Apple's hardware subscription service has been in the works for a while and was made public after it surfaced in a Bloomberg article in March this year. A few months later, the same source now claims that Apple's hardware subscription service is currently undergoing testing and that it will be announced by the end of this year, or early next year. The subscription service will essentially let buyers subscribe to Apple hardware instead of purchasing them outright. Buyers will have to pay a monthly fee and can upgrade to a newer iPhone model when available. In his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman explains that the service once live is expected to function very differently compared to Apple's current iPhone Upgrade Programme, which basically lets buyers split the cost of an iPhone over 12-24 months. The new hardware subscription service will be quite different as subscribers to the same would have to pay a monthly fee (like subscribing to Apple Music) to use the device and can later upgrade to a new one; once a new model is available.According to Gurman, Apple is still testing out its new hardware subscription service and working out how it will integrate its Apple One bundles with it. The source also claimed that its new service will launch either later this year, or next year and that Apple did not announce the service at its iPhone 14 launch, to “reduce launch day complexity”, as it would be an entirely different way to purchase an iPhone. What remains to be seen is how many Apple's devices will be a part of this subscription service and whether this would extend to Apple's Mac ecosystem as well. Also critical is the pricing and the fine print that would divide the line between owning the devices or purely using them. Gurman in his newsletter also stated that subscription fee would also depend on “which device a user chooses.”As per an earlier report, this new hardware subscription service is supposed to benefit Apple well as it is expected to rake in more money than the average selling price of an iPhone. This should work out well for Apple as it releases new versions of important devices year after year. The consumer benefits with a new and updated device at a lower cost and does not have to bear the entire cost of buying a new device in one go. https://gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/apple-iphone-subscription-service-launch-coming-soon-report-3337402

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 'Expected' Specifications The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will use 128 SMs of the 144 SMs for a total of 16,384 CUDA cores. The GPU will come packed with 96 MB of L2 cache and a total of 384 ROPs which is simply insane. The clock speeds are not confirmed yet but considering that the TSMC 4N process is being used, we are expecting clocks between the 2.0-3.0 GHz range. As for memory specs, the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to rock 24 GB GDDR6X capacities that will be clocked at 21 Gbps speeds across a 384-bit bus interface. This will provide up to 1 TB/s of bandwidth. This is the same bandwidth as the existing RTX 3090 Ti graphics card and as far as the power consumption is concerned, the TBP is said to be rated at 450W which means that TGP may end up lower than that. The card will be powered by a single 16-pin connector which delivers up to 600W of power. It is likely that we may get 500W+ custom designs as we saw with the RTX 3090 Ti. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards including the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 graphics cards will be amongst the first graphics cards besides the RTX 4090 to launch to gamers. The RTX 4090 is so far expected to launch on October 22 but an unveiling is expected at NVIDIA's GTC keynote later this month. https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-custom-model-graphics-cards-from-gigabyte-leak-out/

A remake of the original Assassin’s Creed was rumored to be coming together with the next entry in the series, but it seems like Ubisoft is not working on such a title. Speaking with Eurogamer following Ubisoft Forward 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage art director Jean-Luc Sala confirmed that the European publisher is not working on a remake of the first entry in the series. He is fully dedicated to Mirage, and no one else at Ubisoft is working on a remake: "Yeah that's not what we're doing. I'm fully dedicated to Mirage and I can tell you we are not remaking AC1." An Assassin’s Creed remake not being in the works is definitely surprising, considering all the other rumored information on the next entry in the series was eventually confirmed. The remake, which was supposed to reuse assets from AC Mirage, was rumored to be part of a Season Pass that was not announced during Ubisoft Forward 2022. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is only one of the many new entries in the series currently in development. The game starring Basim will be followed by Project Red, which will be set in Feudal Japan, and Project Hexe, which will be set during the Holy Roman Empire era. All future entries in the series will be joined together by the Assassin’s Creed Infinity hub, a sort of personal Animus, as described by Ubisoft during its Ubisoft Forward 2022 event. Announced last year, INFINITY is a centralized hub for Assassin's Creed games, and while the team is still investigating how it will incorporate Assassin's Creed's past, it's clear that the future will live on in this new platform. RED and HEXE will be the first mainline games incorporated into INFINITY, but they won't be the only things to look forward to. As Côté teased during the showcase, Assassin's Creed multiplayer is coming back. Codenamed INVICTUS, the new take on multiplayer will be incorporated as a standalone experience within INFINITY. https://wccftech.com/an-assassins-creed-1-remake-is-not-in-the-works-art-director-confirms/

NVIDIA's Hopper H100 GPU has made its debut on the MLPerf AI Benchmark list and shattered all previous records achieved by Ampere A100. While Hopper Tensor Core GPUs pave the way for the next big AI revolution, the Ampere A100 GPUs continue to showcase leadership performance in the mainstream AI application suite while Jetson AGX Orin leads in edge computing. NVIDIA's AI Revolution Continues With Hopper H100 Tensor Core GPU Shattering All MLPerf Benchmarks, Delivering Up To 4.5x Performance Uplift Versus Last-Gen Press Release: In their debut on the MLPerf industry-standard AI benchmarks, NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs set world records in inference on all workloads, delivering up to 4.5x more performance than previous-generation GPUs. The results demonstrate that Hopper is the premium choice for users who demand utmost performance on advanced AI models. Additionally, NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs and the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin module for AI-powered robotics continued to deliver overall leadership inference performance across all MLPerf tests: image and speech recognition, natural language processing, and recommender systems. The H100, aka Hopper, raised the bar in per-accelerator performance across all six neural networks in the round. It demonstrated leadership in both throughput and speed in a separate server and offline scenarios. The NVIDIA Hopper architecture delivered up to 4.5x more performance than NVIDIA Ampere architecture GPUs, which continue to provide overall leadership in MLPerf results. Thanks in part to its Transformer Engine, Hopper excelled on the po[CENSORED]r BERT model for natural language processing. It’s among the largest and most performance-hungry of the MLPerf AI models. These inference benchmarks mark the first public demonstration of H100 GPUs, which will be available later this year. The H100 GPUs will participate in future MLPerf rounds for training. A100 GPUs Show Leadership NVIDIA A100 GPUs, available today from major cloud service providers and systems manufacturers, continued to show overall leadership in mainstream performance on AI inference in the latest tests. A100 GPUs won more tests than any submission in data center and edge computing categories and scenarios. In June, the A100 also delivered overall leadership in MLPerf training benchmarks, demonstrating its abilities across the AI workflow. Since their July 2020 debut on MLPerf, A100 GPUs have advanced their performance by 6x, thanks to continuous improvements in NVIDIA AI software. NVIDIA AI is the only platform to run all MLPerf inference workloads and scenarios in data center and edge computing. Users Need Versatile Performance The ability of NVIDIA GPUs to deliver leadership performance on all major AI models makes users the real winners. Their real-world applications typically employ many neural networks of different kinds. For example, an AI application may need to understand a user’s spoken request, classify an image, make a recommendation, and then deliver a response as a spoken message in a human-sounding voice. Each step requires a different type of AI model. The MLPerf benchmarks cover these and other po[CENSORED]r AI workloads and scenarios — computer vision, natural language processing, recommendation systems, speech recognition, and more. The tests ensure users will get performance that’s dependable and flexible to deploy. Users rely on MLPerf results to make informed buying decisions because the tests are transparent and objective. The benchmarks enjoy backing from a broad group that includes Amazon, Arm, Baidu, Google, Harvard, Intel, Meta, Microsoft, Stanford, and the University of Toronto. Orin Leads at the Edge In edge computing, NVIDIA Orin ran every MLPerf benchmark, winning more tests than any other low-power system-on-a-chip. And it showed up to a 50% gain in energy efficiency compared to its debut on MLPerf in April. In the previous round, Orin ran up to 5x faster than the prior-generation Jetson AGX Xavier module, while delivering an average of 2x better energy efficiency. Orin integrates into a single chip an NVIDIA Ampere architecture GPU and a cluster of powerful Arm CPU cores. It’s available today in the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin developer kit and production modules for robotics and autonomous systems and supports the full NVIDIA AI software stack, including platforms for autonomous vehicles (NVIDIA Hyperion), medical devices (Clara Holoscan), and robotics (Isaac). https://wccftech.com/nvidia-clean-sweeps-mlperf-ai-benchmarks-with-hopper-h100-gpu-up-to-4-5x-performance-uplift-over-ampere-a100/

