Apple’s “Peek Performance” launch event is just a day away and noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is here with another prediction for what could be unveiled on stage. According to the long-time insider, Apple will introduce a more powerful Mac Mini which is rumored to arrive with Apple’s M1 Pro or M2 processor. The other new bit is a more affordable 27-inch Apple display without mini-LED. Apple currently offers a single monitor in its lineup - the 32-inch Pro Display XDR which starts at a cool $4,999. Having a more affordable option will definitely be a welcome development. Kuo is skeptical of a new 13-inch MacBook Pro being launched at the event and also believes that Apple will leave out the rumored next-gen Mac Pro and iMac Pro for 2023 The rest of the expected announcements at the event include a new iPhone SE model with 5G connectivity, an Apple A15 chipset and the same basic design as its predecessor from 2020. We’re also expecting a new iPad Air with updated hardware. Apple’s event starts at 10:00 AM PST on Tuesday, March 8.

The Mobile World Congress came and went and makers of all shapes and sizes took advantage of the world's attention to showcase new stuff. Let's take a look at the biggest stories from the week. Xiaomi's Poco announced the 4G variant of the M4 Pro and the brand-new X4 Pro 5G. The biggest selling point of both is the AMOLED display - 6.67-inch 120Hz on the X4 Pro 5G, and 6.43-inch 90Hz on the M4 Pro. The X4 Pro 5G has a 108MP main camera, while the M4 Pro a 64MP. Both devices have 5,000mAh batteries, but the X4 Pro 5G charges at 67W, while the M4 Pro at 33W. The Poco X4 Pro 5G is on sale, starting at €300 with a special early bird discount of €30 for the first sale. The M4 Pro starts at €220 for the 6/128 GB model. However, there is a €20 early bird discount. Nokia announced two new midrangers. The C21 and C21 Plus both have metal frames, 6.5-inch 720x1600px displays, and toughened glass to protect from shattering. Interestingly, there are two versions of the C21 Plus. One has a 5,050 mAh battery for three-day battery life, the other is lighter with a 4,000 mAh battery capacity for two-day battery life. In either case, you get a 10W charger (that works over microUSB) in the retail package. We also saw the Nokia PureBook Pro laptop in 17.3-inch and 15.6-inch sizes. Nokia actually licenced its name to French startup OFF Global to produce the laptop, so it's not exactly designed and made in Finland. The device sports an aluminum top cover, rounded edges, big trackpad and backlit keyboard. Of course, both options come with Full HD IPS panels with up to 250 nits of brightness, but offer just one CPU option - Intel Core i3-1220P paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD. The 17-inch flavor offers a 63Wh battery, while the smaller iteration carries a 57Wh pack. The former weighs a whopping 2.5kg, while the latter weighs in at more reasonable 1.7kg. The Nokia PureBook Pro 15.6" will retail from € 699, whereas the Nokia PureBook Pro 17.3" will start at 799€. The Realme GT2 and GT2 Pro launched globally. The pair is on sale from March 15 with the GT2 starting at £399/€449 early bird price for the 8/128GB, and the GT2 Pro starting at £599 and €649, early-bird price, for the 8/128GB. Honor announced the Magic4 series with the Magic4 and Magic4 Pro both wielding Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets and 6.81-inch 1224x2664px LTPO AMOLED displays of 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones have a 50MP 1/1.56-inch main cameras and 50MP ultrawides, but the Pro has a 3.5x 90mm periscope with a big 1/2.0-inch sensor, while the Magic4 has a conventional 8MP 5x periscope with a smaller sensor. Magic4 Pro comes in Cyan, Gold, White and Black colors comes with glass backs while the Orange color has a vegan leather back. The baseline 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version will retail for €1,099. Honor Magic4 starts at €899. Honor Magic4 series will be available starting from Q2 2022. Apple sneaked in an announcement for its March 8 event, at which it will likely announce new Macs with Apple Silicon, a new iPad Air, and the new iPhone SE. Finally, Xiaomi's 12 series will reportedly become global on March 15. You can see the full list of big in 15 march.

