  2. ISLAMABAD: With the number of Covid-19 cases declining across the country, federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood on Thursday announced that the restrictions imposed on schools in some major cities to conduct three-day classes in a week had been removed. During the ongoing second wave of the pandemic, the country saw over 3,000 cases daily — the number has now come down to around 1,300. The federal and provincial governments had in a meeting at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) last month allowed educational institutions to reopen as per their routine, but schools in four urban centres — Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore and Peshawar — were allowed to open schools only three days a week. However, the federal education minister on Thursday announced that such restrictions in these cities had been lifted and they were now allowed to hold regular classes. “Important announcement. All schools will go back to regular 5 day classes from Monday March 1. Restrictions imposed in some major cities on schools to conduct staggered classes was only till Feb 28,” Mr Mahmood tweeted. “This announcement applies to every educational institutions in the designated cities where restrictions had been imposed. Allah SWTs infinite mercy that we are returning to normal,” he said, adding that all educational institutions would continue to observe normal Covid-19 standards operating procedures (SOPs) such as physical distancing, mask wearing and ensuring hand washing facilities. The federal education minister, while speaking to Dawn, said the NCOC had already decided to lift the ban in the four cities from February 28. “Today, in my tweet I just elaborated,” he said, adding that from March 1 all schools of the country will hold regular classes under the SOPs. “We [schools] are back to business with SOPs.” The minister said that now it was incumbent upon the heads of schools to ensure implementation of the SOPs. “All educational institutions will continue to observe normal coronavirus SOPs such as physical distancing, mask wearing and ensuring hand washing facilities,” said a press It said: “In continuation of the announcement by Shafqat Mahmood…on resumption of a regular school week for urban centers of Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore and Peshawar. It is further clarified that these urban centres had been restricted to a three-day school week by NCOC because of a high spike in Covid-19 cases.” It added that after review of the Covid-19 cases in these centers, this restriction was being removed. The ministry, however, reiterated that the SOPs were still fully applicable on schools with a special emphasis on use of masks, physical distancing and hand washing. It is relevant to note here that the government had already extended the ongoing academic session because from March 2019 till date the schools saw opening-closure scenario due to Covid-19 cases. Earlier, this session was supposed to end in March-April, but education ministers of the country had last month decided to extend the session till May-June and the next session will start in August.

  6. “We get behind the wheel… but nothing is adjustable. The seat does not go up and down, and neither does the steering wheel. Obviously we can adjust the seat forward and back, however, we are sitting a little too high. The Spring being an electric vehicle, the operation silence is obviously present. The car is not equipped with an anti-roll bar, it takes a bit of angle when cornering. Low rolling resistance tires offer only limited grip. On a wet road, the Dacia does not hold the road very well. Nothing dramatic though. Its 44 hp electric motor does not make it an airplane , but this power is sufficient in town. Advantage of the Spring: its format. With 3.73 m, it parks almost everywhere. Better still, its turning diameter of 9.40 m makes it easier to maneuver. In terms of finish, we are at Dacia. But it is well equipped basic, with air conditioning, electric windows or central locking. The main thing is there on this Spring. " The prices revealed Having a place of choice in Europe with the Zoe which is quite simply the best-selling electric model, the Renault Group announced last fall a much more accessible model branded Dacia, its low-cost subsidiary. Since this morning 8:00 am, we finally know the base price of the famous Spring which could (finally!) Democratize the electric car: 12,403 euros in basic version , batteries included and ecological bonus (27% of the price of the vehicle) deducted ( or 89 € / month with the conversion premium). Or the price of a recent second-hand Renault Zoe , batteries included. We expected around € 15,000 excluding bonus but finally, the Spring starts at € 16,800 (€ 12,264 bonus included) for professionals (Business finish), especially car-sharing players very clearly targeted by Dacia . Admittedly, this is not much for an electric car claiming up to 230 km of autonomy in WLTP (305 km in WLTP City) especially as the basic equipment includes air conditioning and radio in addition to all the equipment. mandatory security in Europe. It is clear that at this price, we should not expect performance from Tesla Model 3 but the Spring will be able to extract itself from cities with a maximum speed of 125 km / h and a promised habitability for four adults.
