  4. Between 1980 and 1983 (or 1984, if taxis are counted) the CEC sold 6,708 Fiat 131 Mirafiori. Today, it is difficult to know how many survive: very few in conditions highlighted by its old and classic plate; many become part of gardens and lots that bring them closer to a property tax than to a bearing tax; and many others extending their retirement age with basic maintenance as the only reward for long and exhausting hours of heavy work. Along with those many Mirafiori, the other cars that since the late 60s began to po[CENSORED]te the scarce national roads (which increased their amount to the rhythm of the odometers of these machines) probably shared the same kind of history. Maybe it all started with a notice of vintage advertising that in black and white or in pale colors showed an attractive silhouette car; or maybe seeing in the streets a lucky person who was already proud. Whatever it was, this should have been followed by an economic effort, probably supported by a loan that would take years to pay off, which allowed that person or family to take pleasure in buying their first car.
  5. Dear Carolyn: My husband recently told me he had fallen for another woman. I was stunned, but even more when he said he had informed my daughters of his desires before he spoke to me. Both daughters stood up to him, and he and I have come to a fragile understanding that he really does want to stay in the marriage, but I can't get over the breach of him confiding in his own children before me. I recently opened up to the eldest child and, while remaining respectful of their father and cognizant that our marriage will continue, gave her a tiny bit of insight into her father's less-than-stellar behaviors throughout our marriage. I told her I still loved him, but felt she needed to understand his happy-go-lucky approach came at a price . . . my fear. She seemed content, she and I agreed it was a conversation she needed to hear, and this will end all talk of our marital life. Have I really crossed a huge line? — Stunned Stunned: Without knowing what you actually said, I can’t say whether you crossed a line. And I can’t know whether you will honor your pledge not to put her in the middle again — a huge factor. (Nick Galifianakis/for The Washington Post) What interests me more here is why, why, why you want to stay married to this man. By your own description, if I read you correctly, you live in fear. Whose company is worth that? Re: Stunned: "I was stunned . . . he had informed my daughters of his desires before he spoke to me": What's stunning here is his total lack of respect for you. As Carolyn said, why do you love someone who has no respect for you? — Anonymous Dear Carolyn: Silly question: I have a neighbor I run into a few times a week as we walk our respective dogs, and for the past six months she has made a variation of the same joke EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's based on an aspect of my appearance that changed around then, and is not mean or insulting, but I'm over it from sheer repetition. I think it started as a legit "wow!" reaction, and that I replied jokingly as if I was unaware of the change made it seem like "our shtick."
  6. Humanity can battle heresy and Chaos for millennia in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, but the last page of the book will just be a couple of lines that say ‘And then the Tyranids ate them all. THE END’. They’re a hive creature with a billion mouths that spreads across the galaxy, reducing worlds to alien soylent so it can make more mouths, and so on, until everything is consumed. Space RTS Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 lets you roleplay the hungriest fleet in the galaxy in one of three singleplayer campaigns. The new campaign structure behaves like a pared-down 4X campaign. You move your ships between sectors and develop planets to create resources, which you then spend on ships. In the Tyranids' case the currency is biomass, and they get it by occupying a sector. It takes only three turns for them to kill and liquify everything in the vicinity. The Imperium sends battleships to try and stop you, triggering real-time battles. Like the first game, engagements take place on a 2D plane (no Homeworld-style multi-directional laser parties here). You tend to have a few large vessels and a handful of escorts. The emphasis is on micromanaging each ship’s subsystems. Normal ships have special orders that let them boost speed, lock on to enemies, send out bombing runs, scan the area, and board enemy vessels. Tyranid ships aren’t normal. It feels more like corralling a shoal of squid that wants to run into the nearest enemy vessel and start chewing. The ships are surrounded by swarms of smaller Tyranids that buzz around any enemies close enough. Some of them can spit out spore bombs that serve as ranged attacks, but more than anything they want to use their terrifying two-second speed boosts to get close, and then start boarding with ravenous hordes of genestealer troops. It’s a chaotic way to play, and very bad news for other factions that need to get close to do damage (RIP Orks). You can do particularly gross things to vessels within a few ship lengths, like extend a sucker tentacle that latches onto the enemy and deals damage over time—it’s better not to think about how exactly that works. Smaller vessels can self destruct, leaving behind a damaging cloud of spores. The hardest thing about playing as the Tyranids, apart from stopping your ships from crashing into each other as they charge in, is getting them close enough in the first place. They start an encounter stealthed, so there is scope for hiding them in asteroid fields—their adaptive trait means they don’t take damage from detritus like other ships do. You have to be opportunistic and a touch lucky to pull off the perfect Tyranid ambush, but it’s a fun way to play them. The last thing you want is a Chaos fleet popping your squids with artillery as you try to rush them head-first. The campaigns look like sandboxes, but there’s plenty of story packed into between-mission chats and the occasional cutscene. The prologue mission is particularly heavy on spectacle, and overall the game does a great job of evoking the scale and pomp of the setting within the confines of the battlefields. In addition to the Tyranid campaign, you can