People are advised to limit outdoor activities and check the air quality index before travelling. Use air purifiers both indoors and while travelling. It is also advisable, for people with breathing issues, to keep inhalers ready. The air quality in Delhi has been a major concern for many years, especially during the winter months when a lethal cocktail of pollutants envelops the city. This year too, as we have entered the month of November, the environment in the Delhi-NCR region has already turned into a gas chamber, with AQI levels skyrocketing to as high as 700 in some areas.Changing weather patterns, festive fireworks, agricultural residue burning, and vehicle emissions are adding toxins to the environment, making it unbreathable, especially for people with respiratory problems such as asthma. To safeguard public health, the government is closing schools and advising people to limit outdoor activities. Checking the air quality index before going anywhere is also recommended. Meanwhile, there are some recommended gadgets that can help maintain indoor air quality and prevent breathing problems, protecting you from the perils of Delhi's air pollution. Gadgets to keep you safe from air pollution Air Purifiers: Air purifiers are essential during extreme air pollution episodes, as they help in removing fine particles, allergens, odours, and harmful gases from indoor air. High-quality air purifiers with HEPA filters and activated carbon can help reduce particulate matter and harmful pollutants, providing a safer environment for breathing, especially for people with respiratory issues like asthma. Brands like Dyson and Philips even offer air purifiers at different price ranges, so you can choose one that fits your needs and budget. N99/FFP2 Masks: If you need to go outside, a certified N99 or FFP2 mask can help filter out harmful airborne particles and protect your respiratory health. They help in filtering out harmful airborne particles and protecting your lungs from the dangers of PM2.5 and other pollutants. These masks create a physical barrier that traps toxic air, helping you breathe cleaner and safer. Personal Air Quality Sensors and air Quality Monitors: Wearable air quality sensors can help you monitor the air quality around you and take steps to protect yourself. You can also bring an air quality monitor to measure common air pollutants. These monitors can be used both indoors and outdoors, and can alert us to unsafe pollutant levels, helping us make informed decisions about our indoor air quality and well-being. It's not too difficult to farm COAM—that's Armored Core 6's currency—on Rubicon 3. While repair and ammo costs are a thing, you can replay missions at any time. Plus, if you tailor-make a mech to trash them you'll be flying through repeat runs. My cash cow of choice was Operation Wallclimber, which I chewed through wielding double shotguns —but for a lot of the game's community, the best early-game farm has involved shoving this poor guy into a locker again and again… and again. The mission, titled "Destroy the Tester AC", shows up real early on in the game. It involves zipping to a location and obliterating a student pilot behind the wheel of a Dafeng Tester AC. You're only rewarded a measly 95,000 COAM for your butchery, but you can knock out a run in about two to three minutes. Just some quick napkin math puts that at 1,900,000 COAM an hour, which isn't too shabby if you can endure the repetition—or gunning down the poor guy. In most stories, we'd be playing someone like the student pilot—a plucky underdog out to make a name for themselves. Our mech would be a villain jetting over the horizon, and we'd spend the whole story training to destroy it. But this isn't that kind of game. In true, brutal FromSoftware fashion, the pilot is destined to be little more than a cash pinata. The horrific consequences of 621's actions haven't stopped him from becoming a memed-upon punching bag, though. https://www.pcgamer.com/armored-core-6-players-have-exploded-this-poor-student-pilot-so-many-times-for-a-quick-buck-hes-become-a-meme/

Sudan, a sprawling country in eastern Africa, experienced a turbulent weekend that left more than 180 dead and at least 1,100 injured. According to different international organizations, the deaths occurred as a result of clashes between members of the army and the paramilitary militias known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF, for its acronym in English). So far most of the attacks between the two sides have taken place in the country's capital, Khartoum. But this confrontation on the ground is the result of a long chain of events, tensions, crises and political struggles that have not allowed the country to stabilize since the fall of the Omar al Bashir regime in April 2019. Among the reasons for the resurgence of violence is the lack of dialogue between the two main military leaders who remained in charge of the country to lead the nation towards a civil democracy: Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, head of the RSF and better known as Hemedti, and Abdel