We love the build and design of Grado’s headphones. They sound warm, lively and full of bass, while looking both retro and minimal. They’ve recently updated their award-winning range and our pick of the lot is the SR80x. They’re open-backed, which means the audio will bleed out a little, so you may not want to take these on the train. But it does make them lighter and more comfortable to use at home for long periods and it’ll make the audio sound roomier than a closed-back pair. The new headphones have upgraded drivers too, improving the bass and mid-range. Certainly one of the best sets we’ve worn under the £150 mark. £129.95 Buy now from Amazon ($ 125.00), Ebay ($ 155.44)

After releasing the new Chromium-based version of Edge last year, Microsoft has continued to update its browser with new features in an attempt to get even more users to make the switch from Google Chrome. For those that want to be the first ones to gain access to all of the new features coming to its browser, the software giant offers three different Microsoft Edge Insider Channels including the Beta Channel, Dev Channel and Canary Channel. While the Beta Channel is updated every four weeks, the Dev Channel is updated weekly and the Canary Channel is updated daily. Microsoft has now released its new v96.0.1047.2 build for Edge Dev channel users which packs in a number of new features including support for adding Citations to items in a Collection, support for the Super Duper Secure Mode flag on Linux and more. New Dev Channel update Although the latest Edge Dev channel update should download and install automatically, if it doesn't, users can head to Edge's settings menu to manually update the browser. This new update contains a whole load of useful tools and you can see the full list of new features and fixes by checking out this blog post from Microsoft. First off, the company has added support for showing the Downloads menu and button in popup windows that don't have a standard address bar or toolbar. As we mentioned above, Microsoft is also testing out support for adding Citations to items in a Collection which can be quite useful when using Edge for research. Security-conscious users running Edge on Linux will also appreciate the addition of the Super Duper Secure Mode flag which trades speed for improved security. Microsoft has included a number of fixes for common issues such as the browser not letting users sign in, proxy settings be ignored, the new tap page being rendered incorrectly, tabs closing unexpectedly and more. As this new update is for the Dev Chanel version of Edge, users on the regular channel can expect to see these features and fixes roll out with the next major release of Microsoft's browser soon. By now, there isn't anything that we don't know about Intel's forthcoming Core i9-12900KS processor. The special edition Alder Lake chip poses to take the crown from the Core i9-12900K as the best CPU for high-performance gaming. The Core i9-12900KS has a 3.4 GHz base clock and a 5.2 GHz all-core boost clock on the P-cores. Therefore, it has a 200 MHz higher base and boost clocks compared to the regular Core i9-12900K. However, the slight uplift in clock speeds hints that the Core i9-12900KS probably won't wipe the floor with the Core i9-12900K. The Core i9-12900KS (via Benchleaks) popped up in Geekbench 5's database today three times, giving us a small preview of the type of performance that we can expect from it. Nonetheless, we recommend the usual dosage of salt regarding leaked benchmarks. The Core i9-12900KS put up single-core scores between 2,080 and 2,101 points and multi-core scores ranging from 18,962 to 19,010. The scores were within the margin of error since it's the same system that submitted the three entries. The testing was done on an Asus ROG Strix Z690-F Gaming WiFi motherboard and 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory on a 64-bit version of Windows 11 Home. Scores for the Core i9-12900K and Ryzen 9 5950X are from Geekbench 5's processor database. In single-core performance, the Core i9-12900KS was up to 4.1% faster than the Core i9-12900K. The Alder Lake chip also outperformed the Ryzen 9 5950X by 23.4% When it came to multi-core performance, the Core i9-12900KS beat the Core i9-12900K by 11%. The margin was slightly more significant with the Ryzen 9 5950X, where the Core i9-12900KS surpassed the Zen 3 flagship chip by 14.7%. The Core i9-12900K was very close to catching up to AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 3960X processor. The 24-core monster (19,878 points) outshined the Core i9-12900KS by 4.6% in multi-core performance. If an early retailer listing is accurate, the Core i9-12900KS could cost upwards of $800. Bottom Line Telecommunications had posted the retail version of the Core i9-12900KS (BX8071512900KSP5) for $791.74. The store currently sells the Core i9-12900K up for $628.05, whereas the Core i9-12900KS represented a 26% increase in pricing. It's a significant premium for just an 11% jump multi-core performance in Geekbench 5. It remains to be seen whether the Core i9-12900KS can provide the same level of performance in other workloads.

