  2. A new Nintendo eShop update is live with this month's new Nintendo Switch Online games. For the month of February, Nintendo Switch Online is adding four new games, or more specifically, three SNES games and one NES game. Back on February 9, Nintendo announced the four games coming to the subscription service, and today, all four of these games were added. In other words, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on Switch and Switch Lite have the following three SNES games to enjoy: Doomsday Warrior, Pyscho Dream, and Prehistorik Man. Meanwhile, subscribers can also now download and play Fire n' Ice, the new NES game. As always, all four of these additions are permanent additions, which means that as long you maintain an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online -- which runs at $20 for 12 months -- you can play a vast library of NES and SNES games as much as you want. And right now, this is the only way to play these games on Switch and Switch Lite. Below, you can read more about each game: Psycho Dream: When Sayaka doesn’t return to reality after entering an immersive virtual world known as a D-Movie, the protagonists, Ryo and Maria, must progress through a terrifying fantasy game called Legend of the Fallen Capital to rescue her and bring her back to reality. Doomsday Warrior: It’s the Doomsday Warrior versus the Doom Squad! This action game features an evil sorcerer who has recruited seven warriors to take over Earth. But one of the Doom Squad has resisted the influence and now stands against the rest as the Doomsday Warrior! Prehistorik Man: Sam the caveman’s quest to save his village begins! Sam lives in a village whose food is stolen by dinosaurs. To get more, Sam must collect bones, which he can then use to buy food. On his way, he’ll need to make use of a variety of weapons, vehicles and attacks, including shouting, to attack all on-screen foes. Can Sam reach the dinosaur graveyard and collect enough bones? Fire ’n Ice: As Dana, you have been chosen by the Queen of the Winter Fairies to bear the power of ice magic. With it, you must defend your home, Coolmint Island, from the wicked wizard Druidle and his flames! In case you missed it, the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot movie has been releasing character posters featuring the cast in all their decked-out glory in advance of the first full trailer for the film dropping tomorrow. At this point, the movie has shared motion posters for characters like Sub-Zero, Kano, and more -- with the promise of more to come. So, we've gathered all of them here and will continue to add them as they are released. Here is the official synopsis for the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie, which was relatively recently revealed: "MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?" The Mortal Kombat reboot film is currently scheduled to release on April 16th on both HBO Max and in theaters. The cast includes Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, and Lewis Tan as new character Cole Young. This season of Fortnite has been defying fans' expectations in so many ways, between crossing over between various movie and TV franchises and introducing some major new mechanics into the game. With less than a month to go until the end of Fortnite's Chapter 2 Season 5, there's definitely been a sense of anticipation building among its fans for what lies ahead -- and it seems like the game could already be laying the groundwork for that. A Reddit post from stickninja1015 recently went viral, which shows multiple of the game's NPC characters now offering dialogue that appears to tease some sort of event. This includes Mancake asking if "that thing" -- referencing the Zero Point -- has always been unstable, and Menace teasing that he feels that they're "gonna have a good fight on their hands."

  4. MSI dropped some bombs today during the transmission of its MSI Insider Show. In addition to revealing the pricing for its B560 and H510 motherboards, the company the also teased its upcoming MEG Z590 Unify/Unify-X motherboards for Rocket Lake-S processors. MSI's Unify series of motherboards are recognized for two main traits. They arrive with a pure black design that lacks RGB lighting (for those that hate RGB), and they're also heavy on overclocking features. As anticipated, MSI will be bringing the MEG Z590 Unify and Unify-X motherboards to exploit Intel's Rocket Lake-S chips. The pair of motherboards are like manna from heaven for enthusiasts that require more connectivity than what the MEG Z590I Unify has to offer. Adhering to the standard ATX form factor, the MEG Z590 Unify and Unify-X share identical specifications, except for the number of memory slots. The Unify-X will only come with two DDR4 memory slots that will ultimately help with memory overclocking, given the shorter traces. MEG Z590 Unify MEG Z590 Unify (Image credit: MSI) Made to compete with the best motherboards, both Unify motherboards exploit a 16-phase power delivery subsystem with power stages rated for 90A each. A pair of 8-pin EPS power connectors are present to feed the processor with more juice than it can handle. MSI didn't touch too much on the memory slots, but we expect the motherboards to easily support all of the best RAM, including memory modules faster than DDR4-5000. Despite being overclocking-oriented, the MEG Z590 Unify and Unify-X aren't short on other features either. The storage options include six normal SATA III connectors, three PCIe 4.0 x4 slots and one PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. Since multi-GPU setups are a thing of the past, the Unify motherboards only come with one PCIe 4.0 x16 expansion slot. With Rocket Lake-S, you basically have 20 high-speed PCIe 4.0 lanes at your disposal. The Unify motherboards' layout allows you to manage the PCIe 4.0 x16 expansion slot in two ways. If you decide to limit the PCIe 4.0 x16 expansion slot to x8, it opens up the opportunity for you to run the three M.2 slots at PCIe 4.0 x4. On the flipside, if you rather have your expansion slot at x16, you'll be limited to one M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. The Unify motherboards' other attributes include 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet networking, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, Lightning USB 20G (USB 3.2 Gen 2x2) port and MSI's Audio Boost 5 technology.
