  2. Best deals on laptops from around the internet. The 2020 holiday season is upon us. This year's been full of surprises, including a mass shift to remote work for much of the world. For many people now hunkering down in their homes, finding the best gaming laptops or best ultrabooks has become crucial for both productivity and staying sane through entertainment. 3. Early Black Friday gaming laptop deals are still available today at Best Buy. Originally posted last week, we spotted this beast of a Ryzen 9 equipped Asus Zephyrus for just $1,199 (was $1,449.99) and we're still eyeing it up right now. The Asus Zephyrus G14 is currently ranked our best gaming laptop so we're always on the hunt for the best offers on this particularly awesome little machine. This is actually the lowest price we've seen this spec go for, and it's a fantastic deal considering you're getting one of the most powerful laptops on the market for a fraction of the price of a new Alienware. The AMD Ryzen 9-4900HS is a particular highlight in this spec, meaning you're not only getting a processor capable of excellent gaming performance, but also with plenty of grunt for productivity tasks. An RTX 2060 graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and a lavish 1TB SSD round out the specs here to make one extremely fast laptop capable of running even the most demanding games at high settings and 1080p resolution. Unfortunately for those on a budget, you've also just missed a similar deal on the baseline spec model, which was going for just $899 last week. We actually didn't think this one was quite as good value as the upgraded spec version, although it's still an extremely capable gaming laptop all around. If you did want to snag yourself that cheaper version, we'd bet money that it'll crop up again in next month's official Black Friday deals so fingers crossed you won't have long to wait. If you're eying up the upgraded spec that's still on sale right now, however, don't feel like you have to wait - Best Buy has guaranteed it won't go any lower come November. Not in the US? Check out the best gaming laptop deals in your region below. Want to do a little bit more reading? Check out our dedicated best Asus Zephyrus G14 prices and deals article for a full breakdown of this awesome machine. If you need something cheaper, also recommended is our best cheap gaming laptop deals article, where prices start at just $629.

  6. The BBC commentator attempted to clarify his words without success, so decided instead to terminate his account BBC Match of the Day commentator Guy Mowbray has been forced to delete his Twitter account after an angry reaction to his comments about Marcus Rashford. Rashford has been widely praised for his campaign to fight child hunger in the UK, with his efforts sparking a country-wide effort to ensure children will have access to free food during the upcoming school holidays. The Red Devils striker was critical of the UK Government earlier this week as a vote to extend free school meals over the holidays until Easter 2021 was defeated. Though the motion failed, a number of businesses vowed on Friday to step up and provide free meals over the holidays – with Rashford retweeting many of the offers and including the location of the businesses. Rashford was equally successful with his efforts on the pitch in midweek, with the 22-year-old scoring a late winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday. Mowbray reflected on the events of the previous seven days during his commentary of United’s goalless draw against Chelsea on Saturday. "He didn't get a win in parliament, but he got the winner in Paris,” Mowbray said. "And whether you agree with Marcus Rashford's causes or not, there's surely only admiration for his continued commitment.” Mowbray’s comments were perceived by some as questioning whether fighting child hunger was a worthy cause. After a significant backlash, Mowbray attempted to clarify his comments, saying he was referring to the political elements of Rashford’s cause, given he was commentating for a state broadcaster and needed to comply with impartiality rules. With the angry reaction failing to subside, Mowabray opted to release a statement before deleting his account. "I really think it is time to go now,” he said. "Disturbing getting hounded by people whose view of a situation is in reality the same as mine. "Impartiality broadcast rules mean things have to be phrased a certain way. “I tried to do that, having checked my original words in the morning with the programme editors. "I had to change them - it’s in the political arena so balance (however strange that may seem with some topics) is paramount. "The first things I said were purely factual. "The latter was wholesome praise of someone fighting a noble cause. That’s it. Couldn’t have done anymore. Shouldn’t have done any less.”

  7. Fez-Meknes reported only 33 new cases on Sunday, likely a welcome figure for the formerly hard-hit region. Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Health recorded 3,020 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the country’s total confirmed cases to 197,481. Active cases stand at 30,985 and 743 patients are in severe or critical condition. The ministry also announced 46 new deaths and 2,823 recoveries. Morocco’s COVID-19-related death toll is 3,301, while 163,195 people have recovered from the virus. The country’s fatality rate is 1.7% while the recovery rate is 82.6%. Since March 2, labs throughout the country have conducted more than 3.19 million tests for COVID-19. Of this sum, more than three million came back negative. In the past 24 hours, labs produced 18,348 negative COVID-19 tests. Morocco’s COVID-19 cases by region Casablanca-Settat maintained its usual lead, confirming 1,090 cases and seven deaths on Sunday. The majority of cases (690) emerged in the city of Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital, followed by Mohammedia (103) and Settat (82). Casablanca also recorded six deaths; the remaining death was in El Jadida. Rabat-Sale-Kenitra followed with 726 new cases and 10 deaths in 24 hours. The majority of the new cases were in Skhirat-Temara (170), Sale (163), Kenitra (151), and Rabat (80). The Oriental confirmed 270 cases, a relatively high figure for the eastern Moroccan region, as well as seven deaths. Oujda-Angad accounted for 125 of the new cases. Souss-Massa, home to the tourist hub Agadir, confirmed 227 new cases and two deaths. Most of the cases (108) were in Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane. The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region counted 216 new cases and three deaths. Tetouan accounted for 80 of the new cases. In Marrakech-Safi, health authorities recorded 148 cases of COVID-19 and four deaths. The city of Marrakech accounted for the vast majority of cases (112) while the remaining cities in the region each recorded fewer than 20. Beni Mellal-Khenifra, central Morocco, reported 106 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths. The Draa-Tafilalet region closely followed with 105 cases and three deaths. Morocco’s southern regions, as well as Fez-Meknes, each recorded fewer than 100 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra counted 54 cases and one death and Guelmim-Oued Noun reported 35 cases and no deaths. Fez-Meknes reported even fewer, totaling 33 new cases in what is likely a welcome change for the formerly hard-hit region. However, the region recorded four deaths. Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab reported only 10 new cases and no deaths.