  7. Pakistan has banned TikTok, China's video-sharing app, for the second time. The Pakistani media regulator undertook the move on Thursday after a court order citing "unethical and immoral content" on the platform. "Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has issued directions to the service providers to immediately block access to the TikTok app," the regulator said following the order from the Peshawar high court. The regulator didn't provide details on whether the ban was temporary or permanent. The Peshawar high court said that some videos uploaded on the platform were "unacceptable" for Pakistani society. Two lawyers sought the ban for videos "contrary to ethical standards and moral values of Pakistan." They requested the court to block TikTok until it complied with the guidelines offered by the PTA last year. The app has previously come under the radar of Prime Minister Imran Khan's advisers, who have said the platform promotes the "exploitation, objectification and sexualization" of young girls. Not the first ban Pakistan had blocked TikTok temporarily in October 2020 for a few days, and the ban was lifted after TikTok's management assured the Pakistani government they would block all accounts "repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality." The country has a patchy history with social media content, similar to its neighboring nation, India. The latter has already blocked TikTok following a border skirmish with China in the region of Ladakh. In 2020, the PTA had asked YouTube to block all videos that the regulator considered "objectionable" from the platform. TikTok challenged the latest ban in Pakistan. “TikTok is built upon the foundation of creative expression, with strong safeguards in place to keep inappropriate content off the platform,” it said. Last year Pakistani regulators had asked YouTube to immediately block all videos they consider "objectionable" from being accessed in the country, a demand criticized by rights campaigners. am/sms (AP, AFP)
  8. Dacia Bigster: Coupé, Cabriolet, Pick-up… we've tried everything - Since its unveiling last January , during the Renaulution event , Dacia's concept car has never ceased to unleash passions. How long time will appear to those who wait for its commercialization on the horizon… 2025 . Yes, it will take a lot of patience to get behind the wheel of the future large low cost SUV capable of accommodating up to 7 passengers. In the meantime, as an appetizer, Auto-Moto invites you to discover the Bigster available in all sauces, with varying degrees of happiness How about a coupe and a pickup? Obviously, most future buyers of the Dacia Bigster will primarily eye its 5 or 7-seater variant, prefigured by the eponymous concept car. But does not the desire to move upmarket expressed by Luca de Meo, the new boss of the Renault group, announce future extrapolation on the basis of this SUV? The success observed by the Arkana coupe SUV could very well apply to the Bigster, devoid of roof bars in favor of a pronounced fall of the roof, BMW X6 style. A more improbable convertible In the same genre, one can easily imagine that the Dacia Bigster would be entitled to a pick-up silhouette to compete with the Toyota Hilux or the Mitsubishi L200 . This is a fast-growing global market on which the Romanian manufacturer would have a good card to play. More hypothetical would be its conversion into a convertible. After the relative failure of the Range Rover Evoque in this vehicle niche, the Volkswagen T-Roc is currently trying to relaunch the fashion for discoverables, by surfing the SUV trend. We will have to take stock in 2025 to see if such a project would make sense.
  9. After one of the most trying years in decades, most people just want to try for a fresh start in 2021. It has undoubtedly been a challenging time for everyone, and it is understandable that anxiety and stress levels are reaching record heights. That said, there is no reason that you cannot turn things around — not just for yourself but for your loved ones. A push toward a healthier lifestyle is a conscious decision, and one that you can make as you try for a fresh start in the new year. Even those who might have plenty on their table as far as work-related responsibilities go can still forge ahead in terms of a healthy lifestyle. Here are just some ways to help balance health and work in 2021. Are you getting enough water and sleep? First and foremost, to help the body cleanse itself and ensure that you have the energy to keep going, it is crucial to take note of how much water and sleep you are getting throughout any given day. Sleep is not something to be taken lightly, and there needs to be an effort to regulate sleep to ensure that it is easier for those that might have issues with insomnia. Water is something that many homeowners tend to neglect, which is a shame as it can be quite easy to get up to speed when it comes to staying hydrated. As a general rule of thumb, ensure that you get at least eight glasses of water and eight hours of sleep a day. Balancing positive reinforcement with the right wellness products It can sometimes feel like you don’t have enough time to heat some water and enjoy a cup of tea, but it can be surprisingly easy to do — even during the busiest days. The trick behind wellness products is to pair it up with times of relaxation and stress to help push for positive reinforcement. For example, one of the most well-known wellness products include the variety of cannabidiol products available today. CBD products are well-known for dealing with issues of stress and anxiety, and are easy to incorporate into a busy lifestyle. There are plenty of known health benefits, and they are safe to use. Beyond Yourself One of more helpful things to do, especially in the early stages of developing habits, is get other people involved. You will not be alone in feeling that you need to be healthier: those in your household or even colleges will too. Organizing times to exercise together, in person or remotely, or even taking breaks during work at the same time can help take the pressure off yourself to instigate and continue change before a routine takes hold. If you prefer to keep it in-house, your dog can be of assistance. You can benefit yourself and them at the same time. Start with something simple like taking your dog for regular walk, and then mix things up by going further afield, if you can, and experiment with different trails – the variety can help keep things interesting. Your pup can participate in your organic and clean diet too, as long as they get the right nutrients. This even extends to above mentioned CBD products as you can help your dogs with stress through therapeutic CBD products. While the year 2020 has undoubtedly come with plenty of challenges, 2021 does not have to be such a challenging year. Take the time to focus on yourself, and it can be much easier to maintain a healthier lifestyle overall. It’s all about habits and environments.
