  1. NVIDIA has released its earnings report for Q4 FY19 with $ 2.21 billion in revenue in total, booming expectations and raising their share price in after-hours trading. At the same time, NVIDIA posted that their Gaming revenue has seen a drop of 45% from the previous year, which means their GeForce sales have taken a major hit. NVIDIA Reports 45% Revenue Drop in Gaming Sales, Cites Lower Than Expected Sales of GeForce RTX 2080 and GeForce RTX 2070 Graphics Cards In the details shared by NVIDIA, the market to market revenue shows that Gaming was able to make $ 954 million in Q4 FY19 compared to $ 1764 million in the previous quarter. Not only does that make it a 46% drop from the previous quarter, but looking at Year-to-Year results, NVIDIA also saw a 45% decline. 2018 was a record year but it was a disappointing finish. This quarter, we expect to put the channel inventory issue behind us and get back on track. As the pioneer of accelerated computing, our position is unique and strong. And the opportunities ahead in graphics, high performance computing, AI and autonomous machines remain enormous. We are as enthusiastic about these growth opportunities as ever. Other markets such as Datacenter, Automotive, and Professional Visualization have been up from the previous year, as can be seen in the chart above. NVIDIA said in previous reports that OEM and IP sales are attributed to their crypto business and here we can see a 22% decline from the previous quarter and a 36% decline from the previous year with a current revenue of $ 116 million. Note that OEM and IP are direct sales to crypto businesses, and there is no telling how many GeForce tier (Gaming) cards have amounted to Gaming revenue as users who buy them can end up using the cards for crypto mining. Deteriorating macroeconomic conditions, particularly in China, has impacted consumer demand for our GPUs; and third, sales of certain high-end GPUs using our new Turing architecture, including the GeForce RTX 2080 and 2070, were lower than we expected to launch a new architecture. On a full year basis, we expect our gaming business to be down slightly given the tough first half compared with growth in Turing and notebook gaming. When it comes to crypto, it is partly to blame but still a significant factor that has led to a decline in NVIDIA's revenue. NVIDIA had delayed their GeForce RTX Turing cards to get rid of the excess GeForce GTX 10 series inventory that they had produced by overestimating the crypto market. As soon as cryptocurrency fell across the globe, so did the sales of crypto targeted graphics cards and that hit NVIDIA as they had overproduced Pascal chips. Even at the moment, NVIDIA still is not clear of their GeForce 1060 (GP106 GPU) inventory. There are also other factors that are related to GeForce RTX cards and their main highlight, the RTX feature. First of all, we should look at the prices of GeForce RTX 20 series cards that are the highest in their graphics segment. The other thing is the performance increase per gen which is also lower than what previous generations had to offer. If we look at Pascal, the GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1080 gave users a lot of reason to upgrade and were not priced out of the mainstream audience. The GTX 1080 Ti was the king of the hill for a full 2 years and had a price of just $ 699 US. The current situation is completely different. NVIDIA is offering the GTX 1080 successor for the price of a GTX 1080 Ti which offers around the same performance of the previous flagship at $ 699 US. Same can be said for the RTX 2070 which exceeds the performance of a GTX 1080 but costs the same at $ 499 US. The GeForce RTX 2060 costs $ 349 US and that's about the same as the GTX 1070 but here, it does offer somewhat better performance.vNVIDIA also states that the reason for poor sales was due to them introducing high-end cards first. But I should remind you that with Pascal and Maxwell, NVIDIA also launched their high-end cards first. The GeForce GTX 1080 and GeForce GTX 1070 were introduced around the same time while the GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 970 were also announced and launched close to each other. The GeForce GTX 960 and GTX 1060 always launched later than the higher end cards but this time NVIDIA had the edge by offering the RTX 2080 Ti from the start which is a crucial flagship product in the Turing lineup. When we launched the 2070 and 2080, it was the first time we've ever launched a new generation where the only available SKUs were very high end. And in addition to that, the early boards that came out on the market were the special edition and the over clocked versions. And the MSRP versions did not show up for some short time after, couple of months after. And so the conditions were not ideal, if you will. We were not able to launch into the mainstream segment with 2060 for all the reasons that I think everyone understands now. And so I think that the situation was not an idea