Focus Home Entertainment announced a slight delay for Atlas Fallen, the action RPG unveiled at Gamescom 2022 to be in development at German studio Deck13 Interactive. In the same press release where it confirmed the Atomic Heart publishing deal signed with Mundfish, the publisher stated: The group also plans to launch Atlas Fallen, a game developed by Deck 13 Interactive, one of the Group's studios, in the spring of 2023 to give the teams at Deck13 Interactive time to maximize the potential of this new franchise. Announced at Gamescom at the end of August during the Opening Night Live conference, it has already received an extremely positive reception from the press and gamers around the world. In a previous investor report, Focus Home Entertainment had pegged Atlas Fallen for Q1 2023, which means the game got delayed by about a quarter. Even so, we're eagerly anticipating more information on Atlas Fallen, which will be more akin to games like God of War than to the Soulslike subgenre. Chris Wray checked it out at a recent behind closed doors presentation in Cologne and came away rather impressed. I haven't had hands-on with the game. What I have seen, however, is fascinating. There appears to be far more than what the trailer lets on. In a world in ruin, you find a magical gauntlet that allows you to control the sands of Atlas, and you're going to use this to help you defeat the sun god ruling the world. [...] Fighting is where Atlas Fallen appears to stand out. Inspired by such as Monster Hunter, these can be giant monsters with multiple sections to take out. The example in the presentation was a massive crab monster with numerous areas to take out, destroying it in stages before you can finally finish it. The exciting thing is that it never looks like it loses the speed and fluidity that Deck 13 appear to be aiming for within the game. Atlas Fallen will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. https://wccftech.com/atlas-fallen-now-targeting-spring-2023-launch-after-slight-delay/

Intel's Arc 7 series graphics cards which include the Arc A770 & the Arc A750 GPUs are closing in on their launch & will be aiming for the gaming sweet spot. Intel Promises Arc 7 Series Launch Very Soon, Will Include Arc A770 16 GB, Arc A770 8 GB & Arc A750 8 GB GPUs New interviews with Digital Foundry and PCGamesHardware have revealed information that was previously not known or only known through leaks. Once again, Intel's Graphics market team including Tom Peterson and Ryan Shrout, pointed out several details such as the Arc 7 launch, the SKUs, and the performance/pricing segment, just to name a few. Intel Arc A770 Gets Two SKUs, A 16 GB & A 8 GB Variant Starting with the details, Intel first and foremost confirmed that the Arc A770 will be launching in both 16 GB and 8 GB memory flavors. The Arc A770 is the flagship offering & was revealed to get two memory flavors a while back in leaks. This can now be confirmed and we can expect slightly different prices between the two models. The Limited Edition model will only come in 16 GB GPU flavors while AIBs will have the choice open to them to offer either 16 GB or 8 GB models. Intel's Arc A750 will only be available in 8 GB flavors in both Limited Edition and AIC variants. Blue Team Targets NVIDIA 3060 & AMD 6600 Series With Arc 7 GPUs As for performance and price positioning, Intel clarified that the Arc A770, their high-end graphics card, is going to be placed between the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. This is also comparable to AMD's Radeon RX 6600 series cards so it looks like we are mostly looking at the $300-$400 US price segment for the fastest Alchemist graphics card. Intel also states that they can not control the cost at which these GPUs are manufactured but they can control the prices at which these GPUs will be offered to the end consumers. Pricing Can Be Adjusted, Arc Feature Suite Is Very Compelling It will be a tough market for Intel to compete within right now considering the cost of NVIDIA & AMD GPUs is falling every day now, giving consumers more incentive to buy a green or red team graphics card at lower prices rather than wait for something that Intel has to offer but Intel isn't stopping here, they also state that they have a good suite of features at hand such as XeSS, AV1, better ray tracing capabilities that rival NVIDIA's RTX. ReBar Required, Limited Launch & Software Optimizations However, once again, Intel seems to be hinting that the Intel Arc 7 GPUs will be limited in quantity, and Germany is considered one of the key countries where the products are going to be available at launch. The cards will have both custom and reference (Limited Edition) designs