Pet Partners will be celebrating National Therapy Animal Day by hosting a Facebook Live event with therapy animal teams on April 30. The idea behind the event is so communities around the country can experience the incredible benefits of the human-animal bond, officials said in a statement. National Therapy Animal Day was created to recognize all of the exceptional therapy animals who partner with their human companions to bring comfort and healing to those in need, according to officials. “Therapy animals and their human handlers help people of all ages experience the incredible benefits of the human-animal bond,” said C. Annie Peters, president and CEO of Pet Partners, a Bellevue, Wash.-based organization that registers therapy animals for animal-assisted interventions. “It is an honor to recognize our hardworking teams today, and every day, who bring these healing benefits to their communities and improve lives through the power of animals.” Pet Partners officials are also encouraging people to show their support of therapy animals on social media by using #NationalTherapyAnimalDay and tagging Pet Partners. Registered therapy animal teams are encouraged to share photos of therapy animals on visits, whether in-person or virtual. While a majority of Pet Partners therapy animals are dogs, its Therapy Animal Program is open to cats, equines, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, birds, pigs and even llamas and alpacas, according to officials. “There are characteristics that help identify potential therapy animals, which include a calm and friendly temperament, confidence and the ability to follow basic commands,” officials said. “Animals should also enjoy receiving attention, being touched and meeting new people.” Pet Partners has a quiz on its website to determine if an animal might be suitable for therapy animal work.

Stellantis is coming out with a mid-cycle update for the Fiat Toro small pickup assembled in Brazil. The unibody truck has been around in Latin America since 2016 and some of you might know it as a Ram 1000. At 193.5 inches (4,915 millimeters) long and 72.6 in (1,844 mm) wide, it's 2.2 inches shorter and 2.4 inches narrower than the recently unveiled Hyundai Santa Cruz. Not that the two are competing since the Fiat Toro won't be coming to the United States with a Ram badge. New for the 2022 model year are updated split headlights with the upper sections featuring a full-LED setup acting as the turn signals and daytime running lights. The fog lights also switch to light-emitting diodes and the main clusters are thinner than before while using LEDs on the upper-spec trim levels. A more obvious change is the front grille as it now features the Fiat logo with large letters to mirror the corporate identity used by other recent products of the Italian brand, including the smaller Strada pickup (aka Ram 700). Fresh alloy wheels are debuting with the facelift, varying in size from 16 to 18 inches depending on trim. While the exterior hasn't changed all that much, the interior has been subjected to more significant modifications. Chief of which is the portrait-styled infotainment measuring 10.1 inches and similar in appearance to what you'll find in Ram's American trucks. It's the optional touchscreen as the lesser versions have a landscape display with either a 7- or 8.4-inch diagonal. Even the base model gets a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Fiat also has a big update under the hood where it's introducing a new turbocharged 1.3-liter engine feeding on gasoline/ethanol. It pumps out 185 horsepower and 200 pound-feet (270 Newton-meters) of torque channeled exclusively to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Depending on engine, both 4x2 and 4x4 versions are available. The most competent in terms of hauling is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 170 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) sent to both axles through a nine-speed automatic. The 2022 Fiat Toro is now available in Brazil with the following trim structure: Endurance, Freedom, Volcano, Ranch, and Ultra. Pricing kicks off from $21,000 and rises to $34,400 based on current exchange rates.

