  1. Rabat - A recent benchmark report by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has indicated that Women’s football is witnessing continuous global growth in terms of revenues from sponsorships, broadcast deals, merchandising, exposure, and popularity. Women’s football is “enjoying the greatest level of global interest in its history,” said the report, adding that the sport is also enjoying the interest of a growing number of football fans from across the world. The report cited the recent 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which took place in Morocco, as an example. The final game between the host country and South Africa set a new attendance record in the history of African women’s football. The Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat hosted around 50,000 spectators during the event. The report, which is the second edition of the FIFA Benchmarking Report on Women’s Football, aims to support the growth of the sport by offering practical solutions to the game’s stakeholders. The report analyzed data from 30 of the top women’s football leagues and 294 clubs against the first edition of the report, which was released in May 2021. Read also: Morocco, Nigeria WAFCON Semifinal Sets New Attendance Record The survey findings indicated that clubs reported a year-on-year commercial revenue increase of 33%, while 77% of leagues had a title sponsor, an increase of 11% from last year. In addition, 90% of leagues had a “written strategy” in 2022, compared to 79% in 2021. Published on Friday, the report added that international transfer fees in professional women’s football “hit a new record” of $2.1 million (MAD 13 million), an increase of 73% compared to 2020. Morocco’s National Women’s Football Team has gained widespread popularity in the country during the WAFCON, with thousands of Moroccans offering their unwavering support and admiration to the Atlas Lionesses. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/352151/fifa-womens-football-enjoys-growing-global-momentum

  3. Dodge has brought out its electric Charger Daytona concept for the second time, this time painted in Stryker Red and wearing carbon-fiber 18-inch wheels. Dodge also detailed the Charger Daytona's lineup, with the 340-badged base model making 455 horsepower and the second-tier 440-badged model producing 590 hp. There will also be a top-spec SRT Banshee that uses an 800-volt electrical system, versus a 400-volt setup on the lower models, but the power output has not yet been announced. The Dodge Charger is nearly dead as we know it, with 2023 set to be its final model year and a slew of special editions beckoning the Charger and its Challenger brother out the door. The replacement for Dodge's muscle cars will be electric, and Dodge has been busy preparing its V-8–loving fanbase for a gas-free future with the Charger Daytona SRT concept that debuted back in August. Now Dodge is trotting its burly concept back out for the 2022 SEMA show with a few updates, announcing power outputs from the 400-volt electrical system. While Dodge still hasn't clarified how many electric motors the Daytona Charger SRT packs, the automaker has now revealed a lineup of power levels for the concept. The lowest model—called 340 for the power output in kilowatts—makes 455 horsepower, while the next step up, the 440, brings 590 ponies. However, both models offer two horsepower upgrade options, called eStage 1 and 2, as over-the-air purchases from Dodge's Direct Connection arm. The base model can be boosted to 495 or 535 horsepower, while the second tier can be pushed to 630 or 670 horsepower. Dodge also says that the most powerful model will be called the SRT Banshee and will feature an 800-volt electrical system, but the company is still mum on an exact power output for this range topper. Dodge also hasn't specified how these models will translate to production, with the Daytona SRT still officially a concept, but given the amount of thought Dodge has already put into it, we wouldn't be surprised if a similar lineup eventually reaches customers. The Banshee will also offer Direct Connection upgrades, and the upgraded models will feature a "crystal" key (Dodge used quotes, so we assume it won’t be a real crystal). The updated concept at SEMA is distinguished by its Stryker Red paint color as well as "Stage 2" badges on the fenders and 18-inch carbon-fiber wheels wrapped in 305-mm drag radial tires. Dodge will also use the SEMA show to get feedback from attendees on the concept's Fratzonic Chambered exhaust system, which Dodge says boosts the hum of the electric motors up to a deafening 126 decibels, although we imagine this will be toned down for the production car due to noise laws in some states. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41823742/dodge-charger-daytona-ev-concept-sema-power-details/