Fattah. al Burhan, head of the army and president of the country. But among all the factors that contribute to the internal tension in Sudan, there is a key element: the African country has one of the largest gold reserves on the continent. Only in 2022, and according to the government, Sudan achieved exports close to US$2.5 billion, corresponding to the sale of 41.8 tons of gold. Most of the country's most profitable mines are controlled by Hemedti and RSF militias, which finance their operations by selling the precious metal not only to the Khartoum government but also to other buyers in neighboring countries. "Gold mines have become the main source of income for a country with many economic difficulties. And in these moments of tension they become a strategic objective," Shewit Woldemichael, an expert on Sudan's Crisis issues, explains to BBC Mundo Group. "And above all it has been one of the sources of funding for the RSF and one that the army views with some suspicion," she adds. At the same time, rampant extraction has caused a series of devastating effects in the areas around the mines, with a very high toll of people not only killed by the collapse of the mines, but also sickened by the mercury and arsenic that is used. in the extraction of this metal. But how did gold become this strategic element in the violence that Sudan is experiencing these days? Sudan and its "golden curse" Following the independence of the territories now known as Sudan from British rule, in 1956, a difficult reorganization process began, full of ups and downs. Along this path, the country found the main form of financing in oil production. However, towards the mid-1980s, an independence process began in the south of the country, which concluded in 2011, after fierce conflict and political decision-making, with the creation of the Republic of South Sudan. With that independence, Sudan lost two thirds of the money that came from crude oil exports. The decrease in resources intensified internal tensions between various ethnic groups, militias, and armed groups that coexist in the country. In 2012, it was revealed that an area called Jebel Amir, in the north of the country, could contain enough gold reserves to alleviate the difficult economic situation in the country. "This was clearly seen as a godsend, considering what they had lost with South Sudan," Tufts University Sudan analyst Alex de Waal told the BBC. "But it soon became a curse because what it did was intensify the fight for control of the territory between various sides and gave rise to an uncontrolled gold rush," he adds. According to local records and De Waal himself, tens of thousands of young people flocked to that region of the country to try their luck in shallow mines with rudimentary equipment. Some struck gold and became rich, others were crushed in collapsing pits or sickened by mercury and arsenic poisoning used to process the nuggets of the metal. In 2021, 31 people died after a disused gold mine collapsed in West Kordofan province. And without going any further, on March 31, another 14 people died when another mine collapsed in the north of the country. According to the Sudan University of Science and Technology, in analyzes carried out in watersheds near mining areas in 2020, mercury concentration levels of 2004 parts per million (ppm) and arsenic of 14.23 ppm were found. According to the WHO, the permitted levels are 1 ppm for mercury and 10 ppm for arsenic in water. "The use of cyanide and mercury will definitely lead to an environmental disaster in the country," El Jeili Hamouda Saleh, a professor of environmental law at Bahri University in Khartoum, told local radio. "In the country there are more than 40,000 gold mining sites. Some 60 gold processing companies operate in 13 states of the country, 15 of them in South Kordofan. This is not going to end well, because they do not comply with environmental requirements. ", he pointed out. But it was not the only thing that happened. A tribal leader known as Musa Halil and loyal to Al Bashir took control of the territory after an ethnic cleansing that claimed the lives of more than 800 people residing in the area. Halil began mining for the gold and selling it, not only to the government in Khartoum but also to other buyers. However, in 2017 -after Halil, accused of crimes against humanity, was handed over to the international authorities- Hemedti, leader of the RSF and who had armed himself to defend Al Bashir from any military threat, took control of the exploitation. mining. At that time, income from the sale of gold represented about 40% of the country's exports. Literally a gold mine. "That gold made Hemedti the country's leading metal trader and with it, he also gained control of the border with Chad and Libya," De Waal says. A path to democracy The truth is that, after the fall of Omar al Bashir in 2019 due to a coup carried out by the military, the country was left in the hands of the two men who controlled the armed groups: Hemedti and Al Burhan. "Thanks, among other factors, to the control of gold production, with 