Website Let's Play Video Games has provided an early review about PlayStation 4 Slim, the upcoming new PS4 model which hasn't been announced yet and will probably be revealed at PlayStation Meeting, the Sony event slated for September 7. According to the review, it seems the new PlayStation 4 version is something you will actually enjoy if you need a revision of the current PS4 model, but not something in the range of Xbox One S which has recently introduced a few features upon the base Xbox One.
"Overall, I really have no complaints about the PS4 Slim, besides the removal of the optical port which I have not ever personally used. It's smaller, thinner, quieter, cooler, features a nicer controller with additional features, and I personally love the new matte curved design. It's not an Xbox One S-style upgrade with additional 4K functionality for those using ultra-HD screens, but I won't be upset seeing this replace the current model," you can read throughout the review.
It is pretty clear Microsoft has introduced a couple features like HDR, Ultra HD Blu-ray and 4K upscaling, which are currently missing from PlayStation 4 Slim – unless something like a day one update ultimately happens upon the day of release (and of course gets announced on September 7).
We'll need to wait and see whether, on September 7 in New York, we'll get some surprises from Sony but, as of now, it looks just like any other Slim models we've met so far.