available to the public at launch but there's no guarantee that they will be able to fulfill the demand. Intel also talks about how their GPUs are very much dependent on Resizable-Bar and that disabling it means that you are going to lose around 40% of the total performance. That means you have to make sure that your PC supports Re-BAR before investing in a new Arc graphics card. Regarding the whole driver situation, Intel says that while they are working closely with devs and engineers to fine-tune their drivers and performance in various games, APIs, and apps, the overall performance that you will get at launch will be close to final performance and that any uplifts you see later on will be hardly noticeable. They will be there but not as significant as you'd have hoped for. Intel Arc 7 'High-Performance' Gaming Graphics Card Lineup The Arc Alchemist lineup will include the flagship Arc A770 which will feature the full Arc ACM-G10 GPU with 32 Xe-Cores and a 256-bit bus interface. The Intel Arc A770 will feature both 16 GB and 8 GB flavors across a 256-bit bus interface and a TDP of 225W. It is expected to be positioned in the same performance category as the RTX 3060 Ti but will offer slightly better performance and even compete with the RTX 3070 in certain titles. The graphics card is expected to cost between the $349 to $399 US range. The second part is the Intel Arc A750 which will also be equipped with an ACM-G10 GPU but house 24 Xe Cores (3072 ALUs), 24 ray tracing units 8 GB GDDR6 memory running across a 256 -bit bus interface, and a TDP target of 225W, same as the Arc A770. This GPU will aim for the GeForce RTX 3060 series mobility options. While Intel hasn't shown the official performance of the flagship part yet, they have shown the Arc A750 graphics card to be up to 17% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 in modern titles and will be doing so in the $279-$329 US range. Both the Intel Arc A770 and Arc A750 graphics cards will come in Limited Edition flavors and also custom designs which will be available globally. The Arc A770 will be as high as the Alchemist line will go and if you were looking for more enthusiast variants, then you'd have to wait for the next-generation 'Battlemage' lineup. https://wccftech.com/intel-arc-a770-16-gb-8-gb-arc-a750-launching-soon-tackle-nvidia-3060-amd-6600-series-gpus-sweet-spot-pricing-performance/

The last couple days have been a bit of a bonanza for pent-up Silent Hill fans, as first images of the long-rumored Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team seemingly leaked, although according to reliable survival horror insider Dusk Golem, the images were from an early internal pitch demo, so shouldn’t be judged too harshly. That said, some slightly higher-quality versions of these screens have since emerged, which you can check out for yourself, below. Ah, but that’s not the only Silent Hill leak making the rounds! Rumors have circulated that several Silent Hill projects are in the works, including a full sequel and a new playable demo similar to Hideo Kojima’s infamous P.T. It seems some new concept art for the latter have made their way online, seemingly showing a book or diary-theme, with the main character’s skin peeling away to reveal pages or notes. There also look to be enemies made up of bunches of the same. These latest leaks seem to indicate the Silent Hill Sakura demo will be a PS5 exclusive (like the Silent Hill 2 remake is rumored to be) and was originally earmarked for a 2021 release. We still don’t know who’s developing this project. Dusk Golem once again chimed in on a ResetEra thread discussing the new Sakura pics, saying he’s heard a larger Sakura leak is ciriculating in private channels and may include full story spoilers. Considering Sakura is supposed to be a small PT-esque free demo, I’m not sure story spoilers are that big a deal, but be cautious if more things start leaking! Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Konami as of yet. It’s pretty clear these materials are real, but take any speculation based on them with a grain of salt. As for when we might learn more, Konami will be revealing something at Tokyo Game Show, which kicks off on September 15, although Video Games Chronicle says this will likely be a smaller project, rather than something related to the publisher’s bigger franchises like Silent Hill and Castlevania. What do you think about all these Silent Hill rumors? Excited for what’s coming? Or are you starting to get an uneasy feeling? https://wccftech.com/silent-hill-sakura-demo-concept-art-silent-hill-2-clearer-images/

