After years of secrecy and at least one police raid during dire times for developer Starbreeze, a new Payday game is almost here. Payday 3 is coming soon according to Starbreeze, but for now, the studio is keeping info on the game locked up tighter than a lost mouse in the Fort Knox gold deposit vault. While we're not quite ready to don a snazzy suit, clown mask, and pull off the information-based heist of the century, we can a look at everything that we know so far about the game and how it's shaping up. Table of Contents [hide] Release date Trouble (and a comeback) at Starbreeze Platforms When will more Payday 3 news be revealed? Payday 3 storyline Payday 3 gameplay Catching up on Payday Release date For now, Payday 3 is aiming to arrive in 2023, 10 years after Payday 2 first launched. Trouble (and a comeback) at Starbreeze The game has been in development for years, and has survived a turbulent period at Starbreeze as the Stockholm-based studio was on the brink of bankruptcy after Overkill's The Walking Dead emerged as a financially and critically disastrous game and accusations of insider trading resulted in a police raid, although former chief financial officer Sebastian Ahlskog was acquitted of these charges. After a period of reconstruction that gave it the chance to pay off its debt and once again become profitable--largely thanks to Payday 2--Starbreeze was in a much healthier financial state. In March 2021, Starbreeze signed a $54 million publishing deal with Koch Media to assist in financing Payday 3's development, publishing, and post-launch support plans. Platforms Payday 3 will launch for a wide number of systems, including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Starbreeze says that the game is identical on PC and consoles, thanks to it being made in the Unreal Engine. When will more Payday 3 news be revealed? A recent--and extremely short--teaser trailer has confirmed that a Payday 3 gameplay reveal is coming this summer, and that's it. No exact date, mention of a livestream platform, or even a glimpse of Geoff Keighley standing in a corner with a Summer Games Fest contract. Just a shadowy figure, telling you that it's time for a new job. Starbreeze boss Tobias Sjogren has also said in an interview that he feels the pressure to deliver with the sequel, especially given that the franchise has reached millions of peoples over the years. Payday 3 storyline As part of the franchise's 10th anniversary in 2021, game director Erik Wonnevi shared a few more details on the storyline for Payday 3. The threequel is a soft reboot of the series and takes place several years after Payday 2. Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf are back in action, and this time they'll be pulling off heists in a version of New York City, while also dealing with cryptocurrency, mass surveillance, and dark web themes. Payday 3 gameplay Gameplay for Payday 3 hasn't surfaced yet, but if its anything like the previous games, expect this sequel to evolve the heist format made po[CENSORED]r by its predecessors. A first-person team-based shooter in which you pull off heists, Payday 3 will likely continue the themes of perfect execution of a plan and adapting your tactics when things inevitably go wrong. Catching up on Payday If you're new to the series and want to get better acquainted with it, you can watch a four-part docu-series that was released to celebrate Payday's 10th anniversary. In January, Ubisoft delayed(opens in new tab) (again) its long-troubled high-seas piracy game Skull and Bones(opens in new tab) to early in its 2023-24 fiscal year, which runs from April 1 2023 to March 31 2024. But not really early, as it turns out. In today's full-year earnings report for 2022-23, Ubisoft indicated that Skull and Bones remains on track for release this year but will not be out during the first quarter—which means no Skull and Bones before at least July 1. "We are very happy with the progress the team is making on the game," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said during an investors call. "We are doing lots of playtests and research with external partners, and the game is progressing well." Of course, if you've been following along with this particular odyssey, you may recall that "very happy" is a term that Ubisoft executives have used to describe their feelings about Skull and Bones previously. In January(opens in new tab), for instance, chief financial officer Frederick Duguet said Ubisoft was "very happy" with Skull and Bones playtests that had occurred earlier that month, the same thing he'd said about the state of development in February 2022(opens in new tab). Sponsored Links If You Need To Relax On Your Computer, You Have To Play This Game. No Install Elvenar It's clearly kind of an ongoing theme (via VGC(opens in new tab), here's Guillemot saying he was "very happy" with the state of Skull and Bones in July 2020), although it has yet to translate into a videogame that's fit for public consumption. RECOMMENDED VIDEOS FOR YOU... CLOSE The post-June launch window isn't a delay in the technical sense, because a new release date still hasn't been set. But to my mind, "early" in the year means—very broadly—in or around the first quarter, and once you've moved past that you're into the mid-year. Call that splitting hairs if you like, but it's been a full six years since Skull and Bones was announced an Assassin's Creed: Black Flag spinoff project, and I feel like a little commitment to accuracy about what's actually happening isn't too much of an ask at this point. We will be seeing more of Skull and Bones very soon, however. Ubisoft confirmed that the game will appear at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward(opens in new tab) online showcase, which is set for June 12. https://www.pcgamer.com/surprise-skull-and-bones-wont-actually-be-out-early-this-year-after-all/

