  1. Just Cause 3, the third installment in Just Cause video game franchise, has finally arrived on retail shelves across the globe. The fans of the franchise waited for FIVE years for this game. Whatever promotional materials (screenshots, trailers, box art or any other) we received from Avalanche Studios (right from the official reveal/announcement till launch date) all of them concentrated mainly one feature "EXPLOSION and Causing Mayhem in a variety of style". This marketing strategy of Avalanche Studios managed to catch the attention of loyal fans of the franchise but what about those players who were looking forward to Rico's new adventure on all factors: story, new improvements gameplay mechanics, and other such factors? Is it worth for them to invest $60 straight away in Just Cause 3 or should wait for a price drop and then try out the above mention marketed features (explosion, open world sandbox, and creative mayhem)? Let's try to find out the answer to this question in our review below. Story: To make a game like Just Cause 3 (single-player only, open world) a success it is not mandatory for developers to add a co-op or competitive portion, a good story, an altogether unique personal experience, and an in-depth character progression system are enough to keep players hook to the game for many hours. Sadly, Avalanche Studios failed on all these fronts with Just Cause 3, the studio doesn't quite deliver on these parameters. However, this doesn't mean there is no fun at all to have in the game, Rico Rodriguez's new adventure and a return to his homeland (Medici) will offer the player a good experience but they won't talk about it for too long. The event in Just Cause 3 takes place several years after Just Cause 3. Rico Rodriguez has left the agency he previously worked for and decides to head back to his hometown, Medici Island. Upon his return, Rico discovers that Medici changed a lot since he first left and is now under the control of General Di Ravello, a brutal dictator. Rico pledges take down the empire of Di Ravello and free his homeland. In his journey to destroy Ravello empire, Rico will team up with local rebels and some of the returning characters from Just Cause 2. Improvements to Gameplay Mechanics As compared to last game in Just Cause franchise, Avalanche Studios has overhauled and upgraded the gameplay mechanics in Just Cause 3 and the perfect example I can list here is Rico's signature weapon, grappling hook, it can now be used by players to hit multiple targets as compared to one (previously). Some other interesting and important changes include C4 access is unlimited, supply crates are easily available, players are free to use their creativity to destroy the things in the game, wingsuit is available immediately. Avalanche has made the open world of the game available to the players right from the start, so if you decide to go for an explore route then there is a possibility that players will lose track of the story missions. Prepare yourself, guys, because you will surely go to invest a ton of hours into Just Cause 3. Variety Of Vehicles, Weapons, And Other Things When it comes to variety in vehicles and weapons present in the game, Just Cause 3 matches the bar set by its predecessor. There are the ton of unique vehicles and weapons hidden in Just Cause 3. The one annoying thing I came across is the lack of remapping keys or controls on the controller, some of you have to invest a bit more time to get used to the controls. Also, many of you are well aware of an old saying "Size Doesn't Matter", this applies perfectly to the world of Just Cause 3. No doubt it is massive in terms of scale and size, but boring feel starts to creep up as all you have to do is random challenges, throw away missions and blow stuff up. You will love the new and returning characters, expect from them some funny moments and dialog. Performance The game suffers from nasty frame-rate and long loading time issue. During my playthrough on PC, the FPS constantly judders around while I was not doing a whole lot, for example, there is an FPS drop while driving, swinging camera. During intense explosion sequence things are worst. What is the end result of this? a big lag in input and this will frustrate you and test your patience. Coming to long or I should say VERY LONG Loading time. I find a vehicle explode challenge pretty early in the game and gave it a try, loaded it smoothly and then screwed the things and can't complete it successfully and so wanted to give it another try and hence restarted it, it took 3 minutes to reload. Avalanche has promised to fix these performance issues via a patch, I hope they release it as soon as possible. Graphics and Audio The environment and surroundings of Medici Island are definitely a sight to behold. The sound design is also good, not real demons there. Conclusion For loyal Just Cause fans, Just Cause 3 is a must buy instantly, no need to think twice, but for newcomers it would be better to wait for few more days and let Avalanche Studios fix those nasty performance issue. The studio has promised to do it as soon as possible. You will definitely fall in love with this game and will surely invest a ton of hours in it, there are some stunning explosion, weapons, vehicles, open world to explore. Sadly, the story is bit tad.