also play as the Imperium and the Necrons (near-immortal regenerating robots). I haven’t had chance to experiment with the Necrons yet, but the Imperial ships behave much as they did in the first game. The UI makes the game look a lot more complicated than it really is. Every ship has a sensible autopilot mode that does a lot of the manoeuvring. Most of the game is about picking targets and focusing them down with the right weapons. It gets complicated when there are a lot of ships involved, and certain matchups can be very challenging. I was thankful for the pause button at points. When space squids clash with Imperial floating cathedrals, things get hectic. In a galaxy of dodgy Warhammer 40,000 games, the Battlefleet games really stand out. There are elements of the tabletop game that I’d like to see represented—galactic phenomena, gravity wells, and so on—but it’s a solid space RTS at a time when those are in short supply. We gave the first game an 80, and I wonder if Armada 2 can do even better when it launches on January 24.
  7. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is like a historically accurate Skyrim - this large-scale, first-person medieval RPG takes place in a massive open-world devoted to the real-world history of Bohemia (no Rhapsody here). In some ways, it's even more hardcore, stripping away the HUD indicators and minimap markers you've probably come to expect from giant RPGs. And amazingly, quests and world events will carry on with or without you, adding a real sense of urgency to your hero's actions; stopping to chit-chat with every NPC could mean missing out on the melee battle of a lifetime. Kingdom Come's refusal to hold the player's hand sounds like a refreshing change of pace, and if the finished product can pull off the kind of grandiose living world suggested by our preview, it should be something special indeed. When you hear the words "Medieval" and "RPG" in the same sentence you probably think of hacking away at mystical dragons and monsters with your sword or axe. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance, there are no fire-breathing lizards, or evil dark knights. The game pushes aside the fantasy for a story based in the true history of Bohemia, giving you a vibrant and authentic world to explore from a first-person perspective and mold by your choices. But what makes Kingdom Come stand out is its focus on delivering a genuine Medieval world experience without the hud indicators, map waypoints, and handholding of the typical RPG. Developer Warhorse Games really wants players to immerse themselves in the world, but the main character definitely isn't the center of the events happening around him. If you dilly dally, taking your time to complete a mission or get distracted for too long crafting potions, your mission will play out on its own. If you were meant to rescue a fugitive from a group of bandits, you may find that fugitive murdered in a dank cave if you take too long. Or if you decide not to take part in a battle, the event will play out without your influence - leaving you to deal with the results. This creates a fascinating branching narrative that is difficult to predict and feels completely organic. You'll need to find your way around the game's locations and accomplish your missions by interacting with the game's populous, but not like you would in your standard RPG. There are dialogue trees to navigate conversations and in order to get the desired information, you’ll have to choose your words carefully or risk ruining your reputation or missing out on quest clues completely. Kingdom Come doesn’t hold your hand through quest lines with talk-to-this-lady NPC markers or glowing breadcrumbs to lead you to your next destination. Oftentimes, you actually have to listen to what people say and figure the directions for yourself. It can even go so far as an NPC telling you to turn right at a bolder or to look out for a specific tree. Even the progression system takes a more realistic approach. Every skill you learn is enhanced by performing specific activities. Increasing your strength and fighting ability requires you to engage in combat. As you speak to other characters, you develop a higher speech skill which will eventually allow you to persuade and intimidate NPCs. But it isn't just skill level that affects your abilities in the world. For example, the success of your persuasion or intimidation attempt considers more factors than your speech skill - it also looks at what you're wearing. If you wear a massive set of plate armor and carry a giant axe, you're more likely to intimidate the other character. On the other hand, wearing more lavish, noble clothing will help you be more persuasive in conversations. Though much of the game is focused on interacting with the world and affecting the world's events with your choices, a medieval RPG wouldn't be complete without armored knights trying to bash through each other's armor in with barbaric weapons. Melee combat in Kingdom Come takes a realistic approach as well, giving you direct control over your offensive swings and defensive parries with a variety of period weapons like hand-and-a-half swords, swords and shields, maces, and axes. You control the direction of every swing of your weapon, choosing any direction from horizontal slashes and stabs, to diagonal cuts and top-down vertical slices. Changing swings can open up vulnerable areas in your opponent's defense, which you will need to act on. Combining your attacks with defensive parries and blocks (performed by a single button press) will keep your opponent off balance, and hopefully allow you to strike a killing blow. Kingdom Come: Deliverance borders on a Medieval simulator. Everything from the historically accurate environments, the events that carry on with or without you, and the technical focus of the combat system, makes you feel like you're right there in the world. Even the alchemy crafting system has your character physically pouring water into a pot, adding herbs, and boiling it for a prescribed time. The attention to detail is already overwhelming. If you're looking to get completely immersed in a Medieval world, you can support the game and jump in the beta by visiting the official site, or you can wait for the full release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC later this year.