  4. Rabat- Leila Tazi Kandil, Latifa Jabri Chrouate, and Yasmina Sitail successfully raised the Moroccan flag on Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Malaysia at 4,101 meters (13,455 feet) above sea level, located in the state of Sabah, East Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. The hiking enthusiasts were accompanied by three guides and three porters during their 48 hour climb. “It took us 48 hours to reach the Kinabalu summit in two phases,” Yasmina Sitail told Morocco World News (MWN). “We could have added one night of acclimatization but we made the push the first night because we had foreseen rain.” The three brave women persevered despite the numerous obstacles they faced during their trek. Sitail told MWN that “there were many difficulties to overcome, including injury and maintaining a strong will to reach the summit.” “Being physically prepared is also equally important to avoid back or knee pain,” she stressed. Three other Moroccan women, Zhor Kabbaj, Malika El Alami, and Yasmina Amor Trachen, were injured and were unable to complete the trek. The Six Moroccan women who participated in Mount Kinabalu expedition Sitail, Jabri, and Tazi Kandil persevered in the face of adversity during their climbing expedition and achieved the remarkable feat. The trekking enthusiasts' passion for exploration was sparked when they encountered Nacer Ben Abdeljalil, the first Moroccan to summit Mount Everest. They were planning to climb Mount Kinabalu in April 2020; everything was paid for and planned, but the COVID-19 pandemic struck, forcing them to reschedule the trek and wait until Malaysian borders reopened. The three mountaineers have previously climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (Africa's highest peak), Everest Base Camp in Nepal, and Salkantay in Peru. They also took on Mount Toubkal in Morocco during the pandemic. “With our coach Nacer Ben Abdeljalil, we have various options for 2023, especially adventure travel, trekking, and hiking —not necessarily climbing,” Sitail told MWN. The hiker also named Costa Rica as a potential destination for 2023. Mount Kinabalu is the third-highest peak to be found on an island, and 20th most prominent mountain in the world. The mountain is located in Kinabalu National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 2000 for its “outstanding universal values’’ and its “role as one of the most significant biological sites in the world.’’ https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/352133/meet-the-three-moroccan-women-who-conquered-mount-kinabalu
  5. Rabat - The foreign ministers taking part in the preparatory meeting for the Arab League Summit reached a consensus on the high-level event’s agenda on Sunday. Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki confirmed the news to reporters while acknowledging the presence of tensions. However, the assistant secretary said that the tensions were controlled. “All the issues that have been discussed have reached a consensus, and we look forward to a successful summit on November 1 and 2,” he said, stressing that all indicators show that the event will be successful. Zaki denied “disagreement regarding some of the meeting’s terms,” adding that all “tensions were contained,” and touting an “atmosphere of cordiality and respect.” The Arab League official, however, did not provide any details about said “tensions.” Converging reports said that some of the tensions that emerged during the preparation meetings were due to Algeria’s decision to stand against the inclusion of a resolution condemning Iran’s interference in domestic affairs of the region. News channel Al Arabiya reported that the Moroccan delegation demanded a discussion on Iran’s collusion with Polisario, a separatist group that Algeria hosts in the Tindouf camps. The group claims independence for Western Sahara, challenging Morocco’s territorial integrity. Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita denounced Polisario’s collusion with Iran, accusing the Iranian government of supplying the separatist group with drones. Bourita traveled to Algiers last week along with a Moroccan delegation to participate in the Arab League preparation meeting. Ramtane Lamamra, Algeria’s Foreign Minister, reportedly refused Morocco’s proposal, which Bourita protested. “You don’t have the right to refuse,” Bourita said, recalling that “there is a vote and a consensus.” This is not the first time that Morocco has had to warn the Arab community about Iran’s interference in the region’s domestic affairs. The North African country cut ties with Iran, accusing its proxy Hezbollah of arming and training the Polisario Front. Morocco emphasized that it backed its claims with extensive reports detailing meetings held in Algeria between Hezbollah and Polisario officials. The Arab ministerial committee has frequently denounced Iran’s interference in Arab countries’ domestic affairs. The ministerial committee renewed solidarity with Morocco on the sidelines of the 158th session of the council of the Arab League that took place on September 6 in Cairo. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/352134/fms-reach-consensus-on-arab-league-summits-agenda