  10. Schools in several cities of Punjab, Islamabad, and Peshawar to close on account of spring break from March 15, says Shafqat Mehmood Sindh, Balochistan and KP schools [other than Peshawar] to remain open as usual and follow COVID-19 SOPs NCOC says 50% work from home policy in offices will be implemented according to province's discretion ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood is holding an important press conference with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan at the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) to review the coronavirus situation in the country and school opening modalities. These were the important decisions taken by the NCOC: Strict compliance of mask wearing will continue across the board. Smart lockdowns / micro smart lockdowns will continue to be imposed based on the disease prevalence / hotspots. 50% work from home policy will be implemented on the discretion of provinces. However, it will be enforced in Islamabad with immediate effect. The time limit of 10:00pm on all commercial activities will be re-enforced with immediate effect, less essential services. Amusement parks across the country will be closed at 6:00pm. Earlier decision of allowing indoor weddings, indoor dining and opening of cinemas and shrines with effect from 15th March 21 has been withdrawn. However, outdoor dining / take away will continue to remain open as per previous practice. Outdoor gatherings will continue to remain limited to a maximum of 300 individuals with strict enforcement of COVID -19 SOPs. A review of all enforced NPIs will be carried out on 12th April 21. The above-mentioned decisions regarding NPIs are base-line decisions. Federating units are at liberty to impose stricter NPIs in selected Cities / Districts keeping in view the local disease trend / spread. Dr Faisal Sultan announced that the NCOC had decided to go back to the decision of allowing only 50% attendance in workplaces, as cases of the novel coronavirus continue to rise. The press conference followed a meeting of all education ministers of the provinces and Shafqat Mehmood. "Education is a sector which is directly linked to this disease,"he said, referring to the coronavirus. SINDH AND BALOCHISTAN "The good news is that in Sindh and Balochistan, the situation is pretty much normal. As per the decisions taken [during the meeting] only 50% students will be allowed in schools [in Sindh and Balochistan] and they will observe all SOPs including social distancing and wearing masks." PUNJAB As for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the federal education minister said that 50% attendance in educational institutions will be followed except for some cities. "All educational institutions in Punjab's Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Gujrat, Multan, Rawalpindi and Sialkot will remain closed from Monday till March 28," he said, adding that these institutions will be closed on account of the spring break. ISLAMABAD Mehmood said that schools and other educational institutions across the capital city will also be closed from Monday and reopened on March 28. KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA The minister said that the same measures have been taken for Peshawar's educational institutions that were taken for Punjab's cities. "Owing to the rise in positivity ratios in Peshawar, there too, educational institutions and schools will remain closed from March 15, Monday till March 28," he said. "In other districts and cities [of KP] attendance will be 50%, according to the ongoing situation," he said, adding that provincial governments will hold a "constant review" of the situation and will have the rights to order closure of schools, educational institutions and other places keeping in mind the coronavirus situation. Cambridge , matriculation and intermediate exams to be held as per schedule The minister clarified that O level, A level and other exams will be held as per schedule in Pakistan. "These exams being conducted by schools will not be applicable on these exams," he said, reminding that exams for grades 10, 11 and 12 will be held this year in May and June. "Our children are giving [inter and matric] exams in Pakistani boards hence the same [rule] will also apply for children giving exams for other boards," he said, referring to O level and A level students. Mehmood urges schools and educational institutions to monitor the coronavirus situation on an individual level and reach out to the relevant authorities. Govt holds meeting as coronavirus cases surge across country Given the alarming surge in coronavirus cases across the country, the federal minister said the situation is not the same as it was in November-December. “The rate of cases has spiked within a week,” he added. Last month, the federal minister had announced that all the educational institutes would resume regular 5-day classes from March 1. He had said that the announcement applies to every educational institution in the designated cities where restrictions had been imposed. The coronavirus positivity rate has risen significantly in the first week of March ringing alarm bells at the NCOC which announced on Monday to review the decision of easing further restrictions. The NCOC meeting, chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, also considered deferring the opening up of cinemas, indoor weddings, and dine-in restaurants. The meeting expressed its concerns over public complacency in following non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs or alternate measures to treat the disease other than medical treatment).