  8. Fortnite is currently in downtime while Epic apply the pretty substantial v7.20 update, which includes some new additions, nerfs, and buffs. It’s an update that doesn’t mess around and balances a lot of players’ most common complaints. Gliders make their return as an item which takes up an inventory slot. Much like the Jetpack, these Gliders are passive and don’t need to be selected to be used and have finite uses. They are Rare so they won’t be seen all that often, though you expect Epic to need to change them up a little before too long. The Scoped Revolver also makes its debut, a fairly strong pistol that deals 42/44 damage based on its Epic and Legendary variants respectively. Respectable damage, but it’s hard to see how you will get killshots when most players immediately build after taking a hit. No news on headshot multipliers, so that may be the clincher. A new LTM, One Shot, has been added, which is a Sniper-only battle in which players have just 50 health in low gravity with Bouncers also being available to use. Should be a very fun mess. Other changes include an overheating mechanic being added to the Minigun (good call), all snipers working similarly to the Heavy, tweaks to rarities and drop rates for traps (as well as llamas), an unexpected nerf to how many mini shields you can carry, and some changes to accuracy with a gamepad. Full details below, or you can check them out on Epic’s official update. FORTNITE V7.20 PATCH NOTES LIMITED TIME MODE: ONE SHOT Summary There’s low gravity and every player has 50 health. Snipers are the only weapon and Bandages the only healing item. Jump high and aim well! Mode Details Gravity is set lower than normal. The Storm wait time has been greatly reduced in all phases of the game. The only weapons in this mode are Hunting Rifles and Sniper Rifles. Semi-auto Snipers and Bounce Pads have been removed from the Vault in this mode. Players will spawn with 50 health and can only heal if they find Bandages. WEAPONS + ITEMS Scoped Revolver Available in Epic and Legendary variants. Fires Medium Ammo. 42 / 44 damage per shot. Available from floor loot, chests, Supply Drops, and Vending Machines. Added Gliders, an item that grants Glider redeploy. This item takes up an inventory slot and can be found from normal loot sources. Gliders do not need to be selected to deploy. Activate them by pressing your jump button while in mid-air. Rarity is Rare. Gliders come with 10 charges. Each deploy uses a charge. When all charges are used the item disappears. Glider redeploy does not consume a charge when using a Launch Pad, Rifts-to-Go, or respawning in a Limited Time Mode. Found from floor loot, chests, Vending Machines, and Supply Llamas. Minigun adjustments Added an overheating mechanic. Overheat occurs after approximately 6 seconds of continuous fire. Reduced the wind-up time by 37%. Updated the audio for the Minigun. Rarity color adjustments Balloons changed from Epic to Rare. Stink Bomb changed from Epic to Rare. Scoped AR decreased from Rare/Epic to Uncommon/Rare. The following projectile-based weapons now have the same projectile trajectory as the Heavy Sniper Rifle: Bolt Action Sniper Rifle Suppressed Sniper Rifle Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle Hunting Rifle Weapon first-shot accuracy now works with icy feet and while on ziplines. The reticle center dot on Scoped Rifles has been reduced in size. This will mitigate situations where it appears you’re on your target but still miss the shot. Trap drop chance adjustments Total drop chance of Traps from floor loot increased from 3.98% to 4.73%. Cozy Campfire Drop chance from floor loot increased from 0.26% to 0.73%. Drop chance from Loot Llamas increased from 6.63% to 15.47%. Launch Pad Drop chance from floor loot increased from 0.53% to 0.98%. Drop chance from Loot Llamas increased from 13.25% to 20.77%. Mounted Turret Drop chance from floor loot decreased from 0.8% to 0.73%. Drop chance from Loot Llamas decreased from 20.42% to 15.47%. Small shields max stack size has been decreased from 10 to 6. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug that could cause you to lose the ability to switch weapons if firing a Grappler while crashing a vehicle or interacting with an object during travel. Fixed a bug where your ability to fire would be delayed after discarding a Grappler. Removed the ability to ride or be pushed by a Grappler due to the ability for players to move fast enough to cause network issues. Fixed Balloons not being popped by explosions. Fixed issue causing odd dynamite size/scaling when picking it up and re-throwing. When a player dies from Down-But-Not-Out bleed-out damage, the elimination distance is calculated from the original down location rather than the distance when they are fully eliminated. Fixed an issue that could cause Scoped Rifles to have full accuracy earlier than intended. Fixed an issue where the