The po[CENSORED]rity of blogging (which originally derives from ‘personal web log’) continues, whether for profit, or just to have a voice on the web, since over a decade ago when it first captured the internet as the ‘next big thing’. Some blogs are standalone sites, but others are a more personal section that fits into a larger, corporate web site. In order to blog, a blogging platform is required, which takes care of formatting the content in the form of text and images, and provides a framework for getting it onto a website. The blogging platform also makes it easier for a search engine to categorize the blog entries, and to be able to take advantage of marketing and advertising opportunities. So before you start cranking out posts, and welcoming your virtual visitors from around the world, you need to choose the best blogging platform to suit your needs. Check out these great options. Ask any old-time blogger about what platform they started their blog with, and chances are they'll answer that it was Blogger. To this day, Google’s offering in the blogging space still retains several advantages, including that your existing Google account already means you have a Blogger account. A broke startup blog will appreciate that it is free to use, and it will even provide the blogspot.com domain name, as well as the option for a custom domain name. It is also one of the easier platforms to use, and provides a choice of templates that can be flexibly modified. As it is a Google offering, it easily integrates with other Google products, including Google Analytics that can provide information about your website’s visitors that should be used to help grow traffic. Also, your blog can be integrated with Google’s Adsense, that will analyze your content, and display relevant ads to monetize your blog, so you can pay for the coffee as you sit in Starbucks and blog into the night. With all that going for it, is there any reason not to use Blogger? Well, the problem is that as your blog grows, its simplicity means that you may outgrow Blogger at some point. In addition, it can be difficult to transition from Blogger to another platform. WordPress is a po[CENSORED]r blogging platform which is used on a claimed 30% of web sites, that offers an excellent balance between ease of use, and more powerful options. They can handle all the details, and take care of the domain name, the security and the hosting for a one stop shopping option. WordPress offers hundreds of themes, with flexibility in fonts and options for a custom look. They also offer expert support, and credit card payments can be accepted via an available plugin. Pricing starts at the Personal plan for $4 (€3.6, £3.1) monthly billed annually, which removes all WordPress advertising. There is also a free tier available, which is suitable for a noncommercial blog as there is WordPress advertising and no way you can monetize it. The latest version of Jekyll (4.2) is a “simple, blog-aware, static site generator.” Content gets created in TXT files, which get placed into folders. Then you build your site via Liquid language templates. Jekyll then merges the content and the template together, and voila, a website is generated that can be uploaded to a server. For those that need a host, there is integration with Jekyll to host the website for free on GitHub. While there is a comprehensive ‘quick-start guide’ on the Jekyll website, it hardly offers the simplicity of some competing blogging platforms that can do this all from a web interface. However, the benefits that Jekyll offers are the advanced features, which include options for paginating posts, available plugins, excerpt rendering, templates, and community maintained themes. It also supports blog migration from other platforms. The plus here is that there is no cost to the platform, but the downside is that there is only community support, and the work takes place in the Ruby development environment, so many newbies will be put off. While some blogs are well developed, and blur the line between a blog, and a full fledged website, at the other end of things we have Tumblr. It seems to be doing something right as it claims a staggering 500+ million different blogs. It focuses on the more concise end of the spectrum, with an emphasis on shorter content, like just an image, or link, that can appear as more of an alternate social media platform. Content is definitely more short-form, with posts consisting of a variety of material, for example, pics, jokes, quips, Spotify tracks, and video (just remember that adult content is no longer welcome). Like a social media platform, you can also follow other blogs, and republish posts you like to your own blog. The pro is that Tumblr is quite simple to use, costs nothing, and is ideal for use on a mobile device. However, this is not ideal for a more developed blog, as the content remains in the Tumblr ecosystem, and there is no way to monetize it. Typepad is a fully developed blogging platform, designed for the professional blogger. It offers a ton of flexibility, including the ability to publish from email, a web browser, or mobile. It also easily integrates with Google Analytics, and has its own affiliate plan. Typepad supports design customization with a Theme Builder for a custom look, and the option for creating your own custom template or modifying a theme with custom CSS. Typepad is also fully hosted, and has support available. After the initial 14-day trial, plans start at $8.95 (£8) per month for up to four blogs with unlimited storage.