  6. Between rumors and official announcements of games like the new Iron Man game from Motive Studios, we’ve known EA and Marvel Games are getting cozy, but today they made it official. EA and Marvel have signed a deal to create three action-adventure games for PC and consoles. Each promises to tell its own original story, rather than being based on a movie, TV series, or other property. Marvel Games executive VP Jay Ong had the following to say about the deal… “At Marvel, we strive to find best-in-class teams who can take our characters on heroic journeys in ways they haven’t before and collaborating with Electronic Arts will help us achieve that. We pride ourselves on being enthusiastic, creative collaborators with developers so they have the freedom to create something deeply unique and truly remarkable. The team at Motive is getting started on that with their Iron Man video game and we can’t wait for players to learn more in the far future.” So, what can we expect from this trio of EA Marvel games? Well, aside from the Motive Iron Man game, there’s rumored to be a Black Panther game in the works at a new Seattle-based EA studio headed up by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor veterans. Of course, the Black Panther project is yet to be confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt for now. Turning our attention back to the Iron Man game, the game is reportedly coming along well, and is rumored to already be entering early play-testing. The game is being headed up by Olivier Proulx, who previously worked at Eidos Montreal on games like Guardians of the Galaxy, so clearly he has the requisite Marvel expertise. What do you think? Are you excited for EA’s trio of Marvel titles? What properties should they tackle? https://wccftech.com/ea-marvel-games-partner-3-new-action-adventure-games/

  8. Ever since we reported the first case of an NVIDIA 16-pin connector melting on the GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, there have been various discoveries. Now several days after the issues were first reported, it looks like GamersNexus and Igor's Lab have finally got to the bottom of the issue. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090's Adapter Is To Blame, But Not All of Them! 300V 14AWG Cable Runs Perfectly Well, 150V Leads To Melting While NVIDIA and its AIB partners are working to resolve the 16-pin connector issues, the PC tech community is hard at work to find out the real cause of the issue. In the previous report, we got to know that it was definitely the adapter that was responsible for the melting and not the card or the plug on the card itself. The 16-pin connector got really hot when proper contact was not made or if the cable was bent too much. This led to an excessive amount of current passing through the cable which further led to higher temperatures and the resultant melting occurred. Steve Burke at GamersNexus has now discovered that while the cables themselves are the issue, it is not all cables that can lead to the burning or melting of the card. The tech outlet spotted that all of their cables were labeled as "300V 14AWG" while the ones that were shown by Igor's were rated at 150V. That's a vast difference. But not just that, there was also a difference in the solder between the two cables. Since both outlets ripped the connector off, it was found out that the 300V cables use high-quality soldering whereas, on the 150V, each cable line is soldered individually & with a smaller soldering surface that can lead to damage while bending. This must explain why the cable in Igor's case came out loose. The cable used by Steve (GamersNexus) and Ronaldo (TecLab) was able to resist torture through various endurance and durability tests. Both GamersNexus and TecLab also ran the cable for hours under load. In GamersNexus's case, their NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards were run for over 48 hours under load while TecLab had their 16-pin adapter cable running under a load tester with a 1530W sustained load. So this leads us to the conclusion that there are just bad cables that are causing the issue but why they are there in the first place is something that only NVIDIA and its AIBs have the answer of. There's no way of knowing which cable you get unless you pull off the sleeve a bit. In the case that you did get a 150V 16-pin cable, you can ask the manufacturer for a replacement with the proper 300V cable. The good thing is that there aren't a large number of users who received the 150V 16-pin cable. NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card is now with thousands of gamers and while there are less than 20 reports of the card melting up, they are still enough to be a concern. Based on surveys conducted by HardwareLuxx and GamersNexus, it looks like the number of users who got the 150V adapter is under 7%. So the vast majority of gamers who have the 300V adapters shouldn't worry too much but it is still advised to check your cable to see if it's definitely the good one or not. We already checked 7 of the cables that came with our samples (FE, SUPRIM X, SUPRIM Liquid, Vulcan X, TUF Gaming, AORUS Master, SG) & all of them are rated at 300V. You can also tell us in the comments below what cable you got with your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (FE or AIB) card if you own one. https://wccftech.com/nvidia-16-pin-adapter-comes-in-two-flavors-300v-is-good-for-geforce-rtx-4090-but-150v-is-a-fire-hazard/
