  3. Proof that the downsizing trend has well and truly arrived: even the good burghers of Zuffenhausen are ditching the company’s famous flat six for titchy turbocharged four-pots. So far, this has only affected the newly fettled junior sports car range, renamed Porsche 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster. Big brother 911 continues with the horizontally opposed six-cylinder, although in the longer run we wouldn’t bet against a 4cyl version of that range too. Here we test what has historically been our favourite sub-£50k sports car, the Cayman. Has downsizing ruined the 981.2 generation facelift? We’re about to find out in our UK review. What’s new on the 2016 Porsche 718 Cayman S? Stylistically, more of a nip-and-tuck. The lights are a fresh design, the mid-mounted engine air intakes are reprofiled to feed air to the hungry turbos and there’s a distinctive full-width Porsche badge between the taillamps. It's comprehensively new, yet feels exactly the same. The interior is tidied up too, with the latest Porsche Communication Management promising a serious upgrade to sat-nav and infotainment, while a 918-derived steering wheel adds a mode toggle to flick between Normal, Sport, Sport+ and Individual settings on the fly. It’s easier than flicking the myriad switches that still festoon the centre console, to the detriment of point-and-press ergonomics (you can’t see the heating controls when in the 1, 3 or 5 gears). But the main change is behind the driver’s shoulder: out go the charismatic 2.9- and 3.4-litre flat sixes, replaced by a 2.0- or 2.5-litre horizontally opposed four-cylinder boxer engines. In our 718 Cayman S spec, that means a single variable-vane turbocharger for 345bhp at 6500rpm and – a big change this – a 310lb ft torquefest, all the way from 1900-4500rpm. Remember those figures; they define how this car drives... And that means what? A character bypass? Or running costs heaven? There’s no escaping the purpose of this makeover. Porsche claims the smaller engine boosts economy, quoting a 34.9mpg thirst for fuel on the combined cycle. CO2 emissions shrink correspondingly to 184g/km. We averaged an easy 33mpg on a long motorway cruise, but when the dual carriageway turns to a twisting blacktop, be warned: the turbo rams fuel and air into the 2497cc combustion chambers at quite a lick. On a harder charge, we slurped super unleaded in the low- to mid-20mpg zone during a blast criss-crossing rural Scotland, and a real thrash will push that down into the teens. You have been warned. That lower emissions rating should cut costs for many drivers, however; company car tax stands at £269 a month for a lower-rate taxpayer and £537 for a higher-rate individual. Annual VED road tax comes to £230 after the first year. Performance rated There’s no getting away from this: the four-cylinder 2.5 is not as pleasing to the ear as the sonorous six that preceded it. At start-up there’s a clattery, Subaru-ish flat-four rumble and the noise is one that’ll take some getting used to. It’s not horrible, it’s just different for Porschephiles. Higher up the rev range, it adopts a harder edge; there are shades of metallic rasp, hints of the horizontally opposed layout within the shriek it emits. But it’s remarkably subdued and it’s somehow less engaging, often washing away with the passing slipstream where the six made the hairs stand to attention on the back of your neck. But golly does it fly. The new Porsche 718 Cayman S has considerably more muscle to call upon and performance feels brisk across the range. You’ll still need to spool the revs up past 3000rpm to get the coupe to really fly. Wring it to the 7400rpm redline and power continues to build in a pleasing manner alien to many blown engines. How it feels A change in character was inevitable when Porsche lopped off two cylinders. But the good news is the inherent rightness of the Cayman package remains intact. Porsche has nailed the touch points in its cars and the 718 feels just so, with all the controls exactly where you’d want them. The driving position is brilliant, for starters. You climb in and sink down into well positioned seats. Visibility is first-class front and rear - this is a ludicrously easy car to drive, day-in, day-out. It’s one of our favourite daily driver sports cars for this reason. Ours had the optional £2226 Sports Bucket Seats which fit slender frames snugly, but require some clambering into; we wouldn’t recommend