As the global semiconductor crunch grinds on, the major fabless companies—those without the sort of silicon manufacturing capability of a company like Intel—are fighting over limited wafer capacity so that they can continue to sell products with volume. The biggest of these companies by far is Apple. The staggering amount of money in the Cupertino company’s bank accounts mean that it's first in line to take up the limited capacity on offer from TSMC, leaving other fabless companies, such as Qualcomm, AMD and Nvidia fighting over what's left. AMD in particular, despite its apparent success, simply doesn't have the really big dollars to fight these larger companies in order to guarantee a good enough chip supply. Even in the last day or so, news comes that AMD is raising its GPU prices due to a rise in TSMC's costs. The way things are now, most current generation PC products (and consoles too) sell out as soon as they come into stock. Woeful graphics card prices are a meme at this point, DDR5 memory is being scalped at ridiculous prices and even motherboards continue to creep upwards in price thanks to component shortages. And that's just on the supply side. The pandemic means more people work from home. They need PC’s and laptops because their tablets and phones don’t have the grunt to deal with most workflows and multitasking. And with lockdowns and more time at home, we have more time to play games. This means we have a supply and demand double whammy. Companies know they have a rare opportunity to capitalise and make huge profits, but in order to do that, they need reliable component suppliers too. Taiwan based TSMC, the major supplier of many of the CPUs, GPUs and components that are critical to the running of our PCs, isn't the only chip maker, even it it is the most technologically advanced one at this point in time. AMD's Zen 4 processors are rumored to be built on TSMCs 5nm node. It's been reported that next generation Nvidia GPUs will also be built by TSMC, and not Samsung. So with Apple hogging a lot of TSMC's advanced node production capacity, and Nvidia joining the fight over what's left, AMD could find itself being squeezed out by its more cash flush competitors. A picutre of Samsung's Austin, Texas facility That brings us to Zen 5. It's a given that AMD would never partner with Intel. Global Foundries (AMD's former fab division) and UMC aren't trying to compete with TSMC on the bleeding edge nodes, but Samsung is, and it may be that AMD is uniquely positioned to partner with the Korean giant to manufacture its future products. If such a move happens, we're unlikely to see the fruits of the partnership for a few years. These decisions are made years in advance as the design of a CPU and the node it is manufactured on are very much tied together. You can be sure that Zen 5 development is well underway, so if such a move were to happen, the documents have probably already been signed. Black Friday deals Black Friday 2021 deals: the place to go for the all the best early Black Friday bargains. We can't ignore the current geopolitical tensions. The China and Taiwan issue isn’t going to go away anytime soon, and it's certain that a global leader in manufacturing like TSMC is a pawn on the minds of Chinese and Taiwanese leaders. Relying on one manufacturer can be catastrophic if there is a supply side shock. However, if the political situation deteriorates further, the loss of TSMC output would make the current semiconductor shortage look like the effect a couple of burnt muffins has on a Sunday cake stall. Should AMD partner with Samsung, they’ll be neighbours. Samsung has announced the construction of a new $17B plant in Taylor, Texas which is just a few kilometers up the road from Austin, Texas. Guess who else has a significant corporate presence in Austin? You guessed it. AMD. Though such a geographical link may prove entirely coincidental, a USA based cutting edge mega foundry won’t have to go far to find customers. Smart money wouldn’t bet against AMD being one of them.

The PC was declared the Ultimate Hardware of All Time at the Golden Joystick Awards yesterday, an obvious and completely correct acknowledgement that PCs both predate and outpace any game console you care to name. As Gabe Newell put it in his award acceptance speech, "Gamers and developers have benefited enormously from the relentless innovation in PC gaming hardware." But if PC is the ultimate gaming hardware, then what, you might reasonably ask, is the ultimate game? That, according to the Golden Joysticks, is FromSoftware's 2011 ARPG Dark Souls, which beat out other contenders in the fan-voted category including Doom, Half-Life 2, Minecraft, Halo: Combat Evolved, Grand Theft Auto 5, Portal, and Space Invaders. "Thank you very much for receiving such a wonderful award," Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki said in a statement reported by Yahoo Japan (via Google Translate). "It's still unbelievable that the user chose from the nominated works, but I feel it's a great honor." Sponsored Links Top 30 Most Beautiful Women in the World HealthyWomanMag Miyazaki also paid tribute to his colleagues at FromSoftware, saying that newcomers to the studio when it began working on Dark Souls are now "the core of the latest effort, Elden Ring." It's interesting to recall, in light of this award, that the original release of Dark Souls on PC, the Prepare to Die edition, was really quite a mess. FromSoftware described it ahead of launch as "strictly a port from the console version," with no optimizations for PC, and they weren't kidding: Among other issues, it was locked to 720p/30fps at launch, which even in 2013 was definitely not cool. Modding hero Peter "Durante" Thoman quickly released a patch that did away with those graphical limitations, but it still suffered from wonky sound and brutally bad mouse-and-keyboard controls. It wasn't until the 2018 release of Dark Souls Remastered that we got an out-of-the-box experience that didn't look like it was deliberately calculated to make us all buy PS3s. Hopefully the rollout of FromSoftware's latest soulslike will be a lot smoother: Elden Ring is currently set to arrive sometime in February 2022.