  5. if you like giving people rides, just not in your own car or maybe because you don't have a car, Kinto is a service that will get you behind the wheel of a Toyota for around $200 a week. A new deal in Vancouver, British Columbia, adds the hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai to the list of vehicles people can rent for up to four weeks if they drive for Lyft. In the U.S., Kinto operates with Uber in Southern California and Fort Bend, Texas, but the Mirai is not part of the program there. Renting a car just to use it as you drive for a ride-sharing app is nothing new, but the setup is getting some high-pressure tweaks in Vancouver, Canada, thanks to Toyota and Lyft. The gist? For $200 a week you can get behind the wheel of a hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai, and then it's up to you to hustle your way to profits. The plan is being operated by Toyota's Kinto Share program, which will charge eligible Lyft drivers $198 plus fees and taxes for seven days in a Mirai. Drivers can reserve a Mirai for up to a month at a time, and Kinto covers the insurance and scheduled maintenance, but not the fuel, for the rental during this time. You also don't get any keys with this rental, as access to the car is done completely through your smartphone and the Kinto Share app. Also, you have to go to a local Toyota dealership to pick up the car, and it turns out that the $200-a-week cost is only good until late summer. The rates jump to $288 a week after August 1, 2021. The benefits of driving a hydrogen-powered car are similar to a battery EV since they both produce zero emissions. An H2 vehicle can be refilled in less than 10 minutes as hydrogen stations, and Lyft notes there are three such stations in and around Vancouver. Lyft said that around 20 percent of all of the vehicles involved in the Lyft platform in the Metro Vancouver region are either zero-emission vehicles or hybrids. The Mirais available through this deal are the first-gen models, specifically from the 2019 model year, not the much better-looking second-gen vehicle which, in the U.S. at least, is only sold in California. Kinto makes a note in its FAQ that that 2019 Mirai does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. But where do they get refueled? Lyft supplies the addresses of three hydrogen refueling stations that are up and running in metro Vancouver. Kinto did not respond to our questions about a possible expansion of the Mirai service to the U.S., where it would really only work in the Los Angeles or San Francisco areas. Kinto currently operates two U.S. locations, in Southern California and Fort Bend, Texas, where it offers"weekly, daily, & hourly car rentals for Uber, delivery, & personal use." In the U.S., Kinto offers a number of Toyota vehicles, including hybrids, starting at a cost of $5.50 an hour or $215 a week, plus taxes.