them for chunkier builds. That grippy new steering wheel adjusts perfectly for reach and rake, while the pedals all have that beautifully engineered Porsche heft to them. It’s a consistent brand feel it somehow manages to replicate across its range, from coupes and convertibles to crossovers. Impressive. Porsche 718 Cayman ride, handling Prepare for superlatives. The 981.2 generation of Cayman has a sublime chassis. It’s been honed from the inherent sweetness of the first 987-era coupe and has matured into a nigh-on perfect handling package, in our view. Our car was equipped with PASM adjustable dampers and 20mm lower Sports suspension (£1133) and rode on 20in Carrera Sport alloys (£1566). A stiff ride on big rims? Forget it. The 718 rides with a rare delicacy, though we rarely shifted into Sport on Britain’s crumbling black-top. The car corners flat and true, and it’s willingly agile - the electrically assisted power steering is well judged, tipping the car keenly into corners, that mid-engined balance truer and easier to trust than the pendulum effect you can feel in extremis in a 911. This Cayman S sported Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (surely a ludicrous option at £4977 – one for track-day geeks only) which provide unyielding stopping power, but we’d stick with regular steel rotors, were we ordering our own Cayman. In short, there are few other cars at under £50,000 that we’d rather steer across our favourite moorside road. The 718 is that good, especially in Sport mode with the rev-matching downchanges making a hero of every blip-shift. Interior, practicality Okay, so you might want to save up for a 911 if you need occasional rear seats; the Cayman is restricted to two-pews only. But it’s highly practical for a car of this ilk, with that deep boot up front (150 litres) and a further 125 litres under the rear tailgate. Earlier iterations’ ‘trunk thunk’ has been banished, with no clatter from a loose-fitting bootlid. A pair of classic Porsche cupholders sprout from the dashboard and there are the brand’s usual pop-out cubbies and pockets to house odds and sods. It’s all beautifully built and the latest Cayman’s leather dashboard really lifts the ambience, transforming the cabin from functional to junior supercar league special. The new infotainment screen is miles better than what went before, too; it’s neat, easy to use and very responsive, combining some of parent firm VW’s hover-to-touch technology. It synced seamlessly with most modern smartphones we could throw at it, although it baulked at combining with a new Blackberry. Other gripes? Our car’s manual shifter (neat, accurate throw, six speeds – none of the 911’s seven-speed confusion) obscures some of the heating controls and Porsche is still quite stingy with the standard equipment. No DAB radio in a car costing five times a boggo supermini which has it as standard? Come on… Verdict In case you hadn’t noticed, we love the new 718 Cayman here at CAR magazine. It’s a bit like Usain Bolt. Still brilliant and best in class - we just rue the passing of that super six-cylinder from yesteryear. We remember how much more sizzling Bolt was back at Beijing and London; but he was still at the top of the podium in Rio too. Look out for the forthcoming flat sixes in the next instalment of the GT range. That’ll be quite a car… But so is the regular Cayman S. It’s still a five-star hero, despite the more sanitised engine.
  4. Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos says peace with the Farc rebel group will boost economic growth and enable the country to rebuild its social fabric. "War is always more costly than peace," he said in an interview with the BBC. Mr Santos and Farc leader Timoleon Jimenez, known as Timochenko, will sign a historic peace deal later on Monday. But it will take a long time for Colombian society to recover from more than five decades of conflict, he said. The Farc will be relaunched as a political party as part of the deal, which is due to be put to Colombian voters in a po[CENSORED]r vote on 2 October. "We could have grown between 2% and 3% more per year for the past 23 years," Mr Santos told the BBC's Lyse Doucet, adding that the conflict had also had a profound impact on Colombian society. "We have even lost our compassion, which is the ability to feel some kind of pain for others. "A country at war for 50 years is a country that has destroyed many of its values," said President Santos.