  10. A power supply that's worthy of your money, with high performance and low noise output. The Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 750 power supply achieves high performance in almost all areas, and on top of that, it is highly efficient. Its overall performance score is high, but it cannot threaten units like the Corsair HX750 and the po[CENSORED]r Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum with similar capacity. Nonetheless, when it comes to efficiency, the Thermaltake offering loses only to the more expensive Seasonic Prime Platinum, having a notable difference from the Focus Plus Platinum 750 and an even larger from the Corsair HX750. With a longer hold-up time and even lower ripple on the minor rails, the PF1 750 could earn a place in our best PSU picks. The Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 line consists of three units with capacities ranging from 650W to 850W. All are 80 PLUS Platinum certified. Cybenetics has also certified them as ETA-A (efficiency), LAMBDA-A, and LAMBDA-A- (noise output). In this review, we will take a look at the middle member of the family, the PF1 with 750W max power. Like all other PF1 models, it is fully modular and has super-compact dimensions, thanks to the 140mm depth. Lastly, it uses a hydraulic bearing fan, which can offer high airflow if required. Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 750W at Amazon for $159.99 The OEM behind Thermaltake's PF1 models is HKC, which is mostly known for its affordable products. During our test sessions, we will determine whether HKC can meet the performance levels of the competition in this high-end category. It won't be easy since it has to face strong competition, including the Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum, Corsair HX750, FSP HPT750M Hydro, and other products. Nonetheless, it is always nice to see new products, and new manufacturers, in this category at least, enter the game.

  11. MITRE Corporation and tech giants release framework to keep us safe from futuristic AI threat Anyone worried about the threat of a Skynet-esque rise of the machines may be able to rest a little easier after the release of new protective measures designed to avoid a potential AI uprising. The nonprofit MITRE Corporation has teamed up with 12 top technology companies, including the likes of Microsoft, IBM and Nvidia to launch the Adversarial ML Threat Matrix. The group says the system is an open framework created to help security analysts spot, alert, respond to and address threats targeting machine learning (ML) systems. Our pick of the best cloud computing servces around today Here's the best workstations for all your power PC needs The best cloud management software choice's we've found ML Matrix Microsoft says the release was motivated by a continuing growth in the number of attacks against commercial ML sytems around the world. The company surveyed a selection of 28 major businesses, finding that almost all are still unaware of the threat that adversarial machine learning can pose, with twenty-five out of the 28 saying that they don’t have the right tools in place to secure their ML systems. The Matrix contains a number of past vulnerabilities and adversary behaviours spotted by Microsoft and MITRE over the years, as well as a whole host of Microsoft's expertise in the security sector. "We also found that when attacking an ML system, attackers use a combination of “traditional techniques” like phishing and lateral movement alongside adversarial ML techniques," Microsoft said in a blog post. The Adversarial ML Threat Matrix GitHub repository is open now for businesses interested in learning more. “When it comes to Machine Learning security, the barriers between public and private endeavors and responsibilities are blurring; public sector challenges like national security will require the cooperation of private actors as much as public investments," noted Mikel Rodriguez, Director of Machine Learning Research, MITRE. "So, in order to help address these challenges, we at MITRE are committed to working with organizations like Microsoft and the broader community to identify critical vulnerabilities across the machine learning supply chain. This framework is a first step in helping to bring communities together to enable organizations to think about the emerging challenges in securing machine learning systems more holistically.” Keep your systems secure with the best endpoint protection services around

