  1. Psyonix, the developer of Rocket League, announced Thursday that the Rocket League Championship Series world championship has been canceled because of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Psyonix announced the cancellation of the April 24-26 event in Dallas, Texas, on the Rocket League esports website. "The remainder of Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Season 9 League Play will be played as scheduled to the Regional Championships and Promotion Tournament," the developer said in a statement. "We're evaluating all options to replace World Championship play. Once we have more information to share, we'll update everyone." The post also notes that all broadcasts will be done remotely, including casting talent, who will perform their duties from their respective homes. People who purchased tickets for the event will be refunded in full, Psyonix said. he coronavirus has infected nearly 98,000 people worldwide and killed over 3,300, the vast majority of them in China, according to The Associated Press. On Thursday, Italy announced that all sporting events be played without an audience present until April 3. Previously, China had put a halt to all sports- and esports-related live events until April 30. The League of Legends Pro League in China and League Champions Korea in South Korea have suspended League of Legends play due to the spread of the virus, with the LPL starting up again March 9 in an online format. Other events, including three Capcom Pro Tour stops, Overwatch League homestands in China and South Korea, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament IEM Katowice were either postponed or carried on without an in-person audience. Gaming events such as the Game Developers Conference have also been affected. Dozens of events across multiple traditional sports worldwide have also been canceled or postponed, and the spread of coronavirus has also put the Tokyo Olympics in jeopardy.

  10. The Palestinian Health Ministry on Thursday announced a state of emergency in the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and Jericho over suspected coronavirus cases. The ministry said a hotel in Bethlehem was quarantined due to a number of suspected cases. All hotel reservations were cancelled and tourists temporarily restricted in the cities. All mosques, churches and educational institutions will remain closed for a fortnight, the period the virus takes to show symptoms. The ministry called on citizens to remain calm. The new coronavirus known as COVID-19 emerged in Wuhan, China, last December and has now spread to over 80 countries. The global death toll is over 3,200, with more than 95,000 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO, which had declared the outbreak an international health emergency, recently updated the global risk level to “very high”.
  11. One of the Israelis, from the Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Gan, returned from Italy on February 25. The other, a resident of the southern coastal city of Ashdod, landed in Israel on a flight from Italy the following day. The ministry said it would soon publish the details of an epidemiological probe on which flights the two traveled on and where in Israel they visited after their return. The announcement from the Health Ministry came as Israelis were casting their votes in elections for the Knesset. There was concerns going into the elections that fears over the virus could put a damper on voter enthusiasm, but voting rates published by the Central Elections Committee showed the highest turnout in years. Special polling stations were set up across the country for the 5,630 voters under home quarantine. By the time those polling stations closed at 6:45 p.m., 4,073 of those people had cast their ballots. Hours before voting started, the Health Ministry announced three more cases of the virus. The ministry said two of those diagnosed were members of one family who had returned to Israel from Italy on Thursday and live in a community in southern Israel. The other was a soldier who works at the Red Pirate toy store in Or Yehuda, where another worker was diagnosed with the virus last week after returning from Italy. srael has taken far-reaching steps to prevent an outbreak, banning entry to foreigners who were in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Italy in the 14 days prior to arriving, and compelling all Israelis recently in those areas to self-quarantine for 14 days. In a dramatic statement last week, the Health Ministry urged Israelis to seriously consider refraining from traveling abroad. Israel is the first country to urge its citizens to refrain from international travel entirely because of the outbreak, which started in China in December and has since infected over 88,000 worldwide and claimed over 3,000 lives, almost all of them in China. The Health Ministry has faced criticism for its extreme measures, with some saying it is unnecessarily panicking people and causing economic and diplomatic damage to the country. Ministry officials have said they prefer to take a strict line than be sorry later.
  12. AMD launched its first Polaris GPU, the Polaris 10 based Radeon RX 480, all the way back in 2016 and it looks like they still aren't finished with Polaris based GPUs. A recent report from Expreview (via Videocardz) reveals that AMD's board partners are introducing a new graphics card based on the Polaris GPU architecture known as the Radeon RX 590 GME. As per the report, Chinese retail outlets such as JD.com has listed several new Radeon RX 590 GME graphics cards. The graphics cards aren't a specific model by a specific AIB but rather, multiple AIBs have released their own custom Radeon RX 590 GME graphics cards. Currently, there are four AIBs who have gone public with their models which include Sapphire, PowerColor, XFX, and ASRock. In terms of specifications, the Radeon RX 590 GME is almost identical to the Radeon RX 590 in core configuration. The specific GPU remains unknown, but the Radeon RX 590 utilizes the 12nm FinFET based Polaris 30 chip which was a refined variant of the Radeon RX 580 which utilized an optimized 14nm FinFET based Polaris 20 chip. The Radeon RX 580's Polaris 20 GPU itself was a refined variant of the original Polaris 10 GPU which was introduced all the way back in 2016 and was the first GPU to be fabricated on the 14nm FinFET process. The AMD Radeon RX 590 GME retains the 2304 stream processors and the 8 GB GDDR5 memory and it may end up using the same Polaris 30 GPU. However, each variant of the Radeon RX 590 GME from AIBs has a lower clock speed than its non-GME brethren. As an example, the XFX Radeon RX 590 fat boy which is the fastest of the four AIB models has a clock speed of up to 1600 MHz while the GME variant has a clock speed of only 1460 MHz. The same is true for the rest of the models. In terms of pricing, the XFX Radeon RX 590 GME, while being the fastest clocked model is also the cheapest with a listed price of 1199 Chines Yen or $170 US. The ASRock Radeon RX 590 GME PG is the most expensive model with a retail pricing of 1399 Chinese Yen or $200 US. The Sapphire RX 590 Nitro+ is listed for 1299 Chinese Yen or $185 US while the PowerColor Radeon RX 590 GME Red Dragon is listed for 1349 Chinese Yen or $195 US. All models feature a dual-fan design and are powered by either a single 8-pin or a dual 6-pin power input configuration. The AMD Radeon RX 590 GME is expected to hit store shelves on the 9th of March, at least that's what the retail outlet says. Since this launch is exclusive to the Chinese market, we might never know the purpose of this launch until or unless one gets his hands on the card to test it out themselves. With that said, AMD's Polaris GPUs still hold strong sales numbers in the various markets despite them being replaced by the newer Navi parts. They still offer more performance per dollar which is one reason why AMD decided to refresh the RX 590 in the Asian markets.

