  1. Minisforum has further detailed its upcoming B550 Mini PC which will feature support for socketed AMD Ryzen CPUs & full-length discrete graphics cards. Minisfroum Details Its Upcoming B550 Mini PC: Supports 65W Socketed AMD Ryzen Desktop CPUs & Full-Length Discrete Graphics Minisfroum first announced details on its B550 chipset-powered Mini PC back in November 2021. The company told us the upcoming product is their most powerful design yet, offering up to 12 Core AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs. The CPU selection will range from Ryzen 5000G APUs and the Ryzen 5000X CPUs with TDPs of up to 65W. The Minisforum B550 Mini PC will be a full DIY setup featuring a highly customizable design. It will come with a free expansion dock which has a docking board for the Mini PC itself. The PCIe x16 slot can be exposed to plug it on the riser board which allows you to set up the docking board with any regular discrete graphics card. The docking board is a mix of an extension and a DIY chassis. Three months ago, mini PC manufacturer MinisForum released information about an AMD B550 chipset mini PC. According to the press release, the mini PC will support a CPU with no integrated graphics card so it will have to support a dedicated GPU although they didn’t talk about which GPU will be equipped in the mini PC. Today there is some new information about it. The mini PC’s custom motherboard has a PCIe connector that can be used to connect with a dedicated graphics card with the help of a supporting dock (dock is included in the package). The motherboard also has two M.2 2280 SSD slots that support NGFF SATA and NVMe PCIe3.0. There are two ways to power the PC. If you use AMD APU like 5600G or 5700G, there is a standard 19V power brick included in the package and you can use it directly without using the supporting dock. However, if you want to do some DIY and connect it with a dedicated graphics card, you will need to use your own ATX or SFX power supply. By doing so you can use a desktop CPU like 5600X in this mini PC and the whole system’s power consumption will be more than 600W. It has a cooling solution which supports 65W TDP. Minisforum has stated that the system with its baseline specs will feature both SFF/ATX PSUs with 120W power consumption and can be scaled up to 1000W depending on the configuration you select. The platform will be based on the B550 chipset and supports PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. The power will be provided by a 120W Gallium Nitride adapter supporting an ATX (SFX) power supply for a 12V (only) connection. Some of the Minisforum B550 Mini PC features are listed below: The motherboard is exclusively customizable DIY support; ATX or SFX power supply can power both the mini pc and graphics card separately It has good cooling performance and supports a 65W TDP CPU in quiet condition; PCIe3.0 X16 connector(*To use this function, you need to use the supporting docking board) 4K video, enough for office use, plus all configurations come with a free expansion dock to support regular discrete graphics, fast rendering, accelerated editing, and large games There's no word on pricing or availability on the Minisforum B550 Mini PC but the base configuration should land in around $899 to $999 US. Users will have to purchase the CPU, GPU, PSU, and storage themselves. Expect Minisforum to share more information on their AMD-powered Mini PC soon!
  2. Rumors have been flying fast and furious for the last few weeks, but today Activision confirmed some major news about the future of Call of Duty – this year’s core game will indeed be a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Warzone 2 will launch alongside it. Both games are being developed by Infinity Ward and are being built using a new engine, which will power all Call of Duty games going forward. A small handful of Call of Duty influencers got to sit in on a conference call with franchise leadership yesterday, during which they received some more information about plans, particularly for Warzone 2. A fairly thorough recap was provided by Jackfrags, which you can check out below, provided you have around 10 minutes to spare. Basically, Infinity Ward is aiming for Warzone 2 to be a big sequel-worthy evolution of Call of Duty battle royale. The plan is for an all-new map, sandbox mode, and some “disruptive and innovative” ideas. Apparently, Infinity Ward wants to give players more agency, with new modes and rules that will allow you to win matches in different ways. There are also plans to greatly expand the Gunsmith system. As for the original Warzone, there are plans for a number of quality-of-life improvements over the coming months, including better matchmaking and ranked play, although a FOV slider on consoles is unlikely. You can get more detail on planned improvements here. As for the future of the original Warzone, it certainly sounds like the focus is going to switch to Warzone 2, but it’s unknown if the first game will still be updated California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) has filed suit against Activision Blizzard, alleging widespread gender-based discrimination and sexual harassment at the Call of Duty publisher. You can get more detail on that unfolding story here.Activision has yet to announce a release date or platforms for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2. So, what are your thoughts on all this, CoD fans? Excited for this year’s games and the new engine?