President Arif Alvi in an interview with Hamid Mir on Geo News’ programme “Capital Talk” on May 18, 2023. Screengrab of a Youtube video. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should openly condemn the May 9 events, President Arif Alvi said Thursday. In an interview with Hamid Mir on Geo News’ programme “Capital Talk”, the president — a close aide of the PTI chief — called for taking action against the miscreants involved in the events. The PTI leadership, including the party chairman, has condemned the attacks in which the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, was also targeted and called for a Supreme Court-led probe into the events. The violent protests were triggered after Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case, which led to the deaths of at least 10 people and injured several others, prompting the authorities to arrest thousands of PTI workers. After the supporters attacked army installations, the army said that May 9, 2023 — the day when chaos gripped the nation following Khan’s arrest — would go down in history as a “dark chapter”. The military and the government alike have vowed to try the vandals who attacked army installations under the Pakistan Army Act, the Official Secrets Act, and other laws. Human rights organisations and some in the government have opposed trying civilians under the Army Act but agreed that the vandals should be tried and “due process” be followed. In the interview, the president also added that during the trials, the suspects’ human rights should be respected and they shouldn’t be tortured. “The people involved should be punished in line with the law,” he said. The president said that the PTI chairman did not oppose Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir. “Imran Khan asked me to tell General Bajwa that he should accept anyone whom the institution approves as the next chief,” President Alvi said. Khan has criticised the military’s incumbent leadership and blamed a senior armed forces official for his alleged involvement in the November 3, 2022, assassination attempt. But at the same time, the PTI chief has also said that he will not interfere with the institution’s affairs when he comes back to power. “I do not intervene in the institution’s matters. I’ve repeatedly said this,” he said. https://www.thenews.com.pk/print/1071624-imran-should-openly-condemn-may-9-riots-alvi

An American Airlines flight headed to Phoenix on Sunday morning returned to Ohio's John Glenn Columbus International Airport because a bird strike disabled an engine, officials said. A post-strike engine fire was captured on cellphone video that has been verified by NBC News. It shows flames from the No. 2 engine licking the airborne plane's right wing. Takeoff was scheduled for 7:43 a.m., according to tracker FlightAware, and the bird strike happened roughly at 8 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. The aircraft turned back to the airport shortly afterward and landed safety, American Airlines said in its own statement. "The flight landed normally and taxied safely to the gate under its own power," it said. "The aircraft was taken out of service for maintenance and our team is working to get customers back on their way." The Boeing 737-800 had 173 passengers and crew and was carrying 30,000 pounds of fuel, according to radio traffic with an air traffic controller. No injuries were reported. The diverted version of the flight was minutes from landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Sunday afternoon, according to FlightAware. Passenger John Fisher told NBC affiliate WCMH of Columbus that passengers were quickly made aware of the bird strike because of the sounds produced by the collision. “Apparently we struck a flock of geese and the engine started making real loud ‘clonk, clonk, clonk’ noises,” he said. “They eventually turned the engine off and turned around and went back to the airport.” Emergency crews responded after the aircraft landed, but the schedule of flights and arrivals at John Glenn Columbus International Airport was not affected, the airport said. Land Rover released pricing for the 2024 Defender lineup. The four-cylinder Defender 90 starts at $57,875, while a new Outbound trim for the Defender 130 starts at $85,975. The 130 can be had with a new 493-hp supercharged V-8 ($118,075), with the 519-hp V-8 Defender 110 exceeding $120K. Land Rover has