  5. Europe’s second-biggest port has cut a distinct new shape into its skyline. Architect Zaha Hadid's Antwerp Port House, officially opened this week, integrates modern design with the city's history as a pioneer global trading hub and diamond center. Made of 2,000 triangular glass panels, it cost 55 million euros ($62 million). During construction, some Antwerpers saw a ship or a diamond emerging from the brick-built old dockside fire station upon which the Iraqi-born Briton, who died in March, built the new structure, said Antwerp Port Authority CEO Eddy Bruyninckx. “Leave it to the imagination of people,” said Bruyninckx, whose staff will work in the new building overlooking the Scheldt estuary. “Be it a diamond, be it a ship, we are happy to live in it.” The port authority chose a spot between the port and city center for its new headquarters, where 500 employees will work. Ranked second in Europe behind the neighboring Dutch Rhine Delta city of Rotterdam, the Belgian port is growing fast. Just months before completion, Hadid died suddenly at 65. The Port House adds to her legacy of eye-catching buildings around the world, including the Guangzhou Opera House in China and the London Aquatics Centre built for the 2012 Olympics. Project manager Joris Pauwels said Hadid was adamant about preserving the fire station. The original square building did not have a main facade, so the architects decided to layer the addition on top of the structure to avoid obscuring the front. oncrete pillars and 900 tonnes of steel hold the glass workspace above the fire station, Pauwels said. A bridge level joins the two structures and gives employees a 360-degree view of the port and public square below.
  6. The US internet firm said the hack, which affected eight million user accounts in the UK, was carried out by a "state sponsored actor". Ronald Schwartz, from New York, has accused Yahoo of gross negligence and filed a lawsuit on behalf of all users in the US whose personal information was compromised. Mr Schwartz's lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, claims that Yahoo demonstrated "reckless disregard for the security of its users' personal information that it promised to protect". It adds that Yahoo could have prevented the breach if it had improved its security measures. A Yahoo spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuit. The firm has said that user information including names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates and encrypted passwords were compromised after the hack in late 2014. It insisted unprotected passwords, payment card data and bank account information was safe. Users who might be affected are to be contacted by Yahoo, asked to change their passwords, and to use other ways of verifying their account. The Information Commissioner's Office described the scale of the breach as "staggering". Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham added: "We don't yet know all the details of how this hack happened, but there is a sobering and important message here for companies that acquire and handle personal data. "People's personal information must be securely protected under lock and key - and that key must be impossible for hackers to find." There was speculation that the fallout from the hack may have implications for Verizon's $4.8bn (£3.7bn) purchase of Yahoo. In a statement, Verizon said: "We will evaluate as the investigation continues through the lens of overall Verizon interests, including consumers, customers, shareholders and related communities." Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat senator from Connecticut, has called on regulators to investigate "whether Yahoo may have concealed its knowledge of this breach in order to artificially bolster its valuation".
  7. On a catwalk featuring Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid and Irina Shayk, Italian design house Versace presented a bold, multi-faceted collection for women on Friday. As she had done for the men's collection, artistic director Donatella Versace opened the spring and summer show, with airy windbreaker jackets in green, purple and blue. They were matched with leggings and rucksacks and parachute-like dresses in high-tech fabrics, giving a sports flair to a part of the collection, mostly in black purple and green. Other parts of the show included thinly pleated creations with knitted details or fluid silk dresses and skirts with optical patterns which included the brand's fret motif. In a rare cameo, Naomi Campbell walked in a athleisure look with a layered blue and red wraparound skirt with matching cropped blouse with a zipper. She wore knee-high laced blue and red boots and carried a rucksack. For a complete change of style for the evening, Versace woman changed into clear-cut, black designs, with short dresses and skin tights suits, embellished by crystal details giving off metallic reflections. A red net dress with sequins stood out from the total black looks on show on the third day of Milan fashion week. The models strutted along a zig-zag shaped catwalk to the beat of electronic music. "This show is for women taking chances. Take a leap," spoke a women's voice over the pounding rhythm. The brand famous for its Medusa head logo, in May named Jonathan Akeroyd, the former head of British brand Alexander McQueen, as its new chief executive in an unexpected move ahead of a planned stock market listing.
