  4. A massive door-knocking operation driven by dedicated volunteers is how Harris officials hope to rival Trump’s “lean” efforts in the rural parts of Pennsylvania. WAYNE, Pa. — Brooke Rusenko woke up the morning after the 2016 presidential election and, distraught, felt she hadn’t done enough to stop Donald Trump from winning. She resolved that from that point forward, she’d show up. Last week, Rusenko, a part-time lawyer, flew from her home in Northern California to volunteer for Kamala Harris’ campaign in the crucial suburban counties that ring Philadelphia. She has joined volunteers from all over the U.S. and overseas who have descended on a bustling field office in the storied Main Line suburbs west of the city. They left jobs and families behind to knock on doors, make phone calls, fold and package literature — anything to improve Harris’ chances even to the slightest degree. “Waking up when Donald Trump won the election was one of the worst feelings I had in my whole life,” Rusenko, 41, said in an interview. “I had wished I had done more, and I hadn’t. I felt I had let myself down by not working harder, and I’ve vowed not let that happen again.” In the critical suburbs of Philly, Harris volunteers hunt for winnable Republicans
  5. The Philippine tarsier (Carlito syrichta), known locally as mawumag in Cebuano and other Visayan languages, and magô in Waray, is a species of tarsier endemic to the Philippines. It is found in the southeastern part of the archipelago, particularly on the islands of Bohol, Samar and Leyte. It is a member of the approximately 45-million-year-old family Tarsiidae, whose name is derived from its elongated "tarsus" or ankle bone. Formerly a member of the genus Tarsius, it is now listed as the only member of the genus Carlito, a new genus named after the conservationist Carlito Pizarras. Its geographic range also includes Maripipi Island, Siargao Island, Basilan Island and Dinagat Island.[1] Tarsiers have also been reported in Sarangani, although they may be different subspecies. 6. Rain accumulates in the autumnal canopy above, drumming the fresh-stretched soft top in sporadic falls. Wipers set low, water sweeps off the unblemished glass in thick, heavy streams. Coursing wider with volume, their popcorn distortions open to an acetate clarity; how satisfying. I’ve five hours until I’m due to return this 1994 Porsche 968 Convertible, and though I’ve already run more than a thousand kilometres this week, I intend to make the most of the final few. Granted, ‘making the most’ is a matter of perspective. This week has brought this 968’s first significant mileage since it was pulled from two years’ slumber, and though the fresh Pirellis are surely broken in by now, the tires’ usual dry reverberative murmur is drowned by a sharp wash of the wheel wells. It’s much too wet for anything too confident, and come on — they’re Pirellis. Roads empty as they are, however, there’s no traffic to make modest speeds feel slow. In other cars’ place is an open freedom, a comfortable enjoyment. There’s plenty to savour in running the 968 gently, and more personally, I simply relish the novelty of its familiarity. The 968 is, after all, an evolution of my own daily-driver Porsche 944; there’s no edge to learn, just steady continuity from 100,000 ticks’ experience around a similar odometer. I feel no need to push this car; it’s enough to quiet the mind and roll out some quality time. Of course (and as is so often the way) what I find a charming familiarity was to contemporaries a commercial failure. The Porsche 968 struggled to sell in its time, its mere 12,780 units now largely relegated to niche enthusiast memory. Awkwardly styled atop a platform by then a decade past its prime, this is transaxle-era Porsche-ing at its most refined — too bad the world had already moved on. 7. The Indian cricket team has already lost its ongoing home Test series to New Zealand. In the three-match affair, the Rohit Sharma-led side trails 0-2 against the visitors with a game to go. It also turned out to be India's first Test series loss on home soil in 12 years. Talks of India's dominance at home were put to rest by the Blackcaps, who fetched the best of the conditions on offer. While the hosts' defeat has put them under severe criticism, former South Africa captain and batter AB de Villiers has pointed out that there is nothing wrong with India. De Villiers, in fact, said that New Zealand's win is a result of the touring team's brilliance in adapting to the new conditions. The cricketing great also cited the example of Virat Kohli for the batter's impressive performance on South African soil to back his opinion. "When you go to India, Indian players are the best players of spin, it is perceived to be, doesn't always mean that it is a fact that all the batters are the best players of spin in the world. When you get a turning wicket and you get a good bowler, no matter how good of a player you are, you will be under pressure. If the batter has got the mind and skill and the ability, you can score runs in any conditions in the world," said de Villiers on his YouTube channel. 