released pricing for the 2024 Defender lineup, ranging from the relatively inexpensive four-cylinder 90 to the much pricier V8 offerings at the top. The company is also shaking things up for the Defender 130 this year by adding a new 493-hp supercharged V-8 option. There's also a new-for-2024 Outbound trim, which is exclusive to the 130. Like before, the Defender 90 comes standard with a 296-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Pricing increases slightly for the new year, as it now starts at $57,875. Bumping the cylinder count to six and horsepower to 395 adds an additional $12,000 to the price. If the four- and six-cylinder options don't offer the power you want from your Defender, or you just want the grunt of a V-8, Land Rover has you covered with two options. A new 493-hp supercharged V-8 has been added to the Defender 130 lineup. It starts at $118,075. If that's still not mighty enough, the shorter Defender 90 and 110 models both offer a 518- hp version of the supercharged V-8. This setup starts at $109,675 with the 90 and $112,975 with the 110 For $600, Defender 110 customers can add the County Exterior Pack, which adds County graphics along the doors and body, illuminated treadplates with a unique County insignia, as well as a contrasting roof and tailgate. The Outbound trim is new for the 130 lineup this year. For $85,975, it's intended to maximize storage space and is available exclusively with a five-seat configuration, forgoing the third row in the stretched Defender and offering lots of open storage behind the second row of seats. According to Land Rover, the Defender 110 with the County Exterior Pack as well as the 130 Outbound and 130 V-8 are available to order now, with the other models to follow later in 2023. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a43709334/2024-land-rover-defender-pricing/

Newcastle power past Brighton to boost Champions League hopes. Twitter/premierleague Newcastle United took a significant step towards Champions League qualification with a resounding 4-1 victory over Brighton at St James' Park. Kieran Trippier's dead-ball expertise proved instrumental as his crosses resulted in an own-goal by Deniz Undav and a headed goal from Dan Burn, giving the Magpies a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime. However, Undav managed to pull one back for Brighton early in the second half. Despite Brighton's attempts to find an equaliser, Newcastle remained resolute, and their efforts paid off when Callum Wilson sealed the victory with a late counter-attack goal. In the dying moments of the match, Wilson turned provider, setting up Bruno Guimaraes to make it 4-1. The win propelled Newcastle to third place in the Premier League table, leaving them on the cusp of Champions League qualification. With just one win required from their remaining two matches against Leicester and Chelsea, the Magpies were within touching distance of securing a coveted spot among Europe's elite. Furthermore, their path to a top-four finish could be paved if Liverpool faltered against Aston Villa. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance, particularly their strong display in the first half. Although they missed some scoring opportunities, he commended his players for their efforts. Howe, however, emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and not getting carried away with the prospect of Champions League football. The Magpies fielded the same starting lineup as their previous match against Leeds, while Brighton made four changes from their triumphant outing against Arsenal. The northeast side capitalized on their early dominance when Undav inadvertently nodded a header into his own net from Trippier's impressive inswinging corner. Just before halftime, Burn extended Newcastle's lead with a well-timed header from another Trippier set-piece. Newcastle had a chance to put the result beyond doubt early in the second half, but Jason Steele produced a superb save to deny Miguel Almiron. Undeterred, Brighton swiftly responded as Undav latched onto Billy Gilmour's through-ball and beat England goalkeeper Nick Pope. Nonetheless, Wilson's clinical finish in the 89th minute and his subsequent assist for Bruno in stoppage time sealed an emphatic victory for the home side. The triumph kept Newcastle's Champions League dreams alive, while Brighton remained in the race for Europa League qualification despite the loss. The Magpies now turn their attention to their crucial upcoming clash with Leicester, fully aware that they cannot afford to be complacent as they strive to achieve their season's objective. https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1071632-newcastle-power-past-brighton-to-boost-champions-league-hopes

