ISRO's commercial arm, NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) on Friday announced its first "demand-driven" communication satellite mission as part of Space reforms announced by the Government in June last year. NSIL, incorporated in March 2019, got mandated to undertake operational satellite missions on a “demand-driven” model, wherein it has the responsibility to build, launch, own and operate the satellite and provide services to its committed customer. As part of this initiative, NSIL, a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), under the Department of Space (DOS), is now undertaking its "1st demand driven communication satellite mission” named GSAT-24, a four-tonne class Ku- band satellite. NSIL is getting this satellite built by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) and will be launching it using Ariane-5 launcher operated by Arianespace. "The entire satellite capacity on-board GSAT-24 will be leased to its committed customer M/s Tata Sky for meeting their DTH application needs," an NSIL statement said. NSIL said it has entered into a necessary agreement with Tata Sky for utilising the satellite capacity on-board GSAT-24 and with Arianespace for seeking the launch services. GSAT-24 satellite will be owned and operated by NSIL on a commercial basis. The GSAT-24 satellite mission will be fully funded by NSIL. NSIL is envisaging the launch of GSAT-24 satellite during first quarter of 2022, it was stated.

The Windows 11 requirements have caused some debate over the last few weeks, but if you were looking forward to updating to the new operating system on an enterprise device. A survey from Lansweeper that gathered data from around 30 million PCs across 60,000 organizations has discovered that the majority of devices don't meet the system requirements set by Microsoft for its upcoming Windows 11 browser. As reported by Neowin, the Windows 11 Readiness Audit revealed that over 55% don't use a supported CPU to run the OS, with an additional 19% of laptops and PCs surveyed failing to meet the controversial TPM 2.0 requirement. How to speed up Windows 10 on your PC Find out where to buy Windows 10 How to download Windows 11 right now Secure, but exclusionary The strict system requirements for the upcoming Windows 11 operating system due for public release on October 5 have been discussed extensively after an early version of the PC Health Check app (that allowed users to quickly check if their device was Windows 11 ready) rejected even high-spec systems with very little clarification. The app has since been updated, with the main culprit responsible for the majority of compatibility issues revealed to be a lack of a TPM 2.0 module. Microsoft has argued that the requirements for Windows 11 are in place for security reasons, but this has still made many folks who were looking forward to upgrading irate, and will especially cause issues for companies and organizations who were looking to roll out the Windows 11 update across devices used by staff. Unless companies are planning to distribute new laptops and PCs with Windows 11 preinstalled, chances are you won't be getting Microsoft's latest OS on your work devices any time soon, which is disappointing, as enterprises and large organizations are likely to be the customers who want to prioritize security. Thankfully, Windows 10 will receive support and updates until 2025 so there's no need for a scramble to buy up new office equipment, but Microsoft is firmly putting the responsibility of security onto it's customers by mandating such lofty hardware requirements. Windows 11 system requirements On Microsoft’s page for Windows 11, you can find a new section toward the bottom that will download the latest PC Health Check App that should provide you with all the information you need prior to upgrading to the new OS. If you want to know the minimum requirements without downloading the app, you need a device with the following: 64-bit processor 4GB of RAM 64GB drive 1Ghz clock speed UEFI, Secure Boot capable TPM 2.0 A display larger than 9-inches with HD Resolution (1366x768) DirectX 12 compatible graphics / WDDM 2.x Internet connection for Windows 11 Home Is there a workaround in place to use Windows 11? Microsoft has made it clear that if you proceed with installing Windows 11 on a device that doesn't meet the system requirements, it's likely that you won't receive updates and future support will be dropped. In some cases, you might also have to sign a waiver that asks you to acknowledge that all damages to your PC due to a lack of compatibility will not be covered under your manufacturer's warranty. That said, there are ways to access Windows 11 mon an incompatable device if you're feeling a bit naughty. Earlier this week we reported that a GitHub project is available contains a script called 'Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update.cmd,' which will allow the Windows 11 installer to ignore if your system doesn't have a TPM 2.0, which appears to be the most common reason for device incompatibility. The script doesn't just remove the TPM 2.0 limitation, but can also force the installer to ignore other issues that don't meet the system requirements, such as available storage space, though it's unlikely your employer will be happy for you to try this route given its risks. This isn't Microsoft's first rodeo The response to previous Windows OS releases has always been a mixed bag, so regardless of the reviews that will start coming in on October 5, Microsoft will likely weather the storm. That said, Windows 11 will be particularly exclusionary thanks to its strict system requirements and many current Windows 10 users may not realize that their device isn't up to scratch, even if it's a recent purchase. It'll be interesting to see the public reaction to the full, official release as most surveys have focused on interest regarding the upgrade rather than eligibility. Previous operating system releases like Windows Vista are memorable for being poorly received, but Windows 11 might have the largest compatibility issue for users yet. The fix, of course, is time, and with just under five years of support for Windows 10 left, it seems that Microsoft is happy to wait for its customers to upgrade by buying new devices with the OS pre-installed or manually upgrade their existing systems, rather than compromise on its security promises. If you're desperate to try out Windows 11 then there are unofficial workarounds, but for those playing it safe, you'll have to wait until you can buy yourself a shiny new laptop or PC.