  4. NVIDIA seems to be having some trouble with their GeForce RTX 3090 Ti flagship graphics card which has reportedly been hit with a wide range of issues ranging from design to supply. But it looks like the card could be entering its final phase of production once again NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition Graphics Card Could Utilize The PG136C PCB As spotted by Harukaze5719, NVIDIA has recently submitted a new graphics card PCB known as PG136C to the EEC. We know that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition is based on the PG136 PCB but the new one seems to be a different variant. We don't know what the 'C' stands for but it is very likely that the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition could be utilizing this PCB and based on its publication date over at EEC, which is 7th February, it looks like this could be the final version that will be heading out to retail. Now the standard GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card came in two PCB flavors. The Founders Edition uses the PG136 PCB which is mentioned above and the reference variant that is shipped to AIBs is based on the PG133 variant. The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti would also get different variants for the FE & AIB specific models so we can expect PG136C for FE and PG133C for reference models though that isn't confirmed yet. The reason that a new PCB is required for the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is very simple. The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is going to be a powerhouse of a graphics card, featuring a 450W TDP & dual-capacity video memory (2 GB per module vs 1 GB per module). The graphics card will also be amongst the first to utilize the 16-Pin PCIe Gen 5 power connector and as such, you can tell why the changes had to be made. Although we have been hearing about several problems with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti card, it was never made clear if the issues were with the Founders Edition, the AIB models, or both. AIBs were asked to halt the production of their graphics cards so it is likely that both PCB variants were affected but I guess that's something we won't know for sure until more info is dug out. With that said, GAINWARD has also submitted its GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card to the EEC making it the latest AIB to have their custom lineup submitted. 5. Today marked the release of CrossfireX, the new Xbox-exclusive shooter co-developed by Remedy Entertainment, although you’d be forgiven if you didn’t realize it. There are no reviews for the game yet (codes were held back) and it was released without a lot of promotion. Well, it seems there’s a likely reason for that. Early impressions from fans are not good, with many criticizing the game for a lack of content, shoddy controls, and missing options you’d usually expect from a AAA shooter. Worst of all, while the game was supposed to be available on Xbox Game Pass on Day 1, many subscribers are having trouble accessing it. The official CrossfireX Twitter account has promised a solution for the Game Pass issue is coming. Meanwhile, the CrossfireX website has promised a variety of fixes are on the way, including… ADS with CAR-4 – sometimes the aim-down the sights goes in and out while shooting. This is a bug and will be fixed. Aim settings – we hear your request for options to adjust aim acceleration and sensitivity settings. We are working on adding more detailed options for the analog stick including acceleration, sensitivity, dead zone and aim assist. Sliding – the issue that sliding stops when colliding with the side of an object will be fixed. Also, we will improve the experience of speed reduction while sliding. Boogieman imbalance – We will adjust so as not to be able to obtain additional points while being in the Boogieman state. Also, the ability of HP auto-recovery will be removed, and the difficulty of becoming the Boogieman overall will be increased. More maps – several maps will be added for both Classic and Modern modes. Don’t expect all these things to be resolved right away though. The CrossfireX dev team says the fixes will take “some time” and the first update won’t be available until early March. CrossfireX is available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. link : https://wccftech.com/crossfirex-launch-issues-not-working-game-pass-fixes/

  10. Recently, European retailers have started listing Supermicro's upcoming W680 motherboards designed to support Intel's Alder Lake Xeon CPUs. Intel Alder Lake Mainstream Xeon CPUs Coming To W680 Motherboard Platforms Soon, First Boards Listed Spotted by Momomo_US, several European retailers such as Sona & Ahead-IT have listed the soon-to-be-released W680 motherboards from Supermicro. The W680 boards include MBD-X13SAE and the MBD-X13SAE-F. Both motherboards are listed with LGA 1700 socket & will feature the ATX form factor along with four ECC DRAM modules. In terms of pricing, the W680 motherboards come in either Bulk or Single-Unit option with the former being cheaper. The MBD-X13SAE-B costs 417.29 Euros in bulk and 424.30 Euros in single while the MBD-X13SAE-F costs 465.21 Euros in bulk and 468.70 Euros as a single unit. While the motherboards are listed with ECC support (which should be available for Xeon CPUs), the DDR5 memory does come with on-die ECC support which isn't the same thing. The German retailer has the additional MBD-X13SAV-LVDS variant which is listed for 372.95 Euros and all their boards on sale are said to ship within 3-5 days. As for what to expect from the upcoming Intel Alder Lake Xeon CPU lineup, we already know from leaked slides that the Xeon W-3300 CPUs will feature various TDP configurations starting with 125W on the top 'K' series parts and followed by 65W standard & 35W 'T' series variants. Each CPU will come with 20 PCIe Gen 4 lanes. The new core architecture is expected to bring a 20% increase in single-threaded performance over existing Rocket Lake CPUs. The Alder Lake CPUs should provide 16 PCIe Gen 5 lanes while the chipset should have several (24) PCIe Gen 4 lanes available for the platform itself. One thing to keep in mind is that the Intel Alder Lake Xeon W-3300 mainstream CPU family for the W680 platform might retain AVX-512 support. There's a good reason why Intel is actively blocking its board partners from offering the technology on mainstream Z690, B660 motherboards and even though a few manufacturers are offering a workaround for those who want to utilize AVX-512, it's very much something that is designed solely for the Xeon platform and Intel wants to keep it that way. The new Intel Xeon mainstream lineup is expected to launch in the coming months.