Biden also nominated Lael Brainard as vice chair, the No. 2 slot at the Federal Reserve. (AP Photo/Susan Walsh) Washington (CNN)President Joe Biden on Monday mourned the lives lost in a deadly incident at a Wisconsin holiday parade, calling the violence a tragedy that has left a community struggling to understand what has happened. At least five are dead and 40 others injured after a man drove his vehicle through the Waukesha, Wisconsin, holiday parade. Biden -- who has been briefed multiple times on the incident and is closely monitoring the response -- said he and his family are praying for the community. "Last night, the people of Waukesha were gathered to celebrate the start of a season of hope, togetherness and thanksgiving," Biden said at the White House. "This morning, Jill and I -- and the entire Biden family and I'm sure all of us -- pray that that same spirit is going to embrace and lift up all the victims of this tragedy, bringing comfort to those recovering from the injuries and wrapping the families of those that die in the support of their community." The city's live stream of the parade showed a marching band had just started playing "Jingle Bells" when a red SUV barreled into the parade from behind. At least 18 children were hospitalized after the incident, said Children's Wisconsin, a pediatric hospital in nearby Milwaukee. There are indications the driver was fleeing another incident when he drove into the parade route, according to multiple law enforcement sources familiar with preliminary investigation findings. So far, there is no known connection to international or domestic terrorism, and it does not appear to be connected to the recent verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the sources said. Authorities have not released any details of the five people killed, but the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies said some members of the group were among the victims. Biden thanked first responders for their "extraordinary work" and the "emergency room doctors who are working around the clock to deal with the terrible consequences of what happened last night." "While we don't have all the facts and details yet, we know this morning that five families in Waukesha are facing fresh grief of a life without a loved one," Biden said at the start of an event announcing that he has picked Jerome Powell for another term as chairman of the Federal Reserve. "At least 40 Americans are suffering from injuries, some of them in critical condition and an entire community is struggling, struggling to cope with the horrific act of violence."