  16. Ready to finally try out a pair of the best true wireless earbuds? There's never been a better time to cut the cord, and we're here to help you choose the perfect true wireless buds for your needs (and your budget). If you haven't noticed, headphone cables are going out of fashion. That's because wireless audio sounds better than ever, compression formats for Bluetooth 5.0 are more reliable, and flagship smartphones are shipping without headphone jacks. The best true wireless earbuds of 2020 even come with high-spec tech like active noise cancellation and built-in artificial intelligence. On the other end of the scale, we're seeing an increasing number of super-basic cheap true wireless earbuds entering the market; while you won't find the JLab Go Airs on this list – the audio quality isn't up to scratch – their $29 / £29 / AU$40 price tag is compelling enough in its own right. True wireless means there aren't any cables between the two earbuds at all, so there's no wire or neck band to contend with. Nothing to get tangled in your pocket or caught on your zipper, nothing to whack around your neck in the middle of that run, and also nothing to keep your singular earbuds together. The original Apple AirPods were the first model to truly bring true wireless to the mainstream, but there are far better options out there in terms of audio quality, battery life, design, and crucially, price – and that includes the new AirPods Pro, which have made it onto this list. So, before you buy a pair of old-school 'Pods, check out our list of the best AirPod-alternatives you can buy in 2020. 1. Sony WF-1000XM3 True Wireless Earbuds Acoustic design: Closed | Weight: 70g | Frequency response: 20-20,000Hz | Drivers: 6mm | Driver type: Dome Type | Battery life (on-board): 6 hours | Wireless range: 30ft | NFC: Yes Efficient noise-cancellation Inconspicuous looks Great fun to listen too Not suitable for sports Considering it's still rare to get noise-cancellation in wired earbuds at all, the fact that Sony has managed to pack it into a pair that are not only wireless, but true wireless is very impressive indeed. While models like the AirPods Pro have tried to replicate this, Sony is still top of the true wireless table. That's because the Sony WF-1000XM3 manage to offer a level of noise-cancellation that's exceedingly good for a pair of earbuds – they won't offer the same isolation as a pair of over-ear headphones, but its a worthy trade off for that sleeker form. Sony has really knocked the ball out of the park with the WF-1000XM3. Not only are these hands down the best-looking true wireless earbuds on the market, but they also combine serious noise-cancelling tech with fist-pumping musicality. If you don’t want the inconvenience of carrying full-size cans around, they’re a persuasive alternative. Battery life is above average, and that compact charging case is pretty slick too. Constantly improving, a recent update has brought volume control to the buds themselves, as well as support for Amazon Alexa. We reckon the true wireless jungle has found a new king. 2. Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 Acoustic design: Closed | Weight: 9.2g | Frequency response: 20-20,000Hz | Drivers: 5.8mm | Driver type: Dome Type Outstanding audio quality Good value for money Comfortable design Control buttons can be annoying to use Cambridge Audio is known for its high-end audio equipment, but until now, hasn’t ventured into the world of true wireless earbuds. Enter the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1s: with an outstanding 45 hours of battery life, they combine the brand’s award-winning engineering with the convenience of truly wireless listening. For a pair of true wireless earbuds, the sound quality offered by the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1s is sensational. In fact, it rivals that of some of the best over-ear headphones. They may not have the noise cancellation technology offered by the Sony WF-1000XM3 Wireless Earbuds, but they are $100 / £100 cheaper – and they have a superior battery life. They certainly outperform the Apple AirPods (2019), in all respects apart from the lack of wireless charging case. This is a small price to pay for that exceptional audio quality, though, and we think they represent much better value for money, too. 3. Lypertek Tevi Acoustic design: Closed | Weight: N/A | Frequency response: 20-20,000Hz | Drivers: 6mm Incredible value Neutral audiophile-like sound Great battery life Design is a bit plain You may not have heard of up-and-coming audio brand Lypertek yet, but expect to hear a lot from it soon – its Lypertek Tevi true wireless earbuds are among the best we’ve tried, especially given their low price tag ($130 / £99 / AU$185). With USB-C charging, a well-balanced sound, lengthy battery life, and waterproofing, they tick every box you could ask for, from what are basically a pair of budget buds. The Lypertek Tevi, surprisingly, might just blow you away, punching well above their weight and rivaling buds from some of the biggest audio brands on the planet.