  11. When can fans finally get their hands on the much-delayed and debated Hogwarts Legacy? Recent rumors stated the game may be kicked forward again to 2023, but Warner Bros. itself has stated it’s still coming sometime in 2022. Of course, a full year is a rather wide time frame, although a newly-discovered book may narrow things down a bit. According to The Rowling Library website, a new companion book, entitled The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy, will be published on September 6. The book will be written by Jody Revenson, who has penned various other Wizarding World tie-ins, but otherwise, not too much is known about it (although its title kind of says it all). So, what does this mean for the release of the Hogwarts Legacy game? Well, due to spoilers, it would be extremely unlikely for a behind-the-scenes book like this to be released before the game it’s meant to accompany. Potter fans have also pointed out that September 1 was traditionally the date students went back to Hogwarts in the books. Could Warner Bros. be planning a thematically-appropriate early-September release for Hogwarts Legacy? Take this all with a grain of salt for now, but it seems like it may be the case. Haven’t been keeping up with Hogwarts Legacy? Here’s the game’s official description... Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. 13. BenQ has launched their newest MOBIUZ EX3410R & EX3210R displays, a unique 34" and 31.5" display with a substantial 1000R [CENSORED]ture BenQ launches new MOBIUZ series displays; one in conjunction with the Dying Light 2 Stay Human theme BenQ's monitor is definitely not the widest monitor we have covered, but sharing the trend, we are seeing in the computer monitor industry. The new 34-inch MOBIUZ display offers a 21:9 ratio. The display also provides a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, 144 Hz refresh rate, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and 350 nits of brightness. BenQ offers a lifting base for physical inclusions, the company's in-house 2Wx2 + 5W sound system, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a single DisplayPort 1.4 port. BenQ also offers an official Dying Light 2 Stay Human variant for their EX3210R 32" display that provides the same 1000R [CENSORED]ture, 16:9 ratio, 2K resolution levels, and 165 Hz refresh rates. Fish screens sound like an odd terminology, so let's go into the technology a little further. Fish screen monitors allow for several windows to be open simultaneously, increasing workflow and productivity. The ability for more windows to open on a single screen than a dual-screen presents a more significant overall experience that is more ergonomic and less straining.BenQ's fish screen displays offer vertical alignment (VA) panel technology. This technology allows the LCD panels to utilize vertically aligned liquid crystals perpendicular to the standard substrates, such as the polarized glass. When you add power to the display, the crystals tilt and allow light to pass through to the screen. VA panel technology is apparent on several fishtail displays on the market. However, the downfall to the picture quality is that smearing has become more common. Smearing is eliminated on VA screens when using Blur-free dynamic image retention technology and MPRT rapid response technology, providing active image response times, deciphering the residual images quickly, and decreasing motion blur. IPS curved displays are not easy to curve due to the screens being much more rigid and thicker, making them much more expensive. IPS panels also tend to leak light as well. However, you receive a larger viewing angle, improved color performance, and exceptional dynamic picture quality. Vertically aligned fish screens offer higher contrasts, higher and more accurate color reproduction, absolutely no light leakage, and a smaller viewing angle than IPS displays. BenQ's 34-inch MOBIUZ EX3410R display currently sells for $629.99, while the Dying Light Stay Human-themed EX3210R display has an MSRP of $599.99.

