  1. Tonight's episode of married at fist sight is proving to be a double whammy! Not only is it Dinner Party night, which let’s face it, is the best night of the week thanks to all the drama that it brings, but tonight we also got a special, ever before done in the experiment treat. We got to watch on as each couple saw their partner’s audition tape from the show! And boy were they revealing! Let’s take Stacey and Michael’s for example… Michael's wasn’t all too shocking really. In his tape, he was pretty cocky, told the producers that he wanted to find a “stereotypical ditzy blonde” with fake lips and fake boobs, and admitted that he can often be flirty with other girls while in a relationship. Shock horror really. But what was a little bit sweet was that after watching back the tape Michael admitted that he’s a completely different person now and he thinks that all it took was finding the right girl (Stacey) to help change him. Then we got to Stacey's tape. Now this was interesting. One of the producers in her audition asked Stacey about all of the designer gear that she was wearing, pointing out her Rolex watch and Givenchy handbag. “How do you afford that?” the producer asked Stacey flat out. Stacey looked pretty uncomfortable before finally admitting, “You might have to ask my ex”, implying that he bought her the expensive items as gifts. Now, we've come to love Stacey throughout this experiment, but at the beginning a lot of people were saying that she seemed like a bit of a gold digger, seeing as she only really started to like Michael on their wedding day after finding out he's loaded. Of course, we’re not saying that she is a gold digger, but she did just admit in her last relationship she had a guy buying her really nice things ... Look it just doesn’t look too good okay! But anyway, that’s how Stacey has designer everything, in case you were wondering. It’s thanks to her ex. Speaking of her ex, Stacey also admitted that she has cheated in a past relationship, admitting that she cheated on her ex after he cheated on her in a ‘tit for tat’ sort of move. This left Michael quite shocked and wondering whether it was still in Stacey’s nature to be vengeful like that. Is it Stacey? Is it? After all, there are rumors circling that Stacey cheated on Michael while he cheated on her with Hayley… Like we said, these audition tapes sure brought up some interesting things ...
  2. Spain’s death toll from the coronavirus has surpassed the official figure from China, becoming the second highest in the world. Deaths have risen by 738 in just 24 hours to a total of 3,434 - a record spike for Spain. In comparison, China has officially reported 3,285 deaths, while Italy – the worst affected country – has 6,820. Spain's prime minister will later ask MPs to extend his country’s state of emergency for another two weeks. Lawmakers are expected to agree to Pedro Sánchez's request for lockdown measures to stay in place until 11 April. Under the rules, people are banned from leaving home except for buying essential supplies and medicines, or for work. What’s the latest from Spain? Figures released by the health ministry on Wednesday show that in just 24 hours, Spain’s national death toll rose by 738. Its number of cases soared by 7,973. These are the highest figures for Spain in a single day. The country now has 47,610 confirmed cases. Catalonia accounts for close to 10,000 of those, while the Basque Country and Andalusia both have more than 3,000 cases. But the worst affected region is the area around the capital Madrid, which has recorded 14,597 cases.