After launching Slack Connect last year, Slack has announced that it will expand the service to allow users to securely connect with anyone outside of their organization with Slack Connect direct messages (DMs). Slack Connect is designed to replace email outside of one's company as the service allows users to work with external organizations right from within its online collaboration software. In fact, up to 20 organizations can securely work together in the same space using the service and each side is able to maintain control over their organization's data. Now though, Slack is expanding Slack Connect through direct messages which are available now but the company also plans to allow users to link together multiple organizations to create a private business network later this year. To get started using Slack Connect DMs, users simply need to send an invite to anyone else using Slack and once they accept, they'll be able to communicate with one another using direct messages. The company also plans to offer Slack Connect DM invitations to all teams soon, including those on free plans. Slack Connect Later this year businesses will able to use Slack Connect to securely connect to external organizations to make it easier for them to work with trusted partners without having to deal with long email threads. Admins and security professionals will be happy to know that all of Slack's enterprise-grade security features and compliance standards extend to both channels and direct messages with external partners. However, the company also plans to further extend the service's security capabilities before Slack Connect's next feature goes live. Over the past year, there has been a huge increase in the number of phishing scams and cyberattacks as cybercriminals attempt to capitalize on the massive number of employees working from home. While Slack Connect already restricts certain file types from being sent in channels and DMs, Slack will soon add malware protection and link scanning to the service to further prevent phishing scams and spam. Finally, the company plans to allow two or more organizations to create their own private business network using Slack Connect. These networks will allow for unified directories, direct messaging, channel discovery and shared applications when they roll out this winter.

BLUETTI, a U.S.-Chinese renewable energy start-up, once again, created another miracle after their huge crowdfunding success with the cutting edge AC200 last year. Their latest 5.1kWh home power station - the EP500/Pro - has pulled over $1 million in the first hour at kickstarter.com and is now rapidly approaching the $3M milestone in less than 3 weeks. It's over two weeks since BLUETTI launched their latest flagship series - the EP500/Pro on Kickstarter, and raised staggering 1 million US dollars in the first hour. Ever since the pre-launch, all the details BLUETTI released are about the EP500. The outside world only knows the key specs of the 3000watt Pro, and no one knows the details of this mysterious “Pro” version. Buy the Bluetti EP500/PRO and other accessories by clicking herehttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bluetti/bluetti-ep500-and-ep500pro-the-new-era-of-home-backup-power The Bluetti EP500 Pro could be the most powerful mobile power station ever. It features a ground breaking NEMA L14-30 30A receptacle that provides up to 3000 watts of continuous power at 120V which covers almost all your needs when the grid is down. For your latest digital gadgets, the EP500 Pro provides two 100W USB type-c ports that comply with PD3.0 protocol. You can easily power your whole family’s phones, laptops without those bulky adapters. Another big feature of the EP500/Pro is the long list of accessories that accompany them. With the launch of the Pro, owing to some of the updates to the power station’s design both inside and outside, the accessories are seeing some great changes as well: New EP500/Pro Accessories There are three new accessories hitting Kickstarter alongside the EP500/Pro. Ever since BLUETTI launched their 2000 watt AC200 last year, people have been wanting to integrate this power beast to their home circuits. BLUETTI has finally released their first integration kit for their flagship models (which totally makes sense since the EP500/Pro is positioned as a home power storage center). This would be a life saver during those rolling power outages keeping your lights on, your hot water running and space heater warm without any interruption. Launched:The BLUETTI team has promised to start shipping EP500 in June and EP500 Pro in August. To offer an incentive to order now with the customer's long wait, BLUETTI also will provide a 3-year warranty and lifetime tech support for EP500 & EP500 Pro for their crowdfunding backers. You can also opt for the extended additional one-year warranty for $399 or $699 for two, which makes the total warranty period to 5 years top.