Keyboard shortcuts should make life easier, not more complicated—that's why we love Katie Dumont's Raspberry Pi Pico Macro Keypad project! This custom-made Pico keypad not only stores macros but also helps you keep track of different keyboard shortcut profiles for multiple applications. The device was designed entirely from scratch by Dumont. It features a matrix of 12 keys spanning three rows down and four columns across. The best Raspberry Pi projects have a professional touch and, in this case, each key is using Cherry MX switches for a professional click. A rotary encoder is used to cycle between the shortcut profiles. When I mentioned that Dumont designed everything from scratch, I meant it. She developed a case just for the occasion using OpenSCAD and this was fabricated using a 3D printer. The end result is a sleek, custom shell that snugly houses each component. Rubber feet are used to keep the base from sliding around while it's in use. Programmed using CircuitPython, a version of MicroPython from Adafruit, Dumont's project was written using Mu an IDE aimed squarely at beginners that is compatible with Python, MicroPython, CircuitPython on devices such as Adafruit's boards, Raspberry Pi and micro:bit. When plugged into a computer it is recognized as a keypad device, no matter what operating system it is used with. A built-in LCD screen is used to see which application profile is currently active and this can be changed to another pre-programmed layout using the rotary encoder. If you want to recreate this Pico shortcut keypad, check out the project thread at Element14 for more details and resources to get started.

A cat has been rescued after getting stuck in a 15ft (4.5m) drain. Norman, a grey moggy, found himself in a spot of bother deep beneath a road in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, on Wednesday night. Fire crews used chimney rodding equipment to entice the furry feline out during the two-hour rescue mission. The cat's owner Rosie Saunders said his rescuers were "fantastic" and added: "Naughty Norman is now sleeping it all off at home." She and her partner went out to look for Norman when he failed to turn up for his tea at their home in Dandelion Drive at about 18:00 BST. "We were calling him and I heard mewing, looked down a grill to a drain, and I could see his little face," Miss Saunders said. They believe their pet chased something into an uncovered pipe that leads to a dyke, and then got stuck. "We used everything we could to get him out - we crowbarred up the grill, and tried to push him along with a hosepipe, but he kept running back." 'That bloomin' cat' After about an hour they gave in and called Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service. "I've never had to ring 999 in my life before, and the first time I do, it's for a bloomin' cat stuck down a drain - I was so embarrassed," said Miss Saunders. A spokesman for the fire service said the local on-call crew had "purrrrformed the pawfect rescue", after Norman "found himself stuck in a deep drain". "The crew did a great job making use of the equipment we have in an innovative way to ensure Norman was rescued safely in front of a watching crowd of neighbours," watch commander Kev Gilbert said. Since being pulled to safety, "naughty Norman" had spent much of the time sleeping somewhat sheepishly beneath a footstool, said Miss Saunders. "He's so tired - I think he worried himself a bit," she added. Thanking the crew for rescuing him, she said: "We really appreciate everything they did for us last night - thank you."

It hasn't been a while since the latest 2021 Porsche 718 models in US showrooms, but buyers who have received their units recently will have to return them for a needed fix. According to the documents released by the NHTSA, 190 units of 2021 model year 718 models are being recalled due to a faulty component that could lead to engine damage. The vehicles included in the recall are all equipped with naturally-aspirated flat-six engines, namely the Cayman GT4, Cayman and Boxster GTS 4.0, and 718 Spyder. Porsche has also issued a stop-sale of the mentioned 718 models, a spokesperson told Car and Driver. The problem lies with the connecting rod that connects the piston to the crankshaft. According to the recall document released, there's a possibility that these connecting rods were not manufactured according to specification. This could lead to cracks, creating a loss of preload on the connecting rod screw connection. The connecting rods were manufactured by Hoeckle Austria GmbH. More importantly, the defective connecting rods may lead to damages to the engine block, stalling, loss of power, and oil leakage when driven at high loads. There's also a risk of fire due to these damages. There are 190 vehicles affected by the said recall, all manufactured between January 26 to March 4, 2021. The VIN ranges for the affected 718 models are listed on the NHTSA document via the source link below. While the document says that Porsche is scheduled to notify dealers and affected owners on or before May 23, 2021, the automaker told Car and Driver that owners have already been notified. Porsche will either replace the connecting rod or the entire engine, depending on the assessment.

