Jorge Quintana, mayor of Jesús María, informed that in the first months of the year 2020 the bars surrounding the Campo de Marte will have been removed, within the framework of a project that also includes the planting of more trees and the removal of sidewalks that They are in poor condition.
"We have decided to withdraw them because this is a very important public space. The bars were put more than 20 years ago, when crime had increased. Now, it has decreased and this is part of a large public investment project, whose technical file we have just finished, "he said on Canal N.
In addition, detailed that there will be more green areas in the Field of Mars and all the sidewalks will be repaved. The investment amount will be approximately 10 million soles.
"We are going to plant a thousand more trees, yesterday we started with the planting of 100. We will repave all the paths and the monumental part will be beautified in coordination with the Ministry of Culture. We want to convert the Campo de Marte into a large public space for the enjoyment of families, "he said.
Also, he said that the fairs of the Field of Mars, which have remained in place for more than 15 years, will be removed on August 31 and on that space will build a boulevard. "There will be points with coffee and cultural activities."
He added that this project also incorporates the construction of a video surveillance center in the Campo de Marte, as well as the increase of serenades and the placement of more security cameras.
Finally, he indicated that in three or four months the bidding process will have finished and the works would be starting in November or December of this year.