  11. ord Motor has issued a safety recall for approximately 75 customers who have already taken delivery of their Mustang Mach-E 2021 vehicles. Affected vehicles may have problems with subframe bolts that the supplier has not fixed to specification. Ford discovered this while conducting a quality survey during the delivery of some vehicles. The automaker said it will service the other vehicles before delivering them to customers. These include 94% of the 1,258 affected vehicles in the US and all 90 in Canada. Ford dealers will inspect the subframe bolts and fix them if necessary. The company said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by loose subframe bolts. Owners who have already received their Mustang Mach-Es will have a notification starting the week of March 22.
  12. Women, while wearing many hats and juggling many roles and responsibilities, often forget to take care of their health. Women’s Day comes as a reminder every year that they need to prioritise their health and well-being, before doing other things. On the occasion, Dr Deepthi Ashwin, a senior obstetrician and gynecologist at Fortis La Femme Hospital, Richmond Road, Bengaluru talks about some important health issues that women ought to know about. Here are eight most-common ailments; read on. * Endometriosis: This happens when the glands lining the uterus develop outside it, on ovaries, bladder, rectum. It causes painful and/or heavy periods, pain during intercourse, infertility. Treatment can be medical or surgical. * Fibroids: These are the most common non-cancerous tumours in child-bearing women. It can cause heavy and/or painful periods, infertility, pregnancy complications like miscarriages or early labour. They grow at a very slow rate. Not all fibroids warrant treatment. * Vaginal infections and STI: These occur because of a variety of causes like bacterias (bacterial vaginosis, chlamydial infections, gonorrhoea), fungi (candidiasis), parasites (trichomoniasis), viruses (HPV, HSV). A simple examination by your doctor can diagnose most infections and appropriate treatment can be started. It is essential to treat these infections at the earliest to prevent complications. * Urinary tract infections: They are more common in women. They can lead to increased frequency of urination, burning urination, urgency. In more severe cases, they can cause blood in the urine, pain in the lower abdomen and fever. A urine culture and sensitivity needs to be performed to know the organism causing it and the appropriate antibiotics required to treat it. You need to consume plenty of fluids and a urine alkalizer may be needed in some cases. * Pregnancy issues: Diabetes, hypertension, preterm labour, miscarriage. Late conception is now increasing medical diseases complicating the pregnancy. * Polycystic ovarian syndrome: Occurs when there is overproduction of male hormones. Ovaries may contain multiple small cysts. It may cause irregular cycles, reduced flow during cycles, weight gain, abnormal hair growth on face and chest. It is important to keep your weight under control to suppress the hormones. * Menopausal issues: Hot flashes, vaginal dryness, prolapse, urinary incontinence, osteoporosis. It is important for menopausal women to eat nutritious diets and make sure to exercise regularly.
