In today's review, the tested memory kit comes in at DDR4-3600 with programmed timings of 18-20-20-42 and will vie for a spot on our list of Best RAM. Adata packs the Spectrix D50 memory kit with two single-rank memory modules with a capacity of 8GB each. They rest on an eight-layer PCB, featuring SpecTek-branded integrated circuits (ICs). If you haven't heard about SpecTek before, it's a subsidiary of Micron. In reality, these are MT40A1G8SA-062E:E ICs from Micron, which the hardware world commonly refers to as E-die. The Spectrix D50 memory modules default to DDR4-2666, with the timings configured to 19-19-19-43. Adata provides two XMP profiles to choose from. The primary profile puts the memory into DDR4-3600 with 18-20-20-42 timings, while the secondary profile drops it to DDR4-3200 with tightened timings at 16-18-18-36. The DRAM voltage for both XMP profiles is 1.35V. For more on timings and frequency considerations, see our PC Memory 101 feature, as well as our How to Shop for RAM feature. 3. Watch Dogs: Legion has had its system requirements updated with Nvidia letting PC gamers know how it runs with the firm’s latest RTX 3000 graphics cards. And the big news is that if you want to run Watch Dogs: Legion at 4K resolution with ‘ultra’ details then you’ll need an RTX 3080 GPU – or an RTX 2080 Ti. If you want 4K ultra with ray tracing on (ray tracing on ultra quality, with DLSS set to performance), then your only option is an RTX 3080 (or RTX 3090 of course) – the RTX 2080 Ti won’t suffice. (In the latter case, the CPU requirements on the Intel front have also been upped to a Core i9-9900K from a 9700K). We show you how to build a PC These are the best gaming monitors Best PC games: the must-play titles you don’t want to miss What’s interesting here is that Nvidia is promising that the RTX 3070 will deliver ‘similar or faster’ performance than the outgoing RTX 2080 Ti, as we recently heard from the GPU maker, yet that isn’t the case with Legion here. While the RTX 2080 Ti is good for 4K ultra with no ray tracing, the RTX 3070 isn’t, and you need a 3080. Nvidia and Ubisoft also provided an additional set of specs for the requirements for ray tracing at 1440p with very high graphics settings (ray tracing on high, DLSS set to quality), and that’s where an RTX 3070 slots in as the recommended card. You’ll need to pair it with at least an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600. There are couple of further points worth highlighting, one of them being that the base spec (1080p resolution, low details) now calls for a GTX 970 graphics card (or GTX 1650) whereas the old spec allowed for a GTX 960. Sadly, it now seems that owners of the latter GPU are out of luck. The better news is for 1080p with ray tracing on high graphics settings (ray tracing on medium, DLSS set to quality) the required GPU has been notched back from an RTX 2070 to an RTX 2060 (the CPU requirements have been scaled back a bit too). Check out the new PC requirements for Watch Dogs: Legion in full below. 5. The CEO of Afriquia Gaz said the group saw its turnover drop by 50% in April. Rabat – Managing Director of Afriquia Gaz Said Baghdadi said he is astonished about the findings of Forbes magazine, which listed the group’s owner Aziz Akhannouch as the eighth richest billionaire in Africa. According to Forbes, the fortune of Akhannouch more than tripled during the COVID-19 pandemic. The magazine said Akhannouch’s net worth went from $1 billion in March to $3.5 billion in October. Baghdadi shared articles containing his statement via LinkedIn, saying, “One cannot help but be distressed by the data reported by Forbes magazine.” He said it is completely absurd to “put forward such risky and surreal figures, and to have fun in the midst of a crisis by disturbing millions and billions to the right and to the left.” Afriquia Group is the flagship of the Akwa Group owned by Akhannouch, who also serves as Morocco’s minister of agriculture and the secretary-general of the Rally of Independents (RNI). This is not the first time Forbes magazine has published data on Akhannouch’s fortune. In recent years, Akhannouch took over the position of Othman Benjelloun, the CEO of BMCE Bank of Africa, as the richest person in Morocco. Both businessmen appear frequently in Forbes magazine, both with billion-dollar net worths. It is, however, unprecedented to see a top official from the Afriquia or Akwa Group comment on the Forbes findings. In response to the data Forbes presented in its analysis of Akhannouch’s wealth, Baghdadi argued that Afriquia saw its turnover fall by 50% in April. “This decrease has accumulated at -20% to date, despite the end of the lockdown,” the CEO of Afriquia Gaz said. For Saaid Baghdadi, the group’s other