  10. While most Chromebooks ship with the Play store, you might need to update your Chromebook to make these apps appear. Fortunately, Beta doesn't risk as much on a Chromebook as it does any other machine, as the cloud-based nature of Chromebooks means there's little work to do if and when you need to reset your device (moving back to Stable from Beta will wipe your disk). Hopefully, your Chromebook supports this feature now, but here are the current devices that support Android emulation natively in Stable channel, and those that require beta. If an item features an asterisk, it requires a profile migration process, described here. Chromebooks featuring Android apps on the Stable Channel: Acer Chromebook R11 (CB5-132T, C738T) Acer Chromebook Spin 11 (R751T) Acer Chromebook R13 (CB5-312T) * Acer Chromebook 11 N7 (C731, C731T) * Acer Chromebook 11 (C771, C771T) * Acer Chromebook 14 (CB3-431) Acer Chromebook 14 for Work (CP5-471) * Acer Chromebook 15 (CB3-532) * Acer Chromebook 15 (CB515-1HT / 1H) Acer Chromebook 11 (C740) * Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA Asus Chromebook Flip C101PA Asus Chromebook Flip C213 Asus Chromebook C202SA * Asus Chromebook C300SA / C301SA * Asus Chromebook Flip C302 * Dell Chromebook 11 (3180) * Dell Chromebook 11 Convertible (3189) * Dell Chromebook 13 (3380) * Dell Chromebook 13 (7310) * Google Chromebook Pixel (2015) Google Pixelbook HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 EE HP Chromebook 11 G5 EE * HP Chromebook 11 G5 HP Chromebook 13 G1 * Lenovo ThinkPad 11e Chromebook (Gen 4) Lenovo Thinkpad 11e Yoga Chromebook (Gen 4) Lenovo Thinkpad 11e Chromebook (Gen 3) Lenovo ThinkPad 11e Yoga Chromebook (Gen 3) Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook * Lenovo N23 Yoga Chromebook * Lenovo N22 Chromebook * Lenovo N23 Chromebook * Lenovo N42 Chromebook * Lenovo Thinkpad 13 Chromebook * Samsung Chromebook Plus * Samsung Chromebook Pro Samsung Chromebook 3 This list is changing at a rapid pace. Naturally the best performance came on laptops running on the stable channel, such as the Google Pixelbook and Samsung Chromebook Pro, where titles has small hiccups, but nothing too shoddy. Back when we had to put an Acer Chromebook R13 on the beta channel to access the Google Play Store, it ran games and titles with slight choppiness but nothing too bad. As long as you don't demand peak performance - and what Chromebook user does? - this is a beta test worth trying out. The po[CENSORED]r gaming title Asphalt 8 ran a little choppy but was still playable, while the less demanding, but fun PinOut pinball game showed no such lag. Here's how to enable the Beta channel on a Chromebook to get Android apps and the Google Play Store: 1. Click one of the icons in the drawer in the bottom right corner. 2. Select Settings. 3. Click About Chrome OS. 4. Click More info. 5. Click Change channel. 6. Select Beta. 7. Click Change channel. 8. Wait for the Beta release of Chrome to download and restart the computer when prompted. 9. Check the box next to "Enable Google Play Store on your Chromebook." 10. Click Agree. 11. Click Sign In. You've got the Google Play Store on your Chromebook, where you can find and install Android apps.
  11. Purpose-Built Software Provides Means for Information Security Teams to Quickly Identify Vulnerabilities Present in a Work-From-Home Environment As cyberattacks surge during the COVID-19 crisis and information security teams at healthcare providers and their vendors work to manage new vulnerabilities and threats borne from the rapid transition to a remote workforce, Clearwater's IRM | Analysis ™ software is helping more than 400 healthcare customers rapidly identify, prioritize, and respond to cyber risks on an enterprise scale. Designed to facilitate a consistent, information system-focused risk analysis, the software provides the means to assess risk scenarios presented in a work-from-home environment. Using IRM | Analysis, healthcare organizations can re-evaluate the controls that are in place to mitigate the likelihood of a threat exploiting a vulnerability that may exist within information system components that are now in use by remote workers. Risk scenarios embedded within IRM | Analysis include: The Inability to Adequately Respond to Disaster - Lack of Contingency Planning Risk Scenario for the Security and Governance Component The Improper Disclosure or Use of Sensitive Data - Insufficient Personnel Training Risk Scenario for all Internal and External User Components Multiple Scenarios related to any device furnished by the organization to its staff for use at home, such as laptops and cellphones Multiple Scenarios pertaining to whatever External Network Component is used by the organization to provide remote access to internal organizational systems Multiple Scenarios for any Application or Software-as-a-Service Component used by the organization for email, to store or exchange files remotely (eg DropBox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, etc.), exchange text messages (eg Skype, Microsoft Teams , Facebook Messenger, etc.), or conduct remote meetings (eg Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex, etc.) Upon identifying risks, customers can prioritize any risks above their risk threshold and determine whether to accept, transfer, avoid, or mitigate the risk. In cases where organizations decide to implement additional security measures to reduce risk, Clearwater is making its expert Consulting team available to customers at no charge - as capacity permits - to help them thoughtfully consider which risk scenarios they should assess and provide consultation on available options that can be implemented both quickly and in the context of a work-at-home environment.