  6. A new Russian law that came into force at the start of February 2021 places the burden of blocking prohibited content on po[CENSORED]r social media platforms. This signals a change of pace for the RuNet, where content blocking was previously done by internet service providers or hosting services at the behest of state officials, law enforcement or courts. The new law, №530-FZ, introduces a legal definition for “social networks”: any platform with over 500,000 daily visitors will now officially be classed as such and added to a special state registry. These officially designated “social network” sites will have to find and remove illegal content on their pages under their own steam, and will face stiff fines—anywhere from 800,000 rubles to 4 million rubles (10,860 to 54,310 USD)—if they fail to do so. Repeat offenses can lead to fines of up to one-tenth of the platform's annual revenue. The types of online content currently classified as illegal under Russian law include sexually explicit images of children, information relating to drug use, suicide or propagating “dangerous activities” among minors, and adverts for alcohol or gambling. Information that offends human dignity or public morals or displays disrespect towards “society, the state, state symbols or public officials” is also prohibited. Another important category of banned content includes calls to mass disorder, extremism, terrorism or calls for participation in unsanctioned mass events, e.g., protest rallies. It's worth noting that many social media platforms list many of these content categories as violating their platform terms of service, and likely already remove such content regularly as part of their content moderation practices. Experts point out that the most likely reason for the new legislation is the state's desire to curtail the growing discontent and protest activity in the country. Mikhail Tretyak, head of IP/IT-practice at Digital Rights Center, told independent news outlet The Bell: Translation Original Quote The law is aimed at mandatory blocking of content shared by opposition politicians. It also bans information offensive towards state bodies, and calls for mass disorder and participation in unsanctioned public events. The owner of the social network must also prevent their platform from being used for disclosing information that constitutes a state secret or any other secret information guarded by the law. State-friendly NGO Safe Internet League has welcomed the law and has already compiled a list of social media platforms it believes should be added to the new registry posthaste. This list includes Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Telegram, and WhatsApp. Elena Mizulina, head of Safe Internet League, told state-run TASS news agency: Translation Original Quote We implore Roskomnazdor not to procrastinate on the creation of the registry, the faster it is created, the faster the law will start working and the faster social networks in Russia will be cleansed of illegal information. Sarkis Darbinyan, lead lawyer for digital rights organization Roskomsvoboda, thinks the new law will be more troublesome for Russian social networks, who may have to invest in more real-time content moderation. Platforms based outside Russia with no headquarters in the country can ignore the demands and are less likely to face wholesale blocking, Darbinyan says:

  8. If you’re still waiting to buy a PS5 then this week could be the best chance yet, with most UK retailers expected to get stock back in. It seems hard to believe the PlayStation 5 could already have sold over 4.5 million consoles, given how near impossible it is to find in shops. You certainly can’t just visit a website and expect to pick one up whenever you want, but more and more people are getting lucky and while stock never lasts for long it can be had when you know when to look. Rumours suggest that multiple retailers will be getting stock this week, including Amazon.co.uk, GAME, Argos, Currys PC World, John Lewis, Very, and AO. That’s the first time everyone has had stock since launch, which is certainly encouraging. How to get advance warning of PS5 stock in the UK The big question, of course, is when the stock will be available to buy, as there’s rarely any official forewarning and, as usual, it’s almost certain to run out in just minutes – as scalper’s bots take the lion’s share. Twitter account PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates, which has proven accurate in the past, has set up a YouTube feed to warn when stock becomes available, although at the end of the day it’s all down to you being able to spring into action the second it goes online. Stock could become available at any time, from Monday, so the best thing to do is leave the YouTube stream running in the background and make sure you have a loud pair of speakers, so you hear the warning. MORE: GAMES NEWS Pokémon trading card eBay sales increase almost 600% in one year Black PS5 controllers on sale now, black faceplates sold out Fortnite x Tron crossover contains new cosmetics but no Tron The hope is that that PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, will slowly become more available as the months go on, although chip manufacturer AMD has warned it may be the autumn before the situation radically improves. Microsoft has been a little more optimistic and suggested June (Sony has never commented on the situation) but all companies are suffering from the same problem in terms of the scarcity of semiconductors, which has made high-end PC graphics cards just as scarce.