Indian handset maker Lava today announced a new smartphone under its new 'X' series, dubbed Lava X2. The Lava X2 is an online-exclusive smartphone for the Indian market in the sub-INR10,000 ($130/€120) segment that will be sold through The Lava X2 is built around a 6.5" HD+ IPS screen and has a Helio octa-core processor under the hood paired with 2GB RAM. Lava hasn't mentioned the name of the Helio chip anywhere on its official website or in the press materials we received, and the company is yet to respond to our query regarding the same. But we'll update the story once we have more information about the SoC. That said, the Lava X2 runs Android 11 (Go Edition) and has 32GB of storage onboard. The smartphone features a 5MP selfie camera and its rear panel sports a dual camera system headlined by an 8MP primary unit. The purpose of the second camera is unknown, but it could be one of those not-so-useful 2MP depth sensors. The Lava X2 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB-C. It's fueled by a 5,000 mAh battery, but there's no fast charging here since Lava says the cell takes 3.45 hours for a full charge with the bundled adapter. However, the company says you can get 38 hours of talk time on 4G networks, 480 hours of standby with mobile data turned on, or 10.5 hours of YouTube playback at full display brightness on a single charge. The Lava X2 comes in Blue and Cyan colors and can be pre-booked on Amazon.in for INR6,599 ($85/€80) till March 11. Once the open sales begin on March 12, it will be priced at INR6,999 ($90/€85). https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09S3X9VXX?tag=gsmcom05-21

Details are thin on the ground about virtual reality on next-gen consoles, but Sony has revealed what its motion controllers (which will translate your hand movements into the virtual world) will look like. Of particular interest is the finger-touch detection that senses where your digits are placed on the remote. This will enable you to pick up and mani[CENSORED]te objects in the virtual world in natural way. £TBC, blog.playstation.com https://blog.playstation.com/2021/03/18/next-gen-vr-on-ps5-the-new-controller.

Using Microsoft Edge across different Windows 10 devices might have just got an added advantage over the likes of Google Chrome. A new feature should soon allow Microsoft Edge users to transfer links that they have copied or shared from a browser on one Windows 10 devices onto another. The new Shared Links feature looks to help those users who may need to send and receive a large number of links every day, but have trouble keeping track of exactly which link was which, and when they'll be needed again. "The current processes that users have to re-find their links can be difficult and time-consuming. Users spend time and energy trying to find links that have been shared with them and sometimes shared by themselves, looking in various apps, checking their email and chat messages, and sometimes by asking someone else to find or re-send the link to them." The company notes that the goal of the new feature is to, "Help users save time and effort by making links shared with/by user searchable in the history page of Edge Browser." Microsoft does already offer the Windows Cloud Clipboard tool to provide a similar service, but many users remain unaware of the functionality, so the company wants to build it directly into Edge. Now, users will be able to view and access the links they've shared, or had shared with them, on the History page in Microsoft Edge 0 - which will now get a new "Shared Links" tab. As it is part of the History section, users can go through their links using the search function, then quickly copy the links they need.