activities are not doing “any better, especially catering to gas stations, which has been completely closed for months and which still remains subject to restrictions on reception hours and capacity.” The Akwa Group is active in several fields, including petroleum and gas through Afriquia gas stations. The group also has subsidiaries in the sectors of chemicals, telecommunication, tourism, and real estate. Baghdadi argued that the shares of Afriquia Gaz and Maghreb Oxygene, two subsidiaries of the Akwa Group, have been declining since the start of 2020. “These two companies issued profit warnings on their revenues last August,” he said. The Afriquia CEO claimed that the company and group are doing their best to cope with the “complicated and sensitive situation” due to the pandemic. He described the Forbes data as “fake news, which defies all logic.” “All of the information communicated is beyond us, and we are left to wonder how an organization that claims to be serious can let such enormities escape.”

  7. We check over 130 million products every day for the best prices The Asus ROG Theta 7.1 gaming headset ($300 as of writing) provides a uniformly excellent listening experience. But when it comes to the microphone, the headset stumbles significantly, making it much more difficult to recommend at the princely sum it commands. A gaming headset is a communications device. Of course, you want quality speakers that can create a rich soundscape for your favorite games, as well as movies and music. But the best gaming headset also lets your voice be heard, whether it's among fellow gamers, your co-workers or your Mom. The Asus ROG Theta 7.1 is a bulky gaming beast that shows off the aggressive gamer styling that the ROG brand is known for, while keeping the controls simple. The earcups are massive, featuring an attractive matte-black finish and RGB-enabled ROG logo. Asus ROG Theta 7.1 at Amazon for $299.99 You get a metal headband that’s lined with leatherette padding, and the earcups are adjustable via a simple push-pull mechanism. Each earcup is packed with four Asus Essence neodymium magnet drivers, which no doubt contributes to the headset’s considerable weight. The ROG 7.1 is a hefty 1.3 pounds. For comparison, among other pricey wired gaming cans, the JBL Quantum One and HyperX Cloud Orbit S are each 0.8 pounds, and the SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC is 0.9 pounds. Surprisingly, the ROG Theta 7.1’s considerable weight didn’t make the headset too uncomfortable to use, even after hours of gaming. Instead, the ROG Theta 7.1 sits comfortably on the head without feeling too tight, and it’s easy to adjust. Asus includes an extra set of earcup cushions with the Theta 7.1, which provide thicker padding meant to enhance comfort over longer play sessions. The earcup cushioning also provides ample padding without making your ears sweaty. If there is one negative note to add regarding the Theta 7.1’s comfort, it’s the bulky cabling. One cable comes out of each earcup and into the DAC, which runs to the USB-C cable. This is necessary to power the drivers, as there are four per earcup. Unfortunately, the cables meet just below the neck in a way that frequently caused them to make contact with my throat. This was extremely irritating. I wish I could somehow get these cables out of my way so they didn’t regularly rest just below my Adam's apple. The ROG Theta 7.1’s controls are simple and easily accessible. The left earcup features a solid rocker switch for adjusting volume that doubles as a mic on/off toggle when pressed in, as well as a toggle for stereo versus the headset’s virtual 7.1 surround sound. These controls sit comfortably just above the mic input of the back of the left earcup. Audio Performance The ROG Theta 7.1’s eight neodymium magnet drivers, branded Asus Essence, offer remarkable audio clarity and frequency definition, but they could stand to be a little louder. At 100% volume, the Theta 7.1 seemed noticeably quieter than other headsets I’ve spent considerable time with, including the Steelseries Arctis 1. This was true whether virtual 7.1 surround sound was on or not. In stereo mode, the ROG Theta 7.1 proved itself an apt platform for music, with excellent frequency separation allowing for clear note definition regardless of genre. Hip hop bass lines came alive with a tight bottom end that didn’t fuzz out when the drivers were pushed, and the bludgeoning math metal of Meshuggah retained its punch and clarity. The headset’s audio response is decidedly flat, which very much works to its favor when listening to music. When gaming with 7.1 mode, the Theta 7.1 really shined. The eight driver design is a perfect fit for directional audio and made those cues, like