70,000 men and more than 10,000 armed pickup trucks, the RSF became the de facto infantry of Sudan, the only force capable of controlling the streets of the capital, Khartoum. , and other cities," says De Waal. In 2021, both leaders promised -in a timid alliance- to start a process that would end in a civil and democratic government for Sudan. "In that alliance, ratified last December, it was clear that the gold production was going to be handed over to the civilian government that was elected. But evidently, the growing power of Hemedti made people around Al Burhan ask to control the actions of the RSF," explains Woldemichael Although he clarifies that there are many forces that also want to participate in the control of gold in northern Sudan "For that reason, the Al Burham-controlled army tried to use the security sector reform negotiations [as part of broader political transition negotiations] to control the RSF, under conditions that Hemedti was not going to accept." , indicated. That was one of the many factors that has escalated the tension to the violent clashes over the weekend. Although other factors still need to be added that may end up destabilizing the country. "As the fighting in Libya subsides, it is expected that many more Darfur fighters who had been fighting in Libya will end up returning, furthering the fight over resources, including gold mines," he noted. For analysts, the truth is that peace will depend above all on the effects of international condemnation of the use of violence in the country. "It is not certain that either side will win outright, so as the casualties on both sides unfortunately increase and therefore internal and international condemnation increases, I think they will decide to negotiate," he concluded. https://www.bbc.com/mundo/noticias-internacional-65297706

Food is connection, eating brings us closer to others and right now it is what we need the most. In difficulties, people look for ways to deal with the changes. These days we know that we must be physically far away, away from our "system" (friends, family) to which we turn when there are difficulties. In these months we have learned to connect in different ways. We do the best we can. One way to deal with situations is through food. Food is emotional, it has been a social connector of the human being for a long time. Offering food is part of the social connection of giving-receiving, creating bonds with others. Inviting someone to eat, to celebrate an event (such as a party, wedding, cocktail) is to generate interpersonal closeness. Patterns of culture, family influence, networking, etc. enter. With food we seek to be good hosts, considerate people, we show our personal beliefs, even religious. Since the beginning of humanity... whoever harvested something shared or exchanged it with his neighbors so that both had variety. Then they sold it... then they started the exchange centers that we now know as markets. Eating brings us closer. From sharing a favorite recipe or launching a new one, presenting a beautiful dish, setting a special table with freshly ironed napkins and taking out our favorite decorations. So even though we are far away, we can connect with the few that are close to us. https://dilmun.mx/blogs/blog/la-comida-es-conexion

A masked doctor leans down into a black plastic body bag, and gently mani[CENSORED]tes the legs of the man inside. "First we determine age, sex and length," he explains. "He's in the putrefaction stage now, because of the water." In a hospital car park in the eastern Libyan city of Derna, the final details of one of its many victims are being carefully checked and logged. This is now one of the most vital jobs here, and one of the most distressing. The man is unrecognisable after spending a week in the sea. His body washed ashore that morning. Expert hands gently probe, looking for identifying marks and taking a DNA swab. That's important, in case there's a family still alive to claim him. More than 10,000 people remain officially missing, according to figures from the UN's Office for the Co-Ordination of Humanitarian Affairs. The Red Crescent has been issuing its own numbers. The UN says the death toll so far stands at some 11,300. The final total remains unclear - although the one thing that is certain is the sheer scale of this catastrophe. Mohammed Miftah knows in his heart his family are among the victims. When he went to find his sister and her husband at their home after the floods, it had been washed away. He's heard nothing from them since. He shows me a video he took as the torrent rose, brown water pouring in through his front door. A car is carried on the current and wedges into the open space, blocking it completely. "I saw cars coming down and I came out running," he recalls. "I thought that was it, that I was going to die. We could see our neighbours waving flashlights. In just a few moments, the lights went out, and they had disappeared. "That was the hardest thing." As international aid begins to arrive in earnest, the Health Minister of Libya's eastern government has announced that four Greek rescue workers were killed in an accident on the road to Derna. Fifteen more were injured. They were on their way to join teams already on the ground from France and Italy. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have also flown in tons of extra supplies. The next step is making sure they're used properly and fairly. Abdullah Bathily, the Head of the UN's International Support Mission in Libya, told BBC Arabic the country now needs to create a transparent mechanism to manage all of its international donations. It's a concern borne from the well-known challenges of coordinating between the government in Tripoli which is internationally recognised, and the eastern Libyan government, which isn't. Back in the centre of Derna there are some points of light amid the mud and debris that has enveloped this city. On one street corner, hundreds of colourful clothes lie scattered in piles. Across the road a huge queue forms as fuel is handed out to survivors. As the donations keep coming, one man arrives and places a box of warm scarves at the feet of an elderly woman. He kisses her head tenderly, as she smiles and begins to choose one. These are Libyans helping Libyans in one of their worst moments of crisis. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-66838559

WhatsApp has begun rolling out support for a new feature that will allow you to log in to your account using the biometric authentication mechanism on your smartphone. The messaging service will soon allow you to create a passkey — a kind of login credential that eliminates the need to use or remember a password — on your device and use it to securely log in to apps and services using the facial recognition or fingerprint scanner on your device. Feature tracker WABetaInfo spotted the new passkey feature on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.4 on Tuesday, that is rolling out to beta users. However, not all users who have updated to the latest beta release will have access to the feature, which is reportedly rolling out to a "limited number of beta testers". Gadgets 360 was unable to access the feature on two different Android smartphones that are both enrolled in the beta program. Authenticating using passkeys isn't a novel concept and the technology is slowly gaining traction online— Google already allows you to log in to a new device by using fingerprint-based biometric authentication for passkeys in place of a password. These passkeys are securely stored on your device and used when biometric authentication is provided. The screenshot posted by WABetaInfo also states that WhatsApp will store the passkey in the device's password manager — for most users, that would be the device's default password store that is handled by Google with autofill support. The feature is also expected to make its way to iOS, where it is likely to be stored in the iOS Keychain. It is currently unclear whether WhatsApp will also support storing passkeys in third-party apps like Bitwarden, 1Password, or Dashlane. We can expect to learn more about how the feature works when it is rolled out to more users in the beta program and the feature is expected to arrive on all smartphones on the stable channel in the future. https://www.gadgets360.com/apps/news/whatsapp-beta-passkey-support-login-biometric-unlock-fingerprint-face-id-password-manager-4407108

Computer scientists have developed a new tool that enables quicker and more accurate detection of money laundering, with the ability to scan 50 million transactions in less than a second. Researchers from the Department of Informatics have designed an entirely novel approach to detecting money laundering, based on algorithms which rapidly identify when criminals are dividing a large sum of money into multiple smaller transactions between many bank accounts—a technique known as "smurfing." The algorithms run on data taken from several bank accounts which are represented as nodes on a large, complex graph, and the software is programmed to focus on the part of the graph where it detects the most suspicious activity. For example, if there is a deposit of one million pounds, the software can monitor where this exact sum of money is being transferred—it has the ability to identify all combinations of related transactions that take place, even if the money is split between different accounts and outgoings. As detailed in a paper published in the Proceedings of the 2023 SIAM International Conference on Data Mining, lead researchers Dr. Huiping Chen and Dr. Grigorios Loukides, together with Dr. Robert Gwadera and Dr. Solon Pissis, say the new software is over three times more effective than current detection methods and can also analyze larger amounts of data. Current money laundering detection methods are rule-based or machine-learning (ML) based, which involve automated money laundering detection alarms set off by "suspicious" transaction scenarios like excessive cash deposits or process large sets of transaction histories to spot possible money-laundering activity along pre-set lines. These methods can be