(WXOW) — If you’re using an older version of our weather app or our news app, we encourage you to update to the newest versions ahead of severe weather season to ensure that you receive uninterrupted weather information. Our weather data provider is phasing out the systems that provide weather data to weather apps made to run on Apple devices running iOS version 11 and lower, as well as Android devices running operating system Android version 6 and lower. The phase-out happened on March 31, 2021. This change also affects very old versions of our news apps, likely running on older phones. If your phones and tablets support newer versions of the operating systems, we suggest updating your device. Doing so may allow you to then update your news and weather apps to current versions. Our weather data provider said, “Users that are unable to update to higher versions of Android or iOS will be unable to install newer versions of the app and thus will be subject to data outages after the end of life date.” It’s always best to keep your apps updated and current for the best user experience.

After teasing a 64-bit version of its cloud storage solution earlier this year, Microsoft has revealed that its updated version of OneDrive is now available in public preview. While the software giant first released a 64-bit version of Windows back in 2003, up until now users could only access a 32-bit version of the software to store their files, photos and other documents. The problem with running 32-bit software on a 64-bit version of Windows 10 is that 32-bit programs can only access 4GB of system memory even on systems with higher amounts of memory. We've assembled a list of the best cloud storage services available These are the best free cloud storage solutions on the market Also check out our roundup of the best business cloud storage By making OneDrive available as a native 64-bit application, users will likely see a performance increase as the software can now use more of their available RAM. 64-bit OneDrive In a new blog post, Microsoft's Ankita Kirti explained that the new 64-bit version of OneDrive will make it easier to transfer large files, saying: “The 64-bit version is the right choice if you plan to use large files, if you have a lot of files, and if you have a computer that's running a 64-bit version of Windows. Computers running 64-bit versions of Windows generally have more resources—such as processing power and memory—than their 32-bit predecessors. Also, 64-bit applications can access more memory than 32-bit applications (up to 18.4 million Petabytes).” It's also worth noting that at the moment the 64-bit version of OneDrive is only available for systems running Intel or AMD processors. For now, users with ARM64 devices will need to continue using the 32-bit version of the software. Interested users can download the 64-bit version of OneDrive here for use with their OneDrive work, school and home accounts.

Finding an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X available at (or even close) to its $299 MSRP these days makes you about as lucky as Indiana Jones picking the Holy Grail on his first try. This processor has become an incredibly po[CENSORED]r choice for anyone looking to grab a no-compromise gaming chip on a budget, which means there's plenty of competition for its limited stock. Earning 4.5 stars in our AMD Ryzen 5 5600X review, this chip is so highly sought after, because of its strong single- and multi-threaded performance, leading power efficiency and PCIe Gen4 support. It also features stellar thermals, a bundled cooler and overclocking capability, so there’s a lot to love here. While certain other Ryzen chips, like the Ryzen 7 5800X, are more frequently in stock now, it can feel next to impossible to find this lower-priced chip without a more eagle-eyed lookout. But we can help with that by showing you all the places you can pick one up and giving you some tips about when the retailers usually restock. AMD Ryzen 5 5600X stock is very limited in the US, with small quantities available at Newegg. In the UK, however, stock has been consistently available across Amazon UK, Box, Overclockers and Scan. Ryzen 5 5600X restocks are pretty random across this selection of retailers and usually drop in unannounced. When we catch wind of restock rumors, we’ll let you know, but we do have some advice for each retailer, to give you the best chance at getting one.

Update: Treyarch community manager Torres has reasserted that the Zombies bans for Black Ops Cold War players aren't mistakes. "I stated in my post that the bans are not the result of the disconnect or the disconnect error," Torres posted on Reddit. "The recent enforcements are not bugs or errors." It would appear that any players who have been banned will be very much staying banned. Original: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War developer Treyarch is investigating why players are being sent ban messages instead of standard disconnect messages. In the tweet below, Treyarch community manager Josh Torres reveals that the Black Ops Cold War developer is aware of the error in the game, and actively working on a fix. The error appears to occur when players are disconnected from a game of Zombies in Black Ops Cold War, but instead of being sent the standard disconnect message, they're instead seeing a message that they've been banned It's quite a bizzare bug, in all. Players over on the official Call of Duty Zombies subreddit have been speaking up about being banned incorrectly from the game due to this error, hence developer Treyarch voicing that they were looking into a fix as soon as possible. Over on the Warzone side of things, there have been more reports of legitimate bans. Earlier today on April 8, developer Raven Software tweeted that they'd just banned over 15,000 players from the battle royale game, adding that there would be "more to come." This is all part of Raven Software's ongoing pledge to ban as many cheaters as possible in their game. Earlier this year, high-profile Warzone players started speaking up about cheaters drastically affected the battle royale, causing Raven to announce that they'd banned over 60,000 cheaters, and pledging monthly updates on cheating countermeasures. Since then, there have been four recorded ban waves in Warzone, and the total number of banned cheaters in Warzone appears to be closing in on half a million.