footsteps, stand out. Similar to stereo mode, there was no noticeable audio distortion at high volumes, so even chaotic firefights retained clarity. Doom and Counterstrike sounded clear and massive, affording me the ability to accurately pinpoint the direction an ambush was coming in with ease. The ROG Theta 7.1 also performed admirably in horror games, like Outlast, laying on the dread thick with its dead on approximation of 3D audio space. Films with complex audio mixes, such as "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the" King and "Saving Private Ryan" also benefited greatly from the Asus headset’s well-balanced audio and driver design. Microphone Unfortunately, the Theta 7.1’s microphone isn’t up to the same high standards as the drivers. Advertisement The unidirectional microphone is specced for a frequency response of 100 - 12,000 Hz and features AI noise cancelling. By default, the input signal is far too hot. While running tests in OBS Studio, I noticed that the mic was redlining at a level that would be well-suited to recording vocals for a Ministry album, but absolutely dreadful for communicating with teammates in a competitive game. Unfortunately, while dropping the mic slider down several notches, alleviated the ‘all the gain’ situation, it did nothing to prevent distortion and clipping. The Theta 7.1’s mic regularly clipped out consonants from my voice and distorted the bass register. To make matters worse, the high end response on the mic is shrill and brittle, adding an unpleasant sibilance to S sounds. The AI noise canceling feature of the Theta 7.1’s mic also failed to deliver much dampening. My keyboard was still clearly audible over my voice, as was the humming of the fans in my room. A more effective technique for squashing intrusive sounds was cranking up the noise gate, which begs the question: Why trumpet AI Noise Canceling when the most effective method for reducing noise is to adjust a setting manually? Asus offers its ROG Armoury Crate software for use with the ROG Theta 7.1. The free app features a number of audio tweaking options for the speakers and mic. There are a number of default presets for music (with additional options available for specific genres), movies and gaming. There is also a 10-band graphic EQ for those who wish to create their own custom EQ curves and a compressor and bass boost. All of these options were easy to adjust and had real impact on the overall sound. However, the compressor seems to limit the ceiling of the overall volume of the headset rather than function like a true compressor. The Theta 7.1 sounds best with the compressor disengaged. You can also adjust settings for the Theta 7.1’s microphone by toggling AI Noise Cancelation, True Voice and the Noise gate on and off. Unfortunately, none of these options proved very effective at improving the sound of my Theta 7.1’s mic, save for cranking up the noise gate. There is also an option for dialing in Voice Clarity that did help focus the mic’s frequency response, but the results were less dramatic than I had hoped. On the RGB side of things, you can choose between Static, Color Cycle, Breathing, Rainbow, Strobe, Music and Aura Sync (if you have other Asus Aura RGB-enabled hardware ). You can also create custom effects by downloading the Aura Creator software from the Microsoft Store. Overall, Armoury Crate offers an uncluttered interface and contains many of the options you’d expect in software for a premium gaming headset. One quibble with it is that any updates performed within Armoury Crate require a system restart. After my initial install, I had to restart my system twice to ensure that the software was current. Bottom Line Advertisement The Asus ROG Theta 7.1 gaming headset is attractive, well-built and features excellent audio in its overstuffed cans. Asus went with a novel design for the offering, stuffing eight audio drivers into the earcups to maximize the effectiveness of 7.1 audio. Solo gaming with this headset is nothing short of wonderful. Additionally, music sounds crisp, and movies sound clear and expansive . Unfortunately, the same attention that was obviously paid to the speakers was not lavished upon the Theta’s 7.1’s microphone. The mic simply doesn’t rise above average, regardless of how much care is taken to dial in settings via software. There are a number of problems that hold it back, most notably a default input gain setting that is hot enough to melt steel and truly ugly distortion and audio loss caused by frequent signal clipping. For a headset weighing in at over a pound, the Theta is surprisingly comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Sadly, the placement of the cables connecting the headset to its USB-C connector can cause irritation