  8. Nissan’s new electric small car set to follow the next Leaf and could share tech with the Renault ZOE Nissan is weighing up its options as to how it will expand its range of pure electric vehicles, with a Ford Fiesta-sized model lined up to join the Nissan Leaf, according to a senior company source. The manufacturer has sold more than 200,000 examples of the Leaf since the car’s launch in 2010. It’s already planning a successor to that model that’ll stay close to its five-door family hatchback layout. • Best electric cars to buy now The recent appearance of a working prototype of the Bladeglider sports car has prompted speculation that the next step in Nissan’s publicly stated goal to spread pure-electric tech throughout its line-up could be a niche model for driving enthusiasts. However, Gareth Dunsmore, the man in charge of Nissan’s EV programme in Europe, told Auto Express that a sports car is not a priority for the brand. Instead, he gave the strongest indication yet on what’s likely to get the green light, saying: “We’ve invested $5.4bn (£4.1bn) in electric cars such as the Leaf, so we need to ensure we’re satisfying as many types of customer as possible. In Europe, that could mean looking towards B-segment hatches [Ford Fiesta size] and SUVs or crossovers.” Dunsmore added: “The first people who bought EVs were the proud early adopters. The second people were the fleets. And the third people were families, who wanted affordability and practicality. The Leaf is well placed to deliver to those customers, and will continue to do so. If we look towards crossovers or the B-segment for the next car, those could make perfect sense.” Nissan has relatively straightforward options for an electric B-segment model, illustrated here in our exclusive image. The smaller vehicle could become a sister car to the Renault ZOE, potentially using its platform and battery technology. Such a move would help the ZOE’s production facility at Flins in France to work closer to its capacity. • Best superminis on sale now An EV crossover could be based on the Leaf itself. Nissan’s EV platform is said to be heavily based on the B0 architecture that underpins the likes of the Nissan Juke crossover, so it could support a vehicle with a raised ride height. Dunsmore’s comments back up views expressed recently by Nissan’s executive vice president for product, Roel de Vries. He said: “Nissan is committed to EVs making up a large part of its range, and we are looking at where we can add more electric cars. The next step would be in another volume sector, which probably isn’t sports cars.”

  10. Renault’s design boss confirms next-gen Clio will bring big changes in cabin design, plus potential for Hybrid Assist tech Renault will soon undergo an interior design “revolution”, according to the brand’s head of design Laurens van den Acker. It will begin with the all-new Clio supermini, which will arrive in 2018. Speaking to Auto Express Van Den Acker confirmed that a new Clio would arrive following the introduction of the Koleos SUV and hot Megane Renaultsport, and will most likely debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Van den Acker also revealed that the Ford Fiesta rival’s interior would take a big step forward over today’s Clio. Citing the French brand’s recent designs, including the Kadjar SUVand new Scenic MPV, van den Acker said: “Our customers look at the exterior and go “woah” but then they look at the interior and go “Huh?” “We need to make sure our next interiors live up to the standards of the exterior,” he told us. “We have more people [at Renault] working on interiors than ever before, and we are pushing a revolution”. The next Clio will move towards an exterior design emulating that of the latest Megane, but in a smaller package. The biggest step on will be inside, where van den Acker is promising big jumps in terms of look and feel, with better materials, improved cabin ambience and next-generation tech. “It used to be that just luxury cars had all of the tech for a long time, but now it will take just one or two years before the latest systems filter down to smaller models,” van den Acker added. Advances in autonomous safety systems are promised, but the new Clio will also use a much larger and more responsive portrait-style touchscreen. The system will be an evolution of the version found in the new Megane and Koleos. Haptic feedback (where touchscreen users feel a physical ‘click’) and gesture control isn’t being ruled out either for future models. 2018 Renault Clio: Hybrid Assist tech The next Renault Clio could also feature mild hybrid tech as seen on the brand’s new Scenic MPV. Speaking to Auto Express at theGeneva Motor Show, Bruno Ancelin – Renault executive vice president, product planning – said: “We want to add electrification that’s affordable. It means we give the customer just enough to deliver low CO2.” • Best hybrid cars to buy right now Asked if the more cost-effective Hybrid Assist function from the brand’s new people carrier could feature on the smaller Clio, Ancelin revealed: “Yes, we’ll consider the tech for other cars. It’s not the only initiative to reduce fuel consumption, but it won’t be a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle [PHEV].” EOLAB concept, which hints at the future. The Renault boss also told us: “There’s no need for massive deployment of PHEV tech on small cars, as the price will be too high.” But Ancelin didn’t rule out plug-in powertrains for larger saloons and crossovers, which are heavier. “Weight reduction is always cheaper compared to a PHEV, as battery price is the biggest barrier,” he said. “But we’ll probably need that [PHEV] in the upper segments, depending on future diesel regulations.”