President Joe Biden's dog Major has been involved in a second biting incident at the White House, NBC News has confirmed. "Major is still adjusting to his new surroundings and he nipped someone while on a walk. Out of an abundance of caution, the individual was seen by the White House Medic Unit and then returned to work without injury," said Jill Biden's press secretary, Michael LaRosa. The incident, which was first reported by CNN, is the second nipping incident for the Bidens' rambunctious 3-year-old German shepherd. He "nipped" a Secret Service agent's hand earlier this month. "No skin was broken," a Secret Service official said at the time, describing the injury as "extremely minor." Afterward, Major and the Biden's other German shepherd, Champ, 12, briefly returned to the Bidens' home in Wilmington, Delaware, where Major got some additional training. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the Wilmington trip had been planned because Jill Biden was traveling and that it wasn't punishment for Major.

any lovers of engines and powerful cars do not like it, while others praise it because it is useful to the state coffers. This is the 'malus' contribution for cars with emissions over 160 grams of CO2 per kilometer. In the palaces of politics in Rome there is discussion to maximize the collection, not yet functioning properly. At least if today we count the contribution paid for the two-year period March 2019-March 2021: approximately 102 million euros. There are 77,500 owners of new cars that can be trivially defined as "big" even if this is not always the case, who have paid the due to the tax authorities. Against the approximately 300 thousand vehicles involved, for a much higher expected revenue (even half a billion euros). Some deputies of the 5 Star Movement then push to go ahead with the idea of "the more polluters, the more pays" without wasting time. Others, on the other hand, appreciate the cut that files the eco-tax leaving it only for cars with higher emissions, over 190 grams of CO2. The proceeds of the malus that on average supporters say relate to "expensive" cars would then serve to re-finance the incentives when they run out, for those who buy electric or hybrid cars. “It is right that anyone who has the opportunity to buy a car with a high impact on the environment worth more than 50,000 euros also pays a tax ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 euros, ” the Movement recalled.

Ramadan 2021 Date: Also known as Ramazan or Ramzan, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is observed by people belonging to the Muslim community around the world. It is considered to be a holy month of fasting and praying, and of engaging in humanitarian activities such as feeding the underprivileged, and doing good deeds for the poor. This year, Ramadan begins on April 13, a Monday, and ends on May 12, which is a Wednesday. This annual observance is regarded as one of the five pillars of Islam. It lasts between one sighting of the crescent moon and the next. It is said that Ramadan is the commemoration of Prophet Muhammad’s first revelation. As mentioned earlier, fasting is a must for all adult Muslims, unless someone is sick, is travelling, is having their menstrual cycle, is pregnant, diabetic, or an elderly. During this time, the pre-dawn meal is referred to as ‘suhur‘ or ‘sehri‘, and the feast that happens after a fast is broken at night is called ‘iftar‘. Prophet Muhammed is believed to have received his first Quranic revelation on ‘Laylat al-Qadr‘ — one of five odd-numbered nights that fall during the last ten days of Ramadan. Eid al-Fitr takes place as the month of Ramadan draws to a close. The date is dependent on the sighting of the new moon. Once the sighting is confirmed, the festival begins. The month of Ramadan is an exercise in self-restraint and self-discipline. It is observed as a way of coming closer to Allah, to physically and spiritually detoxify by getting rid of impulses and vices.