  9. Rabat - Following yesterday’s crowd surge in Korea that resulted in 153 casualties, Morocco’s embassy in Seoul issued a statement on Sunday explaining that no Moroccan nationals were identified among the victims of the deadly stampede. “The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Seoul announces to all members of the Moroccan community in the Republic of Korea that it is in permanent contact with the country's authorities and that no Moroccan is among the victims,” the statement reads. As part of efforts to monitor the tragedy as it unfolds, the Moroccan embassy has made two emergency numbers available to the Moroccan community in South Korea, a landline: +82-2 792 7097, and a mobile number: +8210-31537-7097. The tragedy occurred yesterday night during a street celebration of Halloween in an alley in the Itaewon district. As thousands of people flocked to the alley in celebration, the crowd surge left 153 dead. “Someone fell in the narrow alley triggering a stampede in the crowd and people piled on top of each other,” South Korean news agency Yonhap reported. Among the victims of the tragedy, 20 dead foreign nationals have been identified. The list of foreign victims includes nationals from Iran, Uzbekistan, China, and Norway. Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said on Sunday that it had received about 355 missing person reports following the deadly stampede. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol announced that an investigation will be launched to investigate the stampede. Lamenting the tragedy, Yoon said that it “should not have happened,” adding that the government would investigate the incident “rigorously” to determine the causes of the disaster. The Korean president said that yesterday's crowd surge is one of the worst tragedies in South Korea's recent history. 10. Jeep customers have been known, a time or two, to modify their vehicles. As the brand adds EVs to its lineup, this isn't expected to change. At least, not if the Electromod CJ Surge concept for the 2022 SEMA show has anything to say about it. The big deal here is an Electric Drive Module that provides energy through battery modules and power through a 200-kW motor. The customizers of tomorrow could also opt for the CJ Surge's four-wheel-drive system and two-speed transfer case. Visually, the CJ Surge combines Copper Canyon body paint with gloss black and Surf Blue accents, with a sprinkling of EV touches here and there. As the Jeep brand moves deeper into electric vehicles in the real world, Mopar is bringing an "[exploration of] an efficient battery-electric propulsion system of the future" called the Electromod CJ Surge concept to the SEMA show this year. The EV hints at the tremendous options that Jeep thinks enthusiasts will want as they customize their future cars. Basic and blocky in black and orange, the CJ Surge combines classic Jeep design with next-level EV do-it-yourself thinking. Unsurprising, since this is coming from Mopar, Stellantis's parts and accessories arm. Most exciting here is the powertrain. A scalable 400-volt, 200-kW Electric Drive Module sits at the heart of a modular system that could be installed in classic Jeeps. In the CJ Surge, the customized four-wheel-drive system uses a two-speed Jeep transfer case with selectable gearing. Mounted in the rear of the passenger cabin sit 24 lithium-ion battery modules of unspecified capacity, but we're not worried about made-up potential range numbers for a one-off concept like this. Instead, the CJ Surge is about the pieces that were used to make it. On the visual front, that includes the Copper Canyon body, gloss black and Surf Blue Surge graphics, and oversize concept fender flares, all of which make for an appealing Jeep EV you could easily imagine driving along the ocean. All-terrain 35-inch BFGoodrich tires with 18-by-9.0-inch Black Rhino Solid wheels have plenty of travel room thanks to a two-inch lift kit. Other exterior design features of note include a Jeep Performance Parts Wrangler JK Rubicon Bumper Kit with a front winch, Surf Blue tow hooks, and amber LED fog lamps. EV-specific items include a custom charge port and a Mopar gauge that shows the battery's state of charge. That gauge sits above a Wrangler JK center console with a rotary shifter knob. The two seats—custom, of course, with black Sedoso cloth, houndstooth fabric inserts and Surf Blue stitching—sit on top of concept seat risers for elevated viewing. The driver gets to control a custom steering wheel with a unique JPP horn pad badge. The roll cage and fabric top are both custom-made for this concept. Much More Mopar SEMA runs November 1–4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Aside from the Surge concept, Mopar is bringing another 10 concepts or modified vehicles including the Ram 1500 Backcountry X and TRX Gold Shot, along with eight Jeep custom vehicles that are making their SEMA debut this year. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a41809891/jeep-cj-surge-concept-sema-specs-details/
  11. Rabat - Morocco’s economic growth is estimated to have reached 1.8% at the end of the third quarter of 2022, down from the 2% recorded the previous quarter. According to a report from Morocco’s economic intelligence center, the Higher Commission for Planning (HCP), the drop in the overall national economic activities is happening against a backdrop of a severe decline in the added value of agriculture. The added value of agriculture dropped by 15.2%. Excluding agriculture, economic activities have grown by 3.7%, down from the 4.2% recorded the previous quarter. The de-accelerated growth is largely due to the slowdown in secondary industries, industries that convert raw materials provided by primary industries into commodities and consumer products. The HCP report further explains that the decline in the added value of agriculture is expected to average nearly 16% at the end of 2022. However, growth in non-agricultural activities is expected to partially offset that, and economic growth would average 1.4% in the