  13. Italy has surpassed 100,000 coronavirus deaths a year after it became the first country in the world to impose a national lockdown due to the pandemic. The Italian health ministry said 318 people had died in the last 24 hours on Monday, bringing the total to 100,103. The latest figures mean Italy has the second highest number of deaths in Europe after the UK's 124,566. Nearly 14,000 new positive cases were also recorded on Monday, as the number of people in intensive care units (ICUs) rose to 2,700 - 95 more than a day earlier. Italy's total virus cases surpassed three million last week, with a new surge powered by the highly contagious variant that was first identified in Britain towards the end of 2020. Advertisement More than a year has passed since the first Italian coronavirus death - 78-year-old retired roofer Antonio Trevisan, who died on 21 February 2020. Hospitals in the northern region of Lombardy were soon overwhelmed and morgues were unable to keep up, and convoys of army trucks carried away the dead. Priests handled death on an industrial scale in little towns like Seriate, near Bergamo, with coffins accumulating in a local church after cemeteries were not able to bury all the dead. Priests would bless the coffins before they were carried away by military vehicles. The whole of Italy went into lockdown on 10 March 2020 - the first country to impose such a measure nationwide - after targeted restrictions in the north failed to stop the spread sufficiently. Cities like Rome, Milan and Venice, which were previously crowded with tourists, became totally empty. Earlier today, senior figures at the World Health Organisation defended their decision not to label the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic until 11 March 2020 - the day after Italy went into lockdown. WHO director general Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus said that describing the situation as a public health emergency of international concern - a move the organisation made on 30 January 2020 - was already the "highest level of alarm under international law". Dr Tedros added: "One of the things we still need to understand is why some countries act on those warnings, while others were slower to react." Dr Michael Ryan, executive director of the WHO's health emergencies programme, said: "Unfortunately if you're in a valley and a dam bursts, you know you are at risk and you take action. "If you are standing on the mountain top you don't feel the level of risk until the waters rise. "I fear too many countries thought they were standing on a mountain top watching the waters rise to consume and overwhelm others, and what everyone didn't realise is that the waters rose to consume them." Now, the situation in Italy is once again deteriorating as new cases rise - and there is a increased spread of the highly contagious new variants. Prime Minister Mario Draghi said on Monday that the country would ramp up its vaccination campaign in the coming days to help pull the country out of the crisis. Like other European Union countries, Italy's vaccination campaign has got off to a slow start, hit in part by delivery delays from drug manufacturers. As of Monday morning, 5.42 million shots had been carried out, with 1.65 million of Italy's 60-million-strong po[CENSORED]tion having received the recommended two doses. The government is considering switching tactics to give priority to first doses rather than stockpile second doses. It comes as a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's party in Germany said he would quit parliament after he was found to have received payment for brokering face mask procurement deals for local authorities. The scandal risks stirring more voter disgruntlement, after the country's ruling coalition came under fire for a slow COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Elsewhere in Europe, the number of people treated in French ICUs for COVID reached a 14-and-a-half-week-high on Monday at 3,849, while total hospitalisations for the disease increased for the second day running to 25,195. The number of people in ICUs in France is still almost two times lower than the 7,184 peak in April 2020, but remains well above a government target level of 2,500 to 3,000 for easing coronavirus limits on the circulation of people. And in the Netherlands, Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Monday said an evening curfew to combat the coronavirus outbreak there must remain in place until at least 31 March. Mr Rutte said that due to continuing high numbers of new cases, the curfew and most social distancing measures must remain in place, though exceptions will be made to allow national elections on 15 to 17 March to proceed. e obsolete because it is now a common driver of infection. The Dutch government will also lift a ban on passenger flights and ferries from Britain starting on Tuesday, the news agency ANP reported. The ban had been imposed in January in order to prevent or slow the spread of the so-called Kent variant, but the government believes the measure has becom

  15. New Peugeot 308 2021 - On March 18, the most anticipated French novelty of spring 2021 will finally lift the veil on its finery. At the end of February, the third installment of 308 already revealed some details of its plastic, while Peugeot inaugurated its new identity , through a revised and corrected logo. A new wind is blowing on the Lion's truffle. The most famous feline in eastern France intends to boost its image and roars it loud and clear within a new badge . Like the Peugeot logos that were rampant in the 1950s and 1960s, the animal only illustrates its face and mane , which stood proudly on its hind legs since the 1970s. to this new coat of arms which draws its inspiration from Ferrari, Porsche or Lamborghini to signify a move upmarket. And the very first model honored with this new identity will be embodied by the new Peugeot 308, before the entire range benefits in the short and medium term. The compact 2021 vintage intends to multiply this badge on its entire body, both on its grille and on its front