https://www.lemurconservationnetwork.org/top-10-facts-about-lemurs/ What loves to bask in the early sunlight, has sweat glands in their wrists, and is found only in Madagascar? If you said the lemur, then you guessed right. In this blog post, we will highlight what makes lemurs so fascinating and unique, explore why they need protecting, and share what you can do to help them. Ring-tailed lemur baby Ring-tailed lemur baby. Photo: Mathias Appel. 1. Madagascar is the only place lemurs naturally call home. Located 250 miles off the east coast of Africa is the island of Madagascar, the 4th largest island in the world, and the only habitat for all wild lemurs in the world. Madagascar is classified as one of the world’s most important biodiversity hotspots! With a large proportion of its wildlife found nowhere else in the world, much of Madagascar’s wildlife is also threatened by human actions. Interestingly, some lemur species—the brown lemur and mongoose lemur—were introduced by humans and now live on the Comoros islands, a volcanic group of islands located off the north west coast of Madagascar (1). Learn about Lemurs 2. There are over 100 species of lemur, in all shapes and sizes. Image showing illustration of Megaladapis edwardsi from Lemurs of Madagascar book. Image showing illustration of the extcint Megaladapis edwardsi from Lemurs of Madagascar book. With an estimated 112 species, lemurs come in all shapes and sizes. The smallest, Madame berthe’s mouse lemur, has an average body weight of 30g, and the largest, the indri, weighs about 6-9.5kg (that’s about the size of a human child!). The indri is the largest of the living lemurs, however subfossil records show extinct lemurs as large as 85kg! Most notably, Megaladapis edwardsi that used to roam the island of Madagascar and was thought to be the size of a gorilla! (2). The number of lemur species changes often due to new discoveries and genetic testing, leading to the scientific classification of new species! 3. Lemurs have a female-dominant society. Who rules the world? Well, in lemur society the females rule! At the center of lemur society is a female leader who rises to the occasion of directing a social group. This happens quite rarely in mammals, where male dominance generally stands. Lemur females show signs of dominance in the way they mark their territories within the group. Another fact is that female lemurs snatch food away from the males, kick them out of sleeping spots, and show actual physical aggression (3, 4, 5). 4. Lemurs are legendary … Books from the Ako Project by the Lemur Conservation Foundation. Books from the Ako Project by the Lemur Conservation Foundation. Lemurs play a significant role in culture to Malagasy people and are subject to many fady, or cultural taboos and traditions that originate from ancient folktales. Fady or taboos are passed on from generation to generation through stories and provide guidance on the do’s and don’ts for local people. Many fadys involve lemurs. For example, the indri are fady for many Malagasy people. Old legends speak of the spirits of ancestors living on within these lemurs. Thus, people should not hunt, kill or eat indri. Another lemur species at the center of many fady is the Aye-Aye. But unlike the indri, the Aye-Aye is thought to be associated with evil. It is believed that ill-fortune comes to any person who sees one. This has led to persecution of the Aye-Aye across its range in Madagascar.

https://hiconsumption.com/best-motorcycles/ Despite undeniably being the market leader in the electric motorcycle space for over a decade, it wasn’t until this year that California-based two-wheeled EV outfit, Zero Motorcycles finally introduced its first fully-faired model with the SR/S. Starting with the firm’s existing SR/F naked sportbike model, the SR/S gains a full front fairing that affords it 13% better highway efficiency. An upright rider’s triangle and a 31” seat height make for a comfortable riding position ideal for navigation urban traffic, while still lending itself to spirited riding in the twisties. Backed by a half-decade warranty, the SR/S’s battery is good for up to a 200-mile range (with the optional “Power Tank”) and can receive a full charge in as little as an hour.

While he was living near the Chinese border, taking part in military exercises, Jackie was helping her mother to look after her father, who had a disability, and going out with friends in London when she had the chance. “Colin comes from a big family – he’s one of 16 children. I remember him telling me all about his brothers and sisters,” says Jackie. Shortly before Colin returned to the UK in April 1960, Jackie’s father died. “I told him in one of my letters and he wrote back, telling me I’d never walk alone. That’s the moment I knew I was going to marry him,” she says. When Colin came home, he had two weeks leave before his next posting to the Isle of Wight. He and some army friends arranged to meet Jackie and the other women who had written to them while they were stationed abroad. “I met her under the clock at Euston,” he recalls. “I was planning to stay for a short time, then get the train up north to see my family.” She says they were “shy with each other” when they finally met: “I wore a white coat with a rose emblem on the collar so he could recognise me easily.” Colin “already knew she was pretty” because they had exchanged photographs in their letters. Advertisement Despite initial shyness, they hit it off instantly. When Colin said he was going to see his family, she invited him to her house instead. “She insisted,” he says, laughing. “So I went to stay with her family in Kent for my period of leave.” Two weeks later, he was stationed on the Isle of Wight but came to Kent at weekends. “Before the army, I’d never been one to have girlfriends. I was more interested in sport,” says Colin. “But once we met I knew that was it – we were going to stay together.” They were engaged that July, and married in March 1961. Over the next few years they travelled between army bases in Germany and the UK, returning to stay with Jackie’s mum in Kent when they could. ‘We never row – life is too short,’ says Jackie, left, with Colin in 2016, on their 55th wedding anniversary. ‘We never row – life is too short,’ says Jackie, left, with Colin in 2016, on their 55th wedding anniversary. The couple have three children, born in 1965, 1968 and 1974. In 1976, they moved to Runcorn in Cheshire, along with Jackie’s mum. “It meant we could be close to my family in the north-west, and near cities with good colleges and job prospects for the children,” says Colin. They now have six grandchildren and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in March this year. “We got a card from the Queen,” says Jackie. “That was so nice because Covid meant we couldn’t really celebrate.” Colin says “tolerance, patience and kindness” is the secret to their long, happy marriage. “Jackie is very helpful to everyone – she’d do anything for anyone. She is never selfish.” They look after each other every day. “He’s had a heart attack and a triple heart bypass, he’s insulin dependent and has had a stroke, while I have problems with my eyes. We take care of one another and that’s what marriage is about,” says Jackie. “We never row – life is too short for arguments. We’re always laughing together. It’s a bit like an old pair of slippers – you want to hold on to them and never throw them away.”