  12. A second Intel Lakefield processor has finally popped up in the wild. Twitter user @ InstLatX64 recently spotted the Core i5-L15G7 in a Geekbench 5 submission. Based on the model name alone, the Core i5-L15G7 should be a lower-specced model in contrast to the previously-tested Core i5-L16G7. The Core i5-L15G7 chip is listed with five cores, which correspond to one powerful Sunny Cove core and four slower Tremont cores. The compute die should be on the 10nm process while the base die remains on the 22nm process. Intel will build Lakefield with Foveros, a technology that allows stacking different chips on top of each other. Lakefield should debut with TDP (thermal design power) rating between 5W and 7W. One of the first Lakefield chips appeared with a boost clock in the 3.1 GHz range. Subsequently, the Core i5-L16G7 showed up with a 1.4 GHz base and 1.75 GHz boost clock. Geekbench 5 seemingly detects the Core i5-L15G7 with a 1.38 GHz base clock. However, the Lakefield part was running as high as 2.95 GHz during the benchmark. The logical deduction is that the reported clock speeds are for the Sunny Cove core rather than the Tremont ones. Digging deeper into the Geekbench 5 report reveals the Core i5-L15G7's cache configuration, which isn't always visible in the submission itself. The Core i5-L15G7 seems to have 1.5MB of L2 cache and 4MB of L3 cache. The plan behind Lakefield is to combine performance with power efficiency into a single package, similar to Arm's big.LITTLE architecture. Lakefield goes neck-to-neck against Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors. The Snapdragon 835, which powers the Asus NovaGo TP370QL, is equipped with eight Kryo 280 cores, split into two groups of 2.6 GHz and 1.9 GHz. The device scores 355 points in the single-core test and 1,533 points in the multi-core test. In single-core workloads, it's evident that the Core i5-L15G7 is far superior. With a single-core score of 725 points, Intel's Lakefield chip delivers up to 104.2% higher single-core performance than the Snapdragon 835. Multi-core workloads are another story though. The Core i5-L15G7 scored 1,566 points, so it's only 2.2% faster. However, the Core i5-L15G7's multi-threaded performance is no match for Qualcomm's more recent offerings, such as the Snapdragon 8cx that's inside the Samsung Galaxy Book S. For reference, the Snapdragon 8cx rocks eight Kryo 495 cores, four clocked at 2.84 GHz and the remaining at 1.8 GHz. The Samsung Galaxy Book S puts up single-core and multi-core scores of 703 points and 2,770 points. While the Core i5-L15G7 maintains 3.1% single-core lead over the Snapdragon 8cx, Qualcomm's chip ultimately offers up to 76.9% higher performance in multi-threaded workloads. Given that Lakefield is Intel's first generation of Foveros-based chips, the performance doesn't look too bad. The leaked Core i5-L15G7 is unreleased silicon after all, hence Intel still could probably tweak the chip for more performance. Furthermore, Geekbench 5 has often been criticized for its applicability as a benchmarking tool on a whole. We'll just have to wait for a proper evaluation of the Lakefield devices that drop this holiday season.