center dot of the reticle while scoped did not line up with the center dot while unscoped. Fixed dynamite re-throw ability from being canceled by changing weapons or being a vehicle passenger. Players will no longer receive credit for a “No Scope” in the elimination feed if they use a scope to eliminate a player. GAMEPLAY Zipline improvements Added the ability to change direction via player movement input button. Just move in the direction you’d like to go while riding a zipline, no jumping required. Rather than moving at max speed as soon as entering the zipline, players will now accelerate over time to reach that max speed. Destruction effects have been turned back on while riding a zipline. Players will destroy the nearby player buildings before attaching to the zipline so their path becomes clear Added a third decimal place for mouse/controller sensitivity to allow for more granular values. To help with situations where walls are built mostly underground, we’ve added functionality where an extra piece will be built for free on top of that piece. This occurs when the wall piece is showing less than 30% above ground. Gamepad Sensitivity Building sensitivity change also applies to edit mode. Editing will no longer interrupt gun fire and pickaxe swings. Corn stalks will no longer block gunfire. Editing a structure will now begin without waiting for a response from the server. This should cut down on ghost shots before editing and make it a smoother experience. Confirming the edit will still require sending data to the server and be impacted by high ping or poor server performance. Vehicle impact damage to a player will now respect shields instead of directly applying to player health. When a plane explodes due to any reason, it will now deal damage to both passengers and pilots. This damage no longer ignores shields. Infinite dab is even more infinite…Dab for 11 hours instead of 10 hours in the lobby. Adjusted map art to more accurately represent player & marker positions. Textures of props used in emotes are now pre-streamed so scorecard and other emotes that use props will have less chance of using a low-resolution texture. X-4 Stormwing passengers now have the same Hold to Exit functionality as pilots. Bug Fixes Fixed instances of glider redeploy not deploying when exiting a Stormwing. Fixed grenade throw animations not playing the follow-through when watching other players throw a grenade. Fixed the preview length on many emotes in the lobby to hear the full music track. Completing the “Play a match with a friend” Daily Challenge now correctly counts towards other quests that require completing daily challenges. Fixed players not being able to destroy the Boombox from certain distances. Fixed some issues with ziplines Players will no longer be flung across the map or get in broken animation states. A cooldown has been added to ensure jump spamming will not allow players with mild network issues to fall through the zipline collision. The zipline magnet will no longer remain over players heads. Players no longer fall when colliding with enemy structures. Players no longer dismount ziplines at steep angles when under bad network conditions. Fixed an issue where players would sometimes take 2 instances of impact damage from getting hit by the X-4 Stormwing. Damage numbers when shooting Mounted Turrets now properly displays as vehicle damage instead of player damage. Players who are emoting on the starter island will no longer continue emoting after jumping from the Battle Bus. Gliders and Umbrellas will no longer appear sideways or misaligned when dropping from the Battle Bus. EVENTS Tournament systems have been significantly updated to support upcoming features. We’ll be operating a series of small scale test events as we test these updates with more players. We will be testing in waves until we are confident in the new functionality. At that point, we will again begin running tournaments regularly for all players. Older tournaments will be removed from the Events tab on Switch & mobile devices for the time being. Data for those tournaments has been saved and will return to those platforms in a future release. Players will be automatically removed fthe rom match after 60 seconds of spectating after being eliminated. AUDIO Fixed shield damage sound playing when shooting or getting hit by teammates. Gliders that have music can now play their music in the lobby for previewing. Reduced the volume of the X-4 Stormwing. Reduce the volume of the Boombox. Added unique bouncing sound to Dynamite. Bug Fixes Fixed music cutting out on mobile/Switch platforms. Fixed incorrect boost audio loop for Quad Crasher on mobile/Switch. Fixed missing medium-distant Scoped AR gunshot sounds. Fixed loud winter biome ambient audio on mobile/Switch. UI Updated the ammo icons in the inventory to look more realistic. Building resources of spectated players are now visible. Bug