"I never thought, when I started this job, that I would live through something like this," said Ionita. Europe is learning a crucial lesson -- vaccines work, but they alone won't stop Covid now Europe is learning a crucial lesson -- vaccines work, but they alone won't stop Covid now Several floors above, all the beds but one in the hospital's now-expanded intensive care units were full. A nurse was changing the sheets on the one vacant bed -- empty, because the person who occupied it now lay in the morgue. Romania has one of Europe's lowest vaccination rates. Just under 36% of the po[CENSORED]tion has been vaccinated, even though the country's vaccination campaign got off to a good start last December. Medical workers and officials attribute this low vaccination rate to a variety of factors, including suspicion of the authorities, deeply held religious beliefs, and a flood of misinformation surging through social media. HP Spectre x360 15-inch Still our favorite convertible laptop, now $1,399 There are plenty of ultraportable 2-in-1 laptops out there right now, but our favorite remains the HP Spectre x360, thanks in no small part to the gorgeous 4K OLED touchscreen that comes as standard. Once you use an OLED laptop, you'll struggle to go back to anything else. In addition to the excellent build quality, brushed metal finish, and 360-degree hinge for switching between laptop and tablet modes, the Spectre x360 packs a Core i7-1165G7 CPU with Iris Plus integrated graphics, up to 2TB of NVMe M.2 storage, 16GB of RAM, and Windows 11. The 15-inch Spectre x360 usually starts at $1,629, but HP has reduced it to $1,399. The 14-inch model, meanwhile, is also discounted to $1,069, and the 13-inch version with an FHD screen and Core i5-1135G7 is down by $199 to $890. HP Pavilion x360 A great 2-in-1 that starts at just $629 Looking for a large 2-in-1 that offers exceptional value for money? That low price gets you a Core i5-1135G7 with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD + 16GB Optane storage. It also comes with a 15.6-inch 1336 x 768 touchscreen, though we would recommend paying the extra $60 to upgrade to the full HD touch display. The Pavilion x360's build quality and full-size backlit keyboard are excellent, especially at such a low price, and it comes with a 720p webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 (you can add Wi-Fi 6 for $10 more), B&O dual speakers, a media card reader, an HP pen, Windows 11, and USB-C. In addition to the extra 5% off select accessories, buyers also get 10% off HyperX accessories. HP Pavilion 15 Laptop The power of Ryzen and Vega for under $460 Finding a laptop under $499 these days that isn't a complete potato is no easy task, but the HP Pavilion is an excellent AMD-powered all-rounder that is now reduced from $619 to just $459. The 15-inch Pavilion comes with a six-core/twelve-thread Ryzen 5 5500U with integrated Vega 7 graphics as standard, which offers some solid fps in less demanding games/lower settings. Alternatively, you can up the performance by paying an extra $110 for the Ryzen 7 5700U with Vega 8. Elsewhere, the Pavilion 15 features a 768p screen, which we again recommend upgrading to the 1080p option for an extra $40. There's also 8GB of RAM, 256GB of NVMe SSD storage, a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5, 720p webcam, SD card reader, and Windows 11. It also comes with 5% off select Accessories, buyers also get 10% off HyperX accessories and a free HP headset. HP Omen 17-ck000 An RTX 3070 and Core i7-11800H for $1,549 Prices for both graphics cards and gaming laptops are skyrocketing right now, so it's refreshing to see the 17-inch Omen, which packs an RTX 3070 and Core i7-11800H, reduced by $150 to $1,549. While the Omen's FHD 144Hz display with 7ms response time will be loved by gamers, an extra $60 upgrades it to a QHD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, making the most of that higher-end Ampere offering. If you've got deep pockets, the Omen can be specced all the way up to a Core i9-11900H with an RTX 3080. The Omen comes with 512GB of M.2 SSD and 16GB of RAM as standard. The hardware is surrounded by a sleek and sexy chassis that has a more adult feel compared to the previous Omen design, full of grey, anodized aluminum and subtle air vents. It also has a slew of connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4 with USB4 Type-C, DP 1.4, an SD media card reader, and HDMI 2.1, along with Wi-Fi 6 and a 720p webcam. Being a gaming laptop, the Omen features a 4-zone RGB backlit, shadow black keyboard with 26-Key Rollover Anti-Ghosting Key technology. And the fast-charging support means it can be juiced to 50% in around 30 minutes. This laptop comes with 5% off accessories. Victus by HP HP's more affordable gaming laptop brand, reduced by $140 While the Omen is HP's flagship gaming brand, the Victus line introduced earlier this year caters to the mid-range market. This particular 16-inch model has received plenty of glowing reviews (we awarded it a score of 85) and the base model has been reduced right down to $719. For that price, you get a Core i5-11400H, GTX 1650, 8GB RAM, and a standard 16.1-inch FHD screen, but there is a range of excellent upgrades, including jumping to a 144Hz display ($20) and adding a Core i7-11800H with an RTX 3060 ($440).