Apple iPhone 15 Pro models will be the most powerful handset on the market in 2023, a recent report claims. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, commonly referred to as TSMC, will soon reportedly enter mass production with their rumoured 3nm SoC. The company stated that Apple would be its main customer for the 3nm processor in 2023, as per the report. The N3E version of the mobile processor is said to be available only after Apple launches the iPhone 15 Pro models, while Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC could be the first 3nm chip to power an Android phone in 2024. According to a report by DigiTimes, first spotted by PhoneArena, iPhone 15 Pro models will be the most powerful smartphones in 2023. The report cites TSMC's N3E production schedule to share that Apple will be its main customer for the 3nm chips in 2023. Meanwhile, the company will reportedly deliver the new chip to other smartphone brands in 2024.The report suggests that Apple's iPhone 15 Pro lineup that could succeed the iPhone 14 series that is expected to launch on September 7, will be the first major smartphone lineup to feature the 3nm chips with the Apple A17 Bionic SoC. Android smartphones could be powered by the first 3nm chip in 2024, in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to the report. Unlike Qualcomm, MediaTek will reportedly launch 3nm processors made by TSMC by the end of 2023. Yesterday, we reported that AMD's Ryzen 7000 CPUs would be really toasty when running at stock settings but don't worry, Undervolting is there to save the day. AMD's Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPU Undervolting Could Offer Significant Frequency & TDP Headroom While Dropping Down Temps In the previous report, we stated how AMD's Ryzen 7000 CPUs have been alleged to run really hot even at stock TDP ratings. The Ryzen 9 7950X with a PPT of 230W and the Ryzen 5 7600X with a PPT of close to 130W are said to hit 90-95C temperatures at stock configurations which is almost at the edge of their thermal threshold. After hitting this threshold, the CPU will downclock itself and run at much lower frequencies of 5.0 GHz, a drop of -700 MHz.Now Harukaze5719 has found out to AIDA64 entries which are allegedly from an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU. The first result shows us the stock configuration where the ES chip is seen running at a frequency of 5.05 GHz. The temperature can be seen sitting at 93.1C at 122W in the AIDA64 FPU stress test. This is a really high temperature but in the second window, we can see a manual Vcore adjustment which drops the temperature significantly down to 56.5C and also the wattage to just 68 Watts while retaining the 5.05 GHz. It is likely that there could be a power or voltage bug in the AMD Ryzen 7000 ES/QS parts which is leading to such high temperatures but undevolting more or less fixes the issue. Now it remains to be seen whether the manually adjust voltage will be good enough to handle the 5.5-5.7 GHz clock speeds that the Ryzen 7000 CPUs have to offer. It could be possible that the undervolting is good enough for a 5 GHz clock speed but more voltage would be required to hit the higher frequencies. Considering that the Zen 4 chiplets are smaller than their predecessor but much denser, they will require a lot of cooling. It looks like that might be one reason why the chiplets are also gold-plated this time to effectively move as much heat away from them and to the IHS. A new screenshot by leaker, Enthusiast Citizen, reaffirms his claim though once again, the result is based on an ES chip and the problem may have been tweaked in the final silicon: All of this means that users should definitely look forward to investing in some really high-end AIO coolers if they plan on building a new PC with AMD's Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs. Of course, this is just a rumor for now and we will wait for final tests and reviews to confirm the validity of this rumor but AMD has put in their best efforts to make sure that heat is dissipated off the CPUs by issuing a gold plating on both the IHS and the Zen 4 CCDs as detailed here. The AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs launch alongside the AM5 platform on the 27th of September. https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7000-cpu-undervolting-signficant-thermal-power-performance-headroom/

Inti Creates’ Azure Striker Gunvolt series is a trilogy of side-scrolling shooters originally released on the Nintendo platforms, and later elsewhere. The team behind the games released the third game, Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, on Nintendo Switch back in July, as well as on Xbox Series at the start of last month. On that note, there’s an update relating to its platforms. Inti Creates revealed today that PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 will get their own versions of Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. Kopite7Kimi recently took to Twitter to discuss the possible specifications of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. The confusing aspect of this leak is that NVIDIA has various specifications that the company is rumoring for the upcoming GPU series. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics Card Gets Two "Alleged" Specs, One With 12 & Another With 10 GB GDDR6X Memory We had previously reported the specifications of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card that was said to offer up to 7680 cores with 12 GB of GDDR6X memory however, it looks like NVIDIA is not sure what spec they will be finalized for the card itself. According to the leaker himself, NVIDIA has two boards for the RTX 4070 graphics card, the PG141-SKU340/341 & the PG141-SKU336/337. Both of these boards will accommodate very different GPU configurations and memory specs. The leaker states that the top SKU will retain the same specs as previously reported at 7680 cores, 12 GB GDDR6X memory running at 21 Gbps across a 192-bit bus interface, and a TBP of 285W. The other SKU is a bit conservative with just 7168 cores, 10 GB of GDDR6X running at 21 Gbps across a 160-bit interface, and a TBP of 250W. It is stated that either of these configurations can be used for the RTX 4070 series graphics cards but based on the specs, if NVIDIA was to use a cut-down config for the RTX 4070, the higher-end variant might be adopted by the RTX 4070 Ti, If not, than the RTX 4070 Ti might end up going the AD103 route. NVIDIA is also trying to maintain a strong competition to AMD, especially with the opposing manufacturer releasing its new Radeon RX 7000 series later this year. But, it also raises the question of whether the company is struggling to design a graphics card that will offer the same consistency or better than AMD in the graphics and performance categories. NVIDIA will also be able to create standard RTX 40 series GPUs while still finalizing premium Ti variations to follow. The company will need to focus on releasing a functional card to please consumers with performance and price. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 series will land in the high-end category at around $499-$599 US while the RTX 4060 will be coming in at mainstream pricing of around $300-$450 US. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards are expected to be announced at GTC 2022 along with the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 but availability isn't planned till late 2022. https://wccftech.com/possible-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4070-graphics-card-specs-point-up-to-7680-cores-12-gb-gddr6x-memory-285w-tgp/

This year’s seen various gacha games experience the end of their lives. Games such as Brave Frontier had their own loyal fanbases but as such, have been shut down throughout the year. As of November, Dragalia Lost, another gacha made by Nintendo and Cygames, will be joining them. Initially released in Q3 of 2018, the game’s seen new story content, gameplay adjustments, and, most importantly, new playable characters added to the game. The game’s imminent shutdown is actually a followup to an announcement all the way back in March, which mentions the game’s service discontinuation. Back in March, Nintendo announced that the game’s final story chapter, Chapter 26 Part 2, would conclude the game’s story in July, with the entire game coming to an end at some point after that. Given that July’s come and gone now, well, we’re at the end of the line.As of today, though, Diamantium, the game’s premium currency (think of it like Silver in Destiny 2 or Auric Cells in Dead By Daylight), is no longer purchasable. Meanwhile, the game’s Upgrade Essentials and Packs, which are purchased using Diamantium, cannot be purchased after October 30th, 2022, so even those have a limited time window. As for when exactly the game will shut down, that will be on November 30th, 2022, at 1:00 A.M. After shutdown, the game will display an end-of-service notice upon startup, and you won’t be able to play it beyond that point. You’re better off deleting it after that since it won’t be getting future content in any capacity. While it’s sad to see games like this end for their dedicated playerbase, Draglia Lost can take solace in the fact that it lasted far longer than BlazBlue Alternative Darkwar did (who didn’t even make it a full year without being shut down). Dragalia Lost is available to download on iOS devices and Android devices. https://wccftech.com/dragalia-lost-will-end-its-service-on-november-30/

Alleged benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X & Ryzen 7 7700X Zen 4 Desktop CPUs have been leaked by our fellow friend, @Harukaze5719. AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core & Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core "Alleged" Zen 4 CPU Benchmarks Leaked In CPU-Z The source had posted two CPU-z benchmarks that are alleged of an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X & Ryzen 7 7700X Zen 4 Desktop CPU. The scores and OPN code were hidden on request of the primary source but the single-core score was mentioned and the multi-thread ratio was also listed in the CPU-z pic posted earlier which has now been removed. But before that, the following is a recap of the specs for the two chips in the discussion. AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16 Core "Zen 4" Desktop CPU Starting with the flagship of them all, we have the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X which retains its healthy 16 core and 32 thread count from the previous two generations. The CPU will feature an impressive base frequency of 4.5 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.7 GHz which should make it 200 MHz