  9. Elon Musk has tweeted that Tesla's are going to get a new V11 software update which will add a ton of features that users have long wanted and perhaps some that aren't expected. "Tesla holiday software release is fire," tweeted the eccentric CEO. Over the air updates for Tesla's vehicles are nothing new. Tesla's get updated constantly but often these are minor updates, with few feature updates but more optimisations and bug fixes. But this V11 update is being projected as a major update. This is a successor to the V10 update that came in September 2019. tesla model s The Model S remains the flagship vehicle for the world's most valuable automative Photo Credit: autoevolution The September 2019 update brought forth a user interface changes, Tesla Theatre, Caraoke and many improvements which are offered for free. Musk tweeted, "So many things you want and some you didn't know you wanted." Musk is likely talking about a bird's eye view which can be deployed through the AutoPilot cameras for the full self-driving package. Musk has previously also mentioned the addition of a native video conferencing feature in the cars. There could also be a feature that allows passengers and the driver to speak to people around the car through its external speakers. Tesla has a team developing video games too - and this update could add some games into the Tesla interface. This update is likely to come in December on the basis of Musk's tweets. Through one should not confuse this update for the full self-driving beta
  10. In this tutorial, we will train our Raspberry Pi to identify other Raspberry Pis (or other objects of your choice) with Machine Learning (ML). Why is this important? An example of an industrial application for this type of ML is identifying defects in circuit boards. As circuit boards exit the assembly line, a machine can be trained to identify a defective circuit board for troubleshooting by a human. We have discussed ML and Artificial Intelligence in previous articles, including facial recognition and face mask identification. In the facial recognition and face mask identification projects, all training images were stored locally on the Pi and the model training took a long time as it was also performed on the Pi. In this article, we’ll use a web platform called Edge Impulse to create and train our model to alleviate a few processing cycles from our Pi. Another advantage of Edge Impulse is the ease of uploading training images, which can be done from a smartphone (without an app). We will use BalenaCloudOS instead of the standard Raspberry Pi OS since the folks at Balena have pre-built an API call to Edge Impulse. The previous facial recognition and face mask identification tutorials also required tedious command line package installs and Python code. This project eliminates all terminal commands and instead utilizes an intuitive GUI interface. 12. A new tease from a prominent Xbox Series X insider has Xbox fans going wild with speculation. So far, 2021 has been a slow year for Xbox gamers. Last month, The Medium, an Xbox-console exclusive, released, but it failed to light the world on fire. Later in the year, Xbox fans have Halo Infinite and more to look forward to, but right now, there's not a ton to be excited about that's not Xbox Game Pass, which added some great games this week. That said, prominent Xbox insider, Jez Corden, did seemingly drop a tantalizing tease this week. Over on Twitter, fellow Xbox insider, Klobrille, criticized the gaming media over a perceived lack of knowledge when it comes to Xbox first-party and what Microsoft is trying to do with the brand. Responding to this, Corden replied with "we ain't seen nothin yet," followed by, "oh boy." Now, as you can see, this reply is pretty cryptic in implication. On one hand, it seems Corden is suggesting the media takes on Xbox are about to get worse. However, given Corden's reputation as an insider, and given his tendency to drop vague teases like this every once in a while, many Xbox fans have taken this as a tip of the hat that something big is about to happen with Xbox. And of course, it's possible both of these things are true at the same time. Interestingly, this all comes on the back of rumors that Microsoft is getting ready to buy Techland, the developer behind the Dying Light series. However, today, the Polish company shot down these acquisition rumors. Microsoft is an unimaginably massive company with a ton of resources to throw around, and the past 12 months Xbox has been a great example of this. Not only is Microsoft dumping a ton of money into acquisitions, but aggressively expanding services. For now, it's unclear what Corden is getting at or what will come of the possible tease. That said, this uncertainty hasn't stopped Xbox fans from going mad with speculation in the replies and elsewhere. For more coverage on all things Xbox -- including all of the latest on the Xbox Series X Huge Nintendo Leak Reveals 4 Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games: A huge Nintendo leak has revealed several upcoming Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite games. Unfortunately, if you're looking for new Zelda, Mario, or Metroid games, this new leak is going to leave you disappointed. Not only are all four games from third-party developers and publishers, but none of them are brand spanking new releases, but ports. That said, there are some notable ports. The leak comes the way of the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, which frequently rates games ahead of release before they are announced or revealed, or in other words, leaks them. Recently the rating agency out of Taiwan rated The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles not just for Nintendo Switch, but PS4 and PC. At the moment of publishing, Capcom hasn't announced a revival of the pair of 3DS games, but we did hear about this collection in a huge Capcom leak last year. Not only does this rating seemingly verify the leak, but it suggests the collection is releasing sooner rather than later. The rating board has also rated Tales from the Borderlands for Switch. This month, 2K announced it was re-releasing the Borderlands game on PS4, Xbox One, and PC after it was removed from stores a couple of years ago. At the time, it said nothing about a Switch version, but it looks like it's coming to the Nintendo platform as well. The leaks didn't end here though. The rating board also rated Secret Neighbor for Nintendo Switch, a spin-off of the po[CENSORED]r thriller Hello Neighbor that hit back in 2019. And it also rated SnowRunner for Switch, which debuted last year to a strong reception.