Fixes Prevent pickup HUD interaction prompts from appearing while in a vehicle, since picking up is disabled while in a vehicle. Fixed error displays when a friend request fails. Prevented special preview actions (Play Again, Switch Model, Full Screen, etc…, shown when viewing a cosmetic item) from disappearing after opening and closing the chat window. Fixed a red background showing up when the chat window is opened while doing a ‘Full Screen’ preview of a Loading Screen cosmetic. Prevented unrelated loading screens from sometimes showing up instead of the selected Loading Screen while doing a ‘Full Screen’ preview. SOCIAL Battle Royale players can now accept party invites from players in Save The World and join games in progress. ART + ANIMATION Both Lynx and Zenith now have custom idle poses in the lobby. Bug Fixes The size of the Red Knight shield and Raven Back Bling from the Frozen Bundle now matches their original versions. Fixed a bug that was preventing the Deadfire Outfit from being reactive in game. Improved quality of the Golf Clap emote on mobile and Switch. REPLAY Bug Fixes Fixed a few replay loading issues that could cause a loading screen to appear when it was not necessary for one to be displayed. MOBILE Bug Fixes Fixed a bug causing users to aim-down-sights when exiting vehicles. Fixed turbo building while holding extra build buttons. Fixed an issue where the Add Friend button for other party members in the Main Menu was not able to be clicked on mobile devices. Added HUD button This HUD button shows when you enter the in-game settings as a separate section to turn on/off certain HUD aspects.
  9. The humble train simulator has been around for almost as long as there’s been PC simulation games, and while the latest iteration of Train Simulator is the traditional choice, Train Sim World offers something a mite more ambitious – and it’s by the same developer, Dovetail Games, so fans of one should appreciate the other. It’s certainly the most realistic train sim game around – for example, you can’t even leave the station without priming the battery first. The whole game’s played in first-person, so all the driving, management, and upkeep is done from the ground level – just as if you were serving and running the train yourself. The whole point of simulation games is to make you feel like you’re actually doing the job, and Train Sim World does that better than any other – as we found while documenting our Train Sim World travel diary adventures. While it started off a little bare-bones when it released, Dovetail has consistently updated the game with new features, trains, routes, weather, and more. There’s also an array of DLC packs, too. It may all be a bit pricey for some, but the option to expand is there if you find yourself tiring of the same routes, and you certainly won’t be able to find a more in-depth and realistic train sim for your money.
  10. ASUS announces CG32UQ, a 4K HDR monitor for consoles with remote control and ambient light 2018 seems to be the year of console gaming monitors as we have already begun receiving information about such monitors. While Philips announced the first monitor of the Momentum range, which is basically a TV without the TV function, ASUS introduced to Computex the CG32UQ, a large 4K monitor, with a number of features specifically deployed for Xbox users One X and PlayStation 4 Pro. The new ASUS monitor integrates a 31.5 "panel made using VA technology, capable of displaying images at a frequency of 60 Hz. This is one of the few VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified monitors, delivering HDR10 compatibility and a maximum brightness of 600 cd / m2. In fact, the colors displayed cover 95% of the DCI-P3 range, which may offer more "accurate" HDR images than a 4K HDR budget TV. zoom in Also, the display frequency is dynamic between 40 and 60 Hz for devices that support Adaptive-Sync (or FreeSync), while the latency should be somewhere around 13 milliseconds, close to that of other gaming monitors performance. Being a monitor for consoles, it also benefits from some exciting bonuses. For example, we have two stereo speakers of 5W each, a 3.5mm audio jack, a four-port USB hub for controllers, headphones or other accessories, and three HDMI ports, plus a DisplayPort 1.2 port. The latter is probably included for gamers with multiple consoles as well as PCs. Bonus, compared to other monitors I've seen in the past as "monitor for consoles," the CG32UQ from ASUS will also be delivered with a remote control to control settings or select remote video inputs. Another interesting thing that we rarely find on monitors or TVs is the Halo Sync ambient illumination behind the monitor using 38 RGB LEDs, the colors being matched to the content displayed on the screen. This is a technology similar to Philips Ambilight, but which in one way or another does not violate the Dutch patent.