This allows you to have maximum control of what happens with your account It is possible that you have some doubts if there is someone who is entering your Instagram profile. If this happens, it can range from deleting everything you have published to sending inappropriate content to the social network -and for this reason the platform owned by Meta ends up expelling you-. If you want to know if this is the case, we show you how to achieve it. Luckily, Instagram itself offers the necessary tools to know what the activity history of your account is. And, furthermore, this is possible from the mobile phone or tablet, since we are talking about an application that was created with the aim of being used on this type of device. Therefore, you will be able to know the information we are talking about from anywhere - without having to suffer the ties of computers, for example. So you can check the start activity on Instagram The first thing you have to know is that what we say can be done both in terminals with iOS and those that use Android, so regardless of the phone or tablet you have, you can be sure that access to the information in question is more than assured. Obviously, the first thing you have to do is access your account with the appropriate credentials. Once this is done, on the home page of the application, click on the face-shaped icon in the lower area. You will see a large number of options that, in this case, are not useful to you because you have to press a place where there are three lines at the top and, in the menu that appears, enter Settings. Instagram logo with orange background Pixabay Among the different sections that you now see on the screen, you must enter Security and, then, do the same in Login activity. As you see, there is no loss. You will automatically see the list of the operations that you have carried out recently so that you can review them and you can know if there is something that does not fit with what you have done. above all security In some cases you can see an image of the location map from where it was accessed, in these cases you can indicate if you were the one who accessed it or not. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s car chase ‘an avoidable stunt’ that ‘never should’ve happened’ Royal experts are of the opinion that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s car chase was an ‘avoidable’ happenstance that should have been handled better. Retired police chief superintendent, Dai Davies weighed in on the entire car chase debacle. He believes Harry and Meghan’s team handled the entire matter ‘all wrong’ and ‘beggars belief’ that “cool heads should have applied” at the time. With relevant questions being asked of his security team. With their approach “they failed to take adequate precautions and to put him in a taxi beggars’ belief.” (sic) “Something has gone horribly wrong with the strategy, planning and tactics,” he also added during the course of his chat with the Daily Mail. “I am not defending the paparazzi whatsoever but it seems to me that it was the decisions made by Harry and Meghan's security team on the night that put civilians in danger,” he added. Not to mention, the innocent taxi driver as well, “who found himself surrounded by photographers. It's just an incredulous decision.” this allegation comes shortly after pals, spokespeople, as well as the Duke of Sussex himself stepped forward to address accounts of the entire situation. https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/1071859-prince-harry-meghan-markle-s-car-chase-an-avoidable-stunt-never-should-ve-happened

It has been a long time since the nomadic men decided to settle in fixed places on the planet, changing its geography. Despite this, there is something that has not changed yet: the settlements must be understood, in part, according to the needs of each town and their social and historical contexts. And something else, in the little space that still remains unconquered in this world, you have to manage to be able to live, although the Earth itself and its inclemencies sometimes make it difficult for us. A fairly clear example of these social and historical needs, which produce curious results to say the least, is the Ciudad Lineal devised by Arturo Soria. At the end of the 19th century, the architect conceived a true linear city that could travel across Europe (or even the world) and would be a link between specific cities, going as far as Saint Petersburg or Beijing. For Soria, the shortage of housing for workers, the lack of hygiene in them and the price of land were the main problems in Madrid during the 19th century. Contrary as it was to orthogonal planning, he proposed this linear city where a main street that could have no limit depending on the needs, served as a communication axis, with parallel streets where the houses, single-family and with gardens, were linked in a American style. Consequently, his proposal tried to correct the overcrowding problem of the Spanish working class, in accordance with the hygienist principles of the time. In addition, he was inspired by the ideas of some utopian socialists like Owen or Cabet, or urbanists like Olmsted and Herbert Spencer. It has about 6,000 inhabitants and extends along two impressive farmlands which, as we pointed out at the beginning with the settlements and needs, are what have marked the structure of the town. Throughout the nine kilometers that the town lasts, there are houses, hospitals, schools and even an impressive castle (Pieskowa Skala), built in the first half of the 14th century by Casimir III the Great. So we can say that this concept of a 'linear city', without having anything to do with hygienist measures, was already thought of long before, at least in Poland. https://www.elconfidencial.com/alma-corazon-vida/2023-04-07/curiosa-historia-pueblo-polaco-vive-linea-recta_3606036/