ineffective or slow to uncover instances of the crime, especially with the practice of smurfing. Both existing methods also require domain knowledge—for example, a bank must have successfully caught attacks in the past and used them to detect other attacks. If an organization does not have that data, which can be the case when dealing with novel or evolving money laundering methods, then that means reduced accuracy. Dr. Chen, a Ph.D. student at the Department of Informatics, said, "Money laundering presents a major global challenge. Developing a quicker and more effective approach to detecting this criminal activity signals a major step in the right direction to address the issue and provide reassurance for financial institutions." The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) estimates that between 2% and 5% of global GDP is laundered each year, roughly between £632 billion and over £1.5 trillion. Dr. Loukides states, "We have developed an optimal method that can find the best possible solution for detecting common classifications of smurfing attacks across millions of amounts of data, on average 3.2 times more effectively than the state-of-the-art methods currently used. "Our tool is also more automated and enables a far more rapid analysis of the data than what's currently available. By allowing money laundering experts to survey vast amounts of data faster than ever before, we can empower them to pick up on actors with bad intent efficiently. "We are now working to improve the tool further, with the aim of delivering a quicker speed than conventional approaches but with even higher accuracy." The software for the new tool is open source and freely available to access. Because it can be used with much larger amounts of data than conventional detection methods, researchers say it can analyze large amounts of data over long periods of time, filtering out and sounding an alarm to indicate to the bank when it detects suspicious activity. The approach has been tested using real data from an anonymous Czech bank, and on fictional cases based on predictions of common patterns and activity present in cases of real money laundering. In both instances, the algorithms were able to detect all suspicious patterns in the transactions. Researchers say the new tool also has potential use beyond the detection of suspicious financial activity, as it could optimize marketing campaigns by enabling retailers to find and detect the most profitable bundles of products; improving the accuracy of retail data at speed. https://techxplore.com/news/2023-09-software-money-laundering-faster.html

The keyboard is a peripheral that we always have our hands on, and for this reason it gets dirty quite easily. Of course, thoroughly cleaning the keyboard can be quite traumatic because to get it truly clean the ideal is to remove all the keys, but is there a way to clean the keyboard without having to completely disassemble it? Yes, and in this article we tell you the best way to do it. Having to remove all the keys from the keyboard to clean them one by one and then put them back in their mechanisms can be a pain... not because it is complicated (in the end, if you don't know by heart where each key goes you can always take a photo of it or see images on the Internet) but because it is laborious, since a conventional keyboard has more than 100 keys. So, let's see the best way to clean it without having to remove all the keys. Necessary materials We have often talked to you about isopropyl alcohol, since it is the best disinfectant to use on any PC or peripheral because it cleans, disinfects, leaves no marks or odors and is also not abrasive to plastics. Now it's about always passing the cloth from top to bottom on the keyboard, making sure to press enough for the keys to activate but logically being careful not to press too hard so as not to damage anything. The trick here is to press with only one finger to clean each row of keys individually, because by doing it this way you will not only be cleaning the key you press, but by pressing it you will also be cleaning the sides of the adjacent keys. Once you've done this technique from top to bottom, repeat it from left to right or right to left; The intention of repeating this step changing the direction is that if we previously cleaned the upper face of the keys and the sides of the adjacent ones, now we will go over the upper part and clean the upper and lower parts of the adjacent ones. Once you've done that, chances are some gunk has settled between the keys, so it's time to go over the entire keyboard with your ear buds. To do this, lightly wet one side of the cotton swab and carefully insert it between the keys and into all the nooks and crannies you can. Be careful not to press too hard as the edges of the key caps could cause the cotton to come off the swab. When you see that it is dirty or worn, turn it over and do it with the opposite side, or change the swab when necessary. Once this is done, lightly wet the microfiber cloth again and go over all the sides, the bottom area and the perimeter of the keyboard to finish cleaning it. Logically, this is not a thorough cleaning as such, but in just 5 minutes you will have cleaned and disinfected 95% of your keyboard, and of course the feeling of cleanliness will have nothing to do with it compared to before cleaning it. https://hardzone.es/noticias/perifericos/limpiar-teclado-sin-desmontarlo/

