tarea es mover a tus unidades como si se tratara de un tablero de ajedrez. Nada está más alejado de la realidad. Más que seguir la línea de un Fire Emblem, Unicorn Overlord apuesta por una cadencia similar a la de un RTS, pero con mecánicas que se acercan más a la escuela de los RPG tácticos japoneses. Eso quiere decir que irás desplegando diferentes escuadrones y después podrás seleccionarlos para indicarles hacia donde moverse: puede ser para derrotar a un enemigo; atacar fuera de combate; retirar trampas o recuperar el control de un pueblo. La velocidad de cada escuadrón depende de las unidades que la conforman (después te cuento más al respecto), pero eres libre de moverlos hacia cualquier lugar en el momento que decidas. Este sistema de movilidad hace que Unicorn Overlord se sienta como una propuesta fresca del género. Si bien hubo títulos que intentaron algo similar antes, Vanillaware supo ejecutarlo de una forma fantástica al entregarte la sensación de que cada movimiento importa. Puede parecer fácil, pero la estrategia va más allá de únicamente mover unidades: tienes que analizar qué está pasando en el campo de batalla; ubicar a los enemigos e identificar cuáles elementos del mundo te estorban o puedes aprovechar a tu favor. Así pues, estás obligado a analizar situaciones que cambian constantemente. Es intenso, por lo que es lamentable que tenga un problema grave: puede ser difícil seleccionar la unidad correcta en ciertas situaciones. No es un problema que rompa la experiencia, pero incomoda en momentos cruciales. Uno de los puntos brillantes de Unicorn Overlord es que, incluso en su menor nivel de dificultad, comprende que la estrategia nunca se planea en el campo de batalla, sino que se diseña antes de poner un pie en la guerra y, por supuesto, la forma en que mueves a tus unidades y gestionas sus movimientos resulta crucial para que consigas la victoria o termines derrotado. Esto quiere decir que para salir victorioso tendrás que revisar hasta el más minúsculo ajuste de tus tropas, lo cual va mucho más allá de equiparlos con una espada poderosa o darles una armadura inquebrantable. En el campo de batalla de Unicorn Overlord tendrás a tu disposición diferentes escuadrones, cada uno conformado por las unidades que elijas entre las clases. En los primeros combates las opciones de personalización resultan limitadas, pero ese es el punto. Durante las primeras horas, el juego de Vanillaware te toma de la mano para que te familiarices con su sistema de combate y entiendas su rueda de fortalezas y debilidades. Dicho esto, si dejas que tu curiosidad te lleve por los menús de configuración de escuadrón verás que las posibilidades son inmensas. Prácticamente todo lo que configures en tu escuadrón es relevante para su comportamiento en combate. Por ejemplo, vamos a hablar del orden de las unidades: lo ideal es que tengas personajes acorazados al frente y que los más débiles se queden atrás para evitar daño y ser curados. Suena fácil, ¿verdad? Bueno, pues es apenas la punta del iceberg. Además del orden de tus unidades, podrás equiparlas con diferentes habilidades e incluso seleccionar en qué condiciones quieren que se activen. Algunos personajes pueden recibir golpes por sus compañeros, así que puedes elegir si quieres que defiendan a los más débiles o que vayan con quienes tengan menos puntos de vida. Incluso tienes la opción de elegir si quieres que se activen durante ciertas horas del día o bajo un montón de condiciones. Así pues, la esencia de Unicorn Overlord está en el diseño de escuadrones poderosos y aprovecharlos en el combate. El resultado de esta combinación es un juego increíblemente entretenido que te atrapa con un montón de espacio para experimentar y descubrir las combinaciones que mejor funcionan en determinados escenarios. Resulta sumamente satisfactorio tener problemas en un combate y meterte en los menús de configuración para encontrar un ajuste que marque la diferencia. But on a recent Saturday morning, I played six hours of Blizzard Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and I have absolutely no regrets. Hearthstone is a fun and free digital card game set in the Warcraft universe. It deftly combines excellent gameplay, lush designs, and addictive collectibility in a surprisingly strategic game. It's an Editors' Choice for iPad games, and I have to finish this review quickly so I can get back to playing. You Meet at an Inn... Have you partaken in a Blizzard game in the last decade or so? Then you already have the Battle.net account required to play Hearthstone. After logging in, you'll drop right into a highly informative, if somewhat long, tutorial. New players will have to create an account with Blizzard before proceeding. A great thing about Hearthstone is that it's available on so many platforms. I started playing at home on a desktop computer, and then I moved to an iPad Air 2 ($445.00 at eBay) . Hearthstone has excellent cross-platform compatibility, so I now play on my iPhone 6, as well as a Google Nexus 9 ($595.00 at Amazon) . Hearthstone is a hefty download, however. It's best to set aside some time before your first game, and definitely download it over Wi-Fi. Taking a game as lushly designed as Hearthstone from tablets to handsets is no mean feat, but Blizzard handled it well and employs only a few subtle real-estate saving strategies. Other menus are artfully compressed, and I never felt like my experience was reduced because I was playing on a smaller screen.