  13. At the start of 2016, there was hardly any hype surrounding Gearbox's Battleborn, no doubt some of the fans of Gearbox were interested in the game but it flew under the radar for a lot of players (I am among one of them). Gearbox Software and 2K Games did not spend much on advertising Battleborn, and if you decide to make a list of MUST Play GAMES, Battleborn failed to make it to the list as it was low on the hyper meter. This means gaming community have little to no expectations from Battleborn, and this strategy seems to have worked out in favor of everyone: Gearbox, 2K and Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) genre fans. Let us take a look at the things we like the most in Battleborn. Art Style: The art direction and style is one of the major selling points of the game, there might be few players who will feel it is a miss but does have a realistic Wildstar feel to it. Gearbox managed to bring together a fun and beautiful looking art style that matches with the feel of the game. No doubt, currently in the market there is the ton of realistic looking games but not many developers manages to do what Gearbox achieved with Battleborn? just look at the recently released Battlefront 3, it looks gorgeous but lack a depth. Great Sense of Humor: The storyline is not that good, but it is a realistic one added with a great sense of humor. The cut-scenes that play feels like a quality cartoon is playing on the screen. The only factor that I felt is amiss here is that there is no lip movement of the characters, and this makes the story play like a graphic novel game. However, there are many interesting parts in the story and we should give credit of it to Gearbox for pulling things off smoothly. For those who are not a big supporter of humor and want to have some serious fun: DON"T EVEN THINK OF OWING Battleborn. Gameplay and Performance On PC: Things are not at all complicated when it comes to gameplay element as Battleborn managed to balance things perfectly with shooter and MOBA elements. The wide variety of characters available in the game feels very different personalities and some amazing voice acting. Once you get used to the game there is no doubt that you will be playing it for a long time. Battleborn might see some damage in terms of sales considering the fact that it is releasing just within a few weeks of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and DOOM. There are many reports on the internet stating that the game runs smoothly for Nvidia cards users but things are completely different for AMD cards user. Battleborn is not the first game with such type of report about performance on PC, so we advise players to give some time to Gearbox to fix things up with AMD. Not As Fun As Overwatch: Battleborn was expected to be great (but GOOD will be the right adjective to describe it now) and can be fun with friends but compared to Overwatch it is severely lacking. If you are a fan of Gearbox and the work the studio has done on Borderlands franchise then you will most likely enjoy Battleborn as well, but Overwatch from Blizzard will be a better option if there is any sort of doubts when it comes to picking just one game among the two. The best reason I can provide for going with Overwatch is that anyone that knows gaming knows that Blizzard is where it is at. Gearbox Missed A Trick To Go One Against Overwatch: In Battleborn, Gearbox showed some positive sign that they managed to put some quality elements in the game, however, there are some negative signs which hint that the studio was just left stunned and seems like they don't really known what exactly they are doing. Firstly, the single player portion (multiplayer story mission) requires a beefy internet connection, and this doesn't make any sense at all. Most of the game is on the developer's server side so if any untoward or major hiccups occurs in connection players will experience rubberbanding. Gearbox missed a trick here to go one up against Overwatch. The studio could have easily gone with an exclusive offline singleplayer experience but instead, they choose to cluster the entire game together on a multiplayer platform. Campaign: The campaign missions in Battleborn are 40 minutes plus each and yet they don't have any checkpoints, so if your teams fails, have fun starting from the beginning. Pros: Borderlands Style Humor Variety of playable Heroes Campaign and multiplayer Well balanced gameplay Cons: Players who drop out are not replaced with new people Minor FPS issues on certain levels. No checkpoints in Campaign After every match, you need to find a new lobby.