due to the thick cords that rest on your throat after even minimal movement. The real question the Theta 7.1 brings to mind is: Should you spend $300 on this? While the build quality, overall comfort and incredible-sounding cans push solidly in the 'yes' category, the subpar mic is a black mark. If you’re looking for a better mic, consider the Corsair Void RGB Elite USB, which has our favorite headset mic, the JBL Quantum One, which comes with more than one mic or the HyperX Cloud Orbit S, which didn’t disappoint in voice chats. At this price range, the SteelSeries Arctis Pro + GameDAC also offers a complete package, including High-Res audio, that’s tough to top. But if you’re looking for cozy cans that work well with a variety of media, help you keep ears on enemies while gaming and throws in a touch of RGB fun, the Asus ROG Theta 7.1 fits the bill.
  8. Mercedes-AMG will send a clear message that it is adapting to modern demands with the upcoming third-generation C63 by forgoing its long-standing V8 power in favour of an advanced four-cylinder hybrid drivetrain that develops more than 500bhp. The new C63 will be the first in a number of new AMG models earmarked to receive an electrified version of Mercedes’ new turbocharged 2.0-litre M139 engine when it goes on sale in early 2022. The four-wheel-drive rival to the Audi RS4 and BMW M3 is already undergoing intensive development at AMG’s Affalterbach engineering headquarters. The first sighting of a camouflaged prototype shows off an evolutionary look in line with the recently facelifted E-Class, and suggests AMG will not tone down the saloon's aggressive styling as it downsizes the engine. The potent four-cylinder engine kicks out a maximum of 416bhp and 369lb ft of torque in non-electrified form in the new A45 and its related siblings. The unit has already been engineered for longitudinal mounting as well as mild-hybrid electric boosting. It’s destined to be used in not only the next C63 but also, in a less heavily tuned form, in a follow-up to today’s turbocharged 3.0-litre V6-powered C43. The new C63 will be offered in saloon, coupé and convertible bodystyles, with the next C43 likely to be sold in those three guises as well as an estate version. Other AMG models set to run the new electrified driveline include successor models to today’s GLC 43 and GLC 63 SUVs, the GLC 43 Coupé and the GLC 63 Coupé. Autocar has been told the M139 engine will adopt a 48V integrated starter motor similar to that already used by the turbocharged 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder M256 unit, which powers the CLS 53 4Matic+ and other recent new AMG models. In the CLS 53 4Matic+, the gearbox-mounted starter motor provides an additional 22bhp and 184lb ft of electric boosting. In the next C63, however, it is set to be tuned to provide significantly more power in combination with a similar torque loading. The new EQ Boost hybrid drivetrain is also planned to run in combination with Mercedes’ nine-speed torque-converter MCT Speedshift gearbox. Nothing is official at this early stage, but Affalterbach insiders with knowledge of AMG’s new model plans suggest the new four-cylinder hybrid drivetrain will match the existing second-generation C63 4Matic’s V8 engine in outright power at a maximum 503bhp. This is despite a 50% reduction in swept capacity and cylinder count. With the benefit of electric boosting, it has also been conceived to deliver up to 553lb ft of torque – a 37lb ft increase on today’s C63 S 4Matic. Details remain scarce, although the new driveline is thought to adopt a lithium ion battery of higher capacity than the 0.9kWh unit used by the CLS 53 4Matic+. It is also expected to use a more advanced energy recuperation system that harvests kinetic energy at each wheel. One of the most significant advantages in the adoption of the new electrified driveline is a reduction in weight over the front axle of the new C63 4Matic. At 160.5kg, the M139 four-cylinder unit weighs 48.5kg less than the M177 V8 engine used by today’s C63 4Matic. Even with the addition of the hybrid architecture, including a disc-shaped electric motor and power electronics, the overall weight of the new powerplant is claimed to undercut that of today’s unit. Additionally, the new powerplant’s weight is concentrated lower, which aids efforts to bring about a lower centre of gravity for the new model, theoretically improving its agility and body control. Further development plans for the next C63 4Matic include a new four-wheel drive system to provide a fully variable apportioning of power front to rear. This will allow AMG to engineer the new model with rear-wheel-drive properties in certain driving modes, much as with the larger E63 sibling. AMG CEO Tobias Moers told Autocar earlier this year that all next-generation AMG models will adopt this system, moving away from pure reardriven models due to customer demand for all-wheel drive. The decision to provide the C63 4Matic with four-cylinder power was apparently driven by Mercedes-Benz as part of rapidly escalating efforts to reduce fleet CO2 emissions while harnessing the engineering lessons pursued during the development of the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar.
