The Italian brand will launch this new version in Brazil this year, the most accessible of the range, designed exclusively for work and fleet owners. It will have basic equipment, but with the highest load capacity in the segment: 770 kilos. Mechanically, it will be powered by the 85 hp Fire Evo 1.4 engine, associated with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
Much of the recognition that the Strada boasts is thanks to the tireless Working versions, the most basic and utilitarian in the portfolio, designed especially for fleets. In Fiat they know it very well and after the production of the first generation, they are already working on its successor, which will complete the range of the small pickup. Its development had already been anticipated last year, but only now the test units have begun to be seen, which indicates that its launch is near.
This is demonstrated by the images published by our colleagues at Autos Segredos, who managed to photograph a unit completely without camouflage and even with the Working badges on the sides. As expected, it will be the most accessible option in the range, stripped of all superfluous elements, but with a feature that will be highly valued by its customers: its load capacity will increase to 770 kilos, the largest in the segment.
Based on the Cabina Plus body -extended-, it has unpainted bumpers -black plastic-, halogen headlights with darkened mask, protections on the wheel arches, 14-inch steel wheels -shod with 175/70 R14 tires- and lining on the box to prevent scratches. Inside doors, the proposal will be similar, nothing fancy, just enough and necessary but with a good security endowment: according to the Brazilian website, its equipment will consist of hydraulic steering, radio preparation, 12V socket, driver's footrest, computer dashboard, tachometer, GSI gear shift indicator, door storage, sun visor with mirror and height-adjustable seat belts.
Fortunately, it will keep the dual airbag, brakes with ABS / EBD, traction control and stability control. Air conditioning could be offered as an optional extra.
Mechanically, this version will use the same configuration of the Endurance variants: the well-known 85 hp Fire Evo 1.4 gasoline engine, associated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. An already extremely proven and reliable combination that was already offered in its predecessor.
The presentation of the new Strada Working is scheduled for the next few months in the neighboring country, already as part of the Model Year 2022 line of the pick up. At the moment, there are no indications about his arrival in Argentina. Moreover, if it is materialized, unfortunately it will have to face one of the typical and questioned bureaucratic obstacles of the country: when it exceeds 700 kilos of load capacity, to drive it it would be necessary to process the LiNTI.