  14. If you have closely followed the launch of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided then one thing you should have noticed that Square Enix and Eidos Montreal kept the marketing budget very tight. There was hardly any promotional event (and other such things) arranged for the game to create the hype just a few weeks before the launch. Square Enix and Eidos Montreal quietly allowed the game to arrive on retail shelves (and digital platform). Surely a BOLD move which seems to have paid off exceptionally well. There is a special league of a developer who let their work do all the talking on their behalf, with Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Eidos Montreal has proved that they surely belong to this league. For gamers and Deus Ex franchise fans who are still unable to figure out whether or not to invest their money in the game, here is our Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Review carrying all the details you need to make your decision. Play As You Wish, Achieve As You Wish, The Battlefield Is Yours: As soon you start Deus Ex: Mankind Divided it gives you feel of being a continuation of the last game in the series i.e. Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and this is not a bad thing. I have put in close to 22 hours in the game and have really enjoyed the storyline and other things it offers. To being with, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided comes with three difficulty level: Give Me A Story, Give Me A Challenge and Give Me Deus Ex. The game carries a fourth difficulty option, Hardcore mode, it unlocks after the player completes the game once. The best part about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is that it allow players to achieve their objectives/goals in a variety of ways. If you are a fan of going all gun blazing, you can do it no restriction. If you love to take down you enemy in a silent killer style, you can do it without any restriction. If you want to finish things off by sneaking around the environment and using objects and sounds to distract you enemies, you can do it without any restriction. For me, being able to select personal approach depending on my play style is a HUGE BONUS. One of the best Cover System: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided cover system is beautifully crafted, one of the best I have seen so far. The navigation from one place to other is pretty easy, you can quickly move around from strategic positioning. If you are finding it difficult then there is a Tutorial Mode option present it the game. It gives you the option to get the feel for the controls and lead character's abilities. The best part is that if the player decides to go into the tutorial mode then it won't affect the game and can be replayed as many time as required. After being done with it, players are put right back into the game from where they left off. Graphics/Performance On Xbox One In terms of graphics, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided surely looks a next-gen game. It runs at 900p/30FPS on Xbox One. The game suffers from an FPS drop and tearing issue during sequences with a lot of NPCs. Thankfully, during gameplay the game hits the 30FPS target perfectly, without any issue. Storyline I am not going to spoil anything here but would surely give my thought that the storyline of Deus Ex Mankind Divided is very intriguing and will keep you on the edge of your seat. On top of this, the side quests are also done pretty well. Returning Features The two returning features in Deus Ex Mankind Divided is Battery System and Hacking. Talking about the battery system, the working of it depends on the situation you are in, for example, it will force players to think about how to approach a mission and use it in a frugal manner i.e. use only little of it as you are running out of stock. There will be many scenarios where you will be the usage of Battery system is causing more damage than doing good. Taking downs enemies via non-lethal mean need you to have a battery power? Cmon gives me a break, how this takedown is any different than the sprinting or super jumping? Coming to hacking, there is hardly any difference I have come across about the working of hacking in Mankind Divided and Human Revolution. The world of Mankind Divided is filled with a ton of keypads to hack, computers to find codes and many others. Going after all these collectibles will clear the situation you are in and will also give you a deeper look at the world around you. Microtransaction In Singleplayer Game? YES A statement from Square Enix on Mankind Divided DLC content reads: Pre-order and DLC items for the game can only be used ONE TIME and are Saved Locked. For those who can't interpret this: It means when a player decides to take the item out of Storage, he/she can't redeem it again. In simple term, it means the player can claim the pre-order guns just once. A SH*T move from Square Enix. So it would be wise on player's part to no opt for microtransaction items in Mankind Divided, it can only be used once. Conclusion Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has everything that action-RPG fans expect. It is possibly the best game in the Deus Ex video game franchise. The graphics truly looks next-gen. The freedom you receive to complete the missions and side-quests is really the "Hit the bull's-eye" move from Eidos Montreal as it encourages different play styles. Go for it guys, you will surely not get disappointed with what Mankind Divided storyline offers you.

This are the exact times you can expect the livestream to kick off: 3pm ET, 2pm CT, 12pm PT, 21pm CET Expected announcements coming from the event are PlayStation 4 Slim, which has already been leaked and even reached some retailers in the United Kingdom, and PlayStation Neo, the most powerful PlayStation console ever, capable of running native 4K resolution.
  18. PlayStation VR will release on October 13 and just like any other old gen platforms will be featuring demo discs. This is something we're not used anymore – PS4 didn't include any demo discs, for example – but it is likely to provide games with a better idea about VR. Here's the list of games demoed for PlayStation VR launch edition: While being something we're not used anymore, as said, since this is a nostalgic ‘90s habit, this demo disc is particularly useful now. Many gamers have not had a chance to give all the virtual reality titles a try, so the more they can play before actually buying others, the more chances they'll have to totally embrace the technology. We'll possibly have more details on PlayStation VR at tomorrow's PlayStation Meeting, where there could be some news about how the headset will work on different PlayStation models and how it could take advantage of PlayStation Neo in 2017.