faster than Intel's Alder Lake Core i9-12900KS which has a boost frequency of 5.5 GHz on a single-core. It looks like AMD is extracting every ounce of Hertz that it could within that 170W TDP (230W PPT) for the Ryzen 9 chips. As for the cache, the CPU comes with 80 MB of that which includes 64 MB from L3 (32 MB per CCD) and 16 MB from L2 (1 MB per core). AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8 Core "Zen 4" Desktop CPU Moving over to the Ryzen 7 family, here we have the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, an 8-core and 16-thread part. AMD positions this as the sweet spot for gamers and as such, the CPU will feature base clock of 4.5 GHz and a boost clock of 5.4 GHz but at a lower 105W TDP (142W PPT). The CPU will get a 40 MB cache pool which consists of 32 MB L3 from the singular CCD &8 MB L2 from the Zen 4 cores. Both AMD Ryzen 7000 Zen 4 Desktop CPUs tested here are ES samples that don't seem to be affected by the issues that were reported yesterday. We don't know what clocks they were running at nor do we know the test configuration but it is mentioned that the chips scored around 750-780 points in the single-core test. Using that as a basis to form a multi-threaded comparison, we come up with the following figures: So in the best-case scenario, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X will be slightly over 40% faster in multi-thread performance versus the Ryzen 9 5950X while the Ryzen 7 7700X is a little over 20% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800X. That's a vast disparity in the multi-thread performance increase (gen over gen) between the two CPUs which once again points out the fact that these are not final results & just early performance data. The results from yesterday also showed a 26% faster multi-threaded perf increase in Cinebench R20 so the 22% multi-thread perf increase here isn't far off.The single-core performance ranges between 20-25% faster than Ryzen 5000 "Zen 3" CPUs which is in line with the >15% single-thread performance increase that AMD itself had revealed. This brings the overall performance right next to Intel's Alder Lake CPUs but based on leaked 13th Gen Raptor Lake performance benchmarks, the blue team will retain the single-core performance lead and even have an advantage in multi-threaded performance but at the cost of lower efficiency. In addition to the performance numbers, the author of y-cruncher has added Zen 4's AVX-512 optimizations to the software and has showcased some early tests that he was able to run on a Ryzen 9 7950X CPU. https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-9-7950x-ryzen-7-7700x-zen-4-cpu-alleged-benchmarks-over-40-percent-faster-than-5950x/

The latest benchmarks of 96-Core AMD EPYC Genoa CPUs have leaked out within the Geekbench 5 benchmark. Spotted by Moe Moe, the new benchmarks show us a huge increase in multi-threaded performance whilst the chip is still running in an early clocked configuration. AMD EPYC Genoa 96-Core CPUs Benchmarked, Up To 17% Faster Single & 28% Faster Multi-Threaded Performance The AMD EPYC Genoa CPU is the same sample that's been doing the rounds over the internet for the past couple of months. The EPYC 9000 CPU bearing the OPN ID "100-000000997-01" features 96 cores based on the Zen 4 core architecture and 192 threads. The CPU was apparently tested on a motherboard known as the Suma 65GA24 which features 768 GB of DDR5 memory.Once again, we see that the CPU has been listed with an incorrect cache configuration. While the L2 cache is correctly listed at 1 MB per core or 96 MB in total, the L3 cache should be 32 MB per CCD for a total of 384 MB and not 192 MB as listed by the software. There are 12 CCDs so that's detected correctly. In terms of clock speeds, the chip was running at a frequency of around 3.51 GHz and the detailed JSON shows a 3.49-3.50 GHz clock speed averaging across the cores. We don't know what the max or base frequencies for the chip are but an EPYC Milan 7763 which is used for comparison to EPYC Genoa, has a clock speed rated at 2.45 GHz base and 3.5 GHz boost. We used a dual-socket result since the AMD EPYC Genoa was also running in a 2P configuration. That's a total of 192 cores and 384 threads. In terms of performance, the 96-Core AMD EPYC Genoa CPU scored 1460 points in single-core and 96,535 points in the multi-core tests. The AMD EPYC 7763 "Milan" CPU scored 1249 points in single and 75,539 points in the multi-core tests. That's an improvement of 17% in single and 28% in multi-threaded workloads. Now both figures are very close to the >15% single-threaded and >35% multi-threaded performance gains that AMD has touted for its Zen 4 cores vs Zen 3. We can't say if Geekbench 5 is optimized enough to support up to 384 threads that the AMD EPYC Genoa chip has to offer but looking at the clock speeds, it looks like we may have a misreported number here too because the >15% single-threaded gain that AMD talked about came from a mix of IPC and frequency (8-9% IPC gain alone). Here, both chips are shown to be running at almost the same identical clocks of around 3.5 GHz. So as you can tell, there are some issues with the way the benchmark is reporting clocks or it could be possible that the AVX-512 instructions on Genoa are being put to good use here but despite that, the performance gain over Milan is really good and we can expect even better results once the final product is out. https://wccftech.com/amd-epyc-genoa-96-core-cpu-benchmarks-leak-17-percent-faster-single-28-faster-multi-core-versus-milan/