It would be nice if every display was calibrated exactly the same way straight from the factory, but the reality is that even though default color profiles are much better than they were a few years ago, taking the time to adjust a few settings can give your screen a little bit more “pop.” Windows 11 and 10 have a built-in app that can help simplify this process. It won’t offer the same results as professional calibration tools, but it should at least be an improvement over the default settings. (It’s also much cheaper; professional calibration products can be quite expensive.) Here’s how to calibrate your screen in Windows 11 or 10, without breaking the bank. Note that our screenshots come from Windows 11, but the steps are the same in the prior operating system. 1. Open the ‘Calibrate display color’ page in Control Panel. This is most easily done by searching for “Calibrate” in the Start menu and selecting “Calibrate display color” from the results. Otherwise you’ll have to navigate Settings by going to System > Display > Advanced display and then click “Display adapter properties for [Your Display]” then go to Color Management > Color Management > Advanced before clicking the “Calibrate display” button. Searching for the appropriate page is much quicker, in our experience. 2. Move the window to the appropriate display and click ‘Next’. This won’t be an issue on single-monitor setups, but if you have multiple monitors, you’ll have to drag the window to the display you want to calibrate before you can begin the process. Once the window appears on the appropriate display, you can click the “Next” button. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions or click ‘Next’. Windows will helpfully explain that you can manage your display settings on most monitors by pressing some kind of menu button. If you can’t modify those settings to your liking, just click the “Next” button. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions and click ‘Next’. The app will start by having you adjust your screen’s gamma settings. Three boxes should appear, showing you what it looks like if your gamma is set too low, if it’s set too high, and if it’s set just right. Once you understand the instructions it’s safe to click the “Next” button. 5. Adjust your gamma settings. A slider on the left side of the window should allow you to change your gamma settings by dragging it up or down. (You can also click the “Reset” button to move it right back to the default value.) Once you have something that looks like the correct setting, go ahead and click the “Next” button. 6. Decide if you want to adjust brightness and contrast. Windows offers to allow you to adjust your brightness and contrast settings if those options are available to you on your monitor. If they aren’t, you can click the “Skip brightness and contrast adjustment” button. Otherwise click the “Next” button to continue with the calibration. 7. Follow the on-screen instructions and click the ‘Next’ button. This time Windows should explain how adjusting the brightness settings works. After you read the explanation you can click the “Next” button to move on to the actual adjustment. 8. Adjust your brightness settings on your monitor. Windows doesn’t offer any on-screen controls for this; you’ll have to adjust the settings on your monitor while using the provided image as a reference. Click the “Next” button when you’re done. 9. Follow the on-screen instructions and click the ‘Next’ button. Now you should see Windows’ explanation for how adjusting the contrast settings works. After you read the explanation you can click the “Next” button to move on to the actual adjustment. 10. Adjust your contrast settings on your monitor. Windows once again doesn’t offer any on-screen controls for this; you’ll adjust the settings on your monitor directly based on how the reference image looks. Click the “Next” button when you’re done. 11. Follow the on-screen instructions and click the ‘Next’ button. Windows should now explain how color balance settings work. Read them and click the “Next” button. 12. Adjust the sliders as required. This time Windows will offer not one but three sliders you can drag to adjust the amount of red, green, and blue shown in the gray bars. Remember the bars are supposed to be gray; seeing any tint means the colors aren’t balanced correctly. Click the “Next” button when you’re done. 13. Compare your new settings to your old ones. Display Color Calibration will now present you with two buttons: “Previous calibration” and “Current calibration”. You can click either one to make sure you like the changes you made. Clicking the “Finish” button enables the new calibration; clicking the “Cancel” button uses the old settings. Your screen is now calibrated! Windows 11 can’t handle everything, which is why the brightness and contrast sections are optional, but even adjusting the gamma and color balance settings can make a difference. Now you have a choice to make: Move on to the ClearType Tuner, which changes how text is displayed, or leave all these display settings aside so you can use your newly calibrated monitor to look at something other than display management tools.