  15. Nokia G21 alleged renders have been leaked suggesting that the smartphone will come in at least two colour options. The images also suggest that the smartphone will feature a waterdrop notch and a triple rear camera setup. Claimed to be the successor of the Nokia G20 that went live in India in July last year, the rumoured handset is tipped to come with a 50-megapixel main sensor. The phone will reportedly pack a 5,050mAh battery with fast charging support and is said to come in two RAM and storage configurations. It was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website earlier this week. Tipster Roland Quandt shared the images in two sets on Twitter. In the first set, the alleged Nokia G21 is seen with blue colour hue, and the other set has the handset in a grey colour option. It shows that the phone will have a triple rear camera setup with an LED flash and a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The news comes a few days after the Nokia smartphone was spotted on Geekbench. The listing on the benchmarking website suggested that the phone will be powered by a Unisoc SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. Nokia G21 specifications (expected) Recently, a report claimed that the Nokia G21 could sport a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. 16. New photos of the unreleased Intel ARC Alchemist gaming graphics card appear on the Internet, allowing for a closer look at the cooler and the backside of the PCB. This is the third engineering sample pictured since Intel revealed its next-gen graphics lineup. Intel Arc Alchemist Graphics Card Pictured Once Again, ES Sample Shows Detailed Cooler & PCB The Intel ARC Alchemist graphics card was first visually demonstrated by YouTuber Moore's Law Is Dead. Intel's new card originally showcased a black cover with an elongated green printed circuit board back when we first saw it as an engineering sample. Later, it was showcased with a modern silver aesthetic but the latest shots once again show a black-colored shroud. The photos may be our first look at the new technology appearing on the engineering sample. This new sample is supplied with a black dual-fan cooling technology, which matches the same layouts in the earlier leaked photos. There is a more noticeable view of the I/O bracket with these new photos that uses three DisplayPort connectors and a single HDMI connection. Intel has confirmed that the new ARC Alchemist will begin graphics card architectures to support the newest DisplayPort 2.0. The printed circuit board displays as many as eight memory modules. From this observation, the card is possibly the 16 GB model (considered the flagship model of Intel's new line) or a lesser model, such as the 12 GB version. It is hard to tell which card is confirmed in the photos due to the inability to see the opposite side of the PCB. We can see that the engineering sample is supplied with 6-pin and 8-pin power connectors with room for an additional dual 8-pin layout if demanded. VideoCardz notes that the pictures provided can be construed as a hybrid of the other two engineering samples that we have seen previously from YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead. The photos do not show any changes to the main architecture of the Intel ARC Alchemist graphics card outside of the aesthetic design alterations. However, the new pictures could signal that Intel is preparing to launch shortly, even though the current rumors mention that the new 16 GB desktop ARC SKU will not launch until Q2 of 2022.
  17. Company of Heroes 3 is a real-time tactical strategy game that’s coming this year and looks to be another big evolution in the series’ trademark gameplay. The entire gameplay loop for the previous two Company of Heroes games revolves around commanding an army to conquer the lands in an ever-changing war that could turn at any given point. Yesterday, the development team at Relic Entertainment had made an announcement that covered the nature of the game’s campaign missions. The game takes place in the Mediterranean regions of the world, and Relic pointed out two major mechanics to come in the newest Company of Heroes title. You can watch the new Developer Diary below, which goes into further detail about the newest gameplay additions to the third entry in the series. Perhaps the bigger takeaway would be the new Dynamic Campaign Map. Offering “sandbox-style” gameplay, this new mechanic in Company of Heroes 3 allows players to command the overall war effort and experience a unique level of strategic choice. The team has also gone ahead to say that replayability is a strong focus as the Campaign takes “a big leap forward”. Mission Designer David Milne explains in the below video that Relic designed the missions in a way that challenges players, but that a mission can always be completed – no matter which factions, companies, or units they've selected. This would be a bit of a departure from some games, that punish you by locking some missions or routes away based on your decisions prior to the mission in question. Company of Heroes 3 also has one more thing to explain, but it’s more of a footnote; the game will be launching on Steam on day one. Company of Heroes 3’s release date is currently TBA, but will be releasing exclusively on Steam.