The premium true wireless earphones were launched in January in India alongside the Samsung Galaxy S21 series of smartphones, and are priced at Rs. 15,990. The latest update appears to be only rolling out in limited countries, and follows an earlier update rollout which brought improvements for the balance, Bixby voice wake-up response time, and better system stability. The latest software update, reported on by SamMobile, appears to only be available in the US for now, as a quick check with our review unit showed that it's not yet available in India. The update is said to bring improvements for active noise cancellation, ambient sound mode, and system stability and reliability. Other changes include updates to the operating concept when using a single earpiece has also been implemented. The update is just 2.2MB in size, and can be applied using the Galaxy Wear app for Android or Galaxy Buds app for iOS, where supported and available. 14. Finding the best graphics card at anything approaching reasonable pricing has become increasingly difficult. Just about everything we've tested in our GPU benchmarks hierarchy is sold out unless you go to eBay, but current eBay prices will take your breath away. If you thought things were bad before, they're apparently getting even worse. No doubt, a lot of this is due to the recent uptick in Ethereum mining's profitability on GPUs, compounded by component shortages, and it's not slowing down. A couple of weeks back, we wrote about Michael Driscoll tracking scalper sales of Zen 3 CPUs. Driscoll also covered other hot ticket items like RTX 30-series GPUs, RDNA2 / Big Navi GPUs, Xbox Series S / X, and PlayStation 5 consoles. Thankfully, he provided the code to his little project, and we've taken the opportunity to run the data (with some additional filtering out of junk 'box/picture only' sales) to see how things are going in the first six weeks of 2021. Here's how things stand for the latest AMD and Nvidia graphics cards: [Update: We've added all 30 of the best mining GPUs most commonly used for Ethereum mining.] That's ... disheartening. Just in the past month, prices have increased anywhere from 10% to 35% on average. The increase is partly due to the recent graphics card tariffs, and as you'd expect, the jump in prices is more pronounced on the lower-priced GPUs. For example, the RTX 3060 Ti went from average prices of $690 in the first week of January to $920 in the past week. It also represents nearly 3,000 individual sales on eBay, after filtering out junk listings — and these are actual sales, not just items listed on eBay. RTX 3080 saw the next-biggest jump in pricing, going from $1,290 to $1,593 for the same time periods, with 3,400 listings sold. 02/10/20The Tom's Hardware Show 10/1: Nvidia RTX 30-Series Stability and Intel Tiger Lake Nvidia's RTX 3070 represents the largest number of any specific GPU sold, with nearly 5,400 units, but prices have only increased 17% — from $804 in January to $940 in February. The February price is interesting because it's only slightly higher than the RTX 3060 Ti price, which suggests strongly that it's Ethereum miners snapping up most of these cards. (The 3060 Ti hits roughly the same 60MH/s as the 3070 after tuning since they both have the same 8GB of GDDR6 memory.) Wrapping up Nvidia, the RTX 3090 accounts for 2,291 units sold on eBay, with pricing increasing 14% since January. For the most expensive GPU that already had an extreme price, it's pretty shocking to see it move up from $2,087 to a new average of $2,379. I suppose it really is the heir to the Titan RTX throne now. AMD Radeon 6900 XT (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) We see a similar pattern on the AMD side, but at far lower volumes in terms of units sold. The RX 6900 XT had 334 listings sold, with average pricing moving up just 8% from $1,458 to $1,570 during the past six weeks. Considering it delivers roughly the same mining performance as the less expensive Big Navi GPUs, that makes sense from the Ethereum mining perspective. Radeon RX 6800 XT prices increased 11% from $1,179 in January to $1,312 in February. It's also the largest number of GPUs sold (on eBay) for Team Red, at 448 graphics cards. Not far behind is the RX 6800 vanilla, with 434 units. It saw the biggest jump in pricing over the same period, from $865 to $1,018 (18%). That strongly correlates with expected profits from GPU mining. That's both good and bad news. The good news is that gamers are most likely being sensible and refusing to pay these exorbitant markups. The bad news is that as long as mining remains this profitable, stock and pricing of graphics cards isn't likely to recover. It's 2017 all over again, plus the continuing effects of the pandemic.