Although playing and betting can be fun, enjoyable and very entertaining, when it becomes an addiction it is no longer fun. At that time everything fun evaporates and we face a disease that can lead to great suffering. Many people have lost everything, money, family, work, relationships, because of their dependence on the game. Gambling addiction is called gambling. It consists of a disorder in which the person is forced to play and gamble compulsively. The first step and perhaps the most difficult is to recognize that you have a problem with the game, that you have stopped controlling your actions and that you need help. How to detect has become a problem? The American Psychiatric Association indicated that there is pathological play when at least five of these circumstances occur: 1) Having great concern for the game. 2)Need to play with increasing amounts of money to achieve the desired degree of excitement. 3)Repeated failure of efforts to control, interrupt or stop the game. Why do online bets hook so much? Accessibility: You can bet from your mobile, from anywhere, at any time, 24 hours a day. Immediacy: You can bet before or even during the game. The less time passes between the bet and the prize, the more addictive is a game. Low amount: Very small bets can be made, which makes them accessible and minimizes the impression of risk. Anonymity: Internet makes it easy to play without being seen by anyone, and there is also no negative social vision about trying to guess a sporting outcome. Pd: If you or someone you know has problems with the game, you need to ask for help. Although the treatment of gambling can be difficult, many players have found help through professional treatment.

From Friday would-be migrants must register their details and upload a photograph on CBP One. The fate of tens of thousands of people seeking asylum at the United States' southern border will, from Friday, hinge on an app that has just 2.5 stars in the App Store. "It's amazing that an app practically decides our lives and our future," Jeremy de Pablos, a 21-year-old Venezuelan who has camped out in the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez for weeks, told AFP. De Pablos, who has dark skin, said the hardest part of using the CBP One app was the facial recognition—an issue that many migrants with darker complexions have pointed to. "It's like a game of chance. It recognizes who it wants to." President Joe Biden's administration launched the Custom and Border Protection app in January, as it eyed a way to manage the expected chaos when Title 42 expires overnight Thursday into Friday. The measure was imposed under Donald Trump, with a stated purpose of keeping those infected with COVID-19 out of the country, allowing border guards to refuse entry to anyone. Migrants find the CBP One mobile app glitchy and prone to lock up with a weak cell phone signal. In practice it has been a quick and easy way to avoid accepting asylum claims. But with the ending of the COVID emergency, Title 42 is finished, replaced instead with regular migration policies that the Biden administration says will offer pathways to legitimate asylum seekers, and harsh penalties to those who do not follow the rules. Old, outdated phones From Friday would-be migrants must register their name, date of birth, details of their travel documents, and upload a photograph on CBP One. The app can also log their location and their device details. But old, outdated phones make the process hard. It's harder still for those whose phones were broken or stolen on the long trek north. Antonio Sanchez Ventura lives on the streets of Ciudad Juarez with nothing, eating only what he can scrounge. The glitchy CBP One app is only one of many obstacles migrants say they must endure. His sole focus now is to raise the money to buy a phone and download the app. "It is the dream of every human being to cross to the United States to help our relatives," he said. 'A nightmare' Ciudad Juarez is a tangle of tents and desperation, where people who have made impossible journeys scrape by on hope and charity. Those who have phones search for exposed wires from street lights to charge them, and save every penny they have to buy credit to access the internet. But the challenge does not end there. "Look, it's stuck," said Ronald Huerta, a Venezuelan who on Wednesday couldn't get past the application's language settings. A few meters away, Ana Paola, a 14-year-old Venezuelan, cried disconsolately because the application had been updated and all the information for her family had been deleted. Some migrants arrive at the border with no phone, making it nearly impossible to appy through the CBP One app. "I'm tired! I can't take it anymore!" the teenager shouted as she repeatedly clicked "Submit" to recreate the family's profiles—receiving