PUBG: Battlegrounds is bringing destructible terrain and buildings to its Sanhok map on December 4. A PC release for this PUBG: Battlegrounds update will arrive first, but console players will have to wait until December 12 to try it for themselves. PUBG: Battlegrounds is one of the oldest titles in the battle royale genre. For many, it remains among the best battle royale games, despite the abundance of titles released in the genre in the years since its 2017 launch. Thanks to its continued po[CENSORED]rity, developer PUBG Studios has been able to keep updating the game with new content to this day. It's great to see a developer not rest on its laurels in the wake of success, instead remaining committed to making PUBG: Battlegrounds the best game it can possibly be. In an explosive trailer, PUBG Studios revealed that destructible environments and buildings are coming to PUBG: Battlegrounds' Sanhok map on December 4. A bridge is blown up, players destroy a small town in the heat of combat, new ditches are made in the grass for players to use as cover, and there's even a wall being breached with explosives. It's an epic look at what players can expect when they hop back into Sakhok upon the release of this update. PUBG: Battlegrounds already requires tons of tactical nous to succeed, but this is sure to raise the skill ceiling even higher. December 4 is Going to Be a Huge Day For PUBG Fans

Aston Martin has announced it is looking to raise cash as it issued its second profit warning in two months. The UK luxury car maker is now expecting to turn a profit of up to £280m ($352m) in 2024 - below last year's £305.9m. The company, famed for its links to the James Bond movie franchise, says a "minor delay" in deliveries of its ultra-exclusive Valiant models caused the shortfall. Aston Martin had already warned over its profits in September, saying it had been hit by a fall in demand in China, where a slowing economy has affected sales of high-end goods. To bolster its finances, the car maker has said it will issue new shares and debt totalling £210m. "The financing we are undertaking supports our growth and provides the investment to continue with future product innovation," said Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin's chief executive, in a statement. "We are already taking decisive actions to better position the group for the future including a more balanced production and delivery profile." Aston Martin said it now expects to deliver about half of 38 Valiant model orders by the end of the year. It had previously said it would be able to deliver the majority of those cars. UK-listed shares in the high-end car maker have now halved since the beginning of the year. Aston Martin is a prestige brand which makes upmarket cars in relatively small quantities. Last year, it sold 6,620 vehicles, with about a fifth of those going to the Asia-Pacific region. On top of the slowdown in China, it has faced problems at a number of suppliers, which have affected its ability to build a number of new models. As a result, Aston Martin has said it will make about 1,000 fewer cars than originally planned this year. Car makers across Europe have been suffering lately, with disappointing sales and increased competition from abroad taking a heavy toll on earnings. Manchester United had scouts in attendance to watch £70m-valued striker Viktor Gyokeres - and two of his Sporting Lisbon teammates - play Arsenal in the Champions League. Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson is available on loan this January, with the very promising Republic of Ireland international currently unable to get game time under new manager Fabian Hurzeler. Bill Sweeney, the Rugby Football Union chief executive, and chairman Tom Ilube have been told their positions are "not tenable" after reporting significant pay rises in a year dogged by redundancies, financial losses and England defeats. Liverpool have been urged to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo if Mohamed Salah does leave the club at the end of the season. Ruben Amorim's home debut as Manchester United head coach will see twice the usual number of away fans at Old Trafford. Teenage defender Godwill Kukonki is said to be on track to make Manchester United history after catching Amorim's eye. More than 140 million Americans cast their ballots in the 2024 election, with many states breaking previous early voting turnout records on the heels of a historic and highly contentious campaign season. President-elect Donald Trump won a decisive victory in Tuesday’s election with support from some demographic groups who have favored him in the past, as well as wider margins from others that have been traditional Democratic strongholds. According to AP VoteCast, 16 percent of Black voters supported Trump in 2024, up from 8 percent in 2020. In comparison, 83 percent of Black voters supported Kamala Harris, down from the 91 percent who supported Joe Biden in 2020. Democrats also lost ground among Latino voters, with 56 percent voting for Harris in 2024 compared to 63 percent for Biden in 2020. Trump’s support grew from 35 percent in 2020 to 42 percent in 2024. There was a gender gap in 2024’s voting preferences: Trump won support from 24 percent of Black men versus 9 percent of Black women, 47 percent of Latino men versus 38 percent of Latino women, and 59 percent of white men versus 53 percent of white women. Explore how key groups of Americans voted in the 2024 election and the issues that mattered most to them in the interactive below. Interactive: How key groups of Americans voted in 2024 | PBS News