  2. Windows 10 Insiders sent screaming to a future where, now, nothing has changed right nowMicrosoft fired up the speculation machine last night by issuing a fresh build of Windows 10 to lucky skip-ahead testers: and it contains code from 2020s Windows. While grays are still full of dusty CDs of beta code for Windows NT, handed out years before Final Release to Manufacturing, this is the first release of Windows 10's release (unless one counts the leaked builds smuggled out through Redmond's walls.) Windows Insiders has Microsoft's army of volunteer testers, given access to early versions of Windows 10, to give the OS a thorough kicking on as many hardware configurations as possible. Until yesterday, "Skip Ahead" meant opting to jump beyond the next version of the operating system for ever shinier toys. As such, anxious testers were wondering when 19H2 would put in an appearance, with 19H1 (probably called Windows 10 April 2019 Update) nearing release. The "Skip Ahead" ring was briefly opened just over two weeks ago, and users have been impatiently waiting for their first glimpse of 19H2, probably the "October 2019 Update", ever since. Would you see the return of Sets? Might there be hints of a leaner, lighter Windows? Perhaps some more beatings with the dark mode stick that so many inexplicably enjoy so much? Surprise! These Skip Ahead users are actually getting a glimpse of a Windows world in the year 2020, thanks to build 18836. In a posting woefully short on the detail, Windows Insider Supremo Dona Sarkar said the bleeding obvious when she said: "Some things we are working on in 20H1 require a longer lead time" without actually explaining why Skip Ahead testers are being asked to Skip Ahead pretty so far into the future. She also said Insiders would get hold of 19H2 after 19H1 (the next release) is "almost finished and ready". So that means the brave souls on Skip Ahead will get a downgrade to 19H2, right? Not so, according to Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc: So, if you selected Skip Ahead, you will not be seeing 19H2 (probably the October update). This could mean Microsoft intends to play with his Rings. Fast Ring users could become what was Skip Ahead and get 19H2 as the 19H1 nears release while the currently neglected Slow Ring finally gets some fresh code to test. Then again, LeBlanc was also the chap that cheerfully reckoned enough testing had been done with the October 2018 Update to bypass Release Preview and unleash the thing directly on users. That did not end so well. So, pull up the chair and crank up the ol 'Speculation 3000. Right now, the new build that contains the 2020 code has little visible in the way of the new features, which is not unusual for a Skip Ahead build. The change does, however, seem to imply and the shake-up of the test rings is imminent for Insiders. If so, it is a shame that those enthusiastic souls who opted to join Skip Ahead were not warned that they would be leaping two versions into the future rather than one. Or maybe, we dare say it, there is something so horrifying in 19H2 that 20H1 has been hastily shovelled out to give Microsoft more time to deal with it. ®
  3. Windows XP was released 17 years ago and is still considered by many PC users to be the best operating system. That's why you might want to turn Windows 10 into Windows XP. On August 24, 2001, the final RTM version of Windows XP came to system creators. Ordinary users would get their hands on Microsoft's newest operating system after two months on October 25th. After a decade in which I have only experienced inexperienced upgrades to the interface I've learned from Windows 95 and Windows 98, XP has been revolutionizing many aspects. Besides being surprisingly stable for a Microsoft system, Windows XP has a colorful interface and much more intuitive than in the past. The themes included in Windows or downloadable from the Internet radically changed the way the Start bar, Taskbar and desktop appeared. For the first time, the SO did a great job of installing the drivers you needed, and if you had a stable connection to the internet, regular updates had a real benefit. Windows XP is still likely to have an idealized image in the mind of users and because it was followed by the disastrous Windows Vista. That operating system was a black hole for your RAM, and no matter how efficient your system was, you had a significant chance of cluttering randomly or being surprisingly slow. Most PC owners still classify Windows 7 as the best OS, but there are many reasons why you might want