  19. While many expect PlayStation Neo to release next year, in the same launch window than Project Scorpio (late 2017), there's still someone who thinks the brand new Sony console will be ready to ship by the end of 2016. It would be just a few months from PlayStation 4 Slim day one, which is apparently planned for September. According to Niko Partners' analyst Daniel Ahmad, indeed, PlayStation Neo won't be releasing in 2017, as Sony is working to have it on the market by November. He said that earlier rumors only tipped about September or October release dates, something that wouldn't work in his opinion. Could this be it, then? Is PlayStation Neo really launching this year, already in November? While this looks pretty crazy, considering Microsoft is shipping its supposed competitor in 2017, it might be a good reason for Neo to only have a 4.2 teraflops raw power in comparison with Project Scorpio's 6 teraflops. It would ultimately be a bit suggestive, and that's actually one of the reasons why we'll follow tomorrow's PlayStation Meeting with such interest, but we wouldn't bet on this, to be honest.
  20. Yesterday, the first image of yet to be officially announced PlayStation 4 Slim was leaked and then came the turn of the comparison image with the standard PlayStation 4. Today is no different as more leak related to PlayStation 4 Slim has appeared on the internet. YouTube user ZRZ has posted the very first PS4 Slim Unboxing video. The details provided in the video confirms that PlayStation 4 Slim will come with a revised DualShock 4 controller. The top of the touchpad of DualShock 4 controller is transparent and because of it, the light bar shines through on the touchpad. No other details have been shared yet regarding other changes but it is confirmed that the DualShock 4 controller is being updated alongside this revision.
  21. The wait for the comparison image of PS4 Slim vs PS4 Standard is finally over and all credit it goes to Twitter user Shortmaneighty2, who already has in his possession a legit PlayStation 4 Slim console. According to the report on the internet, Sony will officially reveal PlayStation 4 Slim at PlayStation Meeting on September 7, and the console will be available for buy starting on September 14 i.e. just after a week of its official announcement. We have to wait a bit more to get the details regarding the specification of PlayStation 4 Slim, but not for seeing what all improvements the console carries in terms of appearance against standard PlayStation 4. You guys can check out the PlayStation 4 Slim vs PS4 Comparison image. Shortmaneighty2 has confirmed that the hard drive bay in PS4 Slim is on the right-hand side. He further added that these comparison images do not do justice to PlayStation 4 Slim, and this new variant looks GORGEOUS. 22. In the middle of PlayStation 4 leaks, we've just received one more regarding it, a new PSP-like device and a few hints about PlayStation Neo. All this stuff is coming from Foxconn veteran workers, who have been revealing information on what's supposedly next in video games. Despite not having a lot of knowledge in the video games business, those employees were able to provide a sketch of what's been in production for three months now, and it is apparently corresponding to PlayStation 4 Slim. Moreover, there's a rumor involving another PlayStation 4 model weighing in at around 10lbs, "very heavy", which has just recently started mass production. Based on this description, it should be PlayStation Neo, which could likely release by next year. A PSP like a device is also in production, and while rumors about a possible PlayStation Vita revamp have been around for a while, it might perhaps be the handheld side of Nintendo NX, which is in the very final stages of production right now and will launch in March 2017.
  23. Earlier this month Sony announced price hike for PlayStation Plus subscription from the United States and Canada. The price of yearly subscription of PlayStation Plus was increased from $50 to $60. Today, PlayStation Plus Community Manager Frannifer via Twitter has crushed all hopes of PlayStation fans of possibly getting an improved and expanded line-up after the price hike. In a recent Twitter conversation with a fan, Frannifer has clarified that even though the price of PlayStation Plus has increased for US and Canada, there will not be any change to the Instant Game Collection policy, it will be the regular TWO GAMES per platform rule. When asked to comment on how good the September 2016 PlayStation Plus subscription looks? Frannifer replied: "unfortunately I can't comment on the monthly games" Lastly, when a fan enquired about the announcement time of September 2016 PS Plus games, Frannifer replied: "the blog will post the official announcement when it's ready."