  17. Land Rover is known for making SUVs of different sizes and purposes. Whether on trails or for urban crawling, there's definitely a Land Rover for you. Despite its renown in making vehicles on robust platforms, the British automaker didn't really make a full-blown pickup truck outside the Defender nameplate. Can you imagine a Land Rover Discovery pickup truck? Actually, that's a pretty neat idea, especially for the Discovery 4 (also known as LR4 in the US), and would definitely expand the bounds of Land Rover utility beyond the Defender. If you're having a tough time imagining, here's an example from Mexico and it's real. Gallery: Land Rover Discovery Pickup Conversion Land Rover Discovery Pickup Conversion This Discovery pickup truck conversion was done by VA-K Innovation, a Mexican company that specializes in conversion. Choosing the Discovery 4 was quite obvious because of its body-on-frame construction. Using the standard tubular steel method to extend the frame, these guys completed the conversion, integrating OEM parts whenever possible. The result is quite neat, as you can see in the images above, and we never thought we'd want a Discovery pickup truck until we saw this one. Even better, the bed even came with wood flooring, adding a touch of finesse into the otherwise rugged build VA-K Innovation told The Drive that the truck above is a one-off creation, powered by a 5.0-liter gasoline V8 engine, which makes 370 horsepower (276 kilowatts) and 376 pound-feet (510 Newton-meters) of pull. Pricing, however, wasn't disclosed but seeing how cool this midsize truck looks, spending a bit wouldn't be so bad. If you're as enamored as us, don't hesitate to contact VA-K Innovation through its official Facebook page. The company isn't closing its doors to the idea of making more in the future
  18. 12-year-old Reem El-Khouly started offering instruction to her younger neighbours in Atmidah, about 80 km northeast of Cairo, when schools across Egypt were shut due to the coronavirus pandemic. Every day up to 30 children gather for school lessons in a narrow village street in Egypt's northern Dakahlia province. Their teacher is 12-year-old Reem El-Khouly, who started offering instruction to her younger neighbours in Atmidah, about 80 km (50 miles) northeast of Cairo, when schools across Egypt were shut due to the coronavirus pandemic. "I thought that instead of having them play in the street, I can teach them," said Khouly. "I wake up in the morning, pray and I call them to start the classes. I teach them Arabic, mathematics, religion and English." Khouly started using just a notebook before being given a blackboard and some chalk. Now she has a whiteboard and marker pens donated by a local company. "Once the schools were closed, Reem started teaching us so that we don't forget what we learned at school," said Mohamed Abdel Moneim, a nine-year-old who attends the classes. "I love Miss Reem because I really understand Arabic, maths and English due to her teaching." Khouly hopes to work as a maths teacher when she is older. "My mum didn't encourage me in the beginning because my voice was loud, but she encouraged me when she saw how the students were interacting with me and benefiting, and told me I can do this as long as I like it," she said.
  19. At least nine men who participated in the Capitol riot on January 6 have a history of exhibiting violence against women, an investigation by the Huffington Post uncovered. The Capitol riot on January 6 left at least five people, including one police officer, dead. Members of the Proud Boys, which is classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, were reportedly present. Organizers were emboldened by President Donald Trump's urges to protest the results of the 2020 election with him, despite Democrat Joe Biden's election victory. While members of Congress were meeting inside the Capitol building day to certify the results, supporters organized an attempted coup and stormed the Capitol building. Upon news that the riot breached the Capitol building, lawmakers began to shelter in place and many evacuated. Nine men who were part of the storm were charged with acts of violence against women, HuffPost reported. Some had restraining orders taken out against them because of allegations of domestic violence. Three of the nine men are veterans, HuffPost's Alanna Vagianos reported. Men with militaristic pasts can create "dire consequences for women," Vagianos reported, citing Dr. Miranda Christou, a senior fellow at the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right. "You have forms of masculinity that depend on militarized expressions: the uniforms, the guns, the paraphernalia, the whole idea of the military structure and discipline," Christou told HuffPost. "When the institution of the military infiltrates social life and that sense of masculinity and what makes you a man depends on that ― depends on the gun on the side of your hip ― that becomes a problem for women." One man, Larry Rendall Brock Jr., stormed the building carrying zip-tie handcuffs and wearing full combat gear. Brock had sent several threatening messages to his ex-wife, HuffPost reported. He was described as a "terroristic threat of family/household" during one call to the police. larry rendall brock rioter capitol surge Retired Air Force officer Larry Rendall Brock, Jr., wearing a combat helmet, in the Senate chamber in the US Capitol, in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. Reffitt in 2018 pushed his wife onto a bed and began to choke her, according to a police report obtained by HuffPost. Mathew Capsel of Marseille, Illinois, violated a protection order after his arrest in Washington. In 2012, he had been arrested for "battery, mob action and robbery," HuffPost reported, having allegedly struck a woman "3-4 times in the head." Other men who attended the riot have records marked by similar charges. Jacob Lewis, for example, had a restraining order for domestic violence taken out against him in California, according to HuffPost. Samuel Pinho Camargo had in 2016 "intentionally caused bodily harm" to his sister. Dominic Pezzola is a member of the Proud Boys, HuffPost reported. Police removed a shotgun from his home in 2005 after a call concerning a domestic dispute. Andrew Ryan Bennett also wore a Proud Boys hat entering the Capitol building, according to HuffPost. He received an 18-month prison sentence after attacking a woman at a tattoo parlor in 2003. Edward Hemenway served five years in prison on charges related to rape, sexual battery, and criminal confinement, according to HuffPost. He handcuffed his wife in 2004 and put duct-tape over her mouth. And Donovan Ray Crowl had been arrested in 2005 for domestic violence charges that have since been dropped, HuffPost reported.