to know how to turn Windows 10 into Windows XP. How to turn Windows 10 into Windows XP: what are the tools Before you get started with this project, it is worthwhile to keep in mind that the rich set of aesthetic benefits involves a fairly large number of operations and a bit of patience. From a point of view, it is not for everyone. But if you've developed a fascination for Windows XP and you genuinely want to recreate that interface on the latest operating system coming out of Redmond, that means you have the reasons you want to start with. Before you get started, you need a few things. The memorable wallpaper image from Windows XP in 4K resolution can be downloaded above or from this page by Reddit. Quality is the same. Windows XP had default multiple Start Buttons, although the blue one remained in collective memory. All the textures for the start button are on this site. If you do not want to choose and love the idea of having all variants at hand, use this link. The texture for the classic XP Taskbar is available at this Dropbox address. You do not need an account to download it, nor do you need to install your client application. Just click on the three top right points and choose Direct Download. It will be a surprisingly small PNG file. Last but not least, you need to download and install a program titled NeoClassic-UI. The latter is an upgraded version of the ClassicShell Start Menu, an open source software that can be downloaded from GitHub and was originally created in Windows Vista. Important is that it works just as well now, and if you want to use anything other than Windows 10, it's good to know that it works just as well on Windows 7, Windows 8, and 8.1. How to turn Windows 10 into Windows XP after installing NeoClassic-UI Once you've downloaded the above files and installed the necessary program in the customization process, you can get started. Start NeoClassic UI and check Show all setting at the top center of the interface. First, click Start Menu Style and choose Classic with Two Columns. At the bottom of the window, highlight Replace Start Button and choose Custom to the right. Click on Pick Image and choose one of the textures for the Start button that pleases you and you downloaded it in the previous step. In my case, after I turned on this option, the Start button changed according to my settings, but it was very small. As a result, I went to Advanced Button Options, unchecked "Align to corner of the screen", and, on the size button, I opted for 175. Depending on the resolution you have on the monitor or its size, look better with 200 or 150. The biggest change you can apply using this program is available in the Skin section. Here, it's important to tick Windows XP Moon to Skin, choose Blue and eventually check Small Icons or Large Font, depending on how good your eyes are. You do not have to press OK after each change you make to the program. It is enough to confirm at the end after you have finished applying all the particularities that you define in the editorial. The Classic Start Menu Taskbar section involves a set of changes that you should carefully follow. Check Transparent at the top. Click on the Texture Taskbar, click on the three right points, the equivalent of Browse, and choose the previously downloaded texture. This is the xp_bg.png file. Check Tiles under Horizontal Stretching. Click Ok. Right click in free space on your Taskbar and uncheck Show Taskview button, Show Friends, and right to Cortana opts for Hidden in the same menu. You are in the last few hundred meters with turning Windows 10 into Windows XP For things to look "like in the old days", you have only a few steps to go. Click Start and click Settings. Go to Personalization and, on the left, click Background, opt for browsers, and choose the background image from Windows XP at high resolution that you downloaded at first. In the Colors section on the left, you are interested in Windows Colors on the right. Click on the first blue shade on the third row, and the color change will be visible in real time. A little below, in the same window, check Show color on the Accent bar, Start menu, and Action Center. Check Transparency. Finally, you should get an interface identical to the one in the intro photo. It's important to keep in mind that this tutorial works on the latest version of Windows 10 and is likely to work on future releases as well. Eventually, if you start experiencing problems after an update, download an updated version of NeoClassic UI from Github. If you've changed your mind and want to go back to the standard Start Menu menu, right-click on the Start button and choose Exit to leave the program that changed your interface. Predictably, the wallpaper and color theme changes from Settings to Windows 10.