  9. Mental health was already a concern for many Moroccans but the isolation and fear of the COVID-19 pandemic is making a bad situation worse. Rabat – October 10 is World Mental Health Day, a day to reflect on the heavy toll of mental health issues for millions in Morocco, and billions around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for a “massive scale-up” of funding for mental health services. Amid a global COVID-19 crisis, a focus on mental health is more important than ever, according to the WHO. Raising awareness The WHO has launched a digital stress management guide through social media. The Whatsapp messenger application is being used to share a guide that is based on the principles of “Doing what matters in times of stress,” the WHO’s stress management guide. It provides self-help advice in several languages to help people cope with mental health issues in these tumultuous times. WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus hosts the “Big Event for Mental Health” to raise awareness about the issue. Athletes and artists will feature in the virtual event, where they are asked to share their personal experiences with mental health issues. Several national and international leaders are scheduled to speak during the event to urge for a reprioritization of mental health disorders within national healthcare structures. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and several others will speak on the need for quality mental health care in a time of unprecedented economic and societal uncertainty due to COVID-19. COVID-19 and mental health The impact of the COVID-19 crisis has seen mental health services disrupted at a time when they are most needed. Already in May, a study in Ethiopia reported a 3-fold increase in symptoms of depression compared to before the pandemic. Healthcare workers are at particular risk of increasing mental health issues. Frontline healthcare workers in China found that roughly half of them reported depression, with 45% reporting anxiety and 34% of suffering from insomnia. This global problem requires strong government action to prevent escalating rates of depression and suicide, according to the WHO. While previous World Mental Health Day’s focused on awareness on particular issues such as suicide prevention or workplace mental health, this year’s event is targetted directly at government decision-makers. In a press release on August 27, the WHO stated that mental health is “one of the most neglected areas of public health.” Less than a quarter of people struggling with mental health in low and middle-income countries receive adequate treatment. With 75% of people struggling with mental health issues not receiving any treatment, however, governments are urged to rapidly scale-up this section of public health services. Mental health in Morocco The prevalence of mental health issues has been on the rise long before the COVID-19 crisis. In 2017, half of all Moroccans were estimated to suffer from mental or psychological disorders, according to the Ministry of health. In 2018, then-minister of health Anas Doukkali introduced an action plan following reports that 40% of Moroccans suffered from mental health disorders, 26% suffered from depression, and 1% had schizophrenia. Mental health issues have a painful impact on society. In 2019, Morocco reported the highest rate of female suicide in North Africa, showing the gendered nature of the problem. Yet mental health issues have proven hard to stop in today’s high-stress world. Amid rising rates of depression and suicide, the COVID-19 crisis has dealt a significant blow to efforts to reduce the impact of mental health. The Lancet has shown that mental health is currently worsened by enforced lockdowns, the threat of infection, social isolation and economic uncertainty. “Many people who previously thought themselves unaffected by mental health issues have discovered that they, too, are vulnerable,” the scientific publication stated. Depression, stress, and anxiety disorders are serious issues that require rapid and ambitious action before the consequences of a mental health crisis materialize. The WHO recommends that governments invest in mental health facilities to address this issue before the problem grows even further.