  19. Blender 3.0 introduced AMD HIP acceleration to the Cycles X render coding due to the removal of OpenCL. The support from AMD for Blender was restricted to Windows systems only, with probably Linux support added for Blender 3.1. However, AMD's delay on drivers means that the HIP Linux support is now anticipating a launch with Blender 3.2. Blender 3.1 will launch in March 2022. Brian Savery, Product Manager for AMD's ProRender software, remarked on the tracking ticket for the AMD HIP Cycles X render code: Regarding Linux support: Our driver release timeline unfortunately doesn't quite line up with the dates for Blender 3.1, and there are some fixes in there that are needed. It should be out sometime after bcon3 and before bcon4, but I'm proposing Linux support gets pushed to Blender 3.2 so there is time for testing. Linux users should be able to use it under 3.2 in march though. Daily developer builds for Blender 3.2, currently in "alpha" testing, can be found on the Blender organization's website. Blender is planning to release version 3.2 in June 2022. Users anticipate no further delays in AMD HIP for Linux with Blender support. Blender users receive the benefit from AMD Radeon graphics acceleration. Users operating Blender on the Linux operating system have an alternative with NVIDIA and the company's in-house driver stack, which has provided exceptional CUDA/OptiX GPU acceleration support. Currently, it appears a majority of AMD Radeon Linux users do not install the company's Radeon ROCm driver stack for HIP support. The support is also not heavily packaged beyond enterprise Linux allocations. With any luck, users utilizing Vulkan support from within Blender's environment can flourish and eventually heighten the graphics card support within this prominent open-source 3D modeling application. Last Tuesday saw the release of Vulkan 1.3, and NVIDIA resumes its unprecedented record of day one driver support for the cross-platform GPU application programming interface for 3D graphics and computing. Vulkan is developed by specialists from across the industry working in tandem at the Khronos Group. NVIDIA has diligently worked to advance the efforts of Vulkan in cross-platforms. In fact, NVIDIA’s Neil Trevett has been the president of Khronos since its early days of development.

  22. I'll give it that. It is "unique." Startup company Lukos presents the Lukos Ultrawide 4K monitor, a portable display for those needing extra-large screen space while on the go. Lukos, a new company with an innovative aesthetic, launches an original and oddly shaped portable display for gamers, graphic designers, and more. The new portable monitor is a 14-inch IPS monitor with a 4K resolution and a screen size of 3840×1100 px (32:9 aspect ratio). The Lukos Ultrawide 4K display delivers a 60Hz refresh rate and has up to 300 nits of brightness in its distinctive packaging. Lukos declares on their crowdfunding page that the display offers a 100% sRGB panel and 2ms response times. The Lukos monitor supports between two and four multi-view features from four different source inputs. The specifications presented by the company on the Kickstarter page remarks a 3840×2160 resolution but does not state the viewing available expressly. It is unclear if the display offers four 1920 x 550 images at once or two 1920 x 1100 screen spaces. The company has produced several advertisements on their Kickstarter that illustrate its gaming possibilities and show itself as a secondary display for ultra-wide content, such as stock information, screen compatible social media, or even creative control layouts. Unfortunately, the collection does not offer touch-screen functionality, which would make this quite a supreme package. Lukos declares that the device will offer plenty of device compatibilities, such as support for personal computing, game consoles, smartphones, or various tablets. The display offers six different connectivity alternatives: 1x DisplayPort 1.2 2x DisplayPort 1.4 2x HDMI 2.0B 1x HDMI 1.4 Lukos 4K Ultrawide monitor has built-in speakers and various buttons for on-screen menus and source input selections. The display has a USB Type-C connection and 12V power input for device connections. Lastly, the portable screen has a built-in fan and can rotate vertically and horizontally for different viewing angles. The company has made no word yet on the loudness of the internal fans and whether the user can deactivate them.VideoCardz notes that cable management on the monitor seems impractical due to the cables attaching to the top of the display. Nevertheless, some DisplayPort and HDMI cables offer 90° support, which should add to less eyesore. Right now, you can help support Lukos and their project for the "Early Bird" pricing of $419, or $479 once that particular funding is no longer available. Lukos even offers a bundle set of two displays for $758. PLEASE NOTE: All crowdfunding opportunities available have varying risks, so we caution our readers to ensure that you feel comfortable supporting any campaign on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or any other crowdsourcing platform.