  4. All new Volvo V60 with sleeker styling, and larger interior, improved performance Standard 9-inch display screen, Volvo's City Safe Technology, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto Available in two trim levels: Momentum and Inscription The starting price should be around $ 40,000 Volvo is the owner of the luxury station wagon market in the US Station wagons may not be the most vibrant vehicle segment these days, but Volvo knows that it has a core fanbase that loves wagons in general and Volvo wagons in particular. It's this fanbase Volvo is targeting with the all-new 2019 Volvo V60. Improvements in styling, interior space, performance, fuel efficiency and safety tech suggests Volvo's grip on the luxury station wagon space will only tighten with the new V60. Sleeker styling wrapped around a bigger interior Offered in two trim levels, Momentum and Inscription, the 2019 V60 features an all-new chassis and body wrapped around a more roomy interior. Volvo focused on design and versatility, improving both through a combination of structural and styling upgrades. The new wagon's length increases by 4.9 inches, with a wheelbase that's 3.8 inches longer. This reduces the front and rear overhang and combines with a 2.2-inch drop in the roof height plus a standard rear spoiler to give the wagon a streamlined profile. The new V60's look is further enhanced by sleek, T-shaped LED headlights and prominent, elevated LED taillights, both standard on all models. Advanced technology "Volvo" and "Safety", however, are easy to connect buyers, and the V60 maintains this tradition with a host of advanced standard and optional technology features. Volvo's "City Safety" system includes automatic emergency braking to avoid pedestrians, cyclists and large animals. It also includes brake mitigation to avoid head-on collisions. Optional safety equipment includes cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring and Pilot Assist, and a "hands-on-the-wheel" system to eliminate stress from stop-and-go traffic. Pilot assist will modulate the throttle and brake to match traffic traffic. It also provides the steering input to keep the V60 in its lane. Pilot assistance can be used up to 80 mph, and it includes new technology to match the car's speed to curves, based on map data. It can actually lower the V60's speed to make curves more comfortable when using cruise control.
  5. Bulgaria Sunny Beach is the cheapest European resort for UK travelers, an analysis of 20 seaside haunts suggests. Prices at the Black Sea resort are a third lower than its closest competitor, Portugal's Algarve, Post Office Travel Money said. The analysis took into account the cost of nine tourist staples, including lunch and evening meals, drinks, sunscreen and insect repellent. Portugal's Algarve was next cheapest, followed by Marmaris in Turkey. Sorrento in Italy was the most expensive of the featured destinations, with prices three times more expensive than in Sunny Beach. Brexit and holidays: What do I need to know? UK drivers in EU told the swap license At the Bulgarian resort, where prices have dropped 10.7% in the past year, holidaymakers could find a two-course lunch for two people for £ 8.42, pay just £ 1.17 for a glass of wine in a bar and £ 2.34 for a premium brand bottle of suncream. The Post Office said that while sterling was stronger against the euro than a year ago, competitive prices in restaurants, bars and shops meant prices dropped in more than two-thirds of the destinations it analyzes. "The price drops could be an indication that tourist businesses in European resorts are keen to attract UK visitors and will keep costs low," said Nick Boden, head of the event. "There are significant variations between the prices we have found in the resorts this year so it will really pay dividends to make some holiday homework before booking to avoid busting the budget. interest in travel to Bulgaria and Turkey. 7. n brief: Valve first tried to implement measures to combat bombardment in 2017 but a new announcement from the company admits that there is room for improvement. Valves have said they are now rolling out a new feature to remove 'off-topic' reviews from their overall rating calculations. Steam's review and rating system is a key part of many gamers' decision-making when they are on the hunt for a new title to play. But while most gamers would expect the review scores to be indicative of the quality of the game, thanks to the review bombing that is not always the case. The bombing review has become a method for consumers to voice their displeasure about decisions or actions taken by developers that do not necessarily relate to how well a game plays. For example, when Metro Exodus publishers recently announced the latest installment would be timed-exclusive on the Epic Store, thousands of reviewers piled on the older Metro games on Steam to vent their frustration. While it's understandable for people to use whatever methods available to them to make their voices heard, review bombing is a phenomenon that is bad for developers and bad for gamers who only really care about the quality of the product they are buying. And so the stage is set for Valve's latest move to combat bombing review. In an announcement on Friday, Valve gave details for their new tool: "We will identify off-topic review bombs and remove them from the Review Score." Despite the simplicity of the proposition, Valve's blog post goes into some depth about what they consider off-topic, and the potential flaws of the new system. One such flaw is that any genuine reviews posted during what Valve deems a 'review bomb' will be filtered out alongside the off-topic posts. It's clear that Valve understands that people do not want to be silenced or have negative posts censored, so reviews themselves are not being removed. Instead, those reviews will not count towards the overall rating. For gamers who care about the more theoretical and political aspects of game publishing, Valve includes the option to turn off this feature in Steam Store settings. This will mean the system will not affect the ratings you'll see - bombs and all.