  12. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 Founders Edition graphics cards are no longer being sold via the company’s own online store, and instead retail partners will be selling these GPUs. In an unprecedented move caused by all the stock issues around these graphics cards, Founders Edition models are now being sold directly by Best Buy in the US, rather than from the Nvidia site. Check out our in-depth Nvidia RTX 3080 review And these are all the best PC games We'll show you how to build a PC Nvidia said in a statement: “We have heard your feedback regarding the Nvidia online store and are working to improve the experience. “In the meantime, we will be selling our GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition through other partners. In the US, you can shop for Founders Edition at Best Buy – GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090. In Europe, we continue to review Founders Edition fulfillment options.” At the moment, then, the only option for those in the US is Best Buy, and European customers are pretty much out of luck it seems – there’s seemingly no way to get a Founders Edition card in Europe right now. Nvidia clarified: “Founders Edition units are limited, and more will be available in the coming weeks alongside an increasing supply of boards from our global board partners.” The fact that stock is still being described as ‘limited’ – and it clearly is, with the likes of bots and scalpers swooping in when GPU inventory does turn up – doesn’t exactly fill you with hope for the near future. Of course, Nvidia has already admitted that stock issues will persist until 2021. Jaded gamers As you might imagine, following this move, much of the reaction online has become even more disappointed and jaded around the RTX 3000 launch. European punters are certainly unhappy that they appear to have no option right now for getting hold of the Founders Edition. Nvidia’s card is a well-made product and is also po[CENSORED]r because third-party graphics card offerings can ramp up the price considerably, obviously depending on exactly what model you’re looking at. For the RTX 3080, there are options pitched at the same price as the Founders Edition in the US (and at least close to that price tag in the UK, if something like £50 more), such as the Asus TUF 3080 and MSI Ventus, but the majority of GPUs out there cost more (and in some cases a lot more). Predictably, given AMD just teased Big Navi – and it looks promising – there are a number of folks out there who seem to be getting rather fed up and saying they will take their custom elsewhere. Particularly if AMD can deliver on its promise of having a substantial amount of stock of its next-gen RX 6000 graphics cards. And there’s no small amount of frustration with Nvidia that it hasn’t yet managed to resolve the problems with GPU sales via its site, with some punters pointing to EVGA, which as we’ve seen has at least made an effort to overcome the admittedly thorny issues around scalpers grabbing all the cards (by using a queue system). Nvidia said in its statement that it’s working on improvements for the online store experience, so hopefully we’ll see the fruit of those labors soon enough. 13. Editor’s Note This review was written using a pre-release version of the case. Cooler Master later sent the final version of this case and we have updated our review to reflect the version which will be available for purchase. Cooler Master, known for their PC accessories has branched out via crowdfunding to create its first case designed for the Raspberry Pi 4. The Pi Case 40 is the product of this campaign and it embodies a strong robust aluminum case surrounded by a TPU bumper that offers shock protection. Cooler Master’s case provides passive cooling that a Raspberry Pi 4 needs, while offering the protection that it deserves, along with a VESA bracket for mounting your Pi to the back of a monitor. Available later this year for an undisclosed price (early kickstarter backers paid £23), the Cooler Master Pi Case 40 has a design that’s more attractive than many of the best Raspberry Pi cases, but it has one major drawback: its GPIO passthrough reverses the pinout, preventing you from using any of the best Raspberry Pi HATs. Design of the Cooler Master Pi Case 40 There is no denying that the Cooler Master Pi Case 40 looks and feels good. Measuring 3.7 x 2.6 x 1.5 inches (95 x 67 x 38mm) and made from high grade aluminum with a TPU bumper for protection this space grey colored case is practical in design. We have access to all of the ports on the Raspberry Pi 4, protected by the TPU bumper but still within easy reach. The only exception is the microSD card slot (see our list of best Raspberry Pi microSD cards) which has a flap covering the card and requiring the use of fingernails / tweezers to retrieve your card. The underside of the Pi Case 40 is made from a semi-transparent plastic. Cooler Master has designed it in this manner so that enthusiasts can replace the base using custom 3D printed parts. Building the Cooler Master Pi Case 40 The Pi Case 40 is a breeze to build. Just follow the instructions printed on the inside of the box and you are done. The included thermal pad is used to ensure that the CPU makes good contact with the case. The PCIe and power circuitry do not make contact with the case. Remember to route your camera / display cable via the slot in the case. Before securing the case screws, if you plan to mount the Pi Case 40 onto a monitor then now is the time to attach the four brackets and secure them in place. Using the Pi Case 40 In general use the Pi Case 40 works well. It looks great on the desk and the rubber feet stop the case skidding around as we unplug devices. Access to all of the ports was easy and they genuinely felt well protected via the TPU bumper.