8. Lifestyle is the interests, opinions, behaviours, and behavioural orientations of an individual, group, or culture.[1][2] The term was introduced by Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler in his 1929 book, The Case of Miss R., with the meaning of "a person's basic character as established early in childhood".[3] The broader sense of lifestyle as a "way or style of living" has been documented since 1961.[3] Lifestyle is a combination of determining intangible or tangible factors. Tangible factors relate specifically to demographic variables, i.e. an individual's demographic profile, whereas intangible factors concern the psychological aspects of an individual such as personal values, preferences, and outlooks. A rural environment has different lifestyles compared to an urban metropolis. Location is important even within an urban scope. The nature of the neighborhood in which a person resides affects the set of lifestyles available to that person due to differences between various neighborhoods' degrees of affluence and proximity to natural and cultural environments. For example, in areas near the sea, a surf culture or lifestyle can often be present. Lifestyle
  9. Ballot drop boxes in Portland, Oregon, and neighboring Vancouver, Washington, were set on fire early Monday morning, police said, just over a week out from Election Day. Local officials said three ballots were damaged in Portland while potentially “hundreds” were affected in Vancouver. The Portland Police Bureau said an "incendiary device" was placed inside of a sidewalk ballot box in the Central City district. By the time officers responded to reports at about 3:30 a.m. local time, security personnel in the area had extinguished the flames. "Officers determined an incendiary device was placed inside the ballot box and used to ignite the fire," a statement from the Portland police read, adding that the bureau's Explosive Disposal Unit removed the mechanism. Portland police were continuing to investigate the incident. A statement from the Multnomah County election office said that "fire suppressant inside the ballot box protected virtually all the ballots." 10. The Red Magic 9 Pro by nubia has arrived early this year, probably due to Qualcomm making its top-tier chipset available earlier than usual. Either way, this year's top-tier gaming smartphone from Red Magic is out, and it comes along with a slew of meaningful upgrades. A worthy generational improvement. In addition to the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC on board, the handset boasts a brighter display, twice the standard storage, a new 50MP ultrawide camera, a bigger battery, and the global variant finally gets USB 3.2 Gen2. To handle the powerful chip, nubia has once again upgraded the cooling solution, now called ICE 13. It incorporates a 10-layer heat dissipation sheet with a bigger surface, and the cooling fan now goes up to 22,000 RPM while reducing noise emissions. The handset also boasts upgrades to the stereo speaker setup, more gaming features, better LED lighting around, including the shoulder triggers, and a slimmer design. That last bit is impressive, given the 500 mAh battery increase over the last generation. So, without further ado, let's see how the new Red Magic 9 Pro runs games and how well it fares in our usual set of tests. ZTE nubia Red Magic 9 Pro - Full phone specifications
  11. EaseUS is one of the biggest names in the world of data recovery software, and its Data Recovery Wizard has been around since 2005. So, after such a long time, you'd hope it's a top option when it comes to photo recovery. Its set of features certainly suggests that it'll get the job done. It can hunt through conventional hard disks and even damaged operating systems for photos, and it supports more file and device types than virtually every rival. It's even got a generous free version alongside powerful paid options. For added security, we've tested and rated the best data loss prevention services and the best photo cloud storage solutions. There's no doubt that EaseUs Data Recovery Wizard has a good range of features, especially if you want to hunt down and restore photos or videos – but you'll have to pay for the privilege. If you want to unlock Data Recovery Wizard's full range of features you'll have to pay either $70 / £49 per month or $100 / £80 for a year of access and a year of upgrades – the latter obviously offers far better value. EaseUS are also currently offering a 10% discount for new sign ups. If you plan to use the data recovery app often, there's a product that offers lifetime upgrades for a one-off