  14. Those who have iPhone affected by the performance limitation problem and have not yet changed the batteries in the discount program offered by Apple, can now install iOS 11.3, which offers the possibility to disable this feature. In addition to the new "Battery Health" tab in settings, the new version of the operating system adds enhanced features for AR applications, new Animoji icons, and a few other news. Of course, most users will be interested in the Battery Health menu, which can now be found in the battery section of the settings. Here you can check the status of your phone battery and how it operates. If it has not encountered problems caused by a "tired" battery, it will display "Peak Performance", but if the battery has rebooted the performance is limited. Users can deactivate the limitation in this menu, and performance will increase to the original. ARKit, the development software package for AR applications, has reached version 1.5, now offering support for vertical surfaces. Up to now, AR applications could only recognize horizontal surfaces, but now doors and walls can be detected, and virtual elements can interact with them. Surely this feature will be useful in interior design applications like IKEA. The four new Animoji animated icons are a lion, a bear, a skeleton and a Chinese dragon, which are only available for iPhone X users. All other iOS 11 users can, however, receive Animoji animations on non-TrueDepth devices . iMessage has received a much-needed capability: business accounts. Businesses can now register accounts for Apple's messaging system, making it easier to interact with customers on iOS. The Health Records function has been introduced, which manages user health indexes, and can synchronize the application with compatible systems in hospitals. Data stored in Health Records is encrypted, and accessing the site requires a user-selected password.
  15. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB GPU with GDDR5X memory first appeared on NVIDIA’s website just about a month ago. Now, MSI has unveiled its own version of this graphics card, the MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Armor 6GD5X OC. The difference between this and the other GTX 1060s is that this one is paired with a GDDR5X memory which is generally found in NVIDIA’s higher-end cards, so for this GTX 1060, NVIDIA has used its GP104 graphics processor (which was earlier exclusive to company’s higher-end cards like the GTX 1080, GTX 1070, GTX 1070 Ti) instead of GP106 that is used in other GTX 1060 variants. In terms of physical dimensions, the MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Armor 6GD5X OC measures at 276 x 140 x 41 mm and uses two PCI slots. The GPU uses MSI’s black-and-white colored Armor cooler. The heat generated by the GPU is dissipated using copper heat pipes that run into a huge heat sink with multiple aluminum fins. The card is equipped with Airflow Control technology to improve the airflow towards the heat pipes. Other than this, the GPU features two MSI TORX fans featuring MSI’s Zero Frozr technology, which starts the fans whenever the GPU temperature crosses the 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit) mark and keeps them silent if the temperature is below 60 degrees Celsius. The fans themselves have a patented blade design to provide strong cooling without minimum noise. Coming to the technical specifications, the number of CUDA cores remains at 1,280 just like the other GTX 1060s. The difference, as mentioned earlier, comes to the memory with this one paired with GDDR5X graphics memory. The base clock speed is 1,544 MHz while the boost clock speed sits at 1,759 MHz which is about 51 MHz more than NVIDIA’s reference specification. The GDDR5X RAM has a clock speed of 2,002 MHz delivering an effective clock speed of 8,008 MHz on a 192-bit memory bus width. The GPU has a TDP (thermal design power) rating of 120 W and uses a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe power connector. The MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Armor 6DG5X has two SLI connectors but it’s not confirmed whether it supports SLI or not since the original GeForce GTX 1060 didn’t support any SLI configurations. The GPU’s video output ports include three DisplayPort 1.4 output ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, and one DVI-D Dual port. the GeForce GTX 1060 Armor 6GD5X OC revealed by MSI yet.