The latest Rainbow Six Siege season, Operation Brutal Swarm, hits test servers today ahead of its full launch in early September. The headline features of Ubisoft Montreal’s latest update include new attacker Grim, who assaults opponents with swarms of robot bees (yes, really) and the addition of the previously-event-exclusive Stadium map to the full rotation. You can check out an overview video for Rainbow Six Siege Year 7 Season 3, below. Here’s a bit more detail on what to expect from Brutal Swarm’s new attacker and returning map…“In Operation Brutal Swarm, comb the site for intel with new Attacker Grim, a master of survival and reconnaissance from Singapore with military experience in stealth, security, and intelligence. His Kawan Hive Launcher System gadget fires a projectile that deploys a canister on the floor and releases a swarm of bee bots into the air. Defenders that pass through the swarm area have their location revealed by a ping. Even after leaving the swarm area, Defenders will continue to be pinged until the bee bots run out of battery. Grim is a high speed, low health Operator, equipped with a 552 Commando or SG-CQB as a primary weapon and a P229 as a secondary weapon.Alongside Grim, Stadium, a fan-favourite map, arrives at season launch as a permanent map. Featured during the Road to S.I. event, the map returns under a new name, Stadium Bravo, and gets added to the map pool in Y7S3. Utilising elements from other maps and indestructible bulletproof glass, this map challenges both teams to develop new strategies due to the map’s unique layout.” Ubisoft is also promising to add new features to combat toxicity next season, including Reputation System penalties for abusive text chat, and the ability to easily report cheaters using the Match Replay viewer. A number of balance changes and a total revamp of weapon recoil are also coming. Rainbow Six Siege can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Stadia, and Luna. Operation Brutal Swarm gets buzzing on September 6. https://wccftech.com/rainbow-six-siege-operation-brutal-swarm-details-release-date/

Can Intel's Arc graphics card run Crysis? The question has been answered in a video published by PCGamesHardware in which they put the Arc A380 through the test. Can It Run Crysis? Yes, It Can! Intel's Arc A380 Graphics Card Delivers Over 60 FPS at 1080p The testing performed by the tech outlet was done using the GUNNIR Intel Arc A380 Photon OC graphics card. This is one of the only two custom designs that are available on the market right now. The card features a slightly higher TBP of 92W (vs 75W reference) and also runs at a higher clock speed of 2450 MHz (vs 2250 MHz). Intel Arc A380 Graphics Card Specs: The Intel Arc A380 graphics card is an entry-level design featuring the full ACM-G11 GPU that utilizes the Alchemist Xe-HPG architecture. It houses the full GPU configuration, making use of 8 Xe-Cores or 1024 ALUs. The graphics card also features 6 GB of GDDR6 memory running at TBP rated at around 92W. The maximum frequency for the card is rated at 2450 MHz which shows that Intel is taking full advantage of TSMC's 6nm process node. The card features a VRAM clock of 15.5 Gbps for 186 GB/s bandwidth running across a 96-bit bus interface. The Intel Arc A380 graphics card was tested within the OG version of Crysis, not Crysis remastered. The older title uses the DX10 API and the resolution was set at 1080p (FHD). The quality settings were set to "Very High" with 4x MSAA. The original Crysis itself is a very taxing game, even if it's more than a decade old. However, the remastered version of Crysis puts the original title to shame with even more GPU-taxing quality settings such as Ray tracing support and higher-res textures. A small segment of the game was shown running on the Intel Arc A380 graphics card. This is from the level "Paradise Lost" which is right after you exit the Ceph mothership. The "Core" segment & the latter part of the game which includes the iconic "Ascension" VTOL sections are some of my favorite parts of the game. But coming back to the performance, the game was running at a very smooth 60-70 FPS and even went as high as 80+ FPS. There was no frame stuttering and that's a good showcase considering Arc GPUs are only well-optimized for DX12 and Vulkan titles with a few DX11 titles making the exception. PCGH states that they didn't encounter any problems playing the game in DX10 API and they will be comparing the performance with an AMD Radeon RX 6400 graphics card soon. But this proves that Intel Arc can indeed run Crysis! https://wccftech.com/intel-arc-a380-entry-level-graphics-card-can-definitely-run-crysis-at-1080p-with-over-60-fps/