price of $149.95 / £121. All prices are exclusive of VAT. We'd also recommend looking at EaseUS's bundle offers, because you can combine Data Recovery Wizard with EaseUS Todo Backup and iPhone utilities to get a 30% discount.. A free version of Data Recovery Wizard is available, but this is not suitable unless you only need basic functionality. While the free product does restore files from hard drives, SSDs and external HDDs, you don't get NAS support, remote assistance or any of its photo and video repair functionality. Previously EaseUS' free trial was just for 30-days and offered scanning but no actual recovery capabilities, which seemed pretty cruel. It appears the developers have listened to user feedback since then, as the free version now allows you to recover up to 2GB of data. We had a hard time squaring this free allowance on our tests, as after attempting to recover a 100MB folder on a 512MB drive just three times, our allowance was reduced to around 200MB. It's possible the 2GB limit may apply to the size of the drive being scanned instead of the amount of data recovered. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro review | TechRadar

  13. Another Code: Recollection[a] is a 2024 puzzle adventure game developed by Arc System Works and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Released worldwide on January 19, 2024, it is a remake of two point-and-click adventure games originally developed by Cing: 2005 Nintendo DS title Another Code: Two Memories, and 2009 Wii title Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories.[1] Players control protagonist Ashley Mizuki Robins as she searches for her father in Blood Edward Island, and clues of her mother in Lake Juliet two years later. Along with updated visuals and gameplay, the remake's versions of these titles saw several narrative changes to streamline their respective stories, with the plot of the latter game also diverging heavily from the original. Another Code: Recollection is a puzzle adventure game in a three-dimensional graphics, and players control protagonist Ashley Mizuki Robins to explore and solve puzzles in Blood Edward Island (Two Memories) and Lake Juliet (Journey into Lost Memories) in a third-person view.[2] In both stories, through Ashley, the players own a "DAS" (Dual Another System), a handheld device that resembles the Nintendo Switch,[c] which has a camera functionality, access to photos and character biographies, and scan QR coded origami crane messages. In addition, the "DAS" unlocks card reader locks around Lake Juliet via "RAS" (Reboot Another System), a wristband-like device Ashley receives at the beginning of the latter game.[d] Interaction with the non-player characters still retains the visual novel style segment from the original games, but with the addition of the voice acting, fully 3D models and comic book-style panel and speech bubbles.[3] The remake introduces an optional escalating hint system, where it hints the player if they ever get stuck or missed a puzzle.[4] Another Code: Recollection - Wikipedia
  14. AFK Journey by Lilith Games and published by Farlight Games released on March 27th, 2024 and since that time millions of players have hopped in between the PC and mobile version to get in on the ground floor of the next big gacha hero collector. Previously, I touched on some early impressions from my time between PAX East and my experience with the early post-launch game. Now as I reach the end of the journey so far, it’s time to look back with a candid take on whether my time spent was worth it, and whether it will be worth it for you in the future. AFK Journey is the direct sequel to the po[CENSORED]r mobile only title AFK Arena which is known for its appealing heroes and hands-off approach to strategy gaming. AFK Journey has taken this formula and a gorgeous canvas art style and expanded into the world of pseudo-MMO, where you can now traverse a large story-driven world where you’ll meet up with other players, join guilds, combat world bosses, and compete against other players and guilds for exciting rewards. AFK Journey manages to do a lot of things right with their wide array of game modes, and it all starts with a familiar feeling story, where you, as the protagonist, find yourself with a bout of amnesia. You’re later found to be Merlin, the most powerful mage in the land, and of course, you quickly assemble a team of fellow heroes to embark on a quest that builds a simplistic story that carries you through numerous chapters. There are points of the story that I found enjoyable, but so much of it played out between talking heads and not through cutscenes, which dissuaded me from expending the energy to watch through each conversation. Many of them were lengthy, simply due to the cadence of speech. AFK Journey Review: Heroes, Guilds, and Gacha - Should You Invest Your Time? | MMORPG.com
