It is well known that iPhone users spend more money on apps than those on Android, but the difference has never been as big as it is now.
Smartphone owners spent $ 18.2 billion on apps and games for phones in the third quarter of the year. Of this, 66%, or $ 12 billion, came from the Apple AppStore, and Google took the rest of $ 6.2 billion.
Basically, according to the Sensor Tower report, App Store gained nearly 93% more than Google Play this quarter, the biggest difference in 2014 (since then, Sensor Tower has begun to track down spending on Android) so far.
In the third quarter of this year, App Store earned 23.3% more than it did in the third quarter of 2017. Google Play earned 21.5% over the same period. For these pluses are responsible applications that are sold as a subscription. Netflix remains the highest revenue appliance, for the third quarter in a row, with over $ 243 million raised on both platforms. Tinder and Tencent Video remain in second and third places.
WhatsApp remains the world's most downloaded app, followed by two other Facebook products (Messenger and social networking app). Instagram is ranked fifth, overtaken by TikTok.
And mobile gaming costs have risen 14.9% over the past year to $ 13.8 billion or 76% of total application revenue on both platforms globally. The App Store took 62% of that money, that's $ 8.5 billion, and Google the rest.
The game that produces the most money remains Honor of Kings, followed by three other games produced in China. Pokemon Go is the game made in the US with the highest revenue. Fortnite is ranked 9th on the profitability scale although the game was not available on Android at the time of the top.
The most downloaded game is Helix Jump, followed by Rise Up and Hello Stars. PUBG Mobile is ranked fourth.