Intel provided the hardware world with a thorough breakdown on Alder Lake at the chipmaker's Architecture Day 2021. However, Intel didn't touch on the topic of the integrated graphics that will accompany Alder Lake. Hardware detective Komachi_Ensaka has sniffed out a new coreboot patch that gives us a small look at the iGPUs inside the mobile Alder Lake chips. It's important to note that Alder Lake-M isn't the best performing mobile chip in Intel's lineup. A previous coreboot update reportedly showed that Intel may segment mobile Alder Lake into four categories. The Alder Lake-M is at the bottom of the stack with a 9W TDP and a maximum configuration with two performance (Golden Cove) cores and eight efficiency (Gracemont) cores. For Alder Lake, Intel ported the Gen12 Xe LP graphics engine from Tiger Lake to the new Intel 7 process. According to the latest code in coreboot, Intel may only stick with the GT1 unit for desktop Alder Lake-S processors. The GT1 solution wields 32 execution units (EUs), which are now called Vector Engines. Alder Lake-M, however, could utilize up to three different iGPU solutions, depending on the model of the processor. The new coreboot references GT1, GT2 and GT3 units. We already know that GT1 is equipped with 32 EUs, which means that the GT2 and GT3 units should sport 96 EUs. The reasoning behind why the desktop Alder Lake processors only get the GT1 unit is because of the likelihood of consumers pairing the chips with discrete graphics cards. Mentions of the GT3 engine in coreboot may signal the return of Intel's Iris graphics, which is basically the higher-end version of the normal HD graphics. This is different from the Iris Pro or Iris Plus variants, though. Remember that Intel historically referred to the Iris Pro and Iris Plus graphics under the GT3e moniker. Intel will launch Alder Lake this Fall 2021. Nonetheless, the chipmaker didn't specify if it's releasing the desktop chips first with the mobile variants coming after or both in tandem. We will likely hear more about the heterogeneous processors at the Intel Innovation event, which the chipmaker is holding on October 27 and 28. “We have submitted evidence showing that the most common search query on Bing is by far Google. People use Google because they choose to, not because they are forced to. Google’s market share in general search is consistent with consumer surveys showing that 95% of users prefer Google to rival search engines.”

Users of Microsoft's search engine Bing are searching for “Google” more than any other search term according to a lawyer representing Google's parent company Alphabet in an EU antitrust case. As first reported by Bloomberg, lawyer and partner at the Brussels-based law firm Garrigues, Alfonso Lamadrid revealed that “Google” is the most common search term on Bing when trying to get Google's $5bn antitrust fine overturned. We've built a list of the best browsers available today These are the best Windows 10 VPN services on the market Also check out our roundup of the best anonymous browsers In a recent statement to an EU court, Lamadrid made the case that people use Google due to the convenience of its search engine and not because they're forced to, saying: Google vs Bing Back in 2018, Google was fined a record $5.1bn for abusing Android's dominant market position to drive more users to its search engine according to EU competition chief Margrethe Vestager. According to a blog post from the po[CENSORED]r SEO tool maker Ahrefs, “Google” took the top spot with over 40m searches on Bing worldwide in 2021 alone followed by “YouTube”, “Facebook”, “Gmail” and “Amazon”. Meanwhile in the US, “Google” was the third most searched for term on Bing so far this year. The most likely reason that Google is the most searched for term is due to the fact that Bing is the default search engine on both Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge. Windows users setting up a new laptop or desktop PC often use Microsoft's browser first before installing Google Chrome using their search engine of choice, Google Search. As to whether or not Lamadrid's argument will help Google get its $5bn EU fine overturned, that will be up to the case's judge to decide. We've also highlighted the best VPN services Via The Verge