  14. The suspect was also allegedly in illegal possession of firearms. Meknes – Morocco’s police in the city of Laayoune arrested on Friday a man with alleged links to an international drug trafficking network. Security services also apprehended the 53-year-old suspect for illegal possession of firearms. The General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) provided the information that enabled the suspect’s arrest to police in Laayoune. Search operations led to the seizure of 959 kilograms of cannabis resin, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). Security services found the drugs concealed in 38 packages in Boukraa, approximately 140 kilometers from Laayoune. A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is the subject of a national search warrant. He was allegedly involved with a criminal network that Moroccan security services dismantled in Laayoune in June 2019. The operation aborted the trafficking of 5.894 tonnes of cannabis resin. It also included the seizure of a Kalashnikov and 66 ammunition cartridges, said DGSN. Police put the suspect in custody. An investigation will aim to determine all potential ramifications of the case and to identify all of the suspect’s criminal acts. Morocco’s security services are working hard to abort all activities that involve drug trafficking. The country has intensified its efforts. A recent operation against drug trafficking took place on September 22 when Morocco’s police seized 1.992 tonnes of cannabis resin in Casablanca. An earlier intervention of security services led to the seizure of 4,260 Rivotril-type psychotropic pills on October 4 in the same city.

  16. What is it? Ford's electrification efforts may not kick into high gear until the 2021 launch of the Mustang Mach-e, but it continues to add mild-hybrid power to its model line-up in the meantime. The Fiesta is the latest to receive battery assistance, joining the Puma and Focus with a 48V architecture that promises to bring modest fuel and emissions savings to the (already rather efficient) 1.0-litre three-pot Ecoboost petrol engine. It's a familiar set-up, with a belt-driven starter motor feeding in extra torque courtesy of a small lithium ion battery that relies entirely on regenerative braking to charge itself. This combination cuts down on turbo lag, lets the stop/start system activate while coasting below 15mph and makes acceleration that little bit peppier. It has also allowed Ford to add a larger turbocharger and lower the engine's compression ratio, for what it claims are 5% efficiency gains over a non-hybrid engine. The battery introduces only a minor weight penalty, so performance remains largely unchanged, with 0-62mph in 9.4sec and a top speed of 126mph. There's a slightly nippier 153bhp version that dips under nine seconds, but neither can be had with an automatic transmission. Mild-hybrid power arrives as part of a wider update for 2020, which sees all Fiestas with Cross Traffic Alert gain active braking, and ST-Line models like our test car get a perpendicular park function for the active park assist. The optional B&O Play sound system also has its subwoofer relocated, so you no longer have to choose between banging tunes and a bit more boot space. What's it like? Subtle exterior badges aside, there’s little to differentiate this Fiesta from any other version. The presence of a battery makes no impact on rear leg room or luggage capacity, and only a back-to-back drive with the outgoing model would reveal any impact on ride quality caused by the minor weight gain. The function-over-fashion interior isn't as minimal as some rivals, with plenty of physical buttons and switches instead of everything being relegated to the infotainment touchscreen - but that's hardly a criticism in our book. A new set of icons on the instrument cluster, which highlight when the motor is recuperating energy under braking, or dishing it out under acceleration, are the only clue to what's going on under the bonnet. The former is handy, because the Fiesta disguises its regenerative efforts very well indeed. The brakes are a lot less grabby than the ones on Suzuki’s mild-hybrid Swift, gradually stripping off speed and encouraging you to coast from further