  21. Volkswagen AG on Thursday said it will use Microsoft's cloud computing services to help it streamline its software development efforts for self-driving cars. Volkswagen, which owns brands such as Audi and Porsche, is working on both self-driving cars for the future and driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control in current vehicles. But the company's brand had been developing those features independently. Last year, Volkswagen consolidated some of those development efforts into a subsidiary called Car.Software to better coordinate among the makers, with each company handling its own work around the look and feel of the software while collaborating on core safety functions such as detecting obstacles. Nvidia, Volkswagen to Cooperate on Artificial Intelligence But the various companies inside the group were still using different systems to develop that software, and the deal announced Thursday will put them on a common cloud provider, Dirk Hilgenberg, chief executive of Car.Software, told Reuters in an interview. Newsbeep The Microsoft deal will also make deploying software updates to add new features to cars - a practice that helped set Tesla apart from many rivals early on - much easier. Volkswagen in 2018 inked a deal with Microsoft to connect its cars to Microsoft's Azure cloud computing service. The Thursday deal means that the software updates will be developed on the same cloud that will then beam those updates down to the cars. Volkswagen Plans to Challenge Google With Own Autonomous Car Software "Over-the-air updates are paramount," Hilgenberg said. "This functionality needs to be there. If you can't do it, you will lose ground." In practical terms, the deal means that cars that initially hit the road with a few driver-assistance features today could add new capabilities over time that bring them closer to autonomous driving, said Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of cloud and artificial intelligence at Microsoft. "For our phones 15 or 20 years ago, when you bought it, it pretty much never changed. Now, we expected every week or every couple of days that, silently, there's new features," Guthrie told Reuters in an interview. "That ability to start to programme the vehicle in richer and richer ways, and in a safe way, transforms how the experience works."
  22. The Division 2 is getting some new content by the end of this year. In a new statement from Ubisoft, the development team put out a letter to the fans from the game’s official account. Massive Entertainment has had its moments of uncertainty when it comes to the latest installment in the franchise. But, the fans have been playing the entire time despite crashes and other gameplay inconveniences. In a moment that shows how different the gaming marketplace has become, The Division 2 will get a few more missions to help those players eke out just a bit more playtime. Currently, the game is in a season called “End of Watch” that stretches all the way back to events from the first game. So, that information coupled with the fact that it’s been reported that Massive is taking on Lucasfilm’s Star Wars universe led people to believe this was the end of the road. Will it be a lengthy expansion, probably not. But, getting more is always something to celebrate, especially when it didn’t seem like it was coming at all. Today, we are thrilled to confirm that were will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year! pic.twitter.com/LRlTwVZEtp — The Division 2 (@TheDivisionGame) February 12, 2021 The statement begins, “A message from The Division 2 team. We see the ongoing conversation in our community and we understand that you are eager for news of what lies ahead for The Division 2. Today, we are thrilled to confirm that there will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year! It is your continuous passion and support which enables us to continue to build upon The Division 2 experience, and we cannot thank you enough for that.” “Some of you noticed that Title Update 12 was originally meant to be the last major Title Update for The Division 2, but thanks to your continued support, we are now in the early stages of development for fresh content to release later in 2021. While it is still too early to go into more details today, you won’t have to wait too long, as we will share more as soon as we can. In the meantime, we again want to send a heartfelt thank you for your continued support throughout the Division 2 post-launch We cannot stress enough how much this means to us.” “We also want to take this opportunity to update you on a few issues currently present in the game. An investigation into the crashes affecting many of you is ongoing with the highest priority, and we are also close to finding a fix for the missing volumetric fog and screen space reflections on PlayStation 5. We will let you know when we have a date for both fixes. Until next time! / The Division 2 Development Team,” they conclude.