  8. You know that in 2018 changing the iPhone's battery costs less, due to a scandal that Apple was involved in because they were limiting the processor power when the battery degraded. Well, the offer was only until the end of 2018, from the year it will cost more. iPhone 8 reviews Romanian-Arenaa-1.jpg? res The official price for any iPhone battery was $ 39 until December 2018. In Romania, for iStyle, for example, the price dropped to 200 lei with all the workmanship. From 2019 official prices will be as follows: $ 49: iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus $ 69: iPhone XS, XS XS Max, iPhone XR and iPhone X $ 79: Other models Basically, the price increases by $ 10 for old models. In Romania this means 10 Euros, so maybe about 50 lei. In other words, if your battery has dropped a lot (you can check this in Settings -> Battery -> Battery Health) then you probably want to change it this year.
  9. Even if it was launched in the market just 24 months ago, the latest generation of the Civic Type R is already preparing to receive a facelift. An upgraded version of the compact sports class Japanese could be presented by Honda officials before the end of the year, according to the latest information. The fastest front-wheel drive in the history of the legendary Nurburgring circuit, the current generation of the Honda Civic Type R is expected to receive an early facelift in the coming period. Launched in the market two years ago at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017, the Japanese compact class was surprised these days in tests, along with some camouflaged elements. It is intriguing that, alongside the front and rear spoilers, Honda engineers have chosen to hide curiosity, including the ceiling, which has led some to speculate that the new Civic Type R will give me a carbon roof. If these rumors prove to be true, the improved version of the compact Japanese-style sports car would be one of the few volume cars that offer such an option, more and more common on top-of-the-line premium models. And if it comes to performance, no one can say for the moment, unfortunately, if the new Honda Civic Type R Facelift will offer 320 horses or the 2.0 turbo unit will be modified for extra power. Finally, these are said, we conclude by recalling that the improved version of the Japanese compact class is intended to debut in front of the general public ... just before the end of the year.
  10. Scientists have produced a new model to illustrate the December collapse of Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcano and its subsequent tsunami. The results indicate that 0.2-0.4 per km of material on the southwestern flank of the volcano must have slipped into the sea to produce the destructive waves. The simulation matches the high-water readings recorded at tide gauges on Sumatran and Javan coasts. More than 400 people have lost their lives in the disaster; 33,000 were displaced. The event took almost everyone by surprise. The dangers of a landslide-generated tsunami stemming from a volcanic eruption were under-appreciated. Local after [CENSORED] tions certainly had no warning. Scientists also had to catch up, said Professor David Tappin, who presented the new model here at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly. Thinking had been strongly focused on tsunamis from big earthquakes, British Geological Survey and University College London told reporters. "Why is Anak Krakatau interesting? Because it's the first such event we've been able to investigate using all the modern technologies and understandings that have come about over the last 20 years," he explained. "These include numerical tsunami modeling, especially from non-seismic sources, satellite radar, high-resolution satellite photography before and after the event, and high-resolution seabed mapping." Anak Krakatau's collapse occurred on the evening of 22 December, during a period of renewed eruptive activity. A number of factors are thought to have precipitated what happened, including the height (340m), the steepness and inherent weakness of the volcanic structure; and the fact that it had grown close to - and had even migrated towards - the edge of a deep (220m) submarine trough. When the flank went into the sea, it would have pushed out a big wave in front of it and sucked down the water surface immediately behind. The model shows how the disturbance spread out across the Sunda Strait. Prof. Stephan Grilli, who led the modeling work at the University of Rhode Island, commented: "The numerical modeling of the eruption-generated tsunamis is far less developed than for other tsunami mechanisms - such as earthquakes and landslides." The Anak Krakatau event is timely in that it should stimulate the development of new models that will underpin improved mitigation strategies. "