back as you approach traffic queues - something you’ll need to do frequently if you want to match Ford’s WLTP-tested fuel economy figures. The stop/start system is also very smooth and it's quick to react when it’s time to get moving again. Electrical assistance arrives from low revs and is blended to match the engine’s torque curve under gentle acceleration, which helps the throttle feel that bit more responsive at slower speeds. It’s not seamless and off-boost acceleration can sometimes be lacking, but only momentarily. Switch to Sport mode and things sharpen up, the battery combining with turbo overboost in the higher gears to make for satisfying progress. The three-pot retains its thrummy, characterful exhaust note, and the six-speed gearbox has the same slick shift action we’ve come to expect from the Fiesta. Precisely weighted controls inspire confidence and help you make the most of the available power. It remains just as enjoyable to drive as any other Fiesta, with responsive steering, plenty of grip and a fantastic chassis that rewards keen drivers. And although the 18in alloy wheels fitted to our ST Line X test car do have an impact on ride comfort, only the worst road surfaces properly announce their presence in the cabin. Back to top Should I buy one? Traditional engine options haven’t been completely stripped from the line-up just yet, so it’s not like anyone set on Fiesta ownership has no choice in the matter. And the efficiency gains, however welcome, are only minor - but this mild-hybrid model now feels like the sweet spot in terms of price and performance. A fully equipped Toyota Yaris Launch Edition will set you back slightly less up front and will return better fuel economy, but it lags behind the Ford for interior refinement and driver engagement - as do mild-hybrid alternatives like the Fiat 500 and Suzuki Swift. A Renault Clio E-tech might come close on the dynamism front, but the Ford should be near the top of the list for keen drivers who are at least considering how to keep their environmental impact in check.
  17. Gmail Go is available to download now Using Gmail on your phone is set to be a lot kinder on battery life and performance thanks to a new launch from Google. The company has quietly released Gmail Go, a low-scale version of its po[CENSORED]r email service, for all Android users to download on the Play Store now. The new, "lighter" version of Gmail should offer a more user-friendly experience for those with older or less powerful smartphones, toning down the CPU and battery life demands of the full app. Check out our list of the best Microsoft Office alternatives around Office 365 vs G Suite: What's the best office software? Here's our list of the best productivity tools on the market Gmail Go Google snuck out the release under the radar, so it's tricky at first to identify exactly what sets Gmail Go apart from its bigger brother. Its posting on the Play Store describes the new service as "the Gmail you love, now lighter and just as fast". Google has a range of "Go" branded apps for many of its services, including Maps Go, Gallery Go, and Google Go, along with others which are limited to only certain devices, such as Assistant Go and YouTube Go. The most obvious difference for Gmail Go is its logo, which features the word underneath the famous white-and-red envelope icon. The app still features 15GB of free storage, multiple account support across Gmail and non-Gmail addresses, and smart spam filters, so it may be that most of the key differences are hidden in the background. Along with some slight lag and darker text tones, the main noticeable difference, as spotted by 9to5Google, is the lack of a bottom bar in the app, meaning that the company's Google Meet video conferencing service has not been included. The news comes shortly after Google unveiled a major overhaul to G Suite, which has been rebranded as Google Workspace. The new suite features all of the company's core services - Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet etc. - but offers, according to Google, a more “deeply integrated user experience”, with improved interoperability of its various productivity services, blurring the lines between each product for a more fluid feel.