[Hardware] TSMC Rumored to Increase Capacity of Arizona Fab When Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. outlined plans to build a fab in the U.S., it set a rather modest production capacity goal of around 20,000 wafer starts per month (WSPM). Nowadays chipmakers tend to build larger fabs in a bid to minimize their costs per wafer. But according to a new unconfirmed report via UDN the company might be planning several phases of expansions for its Arizona plant. UDN this week reported that internal rumors at TSMC intends to build not one, but 'six fabs in the Arizona plant area' in a bid to expand the site to the so-called 'MegaFab-class' facility. TSMC naturally does not comment on unannounced plans. Furthermore, it is uncommon for chip producers to share strategic plans outside of top management. This does not mean that the report is completely baseless. Based on TSMC's classification, a MegaFab has capacity of around 25,000 WSPM, so its planned facility in Arizona can already be called a MegaFab, which is why its 'expansion' to this production capacity is not something material. Furthermore, it does not need to build six additional 'fabs' to get to 25,000 WSPM. On the other hand, expanding the Arizona fab beyond 25,000 WSPM might be a logical thing to do. TSMC currently operates six GigaFabs — production facilities with a capacity of 100,000 or more WSPM — in Taiwan that process 300-mm wafers. Such facilities cost around $20 billion, they have to work at a very high utilization rate to be profitable, and they are meant to minimize costs per wafer. Such giant production facilities are usually built in multiple phases. Sometimes, new modules are added to such huge semiconductor production facilities. TSMC has multiple big customers in the U.S., including Apple, AMD, Qualcomm, and Nvidia. To serve them, 20,000 WSPM may not be enough. Therefore, unless TSMC only wants to serve select government and military contracts in the U.S. it will have to expand the Arizona fab over time. TSMC's current six GigaFabs are situated in different locations in Taiwan, so it is highly unlikely that the company has any intentions to build six more GigaFabs in the U.S. any time soon. On the other hand, it can expand its Arizona fab in multiple phases as demand for its manufacturing services increases. Yet, at this point this is largely speculation. TSMC (and other foundries) only commit to expansions when it sees demand from customers. Since the Arizona facility is only expected to start operations in 2024, it might be too early to discuss plans to expand this fab.

Realme already introduced the 9i as well as two Pro models from the series, but it is yet to reveal the vanilla Realme 9. The handset is said to arrive in two variants - 4G and 5G, just like last year's Realme 8 and 8 5G. And according to an industry source close to 91mobiles, the 5G option will offer a smooth 144Hz display. The publication obtained a marketing image showing the device's display running at 144Hz and supporting seven HRR steps depending on the scenario. Of course, since this is a budget handset, the panel will be IPS LCD, not OLED. Previous rumors suggest that the Dimensity 810 5G SoC will be running the show paired with at least 6GB/128GB memory and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The March 8 event, titled 'Peek Performance.', is expected to showcase a new iPhone SE model. This new model is rumored to have the same design as the current model but with faster processor, improved cameras, and 5G. Also expected to be announced at this event is an updated iPad Air. The current generation model was launched back in 2020. The new model should feature a faster processor and 5G. It is rumored to ship with iOS 15.4, which will allow unlocking the device with a face mask. https://youtu.be/CUwg_JoNHpo While some rumors also suggest new Mac models to be announced with updated Apple Silicon, there is not enough information available at the present to corroborate that. Apple could very well give us a peek at the unannounced Apple Silicon Mac Pro (which would explain the title), with a proper launch some time later this year. It would be on par with the company's previous announcement of transitioning all of its computers to its own silicon by the end of 2022 but we will just have to wait and see if that happens.

Most gaming laptops wouldn’t look out of place in a steampunk rave with all the extra wings, gubbins and lights that get bolted on to the design, which is why this understated powerhouse from Gigabyte appeals to us. It’s a punchy computer in a relatively slim, sleek case. The Aorus is powered by the latest Nvidia SUPER graphics card, which is developed to handle ray tracing, the complex lighting graphics used in the latest games. The display can run at a blistering 300Hz, which means games will look incredibly smooth on-screen. If you’re one of the gaming pros this laptop was designed for, that rapid refresh rate means that there’s no discernible delay between your input and what happens on screen. And of course, the laptop comes with a true mechanical keyboard to provide satisfying clicks with each key press. If you need help justifying the outlay, we’re told all this machinery means it’s pretty adept if you need to do a bit of video or audio editing. £1,899 Buy now from Amazone