fourth quarter of 2022. Noting the situation in the global market, the HCP report explains that economic activities continued to slow down in the third quarter of 2022 amid continuing supply disruptions and inflation. As a result of the international slowdown in activities, foreign demand for Moroccan-made goods equally regressed, growing at 4.3% in the third quarter of 2022, compared to 7.3% in the previous quarter. Regarding commodity prices, HCP maintains that despite the slight recovery in July and August, prices have remained high. The price of Brent crude averaged $99.2 a barrel in Q3 2022, down from $112.7 a barrel a quarter earlier. The price of crude oil remains 36% up year-on-year. Natural gas prices in Europe skyrocketed in Q3 of 2022 triggered by concerns about energy shortage. Gas prices reached a staggering $60/MMBtu (Metric Million British Thermal Unit), up from $17/MMBtu a year earlier. The price of agricultural products rose at a slower rate in Q3 of 2022, rising by 8.5% against 21.4% in the second quarter. In light of this data, inflation rates reached 9.1% in the eurozone and 8.3% in the United States in August 2022. 12. Rabat - Contrary to popular opinion, video games could be linked to enhanced cognitive abilities for children, a new study suggests. The study found that three hours a day of computer gaming improves a range of cognitive skills including those relating to impulse control and working memory. Funded by the US National Institute of Health, the study was conducted on nearly 2,000 children. After a series of tests measuring cognitive abilities, researchers concluded that children who played three hours of computer games every day performed better than those who had never played video games. After dividing the 2,000 children aged nine and 10 into two groups based on whether or not they play video games, they concluded that gamers performed the tasks in a shorter period of time and scored higher than the control group. In addition, brain imagery showed that the brains of game players had higher levels of activity in the regions where attention and memory processing occurs. Researchers believe the differences are the direct result of gamers’ practice of tasks that trigger impulse control and memory while gaming. “This study adds to our growing understanding of the associations between playing video games and brain development,” Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse Nora Volkow said in a statement reported by Euronews. “Numerous studies have linked video gaming to behavior and mental health problems. This study suggests that there may also be cognitive benefits associated with this popular pastime, which are worthy of further investigation,” she added. Despite the conclusive evidence, researchers from the study assert that this study should not be interpreted as establishing a causality relationship between gaming and enhanced cognitive skills; it is possible that children with better cognitive skills tend to opt for playing video games. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/351992/toulouse-airports-winter-schedule-includes-seven-moroccan-destinations
  13. Rabat - Morocco’s delegation taking part in the working meeting of foreign ministers in preparation of the Arab League Summit has been facing provocative actions from Algeria’s organizing committee. Algerian journalist and analyst Oualid Kebir said, quoting Algerian sources attending the event. “This has nothing to do with Algerians’ ethics and principles, because what the regime has done today is far from the principles of hospitality,” Kebir told Morocco World News. The Algerian journalist also confirmed that Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita was not received by his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra upon his arrival, which goes against diplomatic protocols. “The minister did not give Bourita an appropriate reception similar to what happened in September when Morocco received Algeria’s Minister of Justice Abderrachid Tebbi, who carried Algeria’s invitation for King Mohammed VI for the Arab League summit,” Kebir said. Bourita received the Algerian minister in a reception in Rabat on the instructions of King Mohammed VI. “What happened is shameful for Algeria,” the journalist added. Bourita led a delegation to Algiers on Saturday to take part in the foreign ministers meeting in preparation of the Arab League Summit. Many sources claimed that the Moroccan delegation left the meeting following provocations they faced in Algiers. An authorized source, however, denied the allegations promoted by Algerian media. The source stressed that it is “not part of the rules and norms of Moroccan diplomatic work, according to the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to leave the meeting hall, but rather to defend Morocco's legitimate rights and vital interests from within the corridors of meetings.” Instead, the Moroccan delegation protested the provocative moves, including the decision of an Algerian media outlet to display a divided Moroccan map on its website. Algerian news outlet AL24 News published the map, contradicting the one adopted by the Arab League summit. In response, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States said that the institution’s official map does not show borders separating Arab countries. The secretariat adopts a map of the Arab world without showing the borders in order to enhance the concept of Arab unity, the secretariat general emphasized, calling on all media outlets to exercise caution in attributing information published on their websites to the Arab League or its institutions. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/352122/arab-league-moroccan-delegation-did-not-leave-meeting-protests-algerian-provocations