You can make silly stuff, like 1v64 or knives-only modes, or complex deathmatch variants, or classic Battlefield throwbacks—or you can do what everyone who's currently hogging all the Portal server capacity is doing and make XP farming modes. It's frustrating to see a potentially cool custom server tool dominated by bot matches designed for grinding XP, but while investigating the issue, I discovered that a beautiful thing is happening: Players are joining XP farming servers hoping to rack up attachment unlocks, but are instead discovering that they're the XP being farmed.

The company hopes it can eventually offer the pill, given in combination with an older antiviral drug called ritonavir, to people to take at home before they get sick enough to go to the hospital. A so-called interim analysis -- done before the trial was scheduled to end -- showed an 89% reduction in the risk of hospitalization or death from Covid-19 if patients got it soon enough, the company said. What would an antiviral pill mean for the fight against Covid-19? What would an antiviral pill mean for the fight against Covid-19? Pfizer released the results in a news release and did not provide scientists to discuss the data ahead of release. The data has not been peer reviewed or published. The company says it will share more specifics in a peer-reviewed paper and with its submission to the US Food and Drug Administration. The company has been testing the drug in adults with Covid-19 who are considered at high risk of progressing to severe illness. The volunteers have been randomly given either the pill combination or a placebo within three days or five days of their symptoms starting. The pill, still known by its experimental name PF-07321332, is what's known as a protease inhibitor. It's designed to stop the virus from multiplying. Giving it along with ritonavir slows its breakdown in the body, the company said. UK becomes first to authorize Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics' antiviral molnupiravir to treat mild-to-moderate Covid-19 UK becomes first to authorize Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics' antiviral molnupiravir to treat mild-to-moderate Covid-19 Pfizer said 0.8% of patients who got the drug combination within three days were hospitalized within four weeks -- three out of 389 patients -- compared to 7% of patients who got placebos, or 27 out of 385. And seven of those who got placebos died, Pfizer said. No one who got the treatment died within a month. "Similar reductions in COVID-19-related hospitalization or death were observed in patients treated within five days of symptom onset; 1% of patients who received PF-07321332 (with) ritonavir were hospitalized through Day 28 following randomization (6/607 hospitalized, with no deaths), compared to 6.7% of patients who received a placebo," the company said. It said 19% of patients given the treatment suffered adverse events, compared to 21% who got placebo, but declined to disclose what those adverse events were.