  14. Manchester United's struggles at home continued as they drew 0-0 with Chelsea, making it five without a win in the league at OId Trafford. Edinson Cavani made his debut off the bench as Manchester United's home struggles continued with a dour 0-0 draw against Chelsea in an underwhelming Premier League clash at a rainy Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata had the best of the first-half chances but were unable to get the better of Edouard Mendy, the latter's attempt coming after Harry Maguire contentiously avoided conceding a penalty for a clumsy challenge on Cesar Azpilicueta. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent on Cavani before the hour mark and the 33-year-old striker, who was signed as a free agent on deadline day, almost scored with his first touch for United. Neither side was able to find a winner, with Chelsea sitting sixth in the table and United 15th, though they are only separated by two points. So close to an instant impact! @ECavaniOfficial #MUFC #MUNCHE pic.twitter.com/QQlzlHcGgp — Manchester United (@ManUtd) October 24, 2020 After a sluggish opening half an hour, the highlight of which was Mendy almost passing the ball into his own goal, the game finally came to life in the final 10 minutes of the opening period. Mendy recovered from his earlier error by using his foot to keep out a low drive from Rashford, before springing to his right to push a curling attempt from Mata behind. Those shots came either side of Azpilicueta – who featured on the right side of a three-man defence – appealing for a penalty when Maguire climbed over him, while Thiago Silva went unpunished for clipping Rashford in the area in the 41st minute. Mata and Daniel James were sacrificed for Paul Pogba and debutant Cavani, who narrowly missed out on making an immediate impact when he flicked Bruno Fernandes' cross into the side-netting. Mason Greenwood returned for United as a late substitute and Mendy produced another stunning save to deny Rashford, who produced the first and only shot on target of the second half in stoppage time. What does it mean? No home comforts United recovered from their 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham in their previous Premier League home game by winning at Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain over the past week. However, their draw with Chelsea means they are now winless in five league games at Old Trafford, their worst such run since February 1990. Mendy making a difference With Kepa Arrizabalaga having committed an error leading to a goal in each of his three Premier League appearances this season, Mendy provided some greater resilience with two impressive saves in the first half and one at the death. He still needs time to improve with his feet, though, having almost scored an own goal beforehand. He may have produced a team-high six clearances and gained possession eight times, but Maguire was fortunate not to concede a penalty for his challenge on Azpilicueta in the first half. What's next? Chelsea travel to Russia to face Krasnodar in the Champions League on Wednesday, when United welcome last season's semi-finalists RB Leipzig to Old Trafford.

  16. When you're designing your battlestation, you've obviously factored in for one of the best gaming PCs with all of the parts you chose, as well as monitors, peripherals and, if you didn't have one, a desk. Oh, and you'll need a chair. If you get a really cheap one, you may not be comfortable. For some streaming cred, you might go with a racing-style gaming chair. But now there's a luxury option. Herman Miller, known for premium ergonomic office furniture, got into the... gaming game this year, with a $1,495 collaboration with Logitech G. The Herman Miller X Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair is the priciest gaming chair we've ever tested, and eschews much of the gamer styling that you often see, in favor of more subtle aesthetics -- indeed, it's practically identical to Herman Miller's Embody chair meant for offices. There are a few twists for extra comfort for long gaming sessions. But ultimately, the Embody is a very expensive, very comfortable gaming chair. For many, the price will be the point that stops them in the tracks. But regardless, the Embody shows what a gaming chair could -- and arguably should -- be: something focused on comfort and performance, rather than a gaming status symbol. The Herman Miller X Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair (which I’ll refer to as the Embody from here on out) looks like a chair I’ve seen before, but like no gaming chair I’ve ever seen before. Specifically, it doesn’t have the throne-style, racing seat aesthetic seen on gaming chairs used by streamers on Twitch or by many professional esports players. There’s no head pillow, lumbar pillows, no massive logos, and no black pleather. No, the Embody looks like a very modern office chair. That’s because it is largely the same as an existing Herman Miller chair by the same name. There are a ton of similarities: The gaming chair has the same backrest that reduces in width as it hits the top, while the back has a spine and a series of supports that look like ribs. It sits on a sturdy aluminum base with five wheels designed for either hard floors or carpets The chair doesn’t scream “gaming.” The more aggressive aesthetics are still quite subtle. There are some imprints in the foam on the seat and backrest that give the slight impression of something metal, like a tank tread or a Power Rangers Dragonzord. There’s a small Logitech G logo at the top of the backrest, but it’s the same color as the fabric. The back of the chair uses a flexible, dark cyan plastic, the same color as the adjustment buttons that you’ll find under the arm rests and on the lever to raise and lower the chair. When combined with the dark grays found everywhere else on the chair, it matches the colors you find on many of Logitech’s G-series gaming peripherals. There’s also a parachute tag on the back with the Logitech G and Herman Miller logos. All of the materials feel premium. The majority of the frame is aluminum, though there is still some plastic, which keeps the chair light. The seat is covered in polyester that Herman Miller claims is tested for durability, seam strength, color retention and flame resistance. (I never thought about my chair catching fire before this.) I worry a bit about keeping it clean, if only because the fabric would be more difficult to wipe down than the pleather you feel on gaming chairs. Perhaps the one place that could obviously be improved are the armrests. While I found the foam to be comfortable, for $1,495, leather armrests would have been appreciated, though they may have clashed with the rest of the chair. Unlike many gaming chairs, the Embody comes assembled straight out of the box. All I had to do was open the (very sizable) packaging, tear off some protective plastic and adjust the chair to my liking.