  14. YouTuber "Golden Reviewer" has uploaded video evidence of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 running the massively popular Genshin Impact at an unbelievable 13K resolution. Genshin Impact can be played at 13K resolution with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Card Ten days ago, Golden Reviewer uploaded a video showing the Genshin Impact game running at a resolution of 7K on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. His PC specs are listed below: Golden Reviewer is running the above Genshin Impact test at 6880 x 2880 resolution with the graphics settings to the highest quality throughout. He has also unlocked the frames per second limitations so that the game can offer above 60 fps. While this is not an integrated benchmark test of the system and components, he provides the information throughout the video to show the quality at such a high resolution. While Genshin Impact is a mobile and PC title, it does not stress the system as more graphics-heavy titles would, such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Marvel's Spider-Man video games. Yesterday, the YouTuber posted images of Genshin Impact running at an incredibly high screen resolution on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. He stated that he placed Genshin Impact at the highest settings possible without completely ruining the image and gameplay. The screen resolution is 13760 x 5760, There was no AI-based upscaling involved such as DLSS but if the game is able to integrate such support, then we can see even better performance while retaining the visual quality. abnormal for everyday use and gaming PC displays. The Alienware 34" quantum dot display this writer uses is paired with the GeForce RTX 3080, and without any adjustments, the highest display resolution is 3440 x 1440 px. I did attempt to downscale my screen to achieve a higher result, but the highest I could comfortably do without experience was double my maximum settings (6880 x 2880 px). During the video, he mentions that he received the most frames per second (on average) at 30fps. In Genshin Impact, it allows you to take a screenshot and save it to your system. Golden Reviewer states that the megapixels of the image is roughly 80MP, and the file size was 86MB. Zooming in on fine details, the quality he received with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU is impressive. Downsampling is a process that can offer similar results, especially on older systems, such as this writers. My editor challenged me to find the resources myself so that I could conduct a similar test. The key takeaways I received in playing around with downsampling were these few details: In making custom resolutions via my NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU settings, I am immediately warned that if anything goes wrong with the display, GPU, and more, I have voided my warranty and will never see another replacement until I provide one myself. So, as a user that rediscovered gaming and works in the technology field where we test things like this, risks arise, and it is understandable. But, if you are new to this, think twice before downsampling because if things do go wrong, you will have to buy replacement components for whatever was ruined. I have two monitors so I can set one monitor to the primary and only used display, but I have a little experience with this and consider that. The higher resolutions I tried past 6880 x 2880, the screen zoomed in so far that only a few of the many icons on my desktop appeared. The screen to ask if I accept the new settings was missing, as it was somewhere inaccessible to me. Luckily, the system has a failsafe; if you do not accept the new settings, it reverts to the previous ones. The most important thing to remember is not to press "Enter/Return," as that will immediately accept the new settings, and you will have to figure out how to revert the settings to normal. In this case, don't panic and start hitting random buttons when the screen flickers or goes to black, or you will be stuck until you find out how to reset the settings. Lastly, I know Genshin Impact is not the most labor-intensive game for my system, so my concern about downsampling was minimized. Had I tested this on some of the games I mentioned in this report, the GPU would be more strained. So, again, please use caution before trying this out with other game titles (if you decide this is something you want to do with your PC system). https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-runs-genshin-impact-at-13k-resolution/