With Windows 11 S mode, which is a version of the operating system that limits where you can download apps from, the Start menu is also not working for some users. The fact that Microsoft-made apps aren’t able to run on a Microsoft-made operating system isn’t a great look, which is why the company has rushed out a fix for some of the issues. Known as KB4006746, this looks like it fixes several of the issues, but Snipping Tool, one of the most po[CENSORED]r apps, remains broken for some. Snipping Tool allows users to capture screenshots in Windows 11 with a variety of options, such as taking screenshots of only parts of the screen, so it can be a genuinely useful tool As The Verge reports, Microsoft hasn’t mentioned when a fix for the snipping tool will arrive, but it has suggested a workaround, where users should “use the Print Screen key on your keyboard and paste the screenshot into your document. You can also paste it into Paint to select and copy the section you want.” It’s certainly not ideal, so hopefully Microsoft fixes the Snipping Tool issues soon as well. Until then, check out our guide on how to take screenshots in Windows 11 for more options. What’s going on? Having pre-installed apps fail to load in Windows 11 is a pretty troubling issue, and doesn’t make for a good first impression for people who have just upgraded to the new operating system, so what’s going on? According to Microsoft, this has been caused by “an issue with a Microsoft digital certificate, which expired October 31, 2021.” The company doesn’t go into any more details about the problem, which is also causing issues with the Accounts section of the Settings app in Windows 11 S mode, but the fact that Microsoft has allowed one of its own certificated to expire, causing problems in Windows 11, is certainly embarrassing. At least many of the issues have been quickly fixed, though we’re not sure why the Snipping Tool issue remains.

Early adopters of Intel’s LGA 1700 platform will have to choose between DDR5 or DDR4 memory when buying a motherboard, as the company’s Alder Lake CPUs will only work with one type of memory at any given time. The good news is that enthusiast-grade DDR5-7000 modules are coming, but don’t expect them to be cheap. Now that Intel’s unlocked Alder Lake desktop processors have started shipping, companies will be rushing to offer early adopters the best DDR5 memory that money can buy. This became apparent last week, when Gigabyte published a list of supported DDR5 modules for its Z690 Aorus Tachyon motherboard. Gigabyte’s list includes everything from modules that work within the standard JEDEC specification and up to DDR5-7000 modules from multiple vendors that will deliver a higher bandwidth at the cost of increased power consumption and heat. Apparently, you’ll soon be able to purchase 16-gigabyte sticks of CL40 DDR5-7000 memory from companies like Adata and TeamGroup, as well as Gigabyte’s own Aorus sub brand. The 7000 MT/s data transfer rate is afforded by increasing the input voltage to 1.5V from the standard 1.1V spec, but the good news is that you won’t need any exotic cooling to deal with the added heat. Earlier this week, G.Skill revealed it was able to overclock its Trident Z5 DDR5 memory to 3,500 MHz (7,000 MHz effective speed). All of these high-speed memory modules integrate Samsung’s 14 nm DDR5 chips, possibly a model that is the spiritual successor of the highly sought-after B-die from yesteryear. We have yet to see any official announcements for these DDR5-7000 sticks, but one thing is for sure — they’ll cost you an arm and a leg. As of writing, even a basic 32-gigabyte DDR5-4800 kit from Crucial or GeIL will set you back anywhere between $211 and $428. PNY’s XLR8 DDR5-4800 kits are expected to hit the shelves later this month with a price tag in the same range, and the company is also readying CL36 Mako RGB DDR5-5600 modules that will be capable of up to 6400 MHz effective speeds.

own Battlefield mode works. Battlefield 2042's pivot to characters was as inevitable as the backlash to Battlefield 2042's pivot to characters, but even those jeering at the beta from the balcony start listening when Battlefield Portal comes up. If gadget warfare with unique specialists doesn't sit well with you, Portal promises that you can return to the halcyon days of Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3, and even design a Battlefield mode that's uniquely suited to your tastes. The time has come for us desk chair balance experts to prove we actually know the correct time-to-kill tuning for a Battlefield game. DICE explained Portal pretty thoroughly when it was announced, but a new gameplay trailer (embedded above) shows off some of the classic maps and a blog post published today provides the most detailed rundown of the system we've seen so far. Portal can be thought of as an unusually powerful custom server configurator. It's categorically not like Halo's Forge mode, because you can't build or modify maps. Rather, what we'll be able to do is design playlists using Battlefield 2042's new soldiers, weapons, and vehicles, as well as those from the three classic Battlefields I mentioned, with custom rules and variables. Ee'll be able to mix and match armies, however unbalanced it may be, turn knobs like bullet velocity and health regen rate, and flip toggles like friendly fire and squad reviving. It goes pretty deep, all the way to a visual logic editor for designing your own rules and win conditions. When Portal was first announced, DICE expressed that, yeah, even silly, obviously lopsided modes are possible: If you want to make a 1-v-127 mode, you can do it. What I'm most excited about is the prospect of designing ridiculous PvE modes using Battlefield 2042's bots, which can also be customized. I want to gather a few friends to fight hordes of World War 2 AI infantry with an attack helicopter.