In humans and other animals, ageing is generally associated with a decline in biological function. But scientists are now discovering older animals perform vital roles in po[CENSORED]tions and ecosystems. Unfortunately, however, old animals can suffer the most from human activity such as over-fishing and trophy hunting. And the value of old, wise animals is not usually considered when we manage animal po[CENSORED]tions and seek to protect biodiversity. Our new review, published today in Science, draws on evidence from around the world to argue for a new approach called “longevity conservation”. The loss of old and wise animals has devastating global consequences. Clearly, more must be done to prioritise their survival. Benefits of a long life: Cold-blooded (ectothermic) animals such as fish and reptiles tend to keep growing throughout their life. This means older individuals are generally larger than younger individuals. Being bigger has benefits, especially when it comes to feeding and reproduction. It’s widely known the number of offspring increases with age in fish and many other ectotherms. But it’s only recently been discovered that older mothers of some fish and sea turtles produce exponentially more offspring as time goes on. Their young may also have better chances of survival. Survival rates are can be higher in offspring from older mothers in other species too. For example, in birds older parents and their helpers often provide more food and better habitat for their chicks, improving fledgling survival rates. Females from a range of species tend to select older males as mates. These males commonly assume crucial social roles, such as leading long distance movements like migration, and regulating social structures, such as reducing aggressive behaviour. These behaviours influence decision-making with direct consequences for group and offspring survival. Humans are killing off the old and wise animals that hold nature together. Here’s what must change

The increase in real GDP primarily reflected increases in consumer spending, exports, federal government spending, and nonresidential fixed investment. Imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, increased (table 2). Compared to the second quarter, the deceleration in real GDP in the third quarter primarily reflected a downturn in private inventory investment and a larger decrease in residential fixed investment. These movements were partly offset by accelerations in exports, consumer spending, and federal government spending. Imports accelerated. Current‑dollar GDP increased 4.7 percent at an annual rate, or $337.6 billion, in the third quarter to a level of $29.35 trillion, an upward revision of $4.4 billion from the previous estimate (tables 1 and 3). More information on the source data that underlie the estimates is available in the "Key Source Data and Assumptions" file on BEA’s website (available at 10:00 a.m.). The price index for gross domestic purchases increased 1.9 percent in the third quarter, an upward revision of 0.1 percentage point from the previous estimate. The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index increased 1.5 percent, the same as previously estimated. Excluding food and energy prices, the PCE price index increased 2.1 percent, a downward revision of 0.1 percentage point. Personal Income Current-dollar personal income increased $175.9 billion in the third quarter, a downward revision of $45.3 billion from the previous estimate. The increase primarily reflected an increase in compensation (table 8). Disposable personal income increased $122.9 billion, or 2.3 percent, in the third quarter, a downward revision of $43.1 billion from the previous estimate. Real disposable personal income increased 0.8 percent, a downward revision of 0.8 percentage point. Personal saving was $934.4 billion in the third quarter, a downward revision in change of $34.0 billion from the previous estimate. The personal saving rate—personal saving as a percentage of disposable personal income—was 4.3 percent in the third quarter, a downward revision of 0.5 percentage point. Gross Domestic Income and Corporate Profits Real gross domestic income (GDI) increased 2.2 percent in the third quarter, compared with an increase of 2.0 percent (revised) in the second quarter. The average of real GDP and real GDI, a supplemental measure of U.S. economic activity that equally weights GDP and GDI, increased 2.5 percent in the third quarter, the same as in the second quarter (table 1). Profits from current production (corporate profits with inventory valuation and capital consumption adjustments) decreased $10.2 billion in the third quarter, in contrast to an increase of $132.5 billion in the second quarter (table 10). Profits of domestic financial corporations decreased $2.6 billion in the third quarter, in contrast to an increase of $42.5 billion in the second quarter. Profits of domestic nonfinancial corporations increased $30.8 billion, compared with an increase of $108.8 billion. Rest-of-the-world profits decreased $38.3 billion, compared with a decrease of $18.8 billion. In the third quarter, receipts decreased $52.5 billion, and payments decreased $14.2 billion. Updates to GDP The second estimate reflects upward revisions to private inventory investment, nonresidential fixed investment, state and local government spending, and residential fixed investment as well as downward revisions to exports, consumer spending, and federal government spending. Imports were revised down. For more information, refer to the Technical Note. For information on updates to GDP, refer to the "Additional Information" section that follows. Marvel Rivals’ developer NetEase Games has revealed a brand-new Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map for the upcoming shooter, offering a stunning backdrop to high-octane gameplay. The Kingdom of Wakanda is a fictional country from Marvel Comics’ lore created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and the sub-Saharan African location is home to Black Panther. First appearing in Fantastic Four #52 in 1966, Wakanda is notably a hub for the powerful metal Vibranium, and Marvel Rivals looks to capitalize on the location's beauty and resources. Due to be released on December 6, the third-person hero shooter will be a free-to-play experience for Marvel fans, boasting 6v6 PvP gameplay. The story at the heart of the spectacle will revolve around Doctor Doom’s encounter with his 2099 counterpart, which causes multiple universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement. Before the game debuts, Net Ease recently previewed Marvel Rivals' post-launch content plans for the year ahead, including season durations, details on the battle pass system, and a confirmed Season 1 debut for January 2025.