  18. My artwork was not on the walls, there was furniture missing, the glass panel on my staircase was shattered What’s the worst that can happen?” I thought when I put my house on Airbnb. While I didn’t have a warm feeling about strangers sleeping in my bed, I was intrigued by the idea. I was recently divorced and I bought my home, with three bedrooms and views of New York’s Hudson River, at the end of 2016. It represented a new chapter for me. Its contemporary architecture isn’t for everyone, but I was seeking to simplify my life. My two teenage boys stay with me half the time. Last December, I put the house on Airbnb and rented it four or five times. The listing explicitly said no parties. Then a request came through to book the house for one night on New Year’s Day. It was from a young man, probably in his early 20s. He had one review but it was terrific. He told me he owned a small record label and wanted to use the house to get some Instagram shots. I’d had a model with the same request before, so it wasn’t unusual. The night before the booking, on New Year’s Eve, two couples with infants had stayed and I spent three hours with a cleaning crew to get the place ready – changing sheets, cleaning the hot tub on the roof. By the end, the house was pristine. The guest arrived at 3pm and was respectful. He said there might be a couple of people coming over, but that was it. I picked up my boys and we stayed down the road at my mother’s apartment. I went to work the next morning, and around noon, which was checkout time, I texted the guy to say I was heading over. As I approached, I noticed his car wasn’t in the driveway. Then I saw that he’d texted to say he’d woken up late and could I give him half an hour. So I went and bought a sandwich. When I got back I saw three or four cars in the driveway. I threw my food down and knew I was screwed. Inside there were about 12 young adults, all trying to clean. The floors looked like someone had poured Jägermeister and champagne everywhere and then danced on them. Everything seemed wrong: my artwork was not on the walls; there was furniture missing; the glass panel on my staircase was shattered; even the floor didn’t seem level any more. Then I noticed they were using my best sheets and towels as mops. Without raising my voice, I pointed to the guy I’d rented to and gestured for him to walk over to me. I felt like a father about to lecture his son: “What the [CENSORED]? What did you do?” He was remorseful and said things had got out of control. I asked how many people had been there and he said, “20, 25.” I wasn’t buying it. I didn’t know what to do next. I told them no one was leaving and I called the police and Airbnb. When a police officer turned up, he said it was a civil matter, before adding: “We were here last night.” I couldn’t believe no one had contacted me. One of the neighbours said they thought it was my kids and they didn’t want to get them into trouble. I lectured all the kids and had some call their parents. Ultimately, it was just stuff and I knew it would be OK. But I felt a massive disappointment in humanity. That night, it wasn’t hard for me and my boys to find Instagram pictures and videos of the party. It was horrifying to see so many people in the house, jumping up and down on the furniture and windowsills. They broke my hot tub and tiles in the bathroom; when I looked in the rubbish bags, I saw all my drinks bottles empty, as well as broken glasses and towels. I found an image online of the invite that said, “Mansion Party” with my address. There had been 300 people there. Boys were charged to enter; girls got in free. Airbnb didn’t get back to me. After three days I decided to call the local press and share the videos we’d found to try to get the company’s attention. Airbnb then got in touch and apologised. I can’t disclose the amount it has paid me for the damages, but a year later repairs are continuing. The floor is still uneven. When I look back at the video now, I find it funny. There are much bigger problems in the world. Right now, I’m out of the Airbnb business; I want to get back to simplifying my life.

REUTERS/Piroschka Van De Wouw/File Photo BUCHAREST (Reuters) - Romania has officially recognised opposition leader Juan Guaido as Venezuela’s legitimate interim president, joining a coordinated action of European Union nations and the United States, President Klaus Iohannis said on Friday. Sponsored About 20 EU nations including Britain, Germany, France and Spain have aligned with the United States in recognising Guaido’s leadership and pressuring socialist President Nicolas Maduro to call a new election. 21. Bossa Studios, the creator of the sleeper hit Surgeon Simulator, is heading for adventures in the sky with its next game Worlds Adrift, and VentureBeat is reporting it has raised $1.35 million in funding from UK investment firm London Venture Partners to fund the MMO. Worlds Adrift, as Bossa Studios previously explained to Gamasutra, will be a sandbox online game where players can join together to crew flying pirate ships as they sail through the floating islands of a fantasy world. The funding is a big jump for the UK developer, whose previous games Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread have been far smaller than a full-scale MMO. The company has already released a player creation tool for Worlds Adrift which lets them create their own islands that can be considered for implementation in the game. In a statement, Bossa CEO Henrique Olifiers says the company intends to use the funding to take advantage of advancements in cloud computing technology to create a more procedurally-generated MMO, rather then the scripted MMOs of recent years. “Think of it as the difference between a scripted TV show where once you’ve watched an episode and know what’s happened…versus an improv stage where the same scenario can lead to an infinite number of unexpected interactions due to actors empowered with full freedom each time,” Olifiers says. Olifiers previously told Gamasutra that Worlds Adrift was only possible thanks to a partnership with world simulator startup Improbable, which builds operating environments for virtual worlds.