Developer Turn 10 has released the PC specifications for Forza Horizon 5, revealing how much firepower you'll need to run the new racing game. Microsoft and Turn 10 list three spec sheets, including a minimum specification, recommended specification and ideal specification for playing the game. Thankfully, the spec sheets tell us Forza Horizon 5 can be played on a lot of older gaming machines with very low minimum requirements. However, to push everything to ultra, you'll need the latest hardware from AMD, Nvidia or Intel. The minimum requirements for the game include a Ryzen 3 1200 or Core i5-4460 for the processor, a Radeon RX 470 or GeForce GTX 970 graphics card, 8GB of RAM, and 110GB of hard disk space. These are pretty light system requirements for a game coming out in 2022. The only real problem is the 110GB space requirement which can take up most of a small SSD. Forza's recommended specifications increase the CPU requirements to hyperthreaded (or SMT) quad-core processors, including a Ryzen 5 1500X and Core i5-8400. For graphics, that gets increased to a Radeon RX 590 and GeForce GTX 1070, with memory getting bumped up to 16GB. This will be the spec sheet you want to pay attention to if you want an experience in Forza Horizon 5 that isn't plagued by poor detail and low frame rates. Luckily, these specs are also quite light, besides the fact that getting a graphics card is still impossible these days. But, if you have managed to grab an RX 590 or GTX 1070 or better, you are in very good shape to play. These days, getting a CPU that meets the requirement of a 1500X is very cheap, and so is buying a 16GB kit of RAM, whether it be for a desktop or laptop. However, if you want to play Forza Horizon 5 at the highest quality presets, that will require much better hardware. Forza's ideal spec requires an 8 core Ryzen 7 3800XT or Core i7-10700K for the CPU, and a Radeon RX 6800 XT or GeForce RTX 3080 for the graphics card. These requirements make a lot of sense with all the graphical upgrades Forza Horizon 5 offers. The biggest of them all is ray tracing support, which is probably why the GPU requirements are so high. Additionally, Forza Horizon 5 will also support 21:9 ultrawide displays natively which is ideal for cockpit racing. Microsoft also lists several racing wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec that will be supported from the start. Expect wheel support to grow in future updates. Logitech: Driving Force, G25, G27, G29, G920, G923PS, G923XB, Momo Thrustmaster: Ferrari 458, T150 RS, T300 RS, T500 RS, TMX, T-GT, TS-XW, TX, TS-PC Fanatec: V1, V2, V2.5, CSL, CSL DD, DD1, DD2, Universal HUB device Forza Horizon 5 will be available on November 9th from the Microsoft Store as well as Steam but can be pre-ordered today. Forza Horizon 5 will also be available on Xbox Series X and S and streamable from the Xbox Cloud Gaming platform, if you find your PC isn't up to the task.

Nayib Bukele, the President of El Salvador posted a 25-seconds long video that promises the “first steps” in Bitcoin mining. The footage showed glimpses of what reports speculate is a new volcanic geo-thermal Bitcoin mining facility being built in El Salvador, the world's first country to legalise Bitcoin as legal tender. Earlier in June this year, the Salvadoran government had asked geothermal electricity company LaGeo to map out a way to facilitate Bitcoin mining without causing harm to nature. Without revealing too many details, Bukele captioned the clip with a seemingly positive couple of words, “...First steps.” To mine or generate Bitcoins, miners have to solve complex mathematical equations via advanced computers. In June this year, the crypto-friendly Salvadoran President had shared the first image of the location where he intended to set up this Bitcoin mining centre. At the time, he had said that by installing Bitcoin mining facilities near the volcanos, mining will be very cheap and 100 percent clean. He had also shared the image of the same location, where his fresh tweet showed the setting up procedures being carried out. Bukele is not the only crypto-supporting region leader who is figuring ways to curb carbon footprint that comes along with Bitcoin mining. Earlier this week, Francis Suarez, the mayor of US' Miami town proposed setting up a Bitcoin-mining facility near a nuclear power plant in Florida state. As per news website Latest News Today, nuclear energy is on the brink of being recognised as a true environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) solution in terms of energy. The massive energy consumption required by mass-level crypto mining and its harmful impacts on the environment have been worrying many nations including China, Russia, and Morocco among others.