Valorant’s new duelist, Iso, has a new scary ability for players to use just in time for Halloween - here are our first impressions. Riot Games has been consistently shaking up the Valorant universe with the introduction of new agents, and their latest creation, Iso, is no exception. As a duelist, Iso is designed to wreak havoc on the battlefield with his unique abilities, which require a high level of skill and precision to master, making him a perfect duelist choice for players who thrive on mechanical finesse. The tech-enhanced duelist is the 23rd Valorant agent to join the roster of Riot’s FPS game and will land in the game on Tuesday, October 31. Iso relies heavily on the player’s raw aim and mechanical skills, making him a formidable force in the right hands and a thrilling presence in the competitive landscape. Valorant – Iso abilities Iso’s abilities are a blend of cutting-edge technology and a relentless pursuit of victory on the battlefield, even if it means he has to 1v1 his way to the last round with his kit built around enhancing his gunplay and perfect positioning. E – Double Tap: Activate your focus timer to enter a flow state during which downed enemies you kill or damage generate an energy orb. Iso can then harvest energy orbs from downed or damaged enemies. Shooting these orbs grants Iso a temporary shield that absorbs a single instance of damage from any source. Q – Undercut: Throw a molecular bolt that can penetrate walls and obstacles to catch enemies off-guard. Upon hitting an enemy, it applies the ‘fragile’ status to them, making them more vulnerable to damage. C – Contingency: Iso creates a prismatic energy shield that is indestructible and capable of blocking bullets. This skill is optimal for controlling choke points or providing cover for your team when entering a site. X – Kill Contract: Iso’s ultimate ability allows him to throw a column of energy that teleports him and the first enemy hit into a 1v1 arena. The winner leaves the arena, while the loser meets their fate. When working on Iso, the Valorant development team faced several obstacles, particularly with his ultimate ability. According to agent lead John ‘Riot_MEMEMEMEME’ Goscicki, adding a “new environment to every map for Iso’s ultimate” ability was a lot of work. The team has had to consider how it would work within the chaos game, including issues like a rogue Raze’s rocket hitting the arena or Astra’s ultimate dividing the map through Iso’s ult. How to play Iso in Valorant Riot described Iso’s gameplay style as ‘precise and confident.’ He embodies the importance of gun precision and is rewarded for it with “unyielding confidence through his shield and slick gunplay,” as noted by Nicholas “Nickwu” Smith, one of Iso’s designers. Iso brings a new powerful set of abilities to Valorant, however his effectiveness largely hinges on the player’s proficiency in precise gunplay, potentially making him a little weaker than intended – especially in the lower Valorant ranks. His ‘Double Tap’ ability, in particular, emphasizes the importance of gun skill and quick reflexes, rewarding only players with precise aim. How Iso will fit into the Valorant meta? The introduction of Iso could significantly shift the Valorant meta – especially considering the recent nerfs to Jett, who has always been the favorite duelist for the majority of players. With Jett’s decline in po[CENSORED]rity, Iso has a chance to take the throne as the go-to duelist in Valorant. But while Iso’s abilities are undeniably powerful, his lack of mobility is a disadvantage, which could be registered by many as a balancing factor for his other juggernaut-like abilities. Additionally other agents, like Neon or Raze, still offer more sought-after utilities, making Iso a less attractive choice. However, the ever-evolving nature of Valorant’s meta means that Iso’s potential impact could change over time and as players continue to explore his capabilities, we may see Iso rise to prominence or settle into a niche role within the game like others before him. A pair of hands with black fingerless gloves conjure fluid purple energy in an idyllic town square setting. Iso undeniably brings a fresh dynamic to Valorant with his unique set of abilities that emphasize gunplay and precision, something FPS players always take in high regard. While his potential dominance in the meta remains uncertain, one thing is clear: Iso offers a new challenge for players to master, and his arrival is sure to stir up the competitive scene. Keep an eye out for Iso when he officially joins the Valorant roster in Episode 7 Act 3, and make sure to load up some of the best Valorant crosshairs – you’ll need them for those 1v1 bouts. https://www.pcgamesn.com/valorant/iso-preview