fenders or hubs. On the other hand, its silhouette will play on the continuity with the old model , particularly in profile with almost identical glazing, just like the thick C pillar. Mouth wide open The changes will be more dramatic at each end. The bow will take over the hood cutout of the 508 , above a widely indented grille. The imposing air intake will seem to blend with the optics, like the facelifts orchestrated by the duo 3008/5008 . Around the Lion, several grille patterns could be displayed, depending on the finishes, like a certain Mercedes Class A. In addition to the bars that could not be more classic at the entry level, this gaping mouth could be studded with hundreds of chrome keys on the most upscale variants. Premium ambitions At the rear, the lights will adopt a simplified design , unlike recent house productions. Three slightly inclined luminous dashes will come to life on either side of the stern, itself copiously hollowed out under each lens to give shape. Particularly taking care of the details at 360 °, the Sochaux intends to supplant the Golf, question charisma, to come closer to the codes instilled by the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series and Mercedes Class A. She also wishes to stay in the race against her particularly sharp cousin. , the new DS4 , with which it shares its platform. An improved base It is a very largely redesigned EMP2 underbody which will invite itself in the bowels of the new 308. Better optimized, it promises to make benefit from a first-rate habitability to the one who will gain a few precious centimeters to evolve between 4.30 m and 4.40 m long. The Lionne will also go through the regime box, while improving its rigidity, and will accommodate the latest engines. Gasoline premium Probably based on the range of engines of the DS4, it should however do without the thermal unit of 225 hp of the latter to peak at 180 hp , in addition to a PureTech unit of 130 hp, or even 155 hp . Unlike its premium "clone", it could offer a block of 100 hp at the entry level. Democratize the PHEV On the diesel side, the Franche-Comté should be available in 110 and 130 hp BlueHDI , but will favor rechargeable hybridization over the course of its career. A PHEV unit accumulating 225 hp will be offered at launch, with the possibility of traveling up to 50 km in 100% electric mode . A few months later, a more modest variant, delivering between 150 and 180 hp, will appear to compete with the Renault Mégane E-Tech Plug-in of 160 hp. A hybrid GTI? What about a sporty variant capable of replacing the late 308 GTi ? A model with the logo “Peugeot Sport Engineered could”, like the 508 , would be considered, with a plug-in hybrid engine developing at least 300 hp , and strong all-wheel drive, even if it means cutting back on the loading capacity of the trunk. Interior inspiration 508 On board, the new Peugeot 308 will once again be inspired by the 508 to define the lines of its dashboard. It will raise the tone in terms of perceived quality, as well as in terms of on-board technos. Its central touchscreen should extend over 10 ”diagonally and offer much greater responsiveness. A second 3D panel will invite itself behind the wheel, while a large head-up vision could make its appearance. But the new 308 will probably ignore certain equipment reserved for the DS4 , such as night vision. New Peugeot 308 price Finally, the new Peugeot 308, only available in 5 doors at first , will see its range reinforced by the arrival of a station wagon, revealed next June . In 2022, it is rumored that a coupe SUV silhouette could also be in the game. Faithful to the historic Sochaux plant in the Doubs , the new 308 will roll off production lines next fall . As for its base price, it should evolve between 25 and 26 000 € to attack the leaders of the category, Volkswagen Golf in the lead.
  16. “If you’re unable to get your partner pregnant after regular unprotected intercourse for more than a year, you might be suffering from some form of a problem associated with the sperms. It could range from mild problems like sperm count mortality to the severest form — the absence of sperms in the semen sample, which can be termed as azoospermia,” said Dr Aswati Nair, fertility consultant, Nova IVF Fertility, New Delhi. She added that it is a condition that prevents males from having sperms in their semen, and is one of the causes of male infertility. However, azoospermia is a rare incident and happens in around one per cent of men; but it’s the root cause of 10 to 15 percent of infertility cases. “It can be caused when either the testicles stop producing sperms or the produced sperms cannot come out because of a block in the tract. Sperms are formed in the testicles and the sperms travel through the reproductive tract along with the fluid which is basically secretion of the male glands. They together make semen,” she said. It can be caused because of two reasons – obstructive (sperm gets blocked and cannot come out of the body) and non-obstructive (an issue in sperm production). Obstructive azoospermia is caused due to *Genetic conditions: An underlying issue with the genes or some organs in the body. *Infection in the prostrate or testicles, which is also one of the biggest causes of male infertility *Trauma: A surgery in the spine, pelvis, sex organ, the lower abdomen may damage the reproductive organs. Sometimes trauma of the surgery can also affect the sperm production or cause obstruction in sperm production. Non-obstructive azoospermia is caused due to *Taking medicines for cancer may affect fertility. Popping antibiotics and steroids can also be detrimental to male fertility. *Smoking, drinking alcohol may also cause a problem in sperm production *Chemotherapy or any other radiation therapy to treat cancer *Retrograde ejaculation: Under this condition, semen travels into the bladder instead of outside the body What are the signs and symptoms of azoospermia? *Inability to make the partner conceive *Overweight or obesity *Loss of hair *Testicles are getting small and cannot be felt *Low sex drive How to diagnose