Microsoft looks to be redesigning more apps for Windows 11, with a Media Player application having been accidentally shown off during a video podcast. According to Windows Latest, the company was showcasing the Focus feature from the Clock app when another window appeared, showing the user interface for an app called Media Player. This may mean that Windows Media Player, last updated in 2012, may be about to return for Windows 11 when the upgrade arrives in October. How to speed up Windows 10 on your PC Find out where to buy Windows 10 How to download Windows 11 right now What does Media Player look like? he new app was shown during a Windows Insider webcast, now made private, which showcased a user interface that looked similar to Windows Media Player, but with the color scheme of the TV & Movies app that’s been available since Windows 8. Windows Media Player has been available to download since 2012 with minor updates, but it's been abandoned in favor of other applications with similar functions. But while there’s third-party choices such as VLC and KMPlayer, Microsoft has an opportunity to make Windows Media Player a staple for media apps on Windows. Analysis: the return of Windows Media Player? If you ever used Windows XP or a previous version, there’d be a good chance that you had your music library stored within Windows Media Player. It used to be pre-installed but later available to download on Microsoft’s site where you could use a variety of skins and visualizations that would rival Winamp, another media player from the late 90s. In the years since the app would get updated with a new look or new features from time to time, but in 2009 the 12th version was released, and in turn abandoned. With the breadth of media players that’s been available to download, Windows Media Player was left by the wayside. Microsoft themselves added to this by introducing a Movies & TV app in Windows 8 that also gave you the ability to buy content from the Windows Store, but this has also seen fewer updates in recent years. However, with Media Player seemingly about to debut in Windows 11, it could be a signal that Microsoft wants the app to see a return for its users. Windows Media Player has a pull of nostalgia to it, whether that’s from the skins or visualizations, but just its name gives the app the right connotations for users who just want to play some music as soon as their PC has upgraded to Windows 11. Some users just want to use the apps that are pre-installed on their PC without having to look for any alternatives. This is where Windows Media Player can help with these plights. While we may not see trippy visualizations in this reboot of Media Player at first, it’s an encouraging start by Microsoft to focus on the apps that users want to see tailor-made for Windows 11. Here are our picks of the best laptops in 2021 Via Windows Latest

As it turns out, mandated power cuts in several China provinces have so far caused more problems than initially anticipated. Apparently, ASE Technology and GlobalWafers were hit by the industrial blackouts. Local authorities in China's Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong provinces do not cut electricity supply to foundries like TSMC, which makes some of the best gaming CPUs, and UMC since they have continuous production cycles and cannot stop and then restart processing wafers without consequences. Therefore, for now, chip production in China will not be affected. Furthermore, there are other companies that can keep operating using diesel-fueled power generators to meet their shipment goals. There is an issue though. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong provinces are production hubs that have their own supply chains, so if some companies cease operations, others will be affected too since they will not get necessary supplies on time. Chip test and packaging giant ASE Technology that serves pretty much every fabless chip designer, including AMD, has reportedly notified its clients that its production facility in Kunshan will be unable to operate through September 30 due to restrictions, reports DigiTimes. The announcement caused the company's stock to drop 2.6%, reports FocusTaiwan. Meanwhile, the company did not make any announcements with the Taiwan Stock Exchange, so the impact on its business is not too significant. Being the world's largest outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) company, ASE has manufacturing facilities in various countries and regions, so ceasing operations in Suzhou will affect customers that are served by these plants. The company said that it was shipping products from the facility ahead of schedule late last week in a bid to minimize the impact of mandatory power cuts on its clients. Still, there could be some delays, as it seems. A day or two production delay may not sound dramatic, but it will cause delays further down the supply chain, which could lead to serious issues with maritime or air freights. While TSMC and UMC are not affected by electricity supply cuts directly, their partners in the region are. GlobalWafers, a wafer supplier, was ordered to halt production, reports ComputerBase. GlobalWafers also did not make any announcements with the TSE. It is unknown whether TSMC and UMC are going to miss any supplies from GlobalWafers or other companies in the region because of the power cuts. There are hundreds of companies in the three provinces affected by the country's decision to cut down energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Therefore, short-term effects on economy and local supply chains is something that is yet to be determined. In the long term, companies will adjust to offset the effects of mandated temporary energy cuts on their businesses. Some will introduce night shifts at days when energy supply is unlimited while others will increase output in other regions.