  16. Detailed configurations of Intel's 14th Gen Meteor Lake-S and 15th Gen Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs have been leaked, giving us information about the various SKUs, core counts, TDPs & the integrated graphics configuration. Intel Meteor Lake-S CPUs To Feature 6 Performance Cores, Arrow Lake-S With 8 P-Cores On LGA 1851 Socket According to an internal Intel chart, the details of their 14th Gen and 15th Gen Desktop CPUs have leaked out. We know from previous reports that Intel is preparing a new socket known as "V" that will offer support for at least two generations of desktop CPUs, the Meteor Lake-S and Arrow Lake-S. This socket will be very similar in dimensions to the existing LGA 1700/1800 socket but will offer more pins and added support for new/enhanced features. Based on the leaked slides, it looks like Intel's 14th Gen Meteor Lake-S Desktop CPUs will take a step back and reduce the number of P-Cores while retaining the number of E-Cores. The lineup listed in the charts includes five different SKU configurations with the top variants featuring up to 22 cores in a combination of 6 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores. The P-Cores on the Meteor Lake CPUs are based on the brand-new Redwood Cove architecture while the E-Cores will utilize the Crestmont design. Both of these are new and improved architecture as reported by Coelacanth-Dream a few days back. The full list of configurations includes: In addition to the SKUs, we also get to learn that all SKUs will feature at least 4 Xe Cores for the iGPU and that's going to offer 64 Execution Units or 512 ALUs. That's 2 Xe Cores less than the DG2-powered Arc A310 graphics card which is the lowest-tier discrete board in the family but an integrated GPU with this much capability will be on par or even better than the RDNA 2 iGPU on AMD's Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs. Only the top die configuration will have a 125W "Unlocked" SKU range while the rest will come in the standard "Non-K" and "T" series with 65W and 35W TDPs. Moving on, we have the 15th Gen Arrow Lake-S Desktop CPUs which will bring back the 24 cores that we get on Raptor Lake CPUs today. The Arrow Lake-S top die will utilize up to 24 cores which will be a combination of 8 Performance Cores and 16 Efficiency Cores. Following is the full list of SKUs to expect from the lineup: The difference with the Arrow Lake-S lineup is that all of the configurations feature the top 24 core die and the only difference is the TDP itself. It is likely that lower core count SKUs will be derived from these dies. Intel also seems to have retained the 4 Xe Cores from the Meteor Lake lineup but we expect these to feature a brand new Arc graphics architecture. The 14th Gen Meteor Lake chips are based on a TSMC 5nm GPU architecture while the 15th Gen Arrow Lake CPUs will utilize a TSMC 3nm graphics architecture, as we reported here. We can't say for sure if Intel will retain the number of ALUs and EUs as the existing Alchemist chips on its future integrated GPUs but the Arrow Lake-P parts are expected to offer up to 2560 Xe Cores which is a 5x increase over the integrated GPUs on the desktop parts. During its recent investors call, Intel said that they are progressing really well on their Intel 4 & Intel 3 products. The 14th Gen Meteor Lake production stepping is scheduled to be delivered this quarter with a volume ramp in 2023 while Intel 3 is also expected to enter the early production phase by the end of 2023. Do note that these are early charts and we are still years away from the launch of Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake CPUs. https://wccftech.com/intel-14th-gen-meteor-lake-s-22-cores-15th-gen-arrow-lake-s-24-cores-desktop-lga-1851-platform/

  18. Rabat - The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) kicked off its activities for the Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2022 on October 28. “The world is sending a clear message: Media and Information literacy is an imperative to nurture trust, freedom, peace and solidarity,” the UNESCO’s website reads. Media and information literacy has been cited as one of the most important factors to bringing about positive social change, especially as the online media landscape keeps evolving rapidly. Media literacy refers to the ability to identify different types of media and understand the messages they’re sending. “But all media shares one thing: Someone created it,” Common Sense Media, a nonprofit organization, says. “And it was created for a reason. Understanding that reason is the basis of media literacy.” As internet penetration increases in Africa and the MENA region, media literacy is starting to emerge as one of the most important concerns for people getting information from social media. A recent survey by international consulting agency MARCO found that half of Moroccans, for example, said they frequently consult Facebook and Whatsapp for information and news. In that context, it becomes vital for people to be aware of different sources and be able to unpack biases as they continue getting their information online, especially during election periods where actors might have more incentives to spread their (potentially misleading) ideas. Common Sense Media encourages critical thinking among readers, and responsible media creation among creators. As media consumption becomes more prevalent in our world, experts are increasingly recommending that media literacy be taught starting at very young ages in primary schools. In the Arab World, UNESCO is focusing on women’s role by organizing a workshop with Cairo University to shed light on the role of Egyptian women in promoting media literacy. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/10/352115/unesco-highlights-importance-of-media-literacy