  13. Jalopnik has run a couple of interesting stories on the experiences a number of people have had after buying used Teslas. It started last month with a story on a man named Alec, who bought a used 2017 Tesla Model S from a used-car dealer last December. The dealer, United Traders, bought the car directly from Tesla at an auction on November 15, 2019. At the time of that auction sale, the Model S had Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self Driving Capability options installed, which the original owner had paid a combined $ 8,000 for, as listed on the Monroney that Tesla gave the dealer. On November 18, Tesla ran an audit of the software in its vehicles, including the Model S now owned by the dealership, and removed Enhanced Autopilot. The automaker did not inform the dealer of the changes to the Model S, so the dealer sold the sedan to Alec on December 20 believing the car contained what was on the Monroney. Alec didn't find out about the removal until January 17, on an invoice he received from a Tesla Service Center after taking the Model S in for repairs. The invoice showed that FSD was removed during a December software update because FSD requires the Autopilot software that Tesla deleted on November 18. When Alec contacted Tesla customer support, the representative told him, "Tesla has recently identified instances of customers being incorrectly configured for Autopilot versions that they did not pay for. Since, there was an audit done to correct these instances. Your vehicle is one of the vehicles that was incorrectly configured for Autopilot. We looked back at your purchase history and unfortunately Full Self Driving was not a feature that you had paid for. We apologize for the confusion. If you are still interested in having those additional features we can begin the process to purchase the upgrade. " The Jalopnik story took off, and Tesla restored Alec's software, blaming "a miscommunication." However, a follow-up piece and posts on Tesla forums show other buyers suffering the same thing. In one case, a man bought a used 2018 Model X P100D with the $ 20,000 Ludicrous Mode from a Tesla dealership, only to have Tesla remove Ludicrous Mode after the sale, following another audit. A Tesla rep told the man that he didn't pay for the option. Effectively, according to these stories, Tesla appears to be treating certain optional software as a non-transferrable. This wouldn't be unheard of - even automakers have spoken of a future where they'll upgrade or de-content vehicles after the sale to suit dealer or buyer preferences. The problem with what Tesla is supposedly doing is that the company hasn't made its software stance clear, and even Tesla reps at call centers and service centers don't know what's going on. Tesla hasn't responded to Jalopnik's questions, so we don't know the company's position. But the original article and the follow-up are worth a read, especially because what's happening could be "one of the less-considered side effects of car features moving from hardware to software."
  14. Tell us about your job ... Mike Dougherty (St Paul, Minnesota): "I have been a food and beverage vendor since 1989 when I started at the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Coincidentally the first day I vended was the same day as my first day of classes at law school. What started out as a job to do as a fun distraction, and a little extra money, from the rigors of law school ended up being a lifelong career in and of itself. " Randi Trent (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania): "I'm a server at the Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia 76ers. I've worked at the stadium for the past 19 years. I love my job. I feed the press box, the cameramen, and work the VIP lounge. " Duane Thwaites (Miami, Florida): "I’m a father of four. Three boys, one girl. My girl is 11 soon to be 12. My youngest son is 19, he’s away in college. My other children are older and they living in Atlanta. I am ... I guess the reality is I am homeless. I sleep on the floor in a warehouse, downtown Miami, in the Little Haiti area. I've worked at Marlins Park at a concession stand for eight years, this will be the beginning of the ninth season. " How much of your livelihood depends on this job? Mike Dougherty: "There have been years where vending has earned me more than lawyering. Now about a third of my annual income is from vending. Vending has its up and down years depending on attendance and fan enthusiasm for the teams. This year, we were especially looking forward to the baseball season as the Minnesota Twins won their division last year and prospects were high for another good year. From what I have heard through the grapevine, advanced ticket sales are way up. "
  15. In efforts to have a sense of normalcy, residents are spending more time outside, exercising, walking, and meditating while taking extra precautions. We caught up with one local family that was walking their dog at Bonita Lakes. They said it felt great to get out of the house while practicing recommended CDC guidelines. "We're coming out from a trail run with her dog. It's something different to get out of the house. One of the things we're trying to do is maintain social distancing. I think that is very achievable even out on the trail and park, "said resident Hayden Gant. According to science daily, "Living close to nature and spending time outside has significant and wide-ranging health benefits."
  16. Boris Johnson has outlined strict new measures to tackle the spread of coronavirus, including a ban on public gatherings of more than two people. He said people should leave home only to exercise once a day, travel to and from work where "absolutely necessary", shop for essential items and to fulfil any medical or care needs. He also ordered the immediate closure of shops selling non-essential goods. But police said they had received lots of calls asking what was still allowed. As of Monday, some 335 people have died with the virus in the UK. 'National emergency' Speaking from Downing Street on Monday, the prime minister said the country faced a "moment of national emergency" and staying at home was necessary to protect the NHS, save lives and tackle "the biggest threat this country has faced for decades". Police and local authorities will have powers to disperse gatherings, including through fines. The restrictions would be under constant review and a relaxation of the rules would be considered in three weeks, he said. "To put it simply, if too many people become seriously unwell at one time, the NHS will be unable to handle it - meaning more people are likely to die, not just from coronavirus but from other illness as well," he said. The prime minister's spokesman said many ministers would dial into Tuesday's cabinet meeting remotely, to comply with social distancing measures.