Western Digital just expanded its Red series of NAS-oriented products with the introduction of the WD Red SN700 M.2 NVMe SSDs. The drives may not compete with the best SSDs on the market, but they'll make any NAS owner happy. Many modern NAS systems now arrive with NVMe bays for consumers to slap a nice M.2 SSD inside them as a caching drive. There are already NAS-specific M.2 drives on the market, such as Seagate's IronWolf 510 or Synology's SNV3000 SSDs, so Western Digital does have some strong competition in the segment. The WD Red SN700 comes in a standard M.2-2280 form factor with a double-sided design for the 4TB model and single-sided design for the other capacities. The SSD features the NVMe 1.3 protocol and resides on a standard PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. Information on the WD Red SN700 is still short, but we suspect that the SSD leverages a SanDisk SSD controller and 3D TLC NAND chips. We've reached out to Western Digital for more details. There's probably onboard DRAM as well, although we're waiting for confirmation. The performance figures for the WD Red SN700 fall in line with what you expect for a PCIe 3.0 drive. In fact, the WD Red SN700's performance is very close to the WD Black SN750, at least on paper. WD Red SN700 Specifications Model Number Capacity Sequential Read (MBps) Sequential Write (MBps) Random Read (IOPS) Random Write (IOPS) Endurance (TBW) Warranty Pricing WDS400T1R0C 4TB 3,400 3,100 550,000 520,000 5,100 5 Years $650 WDS200T1R0C 2TB 3,400 2,900 480,000 540,000 2,500 5 Years $290 WDS100T1R0C 1TB 3,430 3,000 515,000 560,000 2,000 5 Years $145 WDS500G1R0C 500GB 3,430 2,600 420,000 380,000 1,000 5 Years $80 WDS250G1R0C 250GB 3,100 1,600 220,000 180,000 500 5 Years $6 The WD Red SN700 delivers sequential read and write speeds up to 3,430 MBps and 3,100 MBps, respectively. Western Digital rates the WD Red SN700's random performance for up to 550,000 IOPS reads and 560,000 IOPS writes. Obviously, the performance on the WD Red SN700 is dependant on the capacity that you choose. Western Digital backs the WD Red SN700 with a limited five-year warranty across all capacities. The SSD is optimized for 24/7 NAS workloads and always-on applications. The 4TB model has the highest endurance out of the lot with a rating of 5,100 TBW. The 2TB and 1TB variants are good for 2,500 TBW and 2,000 TBW, respectively. The lower capacity 500GB and 250GB models end up with 1,000 TBW and 500 TBW, respectively. Being a high-endurance drive, the WD Red SN700 is pricey. The 250GB, 500TB and 1TB models cost $65, $80 and $145, respectively. The 2TB and 4TB models, on the other hand, will set you back $290 and $650, respectively.

Portuguese retailer PCDiga accidentally listed the yet-to-be-announced AMD Radeon RX 6600 (non-XT) graphics card from Sapphire. It has since been pulled, but it was up long enough for VideoCardz to make screenshots and save pictures of the board. The expected launch date is October 13, according to Videocardz. The board in question belongs to the Pulse family, so it has a rather modest design and cooling system. But while AMD's Radeon RX 6600 is supposed to be more or less cheap, the listing had the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 6600 priced at €589.90 including VAT (about $560 without VAT). Keeping in mind that the Radeon RX 6600 XT retails for around €550~€630 ($535~$614 without taxes) in Europe, the listing seems to be somewhat inflated. AMD's Radeon RX 6600 XT is officially priced at $379, but its real-world price tends to be considerably higher. Still, we expect the official MSRP for the non-XT will be lower, possibly going head-to-head with Nvidia's (theoretically priced) $329 RTX 3060. We'll have to wait for the launch to see how the GPU actually performs. Sapphire's Pulse Radeon RX 6600 (11310-01-20G) will use a cut-down version of AMD's Navi 23 GPU with 28 CUs and 1792 stream processors, a 32MB Infinity Cache, and a 128-bit memory interface that will be used to connect 8GB of 16 GT/s GDDR6 memory. The card will feature a dual-fan dual-slot cooling system, four display outputs (three DP 1.4, one HDMI 2.0), and one 8-pin auxiliary PCIe power connector. The graphics card itself looks rather small, smaller than the Sapphire RX 6600 XT Pulse. The XT performed quite well in our testing, with plenty of headroom, so a cut-down design ought to be able to cope with the lower tier GPU. We don't know the exact GPU clocks yet, but it's a safe bet that they won't be any higher than the XT model. It apparently has four CUs disabled, which means its potential performance will likely be around 10% slower than the full-blown Radeon RX 6600 XT, give or take.