  2. It took Capcom almost a decade to release the new game in Street Fighter franchise because they had a tough and delicate job in their hands of retaining the features that loyal fan base love and refresh the decor at the same time. Capcom tasked Yoshinori Ono to look after the development work on Street Fighter V as he has a comprehensive knowledge and skill in this genre. Did Street Fighter series make a remarkable comeback under the supervision on Yoshinori Ono on PlayStation 4 and PC? I have listed everything you need to know in this regard in my Street Fighter V review below, but if you are among one of those restless fans who just want to know whether or not to invest your hard earned $60 in few simple words/lines then here is what I think: "Street Fighter V ticks most of the boxes RIGHT, the launch roster is eclectic, varied stages, addictive gameplay and most importantly the move lists has been lowered in order to welcome newcomers." Gameplay: Along with traditional fights elements, Street Fighter V takes gameplay to next level with refreshing concepts of V-gauge and Critical-Gauge. You can use V-gauge and Critical-Gauge as game changer weapons in the time of need. You can plan out various tactics. Remember to skill your defense strategy more than offense because reversal and counter attacks from your opponent do take a big chunk of your health bar. Every game mode is good in its own way, even the training mode where you get a sparring partner to try every attack with unlimited health, V-gauge, and Critical-Gauge bars. Traditional versus mode is also there to play with a buddy holding the second controller, it adds plus point to make Street Fighter V a competitive offline game. Story Mode: This mode gives you intro of every character, set up of 3 fights and defining the purpose of each fighter to fight the rest. Few character stories are so interesting that you wish to know more of it but it doesn't conclude stories, just the intro defining the purpose of a character to fight. It's not the much difficult mode, you get through every character story easily. One thing I didn't like in storytelling of every character is the usage of artworks during dialogues before and after every fight, cut-scene videos would have done a better job. Survival Mode: Good for testing your skills at various difficulty levels. It can also be utilized as practice to perfect any character of your choice. It is very competitive, keeps you engaged and the idea of Battle Supplements after every fight makes it innovative, you have to decide perks you wanna choose which makes your decision makes different in every next fight after choosing Battle Supplements, so spend your points wisely. Casual Match Mode: Casual Mode is good to test out your skills with other online players without losing your rank stats. To find the match they have given you search criteria options so that you can find players to your console and levels. My experience was smooth during a fight, with no lags. Sometimes you have to wait long before your search match gets found, it's all depends on a number of players availability searching for a casual match at the same time as you, so be patient. Ranked Match Mode: It's similar to casual mode except your ranking stats are on the line, you gain points and increase in ranking if you win else you loose ranking. Battle lounge: It's a hangout place which enables network matches with other players and allows inviting players to the Battle Lounge from Favorites. You can join others or create your own lounge with your custom settings which can be changed later. This mode I feel will evolve with time, right now you won't find much fun it. Hopefully, it will be a lot more interesting with more boost in eight-player lounges after free March update as promised by Capcom. Sound and Audio: I didn't like the background sound much, it is same for every fight, you get bored hearing same tunes after few fights. Character voices are good during fights but their dialogues pre and post fights doesn't have many variations. Graphics: Character graphics are good, they look alive enough if you play at max settings. Every fighting stage has a unique theme, spectators in the background watching your fights are always doing funny and repetitive acts so that makes it bit boring at times to see similar animations over and over again. I faced slight lags during Critical attacks, but not with every character. Conclusion: After playing SFV, I have become a fan of series. I'm impressed with most of the elements and features it offers but still there is a lot of room for further improvements which we will hopefully see in [CENSORED]ure updates and DLCs. I really wish there would be more story content. Online and Offline modes have good balance but it is mainly built for online modes and leagues. Graphics are good but sound is not. Gameplay is competitive and keeps you engaged.
  3. Tom Clancy's The Division won't have reviews until a few days after the official 8 March launch. Ubisoft provided an official statement upon this matter, saying that there wasn't any chance for them to po[CENSORED]te the game servers before day one and let journalists enjoy the experience enough so they could deliver a good reviewer on time. Ubisoft isn't new to such methods but, this time, they were fair enough to give a specific, public comment upon this matter. In the past, not delivering review copies before launch was a solution the publisher found useful to cover its not-so-great releases, such as Assassin's Creed Unity, but that happened with the stealth mode activated – they just didn't send review copies until day one. While this is not so much fun for reviewers and gaming websites, since we won't be able to discuss The Division until everyone already has the game in his hands and won't care very much about what other people think of it, letting all the journalists release their reviews starting from the same point – without any advantages in terms of timing, not choosing deliberately who's to cover the game under an embargo and who's not – is also a great opportunity we appreciate. In any case, we appreciate Ubisoft and Massive Entertainemnt released that statement to make it clear from now on that every article delivered before day one is not to be considered a proper and good review for The Division, but just speculation and considerations about the previous playable builds. On the other hand, we have gamers. Gamers have had a series of chances to give the game a try. In the past we had demos, now we have alphas and betas. The Division had a closed alpha exclusive for Xbox One, a closed beta which launched on PC and PS4 as well, and finally an open beta for all the platforms. So it's clear each and everyone has had his occasion to deal with the title and see, feel with his own eyes and hands if it was going to be something he could enjoy or not. One could say – ok, it was great, but what if the game has day one issues linked to the servers? Well, good point, but that's not something we as journalists and press in general could solve, not a question we can answer, since embargoed reviews (given that Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are not willing or capable to “simulate” a prior-to-day-one experience where the servers are fairly po[CENSORED]ted) would have eventually came out of a LAN event prior the day one. So there's no way you could have had an opinion about this, dramatically important though, topic. We're going to tell you this, although this is not the most original thing you'll read today. In case you have such fears about The Division, well, you should just not buy it day one. Wait and see what happens on day one, or even in the early hours of it on the market, watch gameplay videos, livestreams, go out on Reddit and official forums to read what real people (not just reviewers) think about the game and the way it works once completely released. That's the best way around. The Division is going to be the next big thing in gaming, in our opinion, but we know you can resist a few hours or even a couple weeks. Who cares about your friends pre-ordering it and maxing their characters after just one day, even before you can get your hands on the game? There will always be someone who plays much more than you or simply is much better than you at a certain activity. Deal with it. And enjoy the time and day you will start playing The Division – which is not written in the store it must be March 8. It's when you'll be ready and convinced about where and how you have to invest your money in order to get the maximum degree of satisfaction.