azoospermia and its treatment? The process is similar to any male fertility diagnosis. The medical expert will ask you for your semen analysis, blood test, or brain imaging to scan the pituitary gland. After that, they might ask you a few questions to understand your medical history. Question will be pertaining to your fertility issues, any cases of long-term medication or treatment of any ailments like cancer, either in the form of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, any illness, surgery in your pelvic or reproductive area, any STI and UTI, and exposure to high heat conditions. “If a person is diagnosed with obstructive azoospermia, the treatment involves reconstructing the tubes or ducts that aren’t allowing the sperm to flow. This can be done through surgery. However, the rate of success of these surgeries is low. The rate of success of any medical treatment towards non-obstructive azoospermia is also very low. 17. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Thursday that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 has been delayed "with immediate effect" after seven people participating in the tournament tested positive for Covid-19. The PCB said the decision had been taken out of consideration for the health and wellbeing of all participants in the tournament. "Following a meeting with the team owners and considering the health and wellbeing of all participants is paramount, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to postpone the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 with immediate effect. The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February," the cricket body said in a press release. The PCB will concentrate on "safe and secure passage" for the participants and is set to arrange repeat PCR tests, vaccines, and isolation facilities for the six franchises. Addressing a press conference later in the day, PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said today was a "very challenging day" for the PCB, stakeholders and fans of cricket. He said the SOPs for PSL 6 were decided after the successful staging of two Test series, a national T20 tournament, as well as the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. "It was a great disappointment for us that we found ourselves in a situation where neither us nor others are able to provide what we need to provide and that is the full protection for players," he added. Khan said the Board and franchise owners had also considered the option of halting the matches for five days "until we were able to make sense of what was going on and see whether we could move forward". But "there was a strong consensus that it was untenable to continue and based on the fact that it was outside of our and others' reasonable areas, because of what had taken place," he added. After seven players tested positive, Khan said, there was a concern that the virus would spread among other participants of the league. "That for us became a prime concern and was a huge concern for the franchises, hence we made the decision to postpone the event," he added, saying the PCB will be looking at other time windows and it hoped to complete the event before the end of the year. Khan said cricket authorities were currently "carefully and slowly exiting players from our environment so that we can safely get them out" and they can travel to their destinations. The PCB CEO acknowledged that the bio-secure bubble could not be maintained as it should have been but said the situation should not result in a "blame game". "This is a collective effort that we all had a responsibility to police and self-police that environment; unfortunately we weren't able to do it effectively enough hence we find ourselves in this situation today," he stressed. He noted that biosecurity was a matter of "trust" and major decisions became inevitable when "players are affected and players start to lose confidence". "Building trust again is going to take some time [and] some effort but we are determined to learn from the mistakes that were made. Hopefully everybody will learn from the mistakes that were made to make sure that this kind of thing doesn't happen again," he said. The PCB confirmed earlier in the day that three additional players from two different teams had tested positive for the coronavirus, adding they will now undergo self-isolation for 10 days. The players had been tested in the afternoon after they showed symptoms, according to the statement. They had not been part of the sides that played in yesterday’s PSL 6 double-header that featured Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators vs Multan Sultans. A day earlier, the PCB decided to offer Sars-coronavirus vaccine doses to all participants of PSL 6, becoming the first cricket board to do so. The decision was made in the line with the PCB’s duty of care policy and to ensure all participants of the league remain safe and healthy during the event, which was set to conclude on March 22. Last month, a player from one of the PSL 6 franchises had tested positive for Covid-19, while another player and an official had been placed in a three-day quarantine after violating bio-security protocols. The PCB had not identified the trio. Earlier this week, Islamabad United's Fawad Ahmed also tested positive. United's match with Quetta Gladiators, scheduled to be held on March 1, was postponed as a result while other players were tested. The PCB had later announced the test results of both Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United squads had returned negative. However, the very next day, two more overseas cricketers and a local backroom staff member also tested positive. Ticket refunds Meanwhile, Faizan Aslam, the CEO of 'Bookme.pk', which had partnered with the PSL for ticketing, said that the process of refunds would also be carried out through the online portal. According to Aslam, fans would be able to claim their refunds through the portal and that the funds would be deposited into their online or mobile banking accounts. He added that it could take up to a week to process the refunds.