  22. Not only did I receive a precious family heirloom—my grandmother's briefcase full of snakes—and not only can I open that briefcase to extract either snake venom or snake-based medicine, but I can use a snake from that briefcase to whip an enemy during combat. In fact, I've done it. Against another snake. I whipped a giant snake with my briefcase snake. Welcome to the Old West. West of Loathing is a singleplayer RPG adventure with turn-based combat from Asymmetric, developer of browser-based multiplayer RPG Kingdom of Loathing. You may remember that one: it came out back in 2003. I've been playing a review build of West of Loathing, which is due out August 10, and I've just completed the prologue which consists of a handful of locations, quests, puzzles, and combat. So far, I'm enjoying the absolute hell out of it. It's precisely the game I need right now, because not only is it fun but it's genuinely funny, and Loathing's humor is everywhere you look: dialogue, quest text, item descriptions, and hell, even in the settings menu. At one point I wanted to stick my hand into a saliva-filled spittoon, and there was a little tussle as the game repeatedly suggested it wasn't a great idea by becoming more and more descriptive about how disgusting the contents of the spittoon were. I kept insisting that yes, I really wanted to go through with it, and the game finally acquiesced. West of Loathing is drenched in amusements, just like my character's hand is now drenched in revolting spittoon slime. I've only finished the prologue and it was great fun, start to finish. It begins as you prepare to leave the homestead and head west, where you can putter around your house a bit, talk to your family, and gain XP by doing things like combing your hair and solving a Rubik's Cube. Choose your character class: one uses a combination of magic and cooking, another is a good brawler, or, like me, you can use snakes as weapons and to create potions. Then head to Boring Springs, a small town filled with oddball characters who have appropriately oddball quests for you to complete. The art, obviously, is spare, yet the stick-figures are still cute and enjoyably animated, and just about everything in a scene has a purpose, even if they don't appear to at first. I noticed that while walking through the starter town I'd occasionally step in a pile of manure or brush up painfully against a cactus. These aren't just little art details—both the poop and the cacti can become elements of of gameplay under certain circumstances. This, along with the fact that the reward for nosing around everything you see rewards you with more funny tidbits of text, makes the stick-figure world worth exploring fully. The choices you make can change your character, as well as your future choices. Early on in my first stroll through the prologue, I made what I considered to be a moral choice when faced with a particular situation, and that unlocked a new attribute that gave me options to continue to be a reasonable and merciful cowpoke further down the line. When I went through the prologue again with a new character, I made a cold-blooded choice instead, which gave me the option of being a real bastard a bit later. (Sorry to be so vague, but I really don't want to spoil anything for anyone.) Combat is turn-based, and I'm not entirely sold on it as much as the adventuring (though I've never been much of a fan of turn-based combat anyway). Still, it's early in the game and I don't have a lot of combat options at the moment. Die, and you're auto-loaded to the area before the fight, so you can either try again, prepare by using some items (like eating something that gives you a boost to your stats), or mosey away to do something else or get better equipped. One fight, against two gunslingers, proved challenging due to my low HP, but a few tries later (thanks to using snake poison on them and snake healing on myself) I won. Most of my time in West of Loathing has been spent attempting to fully explore and find every last shred of text in every single location. It's weird, because I bounced off Prey recently, mostly because I quickly got tired of all the time required to peek into every single desk, drawer, bin, and cabinet. Scrounging and peering and inspecting every square inch of game space just hasn't felt appealing to me lately. In Loathing, though, I'm walking my stick-figure body into every square inch of the world because I simply don't want to miss anything: not a line of dialogue or an item description or an amusing little secret nestled away in a corner of the screen. What I've played so far has simply been too enjoyable to leave a single shred of text unread. West of Loathing is set to release on August 10 on Steam—though there's no price confirmed yet.