an "Error 500" message every time. "It's been a nightmare, it's been a torment. This application has caused us emotional, psychological damage," said her father, Juan Pavon. As Title 42 enters its final few hours, some migrants debate just sneaking across the border, hoping to avoid detection long enough to reach some kind of safety. For some, the strategy works. "I waited and waited and waited, but I got fed up, there was no way to get an appointment," said Luis Quintana, a Venezuelan who climbed through a hole in the wall at El Paso after three months on the streets of Ciudad Juarez. For Raul Pinto, an attorney with the American Immigration Council, the app's many problems add another layer of unnecessary despair. "It's frustrating that this important process is left at the mercy of technology that can often be glitchy and that is not going to be accessible by everyone," he told AFP. Even finding a place to charge a cell phone is a challenge for many migrants. The government said this week it would be rolling out updates to the app and increasing the number of appointments available in a bid to ease the logjam. Pinto was hopeful that things would get better, but said there were many aspects of the process that were beyond fixing. "We are very disappointed that there's not an alternative way for people to access this very important and potentially life saving process," he said. https://techxplore.com/news/2023-05-game-chance-migrants-glitchy-app.html

Loongson has posted the first Linux patches to enable support for its next generation 3A6000-series processors, reports Phoronix. The company expects its upcoming LoongArch-based CPUs AMD's Zen 3 in instruction per clock (IPC), which will enable Loongson to challenge leading processor manufacturers. Loongson shared details about the progress of its 3A6000-series CPU development last November when it revealed that the design phase of the project had been concluded and that samples of the processors would be available in the first half of 2023. Now, the company's engineers posted patches enabling the 3A6000's new memory management unit (MMU) or page table walker (PTW) that can handle address translation exceptions (like TLBI, TLBL, TLBS, TLBM) directly in the hardware, boosting performance. The CPU will only require software handling in situations like page faults. Another feature enabled by another patch for Loongson's 3A6000's processors is moving away from full completion barrier (dbar 0) hint to a set of more fine-tuned hints for different memory barriers, which can improve performance. CPU enablement in Linux is an important milestone for any processor development cycle, since it signals that development is proceeding. Enablement alone does not necessarily mean that the new chip is about to be taped out, or is progressing rapidly, but at least it means that its designers are confident enough about its success. Matching IPC performance of AMD's Zen 3 microarchitecture or Intel's Tiger Lake microarchitecture is a big deal for Loongson, whose current CPUs are considerably slower than processors from the leading suppliers. Meanwhile, it should be noted that IPC alone does not necessarily mean that Loongson's 2nd Generation CPUs that rely on its LoongArch microarchitecture will be as fast as AMD's Ryzen 5000-series or Intel's 11th generation Core processors. Clock speed and other aspects of the platform will also play a role. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/loongson-begins-to-enable-cpus-that-could-rival-amd-and-intel-offerings

Crunchyroll is teaming up with Duolingo to help you learn Japanese with some of anime's most famous or iconic phrases. The collaboration is a celebration of the sixth anniversary of Duolingo's Japanese course. From today forward, the Japanese Duolingo course will include almost 50 phrases inspired by anime. A collaboration like this makes a lot of sense. According to the press release, Japanese is the third most po[CENSORED]r language for English speakers on Duolingo. Almost a third of Japanese learners cite fun as their motivation for learning the language, which suggests that anime and video games may be chief motivators. There are also some subscriber promotions associated with the collab. Premium Crunchyroll subscribers can grab two free months of Super Duolingo, the premium version of the app that removes ads and includes additional features. Free Crunchyroll users can obtain a one-month trial of Super Duolingo. Likewise, Duolingo users learning Japanese can pick up one free month of Crunchy Mega Fan premium access for ad-free streaming. Additionally, some series with simple, everyday vocabulary are available on Crunchyroll AVOD for a limited time. These series include Bananya, named for a kitty who lives in a banana, Free - Iwatobi Swim Club, a sports anime about a high school swim team, Laid-Back Camp, the slice-of-life camping series, and Nichijou - My Ordinary Life, the beloved and outrageous comedy about three schoolgirls. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/crunchyroll-and-duolingo-are-collaborating-to-bring-anime-phrases-to-the-language-learning-app/